I really really enjoyed my first shredded chicken in beef broth soup. Totally delicious and plentiful. I also got green tea lemonade. I wanted more of it. If youre thinking about getting the small lemonade, get the medium its 50c more and worth it. There were plenty of people there but it didnt feel crowded. I didnt finish my soup and you can ask them for to-go container. Will go back tomorrow.
My go to Vietnamese spot in BrooklynSimple, no frills - what’s good? Pho (they have beef, pork, chicken & vegetarian pork and vegetarian chicken) & Vietnamese sandwich - my fav is the classic Vietnamese sandwich ($7.25) & the beef pho ($9.50) 🍲Green tea bubble tea iced (small $3.75, med $4.25) is great or their Vietnamese coffee (love the condensed milk in it) with bubbles
I love their Bubble tea and Vermicelli Salad. You can tell them how sweet you want the tea. If you dont have sweet tooth the no sweet version is what you should orderTheir Rice Vermicelli Salad has a very well balance of sour and sweet. It is very refreshing and light.
Everything are above average, service is nice and fast, also have a website that you can order online. As a fast food stop, their pho may not be complete(no tendon, meatball or strip) but are decent. Bubble tea are pretty good. I love their vermicelli, it’s delicious and easy to take out.
Honestly the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. The pho and banh mi aren’t nearly as good anywhere else. The bubble tea is also fantastic and there are dozens of options. Whenever I order delivery it arrives incredibly quickly. On top of all of this, Hanco’s has some of the best vegetarian fake meat options by far. I would recommend this restaurant for anything from a quick bite to a sit down meal.
Overall great lunch spot. The food is well priced and consistently delicious. My only minor criticism is that during the lunch slam, they can take a little long to get you in and out. Just getting a sandwich can take 25 minutes when they are really busy. Other than that, great place.
Very solid Vietnamese food here with that hipster vibe. The food is very good but I wouldnt call it great. If I crave a decent Pho or Bahn Mi sandwich Id come here but if I want something top notch Id hop on the train into Chinatown. The pricing is expensive but I do take into account the area its in. It does get crowded here at night for the dinner rush so sometimes even ordering takeout can be a bit of a wait.
This is a great vietnamese spot. Delicious food, cute and clean restaurant, and pleasant service. I would highly recommend the grilled pork sandwich. It is amazing, and a go to lunch or dinner option. The pork is delicious, the carrots, cucumbers, and radishes (which I normally do not like) are surprisingly tasty, and add a nice crunch, and the cilantro adds a cool, and refreshing bite. Another one of my favorites is the grilled pork noodle soup. Ive heard the bubble tea is also great, though I havent tried it myself. I hope you enjoy the outstanding restaurant.
This is a neighbourhood gem that I frequent or order from regularly. Their beef pho is delicious and fresh and comforting. Additionally, I can never resist an extra order of fresh summer rolls. The banh mi are also very good and when I occasionally order them, the meat seems hot off the grill, and the vegetables fresh.
I love Hancos!! Great food and fun drinks! Def try one of their specialty drinks if you’ve never had boba or aloe drinks. They do them well. My favorite here is the shrimp pho while my boyfriend loves their Vietnamese sandwich. Anything you order here will be delicious and there’s almost always a place to sit.
The pho noodles are a bit too gellatin. Im use to noodles are more firm. The broth was ordinary. 3/5The sandwich was ordinary. I didnt like the todays bread. They either use stale break or over toast it because the bread was hard and difficulty to enjoy as a sandwich. 3/5The dishes were not as good as I hope. Im Vietnamese and I consider Vietnamese food as my favorite.
This restaurant is a marvel of efficiency and wonderful to watch. The servers, kitchen staff and delivery people are all buzzing in harmony. Within minutes of ordering, my pork buncha appeared fresh from the kitchen. I live a 15 min walk away and hope they continue to prosper and one day open a new branch in park slope! Theres Chipotle level potential here if they keep up their excellence.
Eat healthy, eat at Hancos. Small space but that shredded chicken sandwich calls my name. Great sandwich. May make your place smell like hell but the taste is heavenly. A large drink in this place is a small, every where else. Grab a fresh lemonade with that shredded chicken sandwich and you are done for the day. Thank you Hanco!
I’ve tried this place a couple times each time seamed to be worst than the next.1 time-good broth boring but still better then most pho in Manhattan and close to my work2 time- hair I pho3rd- banh mi sandwich, the traditional pork. It had a lot of good vegetables but the meat had to much of an seasoned porky taste that is unappetizing.4th- I realized what I should have realized all a long. The broth is way to boring and the portions are way to small for $10 pho, they don’t give you much noodles or broth they also don’t have tripe. What they make coast no more then $3 In Materials. They are jacking up the price because it is a hipster neighborhood, hipster don’t really care about food nor do they no good Vietnamese food.It is sad when people realize how to take advantage of people and then choose to do so. Greed is a very powerful thing.I will not be going back to hanco’s
Salad is fresh and delicious (get it with grilled chicken), the banh mi are tasty (I like Classic or Shredded Chicken, extra spicy). I'm not into bubble tea, personally, but I like the Vietnamese coffee. Delivery can be slow sometimes but the delivery guys are super nice.
Hancos, back at it again! This is the location closest to my apartment, so I come here the most often. Its the same good menu as the other two, I usually get a veggie pork banh mi with an iced Vietnamese coffee and doing so keeps me very happy. This location is right next to the Bergen FG stop, so if youre coming from north east Brooklyn or the LES its probably the best Hancos for you. This location is also around the corner from the tiny store front that Hancos started in, which I miss because it was cluttered and romantic but at least the new places and the renovations symbolize the good success theyve had. (:
I ordered grilled chicken banh mi (ordered it spicy) and summer rolls, with a green tea lemonade. The banh mi was better or as good as any Ive had. They added jalapeño slices to make it spicy but still needed sriracha. The size was wholesome. This was the first time I had summer rolls so I cant compare, but they were good, minty and light. The peanut dipping sauce was necessary if you want strong flavor. The green tea lemonade was really good, had some kind of basil or mint taste in it.Overall Ill come here again.
We always ordered 2 Beef Pho noodles basically. At the first time, there were lots of beef meats and tendons (especially tendons were 4-5 pieces for 1) so we ordered 2nd time, too. However, there were no tendons for 1 person’s. Nothing of tendons really!!! Also, 2 of 2 noodles had only 2 pieces tenders. We thought they just made a mistake so we ordered 2 beef noodles this 3rd time with 1 EXTRA mains(beef and tendons) but there were ONLY 1 piece of tendon and few more of just beef meats for both. How it can be same that ‘regular’ and ‘extra’ had same only 1 piece of tendon??? We paid more mains for extra!!! How can they explain it? This is not the accident, right?? They just welcome to 1st time.
Cheap delicious banh mi and pho with pretty good quality. Bubble tea, vermicelli, and rice too. Most of the staff speak English and Cantonese. Get the grilled pork banh mi or the beef pho if youre new. Bubble tea is powdered but will do in a pinch. Everything is under $12 on the menu.
One of the only bahnmi places I could find near Brooklyn Heights, I had to try this place. I had the regular bahnmi sandwich with the taro milk boboa tea. Nothing to complain about the food. Ive had better at Chelsea market, but this is a nice place to stop by and enjoy lunch
Hancos has relocated to 134 Smith Street and this is a review for that location since I couldnt find its new profile. I ordered a beef pho to go and the portions were a bit imbalanced. There was hardly any pho but I have to give them props that there was a good amount of beef slices in there. I like how they put red onions in the mix which is a first that I have seen at a pho place. It adds a nice zing to the dish and the broth was decent. I prefer Nickys Vietnamese at nearby Atlantic Ave for their broth but Hancos version did taste lighter and healthier. I love pho and thought it was decent. Just wish it didnt cost almost $10 for it.
Love the food here especially during winter when u want something soupy and hot..if not settle the sandwich here which is always prepared when u order it and the bun is so crispy and the meat is hot as well.i also liked the vermicelli with meat of ur choice which is not oily but substantial and all prices are abt 10-12 US and not forgetting the bubble tea as well...

2022-01-12Quick service and pleasant staff. They accept cards and you can dine in with proof of vax. Masks when ordering! I liked the meat in the classic sandwich but it didn’t stand out. Nothing was bad, I would definitely come here again I just don’t know if I would go out of my way to go back unless I’m walking by.

2022-01-21Not worth the price. I ordered the shrimp rice and it only came with no more than 6 shrimps. They cut it in half to make it looks like they give a lot of shrimps. I paid like 12 dollars not for lots of salads. I ordered shrimp rices, not just salad. The broth of the pho is tasty but could be better.

2022-06-18Overall very good banh mi sandwiches, and great vegetarian options. Really, really delicious bread. Our sandwiches (the vegetarian chicken and vegetarian pork) could have used more cilantro. Also, they asked spice level, and we requested medium for the veggie pork and very hot for the veggie chicken. The latter was a little hotter (maybe a few more jalapeno slices and a little more spicy mayo), but I was hoping for more heat. The vegetarian pork itself was really good and well flavored. The vegetarian chicken was good too. Ill be back for the tofu banh mi next time!

2022-04-09The Hancos Brooklyn restaurant serves up some quite tasty Pho. We ordered the Chicken Broth with grilled chicken and the Beef Broth with beef. Service was fairly quick. The inside dine in seating is limited but take out was the majority choice while we were there.

2021-10-30I got the Shredded Chicken sandwich because it comes with white meat. I, also got it mild (choice reg, mild, spicy). The sandwich was good. However, the staff could be a bit more friendly.

2021-12-29We got the beef and shrimp pho. It wasnt the most amazing broth but was still tasty. They gave me plenty of shrimp on the side.

2022-03-28I went here for a catering order for a party and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Everything was handled through email and the owner was thoughtful, communicative, flexible, and was considerate of all of my guests dietary requirements. The delivery was on time and warm, too. If youre throwing a party, just let these guys know. Banh mi makes for great party food!

2022-06-19Love their tofu Bahn Mi (medium spicy) for an easy lunch to eat in the park. Their coconut bubble tea is also fantastic and has a refreshing lightly sweet coconut flavor.

2022-03-02The BEST tofu bahn mi, anywhere. Have to stop by at least once a week. The tofu is SOFT (not fried or firm) and melts in with the bread & sriracha, and combined with the toppings is just amazing, taste as well as texturally. A+ (Its addicting).
