The only reason I am giving them one star, is because of how diligent the occupational therapist was, or else I would give 0. As a Director of Rehab for a skilled nursing facility, I was extremely disappointed in the unprofessional, unorganized care that my mother in law recently received. They never showed up on time, were unappreciated of feedback and concerns that I had, and didnt show up for the frequency that they initially recommended or prescribed. If you can avoid using them, I would. I will never recommend this VNS to any of my patients or their families.

As someone who is the primary caregiver for my aging parents, it can be hard to find reliable help and someone that you can trust in providing care. I am happy to say that Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester eased all of my concerns from the moment we used them. Their staff is not only professional and reliable, but also provide a personalized level of care. I am so thankful for everything they have done and wish I had used them sooner!

Terrible service. I had made appointments for Wednesdays or Thursdays . You call on the following Saturday to come over let’s be real . I asked for Wednesday or Thursday where did Saturday come in. The next week the same thing. I asked for Wednesday or Thursday you call on Friday to come over. What you should do is all need the eyes and ears checked. I’m the patient and I’m paying so listen

VNS Westchester has been a godsend for my family! Everyone from their nurses, home health aides, and therapists have been incredible. The level of professionalism paired with their compassion is second to none! Thank you so much for providing your care for our family, and if I could give you more than five stars I would.

This homecare is amateur at best. Very poor follow up. Nurse gets confused as to the patients needs and wastes time with annoying chit chat. Expects you to contact dr. With any issues when that’s her job. Physical therapist not much better. Antagonist, cold and very negative. Stay away from this service. Plenty of other ones around.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with VNS of Westchester service to obtain a nurse for my mother on short notice. It was around the holidays and when I called I was concerned that we would be able to find someone of quality during that time of year and on such short notice. The intake provider was kind and considerate. She was thorough and ensured all questions were asked. She made sure I understood their services and had me thinking of details that I hadnt thought of myself. The caregiver was so good with my Mom. Given my Moms condition, its not always easy to find someone shes comfortable with - that was not even remotely an issue. The care she received was outstanding and really put our minds at ease.I recommend VNS of Westchester without hesitation!

Dealing with this company was the most frustrating experience of my entire life. They do NOT and I repeat, NOT want to help anyone. I spent two hours on the phone trying to find out when an aid was coming to my mother in laws house and got no where except exacerbated. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I actually called the nurse and told her not to come. They told me that if my mother in law cant answer the phone or the door by herself they would not be able to service her. Why would I need an aid if my mother in law was healthy enough to do everything on her own. Conundrum you think? I guarantee there is no confusion with them in the billing department when they bill Medicaid or medicare for the hours they spent doing nothing. Unfortunately, in order to take care of an elderly, unhealthy loved one you must go at it alone and hire your own private people which is exactly what we did. This company should not be able to soak our system any longer.

VNS of Westchester has been providing various services to my elderly mother for a few months now. Without exception, the therapists have been skilled, gentle, and kind. I am extremely impressed with their professionalism, compassion, and respect. We are very grateful and appreciative to have such help and support!

If you let anyone from this agency into your home or that of a loved one, BEWARE. Please watch them like a hawk and document anything that doesnt seem right, no matter how trivial. Here are facts (and signs) to be aware of: 1) health care providers should not develop a non-professional relationship or exhibit excessive over-involvement with a person under care; 2) giving and accepting extravagant gifts are forbidden; 3) providing undocumented services unrelated to the job for which they were hired and which are outside of the health care plan and/or which are performed for cash is forbidden; 4) discussions about the patients will are inappropriate at best, and vying to receive inheritance or to play a role in estate disposition and/or executorship are forbidden; 5) intentionally upsetting the patient to break family or personal ties and the patients safety network is forbidden; 6) asking the patient to prevent their advocates from reporting their concerns is forbidden. These are classic signs of predatory behavior and financial exploitation. Unfortunately, I am dealing with ALL of these issues with a VNS Westchester care-provider, who intentionally destroyed my 47-year close relationship with the patient because I raised concerns about these behaviors. If the same thing is happening to you, please call the NYS Office of the Aging or Protective Services for Adults. I tried to inform VNS about it, but they refused to listen because I would not disclose the patients/practitioners name until I could better understand the potential direct impact on my loved ones.VNS Westchester, because of the actions of your employee, you are not in compliance with State/Federal Regulations. Your organization needs to do a far better job of training and monitoring to prevent this type of activity, and you need to give patient advocates the ability to initiate discussions when they have concerns without disclosing the patients/providers name. In the absence of that, you are complicit in the predatory behavior and cant possibly identify actions needed to make your service safe for both the patient and their advocates.

My husband went through a difficult surgery and recovery. His RN from VNSW was fantastic and the Physical Therapist was amazing. I would recommend this home care agency to anyone!
