Me and my 2 roommates decided to live here after 6 months of looking for our new home. We were all moving out of our parents homes and had no idea what we were doing. Village Green (especially Phallon) was incredibly helpful. She answered every email and phone call with great advice and genuine care. She put us in the right direction for getting what we needed done before move in day, which made everything less stressful. In August 2019 we moved in and its been amazing. We decided on getting the look out feature for the kitchen and maintenance did it in 2 days with no mess! Its clear that Village Green cares about its residents. My roommates and I will be staying here for a long time :)
We originally lived in village green about two years ago. The management was great then. Rebecca always listened to our concerns. We left for a larger apartment and then had to downsize again to save for our first home. There was a new manager who was friendly. However, anytime we had concerns such as our dog being attacked from different dogs that were unleashed, and her being so frightened she hid under a car, nothing was followed up on. Maintenance never came in and did a walk through despite it being scheduled. When we moved in we were told there was a homeowners clause. We ended up having to pay over $2,000 to get out of our lease a couple of months early plus our security deposit not being refunded. I understand fees associated with leaving a lease early but this is robbery. The office staff was always very unfriendly, acting like we were a bother when we asked questions and wanted to make sure of the terms of ending our lease. We will never been returning which is unfortunate because the area is beautiful.
I am a current resident at Village Green apartments and have been living here since 2018. The grounds of Village Green is very well maintained and people regularly pick up stray garbage. There is also doggy bags located around every building to pick up your dogs poo which is cool. The few times ive had to call maintenance they were there within that day to fix my issue. Nothing but good things to say!
My fiance and I are coming up on the end of our first year at Village Green apartments, and I have to say, so far its been a wonderful experience. The grounds are kept immaculate, the maintenance team has been phenomenal with the couple of minor issues weve had, responding (usually) the same day... most importantly the leasing agent, Samantha, has been nothing short of amazing since she took the role this past year. Every concern, issue, inquiry, or need that weve had, Sam has been awesome. Shes incredibly friendly to work with, shes extremely professional, and goes above and beyond for her tenants. Sam is quick to respond, very approachable, and does everything she can to make the tenants happy. We are so happy to call Village Green home, and look forward to many years there. Our apartment is perfect for what we need. Two spacious bedrooms, a spacious living room, a nice patio, washer/dryer hook-ups, dishwasher, new(er) appliances, free wifi and cable, free heat, use of the pool and fitness center... I cant speak highly enough of Village Green! Would recommend to any single person or couple or small family!!!
My wife and I did like it here .we been here 5 years .and every year this place raises the rent every year. we been here or raise the laundry facilities or pet prices .these owners I don’t know if it’s greed or they just like pushing families out on the street ridiculous even through the pandemic when it’s been tough for some people they just don’t care there heartless I will never go with DHM property’s again there just plain greedy
Ive been living here for 3 months. This is my first apartment and I am very happy with the place and the service provided. Trash and recycling is very easy here, there is assorted recycling dumpsters for cardboard, cans, and bottles, and there is a dumpster in every parking lot. Maintenance is very helpful and can help u the day of your issue sometimes even a few hours after calling. The only services that you have to pay for separate from the rent are electric(natty grid) and water. You are eligible for 2 cable boxes and 1 set of a router and modem as part of the rent. The rooms are well cleaned prior to move in and if there any issue at move in you can write it down and maintenance wont blame the issue on you(damage). There is a balcony however it is very small, and it is so small you couldnt put a chair out there at all. The apartment has baseboard heating so it heats up fast its part of the rent. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants an affordable place to stay but doesnt want to deal with the cheapness of apartments where management sucks, maintenance, and where there could be a vermin infestation. Village green is most likely to not have any of that! If they do they will fix the problem :)
Short version: Worst apartment experience in my life. Bad first impression, incompetent office and maintenance staff, even worse corporate management, stay far away from Village Green and Dawn Homes.Long version: After a 17 hour drive, they moved me into the wrong apartment. Was given the option by Samantha (property manager) to get refund or move in 15 minutes after finding out... while having no where to go if we dont move in. We decided to move in to talk to management about getting the apartment we thought we were getting. We had family and website confirmation. They ended up moving us to the right one two months later, but talk about a first impression.2 months after move in we find a dead mouse on the bathroom floor. Blood coming out of its mouth. They claimed it wasnt an emergency on a Saturday and I had to wait. No one ever came and when I called they were super lax fully expecting it to still be in my bathroom after 2 days. They were supposed to come out and plug any holes and promised to do it the next day. I called corporate to complain and got a call from Samantha the next day to apologize and scold me for not demanding someone come out. I shouldnt have to push and anyone should know a possibly poisoned or worse rat is an emergency. After all that, I tried to transfer early to another sister property and Dawn Homes claimed I didnt meet the criteria. They made a lot of excuses, claimed NY state law and criteria changes but I got into a more expensive apartment with no problem. Im used to excuses with this company but after all the issues, they couldnt even move me somewhere else, was pretty sad.Besides these complaints, we had a yellow jacket infestation, paper thin walls where you can hear everyones hallway conversations or their kids race up and down the stairs, awful airflow in the apartment where its 80 degrees in your bedroom but 60 in the living room because of the wall AC not distributing cool air anywhere, a balcony where if you weigh over 160 pounds you cant even go on it (you also have to wear shoes because they designed it to be very uncomfortable to stand on barefoot), and an apartment outdated and cheaply designed … Sadly, I could keep going.
My boyfriend and I have signed our 3rd lease. We enjoy living here~ The staff and maintenance crew are easy to deal with and understanding! We have met many friends here as well! The amenities like the pool and gym are very important to us and we use daily! We feel very safe here...which is important ~ 👍
I have lived here for 4 years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Management has always been helpful and accommodating. My complex is quiet and always clean. I have always felt very safe here and anything I ever needed was taken care of promptly and efficiently. I’m very happy to call Village Green my home.
Ive lived here since 2006 and Ive never had a problem. The management is fantastic and always willing to work with you. They treat all of the residents as if they are close friends and family, which I love. I now currently live on my own and am in the process of getting my own apartment here so I am close to my parents and their apartment. I would highly recommend living here.
Village Green is a beautiful place to live it’s close to everything but still far enough to enjoy the “country” . The management is great especially the office manager Sam along with the Maintenance manager Blake. I would recommend & have for people to live in village green.
I have been living here for about a year and the staff is friendly..until you ask them for assistance. We have a problem with a very noisy and obnoxious neighbor. Most times it is so bad that our bed vibrates and we wake up from the noise, or I am in a constant state of being startled or expecting to be startled. The management did nothing to help resolve this issue - my husband and I will be looking at other places so we can move out once our lease is up. This has been nothing but a painful experience.Update: I am including an edit in response to the comment left from the owner in attempt to invalidate my review. My name is not on file as the lease is under my husbands name. However, half of the rent comes out of my paycheck so I am still considered an occupant living in your facilities. And yes, we have discussed the noise complaint with the office manager recently. To anyone who is considering signing a lease here and would like to enjoy a quiet living environment- I would suggest looking elsewhere..
My girlfriend lived here. Prepare yourself to smell your neighbors dirty cigarette smoke. Staff is friendly and helpful until you actually need them to perform a menial task such as enforcing leashes on pets that bark endlessly at 2am. Pay more and go somewhere else thats what we did.

2021-05-08I had lived in a few different apartment complexes in and around the Syracuse area and Village Green by far outperformed all of them. First, the people that work at the office are incredibly polite, responsive, and willing to help when needed. Second, the apartments had a lot of space and were incredibly well maintained. Third, noise was not a problem at all (we legitimately never heard anything from any of our neighbors). The grounds are the complex were really pretty and were great for walking. Pastas (the restaurant attached to the golf course) is within walking distance and is a great local food (and drinking) option. Despite being surrounded by a golf course, we never felt as if our vehicles or windows were in any danger. Also, we got our full security deposit back. Some of the reviewers have said they didnt get theirs, but they probably were awful tenants that didnt take care of their units. As long as you make an effort to maintain the place and clean before you leave, youre fine.Overall, great experience. Had I not purchased a home, my stay would have been longer!

2020-08-03Just moved out after 5 years. Village Green was nice until new company acquired it approx 2 years ago. Dont pay extra money to live in ground floor apt. Village Green policy permits 2 large dogs to live above you and the ceilings are THIN. Most recently I had a family with 2 teenagers and a large lab that liked to rough-house indoors whenever the grass was wet, WOW it was loud and the housing office couldnt do much about it.This was better than the previous tenants who had 3 dogs in the apt and both parents worked long hours. It took 6 months to convince property managers I was actually telling the truth and even then they didnt do much to address the situation. It didnt help that the upstairs resident claimed to be a police officer and tried to bully others (he actually drove an ambulance in Bville).Upstairs residents can hang bird feeders and the downstairs residents are responsible for keeping their sliding door clean. This was something Property Manager Samantha and I argued about at length and at the end of the day, I had to clean up after the neighbors birds. (included an image below of 1 one week of bird poop- disgusting).Hallways often smell like smoke or weed. I would not recommend living here to anyone but if youre in a pinch, get an upstairs apartment. I could go on but you get the point.

2021-09-30We’ve lived at Village Green for the past 3 years and we’ve enjoyed it immensely. The apartments are spacious and updated. The office is very helpful and quick to respond and the maintenance crew are very helpful and knowledgeable. I wish the pool was open on Sunday and that they had a better equipment at the gym but other than that I would highly recommend them. Close to stores and highways, very convenient.

2019-12-19I have been at Village Green Apartments since early 2019, The office Staff, maintenance team are extremely friendly caring and tentative to all needs and in a very timely manner! You can tell they definitely strive for excellent customer service! A job well done! All properties that I can see including mine are well maintained and taken care of, cleaned weekly in the common areas. If I wasn’t yet again being relocated for work purposes(promotion) I would definitely be renewing my lease and Continuing to stay at Village Green Apartments!I highly recommend this property for any single person, couple or small family and furry children(pets)~ Kyle Gyurko

2019-12-19Village Green is the best place to live! Amazing maintenance crew who respond immediately to any issues! The office staff is also wonderful! They are easy to reach by phone or email and respond in a timely manner to any questions you may have. Do you enjoy peace and quiet? Well then Village Green is the place to live. These buildings are so well constructed you will never hear your neighbors, it’s like living in your own home. Also there are lovely green spaces to enjoy with plenty of beautiful landscaping, trees and expanses of lawns. You won’t find that in newer complexes that jam the apartments so closely together you may as well live in a city! Also there is a sparkling clean pool to enjoy in the summer as well as an exercise room available year round. Heat, hot water, and Spectrum cable are included so you can enjoy a toasty, worry free winter with all the plowing and shoveling done by an awesome crew. Also Village Green is one of the few complexes around that uses clean, hot water heat which is excellent for those who have allergies! It’s obvious that the Village Green staff takes great pride in providing a clean, quiet, safe environment for all residents to enjoy! Also bonus points for being pet friendly!

2019-12-23Ive lived here 6+ years and this is hands down the best apartment community Ive lived in. Its a great value. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the units are updated and well maintained and any needed repairs are done right the first time. The leasing and maintenance staff are friendly and responsive. The location is convenient too. I recommend Village Green to anyone looking for a place in the area.

2019-12-19We’ve lived in Village Green Apartments since July of 2016 and will continue to do so until we are ready to purchase a home. In that time, windows and doors have been upgraded in our unit, a new air conditioning unit was provided, updated dish washer and any general maintenance have been completed almost like your snapped your fingers and it was done. During the winter, they provide ice melt, plows (very timely!), and shovel the side walk (we the tenants obviously all chip in to shovel when necessary). For the most part, we have wonderful neighbors and any issues are usually resolved amicably without needing to involve the main office. The main office is responsive to any situations that arise and they provide adequate notice for any in-unit maintenance and yearly inspections.

2019-12-20Ive been a resident of Village Green since 2002. When I moved out from living with my mom, I moved in with my boyfriend in their apartments as well. The pool and fitness center are great to have, plus the best security Ive seen with a limited access door and intercom system. The location is great as well, being right by 690 and a convenience store in walking distance. The apartments are great. Cable and heat are included. Lots of closet and storage space and maintenance is on top of everything (and I can be kind of needy!).My only recommendations would be to do more as a community. There used to be a summer cookout, small gifts for your annual renewal; now we dont even get a Christmas card. Small stuff like this really add up!

2019-12-19The staff at Village Green is very nice and helpful. The whole neighborhood is dog friendly and has plenty of parking, recycle bins, and dumpsters that are never overflowing. They do a great job of keeping to ground cleared and salted as best they can as theres always a few cars in the parking lot, but they always come back multiple times to clear everything. The apartments themselves are well set up and pretty sound proof.
