Talk about RUDE..... these 1st shift ladies shouldnt be working with the public on ANY level. Extremely rude, snotty, and unwilling to be helpful, in any sense of the word.
Great service in Grocery pickup and jessica melissa and nick are awesome...the hair cutting place in this walmart wonderfull they get a million thumbs up from me...all happy to help and they all did an awesome job caring for customer needs
Very clean, respectful.. I have a walmart credit card, and walmart plus so Im able to just point at items, buy them and just walk out. The recipt is automatically emailed to you.
CAW. Better than most walmarts around this area (looking at you north utica) with a mixed bag of employees in a nice clean well lit environment. My only problem is that some of the aisles are WAY to small. People around this area are very selfish and like hogging the whole aisle sometimes caw caw.Last thing caw caw, not a fan of employees pushing people into self checkout lines. I dont feel like doing someones job of cashing myself out when I get off a ten hour shift from work. The extra punch in the stomach is when I see the employees on their phones while Im cashing myself out. Glad your getting paid to watch me do your work.
I was grocery shopping and there was a DEAD ANT in my sub and moldy meat cleanliness is ok if the store cashier fairly frendliy
Was happy to see actual cashiers at Christmas time. But still not enough. Ended up at self check out cause the line was faster. But for handicap people self check out is difficult. So is waiting in long lines for slow cashiers

The store is very busy location. Felt like a black Friday. I could not believe how crowded it was. Ive been to several different wm locations and this one has the busiest Ive ever seen !!

Deli isnt open until 10 am. Many shelves in the meat counter are empty. Well its been awhile but everything is in better shape now!!
They dont seem to have enough stock,and there arent enough people running the cash registers,I am not checking myself out,thats not my job,I dont get paid to do that

Usually shopping is very good there just wish it was not so confusing to find anything and please stop going up on prices of things. Went there last week and it was soo much better than recent visits. I bought turkey and ham from the deli which is very tasty and i mananged to get some perfect bananas. The time i spent in store was nice and only took 2hrs🙂

I had an appointment at the eye care center, and they were very friendly and very professional and very helpful 🙂 definitely will be going there again.
Like most people, we stop here for low prices and when in need of multiple items of different types. I try to stick to a local butcher or business if need of only a certain thing. Most items bought here are decent though. Only have to return maybe 10% of items due to damage or missing parts. You get what you pay for.
Walmart is great, everything I need all in one place. Great employees who are very respectful of peoples needs. Its our babys favorite place to go.. Thanks WALMART!
This store was a disaster! Food and clothes on the floor... but there were 6 employees pulling items for quick-list. Only 2 registers open.... and there were at least 6 people in each line. No attempt to open more, they want to force ya to use self check out.Dont go.... save time....and use a store that appreciates its customers!!
Walmart is.... walmart. Depending on which one I go to, most of the time the items I need are in stock and I even find a lot of things I was not shopping for but have to pick up while they have it! Great selection of brands to choose from. Clothing is a little, out there for me at the moment, nothing really my style but that is all personal taste. The only complaint I really have is just about the people shopping which is no fault of the store, overall decent shopping and quick checkout process with self check out as well.

Walmart has been my favorite store for years I spend so much money at Walmart in a month. I get everything thing there that’s why I love it. So I was cashing out yesterday and there a few other customers cashing out in a self checkout but the self checkout attendant was leaning on on if the registers just watching me as if I was stealing. My mother and my self shared a cart I cashed out first and my mother was going after me. I didn’t even finished my transaction before I was confronted by the attendant in a very disrespectful manner. I couldn’t believe she was so disrespectful. She was telling other customers that we were stealing. I’ve never been openly racial profiled until yesterday. She began to argue with and I told her she was very unprofessional and I would like if she didn’t say anything else to me she told me “I can talk to you if I want to” “if you don’t like if it you could go through a line or come to self checkout and I’m going to watch you every time. The whole time there are other customers around and was yet again not watching there transactions or cleaning the register off. I did speak to a manger but the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth I spend my hard earned money there in a time like this in the world and that’s the customer service I get.
I went to ask a lady that worked here for help, she was standing with her friend chatting and when I went up to her, she said she did not have patience today and walked away
My car needed an oil change and I was on my way home and had to pass Walmart on the way. So I stopped in and grabbed my oil filter and oil that I needed. Luckily with shortage of everything my oil filter was available. Between the oil filter and the oil I must have spent about 60 bucks. Im not sure if thats a good price or not but I do enjoy hitting up Walmart on my way home for the convenience of self checkout and not having to wait in line. I also get my snow tires here and cant wait to get a new pair this year. Gives me a sense of safety, reliability, and insurance that guarantees I can stay on the road and keep going.

I found exactly what I needed. The store was extremely clean and organized. I couldnt find help when I needed it in the jewelry department. However I got help right away in the hair care section. I was able to get everything that I needed other than a ring/jewelry box. Thats the only reason that I am giving 4 stars instead 5.
A hit on my list. I really enjoyed the atmosphere there.My cats did not like the cat food. Better grade animal food is needed.
Tim was a blessing! My boyfriend and I got locked out of our car with our phones inside of it and he saw him struggling to get them out and he completely ran everywhere in the store too get something to pull the keys out and did! If it wasn’t for him we would’ve been stuck there, also all the customers service girls didn’t catch their names were so nice and let me use their customer service phone too call people❤️

The One Type of Store with everything you may need. But this Rome, NY Location does have bad service. Many of the associates are downright unhelpful and have bad attitude. You will find the occasional type of associate willing to do all they possibly can to help you; so just keep asking as many associates as it takes in order to help you find whatever it is you need.
Ive noticed a big improvement in staff willingness to stop whatever their doing and assist you. Ive experienced this several times, great job and great staff. Overall the layout is good with plenty of space and well lit.
I love shopping Walmart but there is never anybody there when I need to find something and just recently I bought a backup camera that does not work but because I did not have the box I could not return it other than that Walmart is a good store

I have used both delivery and pick up. Both have been very good. Substitutions, if any, have been good, and any associates have always been helpful. Ive not been in this Walmart since early last year, so cannot say anything about the inside.
This stores photo center is HORRIBLE!!! Every time I order something from here there Is always an issue. Rude employees. The grocery part of the store and pick up are great. That photo center needs a major adjustment

Rome Supercenter is one of the best Walmart stores in Upstate New York. The staff are always friendly, polite,knowledgeable and very professional.I recently went to pickup my medication and made a stop at the mens room. As I washed my hands and went to wipe them off, my gold ring thats a family heirloom slipped off my finger and I threw it in the trash. When I got home, I realized that it was gone. I called customer service and spoke with a young man named Dre and told him that I lost the gold ring and believed that I threw it away in the mens room after drying my hands with paper towels.Dre told me that he would immediately go search for it. About 10 minutes later, he called me back to say that he found it.I was shocked and pleased at his determination and honesty.In todays world, those traits arent always practiced and he could of easily pocketed it, then sold it for probably a few hundred dollars but instead he did the right thing.I applaud his honesty and moral upbringing. A young man that will go far in life. Thank you Dre!
Quality of meat and vegetables is very poor. Customer service is the worst Ive dealt with in any store. Very few employees are of any help. Usually standing around conversing with other employees taking up space in isles. Ive not had a good experience in the Rome walmart.
I was harassed, profiled and treated like a common thief while I did their job and self checked out! For now on I will have the cashier do their job and just complain when there is only 2 registers open and a line clear down the end of the store!
Trips too this store can be very nice as long as you keep an eye on the parking lot to Guage customer activity. Sometimes it can be a zoo but I usually dont have any problems here.

This Wal-Mart is a joke, never been more displeased. To travel almost an hour to that particular store to purchase an item that i called in advanced that day and was told that it was there, and didnt need to reserve one cause there was plenty of that particular item. Only to discover that I had been decieved and there were none to begin with.
The store is, overall, very nice, but there is one slight issue. There is an employee by electronics that is a bit on the rude side. I asked for ink and he gave the wrong one with a bit of an attitude. He also denied us a cart for furniture when a manager walked by a few minutes later and gave us one. He didnt just do this to me, he did it to others as well. Other than that, the store quality is nice and the abundance of products makes it easy to shop for more than just a typical grocery list.
TThe place and prices are always good .Quite a few employees and management however .to them there right and customers needs and professionalism of qhen wall mart is wrong however is not the case . Very rude and dontSmaller companies care cause they need the customers. Wallmart here does notAbsolutely pathetic this wall mart and employees obviously, theres a virus going around and Im here now and just counted 8 ppl and 1 employee not wearing mask nor have them visible at all 3 employees walked past 2 ppl who didnt have mask on at all didnt say a word how pathetic the employees and ppl are ,
This store is usually pretty clean and the customer service is good. I would have given 5 stars, but I find more often lately, that I find empty shelves where I should be finding what I need. They are not holiday or huge demand items either.

Really clean, no lines, friendly staff! Everyone says hello stops what theyre doing and even has a conversation and theyll bring you to an item you cant find. Great WalMart!
This Walmart is horrible. They always are out of stock or discontinue products people actually use. Shelves are bare because they stock from a warehouse over 3 hours away, yet there is one 15 miles from this store.The refrigerated and freezer areas usually have issues with the coolers leaking water all over, so they use the custodial broom attachments to soak it all up.The idea of clearance at this Walmart in the eyes of the Walmart corporation is 1¢ off the original price. Ive actually seen that in this store. Dont expect prices to drop on clearance much further, they dont usually drop like most stores.The store is run down and should be demolished and rebuilt. Corporate Walmart really needs to get it together
Today, 12/19/20 at 10:30 or so, while cashing out I was treated in a most favorable, positive way by the Cashier...very help full lady. Her name was Antonette I believe...great attitude! I was very impressed....
I went to Rome store today to buy electronics. Electronics representative by the name of JESS treated me like I am some kind of child. She was unbearably rude and abnoxious. I am filing corporate complaint about her and the department. Jess from electonics should never work around people, with her horrible attitude the most she should do is janitor job.

Its okay far as walmart goes but it said on their website that they had baseball cards in stock so I drove 45 minutes out of the way to get some . When I get there the shelves were empty and I was told their were none in the store . I showed the employee the website showed they were in stock but yet I left empty handed . Not only did I leave empty handed but spent 1 1/2 hours driving and blowing my gas money for nothing . It completely ruined my day . I was so excited to get cards to open with my son and told him we finally found 4 topps holiday blasters , two each . Their substandard website made me a liar , thanks Walmart . I guess they just dont think the customers time is valuable .I doubt Ill be going back , eBay is cheaper anyway .

The store is much cleaner now then is was last year. Also the order pickup employees are very friendly and will bag your groceries if you provide the bags. The store itself seems understaffed in sporting goods, paint, and vehicle service. Also there should be more cashiers available.

I always use the self checkout (as Im OCD and love having the ability to pack my groceries to my specifications. The associate covering the self checkouts was friendly, helpful and attentive.
Ordered groceries online, reservered a time slot and within 5 minutes they were loading my order in my vehicle. Very convenient way to shop
Always good for me. I really wish they could extend their hours. Working afternoon shift limits shopping. We get off shift at 11pm. It was so convenient to shop after work.
Finally keeping the Dr. Thunder in stock. The smell is gone from what I can tell as well, they must have fixed the issue from redoing their floors. The place always seems clean and good prices are always there. I prefer pickup now, but have found myself much more willing to go inside for the smaller stuff instead recently.

Purchased last minute school supplies for my kids. We needed to buy a desk chair for my daughter. A young man Emilio (I hope I have it right 🤔) was so helpful. He sat in the chairs and showed my daughter how to work all the knobs and handles. He was such a great help.

The tall door greeter with the glasses and dark curly hair is such a nice fella!! He’s always so polite and welcoming!! There are actually a few door greeters there that are always super nice.
I was able to find some pioneer woman items to add to my collection so it was a good day! Wish they had more in stock tho.

Do not use Walmart pick up/ delivery. I placed an order last night. And have been waiting home all morning for my order which was scheduled 10-11am. I called after 11 to find out where my order was. And only then did they decide to inform the customer that they were a third party. And didnt have a driver accept the delivery yet!!! Would be nice if you cared about your customers time. And had called to inform us that the order would not be there in the time we had picked. I waited home because I was waiting for the delivery. Then to come pick up the order becasue I didnt want to wait and to be told they have no control over it. And blew it off. Very dissatisfied in that type or treatment and service. Will definitely be spreading the word about this.
Well, the shelves seem to be bare anytime I shop at this store or any otherWalmart. Not sure if they have a hard time getting/keeping help. Ive also noticed that a lot of their Walmart brand products that I buy keep disappearing.They also brought back some Quorn products that they stopped selling a few years back, that is awesome so I dont have to go to a specialty store. The help is usually friendly and accommodating.
I prefer this Walmart over the one a mile from my house. The associated have always been friendly and helped when I needed the assistance. I even get my DC MacFarlane figures here. The same old things just dont sit around. Better selection here as well.
Walmart is hit or miss on prices, canned foods, dry foods and other food products are priced reasonably. The produce and meats are pricey and I can get better products for better prices at other local stores.

Needs improvement. I was in electronics waiting for an associate to open the case, when an associate waved and walked right past me. How was I supposed to get what I needed when it was locked up? To sum it up folks, I ended up going to Lowes for my small appliances and Tops for my groceries. I guess I would rather pay the extra for good customer service.

The new floors give it a nice modern clean look. Still it is woefully understaffed. There are always only a few registers open, unless you want to go to the self check out. The deli is meh. Below average. The bakery is about the same. This store gets the job done that is about it.
Needs to schedule appointments for the auto care center so people arent sitting around waiting 3.5 hrs to have tires installed. Everywhere else around schedules appointments now due to pandemic and Walmart CANT due to pandemic.Needs to hire more technicians aswell. Was told they open at 8 am and they never opened until noon today.
Some of cashiers are very rude.did not wipe belt for groceries adkef if they were n she said no. Didnt smile or say hello. These young cadhiers should get a little ettiquette on customer service.
I was able to get in and out quickly the self serve register are great the only neg. Is the workers picking the orders are not aware of there surrounding so they seem to cut you off and dont think nothing of it,
If I could give it a zero I would.The store was completely empty, no food on the shelves. This took place on Friday 1/8 at around 5pm. They were short of staff, which is another matter. Call in other staff that actually want to work if thats the case.Disgraceful.

Every time I finally get used to things being in a specific spot they change the layout again and I cant find anything!!!! Sooooo frustrating!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE their grocery pickup!!!! Love having them shop for me and theyre extremely accurate!!!! They just need to have more slots per hour.
Very helpful, fully stocked & the cashier sprayed down the convaer belt before I placed my groceries on it! As a past Resptory Teck I recommend wairing disposable gloves into any location & removal of them before you open your car door, throw them in the garage, conveniently found outside of most stores. Stay heathy & this to shall pass!
Best Walmart in the area. Cleanest. Always have everything in stock. Great employees. If ever there was a decent experience to be had at a Walmart in central New York, the Rome Walmart is the one to go to.
In town for the week. Store was clean. Cart keepers were on it - very nice as other stores have them all over the lots in town. I came back and had to return an item. There was one cashier, and the customer service center is combined as money services as well. So keep in mind if youre in a rush. You could be waiting a while.
Finally had great service from 3 employees. All very friendly and helpful.

I was in walnart for about ten minutes ,and there was six people I counted that did not have a mask on. I feel that if Wal-Mart really cares about the safety of people and workers that they would step up and do what all others stores are doing and have signs that if you are not wearing a mask you can not come in the store
Have disable plate.No parking in handy cap area due to sore due to those not disabled taking handicap parking area....Storr said call police.By then walk .ost of way and back out.Store should do themselves.They dontGuess those not disabled money is better than x people.
I will never shop at walmart in Herkimer again the employees are rude and do not care if they run over you or push you out of the way . Walmart is as fake as they come , it used to be with a smile is there anything I can help with . Not anymore . If you still have mom and pop stores keep them in business
News flash people no more waiting in line so if you dont want to wait in line and complain about it Walmart now has pick up so you can order online and pick it up at the store I would highly recommend trying it works very well for me in and out just like I like it. Plus when you order online you can save a few cents on each item. All my fruit and vegetables were very fresh looking all my goods where the best handpicked ones
We now use the grocery pickup because its much easier than searching endlessly walking around. Everything is switched around so badly -- between that and the crowds, it was easier going to Tops and paying slightly more only because you knew where things were.Well as of recently, Tops now has grocery pickup as well.
Like any other Walmart..... Place spotless in the morning and looks like a tornado went thru by afternoon. Completely remodeled a few years back. Shame that the new floor is peeling up everywhere held together by some sort of tape. They keep resetting store which is a real pain. Love self checkouts. Seems like selection becoming more limited.
Pharmacy doesnt do the job of LISTENING. They seem more interested in telling you that you made a mistake than listening when you explain that they did.
Since my wife died,I get my dog treats there and a few other items while I am there. Have not grocery shopped there in a long time.

More and more disappointed every time i Have to go there. Last visit 3 things i went there for were out of stock. Not unusual items either. Why have fresh baked items if you cant keep them stocked. Empty shelves EVERYWHERE!! Tired of looking for items that are constantly moved around. Doesnt make me buy more actually less because i wont search. Would rather go to another store
I know its technically not grounds for a bad review but as a worker every since the CAP program went store wide they treat their associates like dirt. Expecting perfection on their 3rd day working the new system, favouring those who werent forced off their original night shift to the new day shift. You can work circles around these idiots and youll get blamed for it not being finished by 8 am. I cant wait for the day Amazon opens physical stores country wide and puts Walmart in the gutter.

The Rome store is handling the current situation very badly, I understand the slow restocking but the pharmacy seems to be amused when I ask for alcohol,they look under the counter then say oh I guess its gone. I watched a livestock-sized woman stick her arm in the cheese rack and swipe about 30 packages into her cart, maybe trying to bind herself up until the bathroom tissue situation is resolved? I went to the oneida store today and they have signs asking shoppers to observe a limit on some products, but the Rome store it all about sell sell sell !
Who ever the gargoyle looking female in the Deli that was wiping her nose on he fresh gloves before cutting lunch meat should be fired... True story 11/3/18 at 3pm she really truly wiped her nose on her gloves before serving customers not once but twice..
It doesnt make sense, Me and My Girl went to Walmart looking for Engagement Rings. The Lady whom was assisting Us told us 1. They didnt have Rings our Size, And 2. To Order our Rings online? Why wouldnt they have Rings of all Sizes? People should be able to visit the Jewelery area of any Walmart and purchase a set of Rings their Size. They should really focus on better accommodating the Customer instead of just trying to earn a Weekly or Biweekly Paycheck!

Unsafe work and shopping environment allowing people to go into the store if they make up a medical condition so they don’t have to wear mask when asked if they can wear a face shield instead they replied medical condition and the Walmart staff say it’s okay even though it’s against CDC guide lines place would rather make money off people then help save people’s life’s it’s sad when I see people on oxygen wearing a mask then I see someone without one it great health please help share this so corporate can change the way they operate I don’t like mask as much as the next person but I don’t want this to be are future Walmart needs to make sure everyone is properly masked or shielded so we don’t have a bigger out break
Walmart only want you to shop with your credit card and no cash. I was going to buy my toddler a small jug of milk. I couldnt pay cash only with a credit card when going through self checkout if I wanted to pay cash I had to go stand in line. So I left with nothing. Why would I want to charge a dollar something to my account.?
I couldnt find an employee that was willing to help me at all and they only had a few selections of cds left and thats it. They dont carry cds in the store anymore.

I traveled the country for 9 years and have seen the devestation to small local business in my in my town and everywhere Ive went around the country... Destroying mom and pop shops. Even other chains stores that were around. The K-mart that was down the road the sears that was next door. JC Pennys herb philipsons that was an outdoor/ sporting goods/ clothing and shoes. The only things really still standing putting up a fight is bigger chain grocery stores. Slot of the other small stores are barely getting by or are on their way out... Its a shame...
After shopping for a long time for winter boots and cloths my coworker discovered we forgot the tax exempt card. talked to night manager who left a note on the 5 shopping carts that we would be back. the note had the organization, her name and phone number on it. when we artiest to finish the purchase all 5 carts were gone . we called the day asst. manager told us they dont hold for p reopen and returned the 5 carts to the Departments.we did find the carts because they are so short handed they couldnt get the stuff on the racks and shelves.The assistant manager was rude and wouldnt apologize. Rome Walmart is not a n example of the other stores which we have worked with. I wouldnt recommend this store to anyone. .
The grocery aisle is terrible. They place those large carts on front of the aisle and the workers wont move them so we can get whats behind them.
There is not much I can say about Wal mart other then they are a bargain out let. I am happy to say that I have met a few nice cashiers and sorry to report that you can not refill your bottles there at this time.
Every cart the store owned was outside I think, no place left for handicap parking! Every time you try to approach an associate they go running the other way, except the ones who park their carts directly in the middle of the aisle while your trying to get something and are mumbling under their breath about jerk customers..oh is that us!
This places is great i do a lot of online shopping some time go in person but I have to say some of there workers are Rude and dont know what to doing but other then that it a good place to shop ☺ 😌 😊 🙂 😄
The pasta section was empty like there was a snow storm coming, the selection of bread brands is dwindling every week and there frozen selection was lacking on allot of items. The layout for food is absolutely horrible now.

Sigh, its a Walmart. You know what you are getting anytime you decide to go to Walmart. Prices that are cheaper than the competition, check. That is unless you really watch prices and notice that thats not always true.The customers seem to be the rudest Ive ever seen in a Wal-Mart, dont know why that is, but its true but Ive witnessed arguments in the parking lot, a woman in a wheel chair blasting music out of her phone and shopping, and a mother have a temper tantrum on her son because he didnt want to look at electronics. She wasnt disciplining or even telling him, she was acting like a child herself.That was all in the same trip. Sigh, it is Walmart after all.
I love this store I am there almost every other day . Prices are great but 2 things wrong with this store .1 they could clean bathrooms more . And the 2nd really makes me mad this online ordering is nuts because the employees that restock shelves I guess are doing orders for this online shopping because there is nothing on the shelves. I have never seen Wal Mart like this .. Dont like it ....
Typical Wal-Mart Supercenter. Taking a couple of stars off because it seems like they are running out of random things, sizes are limited, and there were way too many people not wearing masks. I dont care what youre politics are. WalMart is a private company. If they tell you to wear a mask, wear mask or dont shop there.
2/28/2021After finding out that I had to bag my own groceries because bagging is the cashiers personal choice, our cashier Adi told me so dont come here. This is walmart polce? Last I knew I was the customer.
The selection of sleep pants is great.most of the shoppers model them whilst shopping. Really gives you a realist view of them in action. The rare asphalt turtles in the parking lot are a must see to . All that in one trip to your local Walmart :)

Im usually in and out, but they have everything you NEED . This specific Walmart has people that watch your every move undercover and it is very uncomfortable and obvious.. Not trying to say they profile just saying they need to back off a bit . I earn my money and work very hard for it so if I come to an establishment Id like to be treated like those around me .
I use to think this was one of the better walmarts. Now theres never anything stocked up. Im not sure if its the online shoppers or management. But the workers dont move out of your way like they have a right to everything before you. Actually its pretty rude how there alway in the way. And multiple things are never stocked almost like they dont know how to keep up with inventory. This walmart is starting to suck and it use to be one of the better ones Ive been in. Im hearing the same things from friends, family, and now strangers in the store complaining about the same things. Ive already started shopping other places. Management needs to get it together. Also theres a pair of customer service people ones a supervisor the other is employees. I think there friends. The supervisor stands up for the employee if when shes wrong.

Staff are helpful early in the morning. Parking lot is a mess! Garbage galore and birds everywhere trying to pick the garbage. Store was clean and well stocked.
This is the worst place to shop ever. Customer service knows nothing about anything. Nor do they Care to find out for you. Asked 4 reps to find the item I was looking for.. None knew, none were apologetic, none out forth effort to find out. Lines a mile long in every single check out. Waited 20+ minutes to get meat sliced in the deli. Must I go on? Dont put yourself through this hell.. Unless youre a walking, talking saint who has all the time in the world!

I will never shop at the Rome Walmart again. The customers are scary, using profanity, fighting in the store and.the employees just stood there, did nothing no 911 call. Then I found out they arent allowed to call 911 on a customer or they could lose their jobs! Its only going to get worse, when the cops cant even arrest them anymore!
They have what you need the employees are all nice as of now they wont let you in without mask which is awesome they seem to care about not only the employees but us as the customers I always feel welcome when I go to the rome ny walmart
They need to tell your customers that pull their mask down after they enter the store to wear the mask probably or leave. Also do something about your employees that wear their mask under their nose.
I love this store, it sells everything for a lower price than other stores!
The customer service was rude and just alful. I went to pick up a money gram. And because my id. Had expired. Even after the people at money gram told them they could except my other id. They still refused. Even the manager did and I had numerous forms of id..clearl6, not a helpful or friendly store!!!

Today is Tuesday, and the Wal-Mart in Rome, NY has not replenished stocks fully following weekend sales. Wal-Marts in general sell quality lower prices items that customers like; then stop selling them; I presume due to lower profit margin. That to me is a sore spot.

This store is not consistent bad or good. Some shopping trips are quick and easy some are awful. The customer service is adequate, but try to avoid busy times. Only the customers seem to have a sense of urgency.
Everytime me and my husband and more my husband then anything a hard-working citizen getting miss treated and embarrassed and they profile in front of everyone cause of whatever it maybe I dont know but me my husband let alone my family and friends spend tons of money with that company online and at the store work for Walmart and have for years and we have never done anything wrong to were everytime we walk through them doors we r getting harassed by employee, supervisor,security and then when we want to speak to management they take there sweetie time and then they tell me some B.S. excuse my language but its true and the Rome store has a pretty bad customer service as it is I know allot of people that dont even like going there anymore plus its way on the other side of town so when people get treated like that they will just spend there money else where cause we dont have that problem at other stores so my experience there wasnt very pleasant and it was my daughters birthday party that day and we spent over 200.00 dollars and then after all that and two hours of shopping and a cashier cashed us out which they knew that to they could see us from the door entrance and exits, they can tell just by looking at there receipts its there system and cashier so if anything it would of been there mess up so onces again wasnt a very good or happy experience at all and hasnt been the lasted few years but been getting worse where we dont even go and its sad cause we live on that side of town and we go else where plus when we did go we always spend at less 200.00 but we dont feel welcome the door greeters when we come in do but not when we leave cause it isnt the door greeters anymore its security or some type of management so we rate nothing but it made me do one star WALMART DESERVE ZERO STARS
When in Rome 😉 I like to pick up load and get the heck out. Theres no trucks stop for miles which means no parking for miles. Anyway, I called the manager tonight (11/01/17) who is allowing me to park near the associate parking. Im vary much appreciative of this being that I wont be near the psychiatric facility and 4 prisons. Thanks! Looks like Ill be shopping for supplies... I love Wal-Mart.
The store is usually clean, and organized. Staff is always helpful and friendly to me. I can always find what I need, and get in and out. Everything for one stop shopping!!!!
Store barely has items on the shelves, they are not inforcing the wear a mask while in the store, employees are difficult to find and when asking a question they act like you are bothering them

I would rate it 2.5 but there arent any half stars. Like most Walmart Supercenters they only stock to the community purchases. You can not depend on a product that you like being there, and being as far removed from the City of Rome, that gets annoying if you get there to shop and the products you buy arent there. The pharmacy has some of the best prices on pharmaceutical drugs, but the trade off is less than adequate staff and long lines. They have run out of my medications and have little empathy when they do. Overall appears dirty and run down on the whole, but I did notice my last visit they seem to be installing new lighting. The craft and fabric department had also been moved into the seasonal area and work was being done in that section of the store. The fabric/craf section has been condensed over the years since opening and carries a minimum of fabric and notions for basic crafting. The produce section is not well managed, selection is poor and the quality of fresh fruit and vegetables is limited. The selection of pre-chopped, bagged and prepared fruits and vegetables outnumber anything fresh.Update, Oct. 29, 2016 they have completed the interior and exterior remodeling. The facility and fixtures have been replaced and the entire store reconfigured. The produce selection remains scant for natural and whole product, mostly prepared and more expensive pre-cut options that contain too many chemical preservatives for my taste. I will update them to 3 stars, and I feel that they need to better train the staff to be more courteous and helpful. Tonight with long lines on few registers there were groups of staff just standing around discussing personal information regarding their high school experience.
Courteous, friendly greeters and helpful staffing for the most part. Otherwise just a typical Wal-Mart.

Extremely slow at deli. I cringe knowing I have to get deli meat. They spend too much time talking. I had to explain to them young lady that a quarter pound is .25.

Deli had one person working the hot section had 2 standing around talking several customers walked away because of the wait. The girl did her best being the only one working

I like Walmart most of the time. This visit is the same, other than one of the associates was a bit ride to me. However I can understand that with the long hours most of the time.
Its Walmart for better or for worse what else can I say? The automated pickup station is nice and they have a lot more self checkouts than most stores. But once again its still Walmart.
This place is okay but I prefer going to another Walmart than the one on Washington Avenue Ext in Albany NY! I also prefer going to a Walmart that is a 24 hour super store! Washington Avenue Ext store is NOT, nor is the one in Gilbert. The only 24 hour store is located in Rensselaer, NY.
Its a decent clean walmart and you never have to wait long to pay they always have plenty of cashiers

Shopped today at Walmart in Rome, NY and was told they no longer are allowed to bag our groceries unless we buy new bags or new reusable bags. We have to bag our own groceries now? So what are you paying the cashiers for? They only scan your products any you have to bag? Im better off scanning myself . Ive decided I will no longer shop at Walmart. I will shop at Hannaford because they bag our groceries no matter if you bring your bags or not. Im disappointed in Walmart.

Got what I needed for the girls an got what I was looking for my doggie an my Grandsons upcoming Birthday also some food shopping for the house and a bonus of several clearance clothing items which were very pretty and my cashier was very Friendly an patient..The only thing my Grandaughter an I were sad about is she wanted a goldfish for her and her sister a you dont carry them any longer... Typical Walmart, not my usual store, so it took longer than usual to find everything. If I was in the area Id go back.
Very friendly and helpful staff and if you cant find what youre looking for just ask an employee. If they dont have it in stock, ask them to call another location nearby and theyll help you get what youre looking for.
Very disappointed due to the shortage of checkout clerks. Also informed of discontinuing of price matching as of 17 July. Plenty of self checkouts. Wonder when we will be stocking shelves?
Found most of what I needed for starting over. They had a good selection and decent prices. They are very good about getting people through customer service to send money and very knowledgeable too.

2022-04-11Horrible....I bought a stroller, carseat combo for my niece who just had her baby....the stroller was labeled $99.50 but rang up for $229....I bought it to a store managers attention and they said its not the right box, I told her no this says box s-3 so I dug out a s-3 so continue to say I was in the wrong when it was labeled wrong....I went ahead an bought it so that way I could pick up my niece... I called corporate and they were great and said to call the store back later this evening to schedule a piece difference refund so I called and the manager that was on answer and said please hold let me see if their are any notes and she left me on hold for over 17 minutes so I hung up.New Hartford Walmart would never of done this...

2018-09-23A great place to stop at anytime of day, no matter what you may need Walmart has it 90% of the time. Pickup is available here as well as ordering online to have it delivered to the store or to your house. The frozen food section is very sparse but the produce section has a wide variety of local and exotic fruits. The subway inside is decent and very clean. The ATM in Walmart has a hefty fee for use.

2022-02-23Pre-ordered a treadmill for my wife. Got there to pick up my treadmill that was already paid for and was told that someone accidentally received my order. Was treated rudely and told that they would not make it right and bring me up another one. So they took my payment in 30 seconds, now I have to wait up to ten days for refund! Horrible all the way around!!!

2022-03-01Had one of a set of 4 tires I had purchased 8 months ago start to loose air pressure. Returned to the Auto care department at Rome NY Walmart, The service manager notified me the tire had sidewall puncture damage. PurchasedRoad Hazard Insurance on the set at the time of purchase. The old tire was prorated toward a new one to replace it. All within less than a hour.
