Vivo in other cities:
We picked this venue for our Baby Shower last weekend because we loved the food and the staff was great, managed by Paul, zero complaints there. However, during the middle of our event, at a table with 4 young children, a large speaker box fell from the ceiling crashing into the table and hit one of our guests in the face. Its been a week and I still have not received a basic phone call (which I asked for 2x this week) from the venue to address this issue. If I wanted to pick a place that was falling apart, I would have gone elsewhere. Upon reviewing our photos and videos, you can see the speaker is not secure and there was another speaker across the room that may have had a similar fate.My guest spent the rest of the evening looking up to ensure nothing else was falling and nervous about the safety of the establishment. PLEASE CALL ME TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE - THIS IS NOT NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE.
I attended an event here and the speaker LITERALLY FELL FROM THE CEILING AND ALMOST KILLED SOMEONE!!! None of the staff members did anything after the incident, which is insane. I can not recommend a place like this with such serious safety hazards and no accountability.
I had my bridal shower there in June 2020. My mom and bridal party expressed how accommodating and helpful Paul was. He went above and beyond to make sure the brunch went smoothly. The staff also provided great service with food and drink refills throughout the entire event :)If you plan to host an event at Vivo, make sure to ask for Paul! You’ll be in good hands!
It was great, my waitress was so nice, and the food was great, except for my brothers food. His steak was chewy and tough, whereas I ordered the same thing, and mine a lot better, so they have a small issue with consistency. Other than that, though, it was amazing. The tables were properly distanced, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice.
Definitely not Vivaldis. Seemed like the staff was overwhelmed for Thanksgiving dinner. Made reservations for 5, got here a little early and spent almost 3 and one half hours when all was said and done. Took an hour for our main course to come out. The crab cake appetizer was right out of the fridge. Sent it back to heat it and did not see it for 30 minutes. Felt bad for the wait staff. No management, host(ess) or maitred to check on everyone. Comment from our neighboring table better order now for your Christmas dinner. Thought that was hilarious. We miss Billy and the Vivaldi staff. Almost forgot, food was fair at best.
The restaurant was nice dinner was great. Make sure that if you book though open table and you only want to eat outside that you call the restaurant. They did find a spot for us to eat outside despite them saying it was too hot to eat in the yard. The service was impeccable.
As a restaurant this restaurant is good, its beautiful, clean, has parking and excellent service. As a bride who had her wedding here, I absolutely love this place! I booked it pre-pandemic and was fortunate to be able to rebook them along the way until, I had my wedding here on 9.4.21. This place is a gem. When I initially booked, I never wanted a huge wedding so this was the perfect space that didnt require 100+ people minimum, with a BEAUTIFUL outdoor ceremony space setup you would want to get married in and all the extras that you get from other venues but in Long Island and New Jersey. First and foremost the coordinator, Paul, is excellent at his job. He runs this place like a ship. My wedding had a late start (through no fault of my own) and Paul and my other vendors calibrated the situation and never skipped a bit. I never felt like I lost wedding time. The garden is amazing, cocktail hour on the patio is amazing and reception in the grand ball room was amazing! I was fortunate enough to have perfect weather but this place is great. I did my own centerpieces so when I came in the morning, the elevator to bring everything to the grand ball room helped tremendously as my makeup was done. I placed them on the table along with my own favors and votives and I went to the my bridal suite. When I came back, the workers had put the final touches like tucking in menus, placing my sign and lighting my candles prior to reception hour starting. Also to all the future brides, the bridal suite is a full suite with a shower included. So you can get ready from head to toe if you would like. I cant talk enough about how great this place is, its a real gem for a bride in the trip-state area without having a venue that requires 100-150 person wedding. This become even more important post pandemic with the fear of possibly downsizing the wedding and getting ensuring everyone you want is truly important to your wedding day.P.S. They also have a full parking lot for you and your guest.
Planned a dinner for four of us to celebrate. We were all excited that Wednesday is lobster nite. Unfortunately when we ordered at 630 pm the waitress said they were completely out of Lobster on LOBSTER NITE!!!!She said the inside of restaurant which we decided to eat outside, was full however when we arrived to check in maybe 3-4 small groups were eating inside. Why they ran out of lobster is a bait & switch. We talked to one patron who said she experienced the same at another time and knew you need to RESERVE A LOBSTEROn their website nor when checking in did anyone say if you want lobster you need to reserve it.Won’t be going back
Loved the atmosphere and serivce at this restaurant! Warm entryway with a fireplace and soft lighting. And the food was fantastic... my favorite was the grilled octopus starter - so delicious and tender! Major props to waitstaff and management here. Despite one of my family members being VERY difficult with the staff, they handled themselves (and his concerns) with the utmost professionalism and respect. Thanks Vivo!
You guys were spectacular! Thank you so much to Paul and his team for hosting my wedding. It is an unforgettable night. They were on top of everything on my special day. I was able to completely enjoy my night and build many memories. I highly recommend this venue, I promise you won’t regret it.
I had an event there recently and trust me, it would have never happened without Paul. Sonya was the worst part of the entire experience but PAUL is THE BEST PART of this institution. The event was perfect! The food was amazing (beyond my expectations), Felix (the bartender) rocked my signature drink, and the rest of the staff is so polite and helpful. There is a new tent over the patio space that was perfect, whether during the 90 degree heat or a summer rain. Paul did everything needed to make sure everything worked out (and trust me - things got stressful!!). Thank you so much for a day that could not have gone any better. I appreciate you SO MUCH!
Great food and ambiance!! Everything we had was delicious! The burrata salad had incredible flavors and the perfect mix of textures. I had the halibut for dinner and it was just as expected, clean and delicious! The service was excellent, fast when we needed but we didnt feel rushed at all. Highly recommend this new restaurant!
Vivo, very nice restaurant/event venue. Was a vendor there at a wedding and the guests seemed to be happy with the arrangements. The food was delicious and well presented. Staff and coordinators were very helpful and professional. Vivo is located just off the cross island parkway, very easy to access.
I met some friends at VIVO since it was centrally located. Food was delicious and service was great. Online there was a brunch menu shown and a phone call confirmed it was available on Sunday. When we got there, the menu was totally different and meals did not include the brunch cocktail or coffee. The waiter immediately apologized and ensured us these would be included. Despite several larger parties there, service was attentive and food arrived promptly. We were made welcome to sit and catch up both before and after our meal. All four of us were quite happy with our experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We were very disappointed with the way the manager treated us on Friday night. We were given a $110 bottle of wine my mistake. We ordered a bottle for $40. We did not notice this at first so we accepted the bottle and drank some. When we noticed the waiter admitted he pushed in the wrong number and apologized. The manager came over and told us since we accepted the bottle it was not their problem. She had a bad attitude. The waiter who made an honest mistake offered to take the money out of his tip.The manager took only 20 dollars off the bill.
We had our 15 year anniversary party here and we renewed our vows. Vivo was wonderful, from the delicious food, the attention to detail they did a fabulous job. I would recommend them for dinner as a restaurant, and most definitely if you need a great place to have an event this is the place for you. 5 stars all the way!
Went there for New Years Eve. Upstairs was the buffet dining which is what we wanted. Price was fair, place was pretty, food was very good, not a huge variety but very tasty. The service was wonderful, a very friendly staff!! But the DJ was not good so unfortunately we didn’t dance much.
I held my wedding reception at Vivos on 3/7/2018. We had a smaller intimate affair that turned out just perfect. The room, setup, and tables looked amazing and everyone had a great time!!. Drana and Sonja were very helpful when I met with them the first 2 times to go over options, details, and concerns. Drana was very reassuring whenever I worried about anything. Put me at ease. She could not be more accommodating with all requests we made. Paul took over for the day of the wedding. He was exceptionally prepared and really took care of us. The waitstaff was also pleasant and responsive. Now the food: It was really outstanding. The butler service was perfect. Everyone raved about the baby lamb chops (So glad I picked that for the mix). Seared beef and Salmon Crostini also tasty! Salad tasty, pasta perfectly al dente (they have an amazing chef btw). Main course: well we had 3 options but it appears some took Salmon and really enjoyed it. Many or most took Filet Mignon. I got so many texts the next day about how great the food was and was told best food they ever had at a wedding and that filet Mignon was so perfect. SO I wanted to say thank you to this relatively new ownership for making my day great with delicious food and ambiance. Please keep up the great work and I hope to see you in the future for more parties!!!
Went to a friends baby shower there on Nov 17th and a speaker literally fell from the ceiling, crashing down on a table where guests with children were sitting!! I watched in disbelief as the facility did nothing. Now Im being told by my friends that to this day no one has responded to them about the incident. Shame on this facility as someone could have been seriously hurt by a random speaker falling out of the ceiling!!! Ugh Im warning everyone I know not to book that place for anything.
9/28/2016My sister had her wedding at the restaurant - very big mistake.#1 They are selling and dont seem to care about the venue part of the restaurant. Bridal suite was dirty no toilet paper no napkins in the bathroom. Bottle caps and stockings under the coach in the bridal suite. Cocktail HOUR was outside we paid for open bar throughout the party and they tried to tell the father of the bride that they were only serving champagne. Told the guests they had no mixed drinks. No knives at cocktail hour carving boards were cold. They took forever to get tables out after ceremony was complete. The toothless Indian man that was in charge of our party tried to get extra money out of the father of the bride because HE miss counted the number of guests!!! We paid for cookies on the tables $ 35 dollars each for mini cookies when 10 people or more on the tables. 200 dollars a plate for horrible service and total miscommunication of the wait staff. Big mistake the party was this past saturday THE 24 TH.
Go now and bring your friends! I cant say enough good things about this restaurant. Food was amazing and very well priced for the quality and portions youre getting. We ordered:Oysters- apprehensive based on low cost but they were fresh and deliciousCaprese salad- hard to mess up but also very goodGarganelli- pasta with butter poached lobster. I know it sounds heavy but IT IS AMAZING.Skirt steak- juicy, well cooked, flavorfulBombalonis- Ordered them as per our servers suggestion but they were just okayOverall a warm and inviting ambience with good service. If I have to be picky Id say that our server was young and appeared to be inexperienced resulting in some awkward, quirky interactions but it certainly did not take away from the wonderful evening we had at Vivaldi.
Went to Vivo this Afternoon and I have to say that I was really impressed...We were running a few minutes late and the host called to inform us that they would still honor the Brunch Menu (which is what we wanted to try) even though we were late.Service was great. Prompt, not overdone, and clean. Our Server was on top of every detail with out being overly present, and accommodated some dietary restrictions without hesitation.Lastly, the Cinnamon Donuts were out of this world. (Hats off to the Chef) They even went as far as adding an additional donut to our order to accommodate the 7th person. (It’s on the details!!)Bravo Vivo,You’ve impressed a fellow Food & Beverage-ian among with my Family.Keep up the Good work!!!Lou FebusFounder/ Principal ConsultantFebus Hospitality
Vivo, which used to be Vivaldi which used to be Caffe on the Green, which used to be Valentinod on the Green is actually a fanous place. It was the residence of Rudolph Valentino, and the summer home of Mayor Fiorello Laguardia. Beautiful place and i went there for many private parties as well over the years.I had a reservation and was quickly seated. There were not many patrons there at the time, but by the rnd of the bight, the restaurant was at capacity. I guess everyone eats later there on a Friday night. Justin, our server...he.was so young and so well versed in serving. He did an excellent job. I asked him about choices of.wine and he picked a California cab over a French Cab that was more expensive. Guess what, after I took the Cali cab, I asked for a taste of the French cab and the California cab win hands down. That in itself was a great start. Started with the special salad, waterxress dalad with champagne vinaigrette, with all sorts of delicious items added. It was excellent. Also tried the Striped bass, that had mussels, clams and shrimp..another winner. The Brinzino fillet had the perfecr xharring and again, well flavorful. I followed with the nutella pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. The manager kept coming by to see how the meal was. He was personable and with a great. It was an enjoyable evening there. Would highly recommend!
Food was horrible on Thanksgiving Day!! Turkey undercooked, stuffing was crutons (no flavor), dinner table was a cocktail table which was as high as my knees with a very oversized tablecloth, horrible. Waiter were obviously temporary staff...I asked for clean utensils, I was given a fork only...had to again ask for a knife!! Overall, HORRIBLE experience...will never go there again!! Ordering a pizza would have been a better choice for Thanksgiving dinner!!!
I have been to this restaurant when it was Café on the Green, Vilvaldis etc. Since the food was always awesome, thought we try it again under new management. I never had a worse meal in my life. Both dishes of clams were like rubber and full of sand. It was so noisy you could not have a decent conversation. The main course of Swordfish Oreganato was so mushy. The side dish of potatoes were so dry I thought I would choke on them. The veggie must have been cooked for 2 minutes. They actually snapped when I chew on them. My friends dish of Veal Marsala was very spicy. We both did not finish our entrees. Very disappointed. Know I we will not be returning to this place.
Went to see the place for upcoming family celebration event. Sales person was not interested in selling the place to us at all. Unprofessional behavior and not even interested in saying good bye to potential customers at the end of showing.I am so frustrated to say that someone can be so unprofessional like that to tread potential customers.
Clean, fresh atmosphere. 1st time there was for dinner, 8 adults + 4 children. They gave us a private room which was equipped with a flat screen TV. Ordered the chicken & corn soup, the winter melon soup, Peking duck, salt & pepper pork chop, shrimp with fired milk, young chow fried rice, filet steak with veggies, crispy chicken with garlic, Mai fun, beef chow fun, beef pan fried noodles. All where superb. Love that the Peking duck is carved table side. 2nd time there, again food was really good. Must try the dim sum on day.
Awful experience and awful food! If you like instant mash potatoes, lots of salt, poor service and over charges on your card then sure knock yourself out and try this place. My fraud department contacted me the night of my event and now three days later. Is there a star less than one...... the reviews you see are from employees not from customers!
False advertisement! Your website shows a prix-fixe menu until 7pm - which was the main reason we went to Vivaldi for dinner last night (June 25th). Our reservation was for 6:45. Upon sitting down, I asked the waiter for the prix-fixe menu, he never came back. Another waiter came to our table, I asked again. He stated he didnt believe that the prix-fixe was still being offered to which I replied the website shows that it ends at 7pm. He came back with the hostess who also said it was no longer being offered. I explained to her also that the website shows it ends at 7pm to which she quickly and rudely replied that it should not have been on the site & was supposed to be taken down. As I pulled out my phone to show her, she walked away and never came back. Her rudeness was unprofessional and uncalled for. You do not treat customers that way. Her actions alone will cause me to never return to Vivaldis. When a restaurant makes that type of mistake - a mistake that brings people to dine there in the first place, her first step should have been an apology followed by some way to make up for the inconvenience and misrepresentation of the restaurant.
Since Cafe on the Green left the spot, businesses have struggled to stick around. Vivaldi may change that. Based on my experience it should be there a very long time and I hope it is.The restaurant itself has 2 distinct feels apart from the party room upstairs. Upon entering, to the right there is bar with a warm and more relaxed dining room complete with dark wood and stone fireplace. To the left is a more formal dining room that is lighter in decor with leather chairs and is warm and comfortable. Soft music played at just the right volume throughout the dining room and added a nice touch to the experience.Service was very attentive and our waiter was friendly. Although a tad rushed to take orders, but nothing drastic. My only gripe would be that I wish they would have acted on the comments left in the Opentable, but cest la vie.The food is fantastic and presented very nicely with every ingredient serving a purpose on the plate.Appetizers:Crab Croquettes served with roasted red peppers, arugula, thinly sliced fennel and a lemon pepper aioli. Two large perfectly fried balls were served and inside was basically a crabcake, that was bursting with crab, it was creamy and tasty. I couldnt detect any potato which the name led me to believe, but it was great nonetheless.Marinated Grilled Octopus is not to be passed up! It was served with a wonderful chickpea salad, yogurt and olive puree. The octopus itself melted in your mouth and had the perfect amount of char. Excellent dish.Entrees:Pork Chop with spiced potato puree, apple raisin chutney and a bourbon glaze. Ive never tasted pork like this. It was juicy and meaty and not at all porky. It had a hint of sweetness and was fabulous.Skirt Steak marinated and served with a watercress salad and a Bordelaise sauce was cooked to perfection, tender and delicious. The salad offered just the right acidity to the dish.Dessert:If you consider passing on dessert, please dont. Everything is made in house (I had to ask to be sure) and are out of this world.Apple Crostata may have been the best apple dessert I have ever had; apples with a slight sweetness encompassed in a lovely flaky crust and served alongside some ice cream. Just amazing.Italian Cookie Plate contained 2 each of 4 varieties; Rainbow cookies were decadent, Pistachio cookies were delicate and packed with flavor, pignoli were good, but crispier than I am used to and the chocolate chip biscotti were scrumptious.Decent wine list as well as a fair selection of wines by the glass across price ranges. This was truly a magnificent meal and while we ate a lot, we did not leave feeling overloaded, but left with pure bliss.
We just celebrated my nephews wedding at Vivo and we can’t find words to express our gratitude and complete satisfaction with our experience! Paul and all his staff were amazing from start to finish! Not one request went without a quick response. Thank you for making our families day a wonderful experience. The Vidulich & Chiapperino’s
I recently hosted a 90th birthday party for my Father at Vivaldis. They went above and beyond my expectations. From the planning to the actual party, everything was professional and superb. The food was EXCELLENT. The staff was very attentive to everyone and treated my guests as if they were the hosts. I recommend Vivaldis highly to anyone who is planning an affair or to just stop in for dinner. You will be greatly satisfied with this wonderful restaurant. THANK YOU ALL AT VIVALDI for a memorable day for my Father and his family.
Horrible experience from the second we walked in. Food was horrible waiters had no clue about what was going on.. we booked this party two weeks ago and everyone that worked there was so unprepared for it.. place was empty the all time we where there, now I know why... very disappointed!!

2021-07-26The service was nice. We went for brunch and they were very accommodating with the kids meal. The prices were a bit high for brunch, but we enjoyed our meal.

2021-08-09Beautiful restaurant. I have been here many times already, and for multiple occasions ( wedding, birthdays, baptism, e.t.c) staff were accommodating & friendly , location is beautiful with great ambience both inside and out. Both inside and outside events are available with great views. Parking available on site which is a huge plus. Theres valley and theres park yourself available. Definitely recommend to have an event here. The food is allright, its simple & nothing exceptional. The salmon I got yesterday wasnt my favorite.

2022-06-28Made a reservation for a party of 40 and staff + management was extremely disorganized. Guests were upset and it was pretty embarrassing dealing with the personal complaints coming from my party about the bad service. Food came out an hour and a half late and many people complained about getting the wrong meal or not getting drinks that they ordered. Staff seemed understaffed and overwhelmed despite me making the reservation two weeks in advance.Server referred to us as those people in front of other guests and servers (we were an entirely African American party)Food was good. Management did try to be accommodating to the situation. Would not recommend coming with a big party though.

2019-06-16I think you’re for Father’s Day brunch, and really liked the restaurant. They did course very nice, and it is a very large restaurant with nice seating and even an outdoor space. The brunch menu includes many typical dishes you would order for brunch like pancakes and eggs Benedict, but they also have a good selection of pasta‘s as well as appetizers and different meat and fish choices. We got the Barada, which was delicious, as well as the peach salad to start. For our main courses, we ordered the steak frites (meat was over cooked) as well as a pasta and Spanish tortilla, which was not as good as the others. The wait staff was very friendly and service was good!

2018-04-20Came here to celebrate my moms birthday and she loves the food. The ambiance was nice and the live band at around 7:30 was also very nice. Food was great. Everything was flavorful, service was great. We will definitely come back again.

2020-09-28We had originally planned a communion party here back in May but due to the Virus things changed.Luckily we were able to enjoy a much smaller more intimate gathering outdoors at Vivo. The weather turned out great and the restaurant gave us a cordoned off area of their patio to dine. They even moved some lounge seating so we could enjoy some added comfort. The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive while still providing social distancing.Other diners seemed well spaced, sanitizer was available and we felt very comfortable dining there.

2021-11-26I would like to start with saying that our waiter Alejandro was awesome! But the other restaurant service put down what he was doing. We walked in as a party of 4 and wound up sitting for about 30 mins just to get water and take a drink order. Appetizers took about another 45 mins after that to come out, then when the main course strip steak came out, it was cold and undercooked. Overall it was a very slow kitchen service with moderately attentive staff. If your looking for a quick meal I would not recommend. Very nice venue though, I would recommend for parties looking for a more relaxed longer dine in experience.
