Very good. Alison was a very good server. Great personality, every one friendly. Lobster Bisque soup was delish and went great with Stella Artois beer. Cheeseburger Overload was just that, a big burger and very good. I substituted fries (which were good too) with spinach with garlic and olive oil, for a lower carb experience :). The other burger shown is the Hangover.
Wow. We were on our way to another restaurant in the city, but due to time constraints, found this place along the way. The Google reviews were very positive, so we took a calculated “risk” and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed! My recommendations- For a sizable meat app- the skirt steak sliders (med rare) were fabulous; 3 sliders in brioche buns, appropriately layered with a special sauce, avocado, pico de gallo. The fries- crispy and not oversalted. My main entree was the hanger steak (see below), which was cooked perfectly to my liking (med rare, of course, as you can see in the photo). The steak was accompanied by mashed potatoes, which were light and fluffy, and crunchy green beans. My non-foodie wife had the salmon burger, which she thought was outstanding (and I agreed, after trying a bite or two!). The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We will definitely return here again in the future. :)
Discovered this conveniently located bar when needed a rendezvous for a meet up. Place was packed on a Saturday afternoon with heads craned toward the big screens watching Serena Williams play. Although the place was crowded, the bar was attentive amd swift. The patrons were friendly and fun and it was an all-around good time. Did swing back through later and caught the live band which was cool and made for an interesting nighttime vibe. Would go back to meet up with friends or just hang out and drink. The later you go, the better to have friends in tow.
Very not polite bartenders. It was the 1st of January 2018. This winter is very cold in New York. I went to this bar and sat down at the bar. The bar was empty, only a couple of people were inside. My hands were very cold and I wanted to warm them up a little. The bartender asked what I was going to drink. I said that I do not want alcohol, I still have a glass of water, but he said that if I do not order anything, I need to leave. If the staff does not have a human face, then I want you to read this and understand that you can not leave a tips to the bartenders with a calm soul!In my photo is just the hero of these events.
Very friendly bartender who gave great recommendations and fun in conversation. Im cautious of watermelon drinks as typically its a nasty processed syrup but they use fresh chunks of watermelon in their watermelon margarita which was very tasty! Tried their queso, and Texan approved!!! Some of the best queso Ive ever had!
My friends and I popped on into the West End Bar & Grill for drinks and a snack for our very first time last May. The locale is inviting; cute & well kept. The service was friendly and prompt. We sat down at a table and ordered lobster bisque, West End wings, Trio of sliders & one of the 1/2lb. burgers. Of course we all tasted each others food and everything was good. I thought the portions were generous as well. The drinks werent bad either. I wouldnt mind trying some of the other items on the menu in the future.
Lovely ‘off of the main drag’ place. It’s s bit pricey, but it was very good quality food.Drinks were good, in the way of choice, but the prices made everything a lot more than expected. We did get a free drink with our meal, so this did make the cost a bit more reasonable. The atmosphere was great, and the two girls that served us were lovely, friendly, and very professional.
We ate here as a family of 4 earlier tonight with 2 boys aged 12 and 8. Outstanding service from Alison F from the minute we were seated. She was attentive and exceptionally pleasant. The food we ordered (3x classic burgers and 1x Napa chicken wrap) was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.Clean plates from the whole family tells a fantastic story and if we had found this gem of a bar sooner, we would definitely be back to try more of the menu.As above, special thanks to Alison F who has a great way with customers.
Loved it. Great food, relaxed, great waitress. Devonn didn’t even laugh at us when we asked her the name of the restaurant because we couldn’t remember. We were a bit put off when we first walked in because the music was loud, but the hostess seated us in a quiet back section that we mostly had to ourselves. It was intimate and quiet. BUT we were not ignored! Our waitress and the manager checked in on us frequently. The lentil soup tasted like home. The sweet potato fries were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Chicken Parm sliders were perfectly cooked and simply delicious. Definitely can’t wait to go back!
My wife and I had luch there 12/21/17, because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Service was great thanks to Allison-very friendly and accommodating. Prices were reasonable and the short rib grilled cheese was delicious and one sandwich was enough for both of us. The lobster bisque was excellent too. Were going back again today.
Good drinks, great friendly service but the food was just on the upper end of so-so. Dont get me wrong, it was good and I enjoyed my meal. It just didnt pack enough of a wow punch to put it on my list of places that I absolutely *have* to return to. Id go again though, if I was in the neighborhood and wanted a quick bite in a friendly place.
Stopped in on a Sunday, between seeing two Broadway shows. Prior to taking our drink order, the waitress actually asked if we were going to a show in order to plan out our meal. Great touch! My wife had Pan Roasted Ckicken and I Short Rib of Beef. Both excellent! Our drinks, however, did take a little longer than expected and our waitress apologized when delivering them due to this we only ordered one round.Overall a good place to eat in the theater district.
What a perfect ambiance West End Bar offers. Everything from brunch, to lunch, and even dinner. This place is everything lower Manhattan is. Wish very chic decor, they maximize the space in a romantic way. Tables by the window and even some more probate tables towards the rear of the restaurant, no matter where you sit, youll be comfortable. The service is exceptionally delightful, with our first encounter being greeted at the door, and checked on by the server at the most perfect times. The lunch specials are amazing, as they come with a beer and glass of wine with your meal for only $15! Thats unbelievable! I had the short rib grilled cheese sandwich with clam chowder and a glass of Pinot Grigio, and my partner had the chipotle chicken wrap with a side of asparagus and an ale beer. Both meals were to die for!!! I really wish I had place like this in my back yard! The service, the food and the environment were all perfect! Cant wait to tell people about it, because its definitely worth it if youre in the city.
Very chill and intimate ambiance with friendly servers. The dry rub steak was exquisite, with the right amount of seasoning and SO tender medium-rare! Shrimp tacos exploded with flavor, and the jasmin rice was an unexpected delight!Outstanding experience, and next time Im *not* on a low fat diet, I plan to return to sample more from the menu! The table next to us got the sliders and were raving about them.
I come in here a few times a year and tonight took my mom out for dinner and drink. I have a bland stomach and my waiter (apologies I don’t remember his name, but he was great) was so accommodating with my order, in which my chicken sandwich was delicious! For a picky eater, this is so appreciated. Mom got the veggie quesadillas and salmon salad, and she loved every bite. As long as the food continues to be delicious and fresh, along with the place having a great atmosphere, I will continue coming back!
Replying to the question - Ordered a Mediterranean plate which was one of the few vegetarian options, and that turned out to have bacon bits which was a big disappointment. The drink menu while diverse, seem to not have the basic drinks that most bars have. Overall, the ambiance wasnt bad but does not compare with other customer friendly places.
The bar itself was nice and the atmosphere was inviting but the service was poor. The lady taking our order completely forgot one of my moms drink and when she asked if my mom wanted another tonic water and my mom said no, she brought her another one anyways. All in all the drinks were good and maybe the waitress was having an off day.
Would have been a one but we had dinner here last night and the food and service were great. Tonight went in going for a repeat and waited fifteen minutes for drinks while the bartender was chatting and not making any drinks and the server was scrolling through her phone waiting for the bartender. We left before the drinks got delivered. Not top notch service.
One of those places that would never survive without a steady stream of tourists, so never needs to have decent service or food. Went here on a whim and was sorely disappointed. Arrived at 2.40, Brunch was on until 3, was told we had better make out order quickly. Decided within five minutes. The place was empty, but the three waitresses mulling about the bar were in no hurry to take our order despite telling us to hurry. Once they did take the order and returned with the food, it was not what we ordered. We were told the kitchen ran out of what we ordered and an executive decision was made on our behalf... This executive decision included microwaved poached pears. We sat and contemplated our meal for a moment over coffee which tasted like dish water and decided to leave for our local diner.
Came in to eat and have a few drink and was told they had happy hour until 7. I specifically asked what was the happy hour drinks. I was then handed the drink menu and told the whole last page. The first round was correct but the second drink I ordered was not although I was charged for it. So we ordered several drinks. The bill came and we were charged full price for the drinks. When asked her trainer the provided a different drink menu said its only these. No apologies no shred of real customer service and she left her trainee to deal with the situation on her own. We paid and left. We wont be back. The food was ok at best. Too much competition around to have so so food.
Went in yesterday and had brunch with a friend, we spilt the bill 50/50, both paid by card. This morning I looked at my cards transaction history to find that my waitress charged me for the full bill PLUS the half of the bill. Called in to handle the situation, but no manager was there so the hostess took down my information and told me to try again later, and that the manager was currently on their way to the restaurant. Called again still no manager. Still have not been able to get in touch with anybody to get a refund. My information was apparently passed along to a manager so I’m wondering as to why I haven’t at the least been contacted.
It was a lively atmosphere, drinks were delicious, although I had the trio of steak sliders with avocado after the first one, the steak was tough. Another person in our group had the lobster sandwich, they were disappointed that it was served on regular toast, instead of a soft bread, the other person in our group enjoyed her meal, that is after she asked if they had parmesan cheese.
Great casual restaurant and bar in Hells Kitchen. I come here with a small group of friends to catch any NY teams playing that day. The food served here is more like an upscale pub. The steak tacos, Greek flat bread, and short rib spring rolls are very good. Starters are about $12 on average and entrees start at $14 and higher.
The menu shown on google is different from what they have. Its much more expensive than whats here. For example, starter tacos are $18, fries are $8. I had this drink called About thyme. It sucked. It had too much of thyme syrup and I couldnt drink it at all. My friends cocktail was basic too, but too expensive for even New York prices.
FYI. Less then a one star. My relatives from Canada went there several nights in a row and were treated well. Then my Brother went in a shirt the owner or manager throught was a Democratic Floridian shirt??? They were told they werent wanted there.... they were shocked and told this person they were Canadians and werent involved in American politics. Needless to say my realitves arent accustomed to such stupidity. Democrats spend you money elsewhere!!
First visit. Three sliders- beef, just okay- chicken parmesan, nice idea poor execution- salmon, very niceSat at bar, laid back atmosphere.Wife had Salmon Salad, she said about it, GreatNice.WiFi:1. there was a guest WiFi SSID which was open, but couldnt connect.2. both taxable and cable SSIDs showed up, but couldnt connect.3. Finally LINK NYC also showed SSID, yet again couldnt connect.

2022-04-25Pretty good place. Their breakfast menu seems to be more interesting than dinner, but everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The service needs some little improvements: we never got napkins or utensils until we asked for it and my order had to be redone (but it was very quick, so no big deal). Overall its a good place.

2022-07-08I was planning on having dinner at another area of the city, but I passed the West End Bar & Grill on the way to get coffee and saw the pride flag flying on the building, so I decided to have dinner there. I had the turkey and portobello burger with yucca fries. Every part of the meal was great and met all of my expectations for the price. Not only that, but the staff worked together to make sure I was taken care of. I didnt even have to ask for a refill on my water. I would definitely recommend. 🏳️🌈

2022-04-13The burger and fries were delicious. The people I was with also said their food was good. The service was another story. We were seated and asked for our drinks as any restaurant usually asks. We never got the drinks until after our meal arrived and my niece was already even done with her meal. Not only were the drinks late but they were wrong. Every time we wanted to get the attention of a server we had to wave them down multiple times. To this moment I still don’t know who actually was my server because of how many different people we had to wave down. Honestly very disorganized and underwhelming.Long story short the quality of the food was excellent and the diner itself was very clean however I’m just very disappointed with service. If you don’t mind being ignored the whole time in exchange for good food this is the place to be.

2022-05-13This restaurant is a hidden gem. I cannot believe this is fast food. The service is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is amazing and the manager is friendly, professional and makes sure she engages with all the customers to make sure they are having a good experience. She deserves to be promoted. As you can really tell how much she cares about this place.

2022-06-19Please bring the sauce... we got the buffalo wings as an appetizer.. excellent wings. Nicely sauced. Good heat and buttery goodness. But for the entree we had the Turkey burger and Chicken Chipotle Wrap. The burger came with no sauce at all and the wrap had barely any sauce. Turkey is lean and fairly dry. If you dont have an aioli or other sauce it will taste dry. Fortunately there is a mushroom on the burger which elevated it above sending it back. Everything was cook fine, but Id only come back for the wings. Sorry.

2021-05-17Whether you come from lunch or dinner, you will leave full and happy that you came. There is ample seating inside and outside. There is great food and great customer service. On a good spring day, you can enjoy the breeze and see all the great faces in the Hells Kitchen area.

2022-01-17All the food was great. The drinks were good. The servicing time was okay, better than others in NYC. Overall I noticed or experienced nothing that would give them less than 5 stars. We spent what I would consider average prices for for 3 people in Times Square. If I would say a downfall, not much on the menus for kids. They do have burgers though.
