Really cool building. I love the architecture. The stained glasses are amazing. The computers are fast and come with most of the needed software. Notable exceptions are Aspen and RStudio. The computer staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. It is pretty thoughtful of them to stock up the entire place with lots of stationary.

I dont trust these people. I took my computer to them with a broken screen. They would not order a part without having my computer there (as hostage?). But after three weeks they had still not ordered the part. When asked, they blamed me saying I have not responded to their quote. But I had! By phone. They forgot? On top of that, they waited for me to notice that work was not going forward. Even if they really forgot the phone call, they should have noticed that the order had not gone out and done something. Total bust. I took my machine back unrepaired and went elsewhere.

My experience with the VCC staff is that they are knowledgeable and helpful in every way from the HELP Desk students and staff to the postmaster, to computing store staff, staff who supply guest IDs, programmers who assist with special projects and assessment tools, to telecommunications staff. Their excellent service is a reflection of the IT Leadership who are innovative, creative, and dedicated to providing a stellar computing enterprise that supports Rensselaer students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. Theyre really here to help you. While they specialize in ThinkPads, Macbooks and other PCs are also serviced. Also the workstations are pretty powerful, and come with Creative Cloud.
