Walmart Supercenter in other cities:
Great deals and prices. But....... Employees are often rude, sone stockers dont even speak english well, most of the cashiers talk to each other not in english which is extremely rude. There paper bags they sell for 5 cents rip before then even get put in the cart. Friendly cart people but lack common sense gathering a line of carts and blocking as many as 5 to 8 cars from leaving.Sure love the prices and the cleanness of the store but really.
Rude employees that are shopping for customers. They will block aisles, create blueberry patches, overall just clutter the store making shopping more difficult. Honestly they should shop from the shelves in the stock rooms first.I use scan an go for the convenience of it to only now get the terminal locked out by employees. We all know what thats about. I mean come on my cart is only half full and my bill is over $200. Yeah Im the one you should be flagging. Going to cancel my Walmart+, as the ease of cashing out just makes me feel like a criminal now. The discrimination.
This is the worst Walmart in the area. Things are always out of stock the store is always a mess. The people working there either do not know anything or cannot stand there job and dont want to help. The morale and attitude of the employees is lacking. The food in the hot case of the deli is always old and crusty but they still serve it to people willing to eat it.
Did my shopping and used the self check out, was not charged for items not received this way. Had to wait for my online order, fortunately someone else had been there and was waiting for someone to come to the kiosk. Lucky someone moving 2 carts of groceries to the pick up room came by and got our orders.
I went to the speedy check out line because I had 8 items. The people in front of me had multiple orders in one cart. So needless to say it took longer than had I gotten in a regular long line. WalMart should really address the checkout area as things could be improved. Buy American ,🇺🇸
I went in at 10:40. The store closes at 11pm. I had just gotten out of work and needed groceries. The whole entire time I was shopping I was being followed which I assume was the manager saying that we close in 10 minutes or 5 minutes and that we needed to hurry up. Even though they say the same thing on the PA when they are closing. I felt like I was being forced harassed the whole time. If I could I would not had even given them a 1 star rating. Ill take my shopping elsewhere from now on.
I have not been a big fan of Watmart for a long time, but after stopping in to that ENORMOUS store the other day, my opinion is changing. The store is very large, clean and organized. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely be shopping in the, Amsterdam store again soon.
The store does not provide plastic bags, and there is no thoughtful service provided by Wal-Mart in other states. Some products are not expensive, but they are locked in a cabinet and the purchase options are not convenient. I went to target and bought the razor I needed. They did not have them there. The razor is locked in the cabinet, making it impossible for guests to choose.
Staff are not friendly or as knowledgeable as they should be. Often things they don’t have items I need in store. Policies aren’t clear in the store and changes week by week causing customers stress. I do want to mention, Walmart has 2 employees that have been there for years that always keep there head down and do there job. When I ask these individuals for help they try there best to help. These individuals work in housewares and crafts department.
Another go to spot out of Schenectady! Sometimes I have to venture out to see just what the other stores of the same name are carrying that may be different. Believe or not, I do find things in various Wal-Marts that I have not seen in the few I shop at in Schenectady. Its a good thing to venture out people, you learn a lot!
Walmart employees - (blocking isle and holding hands)Me (with 4 year old daughter) - excuse me can we get throughWalmart employees - (still holding hands) were working go aroundMe - thats not very professional, Im trying to get somethingWalmart employees - we dont care about professionalThis is a conversation I just had with two young ladies working near your electronics department. Apparently customer service and professionalism is not a priority at this Walmart. Welcome to Amsterdam!
Terrible. No one in pet section to help getting flea treatment product. (Was in locked case. The press for assistance button was either not working or no one cared to help. I looked for Walmart staff, no one was around.) As always, long lines for check out. (Only 2 checkouts open.) Locked entrance/exit doors. This was at approx. 8:15 am.
Its Walmart. Has anyone ever had an amazing experience at Walmart? However this trip was even more awful than average. I attempted to see if an employee coming out of the stock area could see if a particular yogurt was in the back as the shelf was bare. When I asked the young man, he said I dunno, i dont stock that area. Then he lingered for the briefest of moments and without nary another word, he turned around and walked away from me. So I then started walking to where I could hear another employee stocking. To my surprise the same, unhelpful chap was also making his way to the very same person. But I will give credit where credit is due, the next guy i spoke with was very helpful and used their little scanner to see if there was any stock in the back. Turns out there wasnt but that wasnt an issue. I guess I should know better than to expect good things from Walmart.
On a positive note...convince and good parking, no waiting to get in the store. Negatively speaking they shelves are sparse and a fourth of the items I was looking for was available. Replacement items were more costly. That being said some items had no replacement alternatives. The drawbacks of a small community I suppose. My focus for this trip was cleaning supplies, local honey, meats, dog food n treats. Health products
The Amsterdam walmart is absolutely terrible. Their customer service is awful. STAFF IS ALWAYS SO RUDE. Dont try and call cause you wont ever get an answer. Any time Ive called over the years Ive never gotten and answer and when I call I call every single department. They need to fire and hire new employees that actually care to do what they were hired for.
Called ahead for an electronics purchase and it took 15 minutes and getting disconnected to talk to someone. But the girl in customer service walked all the way back to electronics for me and found a really helpful guy who set aside the right product for me. When I got to the store he was nice enough to take it out of the package, plug it in for me, and make sure it was what I needed.
Im not a fan of Walmart to begin with so when I have to wait for people to clear a path because they have stopped for a personal conversation it makes it that much worse. The upside is that they did have all but two of the items in my list today. Two items is not had compared to the normal 5 or 6 items that I have to go without or go to another store anyway. I could substitute one of my items and the other I will just go without. The one stop shop is what I needed today, for time purposes, so that does mean that I will have to go back out again to get my other item. Ugh
I used pickup service today. Ordered on line, picked time and day to pickup. Got email item(s) were ready. If youre new to this you will need to have the walmart app installed. Click check in on email. Get to your store, grab an open pickup lane answer question on screen and someone will be right there with your stuff! They even put it all in your vehicle. Easy peasy!
We purchased a 50 TV which is for our security system. The TV was cracked. I tried calling any and all departments but no one answers the phone. Not even customer service. So called the corp. office to get help. The Amsterdam Walmart would not exchange the TV. They said I had to contact the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer and they said it was Walmarts responsibility. I called the Walmart in Amsterdam again. Any and all departments, no answer again. So the corp. office contacted them and told them to do an exchange. Someone went to the store to do the exchange. I was told by the person that took the TV to the exchange that they were really rude to her and told her she had to by another Plan for product protection or she couldnt take the TV. I recommend that no one shop at the Amsterdam NY Walmart there customer service is terrible. I would recommend also that they retrain everyone on customer service and being courteous!!!!!
Don’t use their grocery drop off service!!! Horrible service! It was supposed to be dropped off between 6-7pm it is almost 9:00pm I called the store the man who answered was rude and they said they didn’t have my order I gave them the order number and they were supposed to get back to me and no one did. They sure processed my payment though.Every one in my house is sick with COVID hence the reason why I was having the groceries delivered now what am I supposed to feed my kids? And for an order they never got the site still says preparing. This Walmart is a joke.
Probably the most terrible Walmart Ive been in and Ive been in a few to get help in this Walmart is like trying to pull a tooth out your all mouth with no tools to assist you on pulling that tooth it seems that people at this Walmart just wanna show up to get a check but do not want to help the customer talk to management about problems I had there before dont think they got remade very badd experience every time I go there
I ordered groceries online for delivery which i have many times before but this time i didnt receive my order i tried to call the store 7 times in fact im on hold as i write this this hold has exceeded 27 minutes so far with no answer i contacted walmart.com who also tried to reach out to the store but they also didnt get a answer this is frustrating i dont have the ability to run to the store so delivery is a great option when it works they took my money but didnt deliver to my address ~frustrated mom~
If I could leave a negative I would. Very poor customer service here. Tried calling the phone numerous times to get through to someone and nobody answers the phone. Tried for 2 hours straight to get through to someone. If you have questions you’re gonna have to go in and wait in a long line at customer service for people to be rude to you there. Extremely disappointed. Wish customer service was actually important to them.
I have used the service before Gloversville New Amsterdam with no issues but when it comes to the kids little snack packs with apples they gave me the day after my pick up was best day to you same thing with my berries they were moldy and my coleslaw package was due to expire that following day and was already looking will she so I was not a happy camper the only way to return is to go inside and wait in line and then I waited extra extra long because they could not find my order at all so theres issues I appreciate the service there are flaws room for improvement
I am here so often for my grocery pickups. They always have my time slot open and they are relatively quick with bringing out our grocery orders. Amsterdam walmart is massive, they have a large selection/variety of products, and they almost always have the products that I am looking for, in stock. Gloversville Wal-Mart, our other choice location to do our shopping, is frequently out of items that we are in dire need of and they almost never have a time slot available for the days or time slots that would work for us.
Customer in front of me was double scanned/charged for an item, she pointed it out as it happened. The Cashier bluntly denied it and kept going. After cashing out, the customer checked and immediately found and pointed out the double charge. The Cashier rudely told them they had to go over to the return desk to get a credit. Customer nicely said they could at least apologize, (exactly!). Manager was called, and was just as rude and defensive to the customer, took over for the cashier and had her go on break, sent the customer to the return desk still with no apology. I wish I had spoken up about it as I witnessed the whole thing, it was over the top awful customer service!
It’s pretty appalling to walk into a public place as busy as a Walmart and see more than half of the clientele and staff without masks during a global pandemic. There is no excuse for putting your other customers at risk, and management should be enforcing what you clearly have posted, especially with employees. We overheard an unmasked father berating his daughter for putting things in her mouth, which then ended up back on the shelves.
The best Walmart Ive been to. The aisles are always clean and their shelves are always stocked. The cashiers and staff are always friendly and extremely professional. This is the only Wal Mart where I dont experience an overwhelming surge of anxiety and instead feel calm and comfortable.
They actually had enough check out linez open to accommodate the flow.of tge store. That alons gets points in my book when I honestly cant remember entering a store and not wanting to leave immediately upon seeing only 1 or 2 lines open and customers backed up into the aisles.
If you bring your own bags be prepared to bag yourself as I was told because of covid or you can spend 5 cents a bag and theyll bag for you. Shame on Wal-Mart and any other store that if you bring your own bags then you have to bag yourself. Cheap is all you are. Wont be shopping there anymore
Extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional cashier and team leader. Ive never been spoken to so rudely in my life. I waited in the 20 items or less line for over 30 minutes. After waiting in line for 30 minutes the cashier told the people in front of us to put up the chain for no more customers. The people in front of us told her that Ive been waiting for the same 30 minutes they have. She proceeded to tell me she wasnt going to cash me out in a very rude manner. Then said the hell with my break, Im legally required to get a break. I asked for a manager. She said hes over there you can go find him. I told him the situation and he said cant you see were busy. He was standing at the front of the store with no customers. Iwas so upset with their tone, attitude and disrespect.I walked out with nothing. The team leader should have relieved her and checked us out and apologized.
Almost anything one could need under one roof. The remodel was much needed and is great. High viz signs make product areas easily identifiable at a glance. Electronics section looks modern/ high end and is enjoyable to browse. The new online order, store pick up system is a great time saver and you can have things not normally stocked in the store within a couple days. The only criticism would be that at times, there arent enough cashier lines open to handle the heavy business hours...but the wait really isnt all that long.
Absolutely appalled that a customer cannot check out at the self check out with over 20 items. We are in the middle of a pandemic and it should be the customers right if they feel like checking out their own groceries they should be able to. I would prefer not to have any employee touch my stuff anymore than they have already done so with stocking shelves.. I do not know where these employees have been before they came to work or if they’ve coughed or sneezed or whatever or how often they wear their masks or how often they don’t. Very upset and never shop here again.. as I have not In Gloversville/ Johnstown Walmart in over 3 months. Rude staff cause I was in line to check myself out.. can’t let you do it because over 20 items.wow what has the world come too. Still trying to figure out how to file a verbal complaint with somebody at Walmart
I am on a cane because of an auto accident I came in your store at I would say 7 ish there was no cartsLeft there wasnt even a wheelchairI could use and this is my Walmart onWashington Ave extension so I would hope you fix this problem so I like youre store its always clean some of your employees are helpful some are not so I give your store 45 Stars with-10 I will a just if I see an improvementThe end & be well
The store shelves are empty. I shopped there Monday. 10/12/20. This store i come out shaking my head the sheves are more empty now that when Covid srarted. People i didnt even know were complaining that nothing is stocked.Every aisle has empty shelves. It looks like the store is going out of business. This problem has been going on well before the Covid. Its loosing a lot of money.
They are always out of stuff. All kinds of different food items out of stock. Ive kept track for the last few months, and it just seems no matter what day or week of the month, a lot of times they have bare shelves. Almost as if a food shortage for the area. Many times it is disbelief that multiple items of a variety of different kinds if food.Plus Rarely can you find an associate, let alone an associate that actually has useful information on any products..
First their shelves for equate brand tylenol were basically empty. This seems to be common in the health and beauty sids section. Very very poorly stocked. Second it took four calls from the pharmacist and one call to the service desk from my cell phone AND 25 minutes to get someone to unlock the case in pharmacy so I could purchase an item. After checking myself out, right in front of a young man, I then get stopped my this young man to check my receipt to make sure I had paid for everything. I do not understand finding empty shelves, employees who dont care and on top of it to be treated as a thief at every turn. The Amsterdam Walmart is becoming a very very unpleasant place to shop. Oh and after I left. I tried to call back to speak with a manager and was left on hold for 24 minutes before I hung up because no one would answer the phone. The number you have so prominently posted at the exits in case a customer wants to callREALLY ?????
The cashiers are very slow I felt like my life was wasting away at a very slow rate of speed. If I only had an hour to live I would go to Walmart in Amsterdam because it would feel like an eternity. In Post I have decided to redact my 5 star review in favor of a one star review because of the time that was wasted.
Single-handed the worst Walmart around! I waited in line for 32 and 1/2 minutes as I watched the cashier bag everyones groceries like a sloth, so naturally I said, can we pick up the pace here? and his response was, to NOT bag my groceries and leave them on the Turn Style for me to bag!!! You can now call me Karen!
I like the store because it has a lot of things my local walmart (Cobleskill) doesnt have BUT, it seems like every time I take the 30 minute drive out there I have a bad experience.Sometimes they dont have things in stock that the website says they have, other times its rude customers or employees. Today the store was a mess, there were piles, carts and pallets of merchandise at almost every turn AND their card system was down so it was cash only.Nice store, not usually a good experience and sometimes a HUGE waste of my time!
An unbelievable nightmare of bad management! As always, the Amsterdam NY Walmart is a poorly stocked, poorly staffed, absolute horror of a retail failure. As a 25 year veteran of retail sales, management, and training, I cannot fathom how the management team here sleeps at night. This store is disgraceful!
10 Stars Ive never gave a Walmart even four stars before until I went to this one. It wasnt the idea that they couldnt find the things it was the professionalism that they gave us especially the assistant store manager Josh. He did everything in his power to help us with our issues which was awesome I said Im going to come back to your store again because you guys were the most friendly Walmart that Ive been to keep it up Ill be back to the store again
Had everything we were looking for except the portable air conditioner. No Long wait at the register, employees were super polite and helpful. Sometimes Walmart can look a hot mess on the weekends but I was truly surprised and highly recommend that people head on in to shop!
I didnt go in my GF went in for 4 items. On her way in, she stepped up to the service desk, was begrudgingly greeted. She told associate, she needed to pick up formula, could someone meet her at the LOCKED cabinet for formula. As she left the service desk PA announcement went over for what she had asked. After arriving, and waiting 15 minutes, she found an other associate. Again PA broadcast went over. Another 10 minutes, still no one. After an asst mgr. came up, then got them to find associate covering Dept to get service. Disgusting have to wait 45 minutes, to formula for family member.
Awful. They treat you like every one is a criminal from monitors telling me I am being recorded, to cashier aguring with me over legit coupons then searching my bags. Ridiculous!!!! Empty shelves as well. Wont be going back unless they have some super sale . Ill pay a few more pennies and go to Target across the street...
Took more than 10 minutes to find an associate to get something out of a locked case then the price at the register was $30 higher than the price on the shelf, when I brought attention to it the woman at the register gave me attitude because she didnt want to call a manager. After calling the manager it took them another 10 minutes to get to the register to adjust the price.
Walmart continues to amaze me at the way they are a pillar in our community, giving us access to food through many means. I use Walmart online and curbside pickup so I dont have to go into a store during the peak of this pandemic. Walmart and their team will always be associated with this pandemic as being the Angels who got my family through this crisis. They are keeping their prices low, allowing access to food without going into a store and guaranteeing the same quality even though we are all understanding during this crisis.
Simply put, its Walmart. If you arent there before 10am, chances are high that what you came for isnt available. And forget shopping on the first weekend of the month, or after 7pm on any night. The pick up service is the worst thing that came to the store. The associates that do it are rude and place there carts in the middle of the aisles, making it difficult for normal customers who go in to get around them. They also, tend to leave there carts in front of sections and walk further down the aisle.... making you wait for them to return so you can get what you want (if you move the cart, you get the evil eye.) and, dont even think about asking one of the in-store shoppers for help. They cant be bothered to take the time and help, they act like customer service isnt in their job. Ive seen them talking on there phone, listening to music and chatting with friends. On top of this, Walmart has now gotten this brilliant idea to ask everyone for their receipt upon leaving the store. Which, because this isnt a paid membership its just WALMART is illegal. Everytime, everything in my cart is in a bag, theres nothing big theres no need for my receipt to be checked & theres been no suspicious activity during my shopping trip. Leave me alone.Basically, Im done with this store. Its just the cheapest in the area....which makes it to hard to boycott.
This is a typical super Wal-Mart. It has good food(s) and your variety of market sections with decent prices. There is also a Subway, tax preparation service store, and eye ware store in the front of the store. I would have gave it a better rating if there were ever more lanes to cash out available for faster checkout and the customer service could be a little better as well.
This place has gone to hell waited in line for 1/2 hour to get checked out today, employees standing around when they should be doing something like running the check outs, to get customers out of there. Only 5 checkout counters were open. Not very happy with this place.
Purpose of visit was to buy provecta 3. This product is kept in locked case. An associate was paged 3 times over 20 minutes. No one ever showed up!!! While waiting after the 4th page, I ordered it from Amazon. BTW Amazon was almost $10.00 cheaper. Two stars because they actually had the product.
Decent place to shop. Prices are good. However, there are NEVER associates in specific departments when you need them. This is an area that seems to be a problem in many Wal-Mart stores. Customer service level is not on par with other Super Markets and Retail stores.
The employees working at the Customer service desk in the Amsterdam Walmart supercenter are the most disrespectful group of women I have ever met in my life. The team leader does not care about the customers or the service she is supposed to be providing. She is not willing to help accommodate your issues and is the most lazy, disrespectful woman I have ever encountered in my entire life.
Worst experience ever an employee who seems to have a disability constantly harasses me and asks if I speak Spanish on multiple occasions I have told him I dont and then he continues to ask if I know how to check out at self checkout. Another time an over sized Walmart employee elderly woman who could barely breath kept eyeing my family and I and accused us of POSSIBLY stealing and even put her hands in our already bagged and paid for items. Walmarts stores are usually great but shouldnt have to deal with this garbage
I walked into the Walmart supercenter in Amsterdam New York today to bring two of my kids in for an eye exam walk in and the gentleman at the counter sadly I didnt get his name was extremely rude huffy and puffy about it and the simple fact that he was acting that way was a huge turn off! The man did not have to have such a poor attitude towards myself and my family and I will be sure to let everybody know in the area to never ever step foot in that place again for an eye exam or for any reason needed!
I hate this store..... When I have to go inside.it stresses me out. Its crazy packed with people all the time. There doesnt seem too be enough employees to run the store. The aisles are cluttered and disorganized making finding the items I need even more difficult. When you do find an employee they are usually too busy carrying on non work related, personal, and often inappropriate conversations with other employees to be of any help to me. The majority if employees I have experience with in the store are rude and unknowledgeable about the products the store carries or placement of said items. Thete are never enough checkout lanes available. I avoid going inside walmart as much as humanly possible. However, walmart does have good prices and for lack of anywhere else to shop I must endure. I shop online as often as I can. I have also started pre ordering my groceries for pickup. I Love this service. My groceries are ready at the time I specify, the worker brings then right to my car and even loads my items in my car. The people who work the order pickup area are fantastic! I will only use the online order of my groceries from now on. It severely limits my in store times and greatly reduces my stress.
Its ok. Most employees are very nice , helpful and they actually take time to show one where an item is rather then go down this isle take a right and the next thing ya know you have no clue where you are. But thats only happened a couple of times. In general they are GD. 😉Thank you for yourHospitality Walmart 💖
I have never been a Walmart shopper. I get frustrated Everytime I walk in the door. The employees are rude and unhelpful... The general customer mindsets are that if those who are dependent on society to feed their children, without having to work for themselves. There are fights between customers, personal and inappropriate conversations between workers. The store is disgusting. And there are 30 checkout line with only ever 1 open. This store sucks.
Customer Service could not help and directed me to call there supervisors regarding an issue Ive had there frequently. Stating I have to call, fill a complaint to Walmart supervisors. Perhaps they fix the issue that is reoccurring. Paypal suggests getting cash off the app at Walmart Customer Service; given Walmart Customer Service could not do this is am issue.Recently I had a bag break will buying glass containers on my way out of the store. Also noticed another mess previously in the store. Notably: displeased with the trash people leave on the shelves.Walmart also had a lack of variety in mens deodorant.
For the past few months the experience at this particular Walmart in Amsterdam ny on rt 30 sucked. The bottle machines are constantly full, and when you go to customer service to get some one to help, no one ever comes. Twenty minutes I waited yesterday for a bottle clerk to show up and still no one came. I even called the assistant manager of the store from my cell phone while I was waiting. He said ohh I’m sorry sir, someone will be right out there. Fifteen minutes later, Still no one ever came. Complete incompetents on the Mananger and bottle clerk. Also, Sanitary wipes are always empty. It’s a health hazard not to have them filled up. Wiping down the cart is important do to all these diseases going around. It’s quite disgusting that I have to put my hands on a filthy cart after hundreds of people touched it. I’ll be calling the health department about that issue this week. I will also be calling the district manager of this store. Enough is enough. A multi million or billion dollar company and they can’t even get the simplest things right. Complete disgrace and incompetents.
Today was a horrible day at walmart for me and my sister and nephew. The employees are extremely rude, miserable and unprofessional. We went to cash out in the 20 items or less line with me having 14 items and my sister having 17. The lady refused to cash us out and tried to make us go to a different line. She caused a scene and all the other customers in line ended up leaving. She was a spanish lady and was acting trashy like she didn’t care about her job at all. When the manager came over she made the trashy lady leave and had someone pleasant named angie cash us out. But management was also very unprofessional. All she did was make excuses for the trashy employee and we never even got an apology. Only one that apologized was angie and she wasn’t even a part of the unprofessional rude attack made towards me and my sister. I have mine and my sisters reciepts showing exactly how many items we both had, i will be making a formal complaint to corporate about this incident i think it’s very sad customers have to be treated that way by an emoloyee. Shame on you walmart.
Staff has gotten more professional over the past year or so....less gossiping and personal talk at the front registers. It used to be REALLY bad, and awkward, hence the lower rating. My last 2 visits showed improvement, but there is a tall guy in the pharmacy, dark hair and ear piercings, who likes to pretend the people in line are invisible. Even just a politeIll be with you in one-two minutes. would be better than his deliberate back turning. He doesnt always go to finish anything either. Sometimes he just drifts back to chat with a pharmacy tech, or continue a conversation. He makes every person in line wait. This happens between EVERY customer, even those like me who are not picking up a prescription. Very rude.
It was horrible! I went to exchange some clothing, and one I wanted my money back for.on a pair of sweatpants that were 14 something, the were going to giveMe 10 something back.they stated after my discount card, that was all I was due.it was ridiculous! After a big argument and 3 cashiers, and lots of time later, it was finally straightened out. I left very upset and in tears. I dont recommend Amsterdam walmart. What happened to curtousy? Common sense?
3 people, 1 being a customer service manager, and the other 2 in electronics, not sure if one was a manager or not told me yesterday that i could bring back a tv that i bought on December 21st because they have a 90 day or less policy on tvs. Their wesite states and i quote tvs can be returned within 90 days whether the box is open or not with a receipt you can return it for reimbursement as cash, or if it was put on a credit card, the card will be credited. Without a receipt you will only receive store credit for the amount the item is selling for at the time. Well low and behold brought it back and was told it only had a 15 day policy. What. Never buy electronics there people
I was in garden center...Long lines ...long wait.. a staff standing around on his phone...while check out girl cashed out every person and left her station to let people out...unlock door. Unreal. Finally a customer walked over to the young man on his phone and told him he should be helping the cashier.
Will never go to the deli here again. Not only did I stand and wait 20+ minutes for two different kinds of sandwich meat but THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG KIND. After asking me 3 times what kind I would like. PAY ATTENTION. (And there was only myself and one other woman getting stuff. Two workers were on)
Its a Walmart. Still not fond of the lack of standardization between stores. Have been trying to buy something out of the jewelry case for almost 2 month now my fiance wanted and the key holder apparently works hours that make it impossible for someone with a day job to shop. The sour attitude of the staff has lead me to leave my cart at the register and take my business elsewhere more than once. Did give some stars because if you are in a pinch and need an obscure or semi specialist item, chances are you can find it where all their competition lacks.
Every SINGLE time I go there .. They are out of regular grocery items. When I ask an associate their response is its on back order. When I asked a manager today, was cold Walmart no longer is going to carry certain products I asked him if he could check another store for me he said no Walmart is carrying them, I went to another Walmart 29 miles from here in purchase everything I asked him for
Customers were allowed in without face masks 6ft apart wasnt kept in check the customers were going through aisles wrong way carts and conveyors werent being sanitized associates were just walking back and forth around the store as if they were doing something but then gathered around an empty register socializing only get 2 stars because the associate cashier was pleasant and apologetic otherwise there would be no stars.
It is Walmart and as long as you know where to find what you need you will be okay otherwise you may not find an employee that can help you. The employees are either busy working yet you dont see many besides cashiers and those in customer service or photo. The management is not the best and when needed take a while to answer.to cashiers. This walmart has so many cash registers yet most are always closed, luckily they put the self service machines and that is a better way to check out.
This poor new girl working the cash register tonight needed help and the rude old lady named Catherine had to be tracked down by a customer, when she finally came over she was extremely rude to the cashier, telling her she needs to page her, which the girl did.. i was seriously disgusted with the way a Walmart employee was treated by another walmart employee... if she is new why wasnt someone close by to help her? She was lucky all the customers in line were nice and understanding. She was sweet and very apologetic. I feel sorry for all walmart employees, if thats how theyre treated in front of customers i can only imagine what goes on away from them... disgusting. I was very please with how nice and helpful the stock girl named Desiree was, i asked her where the honey was and she kindly pointed me in the right direction. Only good thing about my experience tonight. I think Id rather pay the extra money at Target.
Went in brought my groceries came out was asked to show my receipt and said kindly no thank you and in return I was told Im a thief and was keeped from leavening the stores buy the greater to I walked thoo them why his daughter that was thier visiting was screaming that Im a thief will never show my receipt its my right.
The Amsterdam Walmart has it all from electronics to food. The selection of products are great, the prices good, and you don’t have to go far to find what you need. The in store pick up is my go to. I buy something cheaper online, then pick it up at the store. The staff are helpful, and some speak Spanish as well. To me the diversity is a plus. The only thing that hurts this store are the check out lanes. The self service helps, but still there are lines when you least expect them.
I shop here about 5 times a week, but only because of the prices. A very good deal of employees working here are just horribly trained, lack basic manners and many can barely speak English. One of them CANT speak English at all, which is inexcusable and baffling in a customer service position in America. I do not blame anyone for not wanted to enter this place. I am so used to it, though, that it really doesnt faze me. But I can see where someone unfamiliar with the place would be just shocked, to put it mildly, and want to go elsewhere. Rudeness and lack of basic English are only at the tip of this gigantic iceberg.
This is the worst walmart I have ever been in, they have no carts most of the time, and when you ask about it they shrug there shoulders like they could care less, all the self checkouts are open, but registers not maybe 1 or 2 when you ask if they could open one, again shrug there shoulders and, do not care that the line is very long, it is not very pleasant to shop there, and they do not care if they wipe things down in between customers, the attitude of these employees is very terrible, makes me not even want to shop there,
I hate Walmart. They are always out of the things I need. Most people are rude (customers, not associates). If you need help, no one is around. Quite often items ring up different at the register than what the label on the shelf says. Its worth paying a little more to avoiding this place.
I have never seen such poor customer service . For whatever reason after 9pm the lines are out the door ...it is not the fault of employees but management . There are 4 people standing at the door making sure you paid for all your merchandise but no one to ring you out ....ongoing problem at this location for years
Half way done with my shopping i needed a $13 bottle of perfume after searching the store to find someone to open the case the associate who helped me had to escort me to a register I wasnt done shopping but I just left and wont be back .You stand in line for 20 because they have 4 registers open and then have to stand in line again to get your bags checked.
Thought I would try their Express Delivery trial. So far all 3 orders last couple of weeks were not on time, items were forgotten and last order not even delivered yet and it was to be delivered yesterday. Have to say the service is worthless and it is frustrating when no one is answering the phone at the Amsterdam NY location for over 24 hours now. Going back to SHIPT!
The store has a wide variety of things you need, kinda a 1 stop shop for most things...the reason i gave them a 3 🌟 rating is due to how big of a pain in the neck the pharmacy is....always some kind of problem, and i wont get started on their attitudes....the manager of the pharmacy is nice and most of the actual pharmacists are but the techs act as if they are annoyed that your bothering them! CUSTOMER service.....
The Amsterdam Walmart is NOT their best store, to be sure. Not as clean as it could be. Quite a few of the employees are rude more often than not. When a product runs out, they are very slow in getting more. Not sure I would go here if it wasnt for the fact that its so close to home.
I love Walmart in Gloversville, but they end up losing great people because a manger breaks Walmart rules, hurts people buy yelling at them in front of customers, talks behind employees backs, and tell all their issues to others employees, and in front of customers!!! She should have been fired, but instead she pushes great employees to quit!!!!!
We were just trying to hold a coin drive for the animal shelter in front of the store. Gloversville walmart has been exceptionally helpful to us in our fundraising efforts. I called the Amsterdam store several times. Each time getting put on hold for an extended period of time when the associates knew the person I was looking to speak with was not available. I am just wondering why no one could have told me the person was not available instead of placing me on hold, waiting for me to hang up on my own so they did not have to deal with me. It is very confusing. I hung up and called back and a woman answered the phone. I told her who I was and asked her what was going on because I had been placed on hold for such a long time. With an attitude, she interrupts me while Im speaking and says Well I can tell you right now the person you need to speak with is not here. Call back in the morning. I for some unknown reason did call back....I got the person I needed who was also not really wanting to deal with me and was very evident about it. I tried to get a fax number from another associate just this morning and was told she couldnt fax me a form because she is not personnel. Four times I called and got people who would have rather been doing anything else but trying to help me....
Your basic Walmart with all the cheap merchandise youd ever need. The only downside is the cashiers are a bit sluggish, and the other shoppers arent so pleasant, ie. mothers swearing at their children or letting them cry for 10 minutes in line. But you cant expect classy people from Walmart all the time.
Walmart greeter rudely said gotta receipt for that thumbing on my A/C. First of all Beavis, whi steals an A/C and if I didnt give cause to check my stuff, which I didnt you shouldnt be holding people up because it makes you feel manly to waste customers time. Ill stick with Amazon and the grocery store here on out. Better prices on Amazon anyways.
Walmart & main steam news seems to think Americans want cheap products. Simply not true (False) Truth is we dont want cheap garbage that breaks or has problems. We would rather buy American made or A well made product that last a long time. In the long run to save a few dollars its not worth the hasal. To have to return or keep buying same product over & over.
Automotive department is terrible. Unfriendly and lazy. I walked in, no other person in front of me and I needed my snow tires put on and an oil change. I also needed an inspection. The guy says We dont do inspections, you want to go somewhere else? I said no and asked how much it was to put the tires on (I brought in snow tires). Once he told me I said man that sounds expensive. The guys say and I quote, you can go somewhere else. I should have but decided to go ahead. He says it will be 40 minutes. I come back an hour later and it wasnt done. Said it was gonna be another 30 minutes. I said but you guys said 40 minutes an hour ago. He then says a lot of people showed up behind me thats why its taking longer. Think about it, what sense does that make? If they showed up behind me, I am still ahead of them so it shouldnt take longer. Convenient but rude. May or may not be back.
I would put no stars if I could....bought a new fish for my son, because he wanted a certain kind I couldnt find elsewhere (the aquarium was brand New, so I thought it would be OK, otherwise I Never buy fish from Walmart) 2 weeks later the fish had Ick disease.... I did Everything that I could to save him (I am lucky that I quarantined him, because he was going to go with my other pond fish) that same night....the day after I realized what was going on and bought stuff FROM WAL-MART....my son had to watch the fish die...... they said ....oh we will give you a $25 gift card......well after the cost of treating a 65 gallon tank....getting rid of pond rocks..marbles...and Very expensive decorations...and live plants.... $25 doesnt come Close to the cost I lost.....not only that.... I have 5 other pond fish that have to go back in this infected tank soon.....which means this will be a Very Long Process or my 5 other fish that I have had for years will be dead too.
This is for a fact the worst Wal-Mart i have ever had the misfortune to enter.Recently moved to the area and as a faithful Wal-Mart shopper i began to pick up my usual routines and shopping habits locally. I can honestly say every single visit to this horrible walmart has left me with awful and poor experiences so much that i have found my self across the road spending more at target and other stores by choice just to avoid the awful interactions and service at this Wal-Mart.On my very first visit to this Wal-Mart i had the misfortune of coming face to face with a nasty woman named VIRGINIA who somehow made it to a manager position here, anywho the lines were backed up in every isle to the clothing racks behind it and they were inexcusably understaffed.I looked through the front scanning over which check out lane would be my best bet to get in and out of this war zone they call Amsterdam Wal-Mart,i then seen the customer service desk and cut through to ask one of the two women if they would mind checking me out the woman VIRGINIA rolled her eyes, huffed and began checking out the three small items i had.She then pulled a pre used Wal-Mart bag covered in dust and a brown smudge on the side i kindly asked her not to use the pre used bag and offered to go grab a few from a register close by for her she then said NO,IM USING THIS ONE I then firmly asked her not to and explained my dust allergy and the fact that bed bugs can sit in the pre used bags and she then told me she doesnt care slid the two bags across the counter, smiled and said goodbye turned her back and walked away.As i was leaving i told her this was the nastiest customer service experience i have ever had and to come from a woman in a management position at that.Oh but thats not it if you go to this location regularly you can watch the same woman VIRGINIA belittling and publicly humiliating her fellow employees (mostly women) in front of customers...even calling the employees to come to her as if they were dogs. After a few visits to this horrible walmart you will come to understand why they are so understaffed, why they sell expired food and why most of the employees appear so miserable. The environment that this woman is creating under her dictatorship has caused a domino effect of poor sale quality, lack of ethics, organization and poor employee turn over rate.Who should be and who i have seen working very hard is an orange haired woman with piercings that is always polite and always hard at work.To bad no one is paying attention to who really deserves employment opportunities and just hands them off to whom ever hits the standard requirements laid out in paper work. Ive studied Business at Hudson Valley and this woman takes the cake for everything a manager should NOT do or be.I feel awful for her employees my heart really goes out to them and the customers that happen to cross this demons path may god save her angry soul.
One again proud Walmart associates put in store policy over customer service. I went to pick up a dress from a site to store order at the pick up center in back. Shortly before arrival, my wife had already added me to the alternate pick up person on the Walmart list AND I had received a notification that item was ready for pick up. Upon arrival, the associate told me I was NOT on their list and could not pick up said item. After 2 managers and 3 store associates, I proceeded to show them a screen print of the added pick up contacts and even that was not good enough per policy. My address and the customer order address match, my wife sent a text to confirm ok to pick up, but NO, store policy wont allow it.An associate and a manager walked away and never returned while I thought I was waiting for an answer to a question. 35 min. later , really an hour after the initial update, I was able to get my item , ready....a $9.00 dress....Really?
Compared to other Walmarts Ive shopped the Amsterdam store is by far the better store. I found what I needed and when I looked for Electronics they were in stock, which to me was a surprise because other Wal-Marts I have shopped didnt make it a priority to stock on sale or roll back items. They didnt even stock regular prices items regularity

2022-06-13Store employees are always in the way, expect you to go around them, carry on their own personal conversations in Spanish and give you a bit of an attitude if you need help. We go there because their grocery and meat prices are better than surrounding stores

2020-07-17This location is keeping their entire store very clean and sanitary. Prices are as expected for most items. This store can become very busy and crowded. They do have plenty of parking.

2022-03-01Absolutely the worst supposed new rules at the pharmacy. According to the manager, Walmart has been being sued over deaths from prescription overdoses. So now, in addition to the prescription being sent in electronically, they also need to speak with the Dr in person, to reconfirm they sent in correct script??? Totally ridiculous.

2022-01-20It was 9pm, they only had one person checking people out and she was brand new. Was told we had too much stuff for self checkout. Was in the line for an hour. Multiple staff just there not really working but walking around. Like they could’ve opened another register or at least helped the new girl struggling to get things done. I wasn’t about to leave and waste the time I had grocery shopped and needed the food. Ridiculous.

2020-12-10Great Walmart, Great people, open 24 Hrs. which always helps. The self checkout is open 24 hrs which is also a plus. They have a subway inside so you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner while /after doing your shopping. They have a Rubbi Coffee Kiosk in the vestibule on the market side so if you need a pick me up before or after your shopping trip your good. They always have a good selection of items on clearance (foods and non food items). Its a Walmart super center, so obviously they have everything you could need /want from your local supermarket/retail store.Update: They now offer online Grocery so if you dont feel like going inside to do your shopping or just dont have the time/energy you can now do all your shopping right from your computer/phone while at home or on your lunch break. Just choose a time thats convenient for you and they will have it all ready for you and will even bring it out to your car.Ive heard Grocery delivery is in the works for the near future, but not available in Amsterdam NY yet, but soon enough Im sure
