Let me start by saying this review is of the Walgreen’s in general, NOT the pharmacy. The pharmacy people are friendly, helpful and professional...absolutely top-notch. Wish I could say the same for the store.The store is consistently understaffed, creating long lines. The shelves are quite often under-stocked and many common items cannot be found. The staff is uncaring and incompetent.This afternoon was a perfect example. It was 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon. I picked up $30 and some random change worth of items and handed the cashier two $20 bills to pay. First problem: they couldn’t make $9 worth of change in the middle of the day. The cashier called over a gentleman I assume was the manager. He opened another register and they spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how to make the $9 in change from the two cash drawers. Meanwhile, I’m just standing there while they try to figure it out.Finally, they seemingly figure it out. The cashier hands me $9, closes the drawer and calls the next customer. All good, except my change was supposed to be $9.68. When I pointed this out, the presumed manager gave me an attitude and told me to relax, that she was giving me my change (keep in mind at this point I’d been standing there for approximately 6 minutes while these two geniuses try to do basic math). Very clearly, she did not intend to give me any further change as she had already closed the drawer and called the next customer up.Grudgingly, the manager had her re-open the drawer, all the while commenting about me being rude. She opens the drawer and gives me the $.68, in the form of 13 nickels and 3 pennies.So, if you want to waste your valuable time wandering the unstocked aisles, and when you’re lucky enough to find what you need, be prepared to stand on a long line, then spend another number of minutes while the two simpletons behind the counter attempt—quite poorly—to do simple subtraction, and, finally, get an attitude from the chief simpleton because they can’t do math and they don’t care that they are wasting YOUR time because of THEIR incompetence.In synopsis: the pharmacy gets five stars. The store gets one star. Whoever was managing (gentleman around 30 years old, with a neatly-trimmed beard on-duty at 2PM on Sunday 10/18/2020) should be summarily dismissed. He has zero customer relations skills and will only cost this store further business.If Walgreens corporate happens to see this review, here’s some advice: keep the pharmacy intact, but clean house on the store. Fire everyone, and hire people who are trained and competent at using cash registers, and also hire a manager that understands the inventory system so the store will not perennially be unstocked or under stocked, and also understands proper staffing levels.
This store has the worst service of all Sunnyside pharmacy stores. I live across so sometimes I feel too lazy to walk to stores located further but every time I shop here it is a horrible experience. It feels disorderly like it has a bad management. Never again will I shop here.
Only use this Walgreens if you want the most infuriating experience, every time. The manager is just as incompetent as the rest of the staff. They do not uphold their own posted pricing or try to offer any customer service, only excuses.
I hate to leave a bad review, but the service here is just…. terrible in every department. You will actually save time and a headache if you walk to any of the other pharmacies in Sunnyside.
Unprofessional staff that doesnt follow store policies - closing early and opening late.fedex drop-off is horrible - refused to accept my package because it is too large and heavy without measuring it even though the dimensions and weight were within allowable limit.Dont recommend anyone to buy anything here
They get 3 stars for inventory. They were well stock despite all the covid issues and compared to other drugstores near here. But their store hours are strange. Google says 10 p.m. closing on weekdays and even when I called the automated system said 10 p.m. but when I went at 9:15 did some shopping, at 9:25 the gate was lowered, manager was mopping and told 2 people that walked in that they had 5 min because store closed at 9:30. Its irritating to not know what hours are the true store hours. Long lines and waits to check out and understaffed. Clean and organized but not worth the wacky houra.
The price in this walgreen is expensive compares to other drug stores. 2 to 3 dollars more expensive per item than other pharmacy stores. Also the general store staff are rude and uncaring. I don’t believe they will last very long. Need new management. I probably won’t come again.
Pharmacy was not accepting walk-ins for Covid booster even though vaccines.gov said they were, and it was dead. Lame.
This is the worst pharmacy experience I have ever had. Every time I call, I wait on hold for approximately 45 minutes. I am switching pharmacies and I do not recommend using this location. Horrible service
I go there today stuff on clearance get to the register total different price im telling the cashier where the items were shes telling no its not on clearance meanwhile the items i had was all on that clearance shelf with more on it. The one assistant manager told her to give it to me at that price she refused to do it, i then took all the items an said forget it you people need to be more on top of what is on sale an not. Horrible store
Horrible customer service. I don’t know if the pharmacy is maybe understaffed but they never pick up the phone so don’t even bother calling, just change your pharmacy.
Pharmacy service is really the worst. No one answers phone call, more than half hours on hold. Same scenario every day.Please turn off your phone since you don’t answer it.

Every time of the day and night the lines are very long. They never have cash in the register to administer cashback or change for a 20 dollar bill. I would not recommend this location unless you were ready for long waits and snotty attitudes.
They need to hire more staff! Long lines, few people working. Everyone is nice, but not going to go if the company won’t hire more

The line is always crazy long and they are extremely slow. They have people hanging out in photo area when the line gets to 10+ people long.

2022-02-04Its my neighborhood department store, right on my corner, and I love it. I dont understand all the negative reviews, but I can assure you that they are coming from folks who havent been in the area for long. Really nice and easy going, all the staff are awesome, oh, and not to mention a FedEx drop-off point, super convenient. As for the complainers, I can tell they havent lived in the neighborhood for long, and theyre looking for something to complain about. Listen, the world was suffering during the pandemic, get off your pampered high horse and understand that not everyone is in your servitude, they need to adjust to circumstances as well, this isnt E.R. the TV show, its a departmental store.

2022-02-26I don’t usually write reviews but this Walgreens has probably got to be the worst one in the entirety of NYC, quite possibly the world. Slow does not even begin to explain the service. Understaffed for sure. People who work here move like they literally have no will left to live. Trying to buy something simple like a tube of toothpaste is like trying to do the most daunting of tasks. It’s really painful shopping here. I hate myself and everyone around me when I step foot in this establishment.

2022-05-28I go to this walgreens only when necessary. A couple of days ago I went to make a return and they refused. I checked their policy before walking there and on the website it says I can return items at any location within a 30 day period. One of the cashiers is helping me but then another one comes and ask me why I dont want it. Anyways I asked to speak with the manager not only was he rude but he was not helpful at all . I dont think I will be back at this Walgreens. Horrible customer service.

2022-07-19Horrible customer service here! Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Ive lived in this neighborhood over 40 years, and prior to this being walgreens it was rite aid, and it was better than this! Customer service goes a long way, hopefully walgreens management looks at all the bad reviews on this store and takes action to make it better. All these bad reviews cant be wrong.Much better options to go to in the area.

2022-07-14I wish I could leave zero stars such a horrible experience. They advertise same-day delivery through their website and app but do not deliver unless you buy or purchase through DoorDash. I waited three hours for my groceries that never showed up, no one communicated with me about my groceries even though they advertise 2 hour same day delivery. This is beyond frustrating and could’ve been avoided if customer service was cared about. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else!

2022-01-08Like many others I came here only because its convenient, but no more. During my last visit, in the height of the super contagious Omicron variant of COVID-19, at least one employee was working a register without any face covering (even if he did cover it would be useless because he had on a super thin, nearly transparent face gaiter), and there were several customers walking around unmasked without anyone saying a word. My one pharmacy experience was frustrating because I made the appointment and filled out all the paperwork online, yet when I arrived they did it all over again and had issues with my insurance. What shouldve taken 15 minutes took 45. Lets not even talk about the dismal frozen and refrigerated section which looks like the place was ransacked.

2020-03-29Rude and no common sense people. Update: After 10 mins waiting on the ever growing line and not moving someone came out and said the cashier is on break and people should wait. She said approximately 30 mins. ... and this is the only Walgreens pharmacy in the area!!!

2021-10-05Honestly hate having to pick up my prescriptions here, just being lazy because they have all my info from my previous neighborhood Walgreens. But the hours are inconvenient for anyone who works a normal 9-5, and I have a problem everytime I go. First they wouldn’t give me my prescription without first need to call my physician to confirm they could give it to me, even though that exact doctor prescribed it. I asked if moving forward, I should call ahead to make sure they get whatever authorization they need, and they said “no it’ll be ready when you get here”. When I came to pick up the next time, it wasn’t ready and they wanted me to wait an hour to fulfill, even though it’s a prescription that I need to carry over to the doctor to administer and would end up missing my appointment. They expedited it but then gave me a hard time about “oh you need to call ahead, how would we know to have it ready.” I’ve also gotten repeated calls to pick up prescription refills I never requested to be filled, and couldn’t even pick up in time. It just seems like the pharmacy does whatever they feel like doing, no structure or intent to serve the customers properly
