We had our wedding here on 10/29/21 in the astor room. Everything about it was amazing. I cant say enough great things about Johnny and Jeannine (& crew), they are the best! One of the main reasons I booked here was because of the two options for the ceremony. The indoor chapel room is so beautiful. I cant wait until Im able to return as a guest one day.
My wedding was 08/27/21 at the Watermill and the venue was outstanding!!! We first booked with Brian and he was so accommodating and easy to work with. He kept in touch with us throughout all of the COVID changes and always responded to emails quickly! Our MaitreD, Nick was the BEST! Nick was on top of everything. He kept an eye on the weather for our outdoor ceremony and made sure we dodged some rain. He pulled us from cocktail hour for the last 15 minutes to bring us to the bridal suite where they had a table full of food for us to sit alone to eat together. I surely wasnt expecting him to even supply us with eye lash glue when we had a make up malfunction! Jessica was my bridal attendant and she was AMAZING! Every time I turned around she had a new drink for me and anything I needed. She even helped me with my shoe change after a very hot (and sweaty) ceremony. My train bustle came undone at least 5 times during the reception and she was there within seconds to help every time. Dominick was our captain and he was GREAT! He had our drinks and food waiting for us and kept warm and was so sweet. The food and service were amazing! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything ran like clockwork. There was not one hiccup that wasnt immediately taken care of. I was even called by Nick at 2 am to let me know an envelope was found in a bathroom for us. The entire staff was so on top of everything! Choosing Watermill as our venue was our best decision out of the entire wedding!!!
I was a guest for my cousins wedding over the 4th of July weekend. The venue is gorgeous, food and drinks were amazing!!! They had another wedding in the same place and we did not run in or disturb one another great coordination. Cocktail felt slightly rushed especially with the amount of guest. My issue was the with the maitred he was very aggressive and had a bad attitude. Watch how the hell you speak to people especially our grandmother!! She was at the proper table but had to move over a seat for the mother of the bride which is fine but calm the hell down guy! People spend way to much money to be spoken to in that manner. I work in the food industry myself for several years its called hospitality learn it! There were other incidents with the same man! Other than that no issue which is why I give you 4 stars because half was not an option.
Great service and food was great as well!! If u order the fish, make sure u dont get the lemon mystery sauce...taste like lemon soap! But, the fish and rice were really good! Some drinks are watered down but overall, I had a great experience and met absolutely wonderful staff!!!
This was the second event I have held at the Watermill Caterers and I didnt think it was possible to top our first experience but they came through. Brian and everyone at the Watermill is a pleasure to work with. Professional, thoughtful, experienced, attention to details, classy of the moment decor and the best food! All the NYC foodies were raving !
Attended a wedding here and the dinner was awful. Cocktail hour was delicious but once the food ran out they didn’t replace it and the time felt very rushed. The space is beautiful but food was not it.
Great venue, staff was very nice and helpful for my friends wedding on Saturday. Easy to reach as its close to several highways. Food was very good and drinks were strong. Cocktail hour was very impressive. Nicely decorated for the holidays as well.

My nephew and his wife exchanged marriage vows here and I must say everything was perfectly beautiful the courtyard for the ceremony was absolutely elegant The cocktail hour inside and outside was perfectly displaced and the food was truly breathtaking especially the eggplant parmesan and calamari I couldnt stop eating everything literally melted in my mouth the bartender Leo was super pleasant and friendly I had the best time celebrating with the bride and groom dinner was amazing the choices were divine and the presentation was amazing Thank you to the staff at the Watermill for such a wonderful experience You really showed up and showed out for my family and I know they will never forget such a wonderful experience at The Watermill of Smithtown
My aunt had their wedding there and it was awesome it was a clean place and it had great soda and great choices of music
Went for Thanksgiving. Food was excellent, along with atmosphere. It was our first time doing something like this for a holiday, and we will certainly be doing it next year. Ate a lot of good food, and didn’t have to cook or clean anything.

I had my wedding at the Watermill Caterers on April 29, 2018. Back when I was venue hunting, Watermill was the first place me and my husband saw. Not knowing our budget, we werent sure what to expect and the managers at Watermill walked us through everything. They encouraged us to look at other venues too so we could get an idea of what other venues offered... but they assured us that we would be back. And they were correct. The Watermill surpassed every venue we saw (which we saw 8) in terms of price, looks, attractiveness, food options (which are endless), and assistance.When it came time for the wedding, their staff are fast, effective, polite and treated every one of my 100 guests with the upmost care. The food was to die for. Unlike other venues that just give you three food options for you guests, the Watermill gives you 10... 10! And of course you have appetizers and desserts and the cocktail hour before it (which is an experience all on its own).If I were to pick my 2 most memorable moments of the whole experience it would be: 1) when I spilled a piece of watermelon on my white gown and my bridal assistant came running in with a tide-to-go pen - the true MVP. 2) 5 days before the wedding, the Watermill gave me and my photographer access to the whole grounds so that I could take my wedding portraits with my husband. During that time, people came to give me drinks and gave me access to the bridal suite without any additional charge.If youre looking for a venue that doesnt leave those awkward silences at weddings, gives you fast service, who are waiting for you on their hands and feet, serve amazing food and holds your hand throughout the whole experience, then the Watermill is where you go!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Watermill was for Jenn and Josh’s wedding. They took such good care of us and catered to our every need so we could enjoy ourselves. The food was amazing, the DJ was awesome, so funny, had everyone going. And the chapel was so beautiful.The grounds were gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the professional pictures.Thank you to all our friends and families for celebrating with us. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were amazing. So great to see the cousins interacting.We highly recommend the Watermill.
It is a nice venue for the area. Decent decor. The best part about this place is the staff. Highly trained. Very friendly. One staff in particular - Juice was so kind and helpful she actually went out of her way to get me club soda from upstairs! Professionalism at its finest. Definitely recommend but wish the club soda was better! (Taste like Costco brand!)
My wedding took place this past Sunday (October 31st) and fortunately for us everything was incredible. Our venue was Watermill Caterers in Smithtown. From the moment my wife and I arrived to begin taking photos on the grounds and throughout the night Bridal Attendant Jeannine and Maitre-d Sean went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of (be it food, drink, or any other requests that came up). Their cocktail hour had many pleasantly surprised and full before dinner was served. Dinner featured 9 options for guests - in surveying those who attended each dish was perfected. The grounds here are absolutely stunning and well maintained.
Great ambiance and service. Cocktail hour was good. Wine is served in extremely small glasses and the dinner entrees were bland . All the people at my table had varied entrées and all said food was bland .

We just got married at the Watermill on 9/3/21, and it was the most perfect day. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly, and according to plan , so that my husband and I didn’t have to worry about anything and just enjoy our day. Our guests keep telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended. From day one , Enzo and Tom took great care of us , both were very attentive and listened to all the details we wanted. Nick was our maitre’d , and he was fantastic. We felt very comfortable letting him run the show. Jessica was my bridal attendant,and she was so sweet and helpful all night. I can not say enough great things about the whole Watermill staff ; I even received great compliments from my guests about the wait staff and bartenders. Thank you Watermill for our perfect wedding !!
This was my first and only trip so far to Watermill and went there 9/26/21 for a wedding and everything was amazing!! If you are there with a Bartender named Aaron, he is the best! He went out of his way 2x to the other bar to get the better liquor or to make a drink that the other side had the items needed at. 10/10 best bartender ever. Trusted him on random drink mixes and a shot and he delivered! I wish he was at every event prior to this at other venues lol!!!!!If I get to go back I hope I have him again!
I have officiated weddings here since 2017, but I officiate weddings all over the country and internationally. I am also a military chaplain in the reserves so I have seen many chapels in my lifetime. I have also attended the receptions of the wedding I officiated here because my couple become like family to me. I completely enjoy the space, particularly the indoor chapel. It looks like a fairytale and with the right photographer you will get the perfect memory of yourself in this space. The photo I attached here was used in my 2017 advertising campaign because it looks so dreamy. The staff are friendly during wedding day. They are accommodating and sensitive to the needs of the couple on wedding day. They are flexible especially on days where there are no other weddings taking place ( i.e. July 5th is a great wedding day option). The cocktail hour is yummy and the champagne tree is SUPER unique touch. I have been to receptions in the grand ballroom downstairs and a ballroom they have on the upper level and both are suitable for a wedding reception depending on the number of guest you have. As the officiant both the indoor and outdoor space are amazing for ceremonies, however I prefer the indoor chapel because they have poured money, time and resources into making it gorgeous and for those of you with elderly people attending your wedding the climate is controllable. You wont have to worry about it being too cold, too hot, rain, snow, outside noise or it being too windy.
If I could select more stars I would. Our wedding was on 09/23/2021. From the very beginning Watermill Caterers has been incredible. We booked with Tom, who through Covid and having to cancel and reschedule multiple times was just the most accommodating and understanding person. Nick and Jeanette were outstanding. Ill say it again, they were OUTSTANDING!!. Jeanette anticipated my every need, sometimes even before I knew I needed something. Nick was so fun, while also maintaining a professional manner. Our entire day was a fairytale that would not have been possible without your wonderful staff. From the food, the ambiance, the gorgeous outdoor space, our guests have not stopped raving about the entire night. Thank you a million times.

I just had my wedding here over the weekend, so this review is still fresh in my mind. We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. From the outdoor grounds for the ceremony and cocktail hour, to the inside rooms, the place was simply elegant. The attention to detail and overall beauty cannot be described in words, but it was just absolutely amazing. Now step away from the beauty and throw in the food...hands down, food was amazing. Every dish was prepared perfect and everyone raved about how delicious it was and how they could not eat another bite, as they forced more food in because it was just too good.We had the most amazing staff. I could write pages on how good they were, but you would probably stop reading. Instead, so quick points. Our maitred Nick made sure everything went smoothly. He kept our guests happy, and made sure we, the bride and groom, got to enjoy our wedding. Our captain Johhny was always on the ready. Before we could finish a sentence, he had what we wanted. I remember my wife saying I just need to get... before she got to say my water Johnny already handed us our glasses. Finally, there was our bridal attendant Christina. Just like Nick and Johnny, she focused on just us. She made sure we always took a few moments to make sure we ate. If we needed anything, she not only was there, had it handled in seconds.The venue cannot be beat and you will have the wedding of your dreams here because of how beautiful it is and how good their staff is.
Obviously I attended a wedding here. It started off awesome, the cocktail hour was unbelievable. There was a bacon bar right down to a sushi bar.. after that we were brought to the main dining area with a D.J. and a small camera crew who took pictures all night. For dinner I had a pork shank that was fabulous 😋 and my wife had sea bass which was also delicious. Dessert was cake, a platter of small desserts and a wall of doughnuts. Coffee, espresso...ect. The place is a slam dunk!
So disappointed. The food was mediocre (Who over cooks a filet?), the venue was dated, the chapel was small. I was expecting more.
We attended a wedding here. The food was very good and the waiters provided great service👍 As we were leaving the wedding reception, there was a wall of doughnuts for take-aways! Loved it. We had coffee and doughnuts for breakfast the next morning compliments of the Watermill Caterers😊

ABSOLUTELY the most incredible experience we’ve ever been a part of from start to finish. Me and my wife got married here on Saturday, 9/25, and It was nothing short of magical. We started this process with them over a year ago and It was seamless…BEYOND seamless. It was stress & hassle free. They abided by our every need and request, made sure everything was set up exactly how we wanted, and put our mind at ease when it came to Covid-19. TOM was a star from start to finish with us. We created a great rapport with him and everything he said and told us was not exaggerated. He kept his word on EVERYTHING and me & my wife have high expectations and they DELIVERED. He also personally greeted us at the door when we arrived which made us feel welcomed & special. Nick, our maitre d, lived up to those expectations as well. He was sharp, precise, and incredible on the fly. Stephanie, the bridal attendant, was also extremely astute! My wife can’t say enough amazing things about her. Outstanding! The cocktail hour & food overall have already become legendary according to our guests. 9 DIFFERENT ENTREE options to choose from and all were incredible. If I could give this place 10 STARS I would. I am writing this review on behalf of A World of Pink. We had the absolute pleasure of hosting a major breast cancer fundraising event on April 5th, 2017 - Beautiful Brassieres. The event was a tremendous success and it would not have been possible without the incredible service provided by the staff at Watermill Caterers. The newly renovated venue was breathtakingly gorgeous, the wait staff were pleasant, kind, and attentive, the food was out of this world, and the outstanding service was like nothing we have ever experienced. A World of Pink has held and attended several events on Long Island, and we can truly say that we have never had such an amazing experience like the one we had at Watermill Caterers. This venue is BY FAR the best on Long Island. It will take your breath away. We could not recommend it more for your event, large or small! Thank you Watermill!!
The bartender was being very unprofessional had an attitude every time I ask for a water. I ordered a beer he put it out the other side of the bar with me standing there waiting and another bartender ask me can I help you and I said yeah I’m just waiting for my beer and he asked the one bartender did you get him a drink and he said yeah I put it down there. Told me he couldn’t make a mix string for me and two other groomsmen come back 15 minutes later and he’s making that drink for 4 other people. Rolled his eyes when he had to get a drink And the crazy thing is I took $30 in the beginning of the night.. been to over 15 weddings on Long Island never had bad service like this.

We had our son’s wedding at the Watermill recently. While the affair itself was quite nice, the consideration and concern that was shown to our family following the wedding was, in a word, terrible. Unfortunately, there were some of our property that went missing from the Watermill following the wedding. When we approached the management of the Watermill for assistance in ascertaining how this occurred we were basically dismissed and rebuffed and no real assistance to determine what happened was provided. While they easily could have reviewed the security tapes to determine when and how this occurred and who was involved, they did not.It is quite clear that when the final payment has been made that is where and when any consideration or assistance from this establishment ends.
The Watermill was always my now husbands only choice for a venue, his parents were married there and my sister/brother in law were as well in 2018. I made him shop around and honestly it just solidified that we were having our reception at the Watermill. We had a few people that were able to go to the church and not the reception due to family emergencies. The Maitred Sean went out of his way to literally chase down my husbands uncle to bring 2 extra meals home for his wife who could not make it. She unfortunately ended up passing and at her services he kept mentioning how attentive they were to him. I know that you could argue that yes the plates were paid for, but for Sean to make sure he went home with food was in my opinion above and beyond. The bar staff being able to keep up with our families (230 people who can drink) and Christina the bridal attendant putting my chucks on deserve a shoutout for being rockstars as well.
We just booked our wedding at the Watermill for 2023. I looked at manyy venues and not one came close to what the Watermill offers for food, space, atmosphere, and professionalism. Tom and Brian were so pleasant to work with, they care very much about making the experience of booking a wedding a memorable event and Im confident our wedding is going to be amazing because of the dedication you can clearly see in them. Was there 12/10/21 for wedding. Everything was top of the line. The food, especially cocktail hour so many delicious choices for dinner, the venue decor and most of all the above and beyond attentive staff.Janine went way above and beyond she was incredible. She led bridal party every detail and more, was always 3 steps ahead.
As the father of the Bride (7/17/21) I was assured that the decision of my Daughter in the selection of the Watermill was confirmed by my dealing with Tom. Throughout the covid year postponement and right through the wedding day he was a man of his word. He took care of all our concerns and personally made sure the day was perfect. His appointment of Sean maitre D and Christina Bridal attendant made the difference. As with any Italian function the food plays a major role, and the Watermill did not disappoint. So thank you Tom and staff for a wonderful event.
The place was very nice! The outside garden and outdoor setting was nice for picture taking. The food as was good but mostly cold from cocktail hour to dinner.

I went in to discuss booking my wedding and the staff was not welcoming. The receptionist asked basic questions: name, address, etc. When I told her my address she interrupted me and asked “what’s your apartment number?” I found this strange since I never said we live in an apartment so I didn’t understand why she would have made this assumption. She could have asked is this a home or an apartment, if that happens to be one of the questions on the paperwork, instead she assumed we live in an apartment when in fact we are home owners. This was an immediate turn off to me. She then called over an older man to show us around and immediately he asked us do we have any questions when we hadn’t even seen the place yet. But since he asked and I found her question to be strange I asked him if that is something they ask everyone and he immediately became defensive and short so I moved on and asked if they hold more than one wedding at a time he didn’t take one step further into the place and responded with a quick yes we do since his demeanor appeared to me that he lost interest in showing us around I just looked at my fiancé and said it’s ok let’s just go and we left. We will not be spending our money in a place that treats people this way. It was definitely disappointing especially since it is close to our home and our niece had her sweet 16 here which I thought went well. Unfortunately the staffs behavior quickly drove me away and I would rather spend more money in a venue that treats people like they are welcome and without making assumptions about them.

The Watermill was amazing!! I couldn’t believe how accommodating and friendly every person was that worked with us. They gave us so much for an amazing price. They offered the most food, drink, and exit stations than anywhere else we looked. The Watermill blows away all the other venues we saw. And it smells great too! The lighting, the champagne tree, and the food were spectacular! I feel I need to write more... 20 appetizers, 5 stations for cocktail hour, 10 choices for dinner!! Open bar, specialty drinks, and chocolate shot glasses with dessert. They added mint chocolate chip ice cream at the dessert bar just at my request. We had our own personal chef, waiter, and a bridal attendant. They were all so nice and accommodating. People said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Thank you so much Watermill!

I came here a month ago the food was awesome the venue is very beautiful and the servers Charles and Samuel were very helpful and tended to my every need. I look forward to coming to the Watermill again soon.
Our wedding day was a dream come true thanks to Watermill! We had our wedding on August 23 and the day could not have been more perfect. The staff was incredible! Our maitre’d Sean was awesome and made sure everything ran smoothly. Our captain Johnny was great and was on top of everything during the reception. Devon my bridal attendant was amazing!! She truly took care of both of us from the moment we stepped into the Watermill until the very end of the night. Everyone in our bridal party loved her! The entire staff worked together like a well-oiled machine – we can’t thank them enough!As for the venue itself the renovations are absolutely gorgeous and fit our style completely- we knew it was the perfect place for us! Everything feels so modern and romantic and classy. The gardens are beautiful and we thankfully had perfect weather to have the ceremony outside (they do have an indoor chapel as well in case of bad weather, which is also gorgeous). The food is outstanding and that is really hard to come by. The cocktail hour options are all delicious and our guests were provided a menu that had 10 options to choose from for dinner. We had so many guests coming up to us saying they were blown away by all the food and how delicious everything was!We were not only incredibly happy with how Watermill treated us, our bridal party, and our guests but also how well they worked with ALL of our vendors to make the amazing night come together. The staff was such a pleasure to work with on all levels and if we had to go through the process again we would pick Watermill every time. We highly recommend using Watermill - and if you are on the fence about making the choice, trying the food at one of their showcases should put you over.
I had my wedding there on 05-24-2018 the most beautiful day anyone could ask for!!If you want a have the BEST WEDDING EVER!!! The Watermill is for you. They are so easy going and amazing to work with. Shawn are maître d’ was amazing waited on us hand a foot and made everything run so easily and also always had a smile on his face. Not one minute was he miserable an Ariana, HOLY COW!! She’s the best person ever. I had a very crazy bridal party and she was on top of us all the whole night. Drinks in a hand and a huge smile on her face! She never said No and was always with me to help with my dress and my veil. She kept me calm before walking down the aisle and happy when everything went well!! Thank you watermill for having us and giving us the most amazing day ever. I wouldn’t pass it up for the world!!
This venue was amazing! My daughter had her wedding there this weekend. Everything was perfect. The food was very good as told to me by many of the guest. Everything went extremely smoothly. It was beautiful. The people that were assigned to her wedding were amazing! Nic the maitre D , Johnny the captain, and Jessica the bridal attendant! They are all very good at their jobs! It was truly a magical night!
Hands down, best wedding experience (11/11/18) Ive ever had at a venue. All staff was helpful, exceptional, on point the entire night in all aspects. The food and desserts were absolutely outstanding! Totally impressed with everything! Wish I could rewind time and do it all again!!

This is our second time working here service and food are always great. Hollywood Smile Photo Booth definitely recommends this venue for tge wedding. Stuff is very helpful and professional.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and theyve done a great job and renovating. However, the staff is incompetent. They were slow, inattentive and provide a terrible product. The cocktail hour was lacking. Overall, was cold and bland. Multiple orders were wrong at my table and the staff had no clue what was going on and couldnt figure out how to rectify it. It seemed as if the staff was non-existent. Furthermore, it was unacceptable that there was no coffee served during dessert. Overall it was a terrible experience and if it I wasnt there for a wedding I wouldnt go there to eat. If youre getting married and care about your guests, avoid this factory.
Water mill has a great property with valet to start. Anyone with a venue should check put the array of options and food choices.Went to a wedding in June and I watched how organized they were moving individual parties between families.Food was delicious and visually displayed very nicely.Had an enjoyable time and look forward to returning.
We just had our wedding at the Watermill and it was a dream come true. Our Banquet Manager Tom really helped us make it awesome. The day of could not have gone any smoother. The staff were super accommodating and were the nicest as can be. My guest could not stop talking about the Food and Service they received. Special shout out to Katelyn, Nick, and Jonathan. They really when above and beyond for my Wife and I, they made us feel like royalty.
I recently went here for a event last night and although the place was amazing the real highlight of the night was our server Bridget. With over 100 guests to tend to, she would consistently check in with our table to ensure we were alright. She went above and beyond! Definitely will come back :)

We just recently had our wedding at the Watermill and both my wife and I cannot express how incredible of a job they did. Johnny, Michelle, & Mike went above and beyond and brought every idea & request to life. They truly worth every penny. Every guest has messaged us since raving about our wedding. We are also big foodies and the food was fantastic! The cocktail hour was absolutely a difference maker over most places. (Wedding was 1/1/2019)
Nice wedding venue. Employees were very friendly and helpful, especially the older Italian lady attendant in the main ladies restroom. Food was just ok, cocktail hour food was average but not enough Italian food as promised, sauce on pasta during reception was acidic and gave me heartburn. Viennese hour was very good. Tuxedo company which was recommended by Watermill were overpriced and had no tailor to fit tuxedos properly and you could tell. For a place as exclusive as this place looks from the outside, i was disappointed.
I couldnt have asked for a better wedding. The captain and other staff were attentive and made everything run smoothly. They adapted to what I wanted and made sure I got to eat, which doesnt always happen during weddings. The venue was stunning, with its classy new renovation and the well kept garden. Guests told me that this was the best food that theyve had at a wedding. They loved the cocktail hour (and the open bar). Everyone from children to the elderly had a great time.
I have never been tempted to write a review before, but I just have to thank the Watermill for the great job they did this weekend with my daughters wedding. We had a few communication blips with the sales staff in the weeks and months leading up to the wedding and I was a little apprehensive. I did not have to worry. EVERYTHING went beautifully. We really want to thank the bridal attendant, Kaitlyn. She went above and beyond what was expected. I cannot tell you how many people came over to us to say what a great party it was and how attentive Kaitlyn was to their every need. The cocktail hour was fabulous; the food at the reception was great; and the drinks kept coming. EVERYONE had a great time. I will definitely recommend the Watermill as a wedding venue.
This time- we were there for the Mothers Day Brunch. But, my husband and I were married at the Watermill. Great service, staff, and above all food. I was married there three years ago.... and people are still talking about the abundance of food at the cocktail hour. I would recommend the Watermill to anyone looking for a venue
My wedding was on 10/13/19. I cannot say one negative thing about the Watermill. From the day we booked in 2017, to the actual day of, it was all perfection!! I had Kaitlyn as my bridal attendant and he was truly like an angel! Attentive to our every move and desire. My husband and I were “crashing” right before the cocktail hour and the second our photographers let her know, she ran and got us two espressos! She even held the small plate under my mouth as I drank it, in case of a spill (lol). Our maître d’ and captain were also phenomenal. I don’t think more than 20 minutes went by where some one was not checking in with us. When my husband and I didn’t like the placement of our centerpieces (low and high were on wrong tables), both Nick and Johnny physically switched them around. They legit made our night perfect.As far as the food goes, PHENOMENAL. EVERY single person we spoke to, during cocktail hour, during the reception, or afterwards, had to mention how amazing the food was. My family wants us to get remarried just for the food 😂Honestly, I am beyond happy with the Watermill, and will forever relive this day.
My husband and I were married here this past July 3rd 2017. It was absolutely amazing!! From the first time we set foot in the building when we were still researching catering halls, we fell in love. The lobby is gorgeous, and we were greeted right away by a friendly receptionist. We mainly worked with Tom Wright, who was nothing but professional, accommodating, and friendly throughout the entire process from beginning to end. The day of the wedding, everything was set up perfectly and the entire staff was excellent. Always on point, accommodating to every guest, and as nice as can be. Sean was our maitre d. He was excellent! He helped me carry my dress while walking around to take pictures, offered us drinks, and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted almost immediately upon asking. Kaitlyn was our bridal attendant who was also amazing. She not only helped my husband and I, but also the entire wedding party throughout the whole night. She was the best!!! On top of amazing service, the food was top notch. Everything from cocktail hour, to dinner (10 choices!!!) to dessert was delicious. We continue to hear compliments about the decor, service, and food from all of our guests. Honestly there isnt a thing we would have changed. The place and the staff are absolute perfection! We will be recommending the Watermill for years to come!!
My wife and I couldnt be more happy with our wedding at Watermill Caterers (4/27/18).Booking with Eric who is no longer there was a pleasure. Everything from the initial tour to discussing our options was relaxed and fun. After Eric left, Tom took over managing our date and he did a wonderful job. He made appropriate recommendations regarding our needs and never tried to up-sell us. We always felt like we were in good hands and that our requests would be met.The renovations theyve done are incredible, if youre looking for clean and modern like we were this place will take your breath away. The menu options (your guests get like 10 choices...what?!) will please any crowd. We got so many compliments on the food, both for the cocktail hour and dinner. Honestly, we cant wait to be invited to a wedding here so we can enjoy it as guests too!The day of our wedding was perfect. Our maitred Sean was on top of everything and Im convinced he can be in three places at once - a true professional. The bridal attendant Jessica was extremely attentive, warm, and kind. The rest of the staff was always smiling and we heard nothing but compliments from our friends and family regarding their waitstaff. They placed our decorations exactly how we wanted (even better than we had imagined in some instances!) and really make the place look amazing.We couldnt recommend this place enough. My cousins wedding reception was held here. The staff was polite, efficient, and knowledgeable in fine dining protocol. They added to the wonderful celebration of their marriage. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone wanting a memorable celebration.
Fabulous !!! I have not been here in quite a few years and the dark wood and burgundy velvet Yale Club feel is gone ! The redo has preserved all the original woodwork, stripped and lightened, the water mill wheel is still there and now enhanced with beautiful terraces gardens and seating areas! Also.2 beautiful outdoor spots perfectly suited for ceremonies. Inside has a much lighter, beach type feel with unique built in lighting and sounds systems. The food, as always, superb !! So glad my daughter and her fiance chose to book their 2020 wedding here !!
The venue was beautiful, the food was good. However the drinks were weak and could have been better. I attended a friend’s wedding here and for the price I expected way more. Would attend other events here in the future.
Called regarding a wedding I was invited to in order to understand what kind of precautions they are taking due to COVID. The woman on the phone had no idea what the facility is doing to ensure the safety of guests at their facility. Obviously some lacking in management/oversight which employs someone lazy to put forth some effort. Needless to say, Ive decided not to attend.
It was amazing in here, such a gorgeous place to have a wedding. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious (portions were quite small), drinks were great and the cocktail hour was refreshing! Great place!
Went to a wedding here. Cocktail hour was kind of fun, I liked the little pretzels. But overall the space feels kind of clunky. Maybe it was just the mood I was in, to be fair. I got a lot of problems. The bathrooms were super nice. But when youre gonna give your Best man speech, please dont wear a headset. If you need your hands for the speech, wear a lavalier or something. Come on guys, this is a sacred union, not a sales call.
Great atmosphere and extremely attentive staff. Was happy until I got into my car after valet dropped it off to find a few personal items missing. Brought it to managements attention just to be told that the liability is with the independent company they hired and there is nothing that could be done about this on their end. Extremely upset over this loss. There should be a company protocol for these situations instead of some ignorant managers response about it not being their problem.
We just celebrated my brothers wedding here Friday night August 9, 2019. From the first time we saw this place at a showcase back in January, we were in love. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the food was amazing. The outdoor ceremony was perfect. But the best part of this whole place is the staff. All of the decorations were set up perfectly. From the minute the bridal party stepped out of the limo, we had several staff around us for whatever we needed. Need a drink? Hungry? They had us. The groomsmen said they were served food the minute they arrived. From tacos to sliders to strombolis to lambchops, the food was nonstop. The staff came around to the groom and groomsmen taking drink orders. Unfortunately the bridesmaids and bride didnt get to enjoy that part, only because the guys ran late which set back the limo getting the girls. By the time we arrived, the wedding needed to start right away. When we got to the bridal suite, there was a tray of cold meat wraps for a quick snack before the wedding started (which was perfect because the bride didnt eat much all day). The staff got us all lined up and ready to walk down. After the ceremony the bridal party stayed to take pictures then we actually got to go to the cocktail hour along with the bride and groom for a short time. The food was amazing and plentiful. When we went back to the bridal suite, there was another tray of food for all of us. Then came our entrance into the wedding. We were all so pumped up in the hallway screaming and dancing. We all made our entrance and there was a staff member telling us where to stand. The bride and groom entered under the arch of our hands. Once we were seated, our table waitress greeted us. I only remember her name because it matched her personality. Grace. She took our drink order one time. Thats all that was needed apparently because every time we got up to dance, we came back to refilled drinks at our table. I didnt need to go to the bar once. Grace came back several times to see if we needed anything. Then dinner was served. I ordered filet mignon and shrimp, and my boyfriend ordered chicken and shrimp. We each cut our meat in half and traded. everything was so juicy and flavorful. My brother said that he and his bride got to eat 3 different things off the menu and everything was wonderful. We danced all night to the music from the amazing dj. When the wedding was over, we called Grace over to thank her for everything. She gave us hugs and we headed out the door. Staff were there waiting to give us our bouquets and to make sure we had everything. It truly was a magical night and we couldnt have asked for anything more.
As the mother of the groom who needed to plan a wedding in 3 weeks due to impending family illness, I cant thank Eric and staff for making this day truly marvelous!!! October 25,2014, the food was wonderful, the weather was perfect, cocktail hour outside, reception inside…just perfect. Guests are still talking about the Viennese table--Wow, what a spectacular entrance you guys made. Many of our guests dined at many of the finest NY restaurants and hotels. They were amazed by how elaborate and elegant this affair was. Everyone was on their toes and ready to make guests feel exceptional. Thank you isnt enough. The Watermill is truly a #1 contender. Attended a dinner there and it was awful. The place is very nice. The buffet food was not prepared well. Cold over cooked the sea food was seasoned with some nasty flavor. I have never seen so many plates of uneaten food get tossed.
Came here for 12th Grade Prom and it was the best place to have it at. Everything was beautiful to look at and take pictures with!
Ive had the pleasure of being invited to events here at Watermill Caterers. It really is top-notch. The interior is beautiful the grounds are well kept. The chef does an amazing job with the food selections the hors doeuvres, everything... Please put these people on your list and swing through they have showcase events regularly. No I dont work there, they are my client. I do, however think they run this place really really well...
1/28/2015 - I hosted my wedding day on January 23rd 2015 at the Watermill. EVERYTHING was perfect! I had an amazing time! The food was excellent, and cooked well(steak rare...) dessert was amazing, drinks were cold. I would recommend this venue to any friend.I dealt with Brian Fingerman to set everything up, and then had the pleasure of meeting some of his counterparts in Eric and Bob. Sometimes we were there simply to drop off money, and sometimes just to see the new renovations. Every time, we were met with a smile, and assisted in any way possible.On our wedding day we were met by Eric and Paul(our Matre Di)... more terrific people who were making certain that we were pleased with everything down to the napkins.In the passed few days, I cannot tell you how many compliments we have received about the place. the only thing I would change is that we had more time as the day went by much too quickly!Thank you Watermill!
I’ve never once felt the need to write a review about any venue, restaurant, establishment I’ve visited. I’m the last person to complain or badmouth a place. However, I’ve never dealt with such a disrespectful server before, that I can’t help but write a review.First incident was minor but occurred during cocktail hour. I was standing next to my drink and plate of food and was asked by server Charles “is this yours?” With an rude attitude and walked off in a huff when I responded yes that’s mine. I didn’t think or make much of it.The more major incident occurred during dinner. When we were lucky enough to have Charles serve our table. Literally had my food for 5 mins and Charles was clearing plates at the table. I wasn’t even close to being finished eating, I’m not sure if others at the table were finished either.Yet That did not prevent Charles from grabbing and clearing dishes without even attempting to ask if anyone was done. So when I said I’m still eating as my plate was in his hand off the table . He slammed the dish back down in front of me as he rolled his eyes followed by his signature huff as he walked away. Really is laughable. I immediately got up from the table and addressed him on the side.I then spoke to management. Who did absolutely NOTHING about it!! The server SHOULD of been immediately switched out from our table. If they didn’t want to pull him off the floor. Yet, he continued to serve the table for the rest of the night, making it uncomfortable for all the guests at the table. Because everyone witnessed how rude he was. Had management rectified the issue, wouldn’t even have bothered writing this review. Complete failure.

In July of 2015 (right before the renovations had began) my fiancé and I booked our wedding over 2 years out with The Watermill. Every time there was a Bridal Showcase, we would attend and were more and more impressed each time we went. The food was delicious and the renovations were so gorgeous. Each time we left, we were more and more excited, just envisioning how amazing our wedding would be. The service we had received leading up to our big day was amazing. Anytime I had a question, someone was there to answer it.December 9th, 2017 was our big day at The Watermill and the day went even better than we ever could have imagined. The service that we had received that day was indescribable. We were blessed to be given such an amazing team to handle all of our needs and make sure the day was absolutely perfect, in which it was. Our Maitre’d Sean was so amazing and was there every step of the way ensuring everything went smoothly and as planned. Our captain Danielle was also so amazing and any time I had a question or a request, she was right there. And lastly, our Bridal attendant Jessica, she was my girl for the day.. I can’t say enough good things about her! She helped bustle my gown (very quickly and efficiently), literally catered to me all day and went out of her way to make sure I was ok. I was overly impressed when I was out dancing on the dance floor and Jessica saw me and brought me out a water.. everyone around me was like WOW now that’s amazing service. As for the food, from the cocktail hour to the dessert, the presentation, the taste and the quality was phenomenal- everyone is still raving over it. The decor at the Watermill, especially in December, is so stunning. We also got blessed with snow for our wedding, and that took everything to a whole different level! Snow at the Watermill in December, it totally transformed the whole picture element and created such a warm cozy feeling for ourselves and our guests. I can’t say enough good things about the service we have received, the staff who worked on our special day, and just the whole day in general. If you are looking to book with the Watermill, you 100% won’t be sorry! Thank you to the Watermill and it’s staff for helping make our day so special and memorable
The venue is beautiful. I really enjoyed the cocktail hour. They had bacon!! Never seen it at a wedding before. I love the idea and it was soo perfectly crisp and full of flavor. Pasta sauce was a little too salty. I was too full to eat the entree. The Venetian hour was phenomenal! I absolutely loved the zeppolis, Tri color icecream cake and my personal favorite sfogliatelle.However 1 staff member and theirmanager were rude and unprofessional. The manager lacks the skills in handling conflicts.

My daughter Danielle C. and Joe R. were married on Fri., 12/29/17. The Watermill exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the staff was unbelievable and even went way beyond when we were short 2 centerpieces. Rockaway Beach is back. A good NYC ocean front beach. A wide boardwalk for biking, sand dunes, and beach concessions with something for all. Take the Ferry or subway, stop by the Rockaway Hotel on B108.
Had our daughters sweet 16 and the staff was great. Took the time to make sure the event went off without any problems. Party planner offered practical advice on menu and event which really came in handy.

Easy to see right off of Smithtown Bypass servicing Smithtown and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Valet parking is available. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. This venue felt more like a wedding factory as I noticed guests from at least 3 different weddings. Cocktail hour food was pretty average (which is usually my favorite part of the reception) as was the main course.
This place is incredible! When I was in high school, I went to plenty of Sweet 16s here and I thought the place was alright. They have completely remodeled the building and I have fallen in love with it. Its now a very Hamptons feel and an incredible place for a wedding or business party!

Starting with Brian Fingerman who helped book our wedding and setting it all up, to Tom Lauterborn for any questions we had if Brian was not in, to our Matre D Nick, Bridal Attendant Jessica and the Captain Mike! I worked there for 7 months , one staff member attacked me in the parking lot . I was on a quick break to take my medicine, he was banging on my car window . The staff is unprofessional. I would never work or go to there again. I did write a letter to the manger about all these situations that have happened.
Disappointing experience with Brunch with Santa. After waiting 1.5 hours for Santa to arrive in the brunch room, Santa never showed up. Then, after we were done we waited an additional 15 minutes in the Santa display area located in their lobby and he never came. Try explaining that to our 3 yr old and 18 month old. Not a great experience, definitely wouldnt recommend this venue for events. Find another venue that is more family friendly and intimate.Update 12/22-Watermill tried to accommodate us by scheduling a private Santa visit, however, our oldest son came down with a cold. We just really wished we received the experience as promise.

Food was good, the party ended up being downstairs. Poor cellphone reception and the wifi wasnt working. Cell phone reception wasnt on them, but lack of wifi made it difficult to keep it touch with my family if needed.
Weve now shot 2 wedding films located at Watermill and attended many more! It is an absolutely gorgeous venue for any event! Its outdoor space is perfect for any season. Hannahs wedding was shot in June and not only was it a great place to relax for guests but it was an excellent spot to take pictures as well! We were able to get super creative in our wedding films because of it. With Nicollettes wedding we were able to focus more around their beautiful fencing where as with Hannahs we were able to focus more on their fairytale like walkway. Wow, what can we say about Watermill Caterers aka The Watermill. Their professionalism and attention to detail is unparalleled. Some people dont want a venue like The Watermill because they claim that theyre a wedding factory. Well to us, we would argue that their extensive wedding experience is one of their greatest strengths. Lets face the facts, we wont be the first or the last people getting married so why not go with a place with people that are well experienced in putting on a wedding.Our first meeting with a representative of The Watermill was with Tom, one of the sales managers. His tour coupled with his candor and helpfulness in answering our questions helped seal the deal in choosing our wedding venue. They offer reasonable quarterly payments up until the final payment due shortly before the wedding day. Their professionalism was highly appreciated throughout the whole process.While The Watermill doesn’t allow tastings of the food specific to your wedding, they do offer complimentary tickets to their wedding showcases (usually one per quarter) where you can try their food. I was never able to go but one of the most frequent comments from our guests on our wedding day was how amazing the food was.We also dealt with Brian, director of sales, as our wedding got closer. Brian helped us finalize the details and was extremely communicative and interactive to our many last minute unforeseen needs.And finally, the day of. Our Maitre’d was Sean, with Caitlin assisting as bridal attendant and unfortunately I must apologize for forgetting the name of our wonderful captain. The entire staff at the Watermill was so accommodating to our every need. From Caitlin offering us glasses of water as we were taking pictures, to constantly helping with my wife’s dress, the staff really did think of everything we could possibly need. As with most other couples, we did not have a chance to eat that much during cocktail hour but Sean and his staff ensured that there was a smorgasbord of food waiting for us in the bridal suite once we were done with pictures. Sean was also very accommodating to our day-of timeline which was very specific.I would not hesitate in recommending Watermill Caterers to any couples looking for a venue to celebrate their wedding day. Their price is reasonable, their service impeccable, and their food delicious. I am a very discerning customer and can be quite picky with where I spend my money. I can confidently say that Watermill Caterers met all of my expectations and more! Thanks to Brian, Tom, Sean, Caitlin and everyone else who helped plan and execute our special day.

Highly recommend NOT choosing Watermill Caterers as your wedding venue. They will tell you anything you want to hear, just to get you to sign for a date and put down a deposit. Theyll make it easy to afford with payments every other month. Theyll tell you that the prices are going up soon just to get you to sign quicker. I cancelled my wedding 5 months before the date and they refused to give me any refund...meanwhile I already paid them half of the bill, which was a lot of money. The wedding was called off, not even like we switched venues. When it came down to the contract, they didnt make it right by any means. The statements in this review is based on my opinion from my experience dealing with Watermill Caterers sales staff and owner.

Do not do business with this establishment! They are not giving refunds for weddings that were scheduled and upcoming for the year during Covaid. They received multiple PPP loans from the government as well, and will not give people back their money.
I must apologize, I confused Watermill Caterers with another place I visited in NY at that time.Watermill Caterers hosted my Nieces wedding and it was beautiful. They have an awesome staff and the place is gorgeous.
The service is great, and they make time to answer all your various questions. The banquet managers are friendly, and the food I tasted during their bridal expo was phenomenal.
Went to New years Eve party there. $150 pp and no top shelf liquor. Extremely disappointing. Will not go again. Food was ok. Service was good, but not worth the price.
Beautiful place but the staff was really rude given the importance of the day and how special it was to the guests and the food, honestly, was not really that great with how expensive it was. Lovely environment but I would never book anything there.
Every Bad review on here is correct in every single way. Im never one to complain but the staff was very rude. i went up to the bar which had no line at the time... Me and another guy went at the same time... so we both were being kind to each other saying who can go first..it was a mere 5 seconds at best....Freddy the bartender rudely yelled...cmon guys speak up,lets go And a few others complained about him aswell.The Food portion was very very small..no body liked anything. Dont waste your money.Because of how freddy was rude to all of us is why i came here and left a bad review for this company

Absolute worst establishment Ive ever encountered. The general manager Roy is rude, Anthony Fingermann (a sales rep) will say anything to get you to book a wedding with them and than claim he didnt and change the terms, and the owner wont take responsibility for anything his employees say or do. I was not only charged a $250 cancellation fee that was never stated in the contract they have you sign but I was also charged a $30 stop check fee after they sent my deposit to the wrong address! Avoid at all costs!

My job had a formal function on the lower level of this venue. My plus 1 took the train from the Bronx to meet me at the venue. I was already downstairs when he arrived. He was stopped at the door and not allowed to come in the venue because he didnt have an invitation. However, several guests at my function including myself did not have invitations and were not stopped from entering the venue. He tried to call me several times but there was no service on the lower level. Instead of helping to figure out the situation (by maybe having the DJ call me upstairs to verify that he is my guest) they turned my guest away. He had to take the LIRR all the way back to the Bronx in the middle of the night. Im very disappointed by the lack of consideration displayed by the staff at this venue.

This place is a disaster, the food was mediocre at best, the waitstaff had the worst attitude I have ever encountered, giving dagger eyes and rolling of the eyes when you asked for something, coffee was cold and served 10 minutes after the cake...ugh dont waste your money, many more sophisticated and classier places to have your venue.

The whole event ran so smoothly and everything was so well prepared. The food was exceptional and the staff was so attentive. I highly recommend this place if you were looking for a wedding venue.

2022-05-07Was here for a wedding and have plenty of great things to say. The small chapel-esque area for ceremonies is very nice and fits a decent amount of people. The food for the cocktail hour was incredible and had so many options, honestly it was even better than the main course that was offered, so Im actually glad I accidentally filled up! Staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Reception area was great and had plenty of space for people to dance. Id look forward to any further events Id get invited to here!

2022-05-20We had our wedding at the Watermill in Jan 2022. We were blown away from the minute we toured Watermill all the way through to our wedding day. The food was phenomenal, the grounds and inside decor were beautiful, and the staff was professional. Watermill has everything well planned out, including how fast the food is served. They pay attention to all the little details which add up to having a wonderful experience. Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was. We had Johnny, Nick, and Jeannine helping us on our wedding day and they were great! We were so pleased with them. Jeannine, my bridal attendant, was always checking in to make sure we were okay and helping us along the way. We are so grateful to everyone at Watermill for helping make our wedding day a dream come true. We could not have asked for a better venue!

2022-03-21Speechless. The Watermill is absolutely beautiful. We are a pandemic wedding that had been postponed twice. Throughout the last two years Tom L has been more than amazing. He guided us on making some tough decisions. And The Watermill as a whole communicated with us every step of the way. From the moment we walked into The Watermill 4 years ago, to the very last minute of our wedding night, they were amazing, accommodating, and FUN! They are truly one of a kind!

2022-03-31What a beautiful venue! Went here for my cousins wedding and everything from the food to the décor was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and was so helpful. They made the guests feel cared for and special every step of the way. The bride and groomsman suite was immaculate and the staff was attentive when we were in there. There were many lovely areas to take photos which was great for not just the bride and groom but the rest of the attendees. The food was delicious. Quite a few options during the cocktail hour and delicious entrees rounded out the evening. Great experience from start to finish, I would recommend for any bride to be!
