A scenic park with views of the bridge. Family friendly and lots of benches to sit. Clean and easy to get to front the Metro-North Poughkeepsie station. It’s a nice park for a nice stroll in the fall with some foliage.
This park has the potential to offer a more pleasant experience than it currently does. The City of Poughkeepsie needs to do a better job maintaining the benches, sidewalks, and greenery. The skatepark needs maintenance. The views of the Hudson River, Walkway, and Mid-Hudson bridge are beautiful. There is plenty of available parking and the park is close to many restaurants.
Beautiful park, the stretch was little short but yet breath-taking. I jogged to the Mid-Hudson Bridge all alone, it was very nice.
Riverfest 2021 was fun. Not crowded on Sunday.
Nice little park to enjoy the nice views.Bring the kids as theres a nice play structure. Walk along the Hudson.A couple nice restaurants but they are a little pricey and not real kid friendly.Small parking lot but people come and go often so you should be able to get a spot.
One of my favorite spots to just sit and enjoy the views on the Hudson. Plenty of seats/benches available. Theres a very good playground for kids. Restaurants bars and pubs nearby.

Great views of The Walkway north and Poughkeepsie Highland bridge south. Picnic and fishing, will be crowded on nice days.
Great riverfront park, and home of the annual Guelaguetza, a Oaxacan festival.Great food stands. Dont forget to bring your own utensils, refillable bottle of water, and a picnic blanket.
A beautiful park, thats kept fairly well. The Ice House is a great restaurant nearby. Right on the waterfront.
I tried going for a walk with my dogs. I parked closer to the skateboarding section. There were questionable men, just sitting in their cars @ 1:00 p.m. 5 min in, and I was out of there...quickky!

Cute little park and nice dock for your boat after you launch. The launch is great at high tide and a nightmare at low tide. The rocks at the bottom of the ramp are treacherous and makes it almost impossible to load your boat! In one hours time I watched 2 trashed props and a trashed impeller on a jet ski!!! Stay away at anything less than 1/2 tide!!
The Victor C. Waryas Park is a gem to Poughkeepsie. This is one of the first parks I visited when I came to Poughkeepsie. Unlike other places in the area, this locations is beautiful to visit in the morning, noon, or at night. In the morning you can go on a stroll and enjoy the sunrise 🌅. In the afternoon, you could have a cookout with some family and friends by one of the benches/tables. At night, you could go on a romantic walk or a walk to reminiscence the day. Just be careful if you decide to walk at night as it could be a bit lonely.This park is beautiful mainly because of the view of the Hudson River and mountains that line Ulster County. You see people on jet skis and boats, people fishing, and families having a great time.
Nice view as the sun sets. Peaceful with people out enjoying the weather young and old. Forty years have gone by with memories when I use to take my children to this park. Barbecues, events and just having fun, now it is only me. I still enjoy visiting the park and now I get a chance to go to the walk way.

Beautiful place to stop and get fresh air, just sitting near the river is refreshing only parking is not available, saturday full of cars.
My kids liked the park but a little boy peed on a slide. The mom was on the other side of the park and he acted like he didnt do it and told him to get his mom and she gave me attitude for telling him that it wasnt right and for the fact I made him get her!
So beautiful and peaceful. They really should install a bathroom. I would spend more time there. At the time of pandemic closings (2020-current) the only bathroom, other than occasional porta potties 🤢, was in back of the restaurant. No longer open since restaurant has been closed..

Great views and a great walk along the river. Worth the trip to visit ir if youre in town and have an hour to spare. The night views of the Mid Hudson Bridge are phenomenal. The bridge puts on a light show every evening in varying colors. To the north is the famous Walkway over the Hudson Bridge.
Theres a new little free library in the park which is really great to see. The bathrooms were closed and its the middle of summer on a weekend.

Love this park. The view of both bridges is spectacular! Has a few restaurants, which are pretty good. A place for kids to play and plenty of park benches to people watch. Very popular in the summer months
A nice place for visiting the Hudson River water edge. Many fun and cultural events there. Good picnic and bbq spot. Feels safe and kept relatively clean. Right behind the train station area.

You simply cant beat the river view and walkways, but the playgrounds are a magnet for some unsavory types, mostly homeless people in the morning or evening hours. I wish they would police that a little better otherwise a very scenic and enjoyable place.

Loved the Discovery Hudson Valley Bike Tour. Views were Amazing and RIDING over that Bridge was spectacular. 1st time across it, you can see far and wide. Loved it, going next year.
The park has stepped up a lot its really nice especially with the walkway open now is beautiful even in the winter time despite the pollution in the river what is a great place to go with family and have Gatherings outside of the pandemic but if youre in the area I suggest that you go and just chill out and look out on the water in the scenery is beautiful.
Ive been going since I was a child, and I still love this place. They def need to revamp the playground, and swings. I am happy that they did add an additional playground. All and all I love it here!

This park has a free, public boat ramp so you can put your small to medium sized water crafts into the Hudson. There is a limited amount of parking but they do have long spots for automobiles with trailers attached.
Wow, got there about 12pm. So nice and serene. Some man was playing old school that took me way back.. really enjoyed my visit there
This area has come along way from years ago when it was undeveloped. Glad to see a place where families can come and spend quality time together.

I stopped here to take some pictures of the bridges while visiting Poughkeepsie last week. Parking was not an issue, there were plenty of spaces.
It was nice. Had hotdogs and shrimp on the grill for individuals at work. It was spur of the moment and it turned out to be nice. EVERYTHING was GREAT.

This is a neat little area right in the very bottom of Main Street on the Hudson. I like how theres events here occasionally and the view is great!

2017-09-23Always clean and pretty...My husband and I live just up the hill on Main Street, and taking our kayak out on the river from the Waryas boatlaunch creates the illusion were actually on vacation. The parking lot is a little small, but the bathrooms are clean. Great overall!
