This has been my gym since 2012 and I like the staff, the trainers, the equipment. I have even recently filled out the application on their website to be an ambassador for their brand. I tell people about the gym all the time. My only and biggest complaint with the gym is the LACK OF AVAILABILITY of the EV Charging Station at times. Some gym members choose to park on the right side of the building, leading up to the EV chargepoint station. If there are cars in the way, people like me who have a PLUG-IN car cannot get to the plug to charge their car. Usually I go in and ask the staff to find out whose car it is and then they will move it. However last night at 6 pm, I moved the cable over the hood of the big truck that was in the way of the EV station and then the owner of the truck came out, unplugged my car and threatened me because I plugged it across his vehicle. If he had not parked in FRONT of the EV station, I would not have had to pull the cable across his truck. I do not like being THREATENED by big men at the gym who drive BIG TRUCKS who tell the EV car owner, I CAN PARK ANYWHERE I WANT. IVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR 12 YEARS. NOBODY CAN TELL ME WHAT TO DO. Great attitude. I think I will be changing gyms VERY SOON, as this man is very scary and thought NOTHING WRONG of yelling in the face repeatedly, inches away from a 50 year old womans face, that she better MOVE THAT CABLE OFF HIS TRUCK, or he would CALL THE POLICE. Fine, call them. Dont park your gas hog truck IN FRONT of an EV station. Yes, BIG ANGRY MAN with the WHITE CHEVY TRUCK, I do have a plug in electric car and maybe I do hug trees. And yes, it is YOUR PROBLEM, if you are parked in FRONT of an EV station for NO GOOD REASON, other than to be a …..NICE begets NICE. Try it sometime.
A nice fitness facility. Plenty of options and classes. Not ideal for someone looking for a lifting gym. Equipment does not get replaced timely. Dumbbells have been missing for 5+ months. The hours are set by bankers, not fitness or family minded people. Replace the missing equipment, return to the original hours and it would be a much better experience
Ive belonged to Vent back when it was Golds. Nice gym, friendly staff. The only issue I have been having is when I go to use the pool, its been very busy. You dont know how long you may be waiting if the 3 lanes are being used. I noticed that young swimmers ( kids) have been being trained there. I dont know how kids can be members. Dont have to be at least 16? Not that I mind kids, I love them, but, with only 3 lanes members have longer wait sometimes. How old do you have to be to be a member? Maybe they should consider reservations during peak times just so you know when you can actually get in the pool, or guess how long someone has already been in there, so you can guess when you might get in.
I like this gym, but they keep basic fitness equipment, such as pairs of kettlebells, TRX cables, and free-standing pull-up bars behind a locked door that you have to pay $80 a month to access. To clarify based on management’s response: there are *three* kettlebells available on the gym floor, which means if you want to do anything that requires a kettlebell in each hand or to scale beyond 35lbs, you either pay for the $80 a month membership or you’re out of luck. That is the reason for the rating on this review. There are pull-up bars available to everybody, but they’re all attached to something else and pretty high off the ground, which makes it difficult for me as a woman who is 5’2” and would otherwise rather not be on display/in the middle of a crowd of men when trying to do pull-ups. When I asked the current manager, Kim, what the justification for this was or if access to this area could be made available as an add-on, she ignored me.The other reviews that flag poor customer service and a total preoccupation with maximizing profits by pushing members to buy extras they don’t need but being unresponsive to their concerns are spot-on. It just seems clear that management doesn’t want to eat into their profits whatsoever to make the gym any better than what it is, but also don’t think anyone should complain or ask questions. Luckily for Vent, there aren’t many other comparably priced gyms on the area and this one is closest to where I live.
I give it a 3 because the gym is nice looking but the basketball court got too much rules due to covid, like you cant play no ball unless you practicing by yourself. The minute you start playing with others, staff comes and stop the game. The hours has change since I first joined the gym and now they close earlier now instead of 11pm. Its cool though
This is a great gym to be a member of. The new facility is great and Hopefully will only get better as they finish up the renovations. Hopefully they will update the equipment upstairs as a lot of that needs to be updated but most of it is in working condition and just needs to be maintained. The people who work here are all very friendly and welcoming as are most of the members. There are all sorts of members here families, older, younger, etc. Definitely check it out.
DO NOT JOIN this gym. Dont be fooled by the renovations. What matters is how you are treated. They don’t know first thing about customer service, especially if you are over 50. They lie. They do not ever get back to you when you have an issue with an instructor. They just want you to take extra classes, buy their outfits and their shakes. After 15 yrs starting from Gold’s , I had many negative experiences the last 2 years & was ignored & treated like shxx. I have tried to quit and finally was told by manager Ellie, she cancelled my membership and 2 days later my direct deposit account was debited. You be the judge. Do you want to belong to a gym you are stuck with for life no matter how you are treated?
Great spot to train. Younger crowd and good energy. Gets real busy but overall a nice facility with plenty for the self-driven. Wish the gyms in Western MA were comparable. Awesome time visiting. Has an awesome sauna in the locker room thats almost always dead after 8pm.
Great gym. The recent renovations really made this place amazing. The staff is friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating. I had an issue one time with the person that was watching the children I overheard him say something very unprofessional especially in front of the little ones. That was the only bad experience and I haven’t had one since.
I have been working out with my son now for 3 weeks. It has brought us closer and has made me more conscience of my weight and my well being. He has been teaching me the proper form while conducting the exercises and really pushing me to be better. I also have been learning to use fitness as a coping mechanism instead of junk food. Thank You Vent Fitness for being a place of therapy and unity.
Ive mostly used the cardio equipment, but their machines arent out of order often and everyone seems friendly. It was very easy to sign up and everything seems clean. Ive never felt judged by the employees or other customers and the pricing is great. They have some free weights and plenty of weight machines, but they do get busy before and after work. I think its a great place and its very conveniently located for me. Theres tons of parking so thats never an issue.
So disappointed in the corporate turn this gym has taken. Left a little while ago because I was told Id get kicked out if I continued training my girlfriend there, and that she needs to pay for a trainer to show her how to lift. On top of that there are all of these hidden levels, (2+ etc.) that you need to pay for to access basic features. Many features that came with level 1 in the past now require extra fees, and the admins clearly care more about profit than consumer treatment.
Nice staff, clean gym, and they have lots of equipment. The gym is split in two levels so you can run on level 2 and weightlift on level 1. They have locker rooms, showers, and saunas also available on level 1. Its $10 a day for a one time visit or $60-$70 a month for a membership good for two people.
This was the first gym I went to and started working out. There is a good selection of weights and equipment but it always seemed too bright and shiny to me. It doesnt have that real gritty gym feel. I feel like Rocky when he was training in the hotel ballroom. Music is also trash but who cares because I have headphones. Overall a decent gym with a trash vibe.
I had the most expensive membership they offered and the whole staff treated me with disrespect the whole time I was there , their “customer service “ is ridiculous and they are not considerate of People from other countries. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO BUILD MUSCLE
Open reasonable hours for getting in a workout around almost anyones schedule, and I was very impressed with the knowledge and dedication of the trainers I met. Unfortunately, try to get any help in terma of customer service and you WILL be disappointed. The membership department uses fine print and omissions of truth to force you to keep paying long after you cant use the gym anymore, for any reason. Worse, if you choose a heavily pressured personal training plan, youll pay that too, even after you have notified them in writing that you have revoked their right to debit your account. So there it is, I cant recommend a company who in this day and age of businesses tripping over themselves to provide excellent customer service, would not even so much as acknowledge a cancellation request, let alone honor it. Id give my money to the honest gym any day, and given the facilities are forever being upgraded, its not even close to the best maintained gyms Ive used. Oh well.
I love every single les mills class they offer. All of the trainers are kind pleasant cheerful encouraging motivating and friendly. Im glad i joined. Most staff are very friendly. I go 3-5 ays a week. As of april 2019 its in reconstruction/remodeling mode. I look forward to new amenities. Shakes are good too. Wish they would upgrade tanning bed area. Kids area is good too. Very friendly.
This is really a great place. The minimum package is only $10/mo, and you get access to all the equipment. Careful though because you can easily pay upwards of $300+/mo with extra addons.Just be VERY VERY careful to read the fine print when you sign up for a membership. Its like $70 cancellation fee, $30 fee if the charge bounces (like if you change credit cards), and they will auto-renew your membership without notifying you.
Friendly kind encouraging staff, lots of cardio machines, never had a problem getting weights or using a machine I want to at least at times Ive gone there. Staff has been nice to give me the last cup of coffee right before they were about to toss it. The shakes are ok tasting, no whole foods though so not great for the price, I suspect they all contain more sugar than is suitable for a trimming diet
Over all a great gym. Loses a star for terrible hours. The gym closes at 8pm Friday and 6 on weekends! It’s not the 20th century, people work Saturday and Sunday. You basically are forced to go down the street to abc. Also another star is taken due to the unbearably loud music. 90% of everyone at the gym has headphones. Many people have complained about it, nothing has changed. I hate that I have to compete just to hear my own music. Like I said, over all great gym. Just lower the music and extend the hours.

2022-04-10Vent is always clean and plenty of equipment, not usually much or any wait for what you need. They have a variety of weight equipment on the floor including free weights from 10 to 120 pounds, also cables, at least 8 in one area and more targeted ones in the back. They also have a private room In the back for level e3 members with trx straps and free weights, barbells, etc. Never bored at vent . Smoothies are good aftr workout and they have tanning sauna steam room, a pool, massage beds. Great gym! I owe this place my life really!

2022-03-12Was over charged and was signed up with the wrong membership. Staff did a wonderful job making things right and helping me fix the issue. The gym is very clean and has a lot of variety in equipment. Feels like home away from home.

2022-03-05They charge $25 for a day pass. $35 for a week, and $50 for a month. Complete robbery. Make that make sense. Go to ABC, much better value for your money. Planet Fitness is the worst gym I’ve ever been to and I now hold it above Vent Fitness.

2022-04-12Do NOT pay for pool and court access membership. It’s never available and they rent it out to others when you’re already paying for it. Vent is corporate greed. Youre better off at ABC which is 5 minutes away and is family owned

2022-04-05Great staff and facility, but would really appreciate it if they got a couple more benches in the locker room, 2 per area isnt enough. Also the latches for the doors dont always line up, would be great if they did so we can lock up. Also, people shouldnt use a big locker to hang on small item. Put it in a small box. Dont be inconsiderate.

2021-10-20Very clean gym. Excellent selection of equipment, both free weights and cardio machines. Theres even a pool. (good luck finding a time where the 3 lanes arent occupied, though!) Staff is friendly, and I cant complain about the tanning services and stuff that they offer as well. That being said, I do have a couple complaints, and this gym isnt the most flexible when it comes to your schedule compared to other gyms in the local area. Vent is open 5-11 M-F, and 7a-5pm on weekends. The hours are very limited when compared to something like ABC or Planet Fitness. The price itself is fair enough, with plans starting at $20/month. The tier system they use is a little strange, but I dont need anything above the basic level. There are plenty of dumbbells, benches, squat racks, cable machines, and Cross-Fit areas for everyone to use, even at the basic level. Thats good stuff. But my schedule doesnt allow me to stay past 6am on weekdays, so I could only get around a 50 minute workout in each morning, making it very rushed. Afternoons at Vent are absolutely PACKED with college gym-bros and every type of person imaginable, so prepare to stand in line to wait for the machine you want if you come in the afternoon!Anyway, I chose to leave for ABC because the hours there are going back to 24 next week. But basically Vent is still a REALLY good deal when it comes to overall space, and quality of equipment. I would recommend it to anyone who can find time in their schedule to workout from 5am to 11pm!

2021-12-08The Latham vent gives you zero opportunity to use the basketball courts, you try and go after work, nope volleyball. You try and go on the weekends, nope grind time basketball. They charge an absurd amount of money for the extras each month that you can’t use most of the time and the hours for the court they posted on the wall are the farthest thing from accurate.
