A favorite park, nice trails for wooded walks or a sunny stroll through the fields. Good for families. Benches and bridges/walkways scattered throughout. Wear sneakers and bring bug spray. One of our dog’s favorite walks.

Good trails though sometimes a bit confusing. But there was a story walk to follow so that helped. Wide trails & nice trees. Parking lot was Almost empty when we went, winter day .

This is a large recreational complex, situated behind the Elk Lodge of Clifton Park on a dirt road, that includes ball fields and an unpaved set of hiking trails. I hiked most of the trails in January 2019 and had a great time! The short, loop trail is just ok, with muddy, uninspired short segments that are confusing and poorly marked. The one lovely bright spot is the Mooney Carrese Forrest trail (well-marked with yellow/green plastic arrows) that leads southwest for almost a mile. Its a beautiful, wide, flat trail that leads through old growth forests and shallow pools that are icy and gorgeous in winter. Its well worth the trip out here, perfect for children who want a taste of wilderness or for calm strolls with a friend. There are a few muddy areas but they are covered with plywood bridges. There is no water or restrooms. There is a large covered pavilion with picnic benches and a grill. There is plenty of parking.
