There is food that is so sublime it forms new neural pathways when it hits your tastebuds. That is how rich the chocolate and other flavors are in this Shangri-La of sweetness. I defy you to find more scrumptious desserts than are offered here where, fittingly, the walls simulate chocolate being poured down in an endless cascade of bliss and wonder.
Every-time I go to this location I get yelled at. I am a NYC resident and I live a few blocks away so I frequent here often. This past visit made me never want to return. The woman employee (in the picture below) at this location not only yelled at my friend for not knowing the difference between 4 different gelatos and shouted WHATS THE NAME she gave me the worst attitude along with Stracciatella with no chocolate pieces in it (if I wanted vanilla I would have ordered it). Please stop hiring people who hate working in customer service. Trust me I get it - its not easy but as a paying costumer I will not be disrespected by an employee every single time I come in. Can we drop the attitudes and treat us like humans? Looks like there are multiple reviews reporting this. Dont you care about your businesses reputation? Also this is the first time I was given that chocolate piece! This should be included with the order as noted on the sign or its false advertising.
This Venchi location like the others serves a variety of tasty gelatos and sells a ton of different kinds of fine chocolate. the retail space is pretty big. super clean and wellorganized. there is a large gelato bar with flavors on display. there are walls and tables filled neatly with loose chocolates as well as boxed chocolate sets. there are a few seats in the back at one table.if you havent had the gelato, you cant go wrong. however i come here primarily for chocolates. Venchi chocolates are high-quality and made with proficiency. the small chocolates come in sets or you can purchase loose chocolates by weight. all that said, chocolate is pricey. the chocolate costs like $48/lbs ($12ish per 1/4) but it is worth it! but quality over quantity. a small bit of finely-crafted chocolate goes a long way. if you are looking for a bite of sweetness in the Union Square area, then Venchi has you covered.staff is fast n efficient.
Venchi is like Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory come to life. Minus the oompa loompas, corny songs, and rude host. In fact it is the exact opposite. It is a sensory overload, from its chocolaty water wall, to its delicious confectionery, and its yummy ice cream and gelato. If ice cream isnt your thing, you can try the hot chocolate, crepes, and more. Take my word for it, its a sweet treat!
Lets talk about its incredible chocolate selections!Im a super chocolate fan who tries every chocolate store/brand that comes to NYC!And this is the best one, period! Their chocolate bars of world selection: 70% less sugar extra fondente dark chocolate, 80% Sud america, 85% Cuor Di Cacao, Nocciolata Dark Chocolate w Hazelnuts, Cuba Nougatine Cigar kinda Chocolate stick .......too many to name!Heavenly taste! They make the best dark chocolate period! Many of the textures are not descriable and addictive! Ive been hooked !Dont trynna compare this with Ladercach(worst than Lindt and other supermaker brands, dont even mention its.ridoculous price) or Godiva or Marie Belle, theyre not the same level!Id say Venchi, welcome to NYC and dont ever leave.
Stopped here for an afternoon coffee and dessert. One of the best coffee/chocolate spots I’ve been to in the SF bay area or New York.Had the Chocoviar coffee and pistachio gelato. The coffee/espresso itself was not particularly notable but the unique thing is the cup is lined with melted chocolate nibs - Grab a spoon to scoop at them while drinking your coffee, it’s a great combo if you’re a dark chocolate lover. See video. The pistachio gelato was also smooth and flavorful — liked it even though I usually don’t prefer pistachio gelatos.
Gelato was average. Flavor choices were hard to choose from. They’re named very elaborately with little to no description. The staff is fast talking using persuasive tones to rush you along. AFTER you decide on the size (amount of scoops/flavors AND PAY, THEN you can try the flavors. Essentially you’re locked in before you’re sure you like it.The seating area is tiny. We had to ASK for the tiny mirrored tables to be cleaned. They promote a great deal of dark chocolate, which let’s face it, is not what chocolate seekers are searching for. Cocoa nibs are more on the bitter side. The “chocolate” running down the walls fountain style are the grab, but of course isn’t real. The chocolate was not impressive. The gelato barely reached average. it’s a touristy place because of the decor. I have no urge to return. 3 stars because I’m feeling generous.
Venchi has a great selection of Gelato and chocolates. Everything we tried was delicious. I would definitely visit again. For quick bites the Eatly location is great, but the full storefront is quite a nice looking place to visit at least once. Beautiful Store front on Broadway in New York !!!!
The ice cream here is always good. The decor was amazing as well. The brown colored wall behind the wall fountain gives the illusion of a chocolate fountain effect. The only thing I didnt like was that the tables were dirty and not cleaned for the duration I was there. Overall a good spot to stop by and enjoy some dessert.
Venchi’s ice cream was so delicious and creamy! I love its vegan options! Sebastian greeted us and took our order, he was patient and caring to help us choose from the many options offered. He gave us great advice and service! Highly recommend this ice cream and chocolate shop. Pretty unique!
One of the best ice creams I have had.Plenty of vegan options which is nice. I highly recommend the Chocaviar with 75% dark chocolate. You can buy baby, regular or large which translates to 1, 2 or 3 scoops/flavors.Milkshakes, crepes, etc are also offeredPrices are on the higher side but worth it.Will come again.
Excellent ice cream for a hot humid nyc! The chocolate options are plenty. A bit pricey for sure but they sure do taste very good! The service is excellent! This place has options for treats for yourself or gifts for anybody special! It’s around the corner from the northern section of Union Square.I highly recommend this place!
As always, some of the best espresso and cappuccino this side of the Atlantic, complemented by a small 60% dark chocolate. Just like in Europe. The entire selection of chocolate is a well kept secret outside of Italy. It’s well worth the trip for the chocolate. It makes the perfect house gift when you don’t know what to buy.
Not a pleasant experience. They make a simple purchase too complicated. First you have to pay before you look at the varieties. In my case, 9 dollars for one flavor , baby cone. Two third of the store space is empty but they squeeze customers in one third of corner to pay and order. After you pay, still waiting in squeezed line, there does not seem an order how they are serving and if they will remember what you paid for. Servers are impatient at this point. You just want to commit to one flavor and get out of the line as soon as possible. Ice cream is fine but the way they set up business is ridiculous.
They say once you’ve had gelato in Italy every where else doesn’t hold up. I took my Buddy from Italy to this spot to test this theory. His first words captured it perfectly: “Gelato is an experience in Italy, all the way from watching the person scooping it to consuming it with friends over conversations”. Venchi gives you just that in the most luxurious way possible. $25 for 2 regulars but so worth it!The chocolate fountain is mesmerizing to look at while chilling on the couches and chatting with friends. Perfect way to start or end an evening!
A beautiful and delicious dessert spot with even more amazing team members! Huge shoutouts to Daniela and Dev for being super friendly, energetic, and helpful in recommending some absolute tasty flavors! They are definitely an asset to the team, and you guys are doing an amazing job with the flavors! Keep up the good work!
I found this place by accident gooding to Dr. Martins, I never heard of Venchi and wanted to give it a try.Their ice cream Gelato choices are very good and every flavor leaves you wantIng more. The consistancy, the low sugar level, and the thickness of the ice cream is perfect. I always started putting chocolate pieces on top, though I dont remember when they started doing that. The best part is that it isnt expensive, $6 a person on average depending on your size is enough to keep everyone happy. The store itself has a lot of wonderful item and gifts for people! I would recommend it as a presen, the eat in aspect is good on low traffic days. You can sit and enjoy your ice cream, change up your phone iF you need too and enjoy the chocolate waterfall!Definitely a place I always go to when am in the area.
Was delightfully surprised by Venchis chocolates and gelato. They are definitely on the pricier side, charging a dollar to add whipped cream, but youre not going to be getting it from a can, this is some rich, homemade whipped cream. This premium nature is true for everything in this store, whether youre getting vanilla gelato with real vanilla beans or delicious chocolate that was made true without a boatload of sugar. My only complaint is the waffle cones were not very fresh. Would be nice to be making those fresh in the store, and itd smell delicious too!
Love this Italian gelato place! It comes from italy originally. Check out the chocolate waterfall wall in the back seating area. Try your gelato with a chocolate and nuts dipped coating in a cup or a cone. Various nutty and fruity flavors to sample before purchasing ;P also a great selection of chocolate confections
My wife and I first tried Venchi in Italy and loved it. So, when we found Venchi in NY, we immediately went in and it was as good! Staff were also very nice and friendly and well-informed. She even gave us a sample of 1 chocolate we were looking at (and that led to a purchase. haha). After you pay for your ice-cream order, you can sample the flavors before deciding (e.g. If you paid for 3 flavors, you can sample up to 3 flavors 1st before deciding). I highly recommend the Gianduiotto Venezuela (its Venezuela chocolate & Hazelnut) with their Pistachio. Some customers in the queue also recommended their dark chocolate flavors. For chocolates, our favourite is the Cremino Pistacchio! The pistachio taste is even better than the ice cream.
I just don’t like the way they behave in the store totally awful we ordered 4 Icecream and wanted to taste before ordering since this was our 1st time here and I could see that they were totally annoyed and wanted us to pay 1st b4 trying and kept saying move ahead when we dint even pick up our last order like the guy the one guy in the store kept saying this twice if the owners are reading this please let them know we are happy with the ice creams but not with the people working there since they were vert rude and this is unacceptable for the popularity have …. I always want someone with a smile on their face or at least have some nice talks don’t rush people out of your store before you deliver your product you are paid by us don’t act like u did a favour to us or delivered the what you paid for… I wish I could give no stars for this rude behaviour.
The shop is beautiful. Ice creams are delicious. The house made hazelnut chocolate spread is a must! Girls are super friendly. The only thing I did not like, was a price. I bought 3 peaces of chocolate individual wrapped and it was 6$. My tiramisu ice cream was soft, smooth and yummy. Yes, i would go back for Ice cream and hazelnut/chocolate spread
Chocolate waterfalls. That’s all you need to know. Sadly, you can’t luxuriate in it. You could, however, partake of their countless varieties of chocolate and gelato. I had always wanted to visit but pre-COVID the lines to this store were crazy. It is after all, Instagram worthy but really, the treats are really yummy, especially the gelati. I particularly liked what the server recommended, which was the pistachio with candied lemon, and the chocolate hazelnut which my nephew had.Go now while there are no lines snaking around the block! (Although the server said there are long lines in the weekends).
Flavorful! The real gelato!!The attention was super polite and fast.Only thing that I dont consider as a fault from Venchi but the clients is that the tables were pretty dirty. They have trash cans but people left the cups and napkins all over the place...Prices are right and its a very good quality!!!So this is a yes on my list!
I asked for a “small coffee gelato in a plain cone” and this is what I got for $6.52 - the tiniest ball you ever did see 😳 is this real? Also- the doors are wide open during a heat wave in July- not sure this place is doing right by our planet? Why blast AC’s and keep two huge doors wide open in 93 degree heat? Please Help save our planet guys, keep the doors closed? Isn’t this a law in NYC anyway?
First of all, the colorful interior of this place caught my eye. The taste of gelato was normal and nothing was special. It was little over priced comparing the amount of gelato I got. Honesty, Its a great place to buy gelato, take pictures, and post it on Instagram. There was chocolate fountain too. But I think thats all.
Beautiful place but horrible Nutella crepe. The first one I ordered was burnt from inside and when I asked them to change it the server was frustrated and gave a another one without any Nutella.Waste of money! They perfected the beautiful decor could have perfected the food too.
This is a nice find for someone with an icecream sweet tooth. What is even better for those in the know, is the fact that they serve gelato, the more sophisticated cousin of regular churned goodness. Their flavors are explorative but also cover the basics, such as plain vanilla, chocolate, etc. The place has a European flavor beyond the bite, from decor to seating and display of its many Italian crafted chocolates that pad the walls. It is not the pricyest but it isnt cheap. Also it is just diagonal from the union square park so not a bad option for a companion on your stroll through the park.
Im not a sweets person but this place may be changing that real quick! The gelato is so flavorful, and actual flavor, not just a bucket of sugar. They have fruit sorbets but its their chocolate/ coffee/ hazelnut inspired ice cream that stole my heart.A regular is two scoops and the gourmet cone for 2 dollars more is chocolate dipped and covered in nuts right before you. These flavors are incredible! They also have pastries and cookies. There is a sitting area towards the back where you feel surrounded by chocolate pouring down the walls (its not chocolate but the illusion is real and please dont touch).A taste of Italy, this place is great to fall into for something sweet and a coffee or maybe both! Enjoy
Edited review: this place used to be very modern when it was open. Now it is loosing on its quality. The icecream size is getting much smaller. My original review: A very nice place with a nice chocolate fountain. Tasty ice cream. At first it looked pricey, however the size of a super size ice cream is huge with extra candies on the top. It is clean, it is new, it is very authentic Italian place.
If you are a chocaholic this place is your jam. I went there to have a gelato and I saw millions of chocolate, a chocolate waterfall and a fantastic chocolate-oriented decor. For my gelato, I chose the white chocolate with salted nuts and coconut. I wasnt impressed by the white chocolate but the coconut is simply perfect. Next time I will by some chocolate and try other gelato flavors. Highly recommend, especially if you are strolling Union Square and need something cold and sweet.
You have to go here for you finest tasting chocolate, you would not be disappointed and the chocolate water fall is just something to see! The lounge could get a little crowed but if you wait a little you would find somewhere to seat, and there are USB charging port underneath the chair s
Gourmet chocolate establishment. I go here almost exclusively for their hot chocolate. Full disclosure, its $6 for a 6oz cup. But its worth it and you dont need any more than that 6oz. Its rich, creamy, smooth, not too sweet, and hot. Like they serve it fresh so you dont have to worry about it getting luke warm too quickly. I introduce friends and family to these places and so far its been a hit every time. If you can afford the splurge, give it a try. The chocolate is really good here too according to friends, Ive just never had it myself
The best ice cream in the World!!!! Finally in NYC. Every year I visit London and make sure I have ice cream at Venchi, now I dont have to wait to go to London to have this. I dont know what it is about it but it is definitely the best Ive had. And Ive had ice creams in NYC, LA , Florida , Chicago, Cancun, all over the Caribbean, Paris, Dubai and India but nothing like Venchi. Go for it
Its chocolate! I love chocolate. This has a beautiful, Id small, indoor seating area with a waterfall that looks like melted chocolate. We had some of the BEST hot chocolate I ever had. We also bought several prewrapped chocolates and enjoyed them all very much. If you like chocolate, (and who doesnt?), dont miss out on a stop here at Venchi.
Ah... I am a very exigeant gelato lover.. and this place took my heart away.. after almost 10 years in NYC searching for the best gelato I think I finally found it.. the last title holder was GROM followed closely by AMORINO.. but now Venchi is taking the lead and by far.. I can say with confidence that it’s the closest gelato to the one I had in Italy and other parts of Europe. And please try CREMINO 1878 flavor, you will plan your next visit there right away.
I heard about this place from friends and decided to try it. The first thing that immediately impressed me was the interior! Something really new and unbeaten, also the service! Very friendly staff. As it turned out, the place is rich not only in ice cream for every taste, but also they have delicious chocolates. i will definitely come back here until I have tried all the flavors of ice cream.
LOVE this place! Only so happened to pass by it when I went to 14th Street, I was honestly hit by how delicious the place smells, very comfortable seating area in the back, right next to a beautiful flowing chocolate wall, love the decor of the place was well, felt like I was in Milan.
Great find for delicious Italian gelato and chocolate goodies! Its also a cool place to hang out on nice leather wraparound couch and electric sockets to charge your laptop or phone. Behind the couch is a chocolate waterfall which calms your mind. Love the music too!
I’ve been wanting to come here forever and it’s sad to say that I was a little disappointed by what I got. I got the gelato, which was incredibly overpriced (but I understand because the location). Was the gelato even good? Eh. The gelato was pretty flavorless, in my opinion. I paid almost $8 for two small scoops and it wouldn’t have been worth it at $4. I have to say, though, that the inside of the store is very beautiful and the service was kind. But for the price and taste of the gelato, I don’t think this is a place I would go to on the regular.
Hidden away near Union Square park is Venchi. A chocolate specialty spot boasting a gelato station, chocolates for sale, and a seating area with the walls doused with chocolate falling down them. There is glass at the base of the wall but if one was so inclined to, they could grab a taste. I wouldnt recommend that though. An attentive staff helped with my gelato order. I ordered a large cone with hazelnuts at the top of the cone. The large comes with 3 flavors of your choosing. I opted for raspberry as the base and 2 scoops of stracciatella. The stracciatella had chocolate chunk shavings which anyone who has had this flavor before can attest to. Very good. The flavor was nicely sweet and just so good. The raspberry scoop hit me hard with a powerful raspberry flavor. Compared with the stracciatella, it was a nice contrast to have the chocolate and then fruit. I did not have a chance to try the chocolates however, the gelato is great and the chocolate walls surrounding the seating area created a cool atmosphere which is worth the trip!
I truly liked the venue and how nice the staff was. I was able to select my ice cream without feeling pressure to pick after the third sample, which usually happens with a Are you ready to choose face. He even gave us his favorite so we can sort out what is worth tasting. I would like to go back again despite the product price which was worth it.
If you are a chocolate lover, the dark chocolate gelato here is amazing. It is extremely dark, dense, and creamy. They whip it up in a way that gives it a really smooth texture as well. The chocolates at Venchi are also great, but be prepared for a high price - at about $2 per chocolate, it is simply too expensive to justify unless it is a special occasion.
My gf and I randomly walked into this chocolate shop because of attractive interior design. However, we were more surprise with quality and taste of their chocolate. Very rich taste with just enough amount of sweetness. Love this chocolate brand, hope there are more store around in US nationwide.
The chocolatefalls are awesome! You should add this to your map just for the chocolatefalls if nothing else. As a chocolate and falls lover I think this is a genius combination. The store itself is a little expensive but it’s all high quality and delicious so I definitely recommend to visit
All staff members were polite and welcoming. The chocolate is so delicious! They make a cute small gift or treat for friends and family. I was able to sit indoors and enjoy my crepe with a scoop of ice cream. I cant wait for my next visit and try a different flavor ice cream :)
This gelato blew my mind and the store is really gorgeous, staff really nice and attentive. Got a handmade waffle cone lined with their dark chocolate sauce (it’s like homemade hot Nutella) with gelato. They have a small seating area at the back and about 4-5 outdoor tables as well. Didn’t have too much of a line when I was there in a Saturday afternoon!
You can’t escape the smell of this place as you walk by. Inside, you’re greeted by a plethora of gelato flavors and sweet treats, but I decided to keep it simple and go for a single scoop of dark chocolate on a cone. It was rich enough to satisfy my chocolate cravings for the next month. The gentleman behind the counter was quite kind as well, offering samples to try before committing to a flavor. All I can say is I will be back. The quality of this place is undeniable and the service is fantastic.
Cute little chocolate place, you can actually taste the difference between the chocolates and gelatos in the place and compare it to any other ice cream centres (you can name any known brand, and that falls flat). The chocolate fountain where you can sit and taste the deliciousness of their products is mind boggling. Kind of felt like i was almost near the willy wonka and chocolate factory. But hey, if they are the stars you aim to achieve, you will atleast reach the heaven.
I will never visit here again, even if they offered me a years worth of free gelato. Obviously, the employees act as though they hate doing their jobs. When I visited this location, I expected delicious gelato and friendly professional staff. But what I received instead was very rude, inconsiderate, impolite, unprofessional staff, a long as hell wait line and sloppy, gelato that melted all over my clothes and shoes(I still have the stain on my sneakers and pants that didnt come off even in the wash). For overpriced gelato, I should NOT have to endure such disrespect and mistreatment as a paying customer who just wanted to to treat her children to gelato in the city. It sad that businesses like these are allowed to get away with maltreatment of loyal customers.
The ice cream is good here but the experience was not as I was expecting! The guy who was by the counter tonight was like tired and overwhelmed training a new guy! My waiting time was long when nobody but me was waiting to be served. I think because he recognized me as latina he took forever to serve my ice cream .
Fantastic place, I recommend it 100% !!! You will be surprised for the decoration and the chocolate fountain that seems real, they have a lot of variety of flavors I did not know which to choose😂, but thanks to the recommendation of the Colombian girl who recommended me for the cremino and vanilla ice cream shake. It was my first time trying one. I want to return again for another one , and the service was super attentive and fast.
I ordered whip cream on my hot chocolate but couldn’t even taste it, avoid this option or your money will surely be wasted. The drink was too small and overpriced, felt like I was making a chocolate purchase at Hershey’s in the middle of a heist.Chocolate was a bit bitter when compared to other similar shops, based on flavor and cost not a place I would give props thus omitted from my list of chocolate stops.
Love all Venchi products and this shop is beautiful. However, I will probably shop at Eataly for my Venchi products next time as the cashier was looking for a tip even though I was just paying for my chocolate and no service had been received!! Very strange and very greedy. I think its natural to offer a tip if you are drinking coffee or eating ice cream in the shop, but not if the person is only acting as a cashier! Giving three stars as products and shop decor are lovely.
Maybe one of the most awkward and worst customer service experiences I have ever been in- just went out to get a scoop of ice cream after dinner. I saw after I swiped my card that I had been charged over 9 dollars for my scoop of ice cream. They made me pull up my bank statement to prove it and then still denied it and then accused my friend of not paying!!?? Then after I paid, they didn’t have the flavor of ice cream I wanted? It was just really terrible and they did nothing to remedy the situation. I work in a restaurant and I know that’s not how you treat customers.
Best gelato from Venice! We were delighted to find Venchi in NY and wasted no time in indulging ourselves! The space is tiny to sit and savour...a small triangular room with about 4 tables, but the walls are really cool: appearing to be a cascade of molten chocolate. All flavours are great, but my favourites are the hazelnut varieties.
This store is rather small. Lots of people are here for the chocolate sweets and the chocolate waterfall, but there are a few tables to accommodate customers wanting a hot drink and staying warm during the Winter season. An item a friend ordered was very small for $3, I laughed as she was disappointed not only with the size, but the quality. Though, the employees were very helpful by thoroughly cleaning the tables. I also liked the chocolate waterfall.
The fluff is what attracted me to this place. The colourful displays and the flowing chocolate on tap, its beautiful and almost theatrical in a way, but dont let that fool you, this is greatly overpriced, its the stuff that got me paused as the taste of the products of interest were mediocre and have been found wanting....perhaps, to the exception of my delicious crêpe.
Love the chocolates! Especially the dark chocolate truffles. The coffee is mediocre. The gelato looks delicious but I have not tried them. I also like the chocolate fountain deco - I would seriously give it 5-star if they would let me scoop melted chocolates out of the fountain! My only problem is the lack of tables
Super cute chocolate/gelato shop right by Union Square aka incredibly convenient, but also frequently packed. The brand is super popular in Italy (and in Europe in general) and I can definitely see why. They sell chocolate boxes, truffles, chocolate bars, and individually wrapped chocolates priced by how much they weigh!Items are all pretty expensive, but you can tell theyre all high quality. You can definitely sample the gelato before getting it which is a great way to try a couple more flavors before really deciding where you want to spend your money.I absolutely loved their Venchi Suprema chocolate spread! It reminds me of Ferraro Rocher / Nutella because its made from chocolate and hazelnut. You can tell that all the ingredients are sooo high quality here (e.g., their spread uses extra-virgin olive oil).My friend and I recently tried both their spreads (which you can buy in jars or add to your gelato, hot chocolate, crepe, etc.), their gelato with a Suprema chocolate spread dipped cone and some crunchies, and their rich hot chocolate. Yes, we indulged ourselves and go the Suprema XV hot chocolate but they also have a classic one without the spread / whipped cream and they have an alcoholic one called the Cuba Rhum. The chocolate wall is a cute addition to the store, but its actually oil! Makes sense since an actual chocolate wall dripping down would probably attract all sorts of bugs and would definitely be a mess. Not THAT many seats, but enough for you and a couple friends to still sit together. Would suggest coming in parties of 4 or less if you want to sit down though.Stop by, but be ready to drop some money and have an intense sugar rush/crash!
Delicious gourmet gelato and chocolates. The store is shaped like an ice cream cone, whether intentional or just the space that they could get, with couch seating at the point of the cone. Theres chocolate flowing down the walls behind the seats which makes the whole room smell like chocolate, and also seems a bit...unsanitary? Definitely unsanitary is the seating, which because it is so busy, the tables dont get cleaned of sticky dripping gelato before the next person squeezes into a seat. I recommend taking a look at the fountain and taking your dessert to the nearby Union Square Park.
I love their chocolate creamier and light. Melts in mouth. Little pricey than regular chocolates but definitely tastes gooood.. They have other items on menu like cappuccino, gelatos etc and they recently priced. Their shop wall was mesmerizing n tempting to touch. It looked like chocolate flowing over walls. Small place to hang out but nice decor.I would definitely re-visit.
If anyone has ever been to Italy they would know this place has the best gelato hands down and sorbet for the vegans! Worth every penny not too pricy and pretty much every flavor is good and you get a few flavors with the purchase of a large! The chocolates are expensive but super great! Just a taste of Italy inside NYC right within walking distance of union square the perfect complement to some gelato!
My friend and I were treated extremely poorly by one of the girls behind the counter, who spat at us with such disgust we felt like maybe she thought we were personally responsible for abortion law in Georgia. Yes, it was at that level. And Im not being nasty, we really really wanted to have a beautiful experience, since it’s a new shop in our hood. There was no welcome, no walk through on how to order, what the size names meant, what the prices were, and no ‘thank you, come again’ or anything of that nature you’d expect in such a pretty store. There werent more than two or three other people inside, and nobody in line for ice cream, so we were confused. Thus, sadly, 1 star for service. The pistachio ice cream we got was nice but honestly we were too distracted at that point.
When I ordered the baby size gelato, the smallest size listed at the front desk, the clerk told me they didn’t have that size, and that the smallest would be regular size, which is more expensive. But after I paid the money, the other guy who would give the gelato to me asked which size I had ordered, regular or baby. They did have baby size available. Also, it’s not worthy at all to spend such high price for such mediocre gelato. This store is not a place to go if you want to have a fair customer experience, as well as a good, or even okay gelato.
I dont mind if the hot chocolate is overpriced if it tastes good, but this hot chocolate was literally hot fudge, it turned into a chocolate bar once i walked outside into the 30 degree weather. I would suggest changing the recipe. After a while it was like drinking chocolate lava, gross. Wont be returning, ill go down the block to Starbucks.

2022-05-29Venchi is a must-visit if you love ice cream and are looking for one of the best ice cream stores in NYC. Ive been to a couple of locations and Ive enjoyed all of them. All the flavors that Ive tried have lived up to the hype. Would highly recommend visiting Venchi!

2022-04-12If there was a diabetic planet, this shop will be an alien in it. Have you watched chocolate fountain inside transparent walls? Well, check out this store! We randomly ran into this store while walking from Union Square towards Flat Iron. Inside the store, it’s just sugar-vibes all around the place - walls full of chocolate bars and toffees and customers buzzing around the ice cream and gelato counters. We got ourselves few chocolate bars and they are authentically too delicious.Ice creams, we will come back for them another day ;)

2022-06-28Great gelato with 15 ish options including 6 vegan ones at a reasonable $8.50 for 3 decent sized scoops. Also, a insanely large wall of chocolate bars (over 2,000 bars, each around $10 for a 100 g bar), chocolate truffles ($12-16 per 1/4 pound), tons of chocolate box gift options, 2 pound chocolate bar, shakes etc. and a beautiful chocolate fountain that you cant touch. The staff is really friendly and offer samples of both the chocolate, gelato and even the spreads which was really nice. The chocolate while expensive is definitely worth trying, especially the exotic flavors one would truggle to find elsewhere.I really love the vegan (water) pistachio and they liked it more than the regular one because the flavor came out really well. The mango sorbet and Hazelnut and chocolate were also amazing.

2022-09-09Me and my wife were casually strolling around USQ area on Friday after work and bumped into this place. On of our friend had recommended this place to us for tasty gelato but we found the decor really amazing and couldn’t resist to try it out. The chocolate hazelnut gelato was really tasty. We loved the chocolate waterfall decor and truly it was spectacular. Usually the chocolate waterfall we have seen at other places is not so well lit and welcoming.I would definitely recommend this place for both gelato and decor

2022-06-14Great chocolate store and great gelato ice cream! The pistachio flavor is pretty good, nutty and not too sweet. The Brutto and Bruno flavor is a bit too sweet, but the crunchiness of hazelnut in the flavor is really an add-on for the layer of flavor.A recommended ice cream and chocolate store near flatiron!

2022-02-14The chocolate heaven 😇😇😇😇 this location has some seating and some tables outside as well. Of course all the chocolate are good and gelatos. They also had some other menu on the wall! Aka drinks! Love the chocolate fall and decor!!!

2022-06-27Great gelato! But very touristy, there was a long line on a weekend. We got coffee and chocolate - amazing combination. The crepes are quite small

2022-08-30I have to say hands down the best gelato I’ve tried, aside from the delicious vegan options my fave (mango passion fruit), but not only are these delicious, also the service is amazing. SEBASTIAN is THE BESTTTT! He’s wonderful I love seeing him every time I come here. Always got a smile :) bringing you awesome customer service! I recommend everyone to stop by if you’re around Union Square. I almost forgot to mention the chocolate fountain (so aesthetically pleasing)

2022-07-13The people who work here are so very nice, upbeat and kind. With such unique flavors, your patience and explanations are appreciated, sincerely. The choc caviar and cream custard worked really well together and complimented each other. Thank you for placing it side by side so I could enjoy both simultaneously😋The store itself and chocolates are high end and sophisticated so I expected (and was prepared to pay) a higher rate for my gelato. Surprisingly their prices are the same as most of the other 20 or so places I’ve visited in nyc this summer if not less expensive☀️Thank you for a spectacular experience ❤️
