Veterinary Emergency Group in other cities:
The folks at VEG took care of our dog after an emergency which required our dog going under anesthesia. They went above and beyond to make sure that our dog (and ourselves) were comfortable the entire time. It was a busy night so we had to wait a little while before they could put our dog under anesthesia to treat him — our dog could not be around other dogs due to his injury, and they provided us with a private room to wait in (something unheard of, or at least very rare in my experience for NYC).Before making any major decisions, they took the time to make sure they knew our dog’s history and gave us options all along the way. The staff was patient and informative, really taking the time to explain what each decision would mean long term & providing the cost of each action before proceeding. While we were so worried for our dog, they made us feel at home & at ease; the staff is an incredibly kind and trustworthy crew.Special shout-out to Dr. Reilly and Tech Chrissy, who are exceptional at their jobs. On top of all of the above (which is already more than you can hope for in a vet), you could really feel their passion for their job & love of animals. Even as our dog was stubborn to leave his cozy blanket after recovering from the anesthesia, they doted on him & went the extra mile to alleviate any anxieties. If we ever experience another pet emergency, we will not hesitate to return to VEG.
I’ve been here 2x within a two week period with two different sick dogs. They are so welcoming! I love this place. They really take care of the animals. The staff are the best from treating the pets to interacting with families . It’s quick and easy here. The waiting area and main reception is nice and clean. They helped my family during a stressful time . We brought the dogs in and they were quickly assessed and processed. I watched from a far while they called a stat code and how it felt like I was in an E.R . Everyone quickly rushed and did so great. I left thinking how they provide exceptional high end care for your furry family members even while your not around. I trust them! I would most definitely recommend them!
I was very impressed by the care my dog received at VEG. While no pet parent wants to have a late night visit to the ER, my experience at the hospital was a very positive one.Everyone on the staff was extremely helpful, kind, and patient. I never felt rushed during our time there, and the team kept me fully updated every step of the way (I didn’t have to hound them for the latest about what was going on). I was especially appreciative of Dr. Reilly, who took the time to answer all of my numerous questions.
My buildings cat was experiencing an eye problem and we were happy to have this clinic in the neighborhood which allowed walk-in visits. Cookie was given a very caring and complete examination. I very much appreciated the honest assessment of her condition and the recommendation of the vet, Dr. Reilly. The whole staff seemed very compassionate and dealt with the many varied needs of the animals in their care with efficiency and grace.
My dog has never been to an emergency vet or had much interaction with other dogs so he was super anxious and whining/barking a lot but the team never once get impatient or upset. They were so compassionate and funny it helped to relieve my nerves as well. They are truly amazing, great listeners, and very attentive to details. They also did a great job explaining absolutely everything to us. Definitely recommend!!
I had to take my usually cheerful, friendly 12-year old chihuahua Alice in at 2am, not knowing what was wrong with her, only that she was wobbly and seemed generally out of it. I was so frightened but every staff member at VEG was so kind and the vibe of the place put us more at ease. It’s a clean and welcoming environment. Plus the location is ideal if youre rushing by car, as it’s right off the FDR.Right away they took her vitals, offered us drinks and snacks and gave us an idea of how long it would be for Dr. Schliselberg to see us. As other reviewers have mentioned, the other patients waiting also seemed pretty calm, which made the atmosphere even more comforting. It wasn’t much of a wait, which could be attributed to the time of night, but regardless we just felt like every attention was offered to us. My lil baby was pretty anxious but she just melted into the arms of the gentleman (so sorry I never got his name) who took her to the back for some tests and held her while she got her subcutaneous fluids from another wonderful compassionate woman (I apologize for not getting her name either). Dr. Schliselberg took her time explaining all the possibilities of what may have been the root cause of her symptoms and an estimate range of the cost of treatment—everyone knows vets are expensive, but I felt that the price was more than fair especially considering it’s an emergency facility. They deserve every penny for the work they do.Anyway—long story short, Alice got the best care, she is doing great, and Rebecca even called the next day to check in with us. I just wish I could take Alice here for regular vet checkups etc, but they are for animals in crisis only and that’s a blessing for the city. Thank you VEG, we love you!!
Pet emergencies are super stressful. My 3yr old beagle, Hamilton, needed care. The first vet I took him to basically gave him a worse case scenario death sentence & bill was ASTRONOMICAL! After calling what seemed to be every emergency pet care place in Manhattan- one of the places I spoke to suggested VEG. From the first phone call to treatment & discharge they were beyond amazing. Dr. Shliselberg, the nurses, the techs & the Rockstar at the front desk Lisa, all made sure the experience was as stress free as possible. Dr. Shliselberg gave me a thorough breakdown of what Hamilton needed and what the best treatment was. She took into consideration that cost was a concern and did her best to work with me. I wish they had routine checkup hours !! I would make this Hamiltons primary care vet!! I cant say enough good things about VEG. These are some awesome VEGGIES!!
First time to visit the place with an urgent matter for my canine. The check-in was thru the website but quick. We were seen not so long. Assessments done quick with background history of the reason why my canine needed an urgent visit. Dr. Andrea attended to my pet. Shes gentle and thorough examining my pet. She discussed the conservative intervention alternative at the moment versus surgery. With some prescriptions, overall experience was very pleasant. Definitely, I will recommend the clinic for excellent care for our four legged family in urgent need.
Overall my experience was positive, everyone was kind and helpful. My only issue is the staff lacked effective communication with the vet. Several times I noticed assisting staff looked lost because they didn’t know what to do until the vet communicated with them. It caused me to lose an hour of time, I appreciate there service and I would recommend to anyone still. They are amazing, no one is perfect I just felt I should share my experiences holistically.
Brought our pup Hudson in this evening and will only be coming here from now on for all emergency needs, which you always hope is not often. Dr. Vanessa Cheng was fantastic - so kind with a great demeanor and bedside manner. One of the best parts about VEG is that you don’t have to fill out pages and pages of paperwork. We were seen very quickly and it’s all extremely efficient. I like how everything is out in the open so you can be with your dog rather than sending them into a back room that you will never see. It’s also extremely clean!
We took our cat here for an emergency blockage situation. They were fast to see, triage and treat him with the appropriate means . Dr.Riley was very empathetic towards our situation and helped us treat our feline with the most excellent care . The nurses and staff accommodated us (Me my husband and 2 kids) Great hospitality! I couldn’t be more happy to recommend this hospital for your sick/injured pets for any emergency situation . I could not be grateful enough to have found them.
I have to say that I am impressed by all of the compassion, the quality of work, and the attentiveness of the staff. They were very kind with my cat, Sebastian, even up to the final moment when I unfortunately had to put him down. My baby was diagnosed with a bony tumor in his lower jaw, and the doctor was kind but honest with me. It was either surgery, chemotherapy, or palliative care. The surgery and chemo would have been too much on a 21 year old, so we chose the palliative care and put him on pain killers, until we unfortunately had to put him to sleep yesterday. They were very kind and understanding the whole way through. They let me have my privacy with him and say goodbye to him, as well as accommodate my request to stay with him the whole way through. I will be using their services in the future. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
I brought my dog here who was diagnosed with having low blood calcium. The staff at VEG were all very helpful. They assured me that my dog would be okay. First I called and they were able to assist me, they answered all my questions. The office itself is very clean and welcoming. Once I arrived they took care of my dog and thankfully she has been good ever since. I would recommend this emergency Vet to everyone.
The nicest people I have ever met! I took my dog Lulu in the other night, and they were quick to take her vitals and get her checked. There were a few ladies in specific that really helped me out alot, and i cannot thank them enough. They made sure they helped me with everything and anything i needed before i left. They even told me to call them back the next morning if i needed help with anything else because my dog was needing surgery. I called them the next morning, and they found a place right away for me to get my dog in within the next hour. They saved my dogs life, and she is doing very well and recovering from surgery now. If you’re looking for an emergency vet, this is your place to go.
We rushed our little girl (Cat) into the hospital. 10.00pm She was taken right away, we were given the very best treatment. There were two emergency situations going on. But Our cat had her own room and she was safe. I cannot express how kind the entire staff have been towards all the animals especially to my cat. I will be picking up the love of my life this afternoon and she will make a full recovery.VEG is the very best in NYC .
I can’t speak highly enough of the entire team at VEG. They made a prolonged and extremely difficult situation for my dog and I into as comfortable and caring an experience as possible. Dr. Gordon and all of the vets took time to thoroughly explain everything and listen to every concern with compassion and understanding. Never once did I feel unheard or feel that my dog didn’t have someone advocating for his care. I sat for 7 hours with my dog and multiple times the techs would stop by and not only check in on my dog, but would also make sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I was blown away because they took time out of their hectic day to care for owners in addition to the pets. I had extensive time to observe them treat every single person that walked through the door with the same level of compassion. I will always recommend the VEG group to anyone in a crisis as a great place to start
I highly recommend this place to anyone who has a pet! This is my second time now here with my shihtzu, Jake, and the entire staff is amazing! They are super helpful and transparent and help guide you make the right decisions. Jake is my best friend and to see how they treat him is the best thing. They are always attentive, resourceful, and super super nice - which is super important when dealing with uneasy situations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10 - cant say enough good things about this place!!
From the moment I walked in with Andy, I was greeted with warmth and compassion. Dr. Mathew Gordon was incredibly thoughtful and made the process so much easier. Even the receptionists were very kind and supportive which is a reflection of the outstanding service here at VEG. I hope you never have to take your pet to an ER but if you do, please come to VEG. You will be in the best hands! Thank you to everyone!
Had to rush my dog in after ingesting something toxic and the staff here were so caring, helpful and calm and made sure my dog dot received the utmost care and attention. Couldnt recommend enough. And as far as emergency vets go in new york not outrageously expensive or trying to rip you off in a vulnerable time.
Hi everyone my experience with the emergency group was awesome everyone is awesome theyre very respectful courteous caring loving and straight to the medical attention of my cat Sally I recommend this place to anyone if needed. Thank you guys blessings to you all and stay safe and they also didnt beat my pocket😊 it definitely worked with me. And unfortunately I had to put my text Sally down she was very sick and they made me feel so comfortable with my little Sally 😢 and she will rest in peaceful heavenly pet heaven 🙏. Thank you so much emergency ..group.
Cannot recommend highly enough! The vets, techs, and staff are so friendly and caring. A vet even took a call from me at 3 am when I had a dosage question. The facility is spotless, and most importantly they let you be with your pet for almost all of the procedures. Prices are super reasonable with zero surprise charges. We love VEG!
Came in with my fur baby Savannah as a transfer from bond vet. The whole team was amazing and treated Savannah with so much love and care as if she was their own. They truly care about the pets and I’m grateful for everything they have done. Special shout out to Dr Schiselberg!
Amazing, caring and compassionate service. I will recommend this facility to everyone I know who loves their pets. The staff is helpful and just lovely to humans and animals ... you can just tell how much they want to help you. I cant say enough good things or express my thanks for helping me with my senior doggie.
I came here due to an emergency with my cat and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I was clearly stressed out so they made sure I felt comfortable and taken care of. I witnessed a number of other pet emergencies come in and them handle each and every one of them with the same diligence and care. The doctor made sure all my concerns were heard and entertained all my questions. She presented a care plan and made sure I understood it. I would definitely return here for any emergencies in the future.
I am so thankful for all the staff at this Veterinary Emergency Group. My 9 year old Maltese was experiencing bloody vomit and bloody stool and no where else would take him in for an emergency visit so I made the trip to the city after discovering this location and I’m very glad I did. Based off of their assessments and tests they discovered my dog had pancreatitis and they were very open and thorough with discussing his care and all the available options. Everyone was very kind and knowledgeable and when I had to leave my dog for an overnight stay I knew he would be in great hands. When I visited him before the night of his stay he already seemed to have more energy as he was very lethargic when I have brought him in. This facility is very understanding and allow you to be with you pet and involved with their care at all times. By the next day he was already doing better and he was ready to come home by the afternoon time. They were also great at discussing follow up care for his recovery when returning home. For any pressing situations I would definitely recommend taking your pet here, they are very compassionate and dedicated and it shows in their work. The Doctors, Techs, and Assistants all work together very well and treated my dog with the best care I am very satisfied and grateful for all that did to help my dog get better.
I cannot complain about this place. My dog eats everything he finds and had accidentally chewed on an old fentanyl patch that lead to poisoning. I thought I was going to loose my baby but they took him in and did their magic and my baby was up and running within a few minutes of undergoing treatment.. the only con is that you have to call poison control yourself for a case number that the vet will have access to call and figure out the best treatment for the dog and a fee of 65 to 75 dollars just for that information
My first time here. Loved it. I really felt comfortable with them. almost right away my anxiety calmed and my cat too. Love the staff, felt so safe with my pet. I have only one disappointment and that is that they aren’t able to be my primary vet for everything!!!!!! =)I can daydream though. =) Eloise
Convenience: great. The vet who treated my dog: absolutely lovely. However, I was really shocked by the amount of unprofessionalism and unhygienic practices I witnessed during my one hour in their waiting room. The front staff did nothing but fool around, eat food, and watch TikTok videos. The vet techs and nurses were performing medical procedures right in the waiting room on the dirty floor, without any gloves or sterilization. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. I asked that my dog to be taken in the back for her exam because the floor was dirty and several dogs were treated in the same spot without any cleaning or sanitation in between. I also did not need her to be stressed out during her exam with all of the other dogs and cats in the room. It was a shame to see that not one staff member (except the doctor who treated my dog) was wearing a mask at any point. Most did not even wear gloves. The vet tech who came out at the end to give us our medication was not informed about the medicine or the dosage and was giving me the wrong information. I’m glad I asked someone else. We would have gone to our regular vet, however it was later in the evening and they suggested we go to urgent care instead. Next time I will just go to AMC which is a little longer of a wait but way more professional and hygienic.
I would not bring my pet here ever again. My 15 year old dog was in distress, and I brought him to VEG on the UES for care. The doctor never bothered to diagnose him, and suggested that he be euthanized. Luckily, I followed my instincts and took him to AMC for proper care. I am so glad that I did because they were able to figure out that he had a blood clot which they were able to resolve with medication. He is now back home with us happy as ever!
Very clean, very attentive! I was very comfortable with them examining my pet and their recommendations. They did not push more medical intervention and then we were comfortable with! I felt like I was taking my child to a pediatrician and would always go back there!!
Orejas, my 7 years old puddle had an emergency. He had a glass cut underneath one of his legs. All the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The receptionists were on point always addressing my doubts and letting me know what’s happening at every moment. Dr. Cheng was the person who saw my dog, she was very energetic and patient. She thoughtfully explained me the things that had to be done to Orejas in order to clean his wound and for the upcoming recovery. After that, another member of the staff came to help, his name is Josue. He really showed interest in helping and did his best to ensure Orejas well-being. The commitment and kindness that he showed is something that will be remember and always appreciate it by my family. He was simply awesome. 5 starts to this place! I wish you guys the best.
My cat, Gabriel, has a history of digestive problems. I brought him to VEG because he was vomiting and unable to eat. The reception staff are friendly and attentive, and I was seen promptly. Dr. Vanessa Cheng and her technician were pleasant and professional. Dr. Cheng listened carefully to the history I provided, examined Gabe, and thoroughly explained her proposed treatment. She fully engaged me in the process and answered all my questions. Her technician also explained what she was doing and demonstrated how to administer the medication. Gabe began to recover the next day and was soon back to normal. I am completely satisfied and eager to recommend this VEG practice to other pet owners.
My poor puppy Luna was struggling with an ear infection that actually turned out to be a yeast infection. They were so nice & gentle with her & she is finally feeling better & has her appetite back. I was so worried but they reassured me that she would be fine & that she is. Great service & so welcoming! Best emergency vet in NYC
My cat needed emergency surgery on a holiday weekend, and I couldn’t have asked for more professional, caring staff than at VEG. I have never been allowed behind the scenes before, but it eased my anxiety to see how my cat was being treated and then be able to stay with her until time for surgery. I have never had a vet experience this transparent, positive. These people really care.
Brought my cat in for an urgent issue overnight and staff were beyond kind and thoughtful both with my cat with with me. They talked through all options thoroughly with me, and I never felt pressured by them, just supported. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone
My cat ate part of my mask while I was in the middle of a move and new to NYC. Staff were so nice while I was panicking. Dr. Cheng didnt even charge me for the visit because she didnt end up needing any medical intervention. I really appreciated their kindness on a stressful day.
What a wonderful experience here. I came here, tear-filled transferred from VEG Williamsburg with my cat who was peeing blood and vomiting. We came late at night and the waiting time was nearly little to none; you can tell once you get in that the team works together effortlessly and efficiently. It turns out my cat had Pyometra and needed to have emergency surgery. Here’s where Dr.Andrea Shliselberg and her team came to the rescue. they gave us options that made the surgery for my cat possible and affordable. I was so thankful for her and her teams’ gracious generosity. They even offered us a room to wait in while my cat was in surgery. She came out safe, healthy, and it’s a day later and she’s already on her feet. Thank you Dr.Andrea Shliselberg and the VEG team for allowing Kupo another chance at life. If you want people who care about the health of your pet, please look no further.
Omg!!! All The staff are amazing… they were very careful with my cat and extremely attentive to our feelings. It was our first time there and seeing how they took control of ALL entry situations at a timely but speedy and careful matter meant alot for us. Will continue to come here and WILL inform my friends and family to bring their little fur balls here as well.LOVE THIS PLACE
They couldn’t be kinder or more welcoming. We came in panicked with our sick up and we were greeted calmly and assured he was going to be okay. The staff is friendly and the vet we saw was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and listened to everything we had to say. They updated is every step of the way. We couldn’t recommend them more!
Came in for an emergency visit for our cat in the middle of the night. Dr. Reilly and the whole team were super friendly, consistently provided us with updates, and were super willing to explain everything to us. Hopefully you never have a pet emergency, but if you do VEG is the place to go.- Shadow, Libby, Jess
TLDR: Forceful vet tech hurt my cats eye during first visit, wonderful doctor helped cleared our concern when we returnedwe took our cat finny in for a visit at around 530pm because he was having watery diarrhea a few times within hours and was lethargic. Most of the staff was nice but there was one mid age Asian guy vet tech who was very rough when taking vitals and hurt my cats eye in the process. He was trying to take temperature of my cat but was unsuccessful in both armpit method or ear method for a total of 5ish minutes, during which he was forcefully pressing down my cats face near eye area. He was also not wearing gloves and does not seem to be very skilled at his work. The doctor came in later and quoted us a a bunch of good to have procedures totally to around $700 dollars (IV, ultrasound, etc), in which we asked which ones are the necessary ones and he said none of them. So we just left and went home after paying the basic $175 emergency visit after hearing the doctor says my cat is very likely fine. Overall the visit of the doctor was mediocre as he did not seem passionate/caring about the situation and was slightly standoffish when he found out we got our cat from a breeder. After we got home we noticed my cats right eye was bothering him, he was squinting a lot and visibly uncomfortable. We called later in the evening to speak to a vet explaining the situation of the vet tech in the earlier visit might have hurt my cats eye while trying to forcefully hold him down. The doctor on duty, Dr. Stephaine Ray was wonderfully sweet and invited us to come back for a check up.we ended up returning at around 12am, and Dr, Ray and another really sweet vet tech saw my cat, examined and washed his eye carefully, and assured us there was no visible trauma on the cornea that they could see. She also sent us home with some ointment for potential infection just in case without charge.overall my experience with the VEG has been just medicore, i wish more staff/doctors were like Dr. Stephaine Ray and less so like the rough vet tech. Unless there is no choice for us, we are unlikely going back to the VEG.
I cannot recommend this group enough. Dr. Cucui (sp? Dr. Eloise!), Dimitrius and the rest of the staff who helped us were absolutely top notch. They were friendly, compassionate, and obviously love their jobs. They are realistic but warm ... they made the whole process of getting my senior pup the help he needed when he couldnt walk seamless. They even sat with my doggie when I had to leave the room for a minute so he wasnt alone. I will tell everyone I know who has a pet to come here for emergency care. Truly an amazing place.
I brought my cat here today because she was disoriented and wobbly and just not well. I was terrified and in a panic. The staff was incredibly friendly and they not only comforted me, but my cat as well. From the receptionist, to the tech, to the nurse and doctor, everyone was pleasant and compassionate, which is what any pet owner in distress needs when their pet is unwell. I asked a million questions and they were informative and didn’t seem too annoyed (lol). I’m very grateful for their kindness. It is definitely pricey, but that’s expected at any emergency vet. This was something that couldn’t just wait until Monday for a non-emergency vet visit, so I came here knowing I’d have to pay the price. They were transparent with the estimate so I could understand the breakdown of costs.Thank you all so much for taking good care of my kitty and treating me well when I was in such a panic! ❤️
This place is a blessing for your furr baby! The staff, the doctors and everyone in this place is so lovely. They treat you and your fur baby with respect and love. May God keep blessing you all and thanks for saving my tiny little baby! You are angels for this animals.
This place is full of love.. they really love your animals and know what there doing. I couldn’t ask for any better, they all took care of my baby scars and her little one and I’m so appreciated ! Thank you to everyone there. Highly recommend this place , if you want your animals in great hands this is it
These people are amazing! There are a lot of general practices around the area but nothing compares to this emergency location. I wish they were a general practice! The staff is so sweet and amazing! They really care for you and your pet as soon as you come through the door!
Our cat had a urinary blockage a couple of weeks ago and ended up having to have a bladder surgery to clear stones. The entire staff at VEG was so kind throughout the process and we could tell they really cared. They went out of their way to check in after he came home from surgery and set us up with the first weeks worth of food for his new diet while we waited for his prescription food to come in. Due to the pandemic, it has been a tough time financially for us and even though VEG doesnt offer discounts on bills, the staff helped us find financing options and even went so far as to cap our bill so it did not exceed the initial intake and surgery costs even if he needed more care. Overall, we are so happy we brought our cat here, he was so well taken care of and the staff was so kind and professional throughout the process.
I would honestly like to say thank you to everyone in that hospital and I mean every last single one. the love y’all have for the pets and ppl is really under rated really. For five day literally been seeing different vets. Taking my money and giving me my dog back saying nothings wrong wit her. Blood work X-rays so on and so forth. Walk-in to that hospital and the amount of weigh that was lifted off of me and my wife shoulders is amazing we broke cause the rip off vets that don’t care if you really care about your pets or not and just want your money we happy now cause of veterinary Emergency group y’all are really the best.Special thanks to dr. Aron nickels, Receptionist Lisa and hospital assistants Demetrius and Anika I appreciate yall soul god bless 💯💯💯💯💯💯 6/5/22
THEY LOST MY CATS ASHES! JUSTICE FOR ALONA !!!!!! My cat ALONA had cancer. They told it would be best to put her down. ALONA my cat .was then sent to final gift for a cremation. They charged my 850$ told me due tocovid she would have to be brought to me by personal delivery. They then proceeded to deliver her by ups. And lost her ashes sent her ashes to the wrong address. I had her for 19 years I have no kids she is my daughter .she is currently lost thanks to these people unprofessional
Great service and care for our Shiba Inu that needed emergency help on a Friday night. They helped us through the entire process from getting our dog into the clinic to helping out with financing. Special shoutout to Dr. Cheng, Chrissy the tech, and Krist Ayo the assistant for managing the Shiba scream very well, handling the situation with so much care, and answering our questions thoroughly. Thanks!
I never write reviews but have to say something for VEG on the UES because they were sooo wonderful to me and my dog Woodford. His vet confirmed that he has diabetes and needed to do testing for the insulin with IV to help flush out the ketones, etc. The test was to take at least 24 hours but I did not want to leave him… not only did they let me stay, but also gave me an exam room to hang out and sleep in… they went above and beyond! The doctors were so wonderful with Woodford and very informative… printed out information for me to read, showed me the test results/charts on the computer and answered all my questions with so much patience. The nurses (Chrissy, Khelsey, Jonathan) were amazing! Most importantly they were so sweet and gentle with my Woodford, plus they were so wonderful to me… made me a makeshift bed, constantly asked if I needed anything, showed me how to give Woodford his shots, etc. Everyone at the hospital made a very scary and stressful situation much easier. I cannot praise all of them enough!! THANK YOU 💙🐕
Horrific unsafe place entirely. If you enjoy watching non-compassionate doctors laughing and chit chatting while your dog/baby bleeds away, - this is the place for you. Literally the rest of these reviews must be fictitious- this place is horrendous and far from an ED if you love your fur baby stay away from this place
I brought my dog here for an emergency visit. The vet and vet techs treated him with respect, kindness, and professionalism. They saw he was nervous to be on the table so they sat on the floor and examined him there. There is coffee, water, and treats (for humans) and treats for pets. Bam Bam was treated so well and recovered quickly. Thank you!!!
By far some of the friendliest and most professional staff Ive ever met. The staff made sure I knew what would be happening to my dog, the whole process, and made sure we were both comfortable. They were always available for phone calls and were always punctual with their calls back to me. Cannot recommend them enough.
My cat ody was sick and I needed him evaluated right away. The experience was stressful since he is part of a bonded pair and I had to leave his sister Offset, at home. The service was efficient, quick, and courteous. The online reports and contact worked fine and helped eliviate my high stress. Thanks to Dr.Stephanie and your magnificent team for taking care of my heart and returning him safely to me. P.s the antibiotics worked.
Thanks to Dr. Rodriguez and the amazing team at VEG for taking care of my sweet puppy Mira. They did an amazing job and were straightforward with me about all possible outcomes when I brought in my 4 month old puppy who had swallowed a toy (kids these days.) I felt Mira was in good care with them throughout the entire process and had faith as they maintained clear communication and updates during her entire stay. We had a nerve racking success with the scope procedure as Dr. Rodriguez pulled the toy out by a lone sliver of an eyelash. Thanks to her and her steadfast team, I brought Mira home with me the same day and am forever grateful that their thorough care and determination kept Mira from heading into a serious surgery that would have been less than ideal for her down the line. Thanks again to all and take care.
This place must have fake reviews. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came to this place because of the reviews and I was confident I was in the right hands. I WAS WRONG!! I came to this location because it was an emergency. My dog wouldn’t stop whimpering because it has back pain and my dog could barely walk straight. The “Doctor” was able to diagnose the issue but did not treat my dog or come up with any solution that made not question if my visit had been for nothing. I paid just over $200 for medication that would only make my dog sleep for the next two weeks and barely eat. I visited my primary vet the next day and showed them the paperwork from Veterinary Emergency Group and everything my primary vet stated was nothing I wanted to hear but it was definitely a more proper diagnosis. Don’t go to this vet. Ever. My primary vet had a issue with everything the “Doctors” said at Veterinary Emergency Group. I will be calling for a refund.
My good friend had to make an emergency visit to this clinic with his cat this morning. The team here has amazing service and treated my friend with kindness and made time to answer every question he had. Dr. Gordon and Dr Nichols were helpful, pleasant, and very thorough. I have allergies BTW and not once did I sneeze or have a fit; this place is very clean. I am really glad my friend came here because a sick pet is hard enough to deal with. Knowing that his feline fellow is safe and well taken care means more than I can describe with words.Thank you sooooo much!
All of the staff at VEG were incredible! I had one of the best experiences here that Ive ever had with a vet before. The front staff members are very sweet and knowledgeable. Sam, Dr. Rey and Richard were all so kind and patient with my cat, and walked me through everything that they were doing step by step which made me feel really comfortable and at ease. Sam even went the extra mile of clipping my cats nails and cleaning his ears while he was sedated. As the owner of a very difficult cat to manage, I highly recommend this place!
They were very attentive and compassionate, they immediately understood how severe was our case and they helped us being admitted for emergency surgery at the closest animal hospital. I cant explain how grateful we are with Veterinary Emergency Group. Many thanks to Dr. Reilly and all the amazing staff.
Overall, this is a great place I would recommend to anyone with a pet in crisis. The minus 1 star is because it was pretty expensive ($1k for the emergency vet visit, x-rays, and some pain meds, only to be told my kitten had gotten too rowdy and probably just sprained a leg--but still glad to know its nothing too serious!). To be fair, I have no idea how this price compares to the going rate for these services in Manhattan, I just know that in my hometown, these emergency vet services would cost about half as much. I imagine its more expensive here, as is everything else...That said, the service and the staff themselves were fantastic! All of the people I talked to there were very kind and clearly loved animals, and even though it was pretty busy there, they managed to find us a quiet room to wait with our cat, away from the huge dogs in the waiting room. The person who did the physical exam and explained our treatment choices was even kind enough to share what she would do in our situation, and it ended up saving us a little money in the end. Considering it was an emergency vet, we didnt have to wait around TOO long to be seen, which we were grateful for, as our cat had had a very long and stressful day.Having come from a really terrible non-emergency vet who carried around our 7 month old cat by the scruff and shoved her back into her carrier, where we had to wait on the busy street for 10 minutes before waiting in a cramped hallway for another 20 minutes to be seen... this place was refreshingly considerate of our cat!
Our cat, Mo, wasn’t doing too well so I wanted to make sure he was in the best care for treatment and make sure he was comfortable. I researched and looked at other emergency hospitals before VEG, and I am SO glad Mo ended up here. Dr. Carlie and Dr. Stephanie and the ENTIRE staff went above and beyond to make Mo feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Carlie gave us possible outcomes based off of what he was currently going through, and what his body may or may not be able to take. Our final decision ended up being based off of what his blood levels were, and we made an informed and right decision for Mo’s situation. VEG allowed us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. We unfortunately had to put Mo to sleep, and he went peacefully.VEG — I highly recommend them. VEG cares as much for your pet as you do.
Came in for my dog last night. I chose this place over the few hospitals closer to me because of their pricing. It was super affordable for a hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Glass saw my dog and she was extremely sweet, knowledgeable and informative. She knew what she was talking about and I left feeling comfortable with the info she gave me. The staff overall were so respectful and one could tell they all love animals. Emergency or not, I 100% recommend this place. Thanks everyone at VEG !
The staff was so helpful and treated my boyfriend and my dog so nice and helped figure out what was wrong. We thanked them so much. It was a pleasant experience for our dog and us. I recommend this place definitely if you need to get emergency care for your pet. if I could rate more than 5 stars I would. Thank you to this veterinary place for the great care they give to all pets.
I took my dog last night who ate some mouse poison. They quickly induced vomiting and examined the vomit. Then they gave him some medication to clean his stomach and help with the acid lining. When I took my dog home that evening, he was completely normal and has been great since. The staff was fast, helpful and sweet. I got the feeling that everyone at this location truly loves animals.
Absolutely the best experience! Have had many animals over my lifetime, and many vet visits. Dr Gordon was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable Kept us apprised of the situation moment to moment. We were part of the entire experience. The techs are awesome. So good to animals. Highly, highly recommended!!!❤️🙏🥰
Our regular emergency clinic didn’t have any slots available so we just randomly picked best reviewed one from google maps in the general area and I’m so glad we did, because it was the best care for my pet I’ve seen in an emergency clinic.Every single staff member was absolutely amazing, the reception, vets and all the technicians that we saw. I love that my dog was taken care of in such a calm and organised manner, as well as we were able to stay with him the whole time, which most likely reduced his stress of being in new environment with new people as he’s still a pup and not feeling too good on top of that. I’ve also noticed that other people and their pets were very calm, which is not that common in emergency clinics at all.We received after visit notes in email and I think it’s the most detailed notes I’ve ever gotten for my pets, it left no questions and covered all the possibilities, i can always go back to it and read it.We’ll only be taking our pets here for emergencies from now on. They have little fridge magnets available in reception( i took couple extra to give to my family with pets) so in case of anything, you don’t have to scramble looking for phone number.
I never ever post a review but I just had to for how amazing this place is. The receptionist Melissa is AMAZING! As also are all the nurses and doctor. I took my dog in and was taken care of right away. Doctor sat down explained all our options and got my dog feeling way better. IF YOUR ANIMAL IS SICK PLEASE BRING THEM HERE! They are very caring and genuinely go above and beyond.
My dog somehow got a round bone marrow bone caught in his mouth, stuck in his jaw and lodged in by his two canine teeth. I ran over to VEG, where I was seen immediately. The facilities are brand new, spotless and the whole staff couldn’t be more lovely, reassuring and helpful. The vets were hands on, talked me through our options and were just so kind. Thankfully between the two vets we were able to go the less invasive route because one of the vets had seen this happen before! So we didn’t end up having to cut the bone out of my dogs mouth but rather gently wiggle it out while he was sedated. They stayed with us from start to finish to monitor my dog after coming out of sedation, gave me medication to ensure he wouldn’t potentially get an infection and explained everything I needed to do/know for the next few days! I can’t say enough about the help, support and kindness I received today. I hope not to have to go back (as they only deal in medical emergencies), but should the situation arise, they will be my first and only stop! Thank you again Dr. Austin and Dr. Arbona! Jasmine, you were amazing from start to finish as well! And thank you to the receptionist who didn’t laugh when I was crying, but only came to offer tissues and water and try and calm me down! Thank you all so much! You made what was a stressful situation for us so bearable (and ok, fine, I was more panicked than my dog was) 😉!
My baby kitty fell from my apt from the 15th floor and broke his femur, they helped him so much and had so much care for him. My kitten acts like a baby and loves to be held and kissed for comfort, they did all that and helped my baby with my permission. I will forever feel safe with this place and any of my pets!
Amazing experience with my cat , loved how everyone is so loving and caring for animals . Amazing doctors thank you to Dr.Reilly for explaining everything and answering all my questions and the amazing front desk staff Erika & Melissa , saw them answering phones back to back and also worried about incoming customers. Great place definitely recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I don’t know where to begin. VEG will forever be our dog’s saviors and guardian angels after a horrific experience at Blue Pearl Midtown. The staff is amazingly compassionate and understanding, welcoming and kind. From the professional, personable and kind vets, to the caring and compassionate vet techs, I’m at a loss for words. In short- Blue Pearl Midtown advised to euthanize our young otherwise healthy shepherd mix after a 4 day hospitalization, despite her energetic healthy looking demeanor. They based their advise solely on her blood/lab work. Obviously we quickly took her out of that hell hole called Blue Pearl and brought her for supportive care at VEG. There she recieved the 24 hrs of love and care that she deserved to fight whatever sudden Illness she got. They also calmed us down that she can go home and to just be watchful. So that’s what we did. Her lab work is back and she is recovered! Our gorgeous family dog fought whatever she had, and is making a full recovery! Thank you VEG for believing in our beloved dog’s will to live, giving her the time she needed to recuperate and fight her illness. I wish Blue Pearl would take a page out of your book. Thank you thank you thank you from all of us. We love you.
Called late night and was able to speak to someone ( not a machine!)because my cat swallowed string and was vomiting. Brought Kitty in and was treated like royalty. Staff and doctor were very friendly and professional. Took excellent care of her when we made the decision for her to stay. Was treated to coffee, tea, water, and other goodies. Found out she was alright. They made sure she was well taken care of. I was super blessed and lucky to find this establishment. Wish I could bring her here for her vet visit!!!!
Our puppy had a nose bleed suddenly while sleeping so we brought him in. Everyone there was so comforting and not phased at all by the blood. Gave us a blanket and made our dog comfortable while they examined him and were very nice to him and us despite the mess. Their diagnosis was fair and they gave us different pricing and honest advice about what we could do vs what we needed to do. We really appreciated their help and kindness.
I had to take my fur baby here today because she just wasnt herself. As soon as I walked through the door, the staff was very professional and nice. There was a slight wait but nothing too crazy. There were other pets in front of mine that needed their services too. The vet was very kind and came up with two separate game plans for my baby. Of course, going to an emergency vet is always a little pricey but they came up with options and let you know from the start the price before they do any work. I would definitely recommend and I would go back if my vet is not available or if my baby has an emergency in the future.
Brought my pup here for the first time after he ate a small piece of garlic! The tech, Kat and assistants Dre and Yasmin had a great positive energy. They talked us through what they were doing and let us be close to our dog to keep him calm in a scary situation. We were seen quickly and the cost of the visit was reasonable. Highly recommend if you are in need of emergency care!
We brought our cat to VEG while she was in respiratory distress. From the first minute it has been an absolutely amazing experience. The front desk staff, the assistants, the doctors - all simply amazing. The level of compassion and care they show for the pet and the owner is simply unmatched! Our cat stayed there for 24 hours and we were called every hour during the day by the doctor herself and were told in detail: what was happening, which procedures were recommended, what is being done, how she is doing and feeling. All the options and prices have been made known to us and there were no surprises when the bill came. The staff helped us apply for care credit, took care of all the details and have shown a great amount of patience and compassion. Thank you VEG for taking care of our baby! We really felt how great the practice was once we had to transfer out to a specialist (Atlantic Coast Veterinary Group) and encounter an absolute opposite experience in terms of how the patients are treated.VEG is absolutely amazing! Thank you again to each person there! Its a very hard job and you do it all brilliantly without forgetting to be compassionate and kind at such a difficult time for the pet parents!
Our family is grateful to Vet Emergency Group! Loving staff, patient, great communicators, and genuinely caring. Our family dog, Caddy, whom we had for over 16 years had two severe seizures in a row, so we wrapped her up and jumped in a car, calling clinics that were open at 11pm. Their reviews were high so we called them and headed straight there. This was shocking for me b/c Caddy was super healthy and energetic. She had a final seizure right before we arrived at the clinic and she had passed soon after handing her over. It was emotional, yet comforting due to how the staff talked to us and talked about Caddy. They resuscitated her per our request and let us see her when it was clear that she would not make it.After which, they cleaned Caddy up and wrapped her sweetly in a blanket. They put her in a private room so that I could hold her and say goodbye. They could not have done anything better. Although Caddy’s passing was sudden/expected, there is comfort in a quick passing when handled the way that this staff did.And though cost is not a primary concern in family matters, it is a constraint to receiving great care and services...but not here. This clinic is very reasonable and worked with us.Considering everything, I highly recommend and would visit again and again.
MY BABY WOULD OF PASSED AWAY BY NOW WITHOUT THEIR CARE AND COMPASSION. MY BABY IS CRITICALLY ILL DUE TO RAT TOXCITY. VEG IS DOING THEIR BEST IN THEIR CARE FOR MY BABY. TWO OTHER LOCATIONS MISSED DIAGNOSED MY MINI AUSSIE. THIS IS WHY SHE IS CRITICAL AS 3 DAYS HAD ALREADY PASSSED DUE TO THEIR MISSED DIAGNOSIS. I AM ENTERNALLY GRATEFUL TO THE DOCTORS AND STAFF AT VEG FOR THEIR COMPASSION. PLEASE KEEP MY BABY IN YOUR PRAYERS.
The best, most compassionate care. A few months ago, our pup was really sick with severe GI issues and we brought him here. The staff and the setup make it a calming experience (not easy when you’re worried about your dog). Some of the exam tables are in the waiting area, so you can be with your pet. Really feels like the whole business is designed to put people and pets first. Dr. Wagoner was wonderful—so kind and caring and explained everything clearly. Dr. Wagoner even took calls with us weeks later to help us find the right hospital and specialist to visit as our dog has a chronic issue. Truly outstanding care across the board.
My dog, Sky, wasnt feeling well and I loved the fact that I was able to talk to a veterinarian to explain what was going on. The entire process was simple and convenient and the staff was great! Dr. Duvieusert explained everything in detail and walked us through the process. Richard and Nathan was friendly and took care of our little girl like she was one of their own. Will definitely recommend and go back again!
Great staff. Great place. I had to do some waiting upon arrival but that was okay since my 14 year old chihuahua dog was not critically ill; it is an emergency room, severity of illness is cared for first. Every staff member was attentive to mine and my dogs needs while I waited. Dr. Rey took the time to explain my dogs symptoms and recommended procedures and care. I never felt pressured into anything which is important.
My niece dog passed away she took him to this establishment. The representative did not explain to her all the details. When she went to pick up the ashes they said if was drowned away she paid 300 for cremation and only received a certificate with a paw print. This experience was devastating to her now she has nothing to remember her dog she had for 13 years. There is no excuse for this why not explain what someone is signing she was grieving when you presented the option and didn’t explain what she was going to get horrible. People be aware if your pet passes away make sure they explain the process to you before you sign any documents
I brought my cat, Boomie, who was vomiting for about 3 days and wouldnt eat. Dr. Rey and the nursing staff took really good care of Boomie. The staff was so professional, and Dr. Rey kept me in the loop and frequently checked in with me to update me on Boomies status. My cat is now herself again and doing well. I highly recommend this group if your pet needs emergent care.
Veg Vet is a totally incredible emergency facility. I am a SICU nurse and I am amazed at the level of skill of the staff and technical abilities of the facilities. I felt like I was in a loving, caring, knowledgeable and fully equipped environment capable of handling any and all emergencies. I especially commend the caliber of the staff. Nurses -RICHARD ROSARIO, Natalie and Ashley were skilled at their jobs, Receptionist -Lisa and Michelle were welcoming, inviting and pleasant and above all Dr Shilisberg was knowledgeable attentive and very communicative. I spent a few days looking for a place to take my 14 yo feline and could not have asked for or found Better. They are Top Notch. You will not be disappointed. Just so you know animal care in NYC is pricey, might as well spend the money for the BEST. Thank You for calming my concerns. Darlene Ricco and FEME (Meeooww)
They took care of my Ippo. Despite not being able to bring him back home because of a terminal illness, I was able to hold him and spend as much time with him before laying him to rest. I’m currently pregnant and they made sure I was okay. It’s hard letting one baby go while one is entering the world soon. They were very caring. Thank you for everything
They were so friendly and helpful when I had to bring my dog in after she ingested an entire chew toy. It was late at night and cold outside, but the staff was so friendly and even brought me a blanket to stay warm while I waited for her to receive care (I had to stay outside due to COVID restrictions). She’s also very reactive to other animals, so they ensured that all the other animals were cleared out of the common areas before bringing her back.10/10 would recommend using their emergency medical services.
Everybody was so nice here! From the lady on the phone to the receptionist to the vet . Everybody was super helpful . Our pup was in and out in an hour. Everybody that works there you can tell really likes their job and really likes animals ! Very professional and knowledgeable! Thank you for seeing peanut!
Dr. Duvieusart and Richard provided above and beyond amazing care. My dog is new and I was extremely worried when I had to bring him there. They immediately made me feel very comfortable and I knew right away my dog was in excellent care. They answered all of my questions, big and small, and provided constant updates until my floof was ready to come home. Even after bringing him home, I know I can call them any time of day if I have questions / concerns and still receive amazing care. If you’re in need of urgent care for your dog I HIGHLY recommend. During COVID, when we don’t have inside access to vets, I knew even though I couldn’t see him that he was being treated with so much love.
They are the 21st Century of Vet Care. They want you to stay near your pet for comfort and no undue stress during trying times. Why go wait for 2 hours until your old Vet is ready to see your baby. The VEG Team takes you right away.8 locations including White Plains !
These people are amazing! I took my cat in for vomiting after he ate a cat toy. The doctor and all the techs were extremely compassionate, kind, caring and took all the time needed to explain what was wrong and answer questions. Downside is there was a long wait but the care was incredible.
Had a great experience here! They took great care of my kitten, I could see them treating her through the windows and they were being very gentle and kind. My kitten took quite well to all the staff. They were also very helpful to me as they patiently answered all of my questions (and follow up questions over the next few days). Little kitten now getting better and will be back to 100 in a few days. VEG is definitely now my go-to for my pet emergencies.
If I could give them 0 stars I would they are very unfriendly disrespectful and if you dont have any money they kill your animals they just killed my 2 week old kitten because I didnt have any money for treatment do not take your pets here if you want to leave with them alive
My beloved pup was very sick a couple weeks ago and I rushed her to VEG on 2nd Avenue and Dr. Short welcomed us with kindness and such care. They had to do multiple tests to figure out what was wrong, and the entire staff was so generous with their time and affection for my dog while she was in their care. I needed to make follow up calls and visits and dealt with Dr Cheng who was equally kind and patient with my stressed out dog-mom frenzy. The entire staff was warm and worked hard to move things along - so our experience could feel as seamless as possible. Not an easy feat in emergency vet offices. Thank you for keeping my girl alive and well!
If I could give this place a 20 star review I would. My fur baby was ran over by a car and died immediately on the scene. I came here distraught and heartbroken with my baby in my arms and everyone immediately jumped up to check him. Everyone was so sweet and heartwarming and comforting. Everyone offered their condolences and I felt that they were sad with me. My family was able to come in with me and they got us all chairs and waters and let’s us spend time with my Pooch. I felt some sense of comfort leaving him there with such genuine people. I didn’t feel any negative energy coming from anyone that was there with me and that alone made me feel a little better. Losing a pet isn’t easy, he wasnt just a dog to me he was my bestfriend, my companion, and a member of my family. Thank you to all of the Ladies who were there with me, I love that I walked in to all women here, you are all amazing. RIP Pooch, I will never forget you.
Dr. Stephanie Kuo, Nurse Josh, and the team are simply AMAZING. They are one of the few 24 hour running animal hospitals in the area and when your pet is in need at odd hours, bring them here. Your pet will be so well taken care of (and your own mental health), you know you are in good hands.Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you!!
My dog was attacked by another dog and her ear was covered with blood, so I rushed to this vet. There were two more patients in front of us, so we had to wait for about an hour, but it couldve been worse (and thats nobodys fault). I felt very nervous but the doctor gave me all the information and what kind of treatment theyre going to give to her. She got sedated and stitched her fractured ear. Everything was very professional and they were SUPER BUSY. When I was in the waiting room, I heard incoming calls literally every 5 seconds, but they treated every single patient very well.I like how they give us very detailed written medical reports which surprisingly most of vets Ive visited didnt do (or maybe its an emergency vet thing.)My dog is recovering well and Im really glad that I chose to visit this vet. I cant thank enough for all those hardworking staff at the vet. Thank you so much!
These people are angels. I went in with my dog because I thought she had an upset stomach. After leaving and coming back (I initially refused diagnostic testing), it was discovered that she had a life threatening blockage in her intestines. Dr. Chen ended up performing life saving surgery on my dog, and she was hospitalized for 24 hours after the surgery as well, where she was incredibly well cared for. Over a 72 hour period, I worked with both Dr. Duviesart and Dr. Chen. They were both incredible, compassionate, and brilliant and patiently and thoroughly addressed my questions. They saved my dogs life and helped me through the most stressful night of mine. Since the surgery, the entire clinic seems to know my dog by name and they have patiently answered all of my questions and taken my many, many, many calls. They even asked me to update them on how she is doing at home because they genuinely care. I cannot say enough good things.
This is a fabulous ER vet! I brought my cat here recently and the entire staff is so friendly. Dr. Chen put up with all of my crazy cat mom questions and answered them with such patience! Even though you have to wait outside due to covid they have blankets, hats and hand warmers - such a kind thought and speaks to the quality of care at this facility. I rarely write reviews but I was over whelmed by the customer service.
My cat had a bad ear irritation/infection so we ended up taking her to VEG last night. The entire staff were extremely kind and understanding, they were able to answer all of my questions and concerns (and I had a lot too) before my husband even brought her in. My cat ended up needing surgery so she had to stay the night. Throughout it all the Drs kept in contact with my husband and kept us updated on her status. They took really good care of her. When I picked her up this afternoon, Vanessa (I believe shes the receptionist) was very helpful and informative. She made sure I understood all post op care instructions and had everything I needed to give her the medications before I left. Now the healing process begins.
Would absolutely recommend this place.! I took my cat in to get checked and they were quick to see me. The doctor was so nice and patient and sat down with me to explain the treatment plan they had for my cat. All the staff is very welcoming and patient with the animals and the clients. I would come again for another emergency.
I had a very wonderful experience at VEG. I called before 6am in the morning and was greeted by a very friendly and responsive receptionist. She was very clear and immediately got me on the phone with a doctor to discuss what was happening with my cat. The doctor was so great from that first point of contact. I was able to check in through my phone and bring my cat down with 15 minutes. The received my cat swiftly and examined him. The doctor called me within minutes (I was waiting outside because of COVID) to discuss her observations and recommendations for next steps. We had a number of conversations and she walked me through everything with patience and professionalism. I highly recommend VEG!!!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This was the first veterinary experience where I felt they truly were there to help animals.Dr. Fitzgerald was beyond impressive. I was out of the state and our neighbor brought our cat to VEG. Dr. Fitzgerald spoke to me on the phone 3 times and took the time to explain all options, risks, etc. she was so patient with us since we were traveling and obviously very concerned. The entire staff at the front desk were amazing as well. Very compassionate and thoughtful. There was an error on my invoice and Francesca called right away to refund and apologized for the minor error. Each person who worked there was equally as helpful and kind. I am so impressed. If they took appointments I would make this team my regular vet care. I will absolutely return if needed, and would not hesitate to refer everyone I know to this office.
I have mixed feelings when it comes to my experience with VEG. I would like to begin by saying that every doctor I interacted with was extremely pleasant and courteous (during the day of treatment and via phone follow up) so that’s why I’m stuck in the middle when it comes to my star rating. Kindness tends to go a long way, especially during these times.Initially I decided to contact the office prior to coming in with my puppy after he began gagging and vomiting in the middle of the night. The desk clerk placed me on hold to speak with the doctor in order to discuss the symptoms and I was still on hold as I approached the doors of VEG 45 minutes later. It would’ve been nice if the gentleman followed up while I was waiting.Once checked in the doctor did a quick examination and gave me a call to discuss my options for my pup. I was told that I would need to pay a deposit before beginning treatment. I was quoted two figures (high & low) yet when the link arrived for the deposit, it was for the full amount of the high quote that exceeded $1000. Our treatment ended up being less than both quoted amounts, therefore that left me unsure about how exactly my fees were calculated but I was reimbursed the difference a few days later. The doctor diagnosed/treated my puppy for dehydration, gave him anti nausea medication and suggested a bland diet for his vomiting. Unfortunately once the medication wore off he was vomiting again with some new symptoms. I called to follow up and was told I could bring him back but I would have pay another emergency visit fee plus the price of new imaging. I explained that wasn’t an option especially since I spent hundreds of dollars less than 48 hours prior (only to be told to feed him chicken and white rice).I went to another vet and it turns out there’s actually something wrong with my dog’s liver. I wish that the circumstances were different and I would’ve had the opportunity to do more research before selecting VEG. I could’ve gotten all the testing my dog needed in one office visit for the price I paid for the imaging alone at VEG. Instead I spent multiple days toting around a sick dog and ended up paying triple. I certainly understand that there’s multiple factors that go into pet diagnostics & I’m pretty sure that all the rave reviews are true but my experience here left me feeling a bit disappointed.
I had been to the Veterinary Emergency group twice within a span of a month for my 5 month old Persian kitten. The clinic is open 24*7 and you don’t need to make an appointment for visiting! Each time I went my kitty was examined thoroughly. He was given medication with very specific instructions and that helped him recuperate within days. The staff are kind and very accommodating!
I had an amazing experience with Vet group they were kind and professional. Dr. Kathryn Short is very experienced and so humble, Lisa at the front desk has great energy and thoughtful! and Nurse Yadira is also very experienced. Thank you ladies fir giving me and my Parakeet Sarah the attention that was needed.
I was a bit nervous about bringing my cat in during the pandemic since humans arent able to enter the building with their pets at the moment, but the staff was able to take care of my cat by the window where I could see him and called me while I was outside to talk me through all the procedures. I saw the vet techs and doctors take amazing care of my little guy and was so grateful for the kindness of everyone working there! Sure it was expensive but in my experience no more or less so then other clinics and the service was definitely a cut above the rest. They also provided me with appropriate quotes before and during my visit. Thanks VEG!
I brought my dog in at 7am this morning and was met with extremely pleasant staff who were very responsive to my dogs issue. he had been ejecting fluids from both ends excessively for more than 24hrs and i brought him in to make sure there was nothing more severe that was ailing him. apparently i came in during a shift change but that did not stop the employees efficiency. my dog is generally very anxious with strangers but every. single. one. of the vet techs were kind and gentle & approached my dog with care. Dr Stephanie (the one with eyeglasses) was extremely pleasant to deal with and i appreciate that she explained all of our options prior to service. i wont comment on the financial aspect because i generally assume all vet places are gonna cost regardless, so really you just have to weigh how much you love your pet versus how much you love your money (this should be a no-brainer for real pet owners). That being said, Dr Stephanie did explain how VEG partners with a third party loaner and it is nice to know that patrons have that option if they cannot fulfill the bill upfront. an added bonus is that this site has proper covid-19 accommodations upon entry, theres a hands-free sanitizer pump and a mounted thermometer by the door and they offer masks if you need one. Theres also a snack basket and coffee and stuff by the waiting area, although i did not indulge i appreciated that patrons have the option for that. overall i had a pretty seamless, stress-free experience for this walk-in. big shoutout to the morning team as well as all hands that assisted Dash today.
Wonderful care, friendly staff, and an amazing bedside manner. Our puppy swallowed a battery from a toy and needed an x-ray to determine next steps. Dr Butler, who is so kind and friendly, clearly laid out our options and the associated risks. She and the staff quickly got to work, and our puppy was better in less than an hour. Cannot recommend them highly enough! We are so grateful for their hard work and for the care they showed our puppy!
If you have a sick pet in need of emergency care this is definitely the place you want to take them. Hands down the best emergency veterinary office I have ever been to.Over the weekend one of our cats started developing some pretty concerning symptoms. Her regular vet was completely booked and we could not wait the four days it would be until they could get us in.We are in Queens and had been to this location previously for another issue and had a good experience, so we hopped in an Uber and made our way to Manhattan. As soon as we arrived the vet techs and Veterinarian were on top of the situation. They were all so friendly and kind to us and our precious animal. Our pet was kept overnight for treatment and they were so gentle and sweet. When we picked her up they carefully explained her medications to us and sent our regular vet a summary of the visit. While we were there a few animals were in bad condition and they broke the news to their owners with compassion and understanding. Which is so important during such an emotional and heart breaking moment like that. Our baby Yuffie is doing a million times better and is back to her regular goofy self.Thank you to the entire staff of VEG, you are all A+ humans and skilled and thoughtful professionals.
At check-out, we were not given any instructions. Our cat was quickly given to us while we waited outside with other owners. There were two other parties waiting inside to see the vet. I understand there is capacity constraint because of COVID restrictions but they could have asked the other parties to wait outside while we receive our cat and speak to the technicians about after-checkout instructions. We didnt even have the prescription food that the cat needed and no prescription was given to us. We were told to call the vet when we get home and even when we called the vet, the vet was hurried and did not even tell us how many doses we were to give our cat and for how many days. How could this happen after we paid more than $3000?We and our cat surely deserved 10 mins of their time to get proper instructions. We are never going back again.
Our experience was phenomenal at the Veterinary Emergency Group! Very professional staff all the way around. From Jeremy on intake, who quickly got us in, Kat who immediately put our dog Leila at ease and bonded with her and to Yasmin with a really compassionate demeanor and knowledgeable about handling. Dr. Mildred Camilo was amazing. She was able to quickly assess our dog’s issue and provided utmost care. She had total control over the emergency care for our dog. Shout out to the X-Ray team and Radiology report by Anne Bahr DVM...etcThank you all very much, Leila is doing so much better today because of all your expert care! Thanks again from Lawrence and Christine Vaccari and Leila.
It is rare that I am so impressed with every single aspect of a business but that is really the case with VEG. I called first to see if they could see my cat right away (she had glass in her paw!) and to my surprise, the vet got on the phone with me - that was already a big plus! The office is sparkly clean and so well organized. Everyone from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the vet herself, was amazingly friendly, caring and professional. They took such good care of my cat - I couldnt have asked for anything more. Over the phone, the vet was very upfront about possible fees, laying out the worst-case scenario. Luckily for me, the visit was not very costly, but its good to be prepared! I am happy to recommend VEG to anyone for emergency or regular animal care. They are great!
The folks at VEG saw my sick cat tonight. From start to finish they were super professional and kind, working to keep his stress low while helping him feel better. They took extra steps to make sure he felt comfortable and were very thorough in addressing his stomach upset. Super grateful to Dr. Cheng, Kimmie and Dre.
My wife and I brought in our dog last week who was treated by Dr. Nair. I appreciate that they are not letting people in because I was concerned with social distancing. Our dog hasnt been at the vet in 2 years and we have never needed an emergency facility so this was our first experience. My dog walker had mentioned this place as being the closest wirh the best reviews and I did read the reviews before coming in. She told us he had eaten something on his night walk but didnt know what. When we arrived there were 4-5 people waiting so we stayed off to the corner to not wait in crowd. Despite being very busy our pup was brought in within a few minutes, the doctor came out to talk to us about 45 mins later to provide cost and permission to take xrays and labwork, it is expensive but we have pet insurance for him. Upon watching all that was going on inside it was so nice to see a women holding our scared dog rather than just putting him in a cage. We told her he is very nervous and hasnt been to the vet in years and she reassured us to treat him as her own and she really did. I am very satisfied with the care he received. From start to finish we waited about 4 1/2 hours which is reasonable for an emergency facility. They do only have 1 doctor working as per Dr. Nair so the wait was long.I really think this facility is a god send because where else would I go at 11pm. The people were extremely kind and patient with the animals and with us, we feel like this was a better experience than at the place we bring him for when he needs vaccines Dr. Nair is extremely personalble and professional. The names on the board of who were working are Dr.Nair, Brandon, Jeremy and Sandra. You were all fantastic. I think the lady holding my dog was listed as Sandra the manager because she wasnt in the medical uniform. I will definitely speak highly of this facility as I do business with hundreds of pet related businesses throughout the tri state area. Thank you all again!
VEG is THE PLACE to be in your furry friends time of need. From the initial phone to getting there to the treatment to the checking out, we were beyond satisfied. Our puppy ate a pair of underwear (common I guess lol??), and were told by one vet to induce vomiting on our own with hydrogen peroxide.... NO THANK YOU... So we rushed our girl to VEG. She was taken in immediately - none of the usual emergency vet Oh you have to pay the estimate before treatment. Within 5 minutes she was taken care of, and up come the underwear. Thank you so much VEG for the prompt and fantastic care of Miss Oreo. Much appreciated. God forbid, if anything happens again, we will ONLY return to this emergency vet.
Excellent care, Phenomenal TeamFrom the office Manager Sandra Mullenwho has such commitment and always giving 150% of herself!!!Dr Callahan who explained and cared for my kitten as though it was her own and Veronica taking blood and also gently taking care of my Kitten!I noticed while I was there the carethey gave to the other animals who were there without their ownersthat they did not leave your babies alone at all..constantly monitoring and making them feel loved!!I Loved The Care and Knowledge and will be telling everyone I know with a pet where to Bring themThank you so much!!!Thank God for Wonderful people that devote themselves into their work it shows how much you love animalsSo important in the field you are in!I am forever grateful to ALL OF YOU!!!!Hands down in an Emergency this is where you want to bring your Animals!!!!I can not say in words how overwhelmed I was by this office and team!!!!
Could not more highly recommend the team at VEG. My dog was having GI distress that deteriorated last Friday night, and Drs. Cisneros, Cheng, and the rest of the techs and support staff provided the most professional, compassionate, comprehensive care I could have hoped for.The team were able to triage and provide recommendations over the phone, brought us in quickly when we arrived, and provided clear expert recommendations on what our options were. Previous vets have made it seem like every expense is required to care for your pet, but Dr. Cisneros was clear about which services were most important and when it was an acceptable option to delay or forgoe other treatments.During the course of my visit, the team was also impacted by some security issues. They handled the situation with the utmost calm and professionalism, and I was deeply impressed by the overall management and sense of gravitas throughout the night.Dealing with a pet emergency is such a stressful situation, but as far as Im concerned, this team is the best in the business.
Amazing courteous and Proffesional staff. Christmas morning my 16 year old Bichon needed emergency care. My regular Vet recommended VEG. Virtually no wait. Dr. Short was compassionate, patient, and thorough. She was tested, treated, and home in less than 2 hours. This clinic is a life saver and I trust my dogs care and health to them as much as I do my primary veterinary group of 30 years.
Phenomenal staff! From the reception to everyone who provides help. I went there to take my dog Chloe who was in a more dire situation than initially expected. Dr. Katie O’Hanley gave my dog a spot on diagnosis and I had to leave my dog overnight. The staff encouraged me to call to see how she was doing overnight. They were so reassuring and I was able to stay calm when I came home that night. These people provide world class services and truly love animals!
This emergency vet is great. On Christmas Day they took care of our cat, and given current Covid restrictions, were constantly coming outside to update us and let us know what was happening. The team is kind, sympathetic and attentive. Dr Short was a pleasure to talk to. She was patient and kind with us and our concerns and made sure to get our boy diagnosed and explained everything that was happening. A follow up call to Dr Debricant was met with more patience with our questions and also a pleasure to talk to. Hope to not have any more visits to the emergency vet, but glad to know they are there to help us and our fur babies.
After 15 years I decided to put my Dog to rest. The office staff were very compassionate During the process. The place is clean and they even provide a private room to watch the process. They worked with me via payment.I would Definitely recommend this Hospital to others.Thank you everyone 💓D.PEREZ
This place is the absolute best. High quality care and excellent responsiveness even over the phone. Took very good care of my dog today, kept me in the loop and well informed the whole time, and honestly, for an emergency vet, they really tried to keep costs low for me. I completely trust them and highly recommend their services.
It took me a month to be physically able to write this review. This place was absolutely horrific to bring an emergency pet patient to. The staff was incredibly unprofessional screaming, laughing, joking while my cat was dying. The doctor herself was very professional and kind-hearted (and in no way does this review reflect the doctor herselfs treatment). You could tell she really cared about my cat. The rest of the staff, however, I wouldnt trust with my pet rock. My cat had been sedated from earlier in the day at her vet and the assistant decided to dump her out of her cage. I stopped her and pulled the cat out myself (it required no effort as the cat was sedated and would have been hurt if I allowed the assistant to keep shaking her cage upside down). The assistant proceeded to wrap her in a towel to carry her and then DROPPED her since she didnt get a good enough grip. I cant help but wonder if the treatment by the assistants at this place added to the health issues that caused my beloved cat to pass away, as I am sure being dropped while sedated onto a hard floor could not have helped her heal. I would recommend that anyone who loves their pet stay FAR away from here unless they get an entire new staff.
I’m very appreciative of the staff with dealing with our 3 pets at the same time. They were very busy but made time to see our pets. The only grip I have is that due to corona they had us wait outside. Our dogs are very reactive and a ton of people walk their dogs around that area, some of who are very reactive. I wish they’d put up signs warning people that dogs and cats are going to be waiting outside the building giving people the chance to avoid the front of the building. Other than that I was very thankful and would recommend to anyone dealing with a stressful pet emergency.P.s. the Vet tech was top notch and extremely knowledgeable.
I dont ever care to write reviews. I am compelled, however, to write one for this place. In short: they were tremendous, professional, quick, thorough, and made my wife and I feel comfortable and informed. From the second we walked in (around 6:45pm on a Monday night) no questions were asked (about insurance or billing or anything time consuming)--we were instantly told to follow the nurse and bring our cat to their ER room. The doctor (Dr. Nair) and nurses all immediately surrounded our cat, started caring for him, taking diagnostics, as we explained our cats situation. They calmly squeezed all the information out of us that they needed and quickly continued administering different tests, all the while explaining to us what they were finding and where those results lay in the averages of what they should look like.We were then taken to a room where the doctor explained his findings, his conclusions, our options, the billing (they were very upfront with that for our benefit for decision-making), and the next steps. When we were all said and done and cleared our cat OK to leave, they went over all the information again and made sure everything was crystal clear. Throughout all of this, while my wife and I were very stressed, the staff was incredibly calm, reassuring, and professional. They were very aware to consider our emotional state as well as our cats.We couldnt be happier and more pleasantly surprised with our time there. They were caring and made a very stressful situation as relaxing as possible.THEN the FOLLOWING MORNING when our cat had ANOTHER situation come up, we immediately called the hospital, spoke to Dr. Nair again (7am) and he talked us through the next steps, assessed the situation based on pictures that he had us TEXT to him (of our cat and his situation), and stayed on the phone with us until we were calm and understood everything. The staff at Veterinary Emergency Group not only wonderfully took care of our cat, as is there priority, they took care of us too and kept us as calm as possible.Thank you!!
VEG was a godsend to us on Sunday am. I had called my own Vet in Harlem who does have hours on Sunday, and was told it would be a 2 hour wait even for emergency plus an additional $100. I found VEG and we took our pup in and the staff could not have been nicer. This facility is clean and organized. The reception is courteous and efficient. We saw Dr. Arbona, and she took wonderful care of Roxy. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. We received excellent care. VEG has many locations including White Plains. Roxy is recovering and we are very grateful.
Brought my cat for possible urinary blockage. Ended up not being the case and they ran full blood work & X-ray to see what was wrong. The entire staff was extremely nice. The Dr let me ramble nervously about what could possible be wrong. It’s so comforting to go to a vet or emergency hospital where they understand how deep you care for your pet. Can’t rave enough about the staff- Dr. DeBrincat & Assistant Nicole and front desk staff.
This practice is a godsend. I highly recommend this group and am incredibly grateful they have opened convenient based close to Astoria in Manhattan. The staff are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and efficient. The walk in fee is less than the emergency fee at my regular vet.VEG is open from 6pm to 8am for those of us who work business hours and are faced with an emergency. The facility is spotless and holds all the latest technologies. Blood work is done on sight and you get your results immediately. The vet explained things to me until I understood.Having a sick pet is stressful enough and this group made my experience a thousand time better. I feel confident in their abilities and would give them 100 stars if I could.
This place is for rich people. Was given the option to pay 5k for more testing or giving my cat a shot. Dont go there if you dont have thousands of dollars to save your pet. I remember them saying If you dont make a decision, keeping her here would be cruel to her. That never left my mind. I felt rushed and so poor to save my little girl.
BIG THANKS to Dr Debrincat, Catherine, Matt, Dondre, Vanessa, Josh, Juni and Sandra for the upmost professionalism they showed in helping save my puppy Jack from a bad situation where he swallowed some of my moms meds. I was so scared but I was reassured that he is in good hands. I know this is true as everyone there genuinely loves what they do, they are so kind and treated my puppy like their own. I just can’t put into words how grateful I am for Veterinary Emergency Group. I would 10000% recommend this hospital to everyone when they have an emergency. Yes, emergency care is expensive but they saved my dog’s life and the quality of care they provided was absolutely amazing. Thank you once again for your professionalism and kindness towards my fur baby.
We had the most positive experience with Dr. Austin and the rest of the staff. Our cat Lyra avulsed one of her claws and it was hanging on by a thread. As it was a Sunday, our regular vet was closed so we walked in and were seen immediately - absolutely no wait! They receptionist took our information at the same time Dr. Austin began to examine our kitty. The energy and warm attitude of everyone who helped us was so pleasant in an otherwise distressing situation. Dr. Austin was extremely gentle and informative, giving us all the information and tools to take home to continue treating our cat.Highly highly recommend this place if you need emergency care for your pet. I wish Dr. Austin worked at a regular vet clinic so that we could go to her regularly!
Dr Rey was so patient and compassionate with my Budgie Parrot “Tweetie”. Richard the nurse was so kind & helpful explaining how to use the medication. Lisa and Michelle were also so thoughtful and kind. Yvonne Norman and Tweetie really appreciates your professionalism, generous compassion and assistance.
I cannot speak highly enough about this hospital and the staff. My dog got into something toxic and I was extremely worried. Not only did the vet call me down on the phone call during my ride there, but once we arrived the whole team was ready for us and took amazing care of my puppy. They were friendly, thorough, and kind.Wonderful to know this place is here❤️
Our cat misjudged a jump in our apartment in the very late hours of the night. We could see he was hurt and brought him into the Veterinary Emergency Group. He was taken in right away and the staff worked with incredible efficiency and thoroughness. The facility is clean and well organized. Dr. Austin had a very kind and knowledgeable approach. We had our cat safe and back at home within the hour. Thank you for treating our cat (and us) with such excellent care!
All of the staff at VEG gave me total confidence that my dog would be well cared for medically and emotionally. They clearly love animals. When it was discovered that she needed surgery due to a foreign body in her stomach they communicated well with me so that I knew what was happening throughout the decision to have surgery and gave me an update when it was done. Im so grateful to them!
My dog injured his leg and I was worried that it was broken. Our vets office was closed and hes very young and hasnt had all of his shots yet so I was nervous about bringing him to the emergency room at AMC. He was seen immediately at Veterinary Emergency Group and got very good care. The vet who assessed my dog also emailed a report to Luckys regular vet right away so she can follow up with later to make sure hes healing well, which I really appreciate. I will definitely bring Lucky back if we have any more emergencies in off hours.
Dr Nair and his team were extremely responsive and professional. They took such great care even during a busy part of their night. Everyone made sure that Siegfried and I were comfortable during our whole visit, and the process was smooth from check in, to assessment, to radiologic testing, to diagnosis and treatment. His treatment was explained thoroughly and all questions answered. I left feeling very assured and confident in my cat’s treatment plan. Thank you Dr Nair and team for all that you do!

2022-07-26The people who work here are absolute godsends. Had to bring in my 2 year old cat Taylor for fever, diarrhea, lack of appetite and vomiting caused by GI issues. The doctors and technicians were very patient with my panicked questions, examined her promptly and clearly explained what was going on to me. Taylor was given such good care and she was put on Iv fluids immediately and given nausea and pain medication later. She looked a lot better in 12 hours and continued to do well. I just brought her back home after a solid 24 hours stay and Dr. Nichols said she’d be fine. I am so grateful for the amazing people at VEG and relieved that that she’d make full recovery and has no other issues. Poor baby just needs to be on a special diet. One thing I loved the most is how VEG lets pet parents stay with their babies. I kept going back every few hours to stay with Taylor. One nurse even made a bed for me on the floor at night so I could be close with her. And a very special thanks to Amira who was on late night shift for her incredible kindness and compassion. Everyone who works here genuinely cares for these precious babies and your pet will be in good hands 🙏

2022-06-11Had to rush my cat in after he experienced a severe Saturday early morning seizure. He was admitted instantly and attended to in a calm, professional and kind matter. I was so happy that this time around I had taken a little time to research Emergency vets. The team(s) of Veterinary Emergency Group (I experienced the night and morning shift) where nothing short of amazing. They not only administered the necessary care, but calmly explained the diagnostic and treatment options to me without trying to push unnecessary procedures and test on me. Despite the early hour, the nurses, techs and doctor worked together seamlessly. There was never a delay and always someone attending to us/checking on us.Throughout the stay, I was allowed to stay with my boy to make him as comfortable as possible. I am beyond grateful and recommend this team highly. They made all the difference- thank you!!!!!PS: the cone is off now and he is doing so much better😻

2022-03-29You never want to be at an emergency or anything. However this place took such good care of us everybody was so wonderful and so attentive I would highly recommend going here the place was spotless the staff was amazing. My cat was so nervous he’s a nervous cat anyway but of course when he goes to the vet that’s magnified and here in this picture they wrapped him in a blanket. The Vet who we saw is Dr, Andrea Shilsiberg— She was not only completely attentive to my cat I saw her interacting with the other animals there. She took amazing care of all of them. There was a cat that somebody rescued and she was just hugging it and kissing it and feeding it.

2021-11-30My 18.5 year old cat Bagel hasnt been himself in the last month and last week he was declining quickly. I needed to find an emergency vet ASAP and read reviews on all the ones in UES. I decided to come here. All the staff were friendly and super supportive last Wednesday when I took Bagel in to get checked. I did not receive great news that day and the vet (who was amazing!) said shed be supportive of whatever I wanted to do whether additional testing to find out more or if i wanted to understand their euthanasia process. She did give Bagel an ultrasound and thats when we discovered, that would indicate a mass and potentially assumed lymphoma. I was not prepared to euthanize him that very moment and asked if I could take a day or two to spend more time with him but thatd Id make a decision very soon. She did say not to take too long. Unfortunately, Bagel and his body made the decision the following afternoon and he passed on his own on Thursday 😭. I brought him back in immediately and again the staff showed so much empathy, sympathy and support. I choice to get a personal cremation as Bagel meant so much to me, he was my child... my baby... my little man and I want to ensure I got a part of him back. RIP Bagel and thank you VEG for helping me through this difficult process.

2022-07-20When my 9 month old baby accidentally ingested 200 doses of my albuterol inhaler, I was an emotional hot mess. Upon arriving at VEG, they took Otto immediately & promptly addressed his care. We ended up having to stay the night and as I didn’t want to leave him, & they helped me set up a comfortable spot on the floor to hold him all night. All of the staff was attentive, kind, and gave so much love to all of the animals. I highly recommend taking your pup or cat here if you have an emergency!

2022-03-22The doctors and staff at VEG went above and beyond to treat my elderly poodle last Friday evening. Dr. Reilly promptly diagnosed and addressed the issue and I am happy to say that my poodle is feeling all better, three days later. It’s nice to know I can rely on VEG to take care of my girl, if needed in the future.

2022-01-02I cant express how grateful I am for the staff here. I apologize I dont remember everyones name. My rabbit had an injury and went into bunny shock, which I had never experienced before and was terrifying. At 5am I called and one of the staff members who I believe was a nurse picked up and immediately asked the doctor if she was comfortable with rabbits, which she was. I actually called two other emergency vets and they both werent enthusiastic about seeing a bunny. I was seen immediately when I got in. The entire staff was amazing and calming. Dr. Cheng was a god-send. Super reassuring, but also someone I felt that if my rabbit wasnt getting better, shed know what to do. They took his temperature, did a physical exam, watched him hop around a bit, and educated me about what happened and what to do if it happens again. Below is a picture of him hopping around under their Christmas tree. Hes already doing much better, started eating again, and doesnt seem as scared. I am so grateful for this team and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone and everyone.

2022-03-13Cannot say enough great things about this emergency vet! Found a chewed up battery from my recently rescued pup, Sadie. It was a Saturday at 8:30PM and everywhere around me was closed but I found this place not too too far from me! They were immediately helpful, attentive, and caring. The front desk was so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Rey was informative and reassuring. Prices seemed reasonable for an emergency vet and honestly worth it for the care we received and the informative follow up email! They also called to check up on how she was doing and reassured to call any time of the day if we needed anything. Thank you so much!

2022-03-02This is the best emergency veterinary around.Ive been here with both my dog and my cat in separate occasions, and both times Ive had very good experiences. They let you be with your pet at all times, making sure you are there for them and so you see how they are doing. In other places Ive been to you give your pet away and have to just wait for updates every few hours. The staff is amazing, from the vets, the techs and the front desk people. They all actually care and gave a very human approach to help us through a difficult time. They saved my cats life this weekend, and they did it while being empathetic and caring.

2022-08-09I am eternally grateful to the entire team and doctors at the UES VEG. We came in at nearly midnight, I was uncertain but I knew something was wrong with my baby claxton. The sweetest receptionist immediately checked us in and before I could even sit to wait, we were whisked into the back by the wonderful nurse for immediate care and treatment. After a few easy questions and testing, we made the next best decision, emergency surgery. Dr. Nick Bailey was absolutely amazing, he showed patience, and sympathy, and also kept us informed every step of the way. I could not imagine being too far, so we slept in our car across the street until surgery was over and we got the call to come in and check on our little guy. Our baby Claxton was able to stay another night for observation and Dr. Bailey gave me the call the next morning, giving me the green light that I could come to pick him up.During my time there, midnight until about 5am, I witnessed everyone show so much love and attention to every emergency that walked through the doors. It was so heartwarming and relieving to my soul to see a team come together to support each other and the pet owners.I wish I could remember everyone’s names but that Saturday night team was top notch!I hope to never have another emergency like this one, but if my fur-babies are ever in need, I know that this will be my go to place.
