The food was great! The 3 stars are solely rating service. The service was a shitshow…. We had runners ask us if we had more apps, several different servers bring us different menus, different servers asking if we needed anything. We asked person A for another seat, person B brought it, then server A asked if we still needed another chair. Very hectic experience for a graduation dinner. Place was not full. Overall, very confusing as to who to ask for what, due to lack of structure and communication between staff.
Our group of 6 had a mixed reaction to this establishment.1. The look and vibe is 5 star. Very comfortable chairs and tables nicely set apart from eachother. Cool decor resembling a wine celler. Background music was nice and not intrusive. The place was emaculate !2. Food : 4 out of the six enjoyed their dishes. We started with 2 small plates and a salad . Nice presentation and tasty.2 of the 6 individuals liked their dish but felt it was not spicy enough .3. Service: waiter was pleasant ,but this place like so many others affected by covid was short staffed. Our waiter was serving almost every table ( place was full. )Hence, his attentiveness was kind of lacking through no fault of his own4. Once again covid may have impacted on the price here. 6 people one person had a drink , no coffee or desert over $300.00. That said, main courses are well apportioned. They all come with a side which compliments the dish. Tapas can be shared and there is a nice variety
Went to Violettes Cellar on their opening night. It was an absolutely beautiful restaurant. The attention to detail was not lacking in any way. Decor was gorgeous with wine cork walls, exposed brick, industrial lighting and a touch of purple tones throughout all parts of the restaurant, party rooms and button room. The food was fantastic! Very well executed, described exactly as served on the menu and nicely presented. Had a chance to speak to the owner/chef and he seems to be a very nice person dedicated to the success of his restaurant that he clearly put a lot of thought and love into. I will definitely frequent Violettes Cellar as it is a gem in Staten Island and exactly what our little island needs. Dont forget to visit the speakeasy The Button Room! It brings you back in time to the 20s and is worth the experience!
The food was absolutely delicious; I ate twice just to make sure my tastebuds were not playing tricks on me. The drinks are soo good and the fact you have different options of water ahh refreshing. It’s affordable and better than any chain restaurant you’ve been going too. The service was exceptional as well from the greeter to the waiter thank you.
Came here for the first time for brunch with my girlfriends. Such a gorgeous place! We were seated in this little room off of the entrance that was perfect for a party of 6 people. It was nice to have our own little private get together. The food is excellent! I tried the Cookie Butter Pancakes & the Adult Iced Coffees. Highly recommend coming here!! Great brunch spot. They also have a cute little photo booth! So fun. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I came here for the first time and had a great time. We had reservations on Saturday night and were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The service was excellent. All tables were occupied and we still got great attention from our server. The food was delicious and served promptly. We will definitely come back here again.
We had a 17th Birthday party in the adorable button room. I was able to book quickly and With less than one weeks notice.Prices are very reasonable the food was delicious the manager was so helpful and accommodating as was all of the staff. Everything was low maintenance drama free ends easy-going. Tons of great Instagramable photo opportunities and an excellent dessert array.
Wonderful food and even better service!I recently had a birthday brunch celebration at Violettes Cellar and it was perfect. I have not dined out much recently and I felt so comfortable there. They were following all proper protocols which really eased my anxiety. On top of that, all of the staff were phenomenal. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. My niece ordered the french toast and they were sure to make sure she would be OK with the texture (it is very rich and dense...and delicious). Everyones meal and drinks were delicious. I especially recommend the Old Smokey Manhattan and the Crate & Barrel cocktail. Definitely going to stay on my list of go to restaurants on Staten Island.
The ambience is great and the brunch menu has some unique options. However, I felt like the food was bland. I ordered the french toast bread pudding. The texture was nice but I dont know where the french toast flavor went. It lacked sweetness, cinnamon and maybe even a little salt. The chicken and waffles on the other hand, while also missing salt, was quite nicely prepared and tasty. I would come back again to try the other brunch options.
Enjoyed brunch here the other day. Amazing service, extremely attentive. I loved how the bartender came over to make sure that the drink he had to alter for my pregnant self was to my liking since he had never made so many changes to it before (decaf and non alcoholic .. I probably should have picked another drink but Im grateful he was able to adjust it). The food was great. My friend and I split an order of chicken pot pie empanadas and a prosciutto flatbread as well as a side of bacon and they were all great! We got a quick tour of all the rooms and loved the different themes to them. I would absolutely go back for a meal and would consider them for an event.
Horrible horrible and horrible. I just recieved my delivery from postmates. 3 small raviolis for $17, my soup was sent in two different containers, not prepared properly at all. Who sends broth and vegetables separately and basically says make your own soup? I called and Philip? I believe his name is, he said the owner is his father, says they only do small portions. This is not stated on the postmates app and they should so people will not complain or expect FULL meals. The customer service is horrible and I will never order from here again, you couldnt pay me.Put more details on the postmate app.Waste of money, time and energy.
Just recently left this restaurant and it was such a bad experience from the beginning to the end . Our SERVER Santiago ( I believe that was his name ) was not only very rude but I felt was very cold from the beginning. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but when it came to paying the bill he was not only loud about it but very uncivil . My card declined because I didn’t realize I didn’t transfer the full amount until the last minute and when he came back and told me it declined he stood over me while I was trying to transfer my funds . I asked him if he can give me some space he kept saying my card declined . The bill was going to get paid regardless because I was sitting with a group of people . Just know this will be my FIRST and LAST Time at this restaurant .Maybe you should teach your Servers how to deal with customers if this ever happens to them and not embarrass them .I’m not sure if he thought because we was a group of Black People that he already had a stereotype from the beginning . But Never Again !!!!!
I have to say that I really enjoyed the experience at this lovely restaurant. The hostess and waiter, Matt, which I encountered were great, friendly and personable. The bartender, Ramon, was exceptional. I enjoyed my meal, especially that I requested it a certain way and it came out perfect. Great ambiance. I will be back and will be sure to recommend this place to family and friends.
We just came back from Violettes Cellar, the food was great! I had the Lobster Risotto and my husband had the Cavatelli. It was the best we ever had. Everything on the menu is different, like no other place. Our waiter Santiago, was very attentive. My husband ordered a Corona, and he told us that when he was growing up in Mexico that the Corona bottle was very different. The bottle had a picture of a beautiful lady running on the beach. If you want something different, Violettes Cellar is the place to go. Santiago, made it a very pleasurable experience. We will definitely, go back.
An absolutely amazing experience! The decor was like nothing I have seen before on SI and the food was impeccable. Had a surprise 30th Birthday party hear and was a little nervous because I have never been here prior to reserving this party. Violet Cellar did not disappoint at all. Everything was delicious and the setup for the party was perfect. Huge shout out to our host/bartender June! Can not say enough about this woman. She is a 1 woman reckon crew. Not one person in my party had a glass ever empty. The minute she saw your glass getting low she would be right over your shoulder pouring more wine, sangria or asking if you needed anything else. Thank you for a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back.
My friends and I really enjoyed dining here. Nice ambience & friendly service. All of our entrees were delicious. I had the short rib entree and it was one of the best Ive ever eaten - it was cooked perfectly. Try this restaurant if you havent been here before - you wont be disappointed.
My fiancé and I booked the Crate Room for our engagement party. The booking process was quick and easy, as Ciro returned phone calls, and sent emails quickly. The day of the party everything was amazing. Derrick was a great server! We were quickly served drinks that were absolutely delicious! Once my entire party got there the food was brought out soon after. Everything tasted amazing, especially the truffle egg toast! Everything at Violette’s Cellar is amazing, and we highly recommend it to everyone looking for a delicious brunch!
My daughter an I had a wonderful brunch here. We were in the outer deck they have next door to the main restaurant so we got to enjoy the weather as we had out meals. The service was excellent and the food (along without servers recommendations) was absolutely delicious! I would go there again in n a heartbeat! It will be arranging another brunch with my girlfriends an will suggest Violettes Cellar for our next trip.
Our 1st time going there. Decided to take my husband there and the family for Fathers Day, everything was excellent including the service. We order from their regular Sunday Brunch. They offer bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, sangrias... for 20 extra dollars. Unfortunately the sangria wasnt that great, very weak compared to other restaurants Ive been to. I think (hopefully) you are better getting a drink from the menu. We will definitely be back.
Located on Hylan Boulevard, has a parking lot, and has valet parking. All of these are a big plus. Unusual location in that the restaurant is in the basement. Dining room is nicely decorated. The maitre d was incredible, very funny and engaging. The menu was interesting and I enjoyed the creativity of the appetizers. I had the lobster and shrimp risotto which was pretty good. Could have used a bit more seasoning (salt/pepper) but that might be my taste. The only negative was that the bar was hit or miss. My wife had the special tropical cocktail and it was great! I ordered a martini. The drink was good but the olives were terrible! There is no excuse for mushy olives in a martini. Later in the evening a member of my table ordered a lychee martini that came out undermined and we had to send it back. They fixed it, but these issues should not happen when you are paying $12+ for a cocktail.
THE COUPLE•Back in the Big Apple🍎🙌🏼🗽.First item on the list of things to do, teach Renée about equality of portion sizes☝🏼️😋🙈•THE COOKBOOK•Whole Ginger-Mizo Baked Scottish Salmon topped with Scallions and Toasted Sesame Seeds😁.Charred Spanish Octopus on Spiced Black Been Puree, Crumbled Bacon and Chipotle Oil🔥😝🔥•THE CHEF•“Honestly, when you give people the opportunity to rise, they will. A lot of people have the capability to do so much but no one ever gives them the ability to excel. My background was in marketing/finance, but I always loved to cook. One day I bought myself a chefs jacket and decided that I will make the dishes. I gave myself the chance to be a chef, no one else... .I’ve been working in restaurants, delis, and bars since I was 14 and a lot of who I am today comes from my experiences. I always tried to learn from when I thought someone had done well and understand what led to mistakes when they were made. .Staten Island has a lot of Mom and Pop restaurants but the majority are Italian. It all tends to be the same, not only with the food but also the look. We tried to make @violettescellarnyc as different and unique as possible. Our inspiration comes from being able to taste flavors from different cultures cuisines in one evening. It’s similar to tapas, but I would describe it as contemporary American inspired by many different cultures. .To me; the blending of cultures is similar to the blending of ideas in business. I believe micromanagement kills most businesses. There are plenty of brilliant people in the world and you can’t do everything yourself, particularly in the restaurant business. I would be foolish to think that I could perform well in all of the roles my team excel in! .Theres tremendous joy in letting someone express themselves and seeing their excitement as they push forward! At the end of the day it all comes down to laughter amongst staff and having a tight knit family environment where everybody is able to grow!” @peterbotros51 (Chef/Owner of @violettescellarnyc) •
They seem to have good practices in place for COVID such as limiting the number of tables and cleaning tables and menus. Server was friendly as was bartender. Service was slow paced but didnt impact the experience. I do feel that prices are a bit high but the food is pretty good quality. I got the charcuterie and thought it was a bit much for just me and one other person. May be better suited for a table of 4.My only real issue is the clientele that seem to frequent this place. Been here on more than one occasion and seems that there is usually at least one (if not multiple) loud intoxicated customers. It does ruin the otherwise sophisticated ambiance. I would return regardless maybe at an earlier hour.
Such an amazing place! Had the pleasure of attending a a beautiful 45th birthday and Im already recommending the place. The service was outstanding. They didnt blink at preparing me a vegetarian option which was a cauliflower steak that was excellent!Great date place! Girls night out! Perfect place for just about anything! ❤❤❤
Super cute interior design, i went to the brunch with a few of my friends and we were very disappointed, our waiter spoke to us in a condescending tone as if we were inferior, and the food was below par. i ordered the egg truffle toast and it looked like they used one egg and filled the rest with mushrooms. when we were asking questions about the menu, the waiter seemed bothered and annoyed. i don’t think we will be returning. i give two stars, one for the interior space, and one for how quick our food was prepared.
Was there for an engagement party. The food was rough, small portions (but Id expect that) flank steak 3 pieces and way overcooked, paired with basic string beans and carrots (blah) I give a 3 because it was a large party, if it were a dinner a strong 1. Ill give this another shot as dinner, but the basement vibe isnt very appealing, unless you go speakeasy vibe and this doesnt have that vibe at all, especially off Hylan blvd.
The reason Im going with only 3 stars is because last week I made a dinner order for 2 and the food itself was very good..however not only was the fruity pebbles cheese cake horrific I ended up sick the rest of the night..very unhappy. But as I previously mentioned the dinners were excellent. The 3 meat meatballs amazing..(STAY FARAWAY FROM THE CHEESE CAKE).!!!!!!
My cousin had her bridal shower here and it was LOVELY. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, always there when we needed them. The food was beyond delicious and they even had a set-up where they made fresh omelettes and pancakes. My first time here and it was great! I would definitely recommend.
Nice looking placeBut not exactly my type of food. For the price the portion are small And being served only 2 small dinner rolls just started not right.Ooh well not going back. Ive come to this location when it was La Botte then it becameTroy. So I figured lets try now , but nope if I want fancy locking apps. Ill go somewhere else.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a romantic place for a nice dinner. I made the reservation for 7:15pm through Open Table. I received a call from the restaurant the night before asking if we could move our reservation to 8pm because there was a party at the time. We were not told that there would be SEVERAL parties, one of which had very loud music. They placed us in a small room with two tables directly in between two of the parties. The appetizers were tasty, but the main courses were overcooked and mushy. We couldn’t order cocktails because the bar was being used by one of the parties and our bill still came out to $180 with tip. We should’ve been given these details when the reservation was changed. It was a very disappointing evening. Even the wait staff kept apologizing to us for the inconveniences.
Okay, I have to share this review. We went to a new place for us last night on Staten Island. Violettes Cellar was a wonderful dining experience for us! Set up like a basement speakeasy. Cool décor: wood ceiling, reclaimed wood in areas, and splashes of purple accents everywhere. The atmosphere was excellent from the onset followed by fantastic service and food/cocktails. Actually the apps, grilled octopus and oysters, were awesome and our filet mignon was just okay. When we go back weve already decided that well share a tomahawk steak. Rosanas favorite color is purple and there were several places for great photo ops, which you see we took full advantage of...LOL
Sharif our waiter was top notch .my wife and I had the Chicken Empanadas & Spinach Artichoke spread fir an appetizer. For dinner she had the Chillin sea bass which was delicious. I had the Shirt rib in a polenta & Gorgonzola cheese sauce which was off the charts. Desserts we had Creme brûlée & strawberry strudel which we delicious. And last but not least Melissa the hostess with the best old school music playlist brining back in time. Definitely going back very soon. Thank you Violette’s Cellar for a great time
Violets cellar is an excellent charming location with a decadent flare. It is decorated in a rare yet tasteful fancy neoclassic wine cellar decor that instantly transports the senses to a differnt time and place. I get a kick at the wooden doors that appear to weigh a ton and are befitting the brick archway. There are multiple dining options including outdoor, the main cellar with regular waiter service, a bar area with pedestal seating and a seperate lounge area for events and catering. This was my second time and the food was exquisite. The Chilean Sea Bass was dressed like artwork for the palete and left me fully satisfied.Unlike many other restaurants the receptionist (Giana)was not only warm and welcoming, but also made sure every detail of my visit was above standard. This is a hidden treasure worth returning too!
This is certainly NOT an eatery advertised by the Stone House. This is a warm, relaxing, attractive and fun place to come and enjoy the exquisite cuisine Violette’s Cellar has to offer. The restaurant has been masterfully refurbished offering several crowd choices - from 15-20 to 60-70. Cozy tables for couples and small parties are in abundance and attractively furnished. The service is not at all annoying but meticulous and detail attentive catering to the personal preferences you might have for this visit. The wine list is truly impressive, and the staff knowledge of and attention to menu detail are impressive, indeed. The menu is so diverse and caters to so many tastes that it takes a while until you make the right choice. And when the kitchen delivers, you realize you made the perfect choice and enjoy it to your heart’s delight. Obviously, Violette’s chef is the master of his craft, and Violette’s should be proud of its kitchen - Staten Island’s best (and we’ve been around!).We enjoyed our visit to the Cellar immensely. Thank you guys, keep up the great service and fabulous food you serve. We will definitely be back!V.and N.
We went here for brunch. We did sit outside as they have an area dedicated for this. Its nice as they took a shipping container and converted it to outdoor space. We were the only people sitting outside so getting service was ok but not great. I assume this is because many people just sit indoors and there is no dedicated waiter for outdoors. The food quality was great. Our food was served hot and the flavors were above what we expected. Presentation was great as well. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would come here again.
We were supposed to have our Daughters communion party here but because of covid we couldnt. Violettes Cellar was very accommodating. We were able to cater the food and have it delivered. We ordered many different dishes. The food was delicious and very fresh. My family could not stop raving about it. I cant wait to be able to eat at the restaurant..this place is a must!
DO NOT RECOMMENDWhile having to wait FOREVER for a table, once we got seated the waitress just wasn’t attentive at ALL!The food came out cold, so we sent it back. When we got the bill, we were charged TWICE for the food that WAS ORIGINALLY COLD!!!We pointed it out and the waitress argued for a second before taking it off.The manager never helped us out.Worst experience EVER!Save your money and go elsewhere.
I ordered the Spicy Chicken Parm Oreganata and when I got it the chicken was literally raw in the middle. It was fried all the way around and the moment I cut into it it was soft and pink. When I asked the waitress to cook it she immediately started saying I was wrong and I should just eat it. I do not suggest coming here if you want to have a good dining experience. The food is low quality and the staff are rude. Definitely will not be eating here again!
Loved it here! Great atmosphere, server took now if my food allergies and made sure I was aware of what was in items before I ordered. My friend and I had a great time. We went during the week and had a reservation and didnt have to wait at all. I can heard it gets crowded on the weekends!
Recently wanted to try out Violette’s Cellar for a brunch date with my friends. I found that it was a bit over priced for the portions & overall effort. Wasn’t anything special at all, might of well went to a diner. The waiter was kind of rude & uninterested.Although, i will say it’s decorated very cutely. I don’t think i’d try it again.
This restaurant is amazing! I don’t feel comfortable taking my child to Chuck E Cheese’s because they don’t have outdoor facilities but this establishment will accommodate my unruly children, allow them to run around the restaurant and hit people with balloons. It’s the place to dine if you’re a lazy parent and have no desire to discipline your children. ENJOY!
This place is truly a Hidden Gem. I was first attracted to it because purple is my color and my moms name is Violet. The menu is diverse and the food and drinks are good. We went for afternoon dessert and coffee. The butter crumb cappuccino was out of this world as was the buttercrumb Blondie. It wasnt crowded at all. Highly recommend. Lunch is also very good.
I reserved a party room at violet cellar for may 8th. I received a phone from violet caller today on March 29th asking when I could come in to see the room and leave a deposit, we agreed on tomorrow March 3st. I received another phone call about 20minutes later saying that they needed a deposit today because they had another person that was interested for the same room for the same date and time! I told them I could make it by 3:30pm because I was waiting for my daughter to get home from school. At 3:00pm I called them back and told them I was on my way and if they still had the slot for me. I was told “yea you are good! See you soon!” So great I rushed out of my house. I do not drive so I walked there with my daughter. I’m 6 months pregnant and it took me and my daughter 20mins to walk there ! When I get there I’m told that they have away my spot! I don’t understand how or why if I specifically told them I was on my way with the deposit!! This is disheartening. I was so upset and emotional when I left because I had reserved months in advance!! I was told that I still had the spot only to find out that they gave it away! I did not receive a phone call prior to today, they literally called me today pushing for a deposit right away and then gave it away before I could get there. I will not be going to violet cellar for any events ever again! The manager was so nonchalant and didn’t care that I was mislead. Very unprofessional.
Had a very nice dinner in a pleasant setting. The Bucatini Carbonara was excellent! I highly recommend. My wife had the Chicken Cutlet. It is different. Worth a try but I prefer the more traditional style. Everything was fresh and served fairly quickly. Nice place for a special occasion.
Very cozy, yet elegant atmosphere. Very eclectic, inventive cocktail and food menu. We had chicken & waffles and butter poached lobster eggs benedict, both were excellent. The complementary croissants were also very good. Service was excellent. Water glasses were refilled often and we were checked on frequently. Overall, a great experience. I will be back! Dont hesitate to visit this establishment, we need to support unique, high quality restaurants such as Violettes.
This has become a pretty trendy spot. We’ve eaten here a few times and attended two parties. The ambiance of the place is hard to beat, love the speakeasy setup and the decor. The second time we ate there we saw two people from the Jersey Shore show. Food is very good good tapas style fare, good selection of wine. It is on the pricey side though for small portions. Free valet parking which is nice.
I have been here before and was excited to return, but was deeply disappointed. It took us an hour to order our food. The wait staff was no where to be found when needed and wouldn’t give us water refills. The bottomless mimosas/bellinis are timed for 90 minutes, but it’s impossible to get even a second glass. The waiter gave us a pitcher of the mimosas/bellinis towards the end of the 90 minutes, but still wouldn’t give us water. It took my friends a half hour to get syrup for their waffles. If it weren’t for a table by us, we couldn’t grasp the attention of any of the wait staff to get the check. They also cleared my friends dish as he had his fork and knife in his hand still eating, but left behind empty plates for over 20 minutes. If they were having an off day or were short staffed, we would’ve appreciated some communication for the lengthy absences.
Great atmosphere and service. However a little disappointed in the food. We ordered the crab spring rolls, calamari, pear salad, kale salad, brisket sliders, and lamb meatballs. While the crab spring roll, pear salad, and lamb meatballs were delicious...... the calamari was of the frozen variety, the kale salad was majority arugula, and the brisket sliders were minced vs pulled. Maybe brunch is better?
This place is truly a Hidden Gem. I was first attracted to it because purple is my color and my moms name is Violet. The menu is diverse and the food and drinks are good. We went for afternoon dessert and coffee. The butter crumb cappuccino was out of this world as was the buttercrumb Blondie. It wasnt crowded at all. Highly recommend. Lunch is also very good.
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Went for a catered bday party. The cood is too notch. SI has alot of italian fare so to be up there in rank says something. The service is attentive and friendly. Did not use the main dinning area, but the atmosphere there looks and feels good. Would like to return for a intimate dinner for 2, seems like the perfect place for that.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, clean, quality place. Complimentary croissants were yum! Brunch menu looked amazing but meals tasted a little bland (grilled chicken, philly, chicken & waffles, lobster benedict). Portions are small, so not ideal for sharing. BLT Bloody Mary tasted like it came from a mix. Nice place but not sure we’d go back (not for brunch atleast).
Personally came here a few months ago back in march, the staff and servers belittled us and constantly got our order wrong. When we simply asked for a correction they verbally abused us and would not give us a refund. Completely humiliating experience for me and my parents, and I cant help but feel like this was a racially motivated attack.
The absolute GREATEST thing to happen to Staten Island. I have been there 3 times since it has opened its doors 8 weeks ago and each time is better than the last. The food is better than any restaurant youll eat at in Manhattan. The decor and ambiance is magnificent. There is a speakeasy as well which is super cool and you feel right at home. The pricing is slightly less than Manhattan pricing which is another plus.I suggest the wild mushroom flat bread, Tomahawk Rib-eye (will feed up to 5 -6 people), the potato trio and the House Made Burrata. Looking forward to my next visit.
How long does it take to make scrabbled egg and to bake potatoes? 5mins? 15mins? How about 45mins? Well, 45mins is what the chef and waitress here feel it takes to make a 3 bite sizes (supposedly 3eggs, though feel like 1.5eggs)of scrambled eggs and bake 12 tiny potatoes. We visited the place on Saturday, July 20 and was got a cold, half hearted smile from our waitress Sam. Since it was the hottest day of the summer, we ordered for some cocktails. In less than a minute my cocktail was on the table. My drink had none of the ingredients of what was on the menu and the champagne in it was flat. It was clearly been sitting out and might have been something they got it wrong for someone else.We ordered the food and had a long 45min wait to get scrabbled egg and potatoes while my wife ordered avacado toast. Whats even more interesting is that the menu said fried potatoes but what we got was baked potatoes. No explanations on why they changed and no apologiesWill not suggest this place, more because of the service than the food. You got 2stars in spite of the lousy service bcoz the food was edible
This is my second time at Violettes since they opened, so its safe to say I have a problem! Everything from the food, to the drinks, to the decor, and the staff is incredible! The menu has something for everyone, and each dish is delicious! The first time we went we were 8 people for dinner, and we all tried as many of the dishes as possible. Some of the favorites of the group were ANY of the meatballs, the shrimp, and the Pot Pie Empanadas! We went with a group of 10 for brunch yesterday, and we all left raving. Must haves for me are the Cookie Butter Latte, the Fig and Proscuitto flatbread, the French Onion Omelette, and the Italian Bread French Toast!Make your reservations, walk in, get married here, JUST GO!
Horrible. The service was terrible. The food was pedestrian. They call that a buffet? Pasta, chicken, ham? Yawn. Had to ask three times for coffe for the table. The waitress forgot my initial drink order. The food at the buffet was cold. Just a terrible experience. I would have been better off going two blocks down the road to the White Castle. Avoid this rip off joint at all costs. There are 100 better places on Staten Island to spend your hard earned dollar. I will be surprised if they dont shut down within the year.
Went there a few weeks ago and had a horrible experience. The staff was rude and could careless about social distancing. They allow children at birthday parties to run around and bother other paying customers without saying anything to their parents. Very unprofessional.
Very Disappointed , asked for the Tomahawk steak medium it came totally raw . Very fatty. Sent it back and was returned well done .Not sure if they even know how to slice a steak. Patatas bravas with sundries tomatoes was just unpeeled baby potatoes with a flavorless orange sauce . I asked where is the sundried tomatoes as indicated in the menu. The answer was in the sauce . Lol! Person refilling water filled up the wine glass with water.I have had better calamari at pizzeria .Forced an automatic service 20% on the bill.Huge turnoff.I don’t have a problem spending and tipping extremely well but when I order the most expensive thing on the menu and you fail to deliver I have to assume these 5 star write ups are bogus.
Went with wife and daughter delicious tapas style dishes and great decor Love the speak easy room called the Button Room. We met the owner Phillip Farinacci a very nice person the other owner is well known Chef Peter Bostro from the picturesque Stone House in Clove Lakes
Food was very good the only thing is they have what they call small portions which you would have four small portions which is enough for one then they have bigger portions enough for like 6 people but then when you order side dishes like the potato and vegetable it comes with enough for one person Staten Island is in Manhattan and I feel this kind of restaurant wont work
Was there for easter brunch nothing special about the food omelet was cold by the time it finaly got to the table ther were no beverages not even coffee with the brunch even the drinks for the kids we hat tp pay for the restrooms were out of order only one small bathroom line never stoped wont be going back

2022-02-27Service was great. Things are on the saltier side when we went like the garganelli, but chili flakes fixes everything. Oysters were fresh and lobster crostini was so refreshing.Free bread we love that. Pear Salad was good.Drinks were good they have so many options!Lobster benedict was salty, charred octopus was salty, but the salad paired well with them both.Dessert was eh, bitter and burnt creme brûlée didn’t get it, cheesecake was... yah no.Would come back again I enjoyed this place! They actually cook.

2021-08-10My wife and I went out for a dinner date without our son and we loved it!The ambiance. The menu. The service. Everything was excellent. A fine dining experience. Perfect for couples or a date night, Id leave the kids at home. Has a City feel to it. We have driven past a million times and never gave it a thought, but were glad we did tonight.Recommended by both of us.

2021-06-27I had a dinner for my tax business here in the wine room at Violette’s Cellar. From the moment you walk in the place has a vibe that is rare when eating out on Staten Island. On top of that the drink special was great and the food was some of the best I’ve had in general let alone on Staten Island. Our waiter was great I wish I could remember his name because I would shout him out.We ate like kings & queens and our drinks never went empty. Will be back, for sure.Shout out to Chef Botros on another great dining experience.

2022-04-14An excellent example of Brunch! We were served croissants. Then, we enjoyed our meals. I ordered Sallys french toast with secret batter. It was incredible! We were going to stay for dessert, but most of us were full. In short, Violettes has quality service, a unique atmosphere, and amazing food. If your in Staten Island, go on over and order.

2022-02-22I hosted my sister-in-law’s baby shower at Violette’s Cellar this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect! We had the brunch buffet in the Button Room with 35 people and were taken care of by June. June was so attentive to our party from the moment we started setting up until the last guest left. The buffet was fantastic, and at a very reasonable price, and all of the food was incredibly delicious. The pancake and omelet station was a huge hit with our guests. The room was the perfect size for our party and the décor worked great with our Harry Potter theme. I am so grateful to Violette’s Cellar for helping to make this baby shower as special as it was. We cannot wait to come back for a meal another time. Thank you so much Violette’s Cellar!

2021-05-16Food was delicious. I loved the little outside patio space and our server Matt was attentive and AMAZING!! He gave us a great rundown of the specials and helped us choose from all the yummy options. He also got me the most delicious Mocktail. I will be returning.
