I ordered a burger with brisket on it. Credit for using a bun that holds together. Unfortunately, the burger itself fell apart. The brisket was dry; not hard, but brittle. Soaked in their BBQ sauce, it was difficult to tell. As someone who eats and makes brisket with some regularity, it stood out to me as unappetizing. Instead of fries, I asked for cole slaw. It was very unimaginative, under-seasoned, and crisp - it should be allowed to soften up some. I appreciate a light-mayo, heavy-vinegar cole slaw. What I got was more like shredded moist cabbage. Salt? Sugar? My wife ordered a different burger, and her story was similar. She ended up eating it with a fork because it fell apart. Her burger was topped with pickled red onion. Pickled red onion should pop through. Its a unique flavor. Though there was plenty on the burger, they were under-seasoned. This was a Saturday night, and so I assume this is the top of their game. I was disappointed. Staff was friendly, prompt, and accommodating. Id likely not return.
If youre thinking about going to Vauxhall... STOP THINKING A GO ALREADY!!!This was my first time going too Vauxhall and it was AMAZING. Between the food, the service and the environment. It was a great experience! 5 out of 5 is an understatement. Our waitress, Katelyn was AMAZING. she was very attentive, fast and an amazing conversation keeper.I got the OG, which is a burger that has Lettuce, Tomato, cheese, pickles and Vauxhall Sauce on it. It was cooked perfectly and was juicy and a great burger. My husband got the Hells Kitchen Chicken which was a chicken sandwhich with Vauxhall sauce, bacon and tomato. He said he was delicious and when i took a bite, it was by far the best chicken sandwhich i had ever eaten. (Besides my mothers at least)Vauxhall is wonderful place with a great environment, great servers and great food. Go and try it!
So if you need to pre game before a show at the Paramount, i got a spot for you... Vaux Hall... killer burgers & amazing craft beer list...The boys and I went with apps today, couple orders of wings, Empanadas, Giant pretzels & fish tacos.... so the sriracha lime & bbq wings were delicious, nice sized wings too...had double orders of empanadas 1. corn beef 2. pulled pork ...both were tasty and had outer flaky crust with plenty goodness inside....of we had the Giant pretzels...just like Elaines Big Salad...2 dipping sauce , the honey mustard was killer especially with the crusted mustard seed for texture with that warm pretzel... also would work with corn beef Empanadas....and then finished wirh delicious fish tacos....staff is amazing and service was grade A...... A must !!#meecheatsny #vauxhall
Food looked great but was only decent, asked for burger medium and it was well past well done, had almost no juices left it in was so over cooked. Would of sent it back but waited for over an hour from the time food was ordered for it to arrive and to be told that they were missing ingredients would a substitute be okay. Should not taken an hour to be told they were out of something. The service was also terrible, couldnt even get water to the table. Will probably not go back unless its with friends and no other option.
If you sit outside it can get loud when people drive by in their noise-enhanced cars! When the Harleys come by grab the ear plugs and watch in awe.Servers works as a team, and were great.Strong drinks.Burger was good(black bean burger made in the style of a regular burger menu item)Fries are just enough quantity and tasty.Mac and cheese lacking in flavor.Good tap selection.Overall its a nice place to eat but not the absolute best.
I ordered the OG burger medium rare it came out medium well, I was also told it came with a choice of salad, fries or truffle fries. I asked if it was included again to make sure the waitress said yes when the bill came it was a separate item an extra $3.00. It’s not the money it’s about having some integrity when you’re out for dinner. I love the New Wave Burrito spot next door which is owned by the same people but the experience and execution for the food plus the service and attention is night and day definitely a 5 star spot.
Food was ok but went there on a weekend and only 2 people were “working” and service was horrible. Waitress apparently doubled as the bartender and completely stopped waiting on tables and the waiter who seemed like more of a bus boy was only interested in serving the table of age questionable younger women who just came in to drink. Then even when I wanted to order another drink, both of them were too busy taking shots with that table. Must be friends of theirs. Either way food was decent and atmosphere was alright. Would get food for take out again but never dining in again.
Had a delicious mixed drink and a salad with goat cheese. Late night dinner after a late night meeting. Husband got a very tasty chicken sandwich. I think there was one other person there who was too old to be my kid, but thats ok, I dont hate millennials.Id come back hungrier and earlier in the evening for the burger with smoked gruyere and wild mushrooms.
Terrible food and terrible customer service.I would give 0 stars if I could. The food took forever to come out. I got a grilled chicken salad and the chicken tasted like soap. My husband got a fried chicken sandwich but they forgot about it twice and when we asked them to cancel it and take it off the check they wouldn’t. The manager didn’t seem to care or have any consideration for the situation. He just kept saying “it happens, and unfortunately tonight it happen to you.” It’s ridiculous to have a customer wait all night for food and then have them pay for it and take it home.As we were leaving we heard the waitress tell the kitchen they forgot someone’s Mac and Cheese, so I guess we weren’t the only ones missing food.I wouldn’t recommend. It was frustrating experience and a waste of money.
Great bar/restaurant! The inside is a bit dreary, not a lot of lighting during the day but it had that nice rustic feel that a lot of bars have. Our server was friendly and took care of our orders promptly. I have to say, we ordered a couple of cocktails and they were made pretty well! Def recommend trying one here. The food is not typical bar food and is good quality, better than some restaurants. I ordered the Nashville fried chicken sandwich and man it was tasty! Came in a brioche bun with pickles and spicy mayo on the side. You can choose from fries, BBQ chips or a salad as your side. Overall a very good place to grab a quick bite or some drinks.
I give this place a 2 for the waiter Grace was super friendly. She had to wait on all tables and bartend at the same time. So Im going to assume their understaffed due to covid-19. The food was very basic: We ordered 2 kitchen sink burgers. (both over cooked and dry: we ordered medium) wings (were good no complaints) Fried chicken and mac & cheese (chicken good but the mac & chesse was not good. my twin 5 year olds didnt even finish it. The drinks we ordered were good no complaints. I expected alot more of this place based on the pictures online. Will give them a 2nd chance in the future due to the fact I think everything was over cooked due to staffing issues.
Very rude service! We came here at 10pm on a Friday. We wanted to order few apps but mainly drinks. The bar was full and we were a party of 5. The tables were empty so the host sat us at one of the tables. We ordered 5 COCKTAILS but the waitress was very upset. She claimed it was not worth serving us if we were just gettingcocktails but no main entree. So we ordered wings to make her happy. However we were disappointed because we wanted to have at least 2-3 drinks and a place for us all 5 to sit. I don’t get it since the food is not good at this place and you’d think that they would be happy that we would buy many overly priced drinks and tip well? Dont waste your time and money.
Vauxhall is a fun, casual American eatery! Theyve got a nice selection of burgers and fried chicken sandwiches which pair exceptionally well with their rotating taps of beer. Add to that a limited, but tempting selection of mac n cheese skillets and youve got yourself a fun and filling meal with your drinking buddies.
Great burgers - overpriced but tasty. Good beer menu, solid wine list, friendly staff. Usually shows games muted on the two screens, but not a sports bar. Good place for a bite and a beer solo, and quiet enough to have a chat with a friend over a casual meal.Brunch menu is limiting on the weekend, but the kitchen is open late, which is a lifesaver. Solid arrow in the quiver!
The experience was okay. We went and ordered, drinks were great. They said can we get a name for the order well call it our the door when its ready but they did not call out the order. We watched as an order sat there and others were called. We finally went in, asking for a refill on our waters when we inquired about our order, which miraculously was the order that had been sitting there for 10 minutes. Thankful we went in and got it though cause the food was amazing; go here and be on top of your order (check in after 25 minutes) because it was just delicious.
For whatever reason when I eat here there is always an issue. One time they were having trouble with the volume of the music and it kept going to maximum volume. Another time they got the food order wrong. Tried it one more time yesterday and the food that we got was cold, waiter was nice and apologized but we had to pay 45 dollars for cold food. I’m only giving 2 stars because of the beer selection.
The Burgers speak for themselves. The care that went into the way you wanted the burger was out of this world. It came exactly as ordered. I was especially impressed with our server. I revisited the spot twice and found out that she was actually the manager. We became a couple after 3 weeks of seeing each other like that. Such a weird, yet happy turn of events
Went here on Halloween night. Great selection of vegan options and regular menu options for meat eaters. Tried the black bean burger in a Mediterranean wrap as per suggestion of the waiter. It was great. Vauxhall sauce is not vegan but DELICIOUS! This is a small bar style eatery, but the atmosphere was great especially for Halloween. They have quick service. The only thing I didn’t like was the ginger ale. It had a weird after taste, even when I asked for a new one.
Went here with a party of 8 and they were very accommodating. The burger I ordered was cooked great, service was fast, and ambiance is very nice. Only complaint is that the Evil Sal burger, which claimed to be spicy on the menu, was not. Everything was great, will be coming back.
AVOID! Food was at best ok, service inattentive. Experience was further aggravated by rude Manager who wouldn’t acknowledge that they totally missed a meal on our order (guest in our party sat watching us eat with repeated inquiries for progress on his meal, waited for an hour and never saw his meal). When speaking to Manager he was flippant saying... “it’s a busy night, orders get messed up, tonight it happened to you. Too bad.” What?! Was I at Vauxhall or McDonalds?! I’m a huge advocate for supporting small businesses especially due to impact of COVID and I was very taken back by Manager’s attitude. When I pressed him to consider future business His response was “we own 5 restaurants in Huntington, we’ll be just fine without your business”. I was not even being confrontational, and this was their response. I would avoid this restaurant. They don’t value the customer experience and theyre doing just fine without our business.
The dining room atmosphere is great. Dark wood, with light walls and dim lights. It is cozy and modern. It is a little tight. The burgers are made of good quality meat, and they are filling. The toppings are flavorful without overpowering the burger itself. The service is good. Friendly but not in your face. The price is comparable to similiar menus in the village.Great spot for dates and right across from the movie theater.
I went there by myself but with my service dog and I wanted to grab a drink and eat outside. Keep in mind this place is dog friendly outside only. I guess it was too late for the waiters to be working so I had to order from the inside bar. I went inside carrying my dog to be polite and went straight to the bar which is literally right next to the entrance. The guy at the door let me in no problem. But as I was waiting for the bartender to place an order another employee said I cant be inside with the dog. I told him it was a service dog and he just continued to insist that there are no dogs allowed inside and wanted to kick me out. I continued to tell him its a service dog and Im fine with eating outside and that I just wanted to place an order as I was planning to eat and drink outside regardless. So of course I end up losing the battle and I have to get walked outside. So outside I ask the employees if I can just order something through them since I cant be inside and he gives me a smug answer of thats not my job, Im not a waiter I told him I dont mind giving him a tip like a waiter - I just want to grab some food and drinks and he just says its not about that... (with a smug on his face nonetheless)... And then after that they just ignored me... so I left... and I wasnt with anyone else so its not like someone else could have run inside and ordered or I wasnt with someone else who could watch my service dog while I go inside - which I really shouldnt have to do... I have a service dog for a reason...Long story short here I am a customer not only more than willing to pay for food and drinks, tip, and to eat outside but more importantly with a service animal and I get completely rejected. They were rude, didnt listen to me, didnt obey the law, and basically tried to do what they can not to serve me. As a business owner myself I dont understand how you can have employees who not only dont know the laws, but to also completely reject and to not even help someone who is willing to pay for your services - expecially during this pandemic...Im not one for reporting businessed or people especially in todays pandemic but it takes a lot for me to write something like this which speaks itself. But I felt the need to say something because it was just a terrible experience and I dont want that to happen to someone else with a service animal. As far as everything else I have been here before. I dont know if Ill go back after this but from my other experiences - the food is okay but overpriced like most of Huntington. Dark, loud and small. Never was my favorite or go to spots prior to this. Their best attribute is having a kitchen that closes late.
There is so much to love. Music? Excellent. Lots of 2010s alternative/punk/emo vibes. Food? To die for. I had been drooling over the instagram posts for months and finally took the trip out - soooo worth it. Drinks? Delicious.I cannot wait to go back over and over again to try every item on the menu.
This establishment may have decent food and beverages. However, the waiters and bartenders do NOT wear masks! Then you go to the kitchen area, the head chef does not wear a mask as he handles the food and the people in the kitchen do not wear masks! On the weekends there is zero social distancing! If you want to get the virus, this is the sure place to go as even the owners walk around the place without a mask on! Also their sister location New Wave is the same thing, the CDC would have a field day here!
Im only giving 2 stars because I THINK the food was good. I ordered delivery and the entire burger fell apart in my hands as soon as I picked it up. I forked up all the mac and cheese that fell off my burger and it had no flavor. The rest of the burger disintegrated in my hands. Wont be ordering here again.
Perhaps it was my mistake to order a black bean burger, but sadly that is all I can review based on. The black bean burger was quite dry and mine was topped only by a small tomato and a stingy few pieces of avocado. There was more bun than burger and it honestly really overpowered the bit of flavor the burger did have. Im not sure if I got a bad one, as my mothers looked a bit better, but I did feel it was lacking something. It wasnt bad, but didnt live up to what they charged for it.
Service disappointed. We were seated for 15 before anyone acknowledged we were there and got some water. We were warned the kitchen was backed up which was appreciated. When the two entrees arrived one of them was really overcooked. However once we got our food we didnt see our waitress for another half hour when we had to ask another server for help. Fries were good though.
Food is great. The pretzels are heavenly. There are 4 places within a 3 block radius that does pretzels, but they are by far the best. The dipping sauces are amazing. The must try item on the menu are the burgers. Excellent quality meats, coupled with a well balanced bun and a wide selection of toppings makes them the prime location for burgers. Day or night. Add vuaxhall to the bucket list. A must try
An awesome place to go and eat. Can get busy and crowded on a weekend night but the workers there are friendly and keep you updated on your table if you are waiting. Nice bar and t.vs to watch while waiting for a table too. Food was great, delicious poutine and burgers were tasty as well. They got some powerful mustard for the Giant pretzels they serve. It was fun trying to eat as much mustard as we could before our eyes watered. Its not bad mustard just powerful spice that packs a punch, for my crew anyway haha. Thanks again for a good time Vauxhall oh and the door guy was cool too.
In my near 50 years of burger eating, nothing comes close to the most incredible burger I had at Vauxhall. From coast to coast and up and down both coasts seaboard, I have never had a burger as delicious as the two visited at Vauxhall, and that includes joints in NYC, LA, Chicago, SF, and Miami. Beer selection was smart, vibe cool ...burger best on planet.
We had a burger craving tonight and thought we’d try Vauxhall. We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday and place was empty. Music was so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation. The air conditioning was blasting but the room was still damp and warm because servers were opening the door for outside dining. Burgers were mediocre. Bill was $50 for two burgers, an iced tea and a glass of wine. I doubt we’d return.
The cocktail game is strong. A welcoming relaxed and dark ambiance is home to some inventive mixologists. They also have an expertly curated craft beer menu. If you are a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a place to hang you must go. Try the Cold Fashioned, a bold variation on a bourbon old fashioned but better for the cold-brew coffee and chocolate bitters. Go go go.
I have to say I was not expecting the burger I received. I should have known, but I did not look around at the other tables. It was gigantic. I had no idea how to handle it, but little by little, I got there. It was delicious. Cool place, Ill return to try more dishes.
Being a vegetarian, I was hesitant to try this place. Usually places with vegetarian options arent that great. Kept hearing such good reviews I decided to try it out. I had the black bean burger with the egg on it for brunch it was AMAZING. Definitely will be going here again. (Only downside is that it is a small place so make sure to get there before the crowd hits)
Top notch food & drink, killer ambiance and attentive service -- this place nailed it. Ive been a few times, sometimes for food, sometimes for drinks, and sometimes just for drinks, shortly realizing I cant resist ordering their delicious food. Always with a group of great people...whether we planned to meet up, or just end up in an undeniable top-of-the-charts Huntington restaurant at the same time.Ive enjoyed my time here whether as the designated driver or the designated drinker. Why, you ask? They have my favorite designated driver drink --cold brew coffee...and my favorite designated drinker drink --prosecco...wait for it...BOTH ON TAP. Wild. Awesome. And delicious.Late night menu is a rare find in Huntington if youre in the mood for anything other than Pizza (I see you, Rosas, Im not hating, just saying...). This one kills the game. Burgers...fries...PROSECCO ON TAP. Still not over it.The space is amazing - very well thought out and nicely designed...the outdoor seating is incredible when the weather is right. The staff is friendly, attentive and very obviously happy to be there doing what they do. Thats uncommon in the business...Im allowed to say that as a former, eventually jaded server. You wont find bad attitudes or grimaces here. Not to mention the owners. Theyre somewhat easy to spot because theyre checking in with guests experiences and theyre present - hanging around the bar, overseeing, being really, really good at what they do.This place is worth the wait youll most certainly find on a busy weekend night. Put your name on the list and grab a cold brew coffee, a prosecco, one of their bangin fancy cocktails (ahem...the old fashioned), or a draft off of their extensive craft beer list. You wont be disappointed.
I walked around this area a lot of times, waiting for the chance to try a new spot. So for the New Year Day, i said to myself, Lets get this over with. The lighting does make the place more relaxing. The bartender is good in my book since he ensures all his customers are well aware of how long their provisions will be served. Plus thank Adonai the bathrooms are clean compared to other spots. So two reasons why i left out the fifth star: 1) its a small location. Three people bumped into me including two when i was sitting. And thats on a Tues. Have fun on the weekends. 2) The expenses. I thought I was paying for a full tank of gas when I saw my check. In the end, I did wait at least ten min for my medium well Breakfast Bing. Although, my meal exceeded my expectations. Overall I give this place a passing grade when I get a chance I come back for a different taste.
This was the second time coming here and they didnt disappoint! To start, I would recommend the Poutine with chicken. It was awesome. I had a bunless burger and my daughter had a grilled cheese with beef brisket. Both were excellent and we had leftovers to take home. The service was on point as well. We will be back!
This site is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I want to go to a special dinner, this restaurant comes straightaway to my head. Great and varied food and a large menu.generous staff, and pleasant spirit. Also important, the tariff is modest. I suggest this place with pleasure.
Chef Michael Meehan, named one of the region’s “super chefs” by The New York Times, is well known amongst Long Islanders for his time as chef at Mill River Inn in Oyster Bay and Tupelo Honey in Sea Cliff. His menu at Vauxhall is wildly imaginative and markedly audacious. On any given weekend, you’ll find me seated at the bar, chatting with friends, enjoying a meal, daydreaming of Meehan’s creations. I dream about this burger menu. No seriously, it’s magical. Who doesn’t love a properly cooked meat patty, decorated with ornate toppings like tomato jam, pickled red onions, sunnyside egg or roast wild mushrooms. The list goes on and on, from spicy ghost pepper marmalade to crumbled BBQ chips - there is something for every food enthusiast. If you’re a vegan by some stroke of misfortune, you wont miss out on all of the fun. Vauxhall offers a “Black Bean Sweet Potato Burger” complete with its own sumptuous toppers. Don’t forget to peruse their cocktail list, beer menu and sometimes-available desserts. They are top of the line and extremely inventive. (Oh, and delicious.) I urge you to join me in discovering some of the best food on Long Island, at my neighborhood retreat, Vauxhall.
Expensive burger joint. Decent beers on tap, nice house made proseco, limited menu but expected for a burger place. Meat burgers seemed good and everyone enjoyed them. The sweet potato and black bean burger was bland and burnt. Wing appetizer was delicious- nice, tangy bbq sauce. Wedge salad was mediocre. Very noisy, again for the right crowd it was ok. Bar and main room are one small area, tightly fit. The servers hang out near the bathrooms providing for an awkward meeting with patrons. Parking is a nightmare, but thats all of Huntington. Wont find a reason to return, honestly.
Arguably the best burger I have ever had.If you ever happen to walk into this gem of Huntington, be sure to ask the bartender to recommend a drink based off of your liking. Super talented owners who value quality over quantity. This place has quickly become a landmark restaurant/bar in Huntington, NY. Beer selection is killer and I have yet to have a meal that wasnt awesome. Late night dinner menu is a bonus if youre looking for a great way to end the night. Cold cheese slice has met its match.Hashtag, hashtag.
This place is cute for the area, but cant keep it together. Im from Brooklyn and was in the area to see some music. I was excited when we stumbled across this place and even more excited that they had some vegan options. The black bean burger was delicious. Out of 5 of us, 4 orders were wrong. And when I say wrong, I mean they left off expensive add-ons like avocado and cheese. On 4 burgers. That adds up to almost $15 total for those add-ons. We told someone, and they subtracted some from the bill, but not all. Not sure if theyre that inept or just preying upon seemingly drunk people. Either way - Im turned off. Keep your eyes on your burger and your bill if you come here. And sadly they dont have fries or anything yummy late night.
Loud & crowded but our party of 4 was seated before our first drinks were finished. Tons of craft beefs on tap & by the bottle. They could use a few more (or different) selections for the wines offered. As for the food, although its a burger joint there are some decent alternatives. We shared the BBQ wings (excellent), the mac & cheese (ok but question the use of the tiny pasta), the pretzel (bigger is not better! A little dry and definitely need a beer cheese dip rather than those offered) and the mussels (best of the bunch! Tasty broth & the addition of the duck sausage gave it a wonderful richness).Main dishes-my husband loved the burger with fried egg!!! I sampled the fish tacos, which were very good but needed a home made pico de gallo or salsa verde. Our friends had the burger (which he loved!!) & Yard bird chicken waffle sandwich (a little too much waffle-kinda dry).Finished with the donuts dessert Underwhelming-the accompanying sauces were a little tasteless.Excellent service by Alexis made the night very pleasurable. Food comes out fast but the pacing is not hurried. Not a place for a romantic dinner, but lively & fun.
I am reading the above comments and I can only say that anyone who is raving about the burgers at this place must have eaten at a different restaurant. I couldnt get through more than a few bites of my burger because it was medium, but bleeding across my plate and it was getting all over my microwaved bacon. The place should come with a warning sign: Must be hipster to enter this establishment.
My husband and I had dinner and experienced while sitting outside a rowdy environment, glass breaking crowd and loud talking waitresses. Very disappointed that Huntington township allows this type of behavior.good hamburgers but someone needs to keep an eye out on this place.it has potential to be a problem.
Went here with my boyfriend last night. While we were waiting to be seated, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender immediately asked for our ID. We are both of age. The bartender REFUSED to serve my boyfriend. EVEN THOUGH MY BOYFRIEND IS 23. The lisence was NOT expired either. PA lisences say “do not serve until 21” as a standard on all lisences. He turned us away because the bartender THOUGHT the lisence was not up to date and refused to listen when we said otherwise. We also offered other forms of ID and he refused to even look!!!! We were so angry for being mistreated we left. Very disappointing experience and inconsiderate staff.

2021-10-13One of my favorite restaurants in Huntington. Their cocktails are consistently fantastic and the food is delicious. Great selection of burgers. The Nashville spicy chicken was a standout. Nice ambiance and good service.

2022-04-19These burgers are unreal. I come here for an elevated burger and delicious drinks. Its dangerous because its so good !!One of the bartenders made the best margarita Ive had in my life. Worth a try. It does get busy so do anticipate maybe a 5-10 minute wait. Its worth it.

2022-06-18Great burgers and fries, in my opinion one of the best in Huntington. Mac and Cheese is good too! Wait staff is polite and quick to assist, prices are fair and to-go orders are always on time. Highly recommended.

2021-12-13Nice place. Great staff. Had the mac and cheese brisket. It was ok. It really wasnt mac and cheese. It was pasta with a cheese sauce and a few pieces of brisket on top. It tasted good but not mac and cheese.

2022-07-08I went here last Friday, and I have to say this was some of the best food Ive eaten in a while. The Nashville hot nugs were absolutely incredible. And then the Evil Sal burger was beyond belief. I think it might be the best burger Ive had. Staff was great too, Gianna was a great waitress.

2020-11-14A very cozy establishment. Nice staff. Some really interesting burgers and really cool drinks! Our server Jon C was a good guy and very helpful.I enjoyed The Deep Cut cocktail. This was made with bourbon, honey, peach schnapps, a lit cinnamon stick for a smoky effect and black walnut bitters. An excellent cocktail! For lunch my buddy and I had the wings as a appetizer. They were good, not great, but pretty decent. For our main course, we had The Rodeo Clown (pulled pork) and The Wild Life burger (Gruyere. Onions & Mushrooms) on lettuce instead of the brioche bun. Both were very good. I really enjoyed them.I will certainly make it back here again to try some of the other menu items. Overall definitely worth a visit!
