Outstanding care! The staff are amazing and went out of their way for us. Dr. Lee is amazing. This is not my regular veterinary clinic, I live to the west of Fairmount but they did not hesitate to help us in our time of need. I would not hesitate to go back to this clinic! 5+ stars
Absolutely the best vets around. I have taken my dog to 5 different vets before finding these wonderful doctors. They listen, they care and they include you in all the decisions. They have made a world of difference in my dogs life. Weve been going here for a couple years now. And Im always confident in the care my dog receives. Highly recommend
We have been bringing our pets to FAH for almost 40 years. Many changes have happened over the years. I would like to thank Dr Losito for her excellent care of our cat and Dr Markham and staff for their very professional and caring handling of her today as we unfortunately had to put her to sleep. The handling of the euthanasia appointment was very comforting to our cat Lily and to our family and we appreciate the thoughtful approach.
Ive been taking my pets to FAH since Dr. Sonne owned it and the practice was located on the same road but in a different building. I remember when Drs. Losito and Fatcheric first started working at the practice. Dr. Sonne has long retired and the Drs. have moved into a much larger building. Theyve grown the practice and hired many more Drs. since then too. Dr. Bailey is my favorite of all the doctors and she makes my kitties so comfortable when they have to go see her. I recently had to bring one of my cats to Dr. Lee whom I wasnt very fond of when she first started at the practice, but I have to say that I was very pleased to have her help my kitty. Needless to say, we all have our favorites but the bottom line is that each doctor who works at FAH is fabulous in their own way and your pets will be in good hands.
Ive been going to Fairmount now VCA for years and havent been happy for awhile and this time failed again. Dr. Lee seemed like she didnt care about my dogs issues and couldnt give me answers. Her assistant was amazing and seemed to care more about my dog. Will go elsewhere to get my dog healthy and to get someone who cares about their patient.
This clinic by far is just too much to brag about, they, the whole crew, all are compassionate, caring, understanding, kind, and so on. They treat you with respect and they really care about the well being of your furry family members. They helped our family through that tuff time with our last dog and did everything they could to ease our loss! The Staff is amazing we love them all, especially Dr. Losito 🐶❤️🐱
I used to like them a lot. Brought my pets here for years. Then they got too busy and now it takes weeks to get an appointment. I have a dog with bad allergies who spends all his time itching himself raw. When he runs out of meds we cannot wait WEEKS to be seen! So we went elsewhere. That was the best thing for him because the new vet switched up his meds and now my dog itches so much less and has gained some weight!
I used to really love this place - the customer care was top notch. Its really gone downhill recently. No one answers the phones anymore and its hit or miss with getting someone to respond to a voicemail... Or three voicemails left over a couple weeks. Lately pet prescription refills have also been a hassle requiring multiple calls to get it right, when its always the same thing sent to the same place. Were going to be finding a new veterinarian.
We have been going to Fairmount Animal Hospital with our Vizsla, Ziva, since she came into our family 12 years ago. We truly loved the care she received, especially from Dr. Pasintino. In fact, the last time we took Ziva in for her annual visit in 2020, the new veterinarian texted Dr. P to give her an update. Recently Ziva began having difficulty walking and when we called the soonest appointment was 19 DAYS OUT!!! A veterinarian was supposed to call us but never did. A few days later we called again to get an urgent appointment because Ziva’s symptoms were getting worse. We were told that they could not accommodate us and we were advised to go to VCM (an urgent care facility). We could not get in to VCM till the next day. By that time Ziva was no longer able to walk on her own. When we got Ziva to VCM there was little they could without putting her through extensive testing. Needless to say we ended up having to say goodbye to our beloved family member. The staff at VCM were outstanding during a very difficult time. I called Fairmount Animal Hospital today to cancel Ziva’s appointments only to find out that they had received a report earlier about her visit. Other than empty and hollow apologies they had nothing to say. A request for Ziva’s vet to call us 6 days earlier had not even been acted on. If you are looking for veterinarian care, look elsewhere. Since joining VCA, Fairmount Animal Hospital is not the same. SEMPER FI Ziva. We love you and miss you.
Absolutely a wonderful place to bring your family pet. They are kind, professional and extremely helpful during my visit. I appreciated so much the attention to detail and the warmth they showed my little Cockapoo. I came in for a rabies shot and not once was I bombarded with other services as I has experienced many times. I did make an appointment for a annual checkup in a couple of months. The facility was very clean and I was quite impressed. We are new to the neighborhood and finding a great Vet is important. I see why that their reviews are so positive, it is true!
My 17 year old Pug passed away suddenly at my home on a Sunday afternoon. For some unknown reason, my local Urgent Care was not open.Fairmount Animal Hospital was open for another hour when I contacted them. I took my angel girl there. From the initial phone call, arrival at the facility, taking care of her cremation, to a loving card signed by many of the staff, I cannot express the genuine kindness, tenderness, and professionalism I received.I have experienced the loss of several pets, but I have never experienced the concern and love.Had I known about this passionate, loving practice, I would have driven from Baldwinsville to have my girl cared for all the years I had her because I know she would have been cared for and treated with the best there is.I thank everyone at this practice from my heart and soul.
Dr. Bailey is absolutely amazing with both my puppy and cat who has health problems. Her bedside is amazing and she always takes the time to explain everything I’m detail and take time with me and my pets to make sure I understand. They first visit they had with her she sat right on the ground and waited for them to come to her to make sure they were comfortable with her. Love Dr. Bailey!!! -Gizmo and Duke’s furmom
I just moved here from California and was in the market for a new veterinary care place for my dog. After looking around, I saw that this place not only had stellar reviews but was also extremely close to home, so I figured it was a win-win.This place is fantastic! Clean and spacious, with little waiting cubicles in the lobby that can help nervous pups like mine feel a little bit less exposed. The only thing that made me nervous was a couple who brought their cat in with no carrier, just carrying it in their arms. That’s not the practice’s fault, of course, but I was nervous for that kitty in case an exuberant dog or a sudden noise startled him. But again, that’s not really on the clinic and I know they encourage and ask everyone to have their pets contained, and I digress to mention it, heh.The staff is wonderful. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and informative. My pup is a bit on the shy side and they really took the time to make him feel comfortable and approached him on his own terms, which I appreciated! He got lots of treats and praise, two of his favorite things ever. They took him in back and did their procedures on him, and when I got him back he was at pretty much the same level of nervousness as when he left with them, which is excellent for him as he is a somewhat nervous fella. The vet was great, alas I forget who it was that we saw or who our tech was, but both of them were absolutely wonderful. Again, very friendly and extremely informative, breaking down everything they thought I should get for my pup who is now living in a new region of the world. Thanks to everyone at Fairmount Animal Hospital, my mind is now at ease because my pet has a great place to get care!
Always a super positive experience. Recently took my cat in for urgent care hours and they were very thorough to ensure he was alright. The vet and other staff were very nurturing to the cat and understanding. The assistant got me water while I was waiting for blood work to come back, and the vet actually sat on the floor with me to explain the results while I was comforting my cat. Definitely thorough and gave me a peace of mind that my cat was going to be okay.
Took my new puppy there after inquiring among friends and family about local veterinary services. FAH had the best and most positive reviews. I have not been disappointed. We have been there several times and I find their staff to be super friendly and they take personal interest in all the pets they see. The follow up calls and reminders they send are timely and help make my life easier. And my lab loves going there. 5 star rating.
My visits are always great. Dr Lee has been treating Casey for 13 1/2 years and every visit is wonderful. She shares knowledge, personal experiences, options, and makes sure we understand everything. She is always gentle and patient. We love FMH! ALL the doctors are very patient and go above and beyond - I can’t imagine taking my dogs anywhere else.
Setting up an appointment for rabies, Lyme & heartworm for my dog was nearly impossible. I cant imagine an emergencyThe pandemic really set VCA back. Going to the office instead of calling was more successful as the managing of call ins cant be handled. What made it tolerable was the kindness & common sense of one of the staff members who was apathetic & very kind. She had humor & honesty that we all need to work together in pararelling our ideas to get through this tough times with our loving pets & for that I am forever greatfull.
Fairmount Animal Hospital has been there through the years and all the wellness visits. I had my first experience dealing with emergency services. The communication was amazing and made the situation a little less stressful. Thank you all. We truly appreciate all you do and your compassionate care.
I have (unfortunately) had to come three times during the pandemic for my two cats. One had an allergic reaction to flea bites and the other managed to get inside the wall and had a reaction to fiberglass. I am new to Syracuse and no one would take in my kitty because it wasn’t considered an emergency. Fairmount not only scheduled her in quickly but the doctor spoke to me on the phone for a long time about what could have caused the reaction as well as my options to alleviate her symptoms and preventative measures too. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. I’ve had three different vets work with me and they were all knowledgeable and patient with my many questions and concerns. I had to go twice for the after hours urgent care and even though you have to wait the process is professional and they keep you out to date throughout. I cannot recommend this animal hospital enough. Each time I had to go I knew my cats were getting very best care. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
I love this vet and every experience I’ve ever had has been positive. They always say how cute and well behaved our dog is, makes me so happy!! I don’t find them to charge more, I think they price things accordingly, they never try to find things “wrong” with my dog to try to get more money. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the covid process has been easy. Couldn’t recommend them more!!
We have been clients of Dr. Lee, Dr. Corrigan and Dr. Markham and have had a long standing relationship with FAH for years. The doctors, and their staff (Taylor, Angela, Nicole, Ernesa, Kristi, hospital manager Sean just to name a few) consistently provide compassionate care for both animals and their people. Dr. Markham recently helped us with end of life care and her dedication to making the experience as peaceful as possible for all involved was something I will forever be grateful for.
We absolutely love Fairmount Animal Hospital. Dr. Bailey is an amazing veterinarian, she makes all of our dogs feel comfortable. Even our big nervous guy who gets anxious. It’s also the cleanest veterinarian office we have ever been in. And all of the staff is kind and caring.
I have used Fairmount Animal Hospital exclusively since my first cat, about 20 years ago. The front staff is pleasant and helpful, and the doctors empathetic and knowledgable. Each time Ive brought one of my cats in, the cat and I have been treated as if we are the only customer they ever see. There are enough Doctors to keep wait time down to about 15 minutes. The (relatively) new building has a huge waiting room with small, padded benches, cleverly arranged with low walls and angled so as to minimize animal interactions. The whole practice has been flexible and patient. I recommend the practice without reservation.
We have had excellent care from the vets and staff at Fairmount Animal Hospital for our dog and would not hesitate to recommend them. And a special shout out to Dr. Bailey and all the vets who have treated Wolfgang. There is peace of mind knowing they have Urgent Care hours and quality care is nearby.
We cant say enough about the doctors and staff at Fairmount Animal Hospital. We have been going there for years, seen many of the docs and love them all.We currently have a new dog from Helping Hounds who is dealing with a lot of anxiety. She has been treating with Dr. Bailey and we couldnt be happier. She is so patient, gentle and kind to our pup and takes time to explain options and treatments to us.Thanks to everyone at FAH for the great care they give.
We have being taking our pets to Fairmount Animal Hospital for over 25 years, and needless to say, we are very pleased with their care. Everyone on the entire staff – Dr. Losito and all the other veterinarians as well as the technicians and receptionists – have always been warm, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring. Their larger new building is a top notch state-of-the art animal hospital with a comfortable reception area as well. Their expanded staff and extended hours make appointments more accommodating for us, so our pets can receive care when needed.Everyone at Fairmount Animal Hospital truly loves animals, and they treat our pets as if they were their own. At each of our visits, they take the time to fully examine them pets, explain procedures and offer advice. They also take note of each of our pet’s unique personalities, so they can best treat each of them in the most effective and least upsetting manner. Most importantly, we’ve been through difficult times as our pets aged. Everyone on the Fairmount Animal Hospital staff was especially understanding, compassionate and comforting. In short, we love Fairmount Animal Hospital, and gratefully appreciate having them as our veterinarians. We highly recommend Fairmount Animal Hospital. We know your fur babies will definitely receive excellent care there.
The staff at fairmount animal hospital are so kind, caring, and compassionate about their work. We have had the best experiences with Dr. Logan especially, who is a one of a kind Veterinarian. She takes the extra time to really explain information thoroughly, and in a way that is easy to understand. She made our puppy feel right at home, and actually looks forward to going to the vet! She goes above and beyond the basics of pet care, and makes sure your pet will have everything they need to be healthy and happy. It is a great feeling knowing you can put all of your trust into someone when it comes to your furbabies. Thank you Dr. Logan!
I cannot say enough good things about this practice. The entire staff is kind, compassionate, and well qualified. It is such a relief to have a local vet that I truly trust with the health and wellbeing of beloved dogs. I highly recommend Fairmount animal hospital to anyone looking for top notch medical care for their pets.
Hoping I can write a review worthy of this state of the art facility, and equally top notch doctors & entire staff! From the person at the front desk who takes your call, to the person who greets you & your pet when you arrive, to the friendly techs who take your info for the vet seeing your pet, to the best vets on the planet & beyond...I simply cannot say enough about this incredible animal hospital! Ive been there numerous times since August 15, for both routine and urgent care...and, have always received the best care & consideration anyone could ask for. Especially since many of my cats were originally feral, making them somewhat more difficult to handle than the average domesticated kitty. Even though weve had the pleasure of meeting only about half of the doctors on staff, Im sure everyone there deserves very high kudos! I absolutely love Dr Bailey...her knowledge, compassion & sense of humor is amazing. Dr Markham is wonderful, and has the dubious distinction of treating the meanest cat Ive ever owned...more than once, and always with a smile. Dr Logan once rearranged her entire schedule, in order to neuter a feral cat who had just been humanely trapped...on a busy Saturday morning, so that he wouldnt have to make the trip back in. Dr Corrigan is beyond sweet & kind, and took care of the same kitty once...being the first person ever, to really be able to handle him without the need of anesthesia. From the bottom of my heart, I am forever grateful to have such an awesome place in this area...and, would fully recommend them to anyone!
I took my dog to urgent care. The staff, the environment, and most importantly the veterinarians were great! I felt so happy to find a place that could see my dog and care for him as it was their own after recently moving to a new city. You guys were great and we are definitely going back to you!
Dr. Bailey and Stacey were excellent in assisting with Bunny, as I was very anxious regarding the scratch on his cornea. I had come in to the urgent care and we were taken care of immediately (being the only ones there at the time), and my bunny is doing much better already. I was actually shocked that the prices were so low, considering theres a $98 fee for it being after hours, so that alone was a relief. I will be bringing him back for neutering and routine care, and will very likely be bringing my cat in as well. I was very happy with how we were treated there. Thank you again, Dr. Bailey and Stacey!!
Excellent experience overall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dr Bailey was very compassionate and caring to not only my cat but to me also. What I loved the most is that she got down on the floor with my cat to exam him so he wouldnt feel any more scared or stressed than he was. She and the staff were very gentle and talked to my cat while doing the exam...all of which Ive never experienced anywhere else that Ive taken any of my animals. I would 100 percent recommend you or anyone to bring ur furbabies here. You wont be sorry.
We have had very positive experiences at Fairmount. We see Dr. Andrea Lee, who is very helpful and had some great suggestions for the separation anxiety our current rescue dog has. I think one of the best services Fairmount did for us was to come to our house when it was time to say goodbye to our beloved 14 year old beagle. They have a very caring staff, even when we are just visiting for a nail trim! Recommend!
I have been taking my fur babies to Fairmount Animal Hospital for years. When I had to say goodbye to two of my dogs, they came to my house as one of them could not physically make the trip to their facility. They were so kind and supportive and I will never forget their professionalism during that very stressful and sad time in my life. I would never take my kids to anyone else! Thank you everyone at Fairmount A.H.
We love Dr. Corrigan, she has been caring for our fur babies since 1999. She is supportive and knowledgeable; she understands the balance between quality and quantity when it comes to your furry family member. Every person we encounter there is awesome. The facility is beautiful, spacious, and clean. We needed the Urgent Care this past week and they were amazing! Dr Bailey was patient and kind, not only with our very unhappy 15 y/o beagle but also with our very worried kids.
The staff and veterinarian that we saw during Urgent Care hours were absolutely incredible. Though we are with another vets office, they took us right in and swiftly got our info so that they could treat my cat. He was exceptionally cared for by their wonderful vet and vet tech, who diagnosed and treated his eye. The facility was sparkling clean and welcoming also.
Recently, I took my cat Molly to Fairmount Animal Hospital to have her teeth cleaned. Dr. Logan was the vet who performed the cleaning. She was AWESOME! While Dr. Logan was doing the cleaning, she noticed a sore on Mollys tongue. Dr. Logan called me right away and discussed this issue with me. I did have the sore removed and everything turned out ok.I have six animals and take all six to Fairmount Animal Hospital. I highly recommend them. Every staff member is so friendly! All are available to answer questions and any concern that I have had with one of my pets is quickly handled.I actually have been going here for years and will continue to take all of my pets and any future pets here.
I have been bringing my cats here for many years and I trust them with the care of all my cats! All the staff is great and are always there to help also. Dr. Eileen Fatcheric is my vet and is awesome at making you feel at ease and takes good care of my cats and keeping them healthy and happy!
We love Fairmount Animal Hospital! Our favorites are Dr Corrigan and Dr Bailey, but we have never had a bad experience when offered another doctor. They are so knowledgeable and truly show they care about us and our animals. Our dogs are never afraid to be at the vet, as I have experienced in the past at other offices... They actually tend to beg to go in back with the doctors and techs. This office even helped me through my I dont like cats but this cat that lives with me is sick situation, and were totally understanding and did not come up with an overly expensive treatment plan. I would not trust my animals with any other vet, and whats better is they have late urgent care hours for most late evening accidents or illnesses. I dont have enough great things to say about this office. Thanks for taking such great care of our animals! Kady, Winnie, Joey, Buddy, and Moo Moo love you!
Overall really bad based on my experience. A technician was quite rude and didn’t sound professional to me. Dr. Lee doesn’t seem to care about the well-being of the dogs at all as she kept on delaying the process of getting back to me on my dog’s report. Another vet I met told me K9 Advantix II is enough and I don’t need any further monthly treatment for my dog but I have literally just found out (after the whole summer has almost passed!) it doesn’t cover heart worm so my dog is in high risk thanks to her!
Great experience! the vet I saw (Dr.Lee) was so compassionate and caring for my little girl. She really went the extra mile, more than any other vet Ive ever been to. The waiting area has private little cubicles, and the reception staff so friendly! My sister recently had to put down her (our) beautiful dog, and they made the experience as comforting as possible. Of course any vet is going to be expensive, but they really were quite reasonable.
Dr.Corrigan and Nicole are the nicest people! That are knowledge and professional .😁 They are both ALWAYS so kind to us and our dog, who can be difficult. The office staff is always helpful and pleasant. I truly feel blessed that we found such excellent people to care for our dog. Thank you 😊!
I recently moved to Syracuse and hadnt found a new vet for my dog. When she developed a serious UTI, Fairmount fit her into their schedule within an hour of me calling to request an appointment. The doctor gave us her full attention while we were there and took her time explaining the diagnosis and treatment. I emailed the office a couple days later with a question and got a very quick response. I will absolutely be using Fairmount as my regular vet and have even convinced family members to switch over.
At the advice of the staff, I recently had nearly all of my small dogs teeth removed due to decay. The vets and techs at FAH are simply amazing. They are incredibly caring and compassionate with my aging dog and are just as kind to me as they assist me with making tough decisions on my pets health. A few days after the oral surgery, my dog has signifantly more energy and seems much, much more comfortable. The ladies here are amazing and I will be a customer for life. Cannot say enough good things about them!
The staff at Fairmount Animal Hospital are very dedicated to caring for the animals they have seen. My dog has been going there since he was 9 weeks old (about 2.5 years now) and I’ve enjoyed every visit at Fairmount. He’s had a couple of urgent care visits and the staff have been incredibly kind and gentle during these difficult visits. The vet techs are all so caring, and I think my dog would go home with Kacey if I would let him (haha). I would recommend Fairmount to anyone!
At first, we werent sure wed like Fairmount Animal Hospital. Prior to becoming clients, wed enjoyed years of personalized attention at a smaller one-vet practice. But when that practice abruptly closed, we were forced to find someone new. Everyone we asked gushed about FHA, noting their expanded hours, compassionate doctors and staff, and focus on continuous improvement of the facility and their offerings. Now weve been taking our fur babies there for several years, and I can say without reservation that FHA lives up to the great reviews. They always find a way to accommodate spur-of-the-moment visits, and its such a relief that they offer Urgent Care and weekend hours. Bonus: they work well with our pet insurance company, faxing forms to ensure that we are reimbursed as quickly as possible! In sum, Fairmount Animal Hospital treats us with the same care that we lavish on our own four-legged family! We love them.
I started taking my dog to Fairmount Animal Hospital as a puppy because that was where he had gone before I adopted him. He has since been many times for regular checkups and a couple of minor complications, and he has seen several of the veterinarians. I have found the entire staff to be very welcoming and helpful, and they truly do seem to care about the well-being of the pets. As an over-worried mom, I have called several times within a day to talk to the doctors and technicians, and they are always willing to listen and offer advice. The facilities are very nice, and the hours accommodate many working schedules. Their only downfall is their prices. Even routine procedures are very costly, but you pay for what you receive.
We have never had a bad experience at Fairmount Animal Hospital. The vets and staff are very compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding. They truly care about their patients. Tucker doesnt mind going to the Vets at all. He just loves Dr. Guest as well as the other staff members. This to us is truly the best reference we can give. Thank you for all your kindness. We would highly recommend Fairmount Animal Hospital and have done so numerous times.
Best vets for the chronic issues with my English bulldog. We drive 20+ minutes to get there but the care is worth the drive. When we dont get to see Dr. Guest, we get the vet we get. All have been more than qualified with my dogs issues. I really appreciate their honesty about knowing/not knowing an issue. Also good at reviewing treatment options and costs.
We have been taking our Dobermans and our cats to Fairmount Animal Hospital for over 20 years, and continue to be amazed by the wonderful care the pets receive. Our primary doctor is Eileen Fatcheric, but every single one of the vets is outstanding. They obviously love their patients, and have shared in our joys and sorrows over the years. It isnt unusual for one of the vets to tell us about the latest research or procedures in the field, and they always let us know about different care options based on level of cost and medical intervention. Usually the vet herself calls us to inform us of test results, so we can always ask questions directly. We have been to many veterinary practices, and this is by far the best. Thank you for all you do!
We brought our Pepper Ann in for her shots and we are very pleased with the professional way we were all treated. Our girl is a real nervous dog but the staff was exceptionally good with her and she didn’t get frightened at all. Thank you to all the Doctors and staff for making Pepper Ann’s visit exceptional.
We have taken our dog to Fairmount since he was adopted. They are great at keeping him calm during the visits, and have helped keep him happy and healthy for 5+ years now. We have used them for boarding in the past as well, and had no worries that he would be in great hands during our time away. I would highly recommend anyone in the area with pets take them to Fairmount Animal Hospital for their care.
I can’t explain how excellent this animal hospital is. My kitten had some very strange symptoms and Dr. Guest was unbelievably caring and helpful for my little baby. Although it was a very unique and difficult situation, she did not give up on the case. She was very determined to help my little Ron. I will always recommend this facility to everyone I know that has pets. It is such a clean and caring place for your animals! Thank you Dr. Guest and staff! :)
When I moved to the Camillus area, I needed to find a vet for our pets. I asked co workers and was told about Fairmount Animal Hospital. On the first visit we met Dr Sarah Guest and I was set. My husband and I are from the Ithaca area and were able to make a great connection with Dr Guest right away. She has been absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I have no concerns when I leave that I have had the best care possible!I have the most respect for Dr Guest and highly recommend her and her team to care for my pets. There isnt a visit that we havent laughed about something...HIGHLY recommended!!!As my pets know her: Dr Sarah, Thank you Dr Sarah!!!
My rescue dog Nibbles has had her teeth cleaned twice now. Prior to having them done her breath was very strong. They did find a couple of teeth each time that needed to be extracted. Both times they took excellent care of her and followed up to see how she was the next day. I highly recommend having dental work done as a regular part of your dogs health routine.
Amazing staff. Super friendly. Beautiful vibe, I loved it. The assistant my cat had before the vet came in was very informational and even though my cat was stressed and scared crapless he still cared for her and was very sweet and gentle. The vet was amazing and my baby girl took a liking to her sweet voice giving her assurance everything will be alright. Thank you so much! Very amazing first impression and we have decided to make this location our only location for our furbaby.
I recently had a hamster put down at this animal hospital. The staff was so unbelievably nice and caring about it and were so comforting during the situation. They did a wonderful job with the paw prints and I couldnt be anymore happy with the service I recieved there. I take my two guinea pigs here too and they never fuss with the doctor. If you are a small pet owner in this area, this is the most incredible place to come.
Since I moved to Syracuse in 2004, I have always taken my pets to Fairmount Animal Hospital. The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable about options, so that you can choose the care best suited for both your pet and your family. I boarded my dog Ginger there, and she was always happy to see them. When she died, the staff grieved with me, and treated my loss like a loss in the family (which is was). They did the same with my cats. I cannot thank them enough for their loving care and concern for both me and my pets. I recommend them to my friends, and encourage anyone seeking great vets and care for their animals to check them out.
Incredibly welcoming place. The receptionist came around to give my yellow lab hugs and pets to help him relax while we were waiting. Vet was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in detail to me as she did the checkup. Vet tech kind to my pup and to me! Its rare to find a vets office that knows both how to be kind to your pet AND to treat humans nicely too. Really cant recommend this place more.
I cannot say enough about the care and compassion my cats receive at Fairmount Animal Hospital!! Our first experience there involved an emergency for one of my cats when our prior veterinarian had retired. We got an appt quickly at Fairmount on a Saturday morning and we couldnt have been happier with the care we received that day and every since for both of our cats. I really love how the vets follow up with phone calls for progress reports when one of our cats is being treated for an illness. That means a lot to my husband and I!
We stumbled upon this establishment when our dog hurt himself after hours! Since then we have had our dog there 2x and for a dental cleaning. Our cat was sick and we took her there also. We left the vet I had been going to for 25 years after our interactions with Fairmount. Dr Lee and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s an up to date facility with comparable prices to older not updated technology vet offices. Clean and very accommodating. I can not say enough good things about this place and Dr Lee. I was sad our dog hurt himself but so grateful we found this place for our animals!
I am very happy with the care my cats receive at Fairmount Animal hospital. The doctors and staff are very compassionate and kind. They have been so helpful to me in carrying out treatment for my special needs cats and are very good about checking in with us. The staff really do care and I completely trust them with my pets. I highly recommend Fairmount Animal hospital; where your pets are treated like family.
I began bringing my dog to Fairmount Animal Hospital 3 years ago when I moved to the area. My dog sees Dr. Guest and I can not recommend her enough. She is very caring and personable. Dr. Guest takes the time to explain everything to you and covers all the bases. My appointments take longer than other places I have gone to in the past but that is because they are extremely thorough. The fees at Fairmount Animal Hospital are also higher than other places but I will gladly pay more and cut more time out of my day for the thoroughness and heart that Fairmount Animal Hospital provides. A pet is part of the family and that is just how they are treated there. You can tell that they really love what they do!!If you want a cheap and quick vet appointment then Fairmount Animal Hospital is not for you but just remember, you get what you pay for and for quality care, expect to pay more for a longer appointment. If quality care is what you value, then Fairmount Animal Hospital is for you!!
I took Frasier, our Yorkshire Terrier, to urgent care and had a great experience with Fairmount Animal Hospital. I also take him for regular appointments. We always get taken in immediately and we are given great options for care. Thank you to your lovely staff! ARF! love, Frasier
I could not be happier about how well my kittens (and I!) were treated at Fairmount Animal Hospital. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. My kittens did not seem to be stressed in the least by their first vet visit, and they enjoyed the cuddles and attention that they received from the techs and the vet. FAH treats their animal and human clients exceptionally well, and I am grateful for their quality care.
Our cat Winston had a localized cancer on his right foreleg. Dr. Logan had to remove the leg. She called as soon as he was out of surgery to assure us it had gone well. We got him the next day, then they called and wanted us to bring him back in the day after that just to be sure he was doing well. Every person on their staff has been so kind and caring. I love this practice!
When our 8 year old border collie had a seizure I was encouraged to take her to Fairmount Emergency. Addi received excellent care, Dr. Bailey was kind, gentle and patient with Addi and her two anxious parents. From the time I called to the time we left I felt the staff was compassionate and professional. Hopefully I wont ever have to, but if needed I would definitely bring her here again.
Although they got more expensive when they opened the new place...Dr. Markham went above & beyond on trying to figure out what was wrong with my Hope. She worked from mid-October 2020 to her death April 9th to find the answers. She NEVER gave up on her!She was there for Hopies last breath and gave the support to my grief and that of my other dog, Spike. I can never repay her, or Heidi for this..Trust them for the right care of your pet.
I have been taking my pets to Fairmount Animal Hospital for a number of years now. All the staff is kind and compassionate with me as well as the dogs and cat. While Dr. Corrigan is my main doctor, I have had good experiences with other doctors when Ive had to get in quickly. Everyone communicates what is going on, answers questions and returns calls as quickly as possible. I would strongly recommend Fairmount Animal Hospital to anyone who asked me
I have been bringing my 3 dogs and 2 cats to Fairmount Animal Hospital for about 3 years now. On our very first visit, we saw Dr. Lee with our new dog that we had just adopted. Dr. Lee was very pleasant and we were thoroughly pleased. On our second visit, we saw Dr. Guest. Well, words cant say how amazing we think she is. She has a superb personality and interacts amazingly with all of our fur-babies, so we decided from then on that we would schedule all of our future appointments with her. Having 5 animals, I see her frequently. I love to hear her stories about her own 2 dogs that she loves more than life itself and her sisters cat. She clearly has a passion for animals and I always know that she takes care of my animals the same as she cares for her own. She is extremely knowledgeable and always advises you of all of your options and makes recommendations, but lets you make your own decisions, and isnt pushy. She is also always quick to return a call and give you advice over the phone, rather than making an unnecessary visit to the office. When we had to make the hard decision to euthanize our precious dog Beauty, Dr. Guest was not working that day. The doctor that we saw (I cannot remember her name...but we love her too) was amazing. She was everything we needed that day. When Dr. Guest realized the next day that we had been in the day before, she called me and said her condolences. She also had taken the time to review the files and x-rays and assured us that we had made the right decision. That really meant a lot to us in that hard time.I have always been able to bring my animals right in for emergency visits (as long as they are open) and they will take you right in. I have seen several of the other doctors during emergency visits, and I have always received excellent care from all of them.Lets not forget the rest of the amazing staff! In coming here for 3+ years, I recognize almost every staff member...receptionists, assistants, technicians. I believe most of these folks have worked there for longer than the 3 years I have been around, which is a comforting feeling. Every interaction I have had with the receptionists has always been 100% perfect...always pleasant, always knowledgeable, always accommodating! The same can be said for the veterinary assistants. While they are in the exam room assisting the doctor, they are always spending the whole time giving my fur-babies lots of lovin...so when they have to take them into the back for a blood draw or nail trim, I know theyre receiving the same respectful, polite, gentle care.To comment on a few other things...I dont think their prices are high (as other comments have suggested). I believe the prices are right in line with other top-of-the-line animal hospital veterinarian clinics in the area. I do agree with other commenters and think the appointments take longer than other clinics Ive been to, but I always leave knowing my pet has received an absolutely thorough examination and all of my questions have been answered. This is one of the reasons I love coming here. The appointments almost always run right on time and we rarely have to wait...but when we do have to wait, its nice that you can help yourself to their complimentary bottled water and coffee (my husbands favorite part).Dr. Guest and staff-Thank you for all that you do. We truly appreciate it!
The amazing staff at Fairmount Animal Hospital saved our puppy. We brought her home and unfortunately the beeeder turned out to be less than reputable and our girl had CPV. Thanks to the treatment she received from the staff here, she is more energetic than ever and ready for a long healthy life with our family!
Staff is very friendly. One reason I left CNY vet is because the girls up front were extremely rude and inattentive. Also the doctors rushed through our visits. I’m glad I made the right choice with FAH. Our vet Dr.Lee is also amazing and explains everything thoroughly. Whenever we come with a concern, they try to get to the root of the problem. Not just hand a pill or service for the time being, which is great. The vet techs are extremely nice and handle our Mila very well even when she’s very nervous and difficult. I love the updates and reminder emails as well. 10/10
I am new to this area and was hesitant about where to take my dog for his first vet visit. I live near by Fairmount Animal Hospital and saw some of the great reviews it had so I decided to take the chance there and it was definitely worth it. The staff and vets were very nice and took great care of my big guy! For my first experience at a vet it was definitely a pleasant and enjoyable one. I now have a new pup, which I will definitely be taking there too.
All of the people here are amazing. I lost my 7 year old GSP due to the idiotness of another Vet place. Dr Bailey & all of the staff are amazing. I brought my other dog for her regular appointment because of course I was not going to go back to that other vet place and it was a wonderful experience. I even approached them about donating something for an upcoming pancreatic cancer event that I was in charge of and they generously donated a beautiful basket probably valued over $200 what an amazing group of people and what an amazing veterinarian hospital. Highly recommend it!!👍🏻👍🏻
We first became clients when one of our cats showed signs of a UTI/kidney infection the very day our previous vet was closing his doors for good. It was 6pm that night when we discovered our cats illness. With our records in one hand and the phone in the other, we scrambled to find a vet that was open and would take her. Fairmount Animal Hospital was open and a lovely young woman with a British accent answered, calming our fears and making an appointment for us. The doctor we saw was so kind, knowledgeable and took care of our precious girl. We will never forget that moment of panic and need when we had no vet and a sick cat. The amazing staff of Fairmount Animal Hospital was there for us when we needed them the most. We have been going to Fairmount Animal Hospital for three years now and have been very happy clients (and kitties) ever since!
I have been taking my pets to Fairmount Animal Hospital for almost Twenty years. I would not go anywhere else. My first dog Molly was well looked after there. My second dog we rescued through Labs for Rescue. He was seven weeks old and the first place I took him was to Fairmount Animal Hospital. My Bailey has had a few problems and the Doctors and staff have handled them all very well. I trust them with my dog, they teat him like he is part of there family. Five stars to Fairmount Animal Hospital.
Ive been going to Fairmount Animal Hospital for 25 years. Ive been happy with the care my dogs have received. I like Dr Losito in particular. She provided compassionate care for our first dog as he advanced in years and became terminally ill. I always felt she treated him the way she would treat her own dog.Now our second dog is a senior and doing great. I feel that Dr Losito stays on top of things and is current in anything that will help keep him healthy. I highly recommend Fairmount Animal Hospital .
Thank you to Dr. Bailey and Sarah for taking such great care of our girl over the weekend. Despite new protocol for our visit during the current health crisis, they managed to connect with us and provide us with the care and answers we needed. Dr. Bailey was especially kind and caring! Thank you for continuing to serve the pets and families in our community during these uncertain times. It means more than you know!
I highly recommend Dr. Lee! She took care of both of our dogs and today helped us with our old boy Lucky cross the Rainbow Bridge into his heavenly resting place. NEVER have I met a staff so compassionate and understanding. They were so patient with us and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They catered to our emotional needs and went above and beyond. Thank you for making this difficult time easier for us.
I could not be any happier with the staff here. They took great care of my dog and really took the time to make sure we were all set. I knew that they really cared about my dog and that they wanted to give him the best care they could. I am glad i switched over to them and wish i would have done it a long time ago.
Would like to start of by saying thank you to Dr Corrigan and lindsay I believe that was the techs name for the amazing and profession and caring treatment you provided to my cat Sassy who we wind up putting down. Sassy was not a established ot but they treated her as well as us with welcome arms. I have another cat and a dog who have been going to Fairmont for years. The staff are very respectful and professional and caring and love there jobs and take pride and it shows. You all made a bad day a bit easier to cope and get thru. Dr bailey is my vet but as I said all are great. Dr bailey as well as the other vets take the time to explain and put in words which pet owners can understand. Just want to say thank you for being who you are. You are the best. Thank you dr Corrigan and lindsay my son and I appreciated all you did to make our girl comfortable .
My husband called early this moring for an emergency vet visit and was told no appt available until 6 pm. He described the symptoms, they could have made time to see him or tell us to go immediately to the emergency vet. Instead it was more important to keep everyone on schedule. My dog died less than 4 hours after calling them. Not good. If a dog came in as an emergency during my scheduled appt, I hope I would feel compassion and wait as needed.
Weve taken our cats to different Animal Hospitals over the years based on where we have lived. I can say that Fairmount Animal Hospital has provided the best service by far compared to the other places. From the front desk when youre greeted as you enter, to the techs and vets who provide genuine attention and care to each of the animals, by far the best service out there. Highly recommended!
Great staff! Everyone is friendly and caring.Dr. Corrigan is the best! But, no matter who you see, you are in good hands. They all genuinely care about my pet. We drive 1/2 hour just to see the Vets here. Well worth it.Clean and large facility. Location is easy to find and convenient.
I love the staff and service at Fairmount hospital. Never have I had a negative experience. Dr. Lee helped our family through a tragic illness earlier this year, with grace and professionalism. I would like to note the prices are more costly than a human seeing a doctor. I do trust the staff and veterinarians but I do find myself scratching my head when I get my bill. My wifes manicures are less expensive than my dogs nail clippings. Nearly $500 for an infection. Bottom line, I will bring my animal here, as long as I can afford it, which might not be much longer.
09/15/19 -Absolutely amazing. First off, thank you Emily for being so sweet on the phone and helping me out. A huge huge huge thank you to Dr. Jennifer Bailey for helping out my baby. My black cat Poofy was really sick and she was so helpful and knew what it was right away. Thank you for spending all those years in school to help all of our babies!!! 10/10 recommend.
I have always had a pleasant experience with Fairmount Animal Hospital. I use to go to another local vet and one day my cats eye was a mess and appeared to be infexted. I called my vet at the time and they couldnt fit me in and told me to go the the ER with my cat or wait until Monday (it was Friday). I hung up and called Fairmount and they had me in with an appointment within a half hour. Every since that day, Fairmount now has all my business. I transferred all my pets to Fairmount. They genuinely wanted to help and they did. I cant say enough about the service I receive there. I dont feel like a number.
I have been bringing my pets to Fairmount Animal Hospital for over 20 years.Eileen-Fatcheric-Burns has been the best Vet I could ever ask for.Professional, friendly, compassionate and overall, has always had the best care and advice for me and my pets!I highly recommend them and they will always be my first choice!
I have taken all my pets over the years to FAH, and Dr. Lee is fantastic!! Great experiences with the other vets as well when Dr. Lee hasn’t been available. When it was time to say goodbye to my almost 19 year old cat, Dr. Markham was so compassionate and truly sympathetic. The staff is all very caring and sincerely care for the animals!
Last year we had complications with one of our puppies. When Fairmount told us it would cost $1500 just to save the 8 week old we thought hard about the cost. We didnt have $1500 to put towards a puppy that we would be giving away to someone else. Fairmount and the doctors their told us that the dog had a less than 50 percent chance of making it however we decided to go ahead with the procedure anyways. When it came time to pick the puppy up they told us it would be best to keep the dog there over night again to preform a few more tests. Again we though about the cost. At this point it was going to be close to $2500. We told the vets we wouldnt be able to do that. What they did next earned my respect for years to come. They all pulled together and raised money to allow the surgery to be paid for. I am glad to report the puppy has done well and is now with a great family all because of the work of Fairmount animal hospital.
We are very lucky to have found this practice - and our cat Mr. Jingles is a lucky kitty as well. Jingles has some challenges, and Dr. Bailey comes to our hose to take care of him. Hes getting great care from her, but what makes it exceptional is the degree of trust that he places in her. You can see it in his eyes, and how he cooperates. That is the mark of an excellent doctor. Every interaction with FAH has been great, the are wonderfully competent, and genuinely caring folks.
DO NOT USE THIS VET PRACTICE! I never write reviews, especially bad ones. I understand that a business is someones livelihood and I prefer to work out any differences privately. Todays visit to FAH changed my mind. With so many animal practices in the area, save your time, money and your pets by choosing a different vet. Find one who will be professional, respectful and thorough.
After more than four years of hating trips to vets offices, I’m relieved to have discovered Fairmount Animal Hospital. I’m sure I am but one of many who thinks his/her pet is “special.” But all the staff catered to and were caring toward my dog. We’ve finally found “our” home for pet care! THANK YOU!
I brought my dog in for a blood draw to check med levels. When I cashed out the charge was &200.15..I had no idea it would be so much. When i questioned the amount, the receptionist simply said the sample was going to Cornell...As if i should have known. I think i should have been made aware of this when i made the appointment..We all love our animals and want them to have the best care but please give customers estimates..It seems to me it isnt about helping animals anymore. The Vets are in it for the money. I have a lot of faith in Dr. Guest and am happy with the care she gives Snoopy but the business needs to think about the customers too.
Ive been very happy with the care my pets have received from both Dr. Losito and Dr. Bailey. Dr. Bailey has been extremely helpful lately in some tough situations with my two dogs and is very attentive to not only their needs, but how their health impacts my life as well. It makes me feel great to know that they are not only receiving great medical care, but compassionate care as well.
My girlfriend and I drove 37 miles to Fairmount Animal Hospital late one evening after our local vet turned us away due to a miscommunication. We needed to have our much loved furry family member put to sleep. Even though it was after hours, we were greeted with kindness and compassion. At no point were we made to feel rushed or that it was a mere business transaction. It was a comfortable environment to say our last goodbyes. Throughout the entire process the staff members handled themselves with professionalism and explained every detail thoroughly prior to proceeding. They even took the time and effort to send a card at a later date that was full of handwritten sympathies from multiple employees.Thank you all at F.A.H., I applaud the way you do business. You made a terrible evening and tough situation a little more comfortable for our family. Im so glad we decided to make the drive.
I have been taking my furry family to Fairmount Animal Hospital for over 30 years. They are amazingly kind and compassionate. They treat our animals as their own. Dr. Eileen Fatcheric even cried with me when we had to put our dog, Juliet to sleep. Even now, 15 years later, she still mentions Juliet. Now thats a great Doctor!! I wouldnt go any place else!!!
My dog was developing a cough that had me worried, so I called and made an urgent care appointment here. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful. They agreed that his cough was worth checking out, and explained that kennel cough is going around. The facility seems large and modern, and they hustled us into an open room in case my pup was contagious. Dr. Logan was helpful and knowledgeable and put me at ease. Im sure I will be back!
Our dog and two cats have been patients at Fairmount Animal Hospital for more than 5 years. All of the staff members from the front desk to the techs to the vets are welcoming and friendly. The new facility is very clean and spacious. The prices are a bit higher than we have paid with other vets but I would recommend them!
We have had WONDERFUL experiences at Fairmount Animal Hospital. We usually see Dr. Fatcheric, but we have seen other doctors and they are all caring and loving toward our Mango. From the reception staff to the vet techs, everyone is truly warm, friendly and welcoming. We wouldnt go anywhere else and we recommend Fairmount Animal Hospital all the time.
Thank you so much for taking awesome care of my little Ami! I sleep better knowing that your help is nearby. She is much, much better. Thanks to Dr. Logan! I will follow up with my primary vet in regards to further tests. Thank you to everyone that took good care of my little angel 😄
This is such an amazing place!! We recently moved back home to the area and this is the first time i have had a pet living here on my own. I brought one of my dogs in and Dr. Guest was amazing. She was patient as she listened to me describe my dogs skin allergy problem and all the things we have tried. She would ask questions when necessary and ran back through everything to make sure she heard me correctly. Then offered me a new approach to helping my dog feel better and we are currently trying it out for 2 weeks. I told her i had another dog i already had an appointment for but that i needed to change the time because i need to bring him in when it isnt so busy because he isnt very fond of other dogs, especially big one (he was once attacked). She quickly let me know they have special accomidations for situations like this and it was not a problem. I have never received that kind of service before and was in shock. Best experience with a vet i have ever had in the last 11 years owning my oldest pet. I will be a repeat customer forever!!!
We went to Fairmont Animal Hospital with my 14 yr. Old Lab who had a minor injury, after addressing our concerns and a very thorough exam, it was discovered she had cancer. The doctors and staff went way beyond anything I could have imagined to make her remaining time as comfortable as possible. When her time came to cross over Rainbow Bridge their kindness and compassion allowed us to let her go with dignity. I will always be grateful for everyone there.
The staff was very friendly and the doctor was very knowledgeable. My only issue is that it costs about 25 to 30% more to go here than it did to my previous vet. The only reason why I switched him is because my previous of that is 40 miles from me. The cost to bring him to my old vet is significantly lower than Fairmount Animal Hospital
Dr. Jennifer Bailey is an absolute godsend! My youngest cat Ciel was not acting like his normal self. He was clearly dizzy, disoriented and was unable to keep food down. We found out thanks to Dr. Bailey that Ciel had an undiagnosed ear condition that became an infection which made him so sick and lethargic we almost lost him. With the proper medication and ear solution we were able to nurse him back to health under Dr. Baileys supervision. We found out that for the remainder of Ciels life we would have to clean his ears once a week. Although he absolutely hates the experience he has never been sick again since. Thank you Dr. Bailey, you saved my boys life and I am eternally grateful. Everytime I look into his eyes I am reminded of what I almost lost and what I gained as a result of your guidance. Thank you!
Weve used this office for years and are considering a different one now as our dog has an hard time letting anyone get nesr him he would use a muzzle for routine checkups and maintenance care. Last time we went we were told he couldnt get his vaccines without first giving him medication to calm him. Maybe Im old school but the time it takes for all that just pin him and give him the shots and be done with it since hes muzzled he cant bite anyone anyway. I offered to do the holding down myself but it wasnt allowed. Not mad at that part as im sure every place wouldnt allow that but to save visits and time it shouldnt be so hard to get your dog vaccinated. Otherwise this place had our business because the staff was friendly and its close to home also the coffee/tea while waiting I a benefit too. We had 3 animals at that time so the convenience was nice.
We brought our Shi Tzu to the Fairmount Animal Hospital for emergency care recently. The physical environment along with the kind, compassionate care by the staff was very comforting and reassuring during a distressing time. We appreciate the care received and highly recommend them!
Hi ☺️ I have been going here for all my precious dogs past and present. Absolutely wonderful care through the goods times and so extremely heartbreaking times. Thank You.... Every Single Employee.... Every one of you are so amazing and so deeply appreciated. Thank You With All My Heart. Terese Heffernan 💛😇
My regular vet was closed so I took my cat here when he ripped a tube out of his ear after an infection. Dr. Bailey did an amazing job stitching his ear back up and making sure he was comfortable and sent him home with pain medication. If they were closer I would make them my regular vet!
The staff is always very knowledgeable and helpful. Things can get a bit pricey, but Im not sure thats much different from any other veterinary office. I have never had a negative experience at Fairmount Animal Hospital, and plan on being a loyal customer there for as long as I have pets - which will be for as long as I am able to care for any!
Before I provide my review, I want to make a few comments with respect to the negative review that I just read. The comment by one client, “If you want one vet to see your pets, this is not the place” is false. I only use 1 vet, and have never been asked to see another vet. It is true that there are a lot of vets, and the great thing about that is they can collaborate to find solutions for tough problems or rare health issues. This is truly a GREAT animal hospital! Everyone from the Client Care Reps to the Doctors are wonderful to work with. Not only are they helpful, but they always have a smile and make your pet feel special. Debbie, the Hospital Administrator, left me a voice mail to inform me that my food order was in, but also suggested that I contact the food company for coupons. I was unaware that food companies sent coupons, and since I go through approximately 40 pounds of food a month, that was very helpful! The Client Care Reps are friendly, efficient, and go out of their way to provide excellent service. Every Technician and Assistant has made me feel confident that my 165lb dog is in good hands. Dr. Sarah Guest is the doctor that I use, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She takes her time during the office visit and answers all of my questions (and I always come in with a list of them!). I try to marry the allopathic and holistic approach when it comes to my dog’s healthcare program, and Dr. Guest is very accommodating. I frequently leave her voice mails or messages via the Pet Portal and she always responds back promptly. Due to various issues, my dog is there several times a year and sometimes 3 times in any given month. I have since moved to NJ, but still keep Dr. Guest as my vet, and only use a Jersey vet in case of an emergency. That is a testament to my confidence in Dr. Guest and Fairmount Animal Hospital.
Friendly staff but not the most efficient. The vets seem to be in a rush and not as thorough, as we have had to bring both of our dogs in multiple times before they correctly addressed the issue since. Continuously make us wait 30 to an hour for a scheduled apt. If I wasnt here now, I would take my dog elsewhere
Having a health-complicated bulldog is tricky and appreciate the doctors knowing the latest studies and medications. They seem to enjoy my dog when she is in there. They listen to me and believe me, and work WITH me to give me options on what I feel is best for Gertie. I feel heard when I go there. Never talked down to. Feel like I am part of the team for deciding how to proceed with Gerties health. Dr. Bailey and Dr. Corrigan have seen Gertie, and they were wonderful for never seeing her before. I prefer Dr. Guest since she is always there and very knowledgeable. She also is humble enough to not act like an authoritarian or blaming me. It is comforting to know we are on same team looking for best care for Gertie. I drive from Jamesville because I cant imagine anyone being better than Dr. Guest and her colleagues. Tech staff is kind and patient and administrative staff are welcoming and excellent as well.
Caring and patience is something that just comes naturally to Staff and Doctors alike at Fairmount Animal Hospital . Whenever Molly and I have had to visit they made sure she was comfortable and treated with great care. We have often had calls in the evening from the Doctors following up on Mollys daytime visits. Our experience there has always been positive!Russ and Molly ( woof.)
The staff here is as dependable as any you will find anywhere. My 11 Year old Golden “Kal” gets yet another skin infection. July 3rd at 5:30 PM I notice it and by 6:50 PM I had the exact prescription I needed. They were slammed and closing early b/c July 4th. They went well out of their way for me. I sincerely appreciate that. Their COVID process is very solid they really do a very nice job here. Dr. Passantino and the supporting staff were so helpful. Thank you!
I have been a client of theirs for the past 4 years and would have had nothing but lovely things to say about them. Their staff is friendly and the facility itself is beautiful. However- 9 months ago our dogs both got ear infections and they just wouldnt clear up no matter what we did. Multiple visits a month, expensive washes, blood work, treatments and nothing. They finally concluded it must be allergies and we bought the obscenely pricy dog food. But their ears still werent getting any better. Then, while we were on vacation, my parents took it upon themselves to take our dogs to their Veterinary clinic out in the sticks. Ear mites. Our dogs have had ear mites for 9 months and we have been blowing through money like water treating my dogs for things they didnt have.We have spent hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars at their offices this past year because we trusted them. What vet could honestly miss something as simple as ear mites? We will NOT be going back.
I have been coming to Fairmount Animal Hospital for years. The staff is great and extremely proffessional. I always know that my dog is being taken care of when i bring her in for appointments and Dr. Guest is always friendly and answers any questions i have when we come in for appointments.
We have had some great experiences although costly, but when a patients family of 10 years calls with an emergency (dog could not poop) one would think you would call back! We ended up switching records to another vet! Through the years we have had diagnoses of we dont know whats wrong or some pretty expensive tests and procedures to find it was something else. We were told in March that our 10 year old dog needed to be fixed so he could void his bowels properly. We had that done. Lo and behold he was still having problems. Today his problems were so bad he was shaking trying to go. We found out it is a stage 3 perineal hernia and he could die from this. We had 4 animals with you people and the lack of knowledge is astounding although you seem to care very much about the animals you serve, you need to look at the whole picture of the dog. My dog is suffering because of the lack of attention to detailing the lack of medical knowledge of symptoms for a non neutered male. I pray that your staff better dedicates themselves so that other pet families do not have to suffer prematurely. He also has a heart murmur that was not diagnosed in 10 years. How does that happen?
My experiences have always been positive with Fairmount Hospital formy cat Buddy. He always presents a challenge at the vets. He wasadopted at 2 1/2 years and took another two years to settle in our home.He is usually a cat that requires a house call but last week ...he had aproblem and visited the hospital. Dr. Bailey is his regular veterinarian, but he saw Dr.. Lee the other day. She is very calm and he has a medicineI can put in his food for his regular or emergency visits. I highly recommend both these Drs. for uber challenging pts. and guardians.
My dog BooBoo was recently in to see Dr. Bailey for her Senior check. She is now fourteen and a half years old and she gets the ABSOLUTE BEST care from Dr. Bailey. BooBoo LOVES her and its very clear that Dr Bailey LOVES BooBoo just as much. I have no doubt that BooBoo would never have made it to her wonderful old age without the loving care from not only Dr. Bailey, but ALL of the staff at FAH. They always take the time to clearly explain any problems, meds, or helpful tips that will help keep BooBoo comfortable and happy in her senior years. I would NEVER consider taking my pets anywhere but Fairmount Animal Hospital. I have been with them for twenty five years and hope to be for another twenty five!! Thank you FAH for ALWAYS providing the BEST care for my pets!!!
I recently moved back to my old neighborhood after years in other states. My niece recommended these caring people in their gorgeous facility - all grown up from the small practice nearby that I knew as a child. Our first visit was stellar. So much dedication to care and comfort and a stress-free experience! My 11-yr. old Chiweenie, Izzy, is sweet and loving to everybody, except when her claws need attention. Dr. Losito and her assistants took their time to ensure Izzys comfort, and I learned that - in the future - tranquilizers and nail trims best go hand-in-hand for my little girls nerves. We also started supplements for her joints. I couldnt be happier. Lots of vets have fine training and credentials, but when they treat your precious pet as if it was the cutest, sweetest animal they had ever seen, you know youve got something special. In the stress of a big move, I can check Izzys every medical need off my list! Thank you!
All three of my dogs are happy patients of Fairmount Animal Hospital, and I have been taking my pets there for the past 8 years. I do not have loyalty to any particular vet because all of them are personable, knowledgable, and a pleasure to see. The technicians at FAH are top notch as well. I believe that the quality of service (and overall experience as a customer) is worth the prices charged. All staff members are animal lovers and interested in promoting the well-being of their patients. If you decline services offered, which I sometimes do, you are not haggled or harassed. They are great at responding to questions during appointments or returning calls/messages left in between appointments. I would recommend FAH to anyone looking for a vet in the Syracuse area.
6 months ago I adopted my dog from Fairmount. Recently he decided it was a good idea to each a large quantity of items that he could not pass. After a couple of tests and a trip to emergency vet the situation looked grim for Buddy. After a second phone call with the staff at Fairmount they were prepared to perform a procedure in an effort to save his life. Buddy is now fully recovered and back to his old self. Without the utmost professionalism and highest degree of aptitude for their profession at Fairmount he would not be with us today. I cannot be more greatful to their staff for what they did for me that day.
Dr. Bailey was the worst. My cat was dying and I had made arrangements with the vet practice to pay $100 per month towards any outstanding balance Dr. Bailey actually yelled at me behind closed doors with an angry scowl on her face You have to pay each time because I dont get paid until you pay. I explained my situation and she angrily dismissed me and demanded that such an arrangement was not going to work! I was so sad and felt so heartbroken for my cat. This was several years back but it is never too late to tell the truth. She was in a couple of words simply horrible.
FAH is amazing with my dog. We never have to wait long, they listen and never rush us. They even have it in his chart to bring him back to see someone who loves him so she can say hi to him. Theyre great with the fact that I often have to bring my toddlers with me, who love the kids play area and lollipops! I really do love it here.
My husband and I have been married for over 54 yrs. We owned our 1st pet, a dog, after 8 yrs when we bought our house. We promised our 6 children wed do that when we got our own home. That was in May, 1971. Since that 1st dog, we have had a steady succession of beloved furry family members. Dogs, cats, a hamster, a bunny and a couple injured birds till they recovered and were released. All of these were rescued. Most found us, especially cats, and we took them in to our home and our hearts. After that, we took them to Fairmont Animal Hospital to have them examined and checked for problems. Often our Vet bills were as expensive as our Pediatrician visits. In the years our pets have been patients at Fairmont Animal Hospital, we have had multiples at one time or another. Just couldnt refuse a helpless animal. Besides, with 6 children, there was always one who needed someone special. Our furry family members lived good lives. Im proud to say, our dogs were with us 10 to 14 yrs, the cats, 14 to 18. We depended on the Fairmont staff innumerable times to help our pets stay healthy and thru the heartbreak when we had to let them go. Ive never had a bad experience with them and I always trusted their care and advice. Now my husband and I are 77 and 78 and are no longer able to care for multiple pets. We have one crazy cat, Flower, a Tortoise. My husband offte refers to her as the Terrorist. Shes 5 now and believe me, she deserves that nickname.I wouldnt trust anyone else but Fairmont Animal Hospital to care for Flower. They repeatedly proved they love animals too.Sincerely yours,Patricia L Payne. (Mrs) Peter E PayneSyracuse, NY 12/3/2017
My husband and I brought our cat in because he had a lump on his leg. The Dr told us that it was a fatty deposit and charged us almost $300.00 for the visit.Three months later I find out that the whole time she was lying. He has Cancer. Please do yourself a favor find another place to take your pets. If you truly love them look elsewhere for help.
Viewers: please read.About a year ago, November 2013, my familys 3 year old, pure bred, healthy golden had a small cut in her paw (about .25 inches, requiring no more than 3 stitches). As trusting dog owners, we took her to Fairmount Animal Hospital to get stitches. The veterinarians assured us that the proper way to treat her was to put her under anesthesia and cauterize the cut. As trusting dog owners, we complied. Our dog was not kept overnight at the hospital, but was sent home after awakening from the anesthesia. As trusting dog owners, we did not question this protocol. The next morning, our dog had numerous complications: she was not eating, her breathing was shallow, she was not her lively self, and she started bleeding from her nose. After the third phone call to Fairmount Animal Hospital, and being told to wait to try to feed her because she probably was having side affects from the anesthesia, we brought her in at 10 am, where she hemorrhaged and died at the hospital. After her death, we learned that the veterinarians never weighed her before giving her anesthesia. We also learned that she threw up after being given the anesthesia, right before a breathing tube was pushed down her trachea, causing any vomit that still remained in her tract to be pushed down into her lungs, causing aspiration. Not only did we lose a beautiful, healthy puppy, we also lost our trust for Fairmount Animal Hospital, and we do not recommend their care to any dog owner. We had two other vets say they dont understand why FAH gave Nala anesthesia for such a small incision. We think they just needed to fund their new beautiful hospital and were not expecting this procedure to go so awry.
Love Fairmount ANIMAL Hospital! My dog wasnt feeling well, so I called for an appt and explained the symtoms and got in that day. She had a few issues and was put on an antibiotic and bland diet. Dr Passantino explaind everything clearly and compassionately. The staff are friendly and curteous, and I feel that everyone there is caring and professional. Would highly recommendFairmont Animal Hospital to everyone for all your pets care❤!
I take both of my dogs to fairmount animal hospital. I have seen most of the doctors there throughout my visits and have found them all to be knowledgeable and caring. One of my dogs has required two surgeries and fairmount has provided both pre-op and post-op care for him which has been outstanding. They have helped me arrange care with the surgical site and have checked in on him frequently. I am very pleased with all aspects of the care and attention my pets receive.
Fairmount Animal Hospital (FAH) sets the standard...a very high bar... for excellence! Look no further; theyre the best! Why? Professional excellence at every level of service. Fairly priced. Compassionate and caring. Offers all services: vet care, boarding, food/meds, and an after-hours emergency clinic. Everyone at FAH (vets, techs, assistants, staff, etc.) is superb. My testimonial: In relocating from Syracuse to Hawaii, my border collie, Mya, had to be run through a complex gamut of tests, vaccines, treatments, micro-chipping, and overwhelming paperwork. All this was overlain by a 120-day waiting period (home quarantine), done in accordance with strict protocols, in order to enter the State of Hawaii (a rabies-free state). Dr. Bailey and her assistant, JoLynn, were unfazed, engaging this challenge with tenaciously superb attention-to-detail. What heroes! They filled forms, provided comprehensive health documents with original signatures, sent multiple blood draws to Kansas State University (with results reported to the Hawaii Animal Quarantine Office), knew when (and when NOT) to vaccinate or treat, provided letters advising on Myas health challenges, etc., etc! A fine example is Hawaiis requisite Animal Health Certificate, which is comprehensive in nature, requires specific and detailed data, and carries a time-limited authorization; its only good for 10-days, so animal shipment must occur within that time window. The result? It all got done, and done correctly! (While I had gone ahead to Hawaii.) My goodness...what a team!Just one more offering: Myas endorsement. My border collie, Mya, has immune-mediated polyarthropathy (arthritis caused by a compromised immune system), so she cant receive some vaccines. Therefore, she boarded at FAH often and came to know people there well. Shes normally a very quiet dog, but Mya knew the way to FAH and would bark excitedly, with joy, when I would make the turn for the vet. Shes an extrovert and has friends there that she loves! And they love Mya! Its not an exaggeration to say FAH vets saved Myas life...a couple times. Myas smart, and she knows. So there it is. My opinion? On this side of Heaven, you wont find a better place for pets than FAH! As I write this from Honolulu, Im still looking for a job, but thankfully my border collie, Mya, is keeping me company!! Thank you, Dr. Bailey, JoLynn, and everyone else at FAH. Youre the BEST!
I have been going to FAH for almost 3 years now for my german shepherd and again for my 4 month old german shepherd puppy. I do live very close which is great, but more so the staff and doctors and technicians are always pleasant, helpful, time efficient and knowledgable. We see Dr. Guest if she is there but dont necessarily have a preference because all the doctors are so caring and passionate, no matter who sees my dogs they are always well taken care of and the best advice given to their ability. I would recommend them for sure.
My dog had a hematoma in his ear and when noone else would see him. It was a last minute call and they got him right in. Every one was kind and wonderful to him and answered all my questions and concerns to get my boy better. At the end of the visit I was expecting an outrageous bill but it was supper affordable and my dog was going to be feeling better with some meds and rest!
They took such good care of Theo (baby rat) when we brought her in. They did what they could and treated us with nothing but respect and kindness. Unfortunately our new baby passed away and they called to check on her and apologized greatly for our loss. Wonderful people and wonderful environment
We brought our dog Stella into FAH because she was in severe distress. Dr. Markham did a thorough examination and surmised that it might be Addisons disease. She did a superb workup on Stella and her assumption was correct. She oversaw a regimen for Stellas recovery which included an overnight at the Emergency Hospital on Bridge St. Dr. Markham called me from her home to see how Stella had done at the hospital and then she has personally overseen Stellas recovery.Stella is doing great. If not for Dr. Markham, Im certain we would have lost Stella. Dr. Markham is an outstanding contributor to FAH.
It is the first time I brought my dog here, she was limping and from me checking her back right paw I noticed her dew claw missing which caused her to hold up her back paw and limp. So today was her appointment. They didnt even notice her dew claw missing, basically they think its her hip which they stated she has to go back and do xrays of her hip. She has her dew claw on her left leg but its missing from her right leg, the limping leg. So basically they did nothing
These guys are garbage. Nothing nice to say. I took my dog in for a broken leg, where they took x rays, told me his leg needs surgery and referred me to the VMC a week later. The fine vets at the VMC were astonished that Fairmount never set his broken leg as they had said it would be pointless and cause to much pain. Turns out not setting broke his second bone and it was the break to the second bone that required surgery. Of course they needed x rays to confirm this second break and when I called Fairmount pissed off, they were apologetic and promised free treatment to rectify their mistake. Much to my surprise as I was leaving Fairmount for the second time they provided free x rays but charged me for the visit and the new splint they provided a week to late. The surgery was thousands of dollars. Thanks Fairmount animal hospital.
The place has really gone down hill since it got bought by VCA. It’s impossible to get a person on the phone. On more than one occasion the staff answering the phone has been rude and dismissive regarding concerns of my pets. They changed heart worm med and tried tricking me into believing it was cheaper. I’m a loyal customer but if things don’t get better soon we will have to take our pets somewhere else after 4 years of going there.
I love this place they have always helped me out when I needed it ... I had to put my baby to sleep and I can say that Sue did a great job even after they even called me and Sue explained how I did the right thing cause no baby ( they are my children and baby no matter how old they get she was 14 years old ) should go through life not living to the happiest they can be. She made me feel okay with what I did and explained anything I questioned.not much i can say for the animal er I still to this day not okay with the fact I had to put one of my other big baby down cause they never explained nor made me feel okay with it. Recently I had to take my baby Kit in who is a cat and they did a great job with her she was happy and comfortable after her surgery.. They are a bit on the high side for pricing but hey nothing is to much when it comes to my little four legged family.. one way or another I know they need health care too and wanted them to be in good hands .. Again this is my second time with Sue taking care of one of my children and she is wonderful... Thank you all there for being so understanding and helping me when I had no where else to turn ..
I have been taking my pocket pets the Fairmount Anim. Hosp. since March, 2014. Recently I had my beloved mouse Daisy euthanized there. Dr. Bailey and the nurses gave Daisy and me all the time I wanted to have our tearful goodbyes. After, D. Bailey came in and tried to console me for a little bit. Dr. Bailey is my primary doctor with 22-25 visits aprox. She has also sexed whole litters of mice for me and must have seen 80% of the ones Ive owned. Dr. Corrigan is my secondary doctor. Ive seen her 8 times including 3 visits with my last gerbil Kimmy. Bailey and Corrigan are the only 2 doctors at Fairmount that work with pocket pets. They both try to be as helpful as possible. When they are both tied up, Ive been assigned once a piece to Drs. Losito and Markham. D. Losito saw me on an emergency when my runt of a litter Sweetheart was dying. She didnt know what to do and so referred me to Liverpool Village, but it was too late. She later hugged me in sympathy for my loss. D. Markham saw me on another emergency with Browny who we put down. They seemed as empathetic as my two regulars. The nurses, secretaries, kennel girls, etc. are usually as empathetic as the doctors and also do their best. Taylor has a very kind disposition and is the nurse I am normally assigned. Some of the others Ive had good experiences with are Angela, Nicole, Laura, Kristy, Emily, Casey, Kara, Sara, Shawn(tech man) so many.... To top it off, the staff sent me sympathy cards about Sweetheart and her brother Goldylocks who died 2 months after her. They also had trees planted in Tahoe National Forest in memory of both of them!! All in all though they may not have or know everything my pets need, they try to be as helpful and kind as possible.
We had an EM situation with my Almost 20 yr old cat, Sabastian Wed night, they took us right in, took my baby out back for assessment....before we even filled out any paperwork, discussed payment....their concern was my precious cat. Sadly, my baby had to be put to sleep, but they were so wonderful and empathetic, and made me a mold of my babys paw print. They handled my Sabastian with such care and grace, I will never forget it, as I will never forget him. They gave me comfort during 1 of the most difficult times in my life, as I had him for almost 1/2 of my life. I was blessed in a way, to have been somewhat forced to go there due to hours, and am thankful I did. Their generosity will never be forgotten. From the girls at the desk to the techs, to the Vet who helped my baby pass over the Rainbow Bridge, I will forever remember ur kindness 🐾🐾🐱🐱💕💕😿😿💔💔 Tobie Nd Sabastian 🐾🐱🐾🐱💕
I have the distinction of being one of the longest clients of FAH. I think one person has me beat. I am talking 40 years. To keep it short, the care has always been outstanding. Plain and simple. My Maine Coon, Autumn, lived to be 20. Another to 17. That doesnt happen without great vet care. And it just doesnt get any better than FAH! I just cannot say how much I love them.

2021-12-08I always have a great experience with the staff and vets here. Never do they ever put the thought of price before procedure. They make sure all your options are laid out and explained very well before making decisions that impact your fur babies. I love this place. Theyve not only helped me let go of a loved one humanly but theyve also helped me bring new puppy life into the world as well. I couldnt ask for a better veterinary hospital 🏥 ❤️ 🐕 🐈 💕

2021-07-19We have been coming here since we moved to Syracuse 10 years ago. Our cat, Parker, has gone through multiple surgeries with their guidance (hip and eye), and has had excellent care. We have also been bringing our dog, Hank, here since we got him. Dr. Guest has been an amazing resource when figuring out some tricky digestive issues with him. Each time we bring our pets in they feel like rockstars, especially Hank who loves the attention from the staff! They make going to the vet a pleasant, positive experience for our pets and we appreciate the time and care we have received.

2022-03-17I have been calling daily for two weeks to simply make an appointment for our cats for their exams and yearly shots. The phone rings and the message continues to be repeated with no human ever answering. This has been a consistent issue even with prior appointments for our past pets. It is very frustrating. I have always been happy with the level of care, but extremely displeased with the customer service. I am now looking for a new vet for my pets.

2022-07-08Let me start by saying I’m a relatively new client. Initially I was very impressed by the doctors and staff. Everyone seems knowledgeable, caring and professional. The recent concern I had was the fact that they won’t deal with outside pharmacies directly. Apparently they won’t deal with Chewy because they don’t know where they get their meds. Seriously, how does anyone know where your office gets their meds. It’s not like we asked them to send a script to eBay or something. Chewy is a large national company with amazing reviews. There is no reason to doubt they are reputable. It is my feeling that by making it difficult for the patients to get prescriptions elsewhere they are pressuring their clients to buy directly from them so that they can profit. To be honest with you I have been out of work eight months because I have cancer and I can’t afford to throw money around. Since they refused to deal with chewy my dogs are now going to be behind on their prescription. I requested a sample which they gave us initially, and they stated they only give one sample. A one month pill for each of my two dogs would’ve cost $70. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Sorry VCA I hate your policy.

2021-08-03We love bringing our fur baby here. Everyone is so nice. They always come out in the waiting room to give her lots of pets, and Kai returns the love with lots of kisses. We wouldnt trust or baby anywhere else

2021-12-18This is my first negative review and I almost didnt write it, but I dont want other people to have the poor experience that I did here. Look elsewhere, if you want a locally owned caring vet. They have been bought out by Mars Inc., yes, the candy company, you cant make this stuff up. Operating under VCA Animal Hospitals which owns over 1000 veterinary offices. Im sure there are still some great staff, but they now seem more focused on money than the animals or their owners. My experiences here were more bad than good.An inbox full of VCA spam marketing emails, has replaced someone checking on your pet, and my interactions felt like we were a number not a person. They always seemed too busy. It took several days to get a call back on very important test results despite the front desk staff confirming that the results were in fact in . I drive much farther to my new vet in Jamesville, but they are night and day a better place for my pup.

2022-07-04Very disappointed in this place the last couple years. The technicians are the worst. They are not trained properly or pet friendly. There is also a high turnover of employees which doesnt help matters. It seems the good technicians dont stay very long. Weather its a pay issue or a bad work environment Im not sure. Convenient location is not the way to select a vet.

2022-05-11Sad to say that I walked through the doors of VCA Fairmount Animal Hospital for the last time today. I stopped to drop off a sample for fecal analysis as it is required by the dog daycare we use. Just 6 months ago, the fee was $45, which was a big jump from what it had been previously, but today, as I handed my credit card across the counter, I was informed that the fee was now $72.95, an increase of $27.95. I was shocked to the point of being almost speechless and when I regained my senses enough to ask why the huge increase, was informed that “lab fees had gone up”. If I wasn’t at the deadline of 6 months, I would have walked out. I came home and made calls to 6 veterinary hospitals in Onondaga County and found out that none of them charged more than $20. for this service. Since VCA took over FAH, fees for everything have risen but this was the final straw! I have absolutely loved having Dr. Andrea Lee as our vet for the last 15 years, she stood by my side in good times and bad with my two shelties, but I can no longer allow myself to be a victim of the ever escalating fees that VCA charges. They are not only exorbitant but not reasonable and customary in this community.
