2021-04-13This garden belongs to the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. Dogs are not allowed in this garden. There are secuity guards that keep an eye on the garden. It is not open 24 hours. It is not called, West 111th Street Peoples Garden that is a community garden that is on the other side of Amsterdam Avenue.

2020-11-24Every Saturday Morning, there are people out there especially myself who donate their time to do some volunteer work inside the garden to do cleaning and raking grass leaves and planting next to the bushes for new flowers.

2019-02-26This is mislabeled and is what is known as the Cathedral’s “garden close” or just referred to by the Cathedral as “The Close.” (Maybe that’s in keeping with Anglican lingo). This is NOT the West 111th Street People’s Garden. That garden is located at the corner of West 111th and Amsterdam Ave. across the street and is a NYC Green Thumb Community Garden first established by community activists in the 1970s. Also, a nice place to visit or volunteer!
