One of they worst places to work ever. I worked doing overnight stocking upon arrival they ask for your basic information and I provided that, the personal manager or whoever then lost my information not once but twice and he never handed my personal info to anyone leading to them letting me go because they didn’t have my documentation they lost twice. But they reassured me I would be re-hired which was a lie I was constantly asked to motivate others and help them at an employees wage and when I told them my mother was sick and I wanted time off they told me I needed a note from a psychologist honestly a bad place to work and they’ve screwed me and left me in a hole I’m actively trying to climb out of
My grandson wanted a specific toy and I went to the Walmart website to try to locate it. There was supposed to be one available at this store, so I ordered it and drove more than 30 miles to get it. When I got there, I was directed to the Pick-Up area, where I pushed the indicated button for service. I pushed it repeatedly for more than 20 minutes, at which time I used my cell phone to call the service desk. I got an employee who could barely speak English and knew nothing about the Pick-Up area. Meanwhile, one employee after another (in uniform) marched past me on their way to the restroom or what I assume was the break area. No one offered any assistance. I was thoroughly disgusted. Finally a pleasant young woman came and took my information. She went to the area where merchandise is kept and came back to tell me my toy was not there. When I said I had received a confirmation of the order and was told it was available she said the headquarters in Arkansas didnt know what was going on in any of the stores and they dont keep the website up-to-date.
Messed my whole order for a pick up order. Absolutely ridiculous and then tried to substitute items without my consent or notice instead of just refunding my order back to me. Wasted my gas going back and forth just to come here and return the whole order that I placed for a pick up. Do better!
Worst place to work. Horrible managers, horrible training and horrible schedule. HR manager Omesh doesnt know what hes doing. Team Leads just walk around bossing people around. Highly recommend not to work in this Wal-Mart. Side note: This Wal-Mart has the absolute worst atmosphere. Crowded, dirty and rude workers.
These so-called security people follow you around every single time you walk in the store thinking that youre a thief when I work hard for my money they must not believe I make that much money each and every day and Im just a plain old thief. Screw all major corporations
When I go here its like seeing the Family that o never asked for lol The staff is great, I mean not all of them and most dont want to help you because they dont know what you are talking about and have no real knowledge of products or whatever it may be. I dont care though, its a discount retail chain supergiant that isnt going anywhere. There are many people that stand out and make me smile when I think about them. One has moved into a new store, he was in Security, name starts with a D and he is a good soul. Personable, aware and diligent. Always helpful and I wish him nothing but the best at his new Wally World location. A girl who I thought was pushing 40 years old and is only 19, going on 20 lol She doesnt look old! I hope she sees this! I wasnt paying attention I guess and over estimated. She is a beautiful young woman and has always been a joy to deal with. She makes me smile and feel appreciated for being me. If I were straight, if I were straight! lol You can just tell she is a good hearted, loving person who just loves WalMart too much! Like me! haha So, she knows who she is, she was just promoted to a new Position which is great, so young and smart. The hardest working people I have met in that store and that have shined above the rest, not only in that store but in many other retailers I have been in over the past many years are... Chandra in Mens Clothing and (I dont remember his name and I apologize because hes great) the lovely, a bit older (70ish years old) man that works in the Garden/Whatever else he does back there Department. I have never seen either of them not doing actual work at work. You know what I mean, you know how you and your coworkers can disappear or text or go to the Bathroom (meanwhile youre outside smoking!). I mean these two Employees are doing above and beyond what any employee I have seen working there. I know there is a new Store Manager at this location. He needs to watch Chandra and The man without a name in the Garden Center as they work their shift. They deserve a substantial raise and a plaque on the front wall of the store or something. Theyre also kind, sweet and genuine. Awesome people. There are others but Im over typing. This store is generally great. I mean, we are talking about WalMart folks, it is what it is. Shout out to my peeps at Altamont Avenue WalMart. This is Michael and Im out! ✌️
Went to Walmart for some stuff for my sons birthday. It is 6:21pm when everyone is getting off work. There is obviously some lack in proper scheduling for the staff as there is only one lane open and self check out. There was no announcement over loud speaker to staff for assistance at checkout. And there was a line going strait to the food isles from self checkout.
I asked an associate where I could find a product. I was told to walk that way and look for another employee to ask. That seems kind of crazy. Maybe page another associate, or walk me to the vicinity and help me look. To say to look for another employee is unacceptable!!!
No complaints. Walmart has some things that other businesses do not. Kmart and Office Max used to offer an option to the community. Now that they have left, this Walmart in Rotterdam will fill the void for those in search of a local catch-all store. Self check-out made it easy for me and my fellow co-shoppers.
Best pharmacy in the area. Pharmacy staff is top notch. Super helpful and thorough. The remainder of the store is awful. Most employees ignore you especially if they are stocking shelves. They treat customers as if they are hindering their work when the customers are trying to shop and navigate the aisles. The parking lot is a mess. People smoking in the entrance area. Big thanks to the pharmacy staff for making any visits tolerable.
Absolutely awful! Returned process is horrendous, they do not give you a receipt indicating what items were returned, you are supposed to take their words for it. As I was trying to return my items the associate handling my return kept taking the items and handing it to another associate that was leaving area, you couldn’t even tell if she was scanning the items. Management is not helpful at all, they support their staff unethical behaviors. You are better off shopping at Target, where you are provided with a receipt for every transaction and a helpful staff that speaks to you with respect.
I went in to do a price match off the Walmart.com site. The girl in customer service said they no longer price match that you need to buy it from the site and return th item you bought in the store. I found out a week later that is not true and of course it’s sold out online so now I can’t go back in to have them price match.
Always a good shopping experience. However, shelves have been bear of Worcestershire sauce and Gatorade. There were some other things as well and this has been going on for a while. Weve had to shop here then go to their competition Price Chopper to get the rest of what we need. This has somewhat negated the pay less motto.
I work at Walmart and they pay really well and they have great benefits. It’s also one of my main shopping locations too because they have good prices and great customer service. I’ve been working there for almost a year now and hopefully I can’t complain about their flexibility on scheduling and work hours.
Never greeted any more..At door, Seems like when you ask most employees for help, They are never around, or dont want to be bothered .,, except one Man thats been there for ever? Do not know his name. Only I know what he looks like??. 😞Also, I do wish we in Rotterdam Ny, had a super center in the vacant building right next door! It would be so busy, but grocery should stay separate next door,, cause they both would make customers go into both stores, If I only had the finances, to buy and join The Walmart team. Ive never had a problem with Walmart until I order the futon and it needed to be returned two days in a row Ive had to sit at home waiting for no one to come. So now on my third day I complained and they gave me a $25 off coupon but you have to spend $45 in order to redeem it go figure
Always a lack of open registers. Hard to find staff members with keys to open locked display cases. Warranty issues are ridiculous. Purchased 2 yr warranty on a tool that stopped working first day. Tried to return and exchange at store but was told I could not because of warranty purchase, told I had to go thru maker of tool. That involved filling out paperwork and other tedious tasks. When finished and finally able to communicate with company I was told it was not covered by them until 90 days after purchase and to return to store for refund. Second round at store was same as first. Decided to do it my way and tossed tool in dumpster and bought another one. 1 year later it is still working great.
Wal-Mart was busy, as I expected it would be this time of year. Parking was even more challenging today because of the 30 of snow the day before. The self serve checkout is generally a convenient way to make a purchase and I never have to wait long for an available register. Two clerks in Health and Beauty were helpful to me today. One assisted me with finding an item and another confirmed that the item I was looking for was not in stock at this time.
I went to the pharmacy department around 11am this morning 2/21 and saw a small female worker on the floor with a sanitizing spray bottle and tissues, wiping away at the shelves. I can’t remember her name but it had 3 letters. I worked at Walmart in Florida for 10 years and I know that teenage sale associates can care less about keeping things clean, or even put that much effort. She came up to me and asked if I needed assistance out of her own politeness. I was pleased to see that they care so much about the customers health and satisfaction in this Walmart. Speaking for the elders, I appreciate the cleanliness during the pandemic and doing small things to keep us covid free !!
Cant ever find someone to assist you. People go in with no mask and none of staff demand them to wear one. And theres staff right when you walk in. No one stays 6 ft away. I personally feel that Wal-Mart cares more about making sales than keeping people safe. Or stocking their shelves.or cleaning and sanitizing.
Its Walmart. On top of that, its not a real supercenter and has no full size grocery department, just a few aisles with some odds and ends. So if your going to pick up some items to grill out or make dinner skip this location because they do not even have meat or produce department, not carry any of those kinds of items.
I went yesterday (7/21) and finally every one had a mask on. I was very pleased to see that! When the workers are stocking shelves its very hard to find what you need when carts and boxes are all over.I love the store, for the most part I can find just about everything I need except cleaning products.
There are never enough registers open and staff is not friendly. They actually act like your bothering them. You see employees walking around talking to each other but not actually doing any work. They try to ignore you and not make eye contact so they dont have to help or answer questions.
I was at super Walmart in Scotia glenville this afternoon and there was a family of four, a mother and her three children and they also had a dog with them on a leash service vest tags to identify it as a service pet then the dog which was less than a year old it seemed like a big puppy started scratching and itching and biting itself like it had fleas and parasites or something on it and this happened right near the bread and produce and bakery lunch meat department I became disgusted and spoke to some store associates so hopefully this will not happen in the future a service pet is one thing this was just a family pet service pets need to be identifiable with accompanying tags and vest this was a very repulsive experience and I hope corporate looks into it
Says items in stock online. I go there with my phone and show them what should be in stock. They tell me we are out of stock and dont know. Not once but multiple times, and you ask for assistance and you get an attitude. I go to the glenville supercenter even though I live up the block from nasty Rotterdam walmart. No one knows anything in that store and customers come last there. Go there and ask for help and see what happens. I dont work this department or I dont know are the answers you get.
I ordered something online. I paid for the item the store says they have the item and they say to pick it up before 8pm. I get there and they dont have what I ordered and paid for and they stated theres nothing we can do for you. I said no exchange nothing and they are like nope Im like ok bye.
I worked at a Wal-Mart in my home state for 5 months this past summer. I am visiting friends in Schenectady. Im not usually a Wal-Mart shopper, but after working there I have come to depend on the store for some items because of value and availability. I am normally appalled by the overall chaotic mess customers create in the stores at home. However, even at the end of the day with a store full of customers, this store did not feel like disaster had struck. There was an occasional item out of place or on the floor, but overall it appeared very neat and well maintained. And there were hardly any empty spaces on the shelves (also very unlike the stores at home).
What can you say about walmart that has not been said. This place rocks oh man and that 75in smart tv for 475 now you cant beat a deal like that. Only at walmart can you get great deals everyday plus im a father so late night trips to walmart was a must for the wife wanting what ever at 1 in the moring. Love you walmart.
I am never setting foot inside a Walmarts ever again. I will take my business elsewhere where I will be treated with respect. They do not treat people with disabilities well. I always end up upset and feeling so bad about myself after shopping there because I am disabled. No more.
My experience was horrible. Trying to finish Christmas shopping with one last gift I could easily find at Walmart,,, if I could only get assistance in sporting goods. Stood there for 45 min trying to be patient an when someone did show up they told me the keys for display were lost. This just confirmed what I should have known,, Dont Shop At Walmart!!!
Went today to have 2 new tires put on, I was told that I would have to wait 4 hours agreed because weather was bad and I needed new tires bad plus there was a lot of people there. At the 3rd. Hour I went to cashier and found out they called my house looking for me when I made sure they had my cell phone number and they couldnt get my tire off Im wondering if they are truly experienced.
The prices are low, maybe the lowest. You can find just about anything you need here from groceries to clothing to electronics to pharmacy, and much much more. Sometimes the lines are too long and there are not enough cashiers on duty. The speedy checkout is usually the slowest line in the store. There are ample parking spots and shopping carts available.
Great prices and quality products. You would definitely pay more for the same goods elsewhere. This store in Rotterdam has less overall selection, but its all on one floor. It is close to home too. Walmart has everything you need under one roof, therefore saving time and money. Just try to ignore some of the strange shoppers and try not to stare. Both wealthy and poor like bargains. Walmart is definitely the place to be. Only buy USA brand pet products.
This was a nice place to shop before they constantly had people there asking about who your energy provider is. I just want to grab what I need and not get hassled about my energy provider. Yes, I have national grid. No, Im not interested in changing. Now leave me the hell alone.
They need to take the stuff out of the middle of the main aisles I thought that was part of the stuff they were suppose to do for the pandemic. And it’s always busy in there maybe regulating how many ppl are going in at a time would be good too! Not to mention there always out of stuff even when it’s not a pandemic. One of the worst Walmart’s around!
On May 13th 2021..I called customer service 5:30 till about 6:30 about a purchase Ive had made and was rudely treated by a female and she kept hanging up on me and leaving me on hold for an hour at the least had ask to speak to management..and left on hold the hang up on..the worst I had ever incounter in any business and lost me as an customer..
This Walmart is still one of the smaller Stores, not a Supercenter, which limits the shopping experience hence the three stars. Overall its clean and most importantly everyone is wearing a mask which makes you feel as safe as you can expect in the COVID-19 environment.
Walmart seems to have a large number of things in many locations nearby. The advantage is that you can order not only things that you think of for holiday gifts, but also for things when you want to find something that you know is in stock at the size and color that you want. Since there is no cost to order it and have it shipped directly to the area, and at least in my two areas they are within 2 miles away, it is very nice not to have to look for things that you know you are going to get anyway and dont have to find.
I generally like Walmart. The only reason I gave this store 4 stars and not 5 was the fact that their pickup department was very understaffed. I waited twenty minutes to pickup two small items. The items were very nice and extremely reasonable but it almost wasnt worth it. The other complaint I have is that this pickup department is way in the back of the store. A long walk which I wanted to avoid. Good items, great price and a poorly managed pickup department.
Price and products are great. Employees [not management] are rude. Very useless . Cant help you to locate a product... theyre busy.Told me whatever I can see on the floor thats all they sell even tho I can see the label for the item on the shelf.And yes I found what I needed after a half hour of searching .Their zoning sucks .
Walmart is Walmart! Cheap products and lousy service. Long lines, trashy customers and obnoxious employees! You wont find products with lower prices anywhere else unless you catch a sale elsewhere. Thats why you put up with the mounting negatives. I mean I could go on for hours about how terrible it is to shop there but I do because of the low prices so it is what it is!
If you are at all concerned for your own safety during this pandemic, this the LAST place you want to go. Online order pickup is in the back of the store with no signage to tell you that. People are walking around without masks, ignoring the arrows on the floor. One employee returning the carts siad to me that this place sucked to work for. AVOID it if you can.
It used to have good Customer Service now the place has small Options Young, Degenerates, who has no Knowledge of the Products... Prod Sell you need to Hire more Qualified People for the Job, cause this Bussiness is going Downhill pretty fast!(those who I Speak of is in the Electronic Dept)& Please makeover your Store the place barely has much to choose from either Electronics, Food, Dining options etc. but they have allot of Staffs
5 stars for an amazing service and excellent shoes departmentBeen looking for a pair of boots could not find it else where. Awazie helped me find the most comfortable boots on this planet. I just bought same boots for all my workers at construction site they all love em. I just am so thankful of Awazie , went above and beyond , he needs recognition for excellence in service. Most definitely will be buying more boots and recommending this Walmart to all my construction fellas!
Was trying to take advantage of opening a credit card account for the 20percent of auto center are ignorant of auto related things so imagine opening up a credit account. The whole experience in buying tired promised in 48 hrs and arriving in a week left Me wanting to get away quickly as possible.
The employees refused to take an item back that was purchased within 90 days, but no receipt. I dont know if they get a bonus for not taking back sold merchandise, but they definitely didnt follow company policy. I hate shopping at Walsmart as it is. Just another reason not to give them any more of my money.
Poor customer service...as I’m writing this review, I’ve been on hold for 30 + minutes.I called inquiring about an exchange, to see if they had the air mattress in stock; prior to driving over there and wasting my time (due to a faulty electronic built-in air pump, in a air-mattress); which was used a total of 3 times my one guest ended up on the floor.They just got back on the line and said hold on I’ll get someone and hung up the phone.
I hate this place but the prices keep me going in. Staff is rude and dont even talk to you. Not sure if this is the only location where the greeter doesnt greet you and its perfectly fine. I thought by job description, greeters greet you. They do however always ignore you and avoid eye contact at all times, and almost all employees seriously lack all professionalism. I quickly run in and get out of here because every visit is a disappointment.
I purchased a lap top computer which was defective. I returned it the following day, they credited my card. They then charged my card again for the cost of the computer, and refused to acknowledge the mistake. After confirming the mistake with my bank they still refuse to Refund my money. Beware when using a debit or credit card here. I’m out over $300.00
Its Walmart. What do you need to know? If you dont concern yourself with what a company does, the way they treat employees, or if they destroy the environment, or put their locations near historical sites, then its for you. Decent prices and selection, but at what cost?
Went to Walmart today and found olive oils on sale for what was advertised as 50 cents. Took them to cash out and the acting manager refused to price match then although the cashier and employees confirmed they were advertised as 50 cents. Alex the front end employee we disrespectful and very unkind.
I just got off the phone with a wonderful customer service representative at customer service named Tessa. I know they’re probably pretty busy over there around this time but she went out of her way to look up a receipt for an iPod from over two months ago that I paid to the electronics department in cash. Something that she didn’t have to do over the phone for me but she stayed on the phone with me as she did it. Took a bit of digging but It was very streamlined, and I’m an extremely busy person so the fact that she did that for me at a busy time herself, I’m very grateful. She was absolutely wonderful! Thank you again Tessa, you really did save my day!!!! I’m not sure who sees these reviews, but I wasn’t expecting for you to drop everything like that and help me out when I wasn’t even in your store. How outstanding! You really did go above and beyond for me and for that my son and I are both grateful. Typical Walmart experienceWalmart prices are so cheap because they pay their employees so little there for the employees dont have any desire to really help you for the most part they seem very unmotivated I did have one Kindly older woman today who tried to help me in an apartment she was unfamiliar with but I give her a for effort otherwise the only reason to go to Walmart is the prices

2022-02-04My son went shopping for me while we face timed. The shelves were not stocked well at all. I have never seen it this bad. I know we are in a food shortage crisis but this store was the worst I have seen yet!

2022-05-26I love Walmart online, they are head and shoulders above the other online shipping companies. I get 90 percent of my building and renovating, furniture replacement and gifts for my loved ones through Walmart online. They have very good quality vendors, to the point of where I dont shop anywhere else for these items! A+ to Walmart, Im not a fan of shopping the store, but online Walmart is exceptional!

2022-03-06I ran over something on the road and needed a tire. The gentlemen in the service center were awesome! They took me right in and took care of my car like it was their own even put the spare back where it belongs. I highly recommend this store if you need service done to your vehicle . Would definitely be returning if I need anything done to my vehicle!

2022-05-23I know its not their problem, but the staff at the customer service desk told me to go elsewhere when I came in to shop. I explained my phone was dead and need a small charge so I could use the $100 e gift card I have. They told me to shop somewhere else or bring cash. Not a good experience..

2022-06-19Home Depot would be great if they had HELP. We dont know maybe its low pay. One thing is it would be very nice to not wait in one line for hours. Hope that does not continue I am sure it was a few had a lunch or dinner break

2022-03-31Our local Walmart, I need tissues and automotive ties, also looked at prices at their photo lab, have use them before. I also saw some craft items for a project Im thinking about. The store is clean, the cashier was friendly and the store was busy. We seem to visit at least weekly if not more.

2022-05-05Never coming back! My pick up experience was terrible! First off the app says the pick up stops at 10pm. I went at 8:50pm and was told it was already closed when i called the store itself. Then I get a rude spanish lady on the phone that is acting offended because i asked to speak to someone from the pick up department. I hear the guy say he left at 8pm. I told her the website says 10pm she says i dont know what to tell you. I had to come the next day (today). The guy was super slow and seemed like he couldnt even speak english. Do better Walmart! The experience is becoming unbearable.

2022-05-28I have several Walmarts to choose from in my area for my basic needs. Some of the things I look for at every local Walmart in my area, are usually not at this store, probably because its a smaller store. Lately I have been finding a few odd things that I can use, which is surprising to say the least!!! I suppose that I could shop online too, but it seems like such a hassle, especially when this store is only 10 minutes away from home. Maybe I will try online... eventually.

2022-02-04Ive been comming here for years and always have exceptional service until today. Alex at the automotive counter ( lacks customer service skills, shows no interest in helping the customers and seems like he didnt even want to be there). Have someone with a better attitude and customer service skills who wants to help your customers at the automotive counter. I was a customer paying for a service and expect better from Walmart. I will be going elsewhere now for all my automotive services.
