Verizon in other cities:
Awful customer service just received 2 flip phones for my elderly aunt and uncle. Not only was on hold for 45 min. The majority of there stores are closed and they only offer curbside pick up. When I told them I just needed data transfers from the old phones to the new one. He proceeded to tell me that only the tech department handle those request so on hold again for 20 minutes where the tech told me there not doing that service. There for I have to go to a cellular retailer and pay $25 per phone. Where is the customer service? Worse cell company ever. Thank God I don’t use them!!!!
The salesperson who was supposed to help me was extremely rude and uninterested. When I walked into the store, she didnt greet me or anything. I told her I was interested in buying one of the iphone 12s. She started walking away from me towards the back, so I was like umm should I come with you. She snarkily said yeah. Then she just went and stood next to the phones silently. No description about the various phones, features etc. I asked her about the differences in cameras, she just said, well this one takes better pics. I asked about the camera features, resolution, night mode etc. She was like I Just said the pro takes better pics, so its camera is better. Like thanks, that was helpful. I asked her about price, she said its 800 and up, I asked her clarify what the different prices were, again she was like it begins at 800. So I didnt bother to ask her to clarify again. Then I told her I wanted the iphone 12. She just walked away towards the back without, came back and then said well we dont have any, you can order it online on the myverizon app, and I can tell you how. I took a few minutes to log in to the app because I didnt remember my password. She asked me impatiently, are you still trying to get into the app. I was like yeah. Then I just told her Ill figure it out on my own, because you dont seem interested in helping and you;ve been rude since Ive come in. Instead of apologizing and asking what went wrong like someone who cares about helping customers, she just shrugged her shoulders and said well I dont know how but okay, and then walked away. Never going back to that store again. In fact, I went to the store at grand central right after and was helped by a lovely saleswoman .
Reviews speak for themselves for this store. I spoke to an employee and the manager and they almost laughed at me for asking to return a phone that was slightly over the return period. Here is a tip for ya - when a business customer since 2005 with 100+ lines comes in and asks for help to cover something that may cost a few hundred bucks AT MOST to the store, you take that to keep the business of someone that pays $10,000+ a MONTH. Management is pathetic to not want to help AT ALL. Youre a team and should work as one.Online reps gladly helped me to fix something that is so small compared to the big picture. Verizon as a company needs to check on these stores for quality assurance in customer support.
I went here asking for help to undelete a text and to get a new phone because my time was up to upgrade from the S8. I have cloud service. I was told it was impossible once deleted. I am going to get one from Amazon or Best Buy today and make planes to switch to google for phone service. However, regarding the new phone I was ignored. I literally walked into the store was blankly stared at by a guy, who I wondered if he worked there. I looked at his chest and saw a Verizon name tag. What is going on this store?
I had the same conversation with the manager as one of the people below. “His exact words were “if you have a plan for backing up your phone without enough space, by all means get the smaller one”.” Word for word- I guess he uses this tactic with everyone. I will never come to this store again and if the service wasn’t so good in New York I would drop Verizon for good.
Wanted to upgrade phone. Get annoying standard upselling of things i dont want (ipad, apple watch). Ask for 64gb iphone XR. Told that the 64gb are in the vault and would take 10-15 mins to retrieve. Of course. I ask for 128gb. Good upgrade for the price anyway. Rep gets 128gb phone. Then brings out cases and screen protector. Great, I want those. Almost done. Screen protector isnt scanning into the system. Rep says manager will have to look at it. Wait. Wait. Wait. Rep says many employees hanging out in back not doing anything. Nice of him to be honest I suppose. Still no manager. In the meantime, the rep wont help anyway else in the store because hes in the middle of another customers order. Thats true but its only him and maybe one other person actually helping people in a crowded store. Well it was true, now hes not helping anyone. For a longggg time as we wait for the manager. Good for me I guess but bad for anyone else trying to get help. Manager finally comes out (no apology for the wait). Another 5 minutes go by and told that its just not gonna happen today and come back tomorrow. Two stars because at least the rep was friendly.
This store honestly made me want to consider leaving Verizon. I ordered my new phone on Verizons website and because I didnt really want to wait, I selected in-store pickup. As soon as I received my notification that my new phone was ready, I went to the store expecting them to simply hand me my new product exactly as I would have receive it had I ordered it with shipping, the same way as other store like best buy do. Instead, I was told I had to wait for the next employee to become available. Despite the store being almost entirely empty, the wait was at least 20 minutes. When an employee came at last to assist me, I presented my ID and credit card, signed as instructed, and then waited for WAY too long as she set up the phone. I have no idea if it was the woman who took forever, Verizons system, or the process is just too long, but I do know that many times I have done this through shipping and it went WAY faster.OK now heres the hilarious part: we ended up having to leave the store to complete the set up because - wait for it - the store didnt have any Verizon signal in it or WiFi! A Verizon store didnt have signal!!! Can you believe that???In conclusion, this store can use a LOT of improvements!
The customer service is really bad . I bought a top up for my phone and The person she said that the top up was assigned to a different customer and I lost 50$ . When I asked can I get a refund she said no . I asked why she said because you just can’t . She also said that it says on the bill but I never got the bill so I am never going to use Verizon so yeah don’t come here. The only good thing is there is WiFi
This is actually the best Verizon store ever. I have used Verizon for a while and like the cell service. Usually the customer experience is meh. It leaves a lot to be desired, usually. But not at this store! Especially Mike Moishe was one of the most competent fast and honest Verizon employees ever. So thank you this location for saving my memories of previous long waits and misinformation. Great job.
Awesome store with very helpful staff, very honest and knowledgeable about their products and services. Went out of their way to treat me like an old customer even though I am a new one and overall the Team is great. Kudos to Stalin the ASM, they really know how to provide good service which is almost impossible to find these days. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ easily.
The manager Vin was also very condescending to me and others people in the store. Don’t fall for him trying to mansplain why you need more than a 64 gig iPhone when you’re only using 25 gigs on your current iPhone. His exact words were “if you have a plan for backing up your phone without enough space, by all means get the smaller one”. K dude. I’m doing just fine.
The employees at this location stole my credit card number and made $844.47 in fraudulent charges at Saks, Finish Line (?), and what sounded like a very disgusting store thats not appropriate to post here. When I called to confront the store, they said it couldnt possibly be them and then told me to go to hell and hung up on me. RUDE! I called customer service for Verizon as a whole and have reported this store and its employees. It is unacceptable that I provided my credit card information to make a purchase at this store and its employees then stole that information to go on a shopping spree. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with credit card fraud perpetrated by these hoodlums and NEVER set foot in this miserable location.
I showed up with my 13 months old on a stroller. They don’t have away to open the door for mothers with strollers. I was waiving to both sales agents(women) standing at their desks not attending to any clients and looking at me struggling to open the heavy door and push the stroller. They didn’t care. A young man bypassing helped me by opening the door. When I got it they gave me an attitude! Shame on Verizon stores for not being kids friendly. The sales person was so unhelpful, I decided to go back to my old store on 55th and 1st to get the phone.I went to this store because last time I was there I had a young man helped me with a charger purchase and he was super friendly and knew his stuff.
The wait time is atrocious. I saw more than 7 workers throughout the store but 2 people are actually helping while the other 5 boondoggle around. The lack of efficiency at this location led to an average wait time of 45 minutes even though there were 5 customers total. When I was helped, the rep was extremely brusque and curt for no apparent reason other than the fact that it was near closing time. However, that really cant be helped since I came in more than an hour before to ensure I wouldnt snag up closing but had to wait a ridiculous amount of time before being helped due to the workers ineptitude.
Avoid this store! I have a verizon fios and i went to this store to transfer my connection to my new apartment. The manager is very rude and said that i need to get a new wireless cellular connection from this store and only then he will assist me. I got a Spectrum and it’s much better. Verizon staff doesn’t care after making the sale.
Unfortunately, one of the rudest and most unfriendly customer services experiences that I’ve experienced. The manager was condescending to me. I was planning to stay with Verizon, but will be switching to a more service-oriented provider.Too bad, because the coverage in New York City is very good.
I was about to jump ship on Verizon after 12 faithful years. I recently purchased an unlocked phone and could not get it activated after 4 trips to my neighborhood store, 6+ calls to customer service, and multiple chat sessions. I went to this store after my girlfriend had a good experience there. I met with Luis who was incredibly helpful. This is now mynstore of choice. Whatever he gets paid, its not enough.
I ordered iPhones online from Verizon and received the wrong models. Went in to exchange the phones as instructed by Verizon customer service. Verizon customer service said because it was their error there would be no charge. The manager at this store (981 3rd Ave) was rude and condescending. Tried to tell me that I was at fault for the wrong order. I ended up walking out of the store and speaking to customer service on the phone again to send me a replacement.Stay away from this store. Read reviews below. They all say the same thing - rude, disrespectful, unhelpful staff all the way up to the general manager.
The general manager was condescending and unhelpful to an extent that edged toward absurdity. I pity employees more than customers as they must endure it daily. UPDATE: Wow. I just read the other reviews and the general manager (forgetting by his name has a V and two Ls) at the counter seems to be the commonality of so many bad experiences. Why is he still employed there?
Rude and pushy douche behind the counter with dreadlocks who thinks hes the Wolf of Wall street when it comes to cell phone sales. Lmfao. Came to check on my contract and upgrade eligibility and left wanting to switch my family plan to another provider after being with the company for 20 years. Dude was texting the entire time he was talking to me. What a fkn joke.
Why Verizon has an store, where nobody is willing to help you to set up your phone or resolve any other issue with it. If you ask anything they state that we can do it because of Covid-19 ...Interesting because none of the employees in this store are using a mask or keep distance. That mean COVID is OVER for them!!!!!!If the company does not want to have people who help you with your phone, they should safe money and use the store as an exhibition center, instead to have people who are not productive for Verizons Customer.

2022-01-18UPDATED: please contact me regarding the incorrect/duplicate charges on my account. I am hoping that customer service regarding this error is handled fully and quickly. Many thanks to the entire team that was working today when I came in to purchase a watch. They were all so helpful and friendly! I worked with Jeff for the purchase and he was amazing. He not only helped me with my purchase, he helped me to sync my work & personal phones as well. 2021-12-22Staff named Prince has a pleasing personality. The moment I entered the store he asked me if I need assistance. Getting the tablet was a breeze, it took me less than 15 minutes to get everything I need. He is also concerned about my safety. He said Dont use the paper bag of Verizon because people outside will think you bought something expensive and that will be dangerous for you. It is nice to encounter people like him who really value you as a customer.

2021-01-30I came here to pick up a new iPhone for an online order I placed. They limit the number of people in the store due to covid reasons. A worker came to the door and helped me out there. I had to update my account information in order to pick up my phone which took 5-10 minutes, but even so he was super polite and patient, waiting by the door and also outside with a mask and jacket. Friendly and quick service!

2021-02-20Amazing and clean store. There store limits the amount of customers inside due to COVID, which I appreciate, this made me feel safe. I placed an order for in store pick up and the transaction was seamless. The rep was friendly and handed me a sheet with clear instructions on how to restore my information.

2021-05-06The staff in this location are amazing. Every time I come here they are helpful and fun to speak with. They make the experience easy and fast. I dont understand the bad reviews but everyone have their own reasons and experiences with any store. I but for me they have been amazing and Ive been present when they had some outrageous customers.Geesh the disrespect retail workers have to deal with is intensely sad. I hope Verizon pays for their therapy sessions

2021-05-02Absolutely one of the worst branches that I ever visited. If you are not rush, strongly suggest walking a few more steps more and visiting the branch located at 1218 2nd Ave and looking for Daniel for services. In short, this branch on Lex never considers the best interest of customers, such as what the max amount of money client can save. Staff just wants to get the thing done fast. We went there second time at 5pm (per below experience in details); on the door it says store closed at 6pm, but store was already closed with lights off. God blessed we had this chance to visit the other one located at 1218 2nd and realized what top-tier customer service truly is. When we passed by this store on Lex later at 6pm same day, the second layer of the door was then put down - so officially closed now :)My experience -My wife and I had an iPhone 8+ and 8, respectively. We were considering to switching to iPhone 12. In the first week, we went to this store on Lex. Store was completely empty with a couple of staff standing there doing nothing. We were the only customers. Based on our current unlimited plan, my wifes phone can have a trade-in value of ~$570. Not bad, so my wife decided to switch and I wanted to wait for later bc I only use phone to text. One African-American female staff (tall with shining nails)) was actually pretty cool, helped us complete the switch quickly over my Verizon app, telling us that a box would be mailed over to our home later so all we need to do was to mail back the old phone; we can actually complete this switch at home - making us feel we shouldnt come to a branch at all.Second week, after seeing the full upgraded iPhone 12 Max, I decided to made the switch as well. Fortunately the store on Lex was closed early, then we went to the store on the 2nd Ave. Long story short, Daniel asked our current plan, patiently compare our unlimited plan to the premium unlimited plan by paying a few bucks more every month (which can let my old phone has ~$700 trade-in value vs. $570 under current plan, has 5G Internet - ultra faster in our experience afterwards, and additional subscription to Hulu, ESPN and Disney+). After we made the decision (no brain decision, ofc premium unlimited plan), Daniel also helped me set up the phone completely therefore I realized that there is no such thing called waiting to receive a. box and mail the old phone back if I visit a good branch. English is my second language; Daniel also explained to me twice on some concepts/terms.In one word, there is definitely a reason for Verizon to have physical branches there to support customers. However, whether you will pick the right one actually need a bit luck.

2020-12-13I just left there. The worker didn’t listen to me at all. He didn’t even understand what my problem was it felt like he didn’t care either. I have been getting the run around with Verizon on the phone, and even in person for two weeks. I was directed to this store being it’s a “corporate” store. No help at all. I see why they got all the 1 star reviews. I guess I’ll never know how to get my phone or fix what’s happening with my account. I should just cancel Verizon altogether.

2021-02-20Staff is unhelpful and don’t even know Verizon protocols for selling equipment. I was told I couldn’t buy an iPhone 11 at the store because I and a legacy Verizon plan. Which was complete misinformation. Have been to this store a few times and every single employee is inept. unbelievable!! VERIZON! Save yourself some money and SHUT DOWN your brick and mortar stores. Completely useless
