Vent Fitness in other cities:
Pre-Pandemic Vent would have normally received a 2 Star rating but with the actions of Vent Fitness within the last year, I wish I could give them a 0 Star rating. After shutting down the gym back on March 16th 2020, Vent Fitness decided to charge my monthly membership fee the following day after they announced on Facebook they would be closing until further notice. Then when gyms were allowed back to open at 1/3 capacity, they decided again to charge people a yearly fee regardless if they felt safe to go to the gym or not; knowing that nobody was allowed to use the gym for half a year. At this point, I decided to freeze my account and wanted to wait until I felt it was a safer environment before I returned to Vent Fitness. A couple months went by and unbeknownst to me, my account was unfrozen and I was charged another monthly fee. My assumption was that I would have had it frozen until the pandemic was over so I wasn’t going to get repeatedly charged every few months, but that wasn’t the case. I tried to reach out about all the preposterous fees and never received any justification for this matter. After a few more attempts to get clarification, I received a couple emails saying I would be credited with one month free (The money should have been put into my banking account rather than credited) and that the monthly fees would be increasing more than 30%. I called recently to confirm I had some credit towards the gym and was told I had no such thing. The employee told me that a manager would get back to me and I never received any call from Vent Fitness. Regardless of what any employee of Vent Fitness says, the way they practice business is unethical and borderline criminal.Oh wait, I forgot to tell you why Vent Fitness would receive a 2 star rating before the pandemic started. I’ll keep it short and sweet. Vent Fitness decides when it wants it’s already paying customers to actually use the basketball court. They would rather have a random person spend money to rent the court than to let the paying members use it. Too many times have I walked into the gym to play and was told I couldn’t even though I paid my monthly membership. Again, poor way of running a business. In conclusion, you are better off spending your hard earned money on literally any other gym in the area. Most other gyms provided the same equipment, charge $10 a month, and won’t put you through torture like Vent Fitness does.
I checked this gym out, thinking of switching and when I walked through today I realized why I would never join vent. First off it is way over priced. Second when I was checking things out, the equipment is old probably been there for years. They definitely don’t invest in new stuff from what I could tell, way to much cardio not being used and a free weight area way way over packed. There was dumbbells and plates all torn up looked like someone ate them. Then everyone was standing around on their phones not lifting. Looks way too crowded to even deal with that, nobody racking their weights, half the people not wiping down after they used the machines. I walked out definitely all set with not joining and staying at abc,
In a year when our fitness industry throughout NY and other states like CA was practically destroyed during Covid I was so thankful to find the Vent Fitness facility had not only survived but was thriving with enthusiastic members again. I have frequented the Guilderland location for over two decades whenever I visit family back in the capital district.Vent has continually progressed over the years with offerings of new equipment and services. Since Covid, they have incorporated extensive cleaning protocols of equipment for which the members have become active participants. And while many companies and businesses in the Capital District have lacked and failed with customer service since opening up after Covid, (sometimes for lack of employees), Vent Guilderland has not succumbed to this. In the 21 years I have worked in the fitness industry in Los Angeles and Southern CA, some of which has been at Flagship locations for North America, I pay attention to customer service. The Vent team has a stellar cast of employees. I particularly found the interaction with Ben Garcia to not only be stand out but to be a case study of what needs to happen post covid to engage old members and encourage new ones to come in. Sustained and focused eye contact is a powerful tool for communicating conviction and confidence with members and Ben I can tell is a natural. His genuine and sincere interest in members and passion for what he does displays his commitment to exceptionalism and would easily place him a position in West Los Angeles or Beverly Hills top fitness facilities.Ben also remembered who I was after my first couple days back and took accountability for an issue that was not necessarily anyone’s fault but had taken up a bit of my time. (Seems an old neighbor I use to have is in their system with a first name and last name, equivalent to my first name and middle name). And a shout out to the maintenance and facilities manager for finding some equipment that I had left there and securing it in a safe place. It’s a huge relief to know this club puts their members first without question both pre and post Covid.
Updated based on Managers response.Pros: Large gym with lots of equipment options; and they are well organized. They seem to be constantly vacuuming. Billing has been fine. Check in is smooth.Cons: Dirty. When it rains there are leaks all over. Masks arent enforced inside. Ive seen people spitting on the ground. There is constant pee all over the floors and dividers; and in the same spots, making me think it is a cleaning issue. They seem understaffed, it is not like you ever see employees not working. Limiting court use isnt enforced (which is a pro sometimes). Ive seen them enforce the wristband requirement twice. Otherwise, it tends to be too busy to use. TVs on cardio can be iffy; Ive had to fix the coaxial cable connection many times. The clunky interface on the machines isnt their fault, but it is better at other locations.Note: The other locations are much better in nearly all of these areas and the main hope behind this review is that they consider fixing some of these issues. 2 Stars because there is potential.Edit:So I took the advice of Vent Fitness reply and gave them another chance. Actually, Ive gone back to this location 3 times since then.Nothing has changed, if anything things are worse. The basketball court is consistently maskless. Commonly people are running with their mask not just below their nose, but below their mouth. It wouldnt bother me that much of Vent didnt also send emails to all members about how safe gyms are and how they do their part.Today, the bathroom was flooded again. Instead of cleaned, a few towels were thrown on it and a caution, slippery when wet sign. Cleaning crew was vacuuming. For whatever reason, they grouped 10 pieces of equipment so tight they almost touch to make room for monkey bars I havent seen used yet. If you can high five each other from your seat between sets, youre too close, even in pre-COVID times.I really hope this place gets better and these issues arent signs the gym is failing business-wise.
Vent fitness has convenient locations and even the basic gym only plan allows you to go to any Vent fitness locations (of which Ive only been to Guilderland and Niskayuna, NY locations so far). Guilderland Vent is newer and has more amenities if you choose a more comprehensive plan (such as a pool, rock climbing wall, and basket ball court to name a few). Niskayuna Vent has a better parking lot and cleaner dressing room and has great equipment as well (not as new as Guilderland but still a great gym). Staff at both facilities are friendly & helpful.
Guilderland is great the manager Rob and Trainer Shelby are rock stars. i have just gotten into fitness and they have been welcoming to me and my kids. i know the the current situation that this is a bit out of the scope but what i would like to see is child care so i have a place for my youngest to go while i work out..
The facility is clean, classes are really good, as are the Challenge events. The happiest I have been with a local gym. Mike Malone is a fantastic trainer - he has taught me a ton about technique and tailored training to my needs/goals/challenges. I highly recommend him.
I have been with Vent since the beginning and was at Golds before that. I have not had any issues with billing, taking classes, having a trainer (Theresa Fiori you are fantastic). I am a morning person and the place is always being cleaned when I am there. I average 4-5 mornings a week. Can this cleanliness be said about other fitness centers? The classes and instructors (Jerry Cunningham, Jeannine Gannon, Kelly Gillan, Dawn Jones, to mention a few) are varied and motivating. You can ask any Vent trainer/instructor for help and they are happy to give it to you. I ask often.Gina L. Is a terrific administrator and appears to have a good handle on the daily operations. She is available to members too.I enjoy the various amenities and offerings from Vent at all locations. Vent offers something for all and I am a satisfied and happy Vent participant.I always feel there is room for improvement and Vent continually strives forward in a positive direction.
I love this gym. The staff is great and I did not have a problem in freezing my account until I had my surgery. I love the juice bar and they always are super friendly when it comes to ordering what you want. The Jacuzzi was broken a lot, so I hope that it will be more reliable when I return. The steam room is great and the pool is nice even though there is a lot of chlorine in there.
Ive been going to this gym for many years. I attend classes and one of my favorite classes is Zumba with Jay,He is a great instructor, always pleasant and such a terrific personality makes the class so much fun!I also go to chisel and body attack with Janelle Murray who is a great instructor so pleasant and makes the class challenging and fun.
I have been with Vent in Guilderland for a couple of years. It’s a good gym and has great staff. I train with Mike Malone and you can’t find a better or more knowledgeable trainer. He understands his client’s needs and gives workouts specifically for that client. He is awesome! Vent is fortunate to have him as a trainer.
Vent Fitness Guilderland is top notch for so many reasons. I can always find a workout I enjoy because they offer such a variety with times that meet anyones schedule. Equipment is great quality, aesthetics are nice, and the facility is clean. I get disappointed when I have to miss a Saturday morning with Zumba Jay. He makes the class so much fun I never leave without a smile. Classes with Jerry C are great. He is encouraging, motivating, and pays attention to each individual in his class. Samantha makes the brutal Studio work outs enjoyable and pushes you to your full potential. All of these coaches are non-judgmental and meet you at your level of comfort and fitness. Christian always greets us with a smile, as do all the other support staff at the front and throughout the gym. The kids play area is a huge bonus. The staff in there always give an excited welcome to my daughter and greet her by name. I can’t say enough about this gym. A++
Great Gym. Staff are always open to help. Trainer Mike Malone is second to none. Hes helped me become more comfortable with pushing my limits physically and mentally. He prepares you step-by-step after talking to you about your goals and your limitations physically. Very knowledge.
Me and My son Love VENT Fitness Guilderland. I lost over 100 Lbs and when the weight found me after an injury😣 They helped me rehab and get the pounds off for Good! Jay and Barbara the Splash instructors are very caring and attentive! You get more than a workout, you get a Gym Family. My son still remembers his swim instructor. He keeps me motivated by reminding me that its time to go to VENT. The Kids Zone staff is Awesome!
VENT has a great variety of classes for everyone to chose from. I couldn’t imagine finding more dedicated trainers and a more fun group of people to work out with anywhere else. In particular, I have been so impressed with (trainer) Mike Malone. He is incredibly knowledgeable and does everything he can to help you reach your personal goals. From Kelly G to Kiersten to Dana to Anthony S to Mike Finlay and on and on... they are all excellent!
Ive been a member of this location for a few years and I absolutely love it! When I check in, Im greeted continuously with smiles and pleasant chat. I attend Mondays and Saturdays Zumba classes with Zumba Jay. This class is full of such great energy! Jay brings such high energy to his classes! Always creative with his themed classes, playlists and dance moves! I dont know anyone who leaves his class without smiling and sweating!
Ive been training at VENT in Guilderland for a couple of years now. They have the best personal trainers around. Most recently, Ive been group training with Ryan John, who is energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping people reach their training goals. His classes are a blast! In addition to getting a great workout, his classes leave me with a positive attitude and a sense of accomplishment.
I have belonged to many gyms over the years but I never stuck with them. I joined Vent 5 years ago and Im still there. I started with aqua classes with Jason (Zumba Jay) and worked up to Zumba classes and personal training. Vent is always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and they offer a great variety and schedule of classes. I mostly take classes with Zumba Jay because he makes every workout fun yet challenging. He has a high energy level that is very motivating. I highly recommend Jasons classes at Vent Fitness.
My opinion may be biased as I train and teach classes at Vent, but I have worked at other Health and wellness facilities and have worked out at numerous other gyms in the Capital District as well as Hudson Valley.Well here is the skinny, scoop or nowadays “tea” on Vent Fitness.Vent Fitness has some of the best and educated trainers I have seen. You have a great mix of Veteran trainers like Beth, Terry Mike and Doug to trainers who have been in the game the last few years like Sam, Josh, Anthony and all are led by Mike Finley who is down to earth as it gets. I have witnessed them work with their clients and all are well respected attentive and help their clients achieve the goals they set out for.The group X classes have a great variety of formats as well as instructors from Zumba Jay, Charolette, Janelle, Jeannine and many others who all have dedicated members who take what ever class they teach no matter the time. The equipment on the floor is plentiful and like most gyms between 5-7pm the floor gets tight and has a good amount of body builders or aspiring body builders on the floor. Don’t let that turn you away as these guys and girls would be more than happy to help you with an exercise if asked. I know I have talked to plenty when I am just working out and they are more than happy to share or help.If you are looking for that boutique studio Vent has the E3 Studio which will get your heart pumping and the sweat leaving. In my opinion the cost of Vent is very reasonable with all it offers. I have been a member down state where membership was much more for much less.As for some of the bad reviews which seems a few years ago talking about the staff. I have had nothing but good experience with the staff from the cleaning crew especially Ray, who gives Vent the white glove treatment, to the Highs School/college age kids. I come and go at different times and faces change so not everyone knows I work their, but I am always greeted with a smile and a hello and goodbye. If some of the bad reviewers can remember a time when they had their first job, sometimes it takes time to warm up to it, and with Rob and Ryan leading the way the transition is smooth. If you ever had any issue Gina L who is just a super person, and runs Vent like Dalton ran the Double Deuce in Road House will always help ya out.Anywho I have worked out at all the Vents, each is unique in its own style and design but the people remain the same, which is dedicated to its members experience
Love the classes, and the instructors. ZUMBA JAY makes every workout fun while he makes you sweat-he is reason enough to join this club! Sometimes I have to drag myself to the gym, but I feel so good after his class I’m always glad I went! Try it once and you’ll be hooked!
Its a great place to excercise. Its be most spacious gym I have ever been to(compare to my previous experience with various YMCAs). I am so lucky and greatful to find a great trainer as Jerry Cunningham, he has helped to shape my goal and has been always focussed and keeps motivating me to work towards it.Kudos to the cleaning staff too, they kept the gym very neat and clean. Also, I will mention about Mike, who alway helped me to get the best deals.I would definitely recommend Vent Fitness.
This is the best gym in the area. Professional and challenging classes, all the gym necessities without needing personal trainer access, easy usability and all the equipment is on the same floor in the same area (eliminating the intimidation). Yea sure, it gets crowded during peak hours because its a popular place. But if you wake up a little earlier to get in before work, you can be the only one in the hot tub/sauna/water massage table. Member since May 2015.
I was impressed with the amount of classes. The staff was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed Focusmaster, I didnt think I would be-able to do it but the instructor and members we very encouraging. Kelly was awesome. The guy who signed me up I think his name was JR took time to explain the programs and I got the level 3 membership. I was impressed he remembered my the name long after I signed up. The staff treated me like family. I am bringing all my friends to Vent Guilderland. The gym is old but they keep it cleaned. Keep the classes coming..
Joining a winter challenge was the best decision I ever made, coached by Mike Malone. I do personal training with him as well and he has made me reach goals that I never thought I could. He is very in tune with everyone he trains and always pushes you to do your very best and even surpass what you thought was possible!
Ive been a VENT Guilderland member now for several years. I enjoy and participate in various different classes and use the equipment but having Mike Malone as a trainer and being a member of his Team Minions in the challenges has made all the difference in the world for me and my overall health and fitness. He is an amazing motivator who really knows his business helping guide each individual he trains become the best they can be.
I’ve been a member of Vent Fitness in Guilderland for the past three years! Walking in the first day I met Gina! She gave me a tour and said “just try one class”! I’ve been hooked every since! Meeting some of the most amazing people who motivate me daily! Jerry Cunningham is our leader! His ability to keep changing things up and keeping them fresh has been the success to filling up his classes. Don’t be late or you’ll loose your space!!!
Impressed! Never have I ever made any commitment to a gym routine as I have the last seven months. I find Vent at Guilderland a very welcoming and friendly place. With the help of the wonderful instructors namely Jerry Cunningham ( he makes us feel like we are the only one in the class he focuses on when he calls out our names, pushing us to the limit and more!). Jeannine Gannon ( with her infectious enthusiasm and her ability to inspire us, I push myself through the barriers of any previous injury pain) Charlotte ( her hilarious sense of humor and relatable encouragement pushes me to complete task at hand so I can reward myself a sweet food treat later 😁). LOVE THIS PLACE 👍🏻
Ive only started using the facilities but so far its pretty spaced out. There are tons of machines for cardio. During 5-7, the gym is quite busy in the weights section and there can be a bit of a wait on the bench and squat racks. Overall, its petty clean and the members are quite friendly. The price is quite reasonable as well. No lunk alarm!Ill update this in a month with any additional info. Cheers!
This place is wonderful. I just joined, and everyone is fantastic. People complain a lot about this gym in the comments but their comments show their lack of actual gym knowledge. I lifted all throughout college and have become out of shape so I joined a gym to get back into the shape I was in in college. Gyms are crowded. If you dont want a crowded gym, youll pay a very pretty penny. Gyms have lots of treadmills because the average person is too intimidated to touch the weights....abs???? Most people dont use machines for abs..... And yes, the renovations are continuing and will be done this winter....so not a lie.So onto the gym. Yeah, there are a few people there, but at 5...6 oclock at night....its really pretty easy to find equipment. If the equipment I wanted wasnt available....it wasnt a long wait for it. There is a lot of variety in equipment....more than other gyms I have seen. My only criticism is that I wish they had a bit more of the lighter dumbbells. My mother has been starting to go to the gym and there was one set of 3# for her and the 5# were quickly snatched up. I also HATE running inside but cold air mutilates my nose in winter so I have to run on a treadmill. VENT knows how boring this is so they have tons of activities...TVs....music....and a virtual screen that looks like you are running through Arizona trails or even Venetian streets. And for the person who enjoys classes....there are plenty! The staff are friendly...and they definitely dont judge....as my mom is overweight and they have wonderful to her. They are great for answering questions and are open to suppirting you to meet your goals. I highly recommend this place!
Ive been going to vent for a couple years now. since moving to Albany i never thought id find a gym Home but I did in VENT. Ive loved it so much to a point that im sad when I rarely have to miss it. The trainers, the atmosphere and the opportunities are are amazing. At Vent YOU come first which I what I fell in love with.
Ive been a member at Vent for 11 months and absolutely love it! Their class schedule is perfect - and I can always find a time that fits my busy life. When not taking a class, I can always get on cardio equipment or use the weights, balls, etc. I think one of my favorite things is that people of all ages, shapes and sizes go to Vent. I take classes with senior citizens and college students. The instructors always give different levels to do the exercises, so everyone in the class is catered to.
When they designed the Guilderland Vent, they really knew what they were doing. I’m impressed with how clean it is, KUDOS to the cleaning crew. In fact, It seems like the entire staff are always striving to do better. I started going over a year ago but haven’t lost motivation, this has a lot to do with Jerry Cunningham. He truly cares about his clients, knows how to motivate and gives just a little extra to help you reach your goals. I also love that his wife and daughters come to support him. Not once have I felt like I’m wasting my time or money..
Today I have decided to cancel the membership and just sent the online cancellation form. I did not even receive an email acknowledgement of my cancellation request, only a page saying Thank you for submitting your form, a member of our team will review and contact you via email... So, I basically have no proof that I submitted my request. Lets see what happens and I will update this post with the outcome. Here is the background story:I actually attempted to downgrade my membership first. Called, then went to the club on 2/13/19 only to find out that no team lead was available at 6 pm. They left at 5. Called today on 2/14/19 to attempt to downgrade over the phone, and was not provided with option. We need signatures, you have to come in.... Well, I feel that I should not be made to come in again considering that I already did. I dont feel that it is my problem that the manager had to leave early on the day I came in, and I dont see why this cant be done over the phone. If anything, scan the signature page and I will sign it and fax/email/mail it back to you. We do have technology, right?Needless to say, I was very disappointed, then decided to read reviews online. After reading less than favorable reviews online (all regarding customer service, rating at 2.6 on yelp), I got even more disappointed. Hence the decision to cancel altogether. Lets see what happens with my cancellation request and how things play out now. I am giving this rating 2 stars only because I used to really really like this gym. But, VENT, you need to do better with customer service. When I cancel my cable service or phone service, I dont have such issues.... Very, very disappointed.
The Guilderland Vent Fitness is a Great Fitness Center. I have been a member there for over 16 years, when it began as Gold’s gym. I attend Chisel and Body Circuit classes (miss Butts and Guts class) for which Jerry Cunningham is the instructor and he is top notch, he focuses on form and goes above and beyond helping Vent members achieve their goal, in and out of class. Kelly Gillin instructs Spin and Train 30 classes that I also attend and she also provides excellent workouts, Coaching us to push ourselves to reach our potential. Then there is Zumba Jay, who makes the Zumba classes Fun, the class is over before we know it. These instructors keep us healthy.
I love VENT because no matter what you look like or what shape you are in, everyone there is welcoming, friendly, and always encouraging us to get into better shape at a safe pace. Mike Malone is a trainer at VENT and he is a master at challenging people in his classes no matter what shape they are in. He finds a way to make it fun, safe, and appropriately challenging for everyone he works with! I have increased energy, less joint pain, feel stronger, and have lost over 10 pounds since taking classes with Mike over the past few months. Mike Malone has been a blessing in my life!
Great gym, I cant believe people are complaining about the small stuff and giving bad reviews. Try another gym like ABC and see what happens. Pool and sauna are great and so are the weights and machines. Ive tried all the gyms around the area, the guilderland vent is the best one.
Vent in Guilderland is my gym of choice because there is so much to choose from for fitness from day to day between classes, floor work, personal training, swimming or small specialized fitness classes. Jerry Cunningham, personal trainer and group fitness instructor is my go to guy at Vent, very professional, motivating and informative....a definite asset!!
With the extra $50 I pay a year (and likely many others as well) for gym improvements youd think they could provide a barbell shoulder protector (or 2) that isnt old and falling apart. This gym is also missing a back extension machine. This gym gets the job done but it could be better for the $400+ I pay a year for it.
I usually Vent at Niskayuna, but visit Guilderland on Monday and Saturday. The gym itself is terrific. In particular, I enjoy Zumba with Jason Halse (Zumba Jay) a lot. Not only is it good exercise, its a lot of fun the way Jason teaches it. Definitely recommend taking one of his classes.
The rating is 5* because I am trying to shamelessly plug, ZUMBA JAY!, In hopes that he wins best Zumba-er? IDK nor care, he has taught 3 classes I have taken and each one I expected each to suck, but he has made then fun and almost enjoyable (it is exercise so unless you enjoy sweating like a pig, I say almost enjoyable).Separate from the contest hes a great instructor for beginning people too. You will laugh and smile through a hell of a workout.
I know how annoying it is to be stuck at work late I work 12.5 hour shifts but I find it kind of off putting that 15 mins before the gym closes they like to flash the lights on and off at you. I was certainly alarmed me the first time I worked out there late and it happened. I thought the power went out or there was something going on with their electrical. glad I wasn’t in the middle of lifting something heavy when it first happened. I think there’s a more polite way to hint you’re about to close. The staff at best fitness will start shutting off all of the TVs and announce that their closing on the loud speaker it makes me aware I need to wrap up my work out but don’t feel like I’m being kicked out before they even close.
Nice facility. Enrolled for 3 day free trial membership and I was told I had access to everything but most of the rooms required access. I asked for the massager log-in code and I was given the look as if I was coming here just to access free stuff. If you want people to pay from day 1 dont promote 3 day free trial, I am okay paying for the full membership but dont want the embarrassment. Staff seemed a little unfriendly to me on few occasions.
I just want to say that I absolutely love going this facility. I feel so comfortable and at ease here. Thanks to ZUMBA JAY which is who introduced me to the place. Zumba Jay has been a rock star. Killing it in all the classes he leads from Zumba, aqua, strong by Zumba, and body pump. He brings great energy to every class and always is able to put anyone in a hood mood. He’s a true diamond in the ruff when it comes to instructors. I encourage everyone to just try one of his classes bc you’ll for sure leave with a workout and feeing great about yourself.
Not enough lifting equipment. This gym is absolutely fancy, but it lacks practicality in a big way. Its a shame because its located in a great location and attracts a trendier collective of consumers. They have a pool, a basketball court, a sauna, a steam room, a hot tub, and yes... Its all extra. Which sounds fair in theory, but the lack of equipment and space on the gym floor is a big turn off and having to wait for equipment is just frustrating when it happens constantly. Part of me would be okay with paying just to use the pool area which also houses the hot tub, sauna, and steam room, but alas there is no plan for that.
I was a member of Vent Fitness in Guilderand for over 4 years, and I didnt have many issues as member. However, trying to cancel my membership has been a total hassel bordering on nightmare. Several phone calls later, and I still dont have confirmation that my membership has been cancelled. I have been unable to use the membership for over 7 months, because I bought a house about 35 minutes away, and I also dont work in that area. After several phone calls and having them tell me I was wrong about which location I visited (among many other incorrect details), they finally realized they were looking at the wrong account. I dont know how long this drama is going to continue, because after they finally realized they cancelled the WRONG account, I still dont have a confirmation that they actually cancelled mine.
What makes vent fitness so unique To stand out from others. Hass to be !!!! Zumba J !!!! he’s a wonderful instructor easy to follow makes every class fun exciting and always keeping you on your toes you will get a great workout guaranteed .... the cardio Machines are up-to-date There is a wide array of free weights weight machines and classes not to mention the steam room sauna and pool it is a great clean location.... in love with vent fitness Guilderland !!!!
Jerry is the best instructor that I have, I am so amazed to see his energy level, dedication, devotion, passion and the most important thing is his love about how he is shaping me day by day with very painful(exercise) way. That motivates me to do more and more everyday.-thank you Jerry for all your support and help.
Couldn’t be happier with the facility and all it has to offer. The floor, the equipment and the classes are great.... all the staff and trainers are amazing... especially Jerry Cunningham.... his dedication to his clients and all the members is above and his classes are challenging and fun.
Not a good place everyone is very judgemental and prices are too high. I had the level 4 member ship which was the highest one and gave me access to all rooms but I did not get that access. To overpriced and older adults are always out during kids swimming time which is very strange to me and after many complaints the employees still did nothing about that. Would not recomend to anyone who wants a gym membership.
I have been a member of VENT in Guilderland for around a year and I am continually impressed by the facility and the staff that they have. The professionalism of the staff and the positivity that flows through the building are phenomenal! Shoutout to Sam P. for being an unbelievable trainer and motivator, as well as all of the trainers that lead the level 2 and 3 classes. The location is great, the rates are reasonable for the services provided- not to mention the delicious smoothies! Definitely worth your time!
Needs way less cardio machines and way more racks and weights. The cardio machines take up over 50% of the space and only a third of those machines are ever in use.Meanwhile all the racks and benches are taken and theres not enough room for lifts. Luckily enough the people who work out here are nice enough to take turns on setsThe staff is nice and the gym is clean otherwise.
Spent too much time and effort turning establishment into a glamour gym. Horrible staff, that often have the lowest IQs known to mankind...In addition, canceling a membership proved to be too hard of a task for them (from front door staff to non-existent managers and assistant managers who only have time for themselves). The renovations are nice, but they lost their touch after their transformation. Overcrowded and overpriced for the quality gym provided. Bring back the original Golds Gym. Ill take the lunk alert over this downgrade the Lia Group has provided. This situation will not get any better. AVOID
Great place but they rent pool out to private parties all the time . I have 9 years old who can only allowed to swim on weekends 2 to 4 (family swim) and they keep booking pool out to different parties. We can check in at the front go change getting to pool area just to learn that we are not allowed to use it st this time. They could at least warn us at the front.
I little son had birthday party here. The challenge was rock climbing. After put on the safty gear kids were helped by the attending staff to try the rock climbing> My son was ignored by them , because he is different in color than others. By luck the birth boy dad helped him
I was a member here for a year. I signed up in June 2013. I asked the guy who was signing me up how long before their remodel would be done. He told me janurary 2014. That turned out to be a lie. No big deal to me though I had planned to stay with them regardless. It was a convenient place for me to work out only being a few minutes from my job and my house. I wasnt overly impressed with the amount of cardio machines they had but it seemed to be their upkeep of the equipment was not a priority since they were going to probably get all new stuff. The real kicker for me came when I got a new job and was required to move out of state. I had to end my membership. I went to the location and asked an employee to cancel my memebership. He says he has to go get his supervisor. I see him walk into her office, the door was open and i was within listening distance and sight from them. Shes sitting in her chair talking to him and make eye contact with me. a few moments later the employee i was talking to comes back and tells me to go online because it would be easier. How exactly is it easier when I am standing in front of you and you just talked to your supervisor? I was very frustrated when I left. Not about the gym, not about the employee who i talked to, but the management. How could she look at me, not come talk to me and tell her employee to send me away. I find that to be really rude and the worst possible customer service I have ever received.I went online to the website they gave me. I saw NOTHING about canceling my membership. This is extremely frustrating. I am a tech and web savvy person, so I know thats not the problem. Why make me jump through so many hoops when I am already in good physical shape and enjoyed my membership with them. Not to mention all the money they already took of mine.I would not recommend this place to anyone. Their customer service and their website are extremely lacking.
First I have to say I work in retail in customer service and I would never treat anyone with the way I have been treated by Vent Fitness. I have been told you can not cancel service over the phone it has to be done by going online and submitting a form which was done, they say they never received the online form, called for two months and finally someone canceled over the phone, why? this could not be done! I did what was expected and was informed to do, so now they do not want to refund a yearly 49. fee plus two months of service since I submitted the online form. Now I am being told I have too generate my form which was done online or I will not get a refund. I have reached out to others via social media and this has happened to them as well. I am not letting this happen to any one else. Channel 6 will be notified as well as bbq, plus attorney General. Everyone be careful!
#VentFitnessGuilderland is the BESTJerry C, Janelle L, Dawn J, Charolette T, Jeannine G are all AMAZING STAFF and I love their energy and love for what they do.Not only am I an instructor. But I have taken these peoples classes and they should be recognized for all that they do for Vent GuilderlandZ.J.
The place is nicely laid out, and often very busy; too busy. On many occasions parking is tough to find.I agree 100% with the folks who talk about the immature and often impolite staff. I have contemplated leaving as a result of the staff. But, I am giving it time hoping that Vent management will address the concerns I have raised. If not, there are other games in town.
I canceled my membership in person and they still charged me my annual fees and monthly charged the next month! When contacted them about it they treated me like I was garbage and told me they were doing me a favor by crediting the monthly fee and not the annual fee after their employee told me I was all set in my cancellation. Nothing should have been charged at all
Terrible customer service. i was over billed and the woman i spoke to on the phone was extremely rude . she couldnt be bothered to help me at all. i was billed $40 over my normal monthly fee. strangely NOONE knows why? ill be getting a full refund and as soon as the refund is given i will be canceling my membership at no cost to me. very sketchy that a company can just bill you for random things at any point in time. so not only was i scammed out of money, it makes me wonder how many other times they have taken extra money and i just havent noticed. not happy at all
Poor customer service zero knowledge. i was asking for my membership information couple of weeks back. when i called they said i need to come to office after going there they said membership related issue can not be solved in office and they told me to submit through online. so i did still no response. can anyone know how to contact vetfitness? Dont take any member ship here waste of money and time. try in different fitness center .
I joined vent on a Thursday, by the following Tuesday my wife decided that she wanted to get a family membership at the YMCA to utilize their after-school program for our 1st grader.I contacted Vent about canceling my membership and getting a refund of the membership fees that i paid. I spoke with a manager named Jay and he informed me that even though i have been a member less than a week that not only would i not be receiving a refund, but they were also going to charge me $79 to cancel and that no exceptions would be made. This obviously did not sit well, and I asked to speak with another manager. I was told I could try calling a woman named Patricia in their regional office. So I did call Patricia, explained my whole situation to her, and she too informed me of the same cancelation policy and told me that no exceptions would be made.I find it reprehensible that Vent fitness would be so unwilling to work with an individual that has been a member less than a week and not even entertain the idea of making a compromise or an exception. They obviously do not care about their individual members and would rather force someone to remain a member for a full 12 months than to work with them to maintain good customer relations. This whole situation has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I would strongly advise against doing any business with this money hungry company.
Professional con artists. The staff member told me that a one year membership came with a $9.99 monthly fee and a $40 activation fee. Turns out it was $19.99 and when I talked to management about it, they said, ..you signed, you have to pay the whole contract. The $9.99 membership comes with a $150 activation fee. UNBELIEVABLE. NEVER GOING AGAIN.
On 7/23/13 I worked out at the newly redesigned Vent Fitness in Guilderland. I was soooo WOWED by the space, I had no words until I got the chance to talk to a couple of the very helpful girls to show me around the spacious, clean, beautiful womans locker room, then take a walk around the first floor and see the absolutely welcoming little nooks to sit and chill, and fantastic looking drink bars, and then run upstairs to work out on a machine that was new, USER FRIENDLY, great tv screen, and then on top of that listen to some slammin music from a totally redesigned music system. The place is screamingly wonderful -- it actually MAKES ME WANT TO WORK OUT AGAIN!!!!!!. - ITS NEW, INSPIRED, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN IS ACTUALLY A REAL HIGH. THANKS VENT!!!!! Sue Hitchcock
It is sad to see how the janitorial are working so hard meanwhile the employee at the front desk. Having a great time laughing, with there ,, coworker and eating McDonalds and texting on there cell phone I came here with my friend and I didnt like the gym is so much expensive

2022-06-06Basketball court availability times misrepresented to prospective members and subject to change without notice. I’ve checked the posted schedule multiple times and had gym employed personal trainers tell me that they had the entire court reserved. The rating is because you have to pay $40/month for access to the bball court vs. $20/mo for regular membership, and when I asked to switch memberships to the basic $20 one without “gym access” (because the gym is almost always being used by these private trainers who rent it out) I was told it would be for an additional year AND I would have to pay the $50 new member fee again. They make it very difficult to cancel or change memberships. When it rains, the fitness area roof leaks badly to the point where there are multiple buckets on the floor and benches/machines are still getting wet.Otherwise a very decent gym: clean gear, well ventilated. Pretty busy but rarely to the point that you’ll have to wait longer than 10 minutes for a given piece of equipment. Gear is usually fully functional. Recently added a 3rd squat rack which is a plus.

2022-06-13Bunch of crooks. First, they doubled the rates on the college kids in Albany then when you try and cancel, they wait 2 weeks before they send confirmation email stating you have cancelled so they can get an extra $21.99 from these poor college kids. Absolutely pathetic manager Rob who gets off overcharging these kids. The gym itself isnt worth $10 a month let alone $21.99. I will be filing a formal complaint with the better business bureau about their billing practices and how they have probably been doing this to numerous college students and its time they dont get away with it anymore!!!!

2022-05-18Its a very nice gym. Sometimes the WiFi can be spotty, but I like it. The locker room is clean and its in a very convenient location. The management was super nice and worked with me when I had a billing issue.

2022-05-29Awesome place, they have a basket ball court, and a pool. The monthly membership is a very fair price, compared to anything else you might join. They also have a rock climbing wall.

2022-04-23Gym is a little overcrowded but all and all not bad. The reason for the rating is because I cancelled my membership two weeks ago and just got a monthly charge. Will be disputing it and if it continues Ill go to the BBB.

2022-04-19It is very hard to canceled your membership. I can’t canceled my membership than I changed my credit card. They can’t charge me anything now. I am happy to be saved . This is the only way to cancellation your membership.

2022-01-07Mask mandate is not being enforced in the Gym. Not sure why Management is not monitoring. Many members have mask on their chin or below their nose.. also Gym is not being cleaned as it used to .. disinfectant wipes replaced with cheap cleaning spray and hand sanitizing stations removed. Other Local gyms do not tolerate this, nether should Vent Guilderland

2022-03-26I have been a member here . The gym is good but other than that the internet Wi-Fi and customer service is not good at all. The Wi-Fi doesn’t connect at all and when we ask customer service they have no clue at all

2021-11-01Clean gym with a very reasonably priced one month pass. Rob at the front desk(maybe manager?) is an outstanding individual who is a prime example of superb consumer-brand relations.

2021-01-29Good luck canceling your membership. I called to cancel and for some reason the person who should be able to handle a small amount of customer service that answers the phone can’t help you with cancelling besides referring you to a website. I go to the website and of course there’s a mile long questionnaire. Filled it out and then it says someone will get back to me about canceling. No one ever got back to me so now my card has been charged twice since cancelling and I have to have my bank block charges from vent fitness. I cancelled 4 gym memberships while moving to Florida. This place gave me the hardest time by far. They can keep the $60 and the review.Gyms decent. Had to skip cable workouts a lot because it’s packed and there’s a line even later at night. Liked the jukebox though.
