My client recently close on a home in North syracuse after relocating from another area. They were Italian like me and I had been telling them out vinces. After we left the attorneys office I had to take my buyer here to celebrate. The selection is amazing for the size of the store. The sandwiches are the best. As a kid growing up my grandfather always bought us giant Easter eggs made of chocolate. Vinces carries then and I was able to carry on the tradition. This is a true gem in Central New York you can get lost in this little store for hours. Support local you wont be disappointed.
This is our favorite gourmet shop in Syracuse. Its heavenly. The sandwiches are amazing. The deli selections are top notch. The range of pastas and pastries! Its all wonderful. Its a treat to shop here.Try the Arancia - Risotto balls with mozzarella and savory fillings like Lobster/Crab or House-made Sausage and Roasted Red Pepper.Its like having an Italian Grandma for those of us that were not lucky enough to be born with one. Yum! Yum! Yum!

Vinces was my absolute favorite place to go for lunch when I lived in Syracuse. They have a fantastic Italian grocery store and their sandwiches are world class. I still dream of their chicken parm sandwich -- which is essentially a massive piece of chicken parm wedged between two pieces of pizza. Its off the charts.If you live in Syracuse -- this place should be legend. If you happen to visit Syracuse -- this place is worth the stop.

GET LUNCH HERE!! My wife and I stopped at Vinces to get Italian meats and cheeses for a holiday party. The place was packed at lunchtime, and we did not realize how popular Vinces is for their lunch menu. I got the chicken parm sandwich and my wife the Italian sub. DELICIOUS! Theres a reason Vinces was voted best sandwich in CNY.
Very impressed! We were very impressed by the selection of delicious food and customer service! All of the staff that we talked to was very nice and helpful. The gentleman at the cash register was especially kind and helpful! They have a huge selection of frozen meals that are incredibly delicious! They even have a lot of gluten free options! We are excited to come back to try more items. Highly recommended!
The best sandwich place in Syracuse. The weekly sub specials are almost always top notch, friendly staff too. Meat and cheese prices are really good. Pretty much everything in this store is amazing.
Where do I begin? Vince’s Gourmet is everything you would ever want in an Italian store. From the aisles of olive oils and pasta’s and all of their homemade meals, it is amazing to see what the store has to offer. Their deli is amazing as well. High quality meats and cheeses which taste so good and their subs are delicious. The best in the 315. If you haven’t stopped in yet, I highly recommend you do!
I may not know authentic Italian food but my guess is this is closest you can get there’s nothing I love more than coming here for some fresh deli meats or premade dinners. They also cater to gluten-free and for my family that’s very important.Additionally they have desserts in the cabinet that are exquisite nothing I like more than picking up a chocolate mousse

Unbelievable place...If you love to cook...from the old country...with love...time... patience...here in America, Sam has us covered with quality, authenticity, and advice. Cant wait to make my fettuccine alfredo today and have some Italian deserts too!
Overall nice, kind of pricey, but it IS a gourmet shop.Sandwiches are good, but sometimes they dont make them right... even when you are very specific. (My hubby has no teeth/we only ask for the deli meat to be sliced in strips and normally its fine, sometimes they are just confused...not a big deal. I cut the meat when I get home)But my biggest issue?SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY IN THE STORE BECAUSE THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM! 😁😄😃😀💜
Started ordering lunches from here at work almost every week. Its time and time again phenomenal. I just got the meatball sandwich. The meatballs were nice and crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The Italian roll is so so good. I also tried the crab arancini today. It was fried perfectly for a nice crisp coating. I expected the inside to be heavy and dense but it was light and creamy with a nice crab flavor. Not fishy or greasy. Jeez, even the zucchini salad that came with the sandwich was awesome. I didnt even know I liked raw zucchini, but I could eat that every day. Its just all about fresh ingredients put together with care and skill. Lastly my coworkers say that the chicken cutlet might be the greatest sandwich theyve ever had (thats from 4 different people). I havent tried it yet but its next on my list.
This little store is a charming adventure in culinary delight. The fresh homemade pasta and frozen options rarely disappoint, with unusual flavors as well as classic combinations. Price wise as well, there is something for everyone; you can spend $5 or $500 and walk away feeling like a king. Have never taken a class there but every time I come in when classes are in session, everyone looks like theyre having a blast. Thanks, Vinces!
We did a cooking class for my husband’s birthday yesterday and had a blast. Donna is hilarious and such a great teacher. We got a few baked goods afterwards and they were also delicious. I will definitely be back!

Very nice place and friendly staff. The high quality of ingredients in subs make them amazing! I also tried fresh spinach spaghetti. You can tell the difference from store bought! Fresh Italian bread was amazing too. Ill definitely be frequenting the shop again and again.

Fresh sandwiches, salads, deserts, coffee presses, pre-made homemade dinners in freezer section, homemade noodles, homemade cheeses, imported oils... you get my drift. They give cooking lessons, too! I’m so glad we found Vince’s Gourmet!
Subs, the subs are excellent. Make your own, buy one of the specials (everyone Ive had has been good). The national franchise places are not as good, they arent even cheaper by enough to matter. Plus Vinces has all sorts of imported foods one would expect at an Italian import store. Im from out of town so I mainly just go in for lunch when Im in the area.
We attended a pasta making class here, and I have to say that it was by far the best cooking class we have ever attended. We drove 1.5 hours to come here, and will gladly do so again. They offer classes a couple times a week, and offer amazing food outside of the classes.
I had the most delicious sandwich here. The menu was large and confusing( because I couldnt decide which Delicious sandwich to buy) the staff was just so cheerful and helpful and helped me pick the perfect sandwich with side. Cant wait to go back and try something new.
Absolutely love this place. They have just about anything you could want from Italy. And the deli is fully stocked with many choices. One of my favorites is the Pollo Parmigiana. Breaded and fried chicken on two slices of their homemade tomatoe pie!
They make delicious sandwiches and always have a weekly and daily special. There are many options for Italian foods and they offer cooking classes. I love going there every time. I highly recommend the Modena.
Absolute gem of a spot. Prepared foods and desserts to-go are perfect when youre not looking to cook for certain meals. Their sandwiches may be the best kept secret in town. Fantastic roast pork and the chicken parm is between two pieces of tomato pie which is downright deliciously silly.
This review is focused mainly on the cooking class experience I undertook but I will start off with my initial experience upon entering the store.The store was very clean and organized. The main cashier, a young man, at the front of the store was friendly at first greeting but a little sarcastic as the conversation progressed with questions I had about the store.The staff working the deli area were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I have zero complaints from the service I received from them.The area designated for the class was very clean and and everything needed for the class was set up and displayed for use.Our instructor for the class was very friendly. However, their words seemed to get away from them on occasion. There were a few times during the class that it did not seem like the instructor recognized that their attempt at humor caused some uncomfortable moments within the members of the class. There was a moment when one member of the class took direct offense to an attempted humorous comment, but the instructor failed to notice the sharp rebuke let out by the offended party, or, ignored it.Overall, the experience was okay. I think a little more structure and organization could benefit the classes and the overall experience of the customer.Overall: I might attend another class, but, I won’t jump on the opportunity. However, I will absolutely go back for the deli.
Excellent subs and an excellent assortment of delicious meats and cheeses. Lots of different salads and tons of various olives. Not to mention the groceries and frozen entreés. Everything Italian and soooooo delicious!!
Nice and clean place with a large variety of Italian products. They have the best price for feta cheese.
This place is everything you want an Italian shop to be. You can buy almost any authentic Italian grocery item. They have a deli with all your favorite Italian meats and cheeses. They have a homemade food section where you can purchase meals. And the 2 items I will recommend getting are the arancini and the meatballs. Your grandmothers meatballs have nothing on Vinces. Its worth stopping in just to browse. Chances are youll find something worth trying.

This town needed a great Italian deli/grocery/gift shop. You can find it on Main St. in N Syr. And dont forget to try their homemade meatballs, sauce, and sausage!
If youre looking for specialty Italian this is the place to go. Everything is fresh and tastes amazing. The staff are all ways very pleasant, helpful and efficient. I normally get the sandwiches which are delicious, freshly made and they offer a variety of breads, meats, cheeses and other sandwich toppings including some of my favorites like sundried tomato, roasted red peppers and avocado. Added bonus is a discount for military in uniform!!

We had our Office Christmas Party catered by them. Oh M G **Best Utica Greens and meatballs ever tasted. We all agreed. The UG are nice and spicy as they should be amazing flavor. Meatballs were large and full of real italian spice flavor. We also had their fantastic Riggies. WOW we were really pleased and our party meal plan was a great success! So thank you Vinces Gourmet Imports for this fantastic meal!

If your craving a lombardia theres no other place to go...... seriously no place lol, I eat out a lot for launch and vinces is the best sub shop in the cny area for me. They have all the classics you may be craving as Well as some lesser known ones if your interested in changing it up too. The store and eating area is always clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.

They make their own food and freeze it. We purchase and heat when we are ready to eat. Perfect for two people who dont have a lot of time to cook but dont want to eat out. The food is fantastic.

They did not stock the Boylan gourmet soda very well today. No birch, creme, or root beer.**Update for the review: The employee stated that they had the product out back, but not in cooler. I just received a private message from the store manager. He apologized. I explained to him that the woman said it was out back and she said I can get it for you, but it wont be cold. I said dont worry about it. But because the manager reached out to me. I will update to 4 stars. But I still dont know why the women said it was out back, if the order wasnt received..idk anyways great subs!! I had the black pepper turkey and will get again!
This is such a great store. Pastry items, meats, cheeses, chocolate, olive oils, all kinds of Italian products. You can even order food there and eat it in their food area. They also offer cooking classes. This past Sunday I took the cooking class to learn how to make cannolis and had a great time. Donna was our teacher and she was so helpful and so much fun. Small class, only 8 people including myself. We also got to take home all the cannolis we made and we also did chocolate dipped strawberries . Such a fun time. Highly recommended checking out the store and even taking a class. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Dont think you will be dissapointed. Thank you Donna for a great class and a really fun time. I will definitely take another class.

Bought a cooking class here as a gift. The class itself cost $161, which was ridiculous in itself. When the date finally came around for the class, the person forgot all about it. She called the store that night, right before it started and was told the manager would call her back. When he finally did, he did nothing about it; no refund, no use the credit for another class. Nothing. Terrible management. I’ll never shop in that overpriced store again.
We go here about once a month to stock up. This family-owned Italian import shop not only carries imports, but has a great homemade pasta aisle, prepared-frozen food & meals and a deli that has the BEST subs Ive ever had.

What a great place to get REAL, authentic Italian groceries! Most grocery stores sell what they claim is Italian food or even some homes claim to be Italian...unless you get your items from someplace like Vinces, its not real! After having lived in Italy for several years, I got to experience authentic... Vinces is the closest thing in the Syracuse area.
First time in...it smells AMAZING!...fresh, fast real Italian fresh meats , cheese, oliives, and everything else ... deli has many signature Itiaian subs and other hot/cold items... meatballs, etc...Eat in order to go!

We had a cooking class last Sunday at Vinces Deli and had a fantastic experience. We were divided into teams of 2 and we cooked a Chicken Riggitoni dish with vodka sauce. Not only was the instructor fun but the dish was delicious. I cant wait to go back again!
Vinces is always a pleasant stop and shop experience....the people are always helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Their products are superb and I know of no other Italian grocery like it. Five stars.

Bought dessert for parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was awful. When we reached out to store, they did nothing. No refund, no offer to replace with fresh item. Nothing.
Owner/owner’s son - terrible customer service. My senior citizen mother went in there as a regular for grocery shopping and also asked for cheese rind for a soup recipe. She didn’t ask for free and the package was wrapped and an X placed on it. The owner or son came to the cashier and persisted to humiliate my mother over this, yelled at the employee in the back, and came back to belittle my mother over cheese rind. Place is an over priced joke that lost several regular customers.

Went in for a couple take n bake meals....ended up with cookies and canoli as well. Great food, great service, even great customers! Always end up having friendly conversations with customers there! If you havent already, you MUST visit!
Cant get enough of this place. If youre not hungry when you get there, you will be once you walk in. Upon opening the doors you are greeted with a smile and the great aroma of all the food. I go here frequently and have yet to have a bad experience.

2022-05-13Not only are they a great source for hard to find groceries, especially Italian, but they also make great subs. Try the Italiano (hot or mild) with extra Italian dressing or the tuna salad with hot pepper relish. They make the Italian dressing at the store, its delicious, and they sell it in the refrigerated section. You can eat your sandwich in a small dining area in one corner of the store. In the summer, there are also tables outside. While youre there, sign up for their newsletter to get advanced notice of special events and sales. UPDATE: I tried a Sicilia sub for the first time requesting that they add their Italian dressing. Absolutely delicious.

2022-03-30We had such a delightful time this evening learning to make vodka sauce and gnocchi with Donna. She made it fun with her personal attention and good direction. We all felt like Italian chefs and laughed a lot! And the meal that we had at home afterwards was incredible!

2021-08-07I love Vinces, but I just wish the prices were a little cheaper. That was my original review, but Ive changed my tune a little bit -- I love this place and everything is fantastic, especially the subs and the frozen home-made dinners (seafood lasagna is absolute heaven).My wife got the Campana sandwich and really liked it. The sub I got today was the weekly special w Mortadella, fried tomatoes, mozz, greens, and balsamic reduction -- it was freakin AMAZING!!!

2019-07-19I love coming here for a sandwich or some fresh pasta. They have a lot to offer.It is a gourmet place without feeling like you had to pay extra.The have free wifi which is great when I eat lunch there.There is plenty of parking as the have their own lot.The service is always excellent.They offer cooking classes here too.

2022-03-01You truly have to go inside to appreciate Vinces. They have anything and everything Italian you could want. We love their deli, esp for lunch (the aranchinis are my favorite). I love the cases of pre-made meals and dessert. I love the bulk buy spices and ingredients, get the exact amount you want. They teach onsite classes. And if you dont get a cannoli, youre just wrong.
