As others have said, its a great place to people watch. Its as if the locals have never seen grass

The park is absolutely beautiful! Its a wonderful place to take children to play, walk your dogs, or just sit and read for a little while. It is a lovely spot & when I visited there were multiple live musicians
The fountain in the middle of this park was great on a hot day. It was enjoyed by people of all ages, but especially the kids who were splashing around in the water and were enjoying a water fight on the hot day of our visit. What a wonderful spot in the middle of such a great park.
A wonderful park that hosts a huge variety of people from dog walkers, people playing with their dogs, couples, first dates, musicians. You can sit on the benches and be in the middle of everything, or you can find a quiet spot on the grass underneath the tree where you can relax a little, and watch life go by.

Listen to local jazz musicians and watch the people of the city walk by. Great atmosphere and much fewer tourists than in CP. Bring your food and have a relaxed lunch with everybody.
One of the most iconic parks in Manhattan, it lives up to the hype. The chess corner is filled with interesting people and occasionally there is some live music you can enjoy from a park bench.

Beautiful fountain in a large square with lots of room to sit, play, eat, or watch the fountain. Steps into the fountain encourage splashing and playing, and there is a playground close by as well.
Nice area to relax and enjoy the weather and clouds. Good place to eat your lunch and sometimes there the entertainment in the park.

Very nice square, there is always a band playing. But my favorite is the piano bellow the Arch and its message.
I’m inlove with those little tiny rainbows! I think that was the first time I saw such a pretty rainbow in a fountain.

Its a very good place to have a walk and rest, but at the time I went, it was very crowded and without a place to sit.

One of my favorite places in New York, I spent hours sitting there watching how people made art, from musical bands to painters there were in this place.It is a place where people feel free and can do almost what they want, although it is a quiet place, there are always people who do wrong things or there are police arrests for actions against the law.If you remain a spectator, you will be able to spend great moments watching the birth of Fifth Avenue, through this arch that gives this square its essential characteristics.
The attraction here is the people: artists, musicians, gymnasts, students. Those who are going to look. And to be looked at.

Nice park and beautiful view of 5ave.It is worth spending a few minutes there: maybe you will come across some challenges between street dancers performing in the square, or you can play chess on the stone tables in the park or enjoy good improvised music from some street artist.
A nice place. Here you can walk or look at street artists, listen to music in their performance. By the way, next door is the house where the film Im a legend was shot, with Will Smith in the title role. The place is compulsory!))
Beautiful, and practically a campus of New York University and also if you want to play chess there is an area where for a few dollars are available for players to play a game

2021-02-17Aside from the fact that it was so surreal to actually see it in person because I’ve seen it on a lot of movies/series, there is something so inviting about this park. It’s in the middle of the city, just a few steps and you’re already looking at NYU.This was January 2019. You can see a diversity of people just chilling and having fun. Kids playing and running, this man is making ginormous bubbles, the other guy is playing piano, other people are reading, bonding with their family... WSP sure had witnessed a lot. UGHH.💕

2017-04-06Love coming here because there is always a ton of activity from singers, musicians, dancers, chess, dog run, playgrounds and squirrels you can hand feed. A lot of students and tourists can be found roaming around.

2017-06-05Lots of great local musicians play here and there is food and ice cream as well. It is actually a very clean park and has a dog park and a childrens play area as well. The area around the park is great and filled with art and food and fun.
