Mia, Joe, and the rest of the vigilante team did an outstanding job replacing my water heater in record time! I called him at 2 PM and they were done by 5:30 PM. That included coming out to obtain the details, getting the water heater, coming back and installing it, then testing it thoroughly. And, they were all very friendly and considerate
Mark and Wes were exceptionally professional 👏 and highly knowledgeable. They answered all our questions and addressed our concerns. They displayed an exceptional service delivery attitude demonstrated that they appreciated and valued our patronage. If you have an award or reward program. They should win first second and third prize.
Mike is a gem! I’ve had many plumbers come to my home to try and fix an issue with my steam heat. Mike from Vigilante is the only one who offered a solution. He’s very knowledgeable, professional, patient, and took the time to explain my options. Great experience with Vigilante!
Vigilante Plumbing, Heating & AC is my Go To company. I had a complicated issue with my sewer line -- connected to the neighbor sewer line (basically a shared line) and Vigilante was able to determine the configuration of the old sewer line connections. Rafael was knowledgeable, efficient and nice. I am on my way to a separate sewer line (and Im happy about it). My neighbor is also happy the shared connection issue will get resolved. Their prices are fair. They are trust worthy. Look no further. Vigilante is the plumbing company to use, always.
The gentlemen were professional and went straight to work. I hadnt been prepared for an installation the first day but they came with all we needed to do the job and I was quite happy that it could be taken care of immediately. Kevin helped clean the kitchen faucet due to the sediment expelled on the initial turn on.We discussed prices, different heaters and volumes for a house my size. He was pleasant and I Would say all went very well.
Vigilante were really great to deal with. Professional but with a personal touch. We had to deal with some issues (that were of no fault of Vigilante) and they were super responsive, helpful and basically bent themselves out of shape to get everything resolved satisfactorily, for which I am very grateful. I recommend these guys very strongly and would definitely use them again next time.
Vigilante is not cheap but when you get satisfactory service for the money it makes handing over the cash a little less painful. This was the case for my husband and I thanks to the stellar job done by Denton, one of Vigilante’s ace workers. He was extremely professional and respectful. He determined what the problem was with our boiler and resolved it quickly and efficiently. We wouldn’t hesitate to ask specifically for him should there be a need to use Vigilante down the road.
Mr. Nunez was courteous, friendly and explained clearly and in detail what was wrong and how he fixed the problem. He was also properly masked!Mr. Broza listened attentively and didnt dismiss what we explained about the problem, though it took a long time for our heat to kick in, allowing him to find and repair the leak in the radiator pipe.
Incredibly impressed. My first time calling Vigilante -- I saw their van around my neighborhood and when my heater broke I called them. Denton was an absolute pro. On time, fantastic communication, fixed my problem and guided me on how to prevent it in the future. Would absolutely be my first call in the future.
Immediately after an annual servicing of 2 boilers by Vigilante, the system shut down and left 2 families with young children and babies without heat or hot water. I was told by Vigilante it would take 5 days for a repairman to come and fix the problem that they had most likely caused.I hired Vigilante ,as I have in the past, because they are able to come quickly in emergency situations like no heat on a cold day. I pay them a fairly high fee ($863 for this annual maintenance of 2 boilers both in the same building-1 hours work) because I expect good and fast service if something goes wrong. After my equipment was serviced my tenants called to say they didnt have heat of hot water. I called Vigilante on Friday night and was told they couldnt get anyone to me until Wednesday. I find this an outrageous lapse in their responsibility to a long time client. This boiler has been working fine until it was serviced and yet they decided to take on other projects before dealing with an issue that they had caused.I ended up hiring another company to make the repair as I couldnt leave my tenants without heat of hot water for 5 days. Turns out the pilot light was out, either it had blown out when the servicing was done or never been re-lit. Either way Vigilante had the responsibility to immediately deal with the problem and they didnt. I will never use them again.
So far in our experience with Vigilante, the plumbers have offered important suggestions to improve or protect our house. These were not just to drum up business, but suggestions backed up by government websites or even done free of charge, like tagging all the gas and water shut-off valves. In addition, they not only cleaned up both before and after working, but did things like making sure the washing machine was properly leveled before the left. We’re really happy to have found them.
Scam artists. Called for an issue with no heat and giving me a estimate of over THOUSANDS of dollars, I told them to take a walk. Called my heating tech support, my issue was covered under warranty just needed to pay labor. I called another company and the labor was minimal saving me THOUSANDS OF dollars had I listened to Vigilante, I would still be without heat and money
I called Vigilante Plumbing again because a heating pipe sprung a leak. The service repair person Josh was awesome. He took his time to inspect the pipe and surrounding areas and provided a reasonable quote. He and his helper were professional and cordial, and they cleaned up their workspace afterwards. This is big plus in my book. Josh and his helper have a real commitment to the plumbing profession and they show it by doing excellent work.
My hot water heater started leaking. I tried several other emergencyservices and they were unresponsive.I had used Vigilante several times in the past and called them. They came out the same day and gave me an estimate. They returned today to install a new hot water heater.I am very pleased with the courteous and professional demeanorof the servicemen who came out to do the job. The finishedquickly and I am so pleased to have hot water again. Also pleased to know that this local business is truly my bestbet in the future for all my plumbing needs.
We were concerned about getting through this upcoming heating season with our 30 year-old gas boiler. Having a service arrangement with Vigilante Plumbing is good, and Manny the technician was wonderful. He did a thorough inspection and evaluation of our system and explained potential problems and discounts offered by the company. Manny demonstrated expertise in all aspects of our system and made sure that it was working well. I highly recommend Manny from Vigilante Plumbing.
I have always had the BEST experiences with Vigilante and today was no different. Mike was so obviously knowledgeable and cared about what was best for us, as homeowners, not trying to upsell or make the most money for himself. He gave us a very clear description of our options and offered to describe, in detail, the solution to our problem to the roofer he recommended. I just felt so well taken care of. Absolutely a straight shooter. The peace of mind that comes from trusting this company is invaluable.
Rafael and his coworker were on time, professional, COVID SAFE, and gave me multiple options on how to fix the pipe. After he gave his expert opinion, they quickly fixed the broken pipe. They were in and out in less than an hour. I can’t tell you how amazing the service was. We’ve used them for our hot water heater as well. Definitely our go to for all plumbing needs. Thank you
The nicest and most honest plumbers around! Every experience Ive had with them has just been super pleasant, which means a lot.We worked with Frank for this last job (fixing our very old radiators). Not only is he really nice, he is also very honest. He was upfront about what we can try and what ultimately will need to happen, but I never felt pressure either way.Their work is great start to finish. They even take care to clean up! Which seems so basic, but is just a really nice touch.
Manny from Vigilante was extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and thorough. He spent a long time inspecting our system so we could sign on for a long-term service contract. He serviced the heater and gave me a lot of confidence that Vigilante is going to be our service provider for a the long haul. If everyone in the Vigilante family is as good as Manny, then I know Im in good hands.
Vigilante replaced old control valves for my hot and cold water in my kitchen and bathroom.prices are reasonable and they do excellent work.i would also like to give further praise with respect to the professional and most importantly knowledgeable technician that came to my building for two different jobs. You can ask Vigilante who it was
Our experience with Vigilante today was excellent, from the initial phone call to the successful completion of the job. Our handyman could not unclog our kitchen sink so we reached out to professionals. Manny and his apprentice were professional and knowledgeable and patiently explained what needed to be done. They worked carefully with our old pipes and everything works great now! Thank you very much to everyone on the team! We know who to call when we need plumbing/AC work done in the future.
We have been using Vigilante for a few years now. They treat you with 100% attention no matter whether you call for a minor job or big job and it begins with the friendly voice when you first call. You always receive Quality. Which is superior, every tech is nicer than the next. We love vigilante and you will too
I called to help with a small but very important plumbing issue. The staff on the phone was attentive and courteous and was able to get me an immediate appointment. I was kept apprised of who the tech was and when he would arrive. The tech, Rafael, was more than competent and took care of the issue and most importantly was one of the nicest people I have had in my home. Safety and cleanliness were also of utmost importance. Will definitely call again for plumbing and ac needs!
With the recent hurricane which affected NY, we needed Vigilante to come in and review our HVAC system to ensure all was OK and ready for the winter. We purchased the system from Vigilante. We were unable to be at the premises at the time of the appointment so we asked our friend to meet the technician.Safraz arrived on time and was in constant communication with our friend on arrival time. After the review of the system, Safraz contacted me directly to let me know all was good. I appreciated this so I did not have to contact their office on any findings. This is great service!Vigilante installed our system and has always been professional. Thank you!
Mark and the Vigilante team were great! They were professional, helpful and did a wonderful job replacing our old boiler! I would recommend their services to anyone needing plumbing work going forward and I will definitely give them a call if we ever need any plumbing done in our home again.
We have been using Vigilante probably about 4 years now, they are always professional ( from the person answering the phone and all their techs)and complete their job correctly, the first time. Today Denton and Joe arrived to do our annual check ( a.c., heat and plumbing) fixed an a.c. issue.. both gentleman are awesome! Knowledgeable and courteous. You are always left satisfied and happy. If you are on the fence about calling, dont wait call now.
Vigilante has the best plumbers. Their agents can explain issues clearly and let you know what needs to be done to get the problem fixed. The plumbers are always on time and have a clean and conscientiousness attitude on site. Also more importnaly if the fix is going to be costly I dont feel like they are wasting my time or money. I know its going to be done right the first time. And If youve lived in NYC long enough - you know a plumber like that is a valuable asset. If you want your plumbing issues resolved I always recommend Vigilante.
Peter and Oscar went above and beyond my expectations. I explained to Peter the inconvenience of not having hot water for my elderly mom and he made sure we didn’t have to wait another day. To my surprise, he installed the water heater that same day. He is truly a gem! With technicians like him our city can rely on Vigilante services.
I invariably have prompt and exceptional service from Vigilante Plumbing. Ive been a customer of theirs for 20+ years. Their staff are always courteous, they invariably clean their work areas, and they graciously answer my questions. Frank knows my HVAC system very well which gives me a lot of confidence.
Contacted vigilante ,heating & air conditioningyoung man return my call .sent pictures /receipts/dates /invoice and he told me that they are under new owner ship and wasnt responsible for the work that the guys did under the name of vigilante plumbing ,heating & air conditioning . i asked him so how long was the business vigilante plumbing ,heating & air conditioning . he said for years . i asked him to take a look at the vigilante invoice . and date .they hire young inexperienced guys in the summer .They are terrible and dont stand behind there work .
Called today to have a gas valve installed and two stoves disconnect before replacing. The receptionist answered by asking how could she make me smile today. That made me laugh, it’s like she knew we were stresses trying to find a licensed plumber. We got an appointment for the same day, two guys showed up, professional, wearing mask. We had so much garbage behind the stove. They never made a negative comment. They gave us time to clean up before working behind it. The price was a little pricey but well worth it. We got the job done on the same day. We got what we paid for. Very happy with how things turned out.
Vigilante made it easy to buy the water heater I wanted from Home Depot, and had it installed the same day. Took away the old one. Worked hard in a cramped space. Left behind a clean professional job. Mia was awesome as dispatcher and helped direct me to the models that would work in our low-ceiling cellar.
Vinny just stopped by to give me a estimate for two boilers and Im impressed. He had on his mask and booties. He provided a estimate and break down of what he will do. Im going to go with him. Jose and Oscar installed my boiler and did an amazing job. They were professional, clean and kind. They took their time with the installation and Im happy with my product. I will update once the weather gets cold and the efficiency of the boiler. Thank you
OVERPRICED. Unless they were purposefully overpricing because they didn’t want the job, these guys show up with folders in flashy cars and definitely quote the premium if you use this company. Do yourself a favor and call any other company, I found the best one in queens and got a quote that was honest and 30% the cost of what this company said could be the cost but could increase. The quote was basically a joke in the $15k range for work 3 other companies quoted at $5k, and then said we can’t guarantee we won’t have to charge you $40k. You hear of ppl having nightmare plumbing bills, it’s probably from working with the company- STAY AWAY
Kenny was amazing. He gets the highest level of praise possible. I started a water heater repair journey with a different company that misdiagnosed an issue and charged a lot of money for it. Kenny came on a Friday night (no rush fee and I booked them only hours earlier) and quickly identified the problem and fixed it. The customer service for vigilante was excellent, providing fast answers and the best priced quote I received out of four bids. But to then show up on site and not even ask for money for a quick fix--above and beyond. Rarely do I feel this satisfied with a company doing a home repair. They have secured all my future business.
Kenneth Benjamin and his colleague Mark were very professional, knowledgeable and extremely reliable. Our water tank broke down and it was great to have them to keep us calm in a stressful situation! We use this company to conduct our annual boiler inspections and they are our “go to people” when something breaks down. They are the best in the business.
Vigilante is a family run business and takes their customer service seriously. I’ve found their techs to be reliable and responsible. Joe did the work today and immediately identified and fixed the problem. They’ve installed my furnace and central AC and the prices were reasonable by NYC standards. I would recommend them.
We have dealt with a few plumbers and because we bought a new condo in Brooklyn (don’t buy a new condo in Brooklyn) our plumbing problems seem endless. Rafael was so kind and professional, showed up EARLY which is amazing and unheard of, and made sure that we really understood the situation. I cannot recommend these guys enough, especially after dealing with other people who were nightmares.
Peter did a fantastic job fixing our living room Mitsubishi unit. He found the issue quickly, resolved it, was very informative throughout the process and was pleasant to speak with. He wore a face mask and gloves the entire time (much appreciated) and even put shoe covers on when he came into my home. Id definitely recommend and hire Vigilante again
I called this company to evaluate my commercial AC unit. Although they are pricey I figured they would do a good job. I paid $350 for the evaluation. Joe Vigilante came and advised I needed to change my filters which is fine. He also turned off the breaker on the roof to help the ice defrost from the unit. I had someone change the filters however, called Joe since he turned the breakers off to see if he could turn it back on.( I did not ask him to turn it off) He basically lied and said he did not turn off the breakers only to back track to say he did, and I would have to pay another $350 in order for them to turn the breakers back on. This company is a rip off. I would NOT recommend. Joe is a liar 🤥 and I don’t understand what kind of business they are running.
Vinnie was kind and professional. He was here to consult on a replacement for my faulty ac unit. He took his time with me explaining how my air conditioning options can be more efficient and have better quality output. He also let me know various systems and their pros and cons.I really appreciated his time answering all my questions, no matter how mundane.
The heating system was serviced a short while ago but had not been activated. When I tried to turn on the thermostat I was not able to do so and called for service. Manny came today and he was able to clear up the problem. He was efficient, and most pleasant. An excellent job and a great representative of Vigilante.
Vigilante is an excellent company with pleasant, knowledgeable customer service (Thank you Mia and Jeannie) and very professional service technicians. Kenneth Benjamin and his associate came to assess the situation yesterday, and less than 24 hours later we have a new water heater. The price quoted is the price billed- no surprises. Work was done efficiently and very neatly. I give 10 stars. Thank you!
Rafael and his assistant were right on time and had shoe coverings and masks. They were both very friendly and informative. Rafael, specifically, listened closely to our problems with our sink drains and shower and talked me through exactly what he planned on doing in addition to updates with work that could/needed to be done after the job was started. He was clear about pricing and even introduced me to a partnership program to reward repeat customers. The work was done very well and efficiently, and we are very satisfied with Vigilante’s service (as we have always been in the past)! Thank you!!!
Rafael and his partner came out to assess and provide a quote for the installation of a sump pump in a complex location. He was prompt, incredibly courteous, listened carefully to the situation, provided very helpful advice on the location and installation, and delivered a quote for the work during the appointment. I have had other contractors no-show, take days for a quote, and be generally wishy-washy about this job. Rafael was precise, efficient, and friendly.
Mr. Kenneth Benjamin preformed like a candidate competing for the Guiness book of world records, with competency, speed, and poise. No fuss, like an orchestra conductor. This comment was not solicited.I would gladly recommend Mr. Kenneth Benjamin and his crew member. They represented the company with dignity and poise. I will gladly use their services again. Thanks for the opportunity.Eustace Inglis
Manny was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to have in our home. The entire Vigilante team has come together to help us figure out the best course for replacing our furnace and water tank, which is a huge job and a big financial commitment. Everyone we have dealt with has been professional, responsive, and considerate. This is the third major job weve done with Vigilante. They are the most professional company around. Highly recommend them.
First guy came to do annual maintenance. He was fine, pointed out issue that would need 2-3k repair, suggested one of his colleagues come out and quote brand new system as mine was from 2005 and putting that much money into it might not be worth it. Thought entire replacement might be 6 to 8k.Next guy comes out, didnt read the file, didnt know what was going on. I explained what first guy did and said. He said replacement would be 15 to 18k. Said he would connect with first guy, review file and pictures, and get back to me in 2 days.Didnt hear from him for 4 or 5 days.I reach out. Yada yada gas leak. He says he will come back to take measurements in 2 days.Didnt hear from him for a week.I reach out again. He says he will send me proposal in 2 days. Needed measurements before but now he doesnt.Today is 2 days past when he said he would send proposal. Decided to write this review instead of writing him (again).Mickey mouse operation.
The Vigilante team is always responsive, friendly and reliable. It makes it very easy to work with them when scheduling and communication is a breeze. Safraz and Steven from the plumbing team have been fantastic to work with. They took the time to make sure the job was done well, were very careful working in our home, and answered all of my questions so I understood the situation.
We have used Vigilante for 15 years since we bought this old house. They are not the cheapest but their service is first class. Their personnel have always been top notch but I was particularly impressed with the engineer who came out for our annual tune up this week. His name was Manny, and not only was he efficient but he was incredibly respectful of our strict Covid precautions. Highly recommended.
Safaz did his best to correct this problem but we still have no constant hot water from the coil. He and Robert know their trade well and we all are puzzled with this problem. Next day we tried Manufacturers recommended fix but it failed too. I hope we can correct this soon. Been going on since October when installation was done. Please help.Robert is a true professional who is still helping us to rectify a hot water problem after our heating installation. He explains everything and works neat and clean. Janine in the office is caring and understanding and helps to get things done right with customer satisfaction the number one concern. We hope to fix this problem soon.Robert Smith and Sanchez are true professionals. They work neat clean and explain every point of the work they are doing and why they are doing it. Robert’s patience is beyond compare and he has no problem repeating a point if I didn’t understand it. When asked to correct an issue there was no hesitation on his part to meet the clients needs. It should be noted that his work ethic, patience, performance and mission statement to make sure the client is satisfied places him and Sanchez a cut above the rest in the most qualified plumbers category. Thank you for all you do.
Just got an initial assessment today. recommnded by a friend who owns his own multifamily small buildings. SUPER professional and high quality --sent a text in advance of the visit with a photo of the assessor (safety; nice); he was able to come earlier than expected and the dispatcher called me to confirm that was ok; covered his shoes in the house so as not to track stuff through; thorough discussion of issues and options. GREAT.
Vigilante Plumbing was quick to respond. The plumber/technician who came to my house was prompt, respectful, and clean. He wore a mask, introduced himself, placed booties on his shoes before he entered my home, and used gloves correctly, changing and disposing properly. He diagnosed my plumbing issue thoroughly and quickly, then explained it to me simply, including my options to address the issue. No pressure, no sales pitch...the manager and the owner also let me know they were aware of everything. A bit pricey, but sometimes, you do get what you pay for. Quality work from good people with real knowledge and experience behind their excellent service!!!
Vigilante came out to repair the Hotwater Heater. They came on Monday and we needed a part for repair, the part was ordered and arrived on Wednesday, Thursday they came back, and repaired the heater. Our tech was Rafael and he was knowledgeable and personable. He explained what was going on, and took care of the issues with ease. Thank you so much for making this experience seamless.
Excellent service. The daily technicians were wonderful. They were courteous, on time and very respectful. Willing to answer all questions. My only complaint is that several holes were left not filled in and I was told that would not happen. I now have to pay someone to close holes that were made too large in the first place. I think that’s poor planning when making openings.
I have worked with Vigilante Plumbing on numerous plumbing and heating jobs for over 50 years.Kenny, the technician, reviewed the leaking hot water heater and site condition late on Thursday and made appropriate suggestions. The following afternoon his two man team efficiently installed the upgraded replacement hot water heater. Knowledgeable and professional. A job well done.
They have been amazing we have had them come for a couple of different plumbing issues and not only were they the company with the most competitive price they were also incredibly accommodating. Frank, who has come all three times has been unbelievably professional and incredibly knowledgeable on every front. Throughly explaining what he has done and taking the time to explain all facets of the work. I highly recommend them we have been very happy and will continue to use them as our primary plumber and company to service / boiler mai ten excellent.
The Vigilante Plumbing Company were amazing. Provided marvelous service. Depending on the service, for the plumbing problem, it can be a little expensive. However, the quality of the work, is in no doubt. If it is a service, that the company can provide, their teams, will do good work.
I had them replace a gas line to a washer. Went ok, but then I needed 2 water valves replaced. They quoted me 639$! I got a second opinion and the guy quoted me 130$ for the same job. While he was back there he smelled gas, turns out they didn’t seal the gas line properly, it was still leaking. Dangerous and expensive to work with these guys.
The natural gas hot water heater at my residence broke down at an inconvenient time and needed to be replaced. The installation team arrived on time, and went right to work. They were very professional, courteous and very efficient at the task of getting the heating system up and running. Also they removed the old water heater which was a great relief and as promised everything was perfect. Thank You Guys!
The workers arrived on time, examined the defective pipes and decided upon a plan of action. They had all they needed for the job in their van, even the large diameter pipe. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. Clean up was thorough. The demeanor of the technician and his aide was friendly and pleasant.
They are always very professional and I was happy with the work. However, they did not leave me the warranty and I have now called twice to find out how to get a copy of it and still have not gotten an answer. I think overall they are the best plumber in Park Slope but this is very concerning that I have to call multiple times to get something that should have been left when the work was completed.
We have used Vigilante for more than fifty years. They have always rendered fine service for which I am happy to pay a fine price. They are particularly knowledgeable about old rowhouses and their legacy systems. Professionals such as Frank, Carl and Kevin have become more than just nameless service people, but cordial acquaintances.
I could not get my boiler to come on and my family was freezing. Curtis came quickly, wore his mask and covers on his feet to keep my floors clean. He was polite and efficient and quickly figured out what was wrong and fixed it. Great service. I would definitely ask for him in the future.
September 25, 2020Mike,I just said goodbye to Curtis, who was here to conduct our preseason heating check.I want you to know that he was great! I hope that he is valued as an employee, gets the recognition he deserves.Have a good weekend.JOctober 26,2020Curtis came back today to repair a radiator, and it was another great service call. I am a very satisfied customer.
Vigilante always comes thru with quick and professional service. They are always knowledgable and kind. I rely on them for all my plumbing and HVAC needs. All of the pain and pressure of a problem are relieved and I can count on them to do the job thoroughly and without further issue.
Denton Diaz of Vigilante Plumbing came by to do a preseason check on my boiler. He found that the boiler was not getting power because the fuse and 24 volt transformer were blown. I replaced the fuse and transformer, and Vigilante returned to complete the check. I now can go into the chilly season knowing that my boiler is working great. Thanks, Vigilante!
As with many plumbing problems, my job was not straightforward. Faizon Boyd from Vigilante tested and diagnosed several possibilities until he found the source of the problem (a stoppage). He also had to install an outdoor faucet that was not a straightforward job. He went above and beyond to make sure that it was installed in a way not just worked, but that also avoided a potential future problem.
We are a business and Vigilante has been our go to for HVAC!! As a result of the COVID-19 and CDC guidance to maintain a healthy workspace they are installing top of the line MERV-13 Filters and a UV LIGHT that will kill bacteria!!! The tech Frankie has been efficient, professional & knows his stuff!!!
Curtis arrived Covid safe and was able to figure out a way to tackle the problem. He presented all the options and was professional and friendly. I am confident in his expertise and work. I am sure he will be able to fix the leak.Follow up:Curtis found some old pipes under the sink and was able to fix it quickly and even cleaned up afterwards. I will always use Vigilante should I need them in the future. It is good to find a business you can trust.
Vigilante Plumbing has excellent service technicians who are both knowledgeable and nice to work with, as is their office staff. They arrive on time and do the job properly.I’ve been using them for many years and have never been disappointed with the quality of service that I receive.
Grateful for Vigilante’s attention to detail. As it’s said, the devil is in the detail, well these guys have proven themselves above and beyond. From the moment they pick up the phone till the issue is resolved. I’ve even called on them for suggestions and directions with problems concerning permits and things of that nature. You get what you pay for, and that’s all I ask. Thank you guys, Aaron Jaker, Mia and the rest of your team. God bless, be well.
Im very satisfied with the service, knowledge and courtesy of the technicians at Vigilante. I had a serious problem with my central air conditioning unit and they diagnosed and fixed it with professional and personal service. They are a company you can trust, although you can find less expensive ones, its not worth the slightly extra that they may charge.
I normally don’t leave reviews but Roy did such a fantastic job I had to take the time to leave a review. Roy was on time he was able to educate me on the system and the work that was needed . He was knowledgeable and took his time to answer all my questions. Thank you so much .
Mr. Curtis actually showed me work that he did using my nieces IPhone. I was at work, so I really appreciate that. He was very professional at his job. We need more people like him in this world.Thank you so much for providing an excellent Licensed plumber.Enjoy the New Year!!Mrs. Elizabeth Abrams1363 Prospect PlaceBrooklyn
I’ve had two really great experiences with the team from Vigilante. Last summer my central AC broke, they came within a day, they were on time and fixed our unit for a reasonable price. I thought I would need to replace the entire unit, it it turns out that we just needed to change the capacitor - which was much much cheaper than a full replacement. Both times they sent the same technician to our house - a young man name Frank. Frank is friendly, on time, and very knowledgeable. Will definitely use them again.
We have employed Vigilante on and off over a period of decades. Four out of five times the service is A+. The other times B+. On time, polite, thoughtful, efficient, etc. They seem expensive (hence four not five stars), though that comes with the trade-off that their large staff means that they can respond fast when needed. Generally, two of them come: a more senior and more junior plumber. Like training hospitals--I think this leads to better service because the more senior person is taking her/his time so as to also use each visit for training: So often plumbing involves detective work.
Jose Genao and a colleague did an outstanding job in a challenging heating system repair assignment. He was very professional in his work and took the time to explain everything that needed to be done. I could not have been more pleased! Throughout the project, he was backed up by the entire Vigilante team. Bravo Vigilante!Dennis Sullivan
I just watched this company on the News, this technician was called to the residence by neighbors to check the elderly man heating system. When the technician Vincent Rizzo checked the boiler was over 40 years old. And he knew this elderly gentleman could not afford the replacement, and he was in the freezing cold. This technician Vincent Rizzo didnt just up and leave, he called his boss, who could have said get out of there. NO! the bosses got together and decided to help another human being out. They gave him a new furnace, and water heater FOR FREE! Over $12,000. This is what you call Great People, Great Company, and Great Americans. Thank you! Your number is saved in my phone from this day on.
Completed installation of bathroom faucet. Technician Frank was knowledgeable, polite, and thorough. Were completely satisfied with the job & professionalism. Ive been a customer for over 20 years. Vigilante Plumbing are the only ones I call. Look for the duck on the truck LOL. Thank You!
About two months ago I needed the switch on my Hot Water Heater repaired, I thought that I would support a local business so I called Vigilante. Bad idea! I was quoted one price and charged way more after the tech arrived. Since I needed the hot water due to an elderly parent in the building. I paid. I decided that since times are hard for all, maybe it was just a bad day for them, everyone has them. When the valve on my boiler went about 3 weeks ago, I called again (shame on me for trying to give them another chance) I was told that there was no appointments available for a week and a half. I told the pleasant receptionist Jeanine to book the appointment but I would continue to look and call back to confirm or cancel. She told me that the technician would call about an hour before arriving. I never called back and honestly I forgot the date. On the morning of the 9th, I received a call during a meeting to tell me that the tech was at the door. I excused myself and went to speak to the tech. I explained that I wasnt prepared to see him that day because I didnt have confirmation and I was in the middle of an important meeting. I was told that I could reschedule. When I called to reschedule a day later, the receptionist who answered asked me to hold, when she came back she confirmed my address then put me on hold again. When she returned, she claimed that there were no appointments available. I asked not for 2 weeks, she replied no. Again she put me on hold, she returned and said No, we have nothing. So I asked are you booked for the rest of the year? She said, We have nothing available. I said, Is this because I missed my appointment? She restated, We have nothing. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, I found a company (T-Reed HVAC) that I had used a few years back. Not only were they personable, responsive and professional, they were less than half the price with great reviews and longevity in the business. They also responded immediately with same day service. Save yourself the aggravation and money and choose someone who wants and deserves your business! In these trying times we can all afford to at least be kind!!
Furnace stopped working on a snowy day, of course, at my rental property and when it comes to emergency service the one thing I know is that Vigilante will always answer the phone but charges the most. I was prepared for this but the technician called me later once he arrived to tell me he found the problem and the total to replace my pilot assembly, spark box and gas valve attachment would be $1500 plus the $200 just to come out for the service. Total was almost $1900 with tax. He fixed it but the next morning tenants told me the house was cold. Heat was on during the night but at some point stopped working. Called the same guy at vigilante to come back that night as heat was not consistent throughout the day. Sometimes was working then would simply shut off for no reason. They came out that night AND the next NIGHT until the tech finally acknowledged he never attached a ground wire to the new spark box he installed and that might be the problem. Bottom line: We spent a lot of money and more valuable than that our TIME for an extra two nights to have missed this little issue. After he attached the ground the furnace has worked since then. Ive since found other local plumbers who couldnt believe the amount we paid for this job and will my new go to guys vs Vigilante from now on. Very disappointed for the money we paid and then the extra trips to correct their error.
Rafael and Wesley helped with evaluating my leak issues today, very professional, friendly and patient with my questions. They wore their masks the whole time and put on their shoe covers when entered in the apartment. The job required opening up my ceiling; they did a great job covering things up and helped clean up before they left. Thank you!
If you’re in a tough spot they WILL overcharge you. 15 minutes of work will be $900. This is not the cost of doing business the aquastat retails for $120. Kindly ask the tech to leave and DO NOT pay them if the price is too high make them take you to small claims court.
Theres just one bathroom in my apartment, so emergency toilet bowl repairs can be not only worrisome but physically urgent. The nice guy from Vigilante showed up in under an hour, talked me through the diagnosis and costs, completed the repair quickly, and then explained the long-term options for keeping this essential porcelain appliance in good working order. Vigilante actually made me feel better about my place.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We’re regulars with Vigilante for a reason. Great service! They’ve replaced our boiler and hot water heater as well as numerous other calls for things that go awry in a 1925 house. This most recent call was for regular boiler service. Curtis arrived on time and with the red foot covers not a speck of dirt was left behind. All tools are sanitized before the job and the work area is sanitized afterwards. Vigilante is a little expensive but worth every penny.

2022-05-07Weve used Vigilante since 1994. They have always done a great job and their service people are top notch.Vigilante is more expensive than most of the competition. A few times we tried a less expensive service and it was never quite up to Vigilantes standards. The only complaint is that they seem to come earlier than the appointed time. This happened a few times. This week my appointment was between 9:30 and 10:30, but they arrived at 8:40. I was in the shower and not quite ready. Not a big deal, better early than late. Next time Ill just plan to be fully ready an hour early, just in case.

2022-05-26I found Vigilante from the Mitsubishi website. I wish I’d found them years ago. They have convenient appointment times, are very communicative and professional, and arrived early. The representative that serviced my unit was very pleasant. The best part is their prices are better than the others that service the ductless AC units. I look forward to establishing a relationship with them to care for my system.

2022-04-04Vigilante is my go to place for plumbing and HVAC needs. Reliable, professional and friendly. From making the appointment to getting notified that Frank was on the way, all these add to the experience. He was terrific - thorough, knowledgeable and patient in checking and maintaining the a/c system to gear up for the summer. Frank created a novel solution to an issue that was greatly appreciated. Always a great experience with Vigilante.

2022-04-13Joseph was professional, fast and did a great job. There was no mess and he protected our floors while cleaning out our very dirty A/c unit, which now works like new! We thought we were going to have to replace it because it was so dirty but it looks and performs like new. Thank you Joseph!

2022-06-10This is the second time Vigilante Plumbing has come to our rescue. This morning Steven Sanchez came and replaced leaking pipes under my sink with big holes. Steven was so polite and careful not to make a mess. He was meticulous in his work, explained very clearly to me what was needed and what he was doing along the way. I could not be happier. New pipes! No leak!

2022-07-13Highly recommend Vigilante Plumbing as they did a fantastic job on the. Installation of my new water heater. The manager, Kevin, was very responsive from start to finish, and the installer, Safraz, did a phenomenal job, including redoing a shelf that was in the way to insure I did not lose that functionality. Thanks to you both!

2022-04-07The Vigilantes have been our superheroes forever. Big ole houses get big ole problems and whether it’s a toilet that backed up and flooded the basement late at night or a boiler that stopped working just as early season record topping cold temperatures hit, suspicious gas leak smells, frozen pipes that left us with no water to the kitchen and bathroom- whatever the problem, one call to the office and technicians are sent with the quickness. I love that I can explain what the issue is in layman’s terms, often incorrectly, to the reps on the phone and they always seem to understand what I am trying to say and clarify it for me so they can convey it to the technicians, specialists or supervisors and determine who they can dispatch asap. Every technician who has come through, and there have been many, is prompt, polite, professional, friendly, attentive, explains very clearly post-evaluation what they’ve ascertained are the problems, what they need to do to resolve them, what the cost will be, how soon they can start and approximate time to complete so that I can make a very informed decision to agree to the work or not. Yesterday and today, Peter and his partner Oshane who fixed my boiler, made preventative improvements and explained what I can do moving forward to maintain the care of the boiler, etc were just as wonderful as all the technicians who have come to help in the past. When strangers enter your doors to help you with a problem you want to believe in their expertise, trust in their prudence as well as learn from them so you don’t feel ignorant or helpless. The Vigilante way is one in which signing a contract with them is not just an agreement to provide payment for their service, but a partnership in the care of your home.
