From the Budos Band to most recently, Glassjaw, this place is one of many dope spots to check out live entertainment in NYC. Old school energy within the establishment, coat check, grade school like restrooms, cash only bar. Expect some great times and dope vibes. Shoutout to security for making everyone safe at the smoke section.
Recently got a chance to come back to Warsaw for an Allan Rayman show and everything about this venue is great, itβs small and intimate, it doubles as a polish community center in the daytime and a music lovers dream at night, during the concerts they keep the kitchen open in the back where theyβre making sausages and dumplings and other treats.Polish beers avail at the bar in addition to a full bar offering. Funky little venue, with a lot of character. Love it!!
My first time at Warsaw for the Show Me the Body show. The venue is beautiful and huge. There are separate rooms for eating (delicious and affordable polish eats!) and for the bar. They also had a smoking area which was great. Everything is cash only so come with cash. There is an ATM but lines are long. For the type of crowd that was there for the show, I felt the management was doing an incredible job at letting everyone mingle and yet keeping it orderly and safe. Cant wait to go back, dreaming of those pierogis!!
A unique venue Im glad that I got to experience! Came here to see a concert, which was fantastically put together and would love to see more shows here. But I want to come back for the food! After seeing sausage and pierogis and other classic polish fair, my interest was piqued and will definitely bring me back before the next concert I go to!
Fun music venue that feels like a community center turned ballroom turned music venue. There is a casual cafeteria with traditional polish food, cheap drinks, and beautiful architecture! The sound quality isnt great, but I love the idea of dancing with the spirits of #polishgrandmas and this is one of my favorite #livemusic places!
Awesome experience seeing Pierre Bourne on 11/18/21.Getting in was a breeze; well organized and fast.Security staff were alert and handing out water all night to people who needed it.Sound was good enough, especially for the kind of music being played.Staff and organization make or break venues these days, and Warsaw seems to know what theyre doing in those departments. Good on them.
Really cool smaller venue. I really like that theres a separate bar area from the venue space, and i love that there are TVs in the bar area so you can still see whats going on. The sound quality was good, the space is very clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly.
The stage setup is nice, bar and food are great, and the staff here are PHENOMENAL. Security are patient and as gentle as possible with crowdsurfers, and even passed out water to those in the front who needed it during the show. I was dehydrated after a show and other staff stopped to make sure I was OK and got me water as well.
Awesome venue that feels very intimate yet itβs really open. Sound was fantastic and the bars were awesome. The specials were interesting with fair prices. I tried a sausage and it was alright, but considering everything going on here I canβt be too harsh of a critic. The staff was very helpful and I felt very safe in here.
Cool venue for up and coming bands. Not many places to sit. Spacious bar in the back as well as an area for food catering and a few tables. Acoustics are pretty good. There is an upstairs balcony with two rows of VIP seating with a neat birds eye view of performances too.
One of my favorite venues in the world! It has 2 separated spaces - the concert hall and a bar, and in between a very casual eating area. This means you can hang around until the gig starts and pop in when the band that you are interested starts playing, but without missing anything cause you still can listen. They serve some Polish food - e.g. pierogi and have Polish beer. The quality of the sound in the hall is excellent. Heads-up: it is cash only.
Absolutely loved this venue. Went to the Show Me The Body concert held here last night and the place did more than impress. Very relaxed but reasonably strict security (they kicked out the guy that made this flame, reasonably so but also still super badass). Concert put on was fantastic and they hall was great for it, so was the MoshThe Venue was super well prepared and extremely well kept and organized. Clean very nice bathrooms (very rare at lots of small venues), great 21+ bar area and lots of tables and places to sit when you need a break from the action. Great outside accommodation for the same reason/smokers too.It seems super dumb but what really went above any other similar concert venue was their offering of pierogis and Kielbasa and polish food in general. I normally refuse to pull money out of atms with surcharges, here they have two atms and theyre sc is $3, but it was so worth it to try their pierogis and saurkraut. The sweet old lady behind the counter was super accommodating and friendly and the food was so tasty, felt like a home cooked meal that finished off the night for me and was more than happy to pay for $8 for a plate full and another cheap $2 for water (which btw security lets you bring a bottle in that you can fill with water), and then tip some money.Being my first concert again since COVID began, Warsaw did NOT disappoint! Per NY law they will check for vaccination and ID, which is more than fine. how everything was put on really hit the spot for my first concert back in action and Ill never forget the night! The next chance I have Ill gladly return to Warsaw, such an awesome place!
Was there from out of state for a show and was assaulted in the crowd. Told security what happened not just for me but concerned about others and the security guard said, βwell, yea. You got yourself dressed right?! Nothing I can do about it, maybe you should change.β Not that it matters but I was in jeans and a shirt. I could have been wearing a mini skirt it shouldnβt matter. They are security and the whole night put patrons safety at risk instead of watching out for them. Took this to management and was told to βjust leave, nobody cares.β STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THEIR SO CALLED SECURITY!!
Excellent experience here. I have been to many a venue for a concert. Sounds system (at least for Riverside 5/11/19) was excellent. The correct volume without any distortion. The mix was excellent. Drink prices more than reasonable given that I was here for a concert. To the organizers, please have additional similar bands if possible.
Overall I really like this venue. Itβs easy to get to and itβs a pretty spacious location. Security and staff generally are awesome. Iβve been to so many amazing shows here and every time is always such a fun, memorable experience. Bar prices are average. The only thing I donβt like about Warsaw is it gets very disorganized come time to leave; it becomes worse than the A train at rush hour! Nobody is directing people where to go...itβs a hot mess leaving, like an instant anxiety attack. Other than that I do really like and enjoy coming to this venue.
Lovely, unique venue. Theyve got a little cafeteria for some Polish style food like pierogies, a larger bar area with normally priced alcohol, an outdoor smoking area, a coat check, and a totally laid-back attitude. The sound is impressively loud and the stage is bigger than youd expect. I love going here.
This venue is a hidden gem where I like to see my favorite bands. Its intimate and unpretentious. You can see some super talented mid-level acts while feasting on Polish fare. View of the stage is more than adequate compared to the obstructed travesty which is Terminal 5. The bar can get a little crowded during intermission times but thats to be expected.
The Warsaw books awesome artists and the venue is nice and spacious with great sound. The bar is in a separate room which is nice especially if you need to take a break from the crowd. Plus, the drinks are affordable compared to other venues. You can also get pierogis and other Polish food. Thereβs an ATM inside, a few tables, and a water station, too. I love catching shows here!
Atmosphere/layout: main room is for events/concerts; small balcony; two rooms off the main room, one is the bar with a few tables (and a designated smoking area), the other was a bistro served food; good acoustics; didnt feel too smallSeen here:The Dead South (1/9/20)
This is a perfect medium-sized venue for punk and alternative shows. My favorite part of a night here is getting there a little early and eating a plate of pierogies they sell in oe of the side rooms. Theres a large bar area, simple seating in the side rooms and a smoking area outside. Overall, I love seeing shows here.
WAAAAY overpriced food and beer. Typically priced bar (so overpriced for everywhere but NYC), but theyre fairly well-stocked and the ambiance is pretty good. Nice, wooden, and warm. Venue isnt too big, which gives it a more intimate feel, but consequently it can get pretty loud everywhere. Could be cleaner, better organized.
The guy at the door checking IDβs is miserable. He needs to get it together. Overall food was great and a good price. Mixed drinks were overpriced and watered down. The IPA on tap was good but kicked as soon as the show started. Do NOT DO COAT CHECK. If you do, it will take you over an hour to leave the venue and several people lost items. When asking cost check personnel to find said items they kept taking tickets from other people until you asked twice or three times to find missing items. They literally told people they couldnβt find things. They most likely gave them away to other people. I will not be returning unless I hear that things improve.
Terror Jr LIVE was EPIC. The venue was nice and clean. (Although we did get crazy) They had wonderful people serving and the kitchen food was amazing. Polish kielbasa sandwich. Yumm. Thanks Brooklyn you guys were so welcoming. We appreciate the great experience. Until next time. Love from WI.πππππππππππππππ
It was my first time coming to this venue and it wont be my last. Its a pretty quick 5-10 minute walk from the Nassau Ave G train stop, so thats great. Two main things impressed me:1) The line outside of the venue moved really fast. The security guards were quick and efficient, so that really only took like 3-5 minutes.2) I didnt have to wait that much between each band. With some places it can take 5-15 minutes, sometimes even more than that, but over here everything was really fast and efficient. In general, I had a good time coming here and as long as the venue keeps hosting awesome metal bands, Ill keep going.
Great spot for a show. Not because of the sound (the sound is not great), but because of its total REALness. It feels like your High School gymnasium prom in there. Its not remotely fancy, but thats what makes it great. (The pirogi and sausage they serve in there is another thing that makes it great.) Places like this are fewer and farther between these days.
Great space for concerts, reasonable drink prices, very clean, sound system is amazing, has a really safe shd pleasant feel to it. They despise photographers though. Must have press pass even with point and shoot cameras. The strictest Ive ever seen in any place Ive been too.
Excellent concert venue. Its a big dance hall (for lack of a better word) in the Polish National Home in Greenpoint Brooklyn, which has been there for over 100 years. The staff are friendly, the venue is clean and easy to access. Tickets are usually quite reasonable, and they attract interesting acts. I saw Thee Oh Sees there most recently, and they were fantastic. Good sound, nice bar off the side with a sitting area and place for bands to sell merch. I look forward to going back soon.
I went for a sold out show, and if you were anywhere but the first couple rows of people you didnt see the show. You would listen to the show and occasionally see the artist on stage. The house speakers were amazing and it is a great place to see a concert. Just get ready to push your way to the front if the pit. Or buy VIP tickets to get to walk upstairs and watch from the balcony.
I would like to thank Mark and his staff of the Warsaw , security Sean and especially Rob for all their help in making my experience at the recent Jack White show an extremely pleasurable and memorable evening. I would gladly come back to this place at a moments notice. Love the food bar staff professional polite courteous, what more can you ask for, this venue was like a little piece of heaven. I also would like to give a special mention to Nicole at Irving Plaza for the great kindness she gave me!
Music is so loud that you cant hear the bands you have traveled to hear. All you hear is distortion. The atmosphere is a ten. Awesome.Super cool mix of age, young to old.Place would be so much better if they just didnt have to blast the music so loud your ears ache when you leave and the patrons only are hearing distortion.
Worst concert experience Details: I have been going to concerts for many years and from time to time I have experienced an inconvenience or two. But, what transpired with EVERYTHING involved in the August 16 Zakk Sabbath show was the absolute most appallingly disorganized mess I have ever encountered. I ordered 4 tickets months before the show which were supposed to be delivered by snail mail. As the date of the concert approached I called Ticket Web customer service and was informed that the tickets were being held back by the venue (Warsaw theater) but they would be sent. I called again two weeks out from the show because still NO tickets. Again I was not only informed by Ticket Web customer service that the tickets did not mail out yet BUT they were being sent the beginning of the following week. The Monday before the show when I still had not received my tickets I once again contacted Ticket Web customer service and this time I was told that my tickets had been sent out weeks ago? The representative assured me that my 4 tickets would be available for me at the venue as will call. I was instructed to get to the Warsaw theater an hour before the doors were to open and to have proper identification. I was on line at the destination that was set aside for will call tickets at 7 pm and stood in that same spot for over two hours without seeing the line move. In fact, the more people that I spoke to turned out to be in the same position I was regarding NOT getting their tickets. This entire fiasco was exasperated by the piss poor handling of this issue by the Warsaw itself. Little information was provided to those of us standing on that line...that hot line. I had two women in tow who needed to use the restroom but there was no option provided to them from the Warsaw because they would not open the freakin doors at the advertised 8 pm time. With no establishment near the venue with a public restroom the girls and I were forced to leave the line which was growing to an unbelievable mass of ticketless people in order to find somewhere they could use a restroom! On foot in an unfamiliar area searching for a place that could accommodate such a thing is not easy but luckily we found a place. After having to go through this a couple of times and not seeing the line move for almost three hours we had had enough of this unpleasant experience. I demand a full refund for my four tickets which I ironically received today in the mail! What a joke!!
This place has an absolute wretched perception of customer support. I called for days trying to get in touch with the box office, with not a single success. Then, while trying to buy tickets at the venue to avoid the awful deal they have with their ticketing services (roughly $9 for a ticket fee), the bouncers had to explain that sales were cash only. No mention of this anywhere, by the way. So, I dont recommend working with them. I surely wont be back
Worst venue Ive ever been too. I paid for a ticket monthes in advance, came to the show on time only to wait an hour and half on a long line before getting in... I missed the first two acts of the show, which I was hyped to see.... the venue needs to fix this problem. Its not fair for people who have already bought tickets in advance. Also the speakers suck and sound distorted.
I visited for a lovely art show featuring my best friend, Nahshona Simon of Shona Lucille LLC. I LOVE her work and it was a pleasure viewing the creations of other artists as well! This venue also features a large bar area towards the back with games to keep you entertained, should you need so.
WOWOWOW...what can one say who has experienced so much love love love in one place? Punk rock and peirogis is what this gem of a place boasts and a more well-earned self-acknowledgement is hard to imagine. That these seemingly diverse experiences go so well together, who might wouldve guessed? From BH Surfers to Jello Biafra, the legendary residents and, as of last night, the rip-roaringest of them all: Stiff Little Fingers -- Jake Burns blessing Williamsburg, Brooklyn with his passion and the fire of 40 years of Inflammable Material---Alternative Ulster in-freakin-deed! Oh to have so many bright and shining memories uploaded into my noggin from one little punk rock club on the corner of McCarren Park---Thanks a lot!!!!
Terrible venue! I went to see chocking victim two years ago doors were at 6:00 they didnt open the doors till 7:30 they kept everyone outside in a complete downpour storm! Ppl were shivering and freezing outside by the time ppl got inside everybody was miserable and wet and it made the whole night not fun ! The food was disgusting as well!
This club is nothing but a huge noisemaker. A club should be soundproofed so that the neighbors do not have to be kept up at night because of the noise. The crowd that attends these so called concerts/events are very disrespectful to the people who live on this block. This club needs to get its act together and tone down the noise so that usold folks can get some sleep.

2022-06-26Great venue for a concert. They keep the A/C pumping so its not too hot. The sound quality is good. The only reason its not 5 stars is because the bar is cash only which is kinda crazy in this day and age. I never carry cash and the ATM fees are ridiculous.

2022-06-09Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great sight lines. The climate control in this place might be the superstar. No matter how nuts-to-butts it is I never sweat.

2022-04-16Great concert space! I saw Latto in concert and had an amazing time time. Space was big and sounded great! Drinks were decently priced just wish there was more food options. I donβt eat pork so the kielbasa and pierogies wasnβt for me. Absolutely enjoyed my time but it got a little warm/hot.

2022-05-19About as close as you can get to a perfect venue. Fantastic sound. Friendly staff. Cheap drinks. Delicious homemade Pierogis! Gets a bit jammed up in the bar, smoking and merch areas at times but otherwise is a great experience. Important: This joint is CASH ONLY.

2022-03-10I purchased tickets for a show on 3/11/2022. Was very excited to attend this event. The event was rescheduled to 4/3/2022, a Sunday evening. I explained to ticketweb that my husband is a first responder and would not be able to attend the rescheduled event as we live far from the venue and he will be working that evening. Instead of offering some kind of credit or a refund as a courtesy, I received patronizing responses that completely ignored the fact that we wouldnβt be able to attend the rescheduled date. I was told the event organizer does not issue refunds. How is this not bait and switch? Iβve been going to concerts for years and whenever a concert is rescheduled Iβm offered either a refund or tickets to the rescheduled event. Safe to say I will not be purchasing tickets for shows at Warsaw or Irving Plaza in the future due to their questionable business practices.
