I contracted with this sole proprietor to remake my boat cushions. I told him I would like to change my cushions from White to blue.Prob. 1: I asked if the the color would be hot in the sun, he said no the material dont get hot. He was wrong, they were very hot and I have to put towels over the seats prior to sitting on them.Prob. 2: He gave me a firm price for the job, and proceeded to tell me he could save me on the tax if I paid cash. I said i dont have a problem with paying tax and I would like to use my AMEX. He then told me he dose not accept AMEX . So at that point I agreed to pay cash.Prob. 3. When I came to pick up the completed project he wanted to charge me more for something that should have been include with the Bow cushions. That would be a pvc track that the upper bow cushions slide into? how could you provide new cushions that required a track instead of the original snaps? That cost me an additional $100. Cash.Prob.4: After I installed my bow cushions t on my boat at the start of last season, I found both Bow cushions were puddleing. I contacted him to inform him that this was happening and he asked me to bring the cushion in so he could add foam to the inside. I informed him I keep my boat 60 miles away from his shop and I dont want to go back and forth. I asked and He agreed to let me bring them in on the off season. So today, 02/06/16, I went to see him with the cushions and he looked at them and explains that he would add foam to the inside bottom to fix the puddling. I tried to confirm he was not going to charge me to fix his mistake and then he started to explain again to me, what he had to do to fix them. This was what he did to me with the track. I knew where he was going.I was upset and told him, Im leaving , you did this to me last time and I would rather pay someone else to fix them. He agreed I should do that. at that point I said I will also be reporting you to the BETTER BUSINESS Burrell.He followed be out the door telling me, come back in I will take care of itI drove off.This man is not honorable and can not be trusted. He told me when I originally went they that he used to make designer named handbags before he came to America.I would say he does not have enough experience with boat upholstery.
