The people who work here are absolute godsends. Had to bring in my 2 year old cat Taylor for fever, diarrhea, lack of appetite and vomiting caused by GI issues. The doctors and technicians were very patient with my panicked questions, examined her promptly and clearly explained what was going on to me. Taylor was given such good care and she was put on Iv fluids immediately and given nausea and pain medication later. She looked a lot better in 12 hours and continued to do well. I just brought her back home after a solid 24 hours stay and Dr. Nichols said she’d be fine. I am so grateful for the amazing people at VEG and relieved that that she’d make full recovery and has no other issues. Poor baby just needs to be on a special diet. One thing I loved the most is how VEG lets pet parents stay with their babies. I kept going back every few hours to stay with Taylor. One nurse even made a bed for me on the floor at night so I could be close with her. And a very special thanks to Amira who was on late night shift for her incredible kindness and compassion. Everyone who works here genuinely cares for these precious babies and your pet will be in good hands 🙏

Had to rush my cat in after he experienced a severe Saturday early morning seizure. He was admitted instantly and attended to in a calm, professional and kind matter. I was so happy that this time around I had taken a little time to research Emergency vets. The team(s) of Veterinary Emergency Group (I experienced the night and morning shift) where nothing short of amazing. They not only administered the necessary care, but calmly explained the diagnostic and treatment options to me without trying to push unnecessary procedures and test on me. Despite the early hour, the nurses, techs and doctor worked together seamlessly. There was never a delay and always someone attending to us/checking on us.Throughout the stay, I was allowed to stay with my boy to make him as comfortable as possible. I am beyond grateful and recommend this team highly. They made all the difference- thank you!!!!!PS: the cone is off now and he is doing so much better😻

You never want to be at an emergency or anything. However this place took such good care of us everybody was so wonderful and so attentive I would highly recommend going here the place was spotless the staff was amazing. My cat was so nervous he’s a nervous cat anyway but of course when he goes to the vet that’s magnified and here in this picture they wrapped him in a blanket. The Vet who we saw is Dr, Andrea Shilsiberg— She was not only completely attentive to my cat I saw her interacting with the other animals there. She took amazing care of all of them. There was a cat that somebody rescued and she was just hugging it and kissing it and feeding it.

My 18.5 year old cat Bagel hasnt been himself in the last month and last week he was declining quickly. I needed to find an emergency vet ASAP and read reviews on all the ones in UES. I decided to come here. All the staff were friendly and super supportive last Wednesday when I took Bagel in to get checked. I did not receive great news that day and the vet (who was amazing!) said shed be supportive of whatever I wanted to do whether additional testing to find out more or if i wanted to understand their euthanasia process. She did give Bagel an ultrasound and thats when we discovered, that would indicate a mass and potentially assumed lymphoma. I was not prepared to euthanize him that very moment and asked if I could take a day or two to spend more time with him but thatd Id make a decision very soon. She did say not to take too long. Unfortunately, Bagel and his body made the decision the following afternoon and he passed on his own on Thursday 😭. I brought him back in immediately and again the staff showed so much empathy, sympathy and support. I choice to get a personal cremation as Bagel meant so much to me, he was my child... my baby... my little man and I want to ensure I got a part of him back. RIP Bagel and thank you VEG for helping me through this difficult process.

When my 9 month old baby accidentally ingested 200 doses of my albuterol inhaler, I was an emotional hot mess. Upon arriving at VEG, they took Otto immediately & promptly addressed his care. We ended up having to stay the night and as I didn’t want to leave him, & they helped me set up a comfortable spot on the floor to hold him all night. All of the staff was attentive, kind, and gave so much love to all of the animals. I highly recommend taking your pup or cat here if you have an emergency!

The doctors and staff at VEG went above and beyond to treat my elderly poodle last Friday evening. Dr. Reilly promptly diagnosed and addressed the issue and I am happy to say that my poodle is feeling all better, three days later. It’s nice to know I can rely on VEG to take care of my girl, if needed in the future.

I cant express how grateful I am for the staff here. I apologize I dont remember everyones name. My rabbit had an injury and went into bunny shock, which I had never experienced before and was terrifying. At 5am I called and one of the staff members who I believe was a nurse picked up and immediately asked the doctor if she was comfortable with rabbits, which she was. I actually called two other emergency vets and they both werent enthusiastic about seeing a bunny. I was seen immediately when I got in. The entire staff was amazing and calming. Dr. Cheng was a god-send. Super reassuring, but also someone I felt that if my rabbit wasnt getting better, shed know what to do. They took his temperature, did a physical exam, watched him hop around a bit, and educated me about what happened and what to do if it happens again. Below is a picture of him hopping around under their Christmas tree. Hes already doing much better, started eating again, and doesnt seem as scared. I am so grateful for this team and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone and everyone.

Cannot say enough great things about this emergency vet! Found a chewed up battery from my recently rescued pup, Sadie. It was a Saturday at 8:30PM and everywhere around me was closed but I found this place not too too far from me! They were immediately helpful, attentive, and caring. The front desk was so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Rey was informative and reassuring. Prices seemed reasonable for an emergency vet and honestly worth it for the care we received and the informative follow up email! They also called to check up on how she was doing and reassured to call any time of the day if we needed anything. Thank you so much!

This is the best emergency veterinary around.Ive been here with both my dog and my cat in separate occasions, and both times Ive had very good experiences. They let you be with your pet at all times, making sure you are there for them and so you see how they are doing. In other places Ive been to you give your pet away and have to just wait for updates every few hours. The staff is amazing, from the vets, the techs and the front desk people. They all actually care and gave a very human approach to help us through a difficult time. They saved my cats life this weekend, and they did it while being empathetic and caring.

I am eternally grateful to the entire team and doctors at the UES VEG. We came in at nearly midnight, I was uncertain but I knew something was wrong with my baby claxton. The sweetest receptionist immediately checked us in and before I could even sit to wait, we were whisked into the back by the wonderful nurse for immediate care and treatment. After a few easy questions and testing, we made the next best decision, emergency surgery. Dr. Nick Bailey was absolutely amazing, he showed patience, and sympathy, and also kept us informed every step of the way. I could not imagine being too far, so we slept in our car across the street until surgery was over and we got the call to come in and check on our little guy. Our baby Claxton was able to stay another night for observation and Dr. Bailey gave me the call the next morning, giving me the green light that I could come to pick him up.During my time there, midnight until about 5am, I witnessed everyone show so much love and attention to every emergency that walked through the doors. It was so heartwarming and relieving to my soul to see a team come together to support each other and the pet owners.I wish I could remember everyone’s names but that Saturday night team was top notch!I hope to never have another emergency like this one, but if my fur-babies are ever in need, I know that this will be my go to place.
