I honestly cant rave enough about this company. We had an unfortunate experience with a different moving company that put us in quite a spot, but once Velocity was on the job, I could not have been more pleased! They were very communicative before arriving, while doing the work, and as they were finishing up. Every member of their five man team was kind, professional, and considerate. They were clear about exactly how they handle everything, asked good questions to make sure everything was handled as we needed, and did an amazing job of carefully packing everything up and efficiently unloading. All told, a job that was originally quoted to us as taking two full days took six hours from start to finish! They packed the whole apartment carefully, loaded the truck, drive to the storage unit (over an hour away) and were unloaded before dinner time! I was extremely impressed and very grateful. Thank you, Velocity team, for taking care of all my moms things and doing such an amazing job. You turned around my previous experience and made it completely stress-free!
Would never work with them again. Horrible communication every time I spoke to them. They couldnt give me accurate updates to my shipment. It took my stuff 23 days to arrive from NYC to Houston. They disassembled most of my furniture and did not reassemble some stuff on arrival (the crib, the kids table and chairs. 2 coffee tables...) They also provided boxes during pickup and refused to take them with them to throw out so I was stuck with a lot of their own boxes and tape.
Great experience with Velocity Moving! Alicia was my Relocation Expert and an expert she is! She was professional, kind, positive and replied quickly as well as share a great follow up throughout the entire process! I have a background in customer service and luxury retail and dining so my standards are high but these days, you don’t always get the type of service that you used to get. Some people do their job and some people actually care and do a fantastic job. Alicia cares and did an excellent job and I would highly recommend Velocity or work with them again.Derek was the team leader for my move. He was calm, cool and collected. He and his team worked hard, fast and were on point at every moment. There was a lot to do and these men Got.the.job.done!!! They were professional and nice every step of the way. Not a moment was wasted as everyone worked individually and as a team to make it happen efficiently every step of the way! I love to work individually and on a team, so I relate to what it takes. I’ve also moved MANY times and these men know how it get it all done. They rocked and are total experts at their job.
Jarrett and his crew were the best of the best! They were super efficient and quick! The move was super easy and simple. They really worked with my building regulations! Velocity literally saved the day for us. We had to move from NY to VA. Great communication from the very start. They followed through on all agreed delivery and pick up times.Jhavon and his crew were professional, fast, efficient and understanding. I would highly recommend using them.
Pickup went fine but said they would deliver in 1-2 days and it actually took 14. lost a few boxes/items. dispatch never gives you a straight answer on the timing of your delivery or worse doesnt answer the phone. the movers still had the audacity to ask me for a tip 3 separate times.
I have used Velocity Moving to move my house last month and I was very impressed with their level of professionalism and customer service.The moving team was very professional and easy to work with. They showed up on time and worked very hard. Although it was a very cold and snowy day, they did not stop until the move was completed. They protected all of my furniture and handled them very carefully.They also did assembled and reassembled all the furniture without a problem.Their price was very competitive and transparent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a trustworthy moving company.
The service was a huge surprise from the get-go with the prompt responses and the quick turnaround of a quote for the job. Go Leni!Eli and the moving team were super professional. Arrived on time, packed the whole house with lots of attention and really did it like they care! A very refreshing site in the moving arena...The long day ended on a great note where the same team reassembled all of our furniture and placed all the boxes in the right places, carefully following the labeling.Eli the frontman is a rock star!Ofer, the owner, even went the extra mile and stopped by to make sure unloading is going well which wasnt taken for granted.Would HIGHLY recommend Velocity any day! Booked a NYC to Seattle move with international van lines that was subcontracted to Velocity. On moving day we were up charged $3000 despite having a thorough estimate from international van lines. Initially our moving consultant told us our belongings should arrive close to our first available date given that we were giving them over a month for transit. When our first available delivery date came we called and were told they had no timeframe for delivery. Ultimately our stuff arrived close to the end of our 21 day window. In fact we found out it hadn’t left New York until well over a month after it was packed. Where was it all this time? We were told storage was not required for our move. The delivery company insisted on coming on a Saturday despite the fact that we informed them many times we had a wedding to attend (our only out of town obligation this month). My wife was forced to miss the wedding to accept delivery. They were unable to work with us on this and then charged us another $850 for a shuttle. Ultimately when our stuff arrived over 20 boxes were missing as was a mattress, portions of our bed frame, and our peloton bike. This is a huge fraction of our items! How do these go missing? We still have nothing to sit on and no bed to sleep on. Because things were delivered on a Saturday they told us there was nothing we can do but wait till Monday to call. They also insisted on full payment in all cash. So now we’ve payed almost double our initial estimate for delivery of roughly half our belongings close to 3 weeks after we expected. My only hope is that we can recoup the cost of these items plus damages. I will be contacting a lawyer. Do not use this company.Update: Our stuff was located in a NYC warehouse. It has now been 2 weeks since it was found. It has not left NYC. Every time we call we are told two more weeks. This process is a nightmare and velocity could care less.
This is the second time I used Velocity moving company and they exceeded our expectations again! They helped pack up all fragile items and moved everything with zero issues. Jarrett the foreman is wonderful. I would use them again - highly recommend!!
I recently completed a move out of my midtown apartment with Velocity. Could not recommend them more. The pre-move process was very well organized and thorough – Devina covered all the bases and put me at ease prior to the big day. The 3-person crew arrived on-time and were super professional, friendly, and efficient (the whole thing took less than two hours!). No drama or last minute surprises. Easily the best moving experience I’ve had thanks to their hard work... wouldn’t hesitate using Velocity again.
Highly recommend Velocity moving! Moving is a drag and so many times movers just become one more thing to manage in the process. This was not the case with Velocity Movers. They called me the day before the move to let me know theyd arrive between 9am-12pm. On the day of the move, they called again at 9:30am to say theyd arrive between 11am-12pm, and sure enough, they showed up at 11:30am. They packed up our apartment meticulously and moved everything to a storage unit in a different state. On the other side, they unpacked the truck quickly and organized everything in the unit in an orderly fashion. They were professional, accommodating, and responsive throughout the entire process. I dont typically rave about moving companies, but Andre and his crew were fantastic!
Velocity is a top notch moving company. They were courteous, professional, extremely transparent, and their pricing can not be beat. They moved me and my family out of state during the quarantine, and also coordinated an entire moving truck of my belongings from a home on Long Island. I hired Velocity and it turned out to be the best move I EVER had. Crew was on time, groomed and uniformed. The foreman (Mr. Glendon Hope) was great!!!! He called me in the morning to let me know they were on the way. When foreman got here, he conducted the move smoothly, fast & professionally. They handled my items with care. The driver did an excellent job packing the truck (making sure everything fit). The movers were also nice, kind & helpful.The estimator ( Mr. Santos) was informative, very patient with me and the price was reasonable as well as affordable.The dispatcher was also, professional. He left a message and sent an email a day prior to confirm my move for the next day. He was very detailed & thorough when he confirmed my move.I had an AWESOME experience with Velocity Moving Company and will definitely recommend to my family and friends.OVERALL, VELOCITY ROCKS!!!!!
The minimum fee for the company is 600 dollars which is okay. Note, I only have 12 medium sized boxes and three nightstand tables. After the movers put everything into my new home, they demanded a 20 percent tip? I didn’t have that many heavy boxes to begin with nor did I have furniture? Literally three tables?? It was a total rip off. The employees began to guilt trip me for a terrible job? They didn’t have much work to do, and I was already getting ripped off. They employees harassed me and my family until we tipped 80 dollars. This company is a total rip off. Do not hire this place.
Over all very happy with Velocity Moving. Their price, workers, communication and services are all great.My Move was like a sour patch kid candy ( sour then sweet). Moving from a NYC 5 story walk up to a street level drive way garage storage. It was very hard to move out but very easy to unload to my garage.The only detail was they were a little late to show up. they originally said around 9:30 am but showed up 11:30am. They did call at 9 to say they would be late.
Excellent service! The movers packed and unpacked our belongings efficiently and safely. They were friendly and communicative throughout, as well as organized. This is my second time using Velocity (once for a Boston to NYC move, most recently for a local NYC move), and I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. Highly recommend!

The estimate was very competitive and was also very accurate. Many moving companies will low-ball you to get the job, and then try to charge you extra on move day.It seems to me that Velocity is using a different practice. Straightforward and honest. I was communicating with Noel, my estimator that was super friendly and knowledgeable. She was very responsive by email and phone, and I felt we were off to a great start.On the move day, the team leader called to inform me they are in route to me and will arrive within 30 minutes. The movers arrived on time and with a new and beautiful large truck and began to work immediately.No time was wasted from the moment they walked in, and I was surprised to see how quick and efficient they can be. Some of my boxes were not taped in time, and the team took care of that and put me a ease.They even gave me 4 free large wardrobe boxes for my hanging clothes. My furniture was taken apart and covered with moving pads professionally. Nothing was scratched and my entire delicate and fragile items arrived intact to my new home.The moving team went above and beyond for me, and I tipped them very well for their hard work and because they are worth it.I am very happy I have hired Velocity Moving. I just did a local pick-up by Velocity Moving and Storage Company. They spent almost three hours to pack my furniture and belongs. Movers are very nice and polite. Packing is very professional and careful.Price for a long distance moving from NYC to Seattle is reasonable. It is very satisfied for me to hire the company for my moving. I greatly appreciate it for the moving team to help us. I like to recommend the moving company to my friends.Five star moving company!
Before I decided to work with Velocity I talked to several other movers and asked friends for recommendation. Velocity was not the cheapest one, but I followed the recommendations, and I must say that I was very pleased with the move. I moved too many times in the past, and I know that each time something happens and it is part of the process. This time, other than a 2 dollar glass and an old painting, nothing got damaged, which is a record!I highly recommend Velocity and the team worked with me. I had to move last minute out my apartment . I called Velocity on a Wednesday and was moved out by Saturday. Jared and his team was on time, courteous and professional. They were extremely efficient and did ALL THE WORK. I didnt have to life a finger. They alleviated the stress from moving from me.
Velocity Moving and Storage is awesome!!!! They have been very communicative and flexible from since we booked. We did not have everything packed until the night before and when they arrived they were able to accommodate us with all the extra stuff that we had. The crew - which included Eli, Wen, and Javier - was very pleasant and respectful. They were very conscious about making sure everything valuable was wrapped up to protect it. They put together a bunch of boxes to put extra stuff in it to ensure everything was protected. Anything they thought would be too fragile they let me know so we could put into our cars. They took the time to deconstruct and reconstruct our furniture. They moved us all the way from CT to NY and it was not an easy move! We were very satisfied with their services and would recommend them!
I highly recommend Velocity. I had movers cancel on me the day of my scheduled move. I called Velocity after seeing them on Google. I was actually surprised that they could accommodate me with same day moving service. They came and knocked the job out. 3 men that I had were excellent. Fast, efficient, friendly. I cant say enough about them. Moving is a very stressful thing, coupled with my situation .Velocity saved me yesterday, and for that I am very thankful. Great job guys. This company was amazing from the first call with the representative to set up my moving date and all of my inventory, to the day of arrival when they called me and I wasnt completely ready they extended theirselves to me and gave me additional 30 minutes. Upon arrival immediately they was very respectful ready to work full of energy Pleasant through the whole process. We had brief conversations along with a few laughs they congratulate me on my move and wished me all the best. I would definitely recommend this company to my loved ones and even strangers that I made meet on the street. If I decide to move in the near future and if its still in New York City. The three men that helped me move were efficient, professional, and friendly. They moved quickly, but took care when moving and unloading more delicate items. They helped us place everything were it needed to be in the new space and were aware of their time. They helped make the move run smoothly and I would absolutely use Velocity Moving in the future and recommend them to friends!

I’ve now used Velocity twice. They are punctual, professional, friendly, and fast. Our move went exactly as planned without a single thing damaged. Our move happened during C19 so the team arrived in protective gear. From setting up the reservation to the final box being brought in to our new place, the Velocity team was fantastic to work with.
A great moving and storage company!I used them a little while ago moving to a new apartment. That was a 3 bedroom apartment move. I had a lot of boxes and furniture and I had some bitter surprises for the movers. My old furniture was super heavy and sensitive and the movers had to move those using the very narrow stairways from the 4th floor to the ground floor and again from the ground floor to 3rd floor. But they were better than the challenge. The way they moved everything was just awesome. I would say that they were doing it effortlessly and amazingly fast. That was the true quality of the professional movers of Velocity. They completed the move within the quoted time and they also did not charge me more than the initial quote.I was very thankful for their professionalism and integrity.
It was not easy finding a reputable mover who was willing to go from NYC to Seattle. Velocity Moving and Storage was a wonderful find. They did everything they said they would, at reasonable rates, with a very professional staff and on a timely basis. We needed to store the items for more than a month before delivery and they also handled this need. I highly recommend Velocity!!!!!!
On April 27, 2018, Velocity Moving moved my mother into her new senior housing; it was a local move, just under 4 miles. As I am sure everyone who has moved can understand, moving is a very stressful experience and my mother was so worried that something would happen to her belongings - she was a nervous wreck. I just want to say that Velocity Moving did an amazing job! From my first contact with them on the phone when I spoke with Noelle to when the movers finished unpacking at the new residence. The movers were very professional, they were quick and they were super nice. We even had some neighbors from the old apartment building ask for their number because they were so impressed by the work being done. Thank you to Noelle, A.J. and his team for all your hard work! I will be recommending you to anyone who asks for movers.
I was quoted for 3 hours but the men took actually 8 hours to get everything done. I just paid the difference. My furniture is very heavy and big so I can’t blame them at all for that. Let me say this those men worked excellent!! As soon as they arrived they got right to work. They worked as fast as they can without breaking anything. They wrapped everything up. They went there and got the job done. These men sweated and did what they have to do to get it done. I am extremely satisfied with this company. Thank you so much for all you have done!! Velocity was a good moving company. I have used them before while moving from building to another. This time I used them for my family and I where moving out of state. I was sure nothing could go wrong as we actually did not have much to move. It was a short notice kinda move. Anyway my husband had a glass chess set. Very nice and kind of expensive. The three men who came and moved us the main one talking about how he would love a set like that and thought it was nice. They all smoked cigarettes could smell it on them and then after packing us up they went for a smoke break, as had alcohol breath(the main guy). Anyway long story short when out things arrived guess what was missing of course my husband glass chess set. Now if we had known it was gonna be stolen would have never left it. It was wrapped and packaged like everything else. The company does not seem to care and that is so wrong. They will not be getting my business every again, Im also warning fellow people to stay away!
I had a great experience with Velocity! The price was great, the movers showed up on time and ready to work. They were very friendly and extremely fast, yet careful with everything. When I offered to help they told me there was no need for me to lift anything and they would take care of everything. I expected the move to take about 3-4 hours, they were done in 1.5. I would definately use them again and refer the company to a friend.

Outstanding service from the best professionals you can get.I used velocity moving to move from NYC to San Francisco CA.After doing an extensive research we concluded using Velocity and got in home consultation.They provided a binding price for the MO e including a month of storage.I must say they were very affordable and accurate.The movers are so careful and strong working hard and without taking a break.The delivery in SF was so smooth and arrived on time and in a perfect condition.Thank you velocity for owsome moving experience
This is the second time I use Velocity as a moving company. The company gives you enough men to do the job efficiently and within finishing time. They bring the right equipment to make sure your furniture is secure. But most of all they are trustworthy and that to me means a lot, And yes, I do recommend them 99.9%.
The movers showed up on time and handled every item with care. We had a 5 floor walk, but it didnt phase the team. The customer support was Great with calling to confirm the day prior and the foreman, Eli, on the day was highly knowledgeable about the contract and how to safe guard the important items in the move (armoire and headboards)They did start out a little sluggish, (it was 8am) but as they saw me hustle to carry my own boxes down and with a little verbal encouragement, they started to pick up the pace.The team was VERY GOOD unloading everything at the new place, very respectful of the new building, and every item was delivered without a hitch.Hey, I didnt have to move it all myself, they were nice and respectful men with good appearance, nothing was stolen or damaged, and it cost me a bit under one thousand dollars including the tips. Im very happy!!I would highly recommend Eli, Wayne, and Javier from Velocity!!!
Scott and his team were very professional and flexible to the many last minute changes which I was requesting for our office move. They literally were working from the time they arrived until they were finished, I had to make them take a 15 min break to grab a slice of pizza which I had ordered. They were focused and dedicated to getting the job done. I would definitely use them again for any future moves.
Great work! Showed up on time, spent a good job wrapping and protecting all of the furniture. Company was very careful to load belongings in the truck and handled all of my things with care. Went over the quoted time by 3 hours but still ended up being reasonably priced! They definitely know what they are doing. Would highly recommend!!
I had a great experience moving cross country from NYC to Sacramento with Velocity. Oliver, the Customer Service Representative, was helpful. I had to change my address while the truck was on its way, and Oliver responded quickly to make sure my delivery was seamless. My stuff even arrived earlier than expected. The deliverymen - Rayon and Conrad - were polite and professional. They were also fast. I recommend Velocity.

The moving crew was great. They made sure everything was wrapped good. They were very helpful and made sure I was happy.The person who I spoke to on the phone for the price didn’t bother to tell me of the extra charges for wrapping my items such as the glass on my china cabinet. This was after the fact that he knew I had it since he wanted a list of items. That costed me couple extra hundred.I would not recommend this company. If you use make sure you have extra money on hand
We moved our medical office in NJ a few months ago. This company was very professional and honest from day 1. They gave us an estimate and stuck to it. No hidden fees, and no surprise costs at the end of the job. The movers were courteous, efficient, and organized. i highly recommend them

My mother was moving and the movers we scheduled bailed out on the morning of the move. We were furious, my sister in law searched and found Velocity movers. I definitely wanted to leave a review after my experience with Velocity. Ive moved many times, and this company was spot on from start to finish. My rep Maria answered every question I asked, and I was never priced over my initial estimate. Now, for my move I was given a crew of 3 really great men. Clearly , there are very experienced with what they do and I couldnt have asked for better. This company has given me nothing but great customer service and I recommend to all.
Where can I begin. Velocity Moving & Storage saved the day!! I was stranded by my Movers on the day of move because they were not prepared to provide the services in the mandatory timeframe for which I contracted. They were sending one truck and 2 guys. At 1pm on move day driver was waiting for the 2nd guy!!! Yes, 1pm to move out of state!!I freaked. They actually without conscience, used COVID-19 as an excuse for their inability to be prepared to do their job and not notifying me at least day prior if that were truly the case. DISASTER day of move!! Was a NIGHTMARE!! Velocity Moving & Storage; Sales Representative Lenny, came within 5mins late afternoon on day of the other Movers fiasco. Promised all will be well. Calmed me down. Told me too late in the day now, but 8a tomorrow well get you out. Basically told me, say my prayers and calm down. He sent 2 trucks/6men as contracted last minute! The Foreman Glendon is incredible, no nonsense, organized, great work ethic, energy, photographic memory (I kid you not), organized the team (s) well. Took great care with my things as though they were moving their Mother. Remembered where everything was to be placed and which room it came from!! Two great representatives of Movit the management person I first spoke to. They got me completely out by 3p next day. Remainder of carefully wrapped and boxed items sat outside at back so new owner who was waiting with her truck could move in!!! I left as I had a long drive. They took care of everything. Second truck picked up the remaining stuff on schedule, as promised. Stored overnight, called early morning next day when crew were on the way to put my mind at ease and got ALL my things home to my blessed new life. I cannot begin to express the gratitude owed this fine company for turning a HORRIFYING experience into a life saving event. I cannot thank them enough. I recommend them HIGHLY to everyone I know, especially Real Estate Agents who have clients that may desperately need a mover, as I did. These people are awesome.Theyve done a few jobs for me.The nicest movers.The last job last week.I needed to move some furniture from Brooklyn to Manhattan. They were on time. They figured out how to get the furniture out of the house, and they even helped me move my old table to the neighbors apartment.Their customer service is second to none.
Velocity movers were very professional and efficient. The movers arrived on time and wrapped and packed my stuff before putting them on truck. Used Velocity to move to another state. I would give them 0 stars if I could. HORRIBLE service. Broke a lot of things. Scratched up my walls & broke a window. Then to top it off the guy who delivered to my new apartment STOLE my Nintendo Switch!! Overcharged me for the move. Cash only for some reason. THEIFS! Do not use these guys!!
Super efficient long-distance move from two friendly and personable guys from Velocity. The company totally earns its name as they were at our apartment in NY right on time at 8am (the window for their arrival was 8am-10am), and they had everything ready to go in the truck an hour and a half later. They actually beat us to our new apartment in Boston by about half an hour without any complaints. Everything was unpacked quickly and arrived to our new apartment without any damage whatsoever. Would totally recommend for others moves, and would book Velocity again for my next move. Totally stress-free anf without hiccups or surprises.
I couldnt have been happier with using Velocity for my move. One of my friends used them to move, and said it was crazy how fast they got everything done. Well, that was good enough for me to give them a try, and I am so glad I did! They communicated with me every step of the way, went out of their way to help make sure everything was packed safely (even improving on the packing I had done and pointing out things that we needed to secure in order to prevent damage), all while somehow getting everything done in record time! Very happy, would highly recommend.
This is my 2nd time using Velocity Moving within less than 3 years, and I strongly and warmly recommend them.On my first move I relocated from New York to North Carolina.They sent an estimator over to survey the apartment, and made a move plan to accommodate needs, that included a full packing service and a specific pick up and delivery schedule.The service was extremely professional and punctual, the team which was lead by Eli was very customer oriented, polite and efficient, like I have never experienced with movers before.When it was time to move again, I knew im definitely going to use them again without hesitations.On both both moves I received a Binding price from Oliver.The price covered the entire cost of the move including packing, loading, unloading, assembly of furniture etc.The price I was given was honored to the cent.The movers Eli, Derek and Lawal, were very professional.They packed up my entire house in one day, and came back on the 2nd day to load it onto the truck.They worked very hard, yet were very careful handling the furniture that required dis- assembling.I scheduled the delivery for 3 days later, and the trucks were right on time.Everything was unloaded into the new house very quickly and all the furniture were re-assembled back again.I will absolutely continue to use them if I ever need to move again and of course recommended them to my friends and to anyone who needs a moving company which can be trusted with your property!
I moved 8 times in my life. I never experienced such a profesional, careful, cordial and timely company.Their team took care of everything in my house making sure everything is packed carefully on each box. My family and I moved this Monday from Jersey to Manhattan and I hired Velocity moving. Ofer came on a Sunday the week prior to give me an estimate. He was very professional and courteous. The price was actually cheaper than 3 other movers and tolls were included. They also dropped off a little under 50 boxes and paper to wrap and pack my stuff which were included in the price. The day of the move 3 guys showed up in a huge truck and were actually 20 mins earlier than expected. They were very professional and careful with my belongings and they wrapped EVERY piece of furniture - not one piece left the house without being wrapped. They even brought their own plastic mattress protectors. The price paid was exactly what I was quoted and not a penny more. I would definitely recommend them for anyone moving.
Moving is probably one of the most stressful times, at least it was for me. I called Velocity Moving And Storage Company on June 9th(a Saturday) and explained my situation. The man who answered was so professional and reassured me everything with my move will be ok. I scheduled movers to come the next day, THE NEXT DAY, and sure enough I received a phone call letting me know when they would arrive. Moving truck pulled up and 3 gentleman came out. All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE. Such nice guys very respectful..and very careful with every piece of furniture, mirror, patio furniture etc that I own. I can not thank Velocity enough. All my stress with my move went out the window as soon as I made one phone call. Thank you all so much.
The move itself was executed really well - my belongings were wrapped, loaded and unloaded quickly but securely. The only thing that bugged me from the outset was being asked for a (steep, but optional) tip right from the start. I normally tip my movers (since my brother was a mover and know it can be a hard job), but being asked for 15-20% was a lot for a pretty easy and small move.
Friendly, professional people. Great service. They took good care of my belongings and were very efficient in packing, loading and unloading them. The only slightly negative thing I could say is that it took a long time for my things to get to Florida from New York, but since they were within their contract period, I really cant complain. I highly recommend them.
I never write reviews, but I had such an awesome experience that I just felt it was only fair that I give them the 10 star rating, the highest of fives, & the thumbs way, way up. They did a fantastic job, the workers were so nice and even though I went way over the amount of stuff I was supposed to have they cut me such a break that I shutter when I think of what a different company would have screwed me with in the price. I am just so happy that after everyone I spoke to and got quotes from, that I chose the velocity team at the end of the day.
I would not recommend this moving company. They are disorganized and extremely unprofessional, in my experience. I was given a 5 pm - 8 pm moving window. The day of the move, I was called on or around 3 pm and asked to reschedule the move for a 6 pm - 9 pm window, I agreed. I got a call at 4:50 from the actual movers that they were at the storage venue where all of my things were located and they were ready to move me - they asked me to reschedule when I told them that I was forty-five minutes away. I called the office and had to request that they wait for me, because it was definitely their mistake. When I got to the venue, the movers were not there. I walked around searching for them and calling the office for twenty minutes before they finally pulled up. The office kept telling me they were there - they were not, obviously the moving men were liars. One of the movers had a genuine bad attitude and cursed out this young woman who did not reciprocate his sexual advances, she stood in her car frightened for at least ten minutes waiting for someone to pick her up. Since I did not have time to get a bank check, as planned, because of the constant rescheduling, I had to get cash at an ATM during the move. I left for twenty minutes to go to the ATM; the movers had a mattress, box spring and sofa left to move from the foyer to my apartment, when I came back they still had a mattress, box spring and sofa left. Obviously the movers require intent supervision. Moreover, the movers did not get my couch into my apartment. I told them they probably need to take the furniture pads off to get it into the door - they denied. They recommended Dr. Sofa, because they said my couch would need to be taken apart. Dr. Sofa came the next day and got my sofa into my apartment within ten minutes, without removing anything but the furniture pads. I paid Dr. Sofa $400.00 - Dr. Sofa and Velocity have the same address? Either Velocity is in collusion or just plainly unqualified. Despite tipping the movers over 15% of my bill - I was advised that I shouldnt hire movers if I was not able to tip them properly. The obnoxious mover who harassed the woman in the car, had such a threatening attitude, and cussed me out because he was so offended with my tip. I offered to write him a check, but I was cussed out for that as well. In summation, the office is disorganized and the movers are unprofessional.
I did a long-distance move from New York to Miami. This experience turned into a money pit. They charge you for absolutely everything. How can you charge the same price for a plastic toy basketball hoop as a queen size bed? This doesn’t make sense. I spoke to Maria about picking up a toddler bed, if Velocity had good customer service – the representative should have asked “Do you also have other toys to accompany that?” Instead, she took the order and the day of the move in they charged us an absurd amount of money for extra items. Not all moving companies charge per item, rather they charge per room because it can become pretty pricey charging per item. The day of shipment, Velocity brought a tractor size moving van to my residence which was too large for the residential streets. We then had to pay an additional $250 to have a UHUAL shuttle van deliver the items. Why not do research or verify with us before choosing such a large truck to make deliveries? Velocity needs to communicate better about how they charge and explain clearly to customers what needs to be included in an inventory, because when you’re moving the last thing you want is to dish out so much money!
I would definitely recommend Velocity Moving. We had a great experience moving our one bedroom apartment. The guys were quick and friendly and took a lot of care with our belongings. I will use them again for future moves in the area!
We just moved 2 days ago. Velocity is both reasonable and efficient. The relatively arduous process of moving was made much easier by the team headed by Mr. Simms. They were courteous, fast, orderly and skilled . This is the 2nd time Ive used Velocity and weve been more than satisfied each time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends or family.

At first I was a little iffy of using Velocitys service because when I talked to one of the representatives and asked many questions, his answers were always so simple. He did not sound convincing. However, I went with it anyway and gave it a try. Not only their price is much cheaper than many other moving companies, their service was also great. The movers did exactly what they needed to do and the customer representative was very helpful in every way. I am glad that they were not very pushy in trying to convince me to use their service. Other moving companies kept on calling me back to use their service even after I said I do not want to use their service. Which was kinda annoying.
I normally dont write reviews but I needed to share my story. My experience with velocity was incredible, Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful. The staff made moving stress less. The guys were willing to move me and my family without any fuss. The customer service received was great. I was not asked to write this review , this is my own personal opinion. Avoid this company at any cost! These guys were so bad, I would give them a negative star rating if I could. I made a move from CT to FL. The CT side of things was okay, but the less said about FL, the better. I would never use this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Velocity moved us from DC to Rochester NY. They were on time, worked efficiently to get the truck loaded and were super professional. All of our stuff arrived in good shape. They were easy to work with through the whole process.
They were nice and friendly of course in the beggining but the guy kept pushing for tips and said they can get me a discount depending on whether or not I tip 15% or 20%. Also they really tried threatening me to tip or else they wouldnt do a good/fast job thus having to raise the hours needed. In the end they didnt really give me a discount more like they gave themselves a higher percent of the cut. Complete swindlers. I unfortunately signed the paper before I got a chance to look at the furnitures and items. My shelf was scratched on the bottom and the tip broke off from the top, my two dressers and bed were clearly chipped off and they broke some glass items by dropping them themselves they passed off as being my fault for packing incorrectly even though everything else was fine. I was trying to be as nice as possible about everything thats why I tipped them generously still and signed the papers right away but they definitely were taking advantage of me. Definitely not good people and not to be trusted with your belongings!
Moving day went beautifully thanks to Velocity. The crew worked hard and with a great attitude. They were conscientious - everything arrived safely, and they were polite, careful, and communicative through the whole process. They even came in under the estimate (!!), and didnt nickel and dime me on supplies. Pre-move, Noel who gave me the quote was professional and on the ball too. My 4th time hiring movers, and by far the best.
I moved in 2.5 hours from 1 NY studio to another. Sims and his team were brilliant. They told me not to worry and got to work efficiently. I just had to watch. Just finished unpacking, nothing broken, damaged or scratched, even my new hardwood floors were left spotless. Ill be a lifelong customer.

I moved to Florida in November and everything went ok up to the point when I noticed the movers had left holes in my brand new garage floor. The holes are quite noticeable as the left a set every time they dropped a box. For the last couple months I have been emailing them and it took numerous calls to get to speak to somebody who could at least give me some answers. They claimed that it was the builders fault not theirs which is ridiculous. Just know if you use these guys they willl not cover damages they created because its someone elses fault.

The moving team got hassled by my buildings Super when they arrived so they were a few minutes late to my apartment but called as it happenef to let me know so it was no big deal. (Our Super is famous for that.). The team lead apologised to me several times (each time I said not to worry about it) and gave me some unexpected extra help with packing to say thanks. Everything was wrapped carefully and nothing got so much as a new scratch in the process. In fact while I was moving my couch at the new place I scratched the floor and he used his touch-up pen to fix it, while showing me how so I can do it next time.The crew was friendly, polite, professional and efficient, even on a muggy 95 degree day. I highly recommend them.

Very professional and completted the project in a timely manner. Pierre and David were efficient, flexible and helpfull. This was a complicated move in that the destination location is stlll under construction. Nevertheless, Pierre and David moved all of my items safely and quickly. I strongly recommend Velocity. They made the stressful experience of moving, as pleasant as possible.

I am moving from Long Island City to Seattle, cross-country long distance move. Velocity offered me a quite competitive price (I am paying cash), not the cheapest price but they have storage option which really attracted me.My move was scheduled at 9:00AM today and they arrived right on time. They called me about half an hour ago to let me know that they are arriving in 30 mins and they arrived on time. And the guys were good at packing and handling my belongings. They were careful and seemed like they know how to pack furnitures. I have a $7000 standing desk and bought an moving insurance just to be safe. I let them know that the desk is expensive and I need it to be packed up really well and they respected my concern.The bad things started happening as they were finishing up. The guy who seemed like a lead came over to me and said, packaging materials are separate from the price estimate that I originally received and I need to pay for them. Packaging materials includes duck tapes, a couple boxes and a large crate. I said I am fine with paying for it if that is how it is done but I called customer service just to double check that he is telling me true. Customer service said tapes are already included in the price and the lead guy took it off the list. So that was fine. Funny thing is that I still dont know what large crate is for. The moving guy never really explained to me although I asked hime twice and he just tried to escape from answering. I remember him saying it is some sort of box. The I dont know why there is a separate charge for boxes and then crates as well. Nothing really made any sense but he didnt even want to talk to me about that anymore so I paid for it because the total packaging material was only about a hundred and I didnt want to make any trouble with guys who handle my valuable belongings.And also the lead guy told me that they need 15-20% tips. I even felt somewhat threatened. And the fact is that for cross country move, the tip is usually 5-10%. 15-20% is for local moves. This is written on the paperwork. But he only tried to show me the part where it says 15-20% and kept asking for tips. He clearly knew that I am moving to Seattle from LIC but he mentioned twice that he wants 15-20% tips because he is doing such a great job based on what he said.After they were all done, a real bad thing happened when the lead guy calculated how much is due on pickup today. So they calculate the price based on cubic feet and he said they now have extra 250 cubic feet because my boxes and desk are so big although the actual packing list is almost exactly same as what I gave them when I was getting price estimate. Anyways, he didnt listen and insisted that 250 extra cubic feet will cost me about $1500 more than what I was given on the estimate. That sounded like a total scam so I asked for exact measurements from the truck and asked hime to go to his truck with me and measure w/h/l. 2 seconds later, he said that since I am such a nice guy and he is so generous he will only count it as 200 extra cubic feet instead of 250 so I only need to pay something like $1100 more. I didnt have any faith in hime anymore so I kept insisting to get the actual measurements together. 5 seconds later, he just started calculating something on his phone and then gave me the original price from the estimate plus packaging material cost. What happened to the extra cubic feet? I dont know at all. So I asked him for his name because I wanted to complain about this issue to the customer service later and he said his name is Eli but I am not sure if he told me the truth because he just got caught lying about the extra moving cost.I was very very suspicious about that guy but gave them 10% tips anyways because other guys did really good job at packing my stuff. But I would never recommend this company to others.I will file a complain to the customer service soon and also my moving is only a half done status. So I will update my review as I get to experience more with these guys.
Jarrett, Jerry and Omar did an awesome job for me this past weekend. They were on time and packed everything securely and moved it all into the storage unit I would definitely recommend them for all of your moving needs.
I want this to go out to all my fellow Veterans who may consider this company for service. They treated me and my family like the enemy to the USA. I will not go in detail, but they do not reduce stress for moving they add to it. No one came out to do an estimate for actual CF so the quote low and then when they subcontract to another company you are now shocked with additional $1300.00 not including 10 to 15 % tip that I paid not knowing it was not requires which I paid $600.00, I will have nightmare that builds life-long memories of why we sacrifice’s for companies that prey on honest war veterans but will make comments that they want to make America Great! Stay away from this moving company and last thing if they just took advantage of me a War Vet what do you think they will do to a regular person, this company has NO Patriotism Honor and support to the men and women who have served our country. This unquestioned loyalty to our Military. I moved my family for a better life and this company made me sick and scared to be around friends and family because I was so angry with my self to trust a company that took advantage of me!

Those people are so unprofessional!They lie, they are dishonest.Damaged majority of our belongings during the move and storage.DO NOT believe what they say, our furniture was damaged due to moisture and rodents!!!! They promised clean and A/C rooms.Unbelievably difficult to deal with if you pass the signing contract part.Please save yourself your nerves and $ and DO NOT use them!

I was very impressed with Velocity Moving and Storage they were punctual , professional , flexible and accommodating they made my moving experience Smooth and carefree.
Company gave me a three hour estimated time. Half way through they began to delay. On our way to the second stop it took the truck 1hr to drive from 79th and cpw to 68th / York. I called several times during the drive and they kept changing their story on what route they took.Ultimately as you can imagine the 3hr estimate was total b/s and we were charged for overages.I would never use them again. I have moved 6 times in Manhattan and this was by far the worst.
Team of trained professionals, covered by liable insurance and using proper transports and equipment during the move. 1bdr got packed and carried out in the track in under 1 hrs. No mess left behind. Cared for extra wraps and corner protection.No scuffs, no marks left.Polite and easy to communicate to.I would recommend.

Excellent service. Workers were professional courteous and fast. Packed the six room apartment in less than 4 hours. Even bought my wife and I bottles of water.

From the office company to the drivers everything were good, a day prior to my moving they called to verify and update me regarding the time, the drivers made it on time they were helpful and I really appreciate their hard work.

My experience with velocity was excellent the men was very professional especially the team leader the one that takes care of the paperwork and the money exchange he were quick fast and efficiently and the other two workers follow up his pace they gave me a 3 hours.slot but they were finish in lest than 2 hours I would highly recommend and use the service again

2022-03-29Great moving company with an outstanding service and prices.I was using this company to help me move my house and I could have not been more satisfiedThey came on time and uniformed and greeted me.They moved everything in efficiently without complaining for all the heavy stuff that they have.They also packed everything nicely and everything hit arrived intact.The office is professional knowledgeable and very attentive.I needed to reschedule the move couple of times and that happened without any issue at all.I highly recommend velocity moving and storage

2021-09-05DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Please read all the reviews before you even considering this company. I moved long distance New York to Denver. For this move I choose a highly rated company to pack contents and fully unpack and dispose of trash. My job was then passed on to Velocity after I had given a sizable deposit to the other company who passed the job on. Then the nightmare began. The truck arrived late, I was never informed the they would not meet the date. When I called the said, “didn’t you read the fine print we have 21 days.” Well I gusss 21 days would have been better than 29/30 days without furniture and clothes. So get this, they hire people to unpack and unload from CRAIGSLIST!!!!!!! REALLY CRAIGSLIST!!!!!! So promptly on the first day one of the Craigslist workers robs the cab of the truck, steals the drivers wallet and stashes my custom mattress. Naturally the police had to be called in.So, almost everything piece of furniture had scratches or was broken, the Chinese medicine cabinet had its hinges ripped off, antique mint condition singer sewing machine is broken and cracked in multiple locations, expensise glass broken, ceramic art broken and a very large porcelain lamp from grandmother shattered and the list goes on.If you want to hire a top notch cross country moving company don’t even consider this one just look under cross country movers on CRAIGSLIST.

2022-03-26Please do not use this company- I moved from NY to NC and decided based on a recommendation do hire velocity. The actual movers were great, however the staff who answer the phones are extremely unprofessional. We had an issue with when we needed our items delivered. I called the company to let them know we needed storage, we set it up and then we get a call a few days later from a driver saying they were on the way to deliver. There was no communication to let the driver know that we were paying for storage- the driver said he didn’t know what to tell me, when I called in I was greeted with more hostility from someone who was on the phone. This person was yelling at me and my husband and again was very unprofessional. I really don’t recommend anyone use this company because they were rude and unprofessional again initially I had great communication however as soon as we needed an extension for delivering our items they did not know how to manage. Moving is already stressful and they definitely made our move even more stressful.

2019-10-27Velocity Moving and storage moved me at a reasonable cost for the amount of stuff that I had. They were prompt and courteous and mostly efficient. The issue I had with them is some of the heavier furniture was damaged on delivery and of course you could not see all the damage done while they were still unloading. I signed off on the bill of lading and paid them. Well this is the interesting part. Only the damage that I documented in writing at the time I signed the bill of lading is going to be covered by the company. This is absurd, there is noway to examine every item moved before they leave. I had 100+ boxes, there is no way to open and examine each and every item. Furniture there as damage on legs and places that you could not see right away. Now the company is avoiding my phone calls. So my advice is dont sign the bill of lading or pay until ALL items are examined, no matter how long it takes. You are protecting yourself. The company does not care and the contracted arbitration, which is on the bill of lading protects the company and not you. Get moving insurance as a back up. I will probably have to check with the New York State Attorney Generals office to see about changing the bill of lading laws to protect the consumer.

2019-07-02Worst moving experience of my life. Items arrived destroyed, boxes have holes and are completely squashed, damage comes to thousands of dollars: my sofa is wet and has discolored stains, desk has a hole punched in it, mirror is broken, even my bike is messed up with the breaks cut loose and the basket missing a screw. Absolutely appalling.

2021-08-29Velocity did an excellent job of moving my household belongings from PA to CA within the 21 day window. There was a lot of art and expensive pieces and everything arrived in excellent condition. The packers were great and so were the unpackers. My ETA coordinator Ms. Cano was amazing too! Polite and wonderful service. No damage to anything. I was very pleased! Note I started with IVL but they brokered me to Velocity. It all worked out, you just need patience and trust! Also, I am adding another star now. Compared to other stories I’ve heard from friends and their challenging moving experiences, Velocity was the best! So Velocity, you deserve FIVE STARS!!
