I foster kittens and 2 of my kittens fell sick after getting neutered. They had a temperature and were lethargic. The cause of this was unknown. They were treated by Dr. Jacobson who was amazing and treated them with such care. There was a nurse there(i’m so sorry but i don’t remember her name… i really wish i did so i can thank her) but sh was latina and has a black cat? Anyways… omg she was incredible!! My boys weren’t eating so she gave them Churus and they are OBSESSED now. She even gave us some to take home! She was super accommodating. An overall sweetheart. Now i never write reviews but I felled compelled to give her a shout out. This whole entire experience as stressing as it was was filled with such positive and energetic personalities. Thank you so much for treating Ringo and Loki!! Oh and we are now closer than ever after our visit to VEG so thank you thank you thank you!!! (follow our IG to see how wonderful the kittens are doing! @The5KittensFosters)
Wow! Just WOW! This has been our best vet experience BY FAR! My best bud was having some weird ear pain/itch for two days when we finally decided to bring him into VEG and we have no regrets! From the front desk to all the staff we interacted with, everyone was amazing. Dr. Nuwer was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable, explaining the ear infection and antibiotic to us. Minette was an absolute angel, being extremely gentle and caring while cleaning all the gunk from my little dudes ear. And Samantha went above and beyond to make us feel at home and although she loves to talk, you can really tell she cares. My dog was back to his old self in a matter of hours and we couldnt be happier!
Had a very good experience there last night when my puppy got scratched in the eye by my cat. i was very stressed out but everyone there was very lovely and took wonderful care of my baby. Dr. Chapman was great and checking her up and figuring out what she needed while explaining everything to me and making sure i had all the answers to my questions.the facility is all super clean, they even had a coffee cart with tea and treats as well which is nice cause there’s usually a lot of waiting at these kind of places. our wait wasn’t too long since it wasn’t very busy at that time.it was a lovely experience and went home happy and relieved
My dog was saved by this emergency clinic in Williamsburg VEG the other day. When my puppy of 10 months old swallowed my underwear so I panicked. Took her to VEG Williamsburg immediately and I am glad that I did that. Because the doctors and technicians efficiently treated my dog right away with calm and consistent care, we only stayed there for about 30 minutes total. The clinic was fully staffed even tho it was after midnight. My dog was able to easily puke out the fabric she swallowed with the dinner she ate before because of the infusion. Thank you so much for your generous care and the treatment, Dr. Perry, Kat, Matt, Clarra, and Melissa!
I love this place and all their staff, vet techs, vets , receptionist’s were super helpful and professional when i was freaking out. I brought my puppy Ava Grace in a few weeks ago on a friday night, I’m a nurse & of course thought the worse when she was not acting right, suddenly unsteady & having a hard time walking within an hour of coming in from a walk ..i saw her trying to eat a “cigarette buutt” ( we in williamsburg, yo i should’ve known) the wind kept blowing it back & she’d pick it up & i’d get it out of her mouth.Didn’t realize & connect the situation until she vomited alittle & i smelled weed but, again..we live in the burg. I went in freaking out, (totally) the staff put me in a private area & helped me with the paperwork bc i was shaking & am not well since covid 2 years ago. Anyway Dr. Madill & all the staff were amazing.Diagnosed asap & gave me instructions & helped me calm down.I just spoke to Bree again tonight bc i referred 2 neighbors there & they were both so happy & relieved to have this great 24/7 ER right here. Thank you again from Ava Grace & her nervous nurse mommy.Victoria
I visited VEG Williamsburg on a Sunday after my vet clinic contacted me about some unusual blood values in my puppy’s workup. We saw Dr. Pardo and a fantastic team of nurses and technicians. From the time I arrived through every step of the visit, I felt listened to, was able to ask questions, and never felt that I wasn’t part of the process. After reviewing Winston’s results the team performed a test at no cost to confirm that he was not anemic, and they treated him with such love and care. Had it not been for the 5-boro bike tour, I would have gone to the AMC. I’m so glad the event forced me to go to VEG- it was genuinely the best veterinary ER experience I have ever had. While I hope not to need their services any time soon, VEG Williamsburg is now my ER. Thank you Dr. Pardo and team! I’m so grateful for your expertise and kindness.
I was apprehensive bringing my pet there due to it being in a prime williamsburg location, and seeming like an expensive and probably busy place. However, I can not stress enough how amazing they were. My cat had to be put to sleep (I adopted her at a few months old, knowing she had FelV and it was an unfortunate inevitability), but I wanted to ensure there wasnt anything that could be done, that wouldnt just be extending her suffering. The staff was attentive, compassionate, and overall just so wonderful. They were flexible with me and my budget limitations, and I could not have asked for a better experience having to going through this. Im not the type to want my pets ashes around, but, this memento they presented to me as I was leaving means so much to me. I have already recommended them to friends, and will continue to do so, and will definitely be bringing future furry loved ones to their care.
Can’t stress how amazing everyone is at VEG! I am so glad I found them. Not only did they do everything they possibly could for my sweet little 17 year old chihuahua mix, they made me feel so comforted - always taking the time to explain what was happening, keeping me updated, offering me snacks/water during a super stressful time. My sweet boy gets to rest comfortably at home tonight thanks to the staff at VEG, especially Dr. Jacobson and Dr. Mikulanecz!
We brought our 2 year old cat in as he had a fever, wasn’t eating, and was very sluggish. Dr. Madill and her team immediately checked him out and came up with a treatment plan that involved hospitalization. They explained the blood tests and X-rays they’d done as well as the treatment to be done overnight. We got frequent updates throughout from her and Dr. Ramos, which was very helpful calming our nerves. The staff is beyond friendly, thorough, and extremely compassionate. When we picked our cat up after 24 hours, his fever had gone away from the treatment and they walked us through his meds and any signs to lookout for. I saw how the staff interacted with the animals and they treated them all as their own - full of love. The fact that our baby is acting like himself again is the best feeling. Couldn’t recommend VEG more highly!
This place is absolutely outstanding. Not that I ever want to be at an emergency vet clinic, but when its necessary, this is the place Ill choose. My first time at VEG was late at night when my senior cat started having seizures. All of the clinics in Queens were either closed to not accepting new appointments (emergency appointment? Yeah, I thought it was ridiculous, too). VEG was happy to see her, and treated both my cat and myself with compassion, even graciously accepting videos of her seizures well after midnight after wed paid and left. The communication with my standard vet was swift. My second time at this location was the day of this writing. My other cat, because theyre both genetic nightmares, has FLUTD and is experiencing a flare-up. This is an issue weve had in the past, but visited a different ER. This visit today was not only eminently more pleasant - the staff was caring, they communicated with me before performing procedures, went out of their way to make me and my cat comfortable, and were even willing to transport him about the clinic in the little basket hed taken refuge in - but so much more economical. Nearly a fifth of the price for a more pleasant, cleaner, and more compassionate experience.I really cant recommend this place more if you are in need of emergency vet care.
After my dog got a puncture wound, I brought him over to VEG.Matt, Sierra, and the other tech whose name I didn’t get were all incredibly warm, receptive, and helpful.Dr. Ramos was on call and was wonderful. He quickly and thoroughly assessed and treated the injury, explained how to care for him once home, and his calm demeanor definitely kept my dog at ease.It is very comforting knowing that such great people who provide such great care are here in case of an emergency.Cameron and I thank you all :)
I cant say enough good things about the team who saw my dogs in Williamsburg. I was super worried because I knew my dogs got into the trash, one ate chocolate the other grapes .. but everyone made me feel at ease and showed my babies love even in a high stress (for me moment). Thank you for caring for them like your own.
I cant say enough good things about this veterinary practice. All of the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and caring with my pet. Everything was also extremely fast. We were in an exam room and in front of the vet within minutes of entering the building, even on a busy Friday. We were allowed in the room with our dog, which felt especially nice in an emergency setting. For the quality of the care we received, the price was very reasonable. There are so many untrustworthy emergency vets around, but I cant recommend this location of the Veterinary Emergency Group enough.
Our turtle, Sally, some how pulled the cleaning net into his tank and got it wrapped around his hind leg. My son noticed and was so worried we cut him out but some was wrapped so hi up we couldnt get it off. We found this place on line. 24 hours !!! Everyone. Kat, Nathania, Daisy, and Dr. Ramos were so kind. They held her ( shes a snapper) got the leg out of the shell and gently cut the netting off. They were awesome. My son is sooo happy.
Such a great experience here. So glad that we made a last minute audible to bring our cat to VEG rather than another hospital that a doctor suggested to us. Our cat was told by a doctor’s office that his bladder was blocked and needed an emergency procedure. They told us we had to bring him to an emergency room right away. The other hospital quoted us an exorbitant amount do the procedure and monitor our cat for a few days afterwards. Before bringing my cat to that hospital, I asked around and someone suggested VEG. I looked them up online and saw the excellent reviews, and boy I’m glad I listened to them and brought my cat to VEG. The doctor at VEG was able to drain the bladder herself (instead of needing to operate), and suggested inflammation medication before doing an expensive procedure since his bladder wasn’t fully blocked. She was honest and really cared about our pet. The medication worked and the doctors were literally on call at all times to assist with any questions. They always came to the phone immediately. The doctors went above and beyond for us, and I HIGHLY recommended this emergency hospital. The nurses were fantastic also. Trust and sincerity are the most important things you can ask for from doctors, and VEG exceeded all of our expectations.
I called the clinic at 2am and the doctor I spoke to was so kind and reassuring. She suggested I monitor my pup through the night and when I brought her in the next morning everyone I met was so loving, knowledgeable and helpful. Special thank you to Dr. Cha, Sam and Tiffany for all their help! They made my pup feel safe and cared for, and now she is feeling much better. It’s a scary thing when your dog is sick, and the team at VEG helped make my experience as stress free as possible! Thank you!
I have a 5 year old feral cat who needed an emergency appointment. He is NOT easy to care for at all, but this place made it look so easy. They listened to me when I told them that he needed extra care and a sedative. They were nice and able to accommodate. I never leave reviews but I love it here. I would absolutely trust any and every pet here. They even trimmed his nails for me!! And he got the right meds and will be fine. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Also shoutout to Sam who was working that night. She was the best. Such a nice personality.
Our 16 1/2 yo yorkie had a seizure while we were on vacation. We took here right away. These people are so caring and loving. Their response time was immediate. I wasn’t even through the door and 8 people came running I told them I have never seen such quick response even not in a human ER and I am a nurse and husband a doctor. Our sweet Abby was just too old to recover and we had to put her to sleep. It was a difficult decision and the staff there made this a loving experience. We appreciate that so much. I also thought the cost was reasonable. No price gouging here April, 2022
This is hands down, the best emergency vet in Brooklyn. The office was clean and festive. The receptionists are so friendly, both over the phone + in the office. Dr. Kanwar was kind, loving and thorough. I would bring my pets here again - though I hope never need these services in the future.
I cannot say enough good things about these guys. They are so sweet, attentive, knowledgeable, patient, and keep you updated every step of the way. My thanks goes out to the all staff of course, but especially Dr. Jacobson for being so sweet and patient with my cat Beans.Would also like to mention for the degree of care, professionalism and service VEG provides, their services are extremely affordable.Look no further than 87 Kent Ave if your baby needs medical attention. To the staff at VEG, me and my Beans thank you so much! You guys are truly the greatest.
I came to this location with my brother when our dog got into a pretty rough altercation with another dog. We came in around 9 pm on a Wednesday and waited about 2 hours. The space was so lovely, check in was smooth, the staff was warm and accommodating, and our pup made it home in stable condition. They were very thorough about the aftercare and medications needed as well. Thank you to Kat, Melissa, Matt, Minette and Dr. Betancourt for making my family feel safe and welcome with your team, the good conversations, and also the yummy gummy bears :)
We had a great experience at VEG Williamsburg after our puppy ingested something that made him sick. They were quick to check him in and the whole team was so nice and helpful and made us feel supported during our first pet emergency. They presented all options with pricing broken out and said if we opted for at home monitoring we could call with questions through the night as we monitored our puppy at home. Would 100% recommend to anyone!
VEG recently opened in my neighborhood and when our family member got a double pneumonia, VEG’s care was excellent. Their attention to detail, bedside manner and love of animals was apparent the moment we walked in with Buckley our 9 month old pup. After having some bad experiences at Blue Pearl I’ll never go anywhere other than VEG for my pet emergencies. Their 24 hour visiting hours and open plan made it safe and easy to visit my pup during his stay there (approx 48 hours). While not being able to visit they were in touch via text and phone constantly as well, sending updates whenever requested. While i hope to not have to go back for a while, i do know that when/ if I do my pup will have the best care and staff.
My baby Susie was taken cared for at this location by Dr. Becker. She was compassionate and nice to my big baby puppy who wasn’t feeling so good. As well as informative and knowledgeable on her condition, we were sent home with meds after the X-ray results. As I kept my tears together, she assured me that everything will be ok, and it was with continued medication. I also went in in the middle of the night and was greeted by everyone, especially Brianna the assistant, and her attentiveness. She was there with me every step of the way. I felt very supportive and didn’t feel alone not one bit. Me and my pet was treated with absolute vip care. Def my to go to for ER!
The folks at VEG were amazing when our dog was sick. There was never any waiting to see a doctor, the staff all got to know us and our dog over just a few days and they let us hang out with her as much as we wanted. I’ve never been so sure my dog was in good hands while I left her with them, and this was perhaps the best experience with a vet I have ever had.
My cat had to get abdominal surgery to remove a foreign body from his stomach and small intestine. The team at VEG is so compassionate and patient, and they took such wonderful care of my cat. I also loved the open design of the space - you can see everyone working and it feels very much like you can see whats going on. There are private exam rooms too, which we were immediately put in when we arrived. He had to stay for a few nights, and they were always so welcoming and accommodating when I wanted to visit him. They were clear about when doctors changed shifts, and I was able to actually text the doctor for updates and questions. Any time I called I was able to speak to a vet tech or doctor very quickly.Like all emergency vets, they were busy, but clearly cared for and took time for every single patient there, and their human. Emergency vets are always an expensive event, but I can at least feel that I got absolutely excellent care for my kitty. I hope I never have a reason to come back, but if I need to, I’ll be coming here! Better experience than my own primary care vet.
Everyone was so kind and the whole experience was great. I was seen straight away after I checked in. They were able to get to the problem quickly and give me thorough advice and steps to go forward with treatment for my cat. Thank you Williamsburg VEG!Diego loved looking out of the big window while we waited for results.
We were so impressed by VEG Williamsburg when we had to bring our puppy there on Saturday night. From the minute we walked in, every single staff member was so kind, thorough, and friendly, not to mention upbeat, which really made the whole experience so much better than it could have been. The doctor took his time with us, all of the techs/nurses were super nice, everyone answered all of our questions patiently. I highly recommend!
Finding VEG was the silver lining of a less than ideal situation. No one wants a sick pet, but when my cat Gulliver had an unexpected medical emergency at 10pm on a weeknight I rushed him to VEG and they took such wonderful care of him.Below are the top highlights of our experience:Quick care: He went back right away and I was able to stay with him th whole time (with the exception of when they needed to do a catheter and took him to a different room-tbh I probably wouldnt have wanted to see that anyhow).Thorough communication: both the Vet and the techs were really knowledgeable and patient when explaining every test, opinion, and procedure throughout the visit. They were extremely transparent about expected costs and the various options that we had in moving forward with Gullivers care. Ultimately they recommended that Gulliver stayed the night to be monitored and made sure to update me closely once I left.Bedside manner: not only did they do a great job easing my mind and anxieties, but they also did a really wonderful job of putting Gulliver as much as ease as possible. He is a pretty nervous cat and is often skeptical of strangers. However, when I came to pick him up the next day, he clearly was smitten with several of the vet techs! It was so great to see that they had taken such care to not only meet his physical/medical needs, but also to make it emotionally as positive a situation as it could be.Easy information access: after Gullivers visit, they sent both me and our primary vet a thorough breakdown of cost, care, and any additional information that the vet thought was important. This was important to me both to be able to seamlessly communicate to my primary vet what had happened, as well as being able to file a claim with my pet insurance. All in all, in the unfortunate circumstance in which a pet needs emergency care, I would highly recommend VEG. So thankful for everything they did to help Gulliver!
AN UPDATE: we came back for aftercare, as I mentioned. Called ahead. We showed up; they were fully ready for us (literally no wait, room already set up); then they reassured us, fed the dog a charcuterie plate (kept testing cheese and different cold cuts until they found something she’d eat), shampooed her butt, gave us diarrhea medication and puppy pads, and charged us $20.69 for everything. We did spend a bunch of money there just a day prior, but that was for services already rendered. This is just an awesome place. I wish I could find a human doctor for myself that provides this level of care.Original review: If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Brought our very sick dog Sophie here. Their care for animals is exceeded only by their care for the animals’ human families. The staff are tremendously knowledgeable and compassionate, their pricing - while not cheap - is absolutely transparent, the facility itself is the Four Seasons of vet offices, and communication is seamless. When Sophie needed a procedure they couldn’t perform, they transferred us to AMC and took care to call in advance, transfer all files, and notify them we were coming. They provided fantastic aftercare as well. Oh, and most importantly - our dog is better.
This place is the best! Staff cares for you and your pet like family! They are attentive, informative, efficient and helpful! They were fast to get my pup treated and back to safety and comfort. I am forever grateful and will certainly be coming back in an emergency. Thank you team!
I had the opposite experience of all these reviews. I mightve been an outlier but they were horrible, giving me all worst cases scenarios about my pup telling me she wouldnt last 48hours. They were like robots, which I understand people become desensitized, but they had no compassion and made me feel helpless with my dog. After taking her to my neighborhood vet they told me she was going to be perfectly fine and had so much bedside manner. If you have no other choice then this is the place but please do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE.
I highly recommend bringing your pet here should they need the pros. I called the office and immediately spoke to Dr. Fealey for his advice.I brought my dog in 20 minutes later and was met with extremely kind and competent staff who took time to explain things to me and be extremely attentive to my dog Iroh. You can be in the same room as your pet too during examination. It is evident these folks are animal lovers.I was not pressured to agree to vaguely described expensive exploratory tests and was not price gouged either. All in all great compassionate staff, great facility, and peace of mind for a reasonable price.
We have been twice with our dog Stella and had the most amazing experience at VEG. It’s philosophy of keeping humans with their pets, and it’s absolutely top notch doctors, nurses, aides and front desk staff, truly put it above all other pet emergency experiences. In particular, Dr. Fealy, Dr. Betancourt, and Nicole stand out for their wonderful care. But literally everyone, including some superb visiting nurses, were spectacular. I wish my human family got this level of medical care.
Honestly the best vet experience I’ve had. Sam and dr madill were so nice and friendly and I immediately knew my cat was in good, loving hands. My cat needed a tooth pulled and they were super transparent about the cost (which was really reasonable) and exactly what would happen during the procedure, they even let me be present and watch everything they did and explained what they were doing while it was happening. They took such amazing care of me and my cat and provided so much comfort on such a stressful day. I would recommend them to anyone.
Without a doubt the best veterinary experience I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend VEG enough. They are incredibly thorough, kind and got my very sick pup back to full health so quickly. The vets and nurses who work here are miracle workers. They let you be with your animal throughout treatment and explain every step along the way. Thank you VEG team!!
This place opens for 24 hours 7 days a week for real, with full staff, who were all so nice and cheerful even at night! My dog tends to get in trouble either weekends or at night when his regular vet is not open, so I am so grateful we have VEG to go now in the neighborhood! Our first visit last night went so smoothly. Though emergency visit fee was higher than the one in Queens (InstaVet Urgent Care) we went a few months ago, they did not try to sell unnecessary sedation drugs etc, so our bill was much lower than my expectation from the past experiences.Besides, the service is much better than any other emergency vets I visited in the past (my dog is a frequent flyer for emergency vet).I also appreciated 1 parent can go into the exam room with the pet, which to my biggest surprise, some vets and emergency vets still ban in the excuse of Covid (InstaVet did not let me go with my dog and I had to wait in a waiting room). When your pet is in emergency need, last thing you want to do is not to stay by side of your pet, so I was very relieved and happy we could be together in one of their private exam rooms. Their office is brand new and super clean, and is conveniently located in front of dog park, which is a huge plus as well. Visit summery I got had a most personal and friendly message from Dr., which was very nice too. Thank you Dr. Jacobson!
My dog unexpectedly got sick and I was searching around for a good ER place to bring him without a ridiculous wait time. Although I had to travel a bit to get here, the check-in process was seamless and they took me back within a matter of minutes. Not only was the staff super helpful, but the vet was very personable and conversed with me as we waited for blood work. I was so pleased with the quality of care given to my pet and me. Those small things matter as you wait to make sure your pet is okay. Also this place physically is a vibe. It’s in Williamsburg and gives you very Williamsburg aesthetic. It felt good being able to sit in side rooms and review things with the vet instead of a scary waiting room experience. Even though they are a bit far for me, I plan to utilize them moving forward in the event of another emergency or opportunity.
I can’t imagine having a more positive emergency vet experience than I did this evening at the VET location in Williamsburg. The entire team was kind and caring, provided thorough explanation and options for my dogs, and (most importantly) treated my dogs like they were their own. They even brought me snacks while I waited! I will certainly be back if another emergency situation arises, though hopefully not anytime soon :)
VEG is amazing!! I brought my dog to them after she was attacked by two dogs. She was scared and in rough shape and the entire team at VEG was so kind and caring and helped make an awful situation much better. It’s clear how much they care about animals and I’ll be forever grateful that they were the Vet I brought my dog to.
In 30 years of having dogs here in New York City, this was HANDS-DOWN the best emergency vet experience I ever had. As a physician myself, I set a high bar on patient care. While many of the veterinary practices and urgent-care facilities in NYC have let me down in the past, the entire team at VEG made it clear from the get-go that they valued my dog and cared about me, too. They clearly understand that Emergency means just that. They whisked us into the back treatment area within seconds of our arrival and I was still filling out my online registration when theyd already commenced AND completed treatment for my dog. The entire team- from Dr. Perry to Nurse Nicole- showed genuine concern and care and both my dog and I felt like we were in very competent and caring hands. Im SO grateful that we FINALLY have a really skilled, competent and compassionate 24 hour veterinary ER here in Williamsburg. While I hope to never have to use them again (for obvious reasons) Im totally grateful that theyre here if do.
Over the course of 2 months and three emergency visits, the amazing vets and staff at VEG Williamsburg helped us navigate our newly-adopted senior dog’s cancer diagnosis. It came as a total surprise when we rushed him here from Astoria (I really wish there was a good emergency vet in our neighborhood) and spent hours looking for a diagnosis. The vets here caught things that our regular vet didn’t, and unfortunately our dog’s condition was terminal. Thanks to the guidance of Dr. Madill, we were able to make the right choices for his quality of life. Telling pet parents awful news like this cannot be easy, and we were so thankful for Dr. Madill’s empathy and care. She graciously helped us with questions and prescriptions after our visit, and even left us a note when we came in for our final end-of-life visit (which meant SO much to us).We are also incredibly grateful for Dr. Dr Armas, who was able to perform an emergency surgery that gave us another precious month with our boy. And of course, for Dr. Turturro who was with us during our boy’s final moments. All this to say that this emergency vet is the best I have encountered. Not only are the vets top notch with excellent bedside manner, but the vet techs, assistants, and even receptionists are a breath of fresh air. Emergency vet hospitals can be sad, depressing places. VEG does not feel that way. Even during the saddest, most stressful moments, the staff is efficient, helpful, and understanding. They are so good to your pets, and it is clear how much they care.We were lucky that every time we were there, they were not busy (but we called ahead of time each time to check). Their digital registration, payment, and vet record systems are also SUPER helpful — so you don’t have to worry about losing track of invoices or vet records. Makes everything a lot easier when stress is super high.Thank you, VEG for everything. Hopefully we won’t have to be back in a long time.(Also — support your emergency vets! This is the hardest job out there.)
I am so glad I found VEG this weekend - my cat had back pain so we took her in for an exam and x-rays. It’s always a rough time when your pet is in pain, but the staff was so kind, energetic and professional that I was calmed each time they were present in the exam room. Dr. Fealey was wonderful, extremely bright and did thorough work that put me at ease. Every single vet tech was just as wonderful, especially Cory who checked me in and made sure my cat and I were comfortable the whole time. Can’t thank you all enough for making a highly stressful situation that much easier to handle.Update - had another minor GI issue with my cat 2 months later and called the office for advice. Dr. Jacobson couldn’t have been nicer and she put my mind at ease immediately and gave great advice that’s proving successful. Really appreciate that she helped without pressuring us to go visit unnecessarily. Thank you!
I can’t say enough good things about every person that works here. I brought my cat in after she was acting weird like she had maybe eaten something she shouldn’t. The staff was so organized, kind, and diligent. My baby is okay and if anyone is in a panic over their pets health and saftey I would 100% recommend bringing them here.
This place is great. Friendly staff and experienced professionals. Brought my dog Otis here. We were seen by Veronica (hope thats spelled right) and Dr. Jacobson. They were very friendly and explained every procedure. Everyone is kind and make you feel at ease during what is a very stressful situation. Awesome place with dedicated people.
I took my cat here after he got his paws on some Aleve and suffered an acute kidney injury. The staff showed tremendous care for him, communicated clearly with me, and were sensitive to Tommys needs, including keeping him in a quieter room because he was so stressed out. They let me know after 24 hours of treatment and monitoring that Tommy needed more specialized care—at which point they brought him by taxi to AMC in Manhattan, since I was already in that neighborhood. I would go there again in a second.
I can’t praise the doctors and staff here enough. This is my second visit in three days for Rosie, a lost (or dumped) house cat I rescued from the park a few days ago. Dr. Feeley and actually sat on the floor of the reception area to listen to my story and the cat’s ailments. He, extern, Brianna, and the skilled technicians were kind and gentle, we’re not rushed, and kept me informed of the procedures. They treated Rosie as if she were their own. They are doing God’s work.
Thank-you to the VEG team who saved our 16 month old orange Tabby from developing an intestinal blockage after managing to consume a 20 piece of stiff string. The open format medical facility really put my wife and I at ease but Yogi was just a bit busy being totally overwhelmed to notice. The staff treated him with great tenderness and affection. An endoscopy was skillfully performed and Yogi is back where he belongs, with his brother Boo-Boo. We cant thank the VEG team enough for helping Yogi in his time of need. We dont do veterinary emergencies often but when we do, we know where to go for skillful, compassionate care. Thank-you again to the VEG doctors and staff!
My kittie wasnt well, so when I couldnt get an appointment with my vet, I brought him to VEG. They were able to quickly perform the tests necessary for a diagnosis... which wasnt good. I was faced with a very difficult and heartbreaking decision to let him go.The doctor and staff were very caring and gave me all the time I needed to... well, be with my kittie for the last time. It was one of the worst days of my life, but VEG gave me everything I needed to make the right choice. My heart is still broken... I only lost my kittie a little over 2 weeks ago, but thank you VEG for getting me through an extremely difficult time with your skill, patience and caring. RIP my little Reilly.
Where should I start. This is a real review, which is just killing me to write I was not paid or in anyway a friend or family member. I first went to VEG on Kent ave in Brooklyn, NY. The place was more about money than caring for my dog. They are expensive( I would pay anything for him) Its the way Dr. Chapman seemed as if she was in a rush, and the rest of the staff hardly interacted or explained things, not much empathy, the student, residents, MA’s ( not official Dr’s) socialized with one another. I did not feel comfortable an I wasn’t sure with them. As an Psychiatric Nurse myself, beside manner, body language means a lot. You have to listen to understand not just to respond. When it comes to medical you take an oath, you have to love helping an I didn’t feel that here( or maybe they have their favorites, those who spend without more knowledge) I had my dog since he was 6weeks old. I had him for 13 years. He wasn’t a stray or a dog I just received he was my baby. The hospital was not packed because everyone was cleared out except for one patient and myself.Either way, after I left I started searching the internet and found Somewhere else.
Just wanted to stop by and leave a review. So we have a 11 year old boxer mixed with pitbull that suddenly having balance issues & not being alert, we were told he may have some issues with his brain, and a xray is needed. Took us sometime to get him vaccinated and put him back to supplements, due to his age. His issues were not improving so we visited this emergency clinic.1st impressions were smooth, regular checkup and blood pressure.Us knowing him being 11 is old.Saturday night me and my brother pickup his steriod medication and we gave him a 1/2 of Presdnisone sunday, which unfortunately we truly wished we hadnt.Around 8am Monday morning, brown was unresponsive. Around 11am he pasted away 11 hours later.I felt that it wasnt necessary to call or be angry, its no ones fault. Thanks for the help either way.
Best emergency veterinary hospital, although I hope you never *need* to visit. Staff are really kind and youll be able to stay with your pet the whole time and see what theyre doing since the open concept and access is part of the way they do things. Glad to have VEG in Williamsburg!
Tonight we had to make the hardest decision to euthanize our beloved dog. The whole staff at the Veterinary Emergency Group in Williamsburg were so caring and compassionate from the moment we brought him in until the moment we walked out. They made us feel at ease even though we were grieving and understood the severity of the situation at hand. I couldn’t ask for a better team to help during such a hard time. Thank you for all you do.
Best emergency vet I’ve been to. I called after suspecting my cat had eaten some string; Dr. Jacobsen was very patient and calmly urged me to come in. I was seen very quickly, and the care she and the tech (didn’t catch her name) gave my cat was wonderful. The place was clean and well organized. You can tell they really love animals here!
Both of my dogs ingested things they shouldn’t have. I ran them to VEG and was greeted by super professional, calm and loving people! I was highly impressed with all the patience (while I cried and panicked) and care they had not only for my fur babies but also for me. They contacted the manufacturer of the products and did all of the necessary research to get the best care for my pups. They are focused 100% in getting your pets well and home with you as soon as possible! I thought my dogs would have to stay the night, but happily they were able to come home with me ! I HIGHLY recommend this place. I simply loved it and now trust it ❤️
The staff were very welcoming, kindhearted and sympathetic. They treated my dog wonderfully and were very understanding regarding my financial hardship. This place is definitely worth bringing your pet down for an emergency. They care more about the animal than the money.
I brought my dog in the middle of the night for a seizure. On top of that, he’d broken the splint for his broken leg. They were wonderful. They took him right away and went above and beyond. They replaced his splint, checked his leg wound, and rewrapped. They were so compassionate and careful, holding my dog stay still and calm. They answered all my questions about what to do tonight and what to do long term after a second or third seizure. They even gave specific referrals and advice for if it’s safe for him to go under anesthesia. Overall, they were a huge help.
❤Im very thankful to the professional staff for their excellent services provided to my precious pet.💕💕They were so Attentive, Caring, Compassionate and Supported not only to my baby, also to the other pets being treated that night and to us, parents. Thanks so much to all the Staff from VEG, each of you are Guardian Angels to our precious PETS. God bless you always🙏!!!
I am so grateful that this location opened up so close to me. I had a terrible emergency today with my 4yr old shepherd mix. Called them before showing up, they were ready for me as soon as we came in. Not only were they amazing at keeping my dog calm but they knew how to put me at ease too. Everyone is so positive, warm hearted and reassuring. My dog did so well with his treatment and that was because of the entire team. They really put my dog first and I truly appreciate their care. My dog is actually doing so much better and I could not be more grateful for this.
We took our cat in last night because he was vomiting a lot, and were so impressed by the level of care and support, the transparency in explaining exactly what they needed to do, what they thought the issue was, billing explanation, and the kind and gentle treatment of our cat (and us). We were given a private room for several hours so our cat could be out of his crate with us while waiting for next steps, and were supported by 4 staff who all treated us like longtime clients. It was the ideal way to handle patients and families through a stressful medical experience, and definitely much better than the norm (for animal or human patients). We still don’t know what happened to make our cat sick after running tests and X-rays (all done very efficiently), but they provided solutions and advice to alleviate the issues and monitor him, and he’s got his energy back today! We hope not to have reason to bring him back anytime soon - but will absolutely recommend this place to other pet owners. Thank you!
Before coming in, I was able to talk to a vet on the phone in the middle of the night to determine if my cats situation was an emergency. The vet, technician, and staff were all very kind and explained things thoroughly. I was impressed that we were allowed to come with my cat when she was getting an x-ray so that I knew what was going on with her at all times during the visit.
Came around 11:30 pm with our dog, was seen almost right away. Super kind staff all around, in an airy, spacious, & clean space. Our dog was at ease, and even fell asleep in the exam room (not a typical occurrence). They took his vitals and gave him a physical exam—but since we didnt do any further testing or treatment...they didnt charge us!! We were shocked and insanely impressed. Would definitely come back in case of (hopefully not soon) any emergency. Thank you for putting our minds at ease!
I think this is literally where angels work. My poor little Nugget was battling a horrible stomach bug and severe dehydration and I was at a loss, and VEG was so helpful and got him fixed up in no time. They were completely transparent with me through the whole process and were so helpful and caring. Bri, Nicole, and Dr Turturo saved my pup from so much pain and discomfort, I don’t know what I would have done without them!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Recommend 10/10!
I never leave reviews anywhere, but the staff at VEG were just such lovely, engaged people who dealt with me and my slightly insane demon cat (hes lovely once you get to know him) in a way that was so compassionate and patient. They went above and beyond to strike a balance between my pets needs and my financial panic. Thank you so much guys
Brought my sick kitties in for an emergency visit at midnight. The experience was immediately better than any other ER vet service weve tried before. Notably, we were seen right away and placed in a closed room away from the barking dogs. This helped my cats relax; they were able to explore the room without staying confined to a carrier. We absolutely loved the vet, Dr. Jacobson -- she listened to our concerns and took her time examining Poochie & Potato. She explained their blood work and physical exams with us and went through her differential and recommended treatment. She also texted the next day to make sure they were doing better -- and they WERE! She was compassionate and knowledgeable with them. A winning combo. We also loved Cory; he helped keep the babies still during their blood work.Im so happy to have found this place and thrilled its nearby. Hopefully we wont have to visit again soon, but it gives me peace to know that there are friends there if we need to. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I had such a positive experience bringing our pup in for a scary visit. The doctor, nurse, and entire staff were so patient and kind and treated our pup with the love and attention he needed to get better. They were also very kind and understanding given I was pretty upset and nervous. Best experience I’ve had a an emergency vet thus far. I wish they had a primary clinic!
What can I say about this group. All of them are saints and now apart of our family. My old pooch got sick with Pneumonia 3 days ago and Dr. Kanwar and Dr. Madill and the entire team at VEG took care our boy when things were looking grim the first day, they didnt give up on him and gave him all the love and medical attention to let him fight his way back and worked tirelessly to get the big mush back on his feet and humming. The team at VEG made this great miracle story. Thank you guys so much.
I am SO glad VEG is around! I recently moved to the city and dont have a vet yet. Once of my cats had a bit of an emergency and every vet I called couldnt get her in until late next week at the earliest. I brought her to VEG tonight and they got us right in and made her feel so comfortable. Every member of the staff was AMAZING and I am seriously so thankful for them. They sent us off with a care plan and some meds and I feel so much better. I am so glad to know they are there if we need them.
I brought my cat Oliver here for an emergency and they provided the absolute best, impeccable care. He had to have emergency surgery and stay overnight. Communication was excellent. They invited me to stay next to him as long as I felt comfortable, visit when the surgery was over, and texted/called with regular updates. It was expensive, but I was given a full itemized bill prior to treatment so no surprise charges. High level of care for both me and Oliver from Dr Rabener, front desk, and all other staff encountered.
I took our 1.5 yr old pup in yesterday and, considering we were there under less than ideal circumstances, I cannot express how wonderful my experience was. Paulie and I were immediately escorted into a private room and attended to with every precaution. I was very impressed with their bedside manner, walking me through each test they ran on Paulie, not only making sure he was comfortable, but that I was too! Its always scary to have to bring your fur baby in for an emergency but they put my worries right at ease. Dr. B was very knowledgable and the write up I received afterwards was thorough and personalized. You can tell he took the time and effort!
It is about time someone opened a 24-hour Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Williamsburg and I am so glad that its VEG. The staff is amazing - theyre friendly, warm, attentive and they truly love the animals that they treat. The facility is very clean and they also allow you to visit your pet whenever you want for however long you want, which was a huge relief for me to be able to pop-in and see my little guy when he had to stay overnight. Dr. Bentacourt and Dr. Jacobsen are both great, and I am sure the other veterinarians are equally as good who did not see our dog Scout. I would highly recommend this to any pet parents.
I brought my dog in on a Sunday morning and we were taken in in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was all very kind and helpful and they listened. I was able to get tests taken for an ear infection on the spot and was able to leave with medications and a plan. Wonderful! Thank you!
This place is amazing! Fast, honest, kind, give you all the options and clearly love the pets. It’s configured so they work right next to the crates of overnight pets which gave me a lot of comfort when my puppy had to spend the night. Minette, Meghan, Bri, Dr. Mio and Dr. Kanwar were all so sweet and helpful and comforting to both my pup and myself. I love this place!
I took my cat there last night and from the moment I walked in the door I knew I had picked the right place. Everyone has been super helpful and friendly and making sure that I am being updated and taken care of. She will be there for a couple of nights, but I am glad she is getting the help she needs! Dr. B is the best! I definitely recommend taking your sick fur baby to VEG in Williamsburg!
Simply put, VEG is the best emergency veterinary treatment facility I’ve ever experienced. Over a decades now of having dogs, I have been to many, yet never have I encountered a friendlier, more effective staff or a more comforting and effectual environment. It’s an incredible set-up.They get you right in and keep you with your pet while they work in the big open treatment area. You can sit on the floor with your ailing pet as the vets and staff sit next to you, while the team moves like clockwork around you to care for your pet. The vets, nurses, techs and other staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. They work as a team like I’ve rarely seen.No cold receptions, no rude dismissals, or that sense that this is just a business transaction. In fact, VEG will be a refreshing departure from other approaches you may have encountered. Their motto says it all, “helping people and their pets when they need it most.”I’m very grateful to have them here in Williamsburg. Thank you so much again, Drs. Fealey & Madill, Kaitlyn, Devon and the entire VEG Willyb team!
Not much I can say other than: 1. The entire staff helped to make my dog feel comfortable while he was sick. 2. They cured his nausea/vomiting. 3. The vets and technicians followed up a week later to make sure everything was ok. 4. They kept me apprised of everything they were doing or about to do. 5. There was very little wait time.
I can not say enough good things about VEG. I went with my dog Chloe for a true emergency as well as just an eye infection and Drs Ashraf, Kanwar, Jacobson and Bentacourt were phenomenal, caring and brilliant. I’ll never be able to thank them enough! The veterinary world is lucky to have them
I showed up with my dog Sunday late afternoon and was greeted With warmth and compassion they were able to get us in and check on my dog we’re kind and considerate and efficient will definitely be going back hopefully don’t have too many more emergencies in the future
Brought my pet here during an emergency, the staff is on point and very caring for the pets, a bit technical but with so many people checking in on different pets they’re are plenty of people to ask. It’s an open bullpen like concept kind of like an ER station in a hospital this allows you to see your pet and put them more at ease, just a fair warning it can be overwhelming for an owner as well as there’s a lot of things going on. Overall I had an issue that a very nice Doctor reached out and rectified within a day. Would recommend if your pet ever needs a hospital urgently.

2022-04-14VEG has some of the friendliest, most competent staff in the cleanest facility Ive been to in the city. I was able to stay with my cat the entire time. We were fortunate to arrive when Dr. Madill was on the clock and she has been with us every step of the way from first diagnosis to surgery to aftercare. Never expected to receive this level of care and thoughtfulness from a doctor for humans, let alone at a moments notice for my four legged roommate. Cant recommend highly enough.

2022-02-21I absolutely loved this place. Everyone was so thoughtful, caring and extremely nice.My boyfriend and I went in today cause my doggo Treasure had some issues with his left paw and wasn’t able to walk properly. They said there was a wait but didn’t really have to wait that long. There were three main people that helped Treasure including the doctor who flew in for the day from CO were amazing. They made sure Treasure was comfortable and gave him lots of comfort while they were investigating his paw. They also made sure my boyfriend and I were okay when we were seeing Treasure in discomfort. We were worried but we were also grateful that they were doing the best they can to figure out what was going on.Definitely recommend this place if your pet baby ever has any emergency issues.Thank you guys again for everything ❤️

2022-02-18I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am that I chose VEG. My cat fell ill very suddenly with a blockage and they immediately examined him upon walking in. He stayed overnight and I was never worried about the level of care/attention, which says a lot considering I’m a helicopter cat mom! I wound up spending the second day with him in the facility, and the staff was so welcoming and sweet about me taking up space there. Every single worker I encountered was amazing. Put this place’s info on your fridge as a safe space to take your baby if anything happens. THANK YOU VEG from the bottom of my heart!

2022-03-31VEG gave both my cat and myself the best possible experience. I arrived at 2:30AM with my baby boy and they took amazing care of him, and me as well, offering me coffee and a comfy couch to wait on. They provided me with a room to let my cat explore so he wasn’t cooped up in his carrier the whole time. Everyone I was in contact with was extremely caring, gentle, and thorough in their care of my cat and their explanations to me. Very friendly staff, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I wish they did primary care!

2022-03-22Brought my dog here because he ate some chocolate off the street and they had to induce vomiting and give him charcoal. All the staff were so kind and caring even though my dog was freaking out about getting the shot. They were very caring and patient both towards me and my dog, and let me know what was going on at all times. Im really glad I took him here, and I feel great knowing I can always go here if something happens.

2022-04-03VEG is amazing. I brought my dog in for stomach issues, and they saw him right away. They let us stay with him the entire time that he was being examined. The vet was very thorough and caring, she clearly explained treatment options, and answered all of our questions. The facility is very clean and well laid-out, and all of the staff we interacted with were kind, caring, and helpful. Highly recommend.

2022-03-19Brand new husky puppy owner here. I thought he ate a toothpick and called them, Dr Ramos was put on the phone immediately and let me know the course of action which I really appreciated that they took the time to give their opinion before I even came in. I took him in and the whole staff was loving and kind giving him kisses and making both of us feel safe. So grateful to have this safety net in the neighborhood, for as difficult as it is to raise a rambunctious breed in the city I am so so glad VEG is here for emergencies like this! My baby boy was fine and I found the toothpick as soon as I got home. It was expensive but I am glad I played it safe and it didn’t feel like a crazy huge expense (like a human ER) it was proportional to the services provided and they didn’t charge for the X Ray. Thank you to the team!!

2022-03-11I took my cat here for an emergency urinary obstruction, which I had never experienced before and was terrifying. They assessed him upon arrival and quickly put a detailed plan together. They told me clearly what to expect and let me ask questions. EVERYONE working here is amazing at their job — so empathetic, intelligent, experienced. I trusted them immediately and they treated my cat with so much love (even though he was quite mean to them!) I was given regular updates by Dr. Rabener and Dr. Fealey throughout the 48 hours my cat was there.Again, I can’t express how grateful I am for the staff here. I was able to visit 24/7 and they made me feel comfortable every time. It is pricey — they were transparent about this and gave me an itemized estimate and let me ask questions. They really put you and your pet first, and that was worth it to me. I could not have imagined a better place to take my cat. ❤️

2022-01-13I wish they treated people here.Staff was great! Thanks Veronica and Dr. Kanwar.I’ve been a pet owner for decades. I’ve been in several emergency pet situations. This entire staff was so compassionate and friendly. They made my dog feel as safe as possible and me feel as calm as possible. The place was really clean too.Everything was fully explained and questions answered. The price was fair, and I was not pressured into any unnecessary procedures or tests— this is huge for me! They’re an emergency vet, its expensive but I knew that going in. They also charged me $500 less than the urgent care vet in my neighborhood quoted me. At urgent care, if something was wrong I would have to go to the emergency vet anyway.

2022-03-29I was blown away by this team. My senior dog received amazing care and love from every staff member there! Dr. Madill sat down on the floor with my dog and explained everything to me and what (and why) she felt would be the best action plan. This also included an itemized list of the cost for everything. They also didnt separate my anxious girl and I, and allowed her to have a space to be comfortable. If I could see this team as my regular veterinary care for my pets, I would. Hopefully I dont have another pet emergency, but if I do I will absolutely return to this facility.
