This shop has a great record collection and has you finding new things. Glad to have stopped here for record store day. Also the owner is pretty cool guy who seems to enjoy what he is doing. If you ever in the area check this shop out.
Spent time digging through bins only to find out the price label on the bin was incorrect and not honored(!). Aside from this, they are generally grossly overpriced.
Place was a beautiful mess. Jamal the proprietor is a music junkie and pointed me in the right direction for some amazing finds.Can’t find places like this anywhere. If you’re looking for records it’s perfect.

Pretty poor selection and expensive prices. Every record I bought had issues (skips and scratches) but were being sold at near mint prices.

You can tell the staff are passionate about their music and medium. The walls and site is packed with records and gives plenty of opportunity to find exactly what you looking for

Store hours not correct. I travelled all the way here just to see it all closed up when it listed itself as open.

2022-03-28Oh my gosh this has to be the best record store Ive ever been to. Walked in the door and instantly saw 2 Huey Lewis & the News albums, along with that I got a Kiss album and the worker was kind enough to show me some more Kiss albums he had, when we asked him about Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons he walked back up to us with a whole stack of 4 Seasons and solo material. Mom had to stop me before I spent over 500 bucks haha. If you need to find any music, no matter what the format, THIS IS THE PLACE!!

2022-08-03I really like this shop, but the prices are HIGH! Good selection and cool owner, but expect to pay a lot. Never the less, you might find something you can’t find elsewhere.

2022-03-20Bought a tote bag a YEAR ago and never received it. messaged them multiple times as a reminder and was very nice. eventually asked for a refund and was cursed at and blocked. horrible people running this business please do not waste ur time.

2022-08-19Ive been coming here for a long time off and on. But when I do come in, I often look for unpopular records, and those records are always exorbitant in price when compared to (and I know some will be mad when I say this, but its true,) Discogs. A few times I knew I spent a bit (or a lot more) but I tried to support this spot. I know, we live in NYC, its expensive here, Im born and raised here, I want some music, but Im suffering too. Im not a trust fund kid, Im a local born and raised. I want a little entertainment for a good price.I asked for a specific artist, and the owner (whos very knowledgeable about music nonetheless) showed me something of artist, and the price was absolutely extreme for what it could have been had for online. It was in the hundreds, but I saw it for sale on Discogs starting from $8 in better condition. Even with shipping, its still a hundred less. I buy and sell records too, and I check prices and compare them online and offline, in local shops and while I travel. I know a thing or two, and if Im going to be highballed every time I come in here, I will stop coming here. Im not some college kid looking for Nirvana or 20-time repressed Miles Davis albums. Come on, man.Response to the owner: I will stay on Discogs, or go to A1, Academy, or pretty much any other record store that doesnt try to rip off customers. Also, I bought a shirt from your store, it didnt last one wash, the underarm ripped and has a hole. Even your shirts are rip offs.

2022-04-16Such a fantastic voyage of sound at Village Revival. So many possibilities, so much to hear. All of it sounds good when you stop and listen. Something old, something new, something borrowed, even an occasional blue. Amazing bredth and depth of music knowledge.

2021-12-25I’m a born and raised New Yorker and this is my favorite record store in the whole city. The selection is vast and the staff is so knowledgeable and kind. Whenever I go here, I always find amazing records.Thank you Jamal for all your help picking out my Christmas gifts!
