WellNow Urgent Care in other cities:
Thanks go out to Mr. Ray Webb, NP who made my visit a pleasant experience. He was very friendly, professional and very informative. Even though, I wasnt feeling well he made me laugh.I can tell hes a people person that you could hang out with and have lots of fun. Plus he was efficient and my scripts were already at my pharmacy when I arrived!Thank you Ray!
The doctors and others that work IN the location are fine. This review is directed entirely at the terrible scam that is WellNow Urgent care and the company that runs it.This whole place is a scam. They will bill your insurance. Once that is paid they will try and send yet another claim to your insurance that will likely be rejected. They will then send you a bill with amounts that dont make any sense and dont add up to ANYTHING that is on any of the paperwork or claims that were submitted. Their billing phone number goes to a black hole where no one ever picks up. Their billing support email (which is what whoever responds to these reviews will direct you to) says they will respond within 1-2 business days. Its more like a week and a half, at best. Then when you tell them you want itemized details for the bill and an explanation for why they are billing you and attempted to bill your insurance twice, you get no response for days and then when you do get a response it is vague and provides no information but amounts to our bad. I sorted that all out. Then months later I get a bill to my house addressed to my 3 year old daughter. Its a bill for something that was done less than a month ago (that wasnt us) for a patient name that was not my daughter in a location that was 5 hours away from where we live.Stuff like this has happened on MULTIPLE occasions. This isnt just horrible incompetence. They are actively attempting to scam people and insurance companies out of money. They throw whatever bills and claims they can and hope that people will pay them and be too afraid to contest them. If you get ANY bill from WellNow, I would strongly suggest you do not pay it until they can provide a detailed reason as to why and a fully itemized bill. Even if you do owe them money, you can safely bet that they are inflating what you do owe because they know most people will pay it, and if they are challenged they will pretend that it was a billing error.Avoid any and all WellNow locations like the plague. Its a horrible, unethical business.
The staff was patient, professional and very kind. From the front desk receptionist to the caregivers. There is a long wait without an appointment but that’s to be expected. They told me it would be at least three hours but that they would call me 10 minutes prior so I was able to leave and go home and wait.Very clean efficient and easy access.
We arrived without an appointment at 7:45am and waited in line outside. As the staff arrived they had to walk past all of us waiting. They had no time to ease into their day—they are instantly bombarded. The staff was friendly, prompt and thorough—despite having to deal with customers who were instantly displeased by the crowd. These people should be praised for even showing up! A big thank you to everyone there!!!
The receptionists checked me in, told me about how long a wait it would be, did not encourage patients to congregate in the waiting area (a wise idea, considering social distancing), called me when a room was available and checked me in promptly when I came back in. The nurse took my vitals and in a few minutes a Physicians Assistant looked at my throat and ears and asked background questions. And also asked about any other concerns. Thumbs up!
Exceptionally personable and knowledgeable staff; they provide the best healthcare experience I’ve had, every time. It’s also the only place I’ll go for COVID tests since it’s taken a maximum of 24 hours to get the results when I usually wait 5-7 days everywhere else. Booking your appointment online saves a lot of time, but the best thing about it is how easy it is to fill out compared to the essays you have to write for CVS, etc.
I actually posted a Yelp review which I never do.This staff was outstanding, not with one communication. With several phone calls. Reception or PSR was amazing at location. Thank you so much. Nurse who swabbed both elderly mom and myself was great. They printed our test results and called me to let me know my mom picked them up so I didn’t have to.This was after a horrendous experience at CVS.Like I said on Yelp, life should always be like this,. Unfortunately, it’s just not, especially as you get older and become more invisible to others..This is what a neighborhood care center should feel like.Thank you for brightening our day, and reliving stress rather than causing more. Enjoy your day well care staff!
I would like to say I was very impressed with WellNow and was so relieved to be able to go there without an appointment. The sraff was very professional and welcoming and I had an exceptional nurse. We were placed in different waiting rooms according to our needs and were very comfortable. I shall definitely return there should the occasion arise.. I am very glad they are nearby and I thank them for everything.
A shout out to PA, Kenneth Lampert for excellent care! My teenage daughter had a foreign object stuck in her eye and had a lot of discomfort. The PA was super pleasant, relaxed, thoughtful and persistent. It was a little tricky to get the object out and he put in the extra effort and got it out. He explained everything and gave us the opportunity to ask questions. Left with written instructions on followup care. Very happy! Thank you so much!
We were here from out of state on 06/23/22. I tested positive for covid. On 06/24/22, went to this clinic seeking advise. The entire staff was compassionate and nice. They made me feel comfortable and reassured me that I would be okay. They were upfront about the wait time. Texted me when I could come on in. Very efficient and friendly. I was seen by David Senn, PA. Thank you for your service.
Celecia Raymoun,NP and the whole staff (receptionist, technician) at WellNow Urgent Care on Western Ave. Albany NY were very kind, considerate and professional. I had excellent care. This is the second time I have been at WellNow on Western Ave. The last time was for a covid test and the technician also was the same, kind considerate and professional. Thank you for the awesome care I received!
I would rate it at 0 stars if I could. A 4.5 hour wait for a DOT physical.... come on really! The advanced nurse was a joke all the waiting I did she didnt read my medical history that I filled out. The actual physical was about 1 minute. She wrote my weight down wrong and my height. She decided I need a sleep study....well of course I do when the weight and height is not correct.....Come on St Peters you can do better than this. What is a advanced nurse anyway? Where are the Drs...........Update...... I sent a email to where you said with my name and phone # you have not contacted me yet.I am looking forward to speaking to you.......Im sure the conversation will never happen.
The people there are nice. I have zero issue with the people that work IN the location. The issue I have is their shady business practices. I took my kids and myself for Covid tests over the course of a couple of months. All insurance information was provided and verified multiple times. They then billed a ridiculous amount ($185) for that test to the insurance company. When that was denied they billed me. Rather than sort that out with the insurance company they sent me a bill which had no itemization and no details or justification as to why they were billing me, which I referred back to the insurance company. WellNow sent it to collections.Only deal with this place if you have no other choice. The business model is predatory and on the same level as payday loan shops in terms of their ethics and how they operate.Again, the people IN the clinic were always pleasant and good to deal with. The business and their practices themselves are absolutely terrible.Edit: After the response directing me to email them with the details, I did just that, which included specific questions on why they billed my insurance twice for one visit, why the total bill they say I owe doesnt add up to ANY of the visits for me and my kids and requesting itemization as to why I owe them anything (I even included screenshots of the multiple claims to my insurance) and surprise surprise...I have heard nothing back from them. Seriously, avoid this place at all costs.
My husband was told by his physician to go to urgent care because he may be having some kidney issues. Since he also had COVID, he was unable to be seen by his physician. He went to this location at 2:15 and was told to come back in an hour. He called back in an hour and was told that he should just come back the next morning, that they are closing at 7 and the wait time is 3 hours. She proceeded to say that he should’ve given his name and he would have been put on the list the first time. He asked the first time to be put on a list and was told no. Extremely frustrating, we tried several other urgent cares in our area, but they did not accept his insurance. The receptionists were very unprofessional, the same woman who told him he should’ve put his name on the list was the one that said that he couldn’t… also, turning him away at 3:15 when they close at 7pm.
Absolutely beyond useless. So unfriendly and literally didn’t care that I said I felt like I couldn’t swallow and my throat felt swollen. All the lady at the desk said was “5-6 hour wait” and nothing else. Didn’t help me register and pointed me to an iPad to register and the link I was sent didn’t even work. Has anybody heard of medical negligence? And general decency? I understand healthcare staff are spread thin but can you even pretend you care about people …. Jfc
Today, my partner had to make a trip to this location. While waiting for the bathroom, a nurse walked out and left it completely empty with no toilet paper left. So he walked up to her and asked her if she could get him some more toilet paper. Her response was giving him a disgusted look and sighing extremely loud as if it was a major inconvenience even though SHE was the one who left it empty. My boyfriend suffers from IBD (specifically Crohn’s disease) which results in multiple bathroom trips a day. Let alone this being embarrassing enough, now a nurse, who is supposed to be respectful towards their patients and not make them feel any less of themselves, having this reaction over toilet paper was disheartening. This nurse, (who had hand tattoos, not sure if they were henna or real), needs to have a talk with about how to treat patients with respect because her actions were despicable. This isn’t the job for her if that’s how she wants to treat people. It’s disgusting. Hire better employees
I was a walk-in and I had to wait a while because of it. I was a little aggravated because I was out all day and didn’t get to have lunch lol.The staff was professional and patient with me even though , they even offered snacks .Very clean and organized , including the staff. It was a good visit and next time I’ll show more appreciation.
Not impressed one bit, reception area extreamly hot great way to fester the germs !! Waited 15 mins to be acknowledged only to be told sorry were not taking walk ins right now its a 6 hour wait with 1 person sitting in the waiting room hmmmm interesting. Reception is not very friendly at all its like they dont want to be bothered, a simple hi well be with shortly would help but instead you just stand there sweating while they ingnore you. Initially went cause my 6 yr old was having ear pain, im gonna assume they dont have kids because an ear ache is very painful and to be turned away, NOOTTTT COOOL will never return to this location.
I work for a home care agency & the phone is still ringing it has been 20 minutes since I asked to get connected to a representative. I just want to inquire about a mutual patient. I also e-mailed them but did not get a response. I should not have to wait this long for an associate to pick up the phone
We where so comfortable with all the receptionist, were Friendly and warm, the minute we walked in. The medical Tecs were Friendly, explaining everything while doing the treatments. And before we left they answered all our questions and concerns. We highly recommended going here. Already told our friends and family.Update: May 22nd, 2022We had to return here again, my husband had ear surgery and we needed assistance taking the cup off and cleaning the wound. Emily the nurse was a sweetheart 💕 along with everyone from the front desk down to who ever was in the back. Cant thank you all enough for your warm and very friendly personalities. This place make truly Welcome and feeling right at home. 🥰
This place is like a scam or they’re racist because every single time I’ve ever tried to “walk-in” they tell me I need an appointment. As I’m watching them accept “walk-ins” in front of my face, you go online to make an appointment and there is never one available. I kid you not I’ve tried the night before the day of online 2 nights before, Nope never an appointment it says we accept walk ins ….if they’re white and go to UAlbany.
Ive been going to this facility since 2020 and they have not failed me yet. Yes, it can be difficult to get appointments or some times I have to wait in line but this is ALL par for the course. They have handled a global pandemic with as much patience and professionalism and courtesy as could ever be expected. I continue to refer everyone here. From the Front desk to the physicians...thank you!
We went to this facility on 10/29 for Covid testing for our family. We arrived around 6pm. I checked in the kids with a very pleasant receptionist. We were told the wait would be at least an hour. We chose to wait in the car and she said they would call us when they were ready. About 20 minutes later we received the call for entry. Our Nurse, whose name I did not catch was absolutely AMAZING! My kids 7 and 9 were so nervous, and she was kind, calm, funny, and comforting! She made the best of a not so happy experience! We appreciate her so much! Thank you for being awesome and providing top notch customer care! If anyone knows this kind Nurse’s name she deserves to be recognized publicly! Thank you again!
Horrible service! Came in for a covid test only to be told they were at full capacity. Ok fair. Tried making appointment using a system they already have and was told I could not. Was asked to come back at a time when they had a long line of people waiting in freezing temperatures. Almost as though they wanted us all to freeze on purpose. Really upset at this facility. Will be looking for a new urgent care center.
While the previous reviews that are low seem to be symptomatic of the onslaught from Covid, I came early on Sat and had to return on Sunday and I got taken care of within mins of arrival. No lines.Care was appropriate to my needs and friendly, masked attendants and physicians assistants. All very competent. They suspected I might have been exposed to omicron. Gave me a PCR test. It was supposed to take 3 days for results. They came by SMS text same day by evening. Impressive!Overall a reliable stop for urgent care. I was lucky 🍀. No lines.
I went to WellNow urgent care yesterday and felt very welcomed upon entering the facility. The reception girls were so friendly and informative. I met with the tech who was so professional and who was so pleasant. Soon after Pat the PA came in and was very kind and helped me resolve my problem.
I had to get a PCR test so that I could be my daughters support person in an out of state hospital. The wait was short and everyone was very friendly and service was good. I MUST receive my results by tomorrow morning which will be the 48 hr mark. Hopefully, they will come thru for us.
Absolutely appalled at what this location has become. Have frequented this location multiple times and every time it has become progressively worse. After today will never visit again.Took a child to have testing due to being symptomatic. Arrived at 9am as a walk-in, and checked in. Was advised estimated wait time was 2 hours. Waited in vehicle due to being symptomatic. After sitting in our vehicle for 2-1/2 hours with a child vomiting, went back in and was advised still 6 people ahead of the child...at again 2-1/2 hours. At 3-1/2 hours, I went back in again and was told this time there was now 9 people ahead of the child...What?!?!I lost my composure and told all the staff that if they couldnt accommodate a patient, they should have never agreed to do so, especially a child no less and after being fed the above waiting 3-1/2 hours. We walked after this.Another time a few months back during a visit, witnessed staff screaming and yelling at each other in front of patients.A complaint has now been filed with the DoH.
I went for a symptomatic covid test and arrived just a few minutes after opening. There was a line out the door. The line moved quickly and distancing and masking was enforced. The receptionists were super pleasant in spite of being completely slammed on a Sunday morning. I was able to wait in my car and then was called when a room was ready. The nurse and the doctor were sweet and kind. An all around great experience! Great job!
I came to WellNow with a bit of an odd request, to verify that I was ill for my employer. The providers and front desk staff at WellNow were so kind and helpful in a very stressful situation for me. They are professional yet also warm and caring. I highly recommend this urgent care to anyone needing it, and I commend the entire staff for making me feel welcomed and for helping me through a difficult situation! Tommy and Diana were fantastic, and deserve recognition as excellent providers at this location. The virtual waiting room process was fantastic. The entire staff was friendly. Thank you WellNow!
Staff and providers at this Wellnow have been great. It can be a long wait to get tested, but that has nothing to do with the people who work there. There are just a lot of people who need testing. I’ve been to the Western Ave location several times for my kids and myself and the longest we’ve had to wait for results is 36 hours. Nobody *wants* to have to go, but when it’s necessary, this is the best option for my family.
It was an extremely busy night. I do not know how the front staff managed managed to handle everyone and remain positive, helpful and professional. They were great. It was a wait, but the waiting room was nice. I was in a lot of pain and a little frightened as to why. Soon enough I waa taken into an examination room . My vitals were taken an a PA appeared. I was examined, given diagnosis and went to the pharmacy to get prescribed medication. If someone told me then that in two days i would have the relief i have. i wouldnt believe it. Not completely but i am not having involuntary tears and incredible pain is a complete pleasure.Thank you all.
My Son was hit in the face by a baseball. Suffered concussion and broken nose. As soon as we got to the doors to enter, a nurse brought him back immediately. Our doctor was awesome and very thorough. They were very busy when we arrived, but the entire staff was on top of all my sons needs and they were very nice. Best urgent care visit we have ever had. Thank you to all of them.
Two receptions where friendly in taking the insurance and medical information. I was in an exam room in less than 10 minutes. My vitals were taken and within 15 minutes a doctor examined me and carefully went over next steps. She also provided background information on moving forward. Great experience.
Thank goodness for the professional services of the WellNow team. I am one of those people who hate going to the ER, and I was too sick to wait for an appointment with my primary care doctor. Every one of the people who work at WellNow, from the front desk to the x-Ray tech, made me feel like I was being treated with the best of care. I will be making this my go to urgent care place.
Doctor and nurse listened to my problems with no judgment. The doctor took his time with his exams and did extra tests to be certain he wasnt missing anything. Everyone was very kind and compassionate. I received a detailed note of instructions on what to do. So helpful. Highly recommend.
I had an unknown foreign body stuck in my foot and I got in and everyone was very friendly from the start. Got an X-ray and taken to get a small operation to remove it which ended up taking a while but Bethany was very persistent and removed a small shard of glass from my foot then brought me snacks lol. She was amazing the entire time and words cannot express how thankful I am for her patience to remove that from my body. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at this place and they were very busy when I went but took there time with me. Thank you
My experience here was amazing! I came in at 10AM and left at 11:40AM. If you know Urgent Care, you know that this is a blessing indeed. I went in for a dislocated shoulder and received X-Rays, healthcare and snacks. Once you walk in, you can tell how lovely the experience will be. I will be back again when I need urgent care.
Great experience, which is rarely the case with urgent care. They took me in to a room quickly, had a nurse take vitals and ask initial questions about my issue, and only had me wait a couple minutes before a PA came in to see me. She was helpful, asked additional questions, and provided me with answers and medicine. While she was waiting for the medicine to do its thing, she gave me the remote to the television in the room so that I could watch something while I waited. When she came back, she discovered it worked and released me. On my way out, I grabbed a Slurpee from the waiting room. Again, great experience.
I have lived in th Slingerlands area for years and never noticed a SPHS Wellness Urgent Care center so close. The facilities are clean. The reception was kind, caring, and concerned. I did not have to wait a long time. I was given a patient review by the nurse then the doctor spoke with me. The service was breath taking, the doctor actually took time and listened to me. It was the best medical urgent service I have received in years. Thank you WellNow your caring service promoted my wellness. People try them out you will be pleased. I was 😀
I tagged along for my mothers visit as a translator (English is not her first language). The nurse and PA were so kind - they talked and listened carefully so that my mother could understand them well and talk about her symptoms. They made her feel comfortable and heard. Also, service-wise: we were attended to within minutes of us entering, and they explained possible causes for symptoms and treatment options very clearly. Highly recommend to anyone!
There is a worry going to most urgent care facilities that the staff arent going to give you proper time, or wait times being crazy, or just not care. Not at this place. All of the staff was helpful checking me in my first time, gave me the time I needed, and made it as quick and easy at it should be. Great urgent care facility that I would highly recommend to anyone in the area needing one.
Well now urgent care on Western Avenue, surprised me with the great care I received there. It was my first visit there. The staff were caring, and all wore masks. The waiting area was practically empty, since they made everyone wait in their cars. After registering, the wait was not a long one. They called me on my cell phone when it was time to be evaluated. Great service!!
Quick, clean, friendly, and professional. I had to bring my 4 year old daughter in for a COVID test. We were greeted warmly at the reception area. After checking in we were quickly placed in the examination room. Only a few minutes later, a very pleasant, respectful, and polite young man named Keegan walked in to perform the nasal swab. He was very good with my daughter, to the extent in which he presented her with a Well Now teddy bear and some Disney Frozen stickers after he had finished administering the test. Overall a very professional environment with a very capable and pleasant staff. We would certainly return and also recommend others to this facility.
So bad.very bad. Dec 28 went to the test. Dec 30 afternoon I got my result. But my two kids are still waiting the results. Tomorrow 4:00Pm will pass. I don’t know what time can out ! From Albany to Montreal needs 4 hours. Tonight I moved to the Plattsburgh. Hope tomorrow morning I can get my kid’s results.
Staff is very pleasant from start to finish. Waiting room is very clean and seemed cozy and comfortable. Due to covid I checked in and waited in my car until a room was ready (I waited maybe 5 minutes, if that). The room was nice, private, and comfortable. My room had a TV in it to pass time between nurse/doctor/check out. I was able to reserve a time slot online to ensure I could get in in a timely manner because we all know how busy urgent care centers can get. Upon doing this, you get text updates if they are delayed or if everything is going as planned so you can decide if you want to wait home or in your car a bit longer before checking in.There is also a nice parking lot in the back with plenty of spots and room to get in and out without a struggle.
This is the worst clinic we have ever experienced. The worst service! We have waited for the nurse for three hours. She even did not give us any wound treatment. Staffs are pretty rude. The owner responded to my post here. I contacted as suggested through emails address they provided. They asked my contact later. I did not give my contact to them twice. But I have never received a call back.
We (as a family of 4) needed PCR tests before our flight and this place made that process very easy, fast and smooth. We went there on Friday evening for the test and next day in morning we got our test results back via text message. Thank you for your fast service! Wonderful and helpful staff!
Normally I have good experience with this urgent care but last time was appalling, the doctor didnt listen to a thing I said, glanced at my tonsils and told me they were unimpressive and refused to treat me. Well three days later Im in the ER and getting scheduled for a tonsillectomy, so uhm I think I was a little misdiagnosed.
Good experiences start at the front desk, and the gentleman that greeted and checked me in was pleasant and efficient. Especially when you are not feeling well. My nurse came in after a few minutes and Lindsay Bishop was amazing and knew I needed to go to the emergency room. Although, I hate going to the hospital, but St Peter’s Nurses and Dr Finland were wonderful as well.
I needed to get a Covid test. These seem to be harder to find now. Other places could not accommodate me same day. Wellnow accepts walk-ins and I didnt wait even 15 minutes. The nurse was great and best of all I had the negative PCR results back by the evening of the same day! This is my second visit to Wellnow. I went earlier this year after cutting my finger and they were great then.
I was very impressed at the efficiency, cleanliness and professionalism at the clinic.Staff were pleasant as well. I had a Covid and strep test. On check in I provided my land line number. Had I been informed a cell number was needed in order to be texted a code for results, I would have given my cell number. This is my only reason for giving a 4 and not a 5. .Because of this I am unable to retrieve my test results on line. While the nurse who did the tests said she would update my record, the change was not noted. So I called and they gave me test results but now I need to go back to get the result in print. This could have been avoided had staff stated a cell number is needed for the results code to be texted. I have both a land line and cell phone and Im sure others my age do as well. So, please dont assume everyone only uses a cell phone.
I can’t say enough about how pleasant our experience was. I wanted to make sure my teen’s allergies were really just allergies, and got a COVID test for her there. The staff was warm and reassuring, and I had the PCR results back and posted online within about 12 hours.
My daughter went for a rapid PCR test on Friday 9/3. We chose this location because “same day” results were advertised. Then upon testing the nurse said 24-48 hours. It’s now been 49+ hours and we still don’t have a result, and the online process is only showing that the test was sent out. There’s no obvious way to speak with someone. This isn’t helpful at all.
There was a line out the door right when this location opened but the wait time wasnt bad at all. The provider was thorough in the examination and took time to make sure my questions were answered. Didnt feel rushed at all. Overall had a good experience and would return to this location (if needed) in the future.
This has actually been one of the best urgent care experiences Ive had! I was nervous to go considering some the low ratings, but Im really glad I did. I did not go for a covid-related issue, but because I was experiencing a really painful sore throat. I was greeted and seen right away, the staff was friendly and also very attentive! Despite my lab tests coming back inconclusive, the PA still prescribed me medication to assist with the pain I was experiencing, which other urgent cares have denied me. Definitely recommend going here!
I stopped in to get sevices. The receptionist took my information as I didnt have an appointment. However, the receptionist told me that she will call me within 2 hours to come back. She never called me back to come in to be seen so, I went back. However, I didnt have to wait long and service was good. I enjoyed a great conversation with one of the nurses. 😊
First of all, the care I received was excellent. I got the results of my COVID test in less than 24 hours! Great.I was expecting an experience like you would get at CVS where you pull up, get a kit, swab your nose and leave. This is not what you get here, you have to have an office visit which is much more time-consuming. Check-in. Wait in waiting room. History/vitals/triage. Wait in treatment room. Provider visit.I needed a COVID test because I was having cold/flu symptoms even though I was vaccinated. I arrived at the site 10 minutes before my appointment time and texted from the car as I was told. Almost immediately they texted back that I should go in. I checked in at the desk and they told me to sit down in the (relatively small) waiting room and wait my turn. Keep in mind that I am there because I think I may have COVID. I told the person there that I did not feel comfortable waiting in a place where I could be infecting others so they told me I could wait in my car. I waited outside until about 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before being called in for history/vitals/triage. The PA came in relatively quickly and was very good.If I had know how long this would take before hand I might have chosen to go elsewhere. The process took way too long and could potentially expose people who are there for other issues to COVID in the waiting area. They should rethink how they provide this service.
I went to WellNow to get a Covid test because I wasn’t feeling well, bad headache & stomach pain. My test was negative but Amy Summers, NP went the extra mile to really talk to me about how I was feeling, recommending that I go to the ER for further testing. I never would have gone without the push and it turned out I had something seriously wrong needing some urgent treatment. I am so grateful and starting to feel better. Many thanks to Amy & Sharona for kind & competent care!
Nurse came never introduced himself and the PA never introduced herself. The PA stayed 8 feet from my swollen elbow, did not touch or inspect it anyway and basically diagnose the elbow as bursitis and order x-rays. I dont believe I needed x-rays. She did not even ask me if it hurt or inspect the bumps inside the swelling. She came back and said it was bursitis. I had to encourage her to get closer and feel the bumps before she left. All in All very bad medicine.
Normally when I have gone to an urgent care it takes hours of just sitting around waiting for 5 minutes with a doctor, this is definitely not true here. The doctor that I saw was not in a hurry and took her time with me to be sure that I was knowledgeable about my condition. They are very efficient and helpful and this place is clean and pleasant. The staff is exceptional. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of treatment.
I went to the WellNow as a walkin and it was a 30 minute to an hour wait. Which I kind of expected considering how many people were there. The good part is I got to hang out in my car and they called me when it was my turn. Everybody was very professional and friendly and once I was in and seen everything went quickly.
This is the only urgent care I’ve been to in my area that understands how to deal with kids, and to top it off, an autistic kid. They explained everything they were doing to my 11 year old and gave him time between each test to prepare himself (covid test and strep throat swab). They even gave him a fidget spinner after the appt. The way they have it set up so you can make an appointment and then wait in your car until they text you to come in, limited the time we were in the waiting room. Covid results were easy to get via text and we had them in 24 hours. Hands down, the best urgent care in my area!
Had a wonderful experience here at the Western Ave location from the friendly receptionist to the assistants to Adrienne the PA fast friendly caring service. I work at a big hospital and how I was treated meant so much to me. I am glad I went here. Excellent place keep up the great patient care. A very happy patient 👍😊
These guys are amazing. There was a really long wait time, and you could tell the staff had been going non-stop for quite awhile. I got there around 11 and didnt leave until about 1:45p. Regardless, everyone was very polite and helpful. I waited quite awhile, honestly pretty skeptical about care based on other Urgent Cares I have been to. But I would come back here if needed.
The nicest urgent care Ive ever been to. Massage chairs in the exam rooms? Amazing.Because of COVID-19, there is some kind of delay. When I arrived I signed in on my phone and got to wait in my car until they were ready to see me. It did take a while for them to run tests and all that, so the whole experience took around 1 hr 45 (30 min of which was waiting to be called in). Overall, not as bad as I expected during a time like this-- plus the staff was incredibly friendly.
I was impressed with the staff and their care of me at the end of a long day near closing for them. Never did I feel rushed or that they were rushing. Being the end of the day most pharmacies were closed and they took the time to find a n open pharmacy so that I could immediately begin antibiotic therapy along with a steroid inhaler.I would definitely recommend Wellnow Urgent care.
I was here just for Covid test that may not even take 10 minutes and they make me with for over an hour the people who come after as been seen and left and I was just waiting I don’t know how come it take for ever to just take a test over 1hr I do not prefer this place for Covid 19 test
I was passing through Albany when I became ill. Very anxious since I was out of town. From the minute I walked into the clinic they room me under their wing. I received amazing prompt care. Karen Taft, PA knew almost immediately that I had Shingles. I will be forever grateful to Karen and the staff for their kindness.
5/11 Update.. went back for another covid test... This time for a test with symptoms... as a walk in and waited 4.5 HOURS!!! and WAS NOT SEEN....... Went to an Albany Med Urgent Care and was seen pretty much right away...4.5 hours... outrageous... Never mind everything I asked how long I got lied to....Original Review.....Scheduling was easy, Wait time was minimal and the staff was very helpful and nice. My nurse Holly was amazing. and caring and did my Covid test without scraping my brain :)
Way overpriced! Youre better off going to a different Urgent Care. I went here for a laceration on my leg and was only there for about 10 minutes... Kevin Lynch quickly looked at my leg and said it wasnt infected and I was on my way. I was billed $300 for a 10 minute visit. Ive been to other Urgent Cares in my past (which my appointments were a lot longer) and it was much cheaper.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this urgent care. Sunday was my second time at WellNow Urgent Care on Western Ave. Both experiences were positive from the time I checked in until the time I checked out.Sunday was hopefully the end of a 3 year health problem that caused me pain, distress and eventually depression. The PA, Michael, pretty much knew what my issue was within 5 minutes. He was knowledgeable, explained things clearly to me, was kind, compassionate and after 3 yrs validated a health issue I was dealing with. I cant express how very grateful I am to WellNow and Michael!!I just want to know if I can make WellNow my primary Doctor!!😀 thank you...thank you....thank you!!
Do not recommend for any reason. I have been to the location on Western Ave in Albany 3 times for COVID testing, each worse than the last. Despite low/normal amounts of traffic each time, they are ALWAYS late, and not just the normal doctors office late. My last appointment (today) was scheduled for 1:35. Despite most of the rooms being empty, I could not be seated in a room until 1:50 and the appointment did not begin until 2:35 (and Im certain it only started that soon because I had let them know I was late getting back to work and they were already an hour behind). The entire time Im sitting there waiting I hear staff gabbing about lunch breaks, social media, etc. The clinic had maybe 2 other patients, one of which came in for an appointment around the same time as I did. Employees all had attitude except for the actual medical professional that spoke to me, and it was very clear they had no interest in even being there, let alone helping people. I can understand if it is busy and I am waiting a few extra minutes, but waiting an hour for a nose swab and getting my vitals read was absolutely ridiculous. Cant even imagine what people with more severe illness/injury go through here.
Came to this location for the first time and had an awesome experience.. The front end lady, didnt catch her name was awesome answered all my questions accordingly. And Alex the nurse who took blood pressure etc. Was exceptional.. Totally professional kind and caring
Showed up at 7:20pm to access urgent care. There were at least 5 persons huddled around the nurses station in the back all laughing and having a good time. Someone approached the reception desk where I was standing and I was told that they were no longer seeing any patients...they close at 8pm. When I mentioned that it was only 7:20pm and that they close at 8pm, she said they were able to refuse to treat patients because they made quota for the day, and the uppers told them to do so once they hit their cap for the day. THIS IS INSANE!!!! WELLNOW, THIS POLICY NEEDS TO BE REVISTED!!! WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC!!! I was told I could go to Troy, as they close at 11pm. Im in Guilderland.
Professional, compassionate staff. Very easy, smooth check in process. Just make sure if you’re going for a Covid 19 test to book an appointment and you must do this at the stroke of midnight since currently the pandemic rages and all the slots fill up in about a minute. I did see some trainees amongst the staff at my second test though, so looks like they’re keeping up with demand. Nice job!!
Horrible experience. Scheduled a visit, got a confirmation text with appointment time. Showed up 10 minutes early as requested. Waited an additional 30 minutes called them. They said their system pushed the appointment time back 5 hours, no call no nothing. What a waste of my time. Would not recommend this place. Plenty of other urgent care places in the area.
First time experience last night exceeded expectations. Although the office was very busy, staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Environment was kept clean and they followed good protocols with Covid related matters. We were helped in a quick and efficient manner and was able to pick up prescription on the way home. My son is already starting to feel better.
The staff was very nice but the facility is very small and under the circumstances there was no real social distancing going on. I waited in my car, which was great, but there were several people in the waiting room for covid testing, including young maskless children running around. trying times.
I have no idea how they have so many high ratings - probably because most people use this facility for COVID testing. DO NOT go here for other urgent care needs. They seem to be so busy with COVID testing that they do not have time to attend to general urgent care patients. I was waiting in the waiting room for a while as I watched many people walk in and out for COVID testing. I felt extremely dehydrated and had UTI symptoms so sitting there for hours didnt help. I was there for a total of 3 hours when all they did was check my urine. I had questions about a medication I was on and didnt understand why I was so dehydrated despite drinking so much water, the nurse practitioner was clearly in a hurry and visibly annoyed that I had any questions, and dismissed my question by telling me masks make people dehydrated. They didnt even ask what medication I was on. Later that night I ended up in the ER and they confirmed my new medication was depleting my fluids rapidly. I get that healthcare is overwhelmed right now but I dont understand why they offer general urgent care services when they dont have the time to give patients the care they need.
I have visited well now on three separate occasions. Each visit I received courteous helpful and friendly assistance from the staff. The only thing I would love to see change, is when you have a covid-19 PCR test that the results can be obtained Within a few hours vs 24 hours.
I have never really felt the need to leave a bad review at any place before, but I feel this is needed for the sake of warning other people. I went in to get a covid test that took 15 seconds total, and yet was to forced wait for over an hour and a half before being permitted to leave (as getting my test results was dependent on my staying to see the PA). My college campus, for comparison, was able to administer several thousand tests a day. I was repeatedly given inaccurate time estimates as to when I would be seen, and saw several people both come in and leave over the course of the time that I was waiting.NEVER go here under any circumstances; you’d likely see shorter wait times if you went to the ER or drove out of state to get tested instead. It was literally the worst care I’ve ever received, and I’ve seen my fair share of doctors. The only positives were the nice nurse and nurse practitioner I did see (by the names of Shantal and Ray—I think?) who administered my actual test.
My son went for help for an infected and broken tooth. He is out of state from me so I’m limited in what I can do. The subpar PA ordered an antibiotic and only low level Motrin for dental pain. Everyone knows that dental pain can be amongst the worst kind of pain. No one was asking for big guns narcotics... but not treating a patient’s pain with some thing more than over the counter meds is neglectful. Not recommended! I should have had him go to the ER instead. Very disappointing.
Their COVID testing takes a while. mine was 1,5 hour wait time but I did not have lunch so I just went to eat in the meantime. They called me 20 minutes prior to appointment. Nurses and doctors were very attentive and wore proper PPE. They answered my questions and even had a laugh with me about the procedure. Very good experience. Thank you, healthcare workers, be well! We depend on you.
On Monday 12/7 I went to Albany Medical Hospital ER with chest pains, dizziness, body ache, headache, runny nose, and nausea. I was given 2 bags of IV fluids, toridal and zofran. They REFUSED to test me for COVID and discharged me with flu like symptoms. I knew it wasnt the flu. On Tuesday 12/8, I was still extremely sick but took the bus to WellNow Urgent Care and explained the situation. The staff was wonderful! They took me right back and tested me. I cant imagine the stress they are under, but I couldnt even notice it. They were so attentive and caring. I came home and have been in bed ever since. Today I received my results and they are POSITIVE for COVID. I want to say THANK YOU to the staff at WellNow! You made part of this experience a positive one. Be well.
I’ve been to the Guilderland WellNow Urgent Care 3 times and every time was great. There’s a systematic approach and it is well executed. I was never there longer than 40 mins total from arrival to departure. Also before the pandemic, there were coffee machines and even a slushie machine! Super clean as well. Highly recommend this urgent care. Great job St. Peter’s!
Very friendly staff put me at ease, until the uncomfortable dipping into my nostril. I made light of it when I humorously told the nurse am used to being stabbed in the arm with a needle, but not a chapstick in my nostril. The laughter from both of us said it all. Great job from well trained and highly disciplined staff.
I recommend this urgent care. Initially while inquiring over the phone regarding my care, the receptionist was pleasant and efficient. Upon entering I again received a warm and promt registration. The rooms were clean and all covid policies strictly adhered to.The nurse and nurse practitioner again diagnosed and treated my condition expertly and timely.I am a retired ICU RN and grately appreciate good interpersonal communication and skills.Thank you for your service.
Went for Covid testing but they also took the time to check all of my vitals. Made an appointment online and they texted me 20 minutes before my appointment to come in. When I got to the parking lot I texted that i was there and minutes later they texted me to come in. Nice being able to wait in your car. When I got there they were on time and I was in and out in no time. All of the staff were efficient, nice, and professional. Highly recommend.
During this time of social distancing, I was wary of going to an urgent care location to check on an injury, but I was pretty sure I needed x-rays, so my primary care doctor was not an option. The online option allowed me to arrive shortly before my scheduled time and it was only minutes after registering with a personable receptionist that I was brought into a sanitized room. The PA was knowledgable and thorough. I was out the door with all I needed just a bit over an hour from arrival. I would definitely recommend WellNow in Guilderland.
My second Covid test with the Wellnow group . They made my visit very pleasant . . From the reception at the front desk to the doctors and attending . All very nice . Time and patience ! They answered all of my questions. Sent me on my way with directions to finding my results and the care I should take .if positive. Great new clean spot we have . Love it !
Everyone was professional, kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. It was my first visit but I definitely would return for services. The facilities was clean and everyone seemed comfortable with one another. Thank you. was supposed to be 5 star.....hate this electronics stuff...sorry
Went to have 3 stitches removed after a surgical procedure. The PA said they don’t remove stitches from other doctor because of stepping on toes they don’t like to, and refused. I’ve never heard of an urgent care that wouldn’t remove stitches. So i Went down the road to a different urgent care and they had no problem and laughed at this PA and agreed how ridiculous that was. Will not return.
If you’re in need of urgent care make sure to chose a different location. There was nobody in the waiting room, I was placed in an Exam Room within 5 min and then had me waiting fir 90 minutes!! Terrible service chose carefully your facilities... absolutely unacceptable!
The front desk people were great the nurse that worked on me was greatBut I would like to say a nurse came from the back into the front being very loud talking to the front desk people very rudely where the patients could hear her about putting patients in their carsFront desk nurses still acted very professional and answering the very loud and rude nurseWhen you are sick and someone acts like the rude nurse it made me feel very anxious and upset because I was praying to God I did not get her as a person to wait on me thank you and thats all
As essential worker, I visited this location for third time. I went with a positive attitude and I got back the most efficient, most professional, and best personal care I had received in any other place.. This team multiplied back my attitude and everyone in there help me to have a good start of my day!Thank you!
I went to WellNow to have a Hotspot Covid 19 test, after arriving from another state. They open at 8:00am, and wanted to get there then, because of being a walk in, so I wouldnt have to wait in line, but was delayed by over an hour. They were very courteous, and I was in and out in less than a hour. I highly recommend them...
I love this urgent care facility. I was able to get an antibody test for COVID-19 without fear of being infected by others. I scanned a QR code that is posted on the outside door. I returned to my car to start the intake form. I was called for additional information. I was then called to come in and was given a private room. Everyone was kind, professional, and efficient. I’m glad I had the test done. I will check on their website in about a week for the results. In the meantime, I will continue to practice social distancing and self-quarantine.
Had an appointment for 11 showed up half an hour early at 10:30 still been waiting for 2 hours with the only thing done at this point is a blood draw. The blood drawing only taking place after I alerted the staff that I have been waiting for an hour. Doesnt matter if you have an appointment Urgent Care walk ins come first apparently over appointments and waiting 2 hours.

2022-05-03We had such a good experience recently and can’t thank the staff enough! Everyone was friendly and supportive to my two very young children. The staff and nurses were fantastic at making them feel comfortable. We called ahead and anticipated a lengthy wait, but were pleasantly surprised to be called back quickly. The examination process was efficient and we were on our way in a reasonable amount of time. If we need their services again, we will definitely be returning.

2022-06-16Let me start with the positive. PA Ken was excellent. Personable, polite, wonderful personality and professional. I salute him and always wish him the best in all he does. Also I was seen on time and was there for 1 hour. Now 2 things I will change. The girl at the front desk with the exaggerated eye lashes. Rude. She needs to take a customer service class. If someone walks up to you you do not just stare at them. The least you can do is say good morning or afternoon. I asked for a pen i never received one. I also ended up having to pay $90 for a physical although online it allowed me to take a front/back picture of my insurance and said I can pay that way. It had me do multiple steps only to tell me I have to pay out of pocket for a physical. But the light skin girl at the front desk had 0 personality and is not someone that you want to see when you walk into an office, emergent or not. Thanks to the polite petite black girl and PA Ken! Appreciate you two so much!

2022-03-28I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this urgent care clinic. I would highly recommend scheduling online, so you can completely avoid any wait. I was in and out of this facility within an hour and twenty minutes, which is practically unbeatable in my experience. I got all the prescriptions I needed, a doctors note for my work, and the staff were incredibly kind and great listeners. Just to note, they do not have ultrasound equipment, so you have to go to a hospital or another practitioner for that.I hope you go here for any non-emergency medical needs!

2022-05-02I was greeted by a respectful and cheerful reception associate. She was efficient and thoughtful throughout the check in phase and offered to call me when an exam room was ready. I was able to wait in my car.The exam room was ready within the anticipated time frame and the exam room was clean and comfortable. My only objection was there was a reality TV show ( not for my taste) running while I waited to be examined and I was uncertain about turning it off.The Dr examining me was courteous and in my opinion went above and well beyond my expectations. Bravo to her too! She made sure the problem was resolved and suggested a tetanus shot. I hadnt even thought of it and I was very pleased she did. Thanks to everyone there who helped out.

2022-05-31We always have a great experience at Wellnow, and the Western Ave location in particular! The staff is so kind and they dont make you feel rushed while also trying theyre absolute best to take care of every patient that walks in. They were wonderful with my young daughter and took the time to ease my concerns while also educating me on next steps. No one wants to go to Urgent Care ever, but when you actually leave feeling better, thats pretty amazing.

2022-01-01The Nurses and Doctors at WellNow Clinic on Western Ave have always been amazing with my son. We have gotten a Covid test 4x the last 2 years and they are always so kind and good with him. They also do a thorough job of checking his other symptoms and helping when they can. They are responsible with wait times, taking all waiting patients names and then having them wait in their car. If they have to turn patients away because they have met their capacity for the day, they offer alternatives and do their best to meet needs. Highly recommend.

2022-02-27I am a new patient to this practice. First, I was impressed that the Clinic was open in a snowstorm. I was greeted with a warm “hello”; the registration process was smooth and speedy. I was directed to a waiting room and seen shortly thereafter. The nurse who cared for me was reassuring relative to my needs and about my pending test results. I wholeheartedly recommend WellNow Urgent Care on Western Avenue in Albany/Guilderland.

2022-07-06I brought my 87 yr old mom in for stitches after she split her knee wide open. Mathew was her doctor. He was awesome. He consulted with ken because it was so deep and jagged. Ken concurred with Matts assessment and he got to work. He was sweet, personable, compassionate. He explained everything he was doing step by step and he was awesome! I wish he could be my primary. He is a keeper! We were in and out pretty quickly. Would definitely go again!! 10!
