Wouldnt stay here again. Given a hard time when requesting early checkin and fact we booked at Hotels.com. Lots of rooms looked vacant and it was not a sell out the previous night.
Positive: Free Breakfast is a best feature in this hotel. Lady working in the morning is very professional and kind! Negative: Our card key didn¿t work when checking in. We had to walk back to front desk again in the rain and we were given another room so we must walk around the building to get to a room. Hotel can do better job to manage the key system working.

WEST GATE is back! So glad. What a great venue for live Latin music. I have so many great memories of dancing here. Mostly a couples crowd on the weekend but lovely.

The rooms were fine enough. They offer free WiFi and HBO which is a plus. Also, vouchers for free breakfast which is a really big plus. Overall the rooms are fine. Air conditioning stopped working the day after we got here. Front desk staff gave us attitude when we brought it to their attention. The cleaning staff brought in some fans to try and alleviate the heat which was better than nothing. But they shouldve put in an emergency service call with an HVAC company instead of waiting for their maintenance staff to come back next week. The water heater stopped working on our 3rd day (guess what? They didnt get that fixed either). Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic and the support/kitchen staff was great! They were only redeeming quality about this place. Im sure normally its not a terrible hotel to stay at, but the only reason we didnt cancel the room was no availability elsewhere.
This place was nasty! We got to the room and it reeked of smoke, the sheets had pubic hairs on them and regular hair too. The beds were small. It had a cheap motel atmosphere to it. NEVER AGAIN! Be for-warned! Check on Google Maps before daring to make a reservation there! The only good thing is that they offer a free full breakfast in the restaurant attached to the hotel. That wasnt enough to keep us there...

The room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker- big plus. There was a breakfast buffet in the morning. Sadly, the window curtain liner was pretty much shredded, and there was some questionable stuff (mold?) in the grout at the front of the shower. The sheets were clean. I found the bed kind of lumpy and hard, but my husband was ok with it.

Horrible hotel. Do not bring your children here. Seems like this place is meant for the night life where you cant see the stained walls, half painted ceilings, broken windows, evidence of bed bugs on the sheets, and just straight up stains on the sheets. Surprisingly, the fridge and microwave were spotless. I did my own disinfecting. Even sprayed down the sheets and gave up when I saw a strand of hair under the covers. The wifi is non existent. Couldnt even stream a movie. I had to use my hotspot. Couldnt watch regular tv either because of the static. I made my son sit on a chair until we were able to check out. DO NOT stay here if you value cleanliness.
The staff here are very professional and polite. The rooms are gorgeous, very clean comfortable! Weather you want a cool or warm room, the rooms are very clean. This is truly an upscale hotel and they also have a restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner! Earliest you could check in is at 2 p.m. and check out is at 12 p.m. next day...
Room smelled musty. Air conditioning selector only worked on some settings. Very hard square pillows that were uncomfortable for sleeping. Also, lots of evidence of needed repairs, spackle, missing paint, hole in the ceiling. There is a big fold in the ill fitting carpeting that I tripped over in the night. Ive stayed in cleaner, nicer rooms at a Motel 6. I asked for a wake up call, which never came. Bottle of water was advertised upon check in but when I asked for one, was told they didnt have any to give. Very disappointing stay, will avoid all West Gate Inns and Best Westerns in the future.
This place doesnt deserve to have 1 STAR. Last weekend, I had my worst experience with my family. From the first second I walked in the room they gave us, it was like a I was entering a hospital for burning patients who are never cleaned. They switched me to another room. Hmm! After I took a shower right after 11pm, I noticed bed bugs having fun in my bed. I took a picture of them and I went in the office to tell them and showed them what happened and I woke up my family and I ran to another hotel in the area. I was traumatized. I couldnt sleep. The next morning I went back to confront the management, instead I was accused of being the one that brought the bed bugs in there. Though I got a refund, still every time I think about it, it makes my skin crawl. It was a complete nightmare for me and my family. I wish I could sue them for their negligence and for making my life and my family so miserable that night. My pictures have a time frame and location in them. This is an era of technology. An unforgettable time.
Just showed up, I was here before and was reading some reviews. People said there was a smell, bed bugs, poor cleaning. But it is not bad! I see no reason to be upset about this room. Would recommend for small trips.
The staff, particularly the breakfast crew, were kind. Thats the only good thing I have to say. I rarely write reviews, but this place as extraordinarily dirty and uncomfortable. I rented two rooms for my family due to to proximity to Sleepy Hollow and pictures that looked fine, but are clearly outdated now that I have actually been there.1. The sheets on both beds in our room had multiple stains on them. Some parts of the sheets were worn out so much that the cloth was thinning out and you could see through it. After asking for the sheets to be replaced (they are stored in a dirty closet that I got to see in with empty bottles and soap bars in a box on the ground) the next batch were just as stained and old.2. The pillows as noted before are weirdly hard and the pillow cases,just like the sheets, have stains.3. The room was musky, walls were turning a yellow color in places, the window curtains had seeming never been changed, there was ample dust on the lampshades, and the bed runner had crusty stains on them.4 The rooms phone, hair dryer and wifi did not work.5. The carpet had a ridiculous amount of stains.How hard is it to at the least, get a new batch of white sheets? Like thats just a bare minimum need. The price wasnt that discounted for a place like this and it isnt worth the awful nights sleep youll get here.
Good value, clean, but a very tired old property. Conveniently close to the interstate, but with single glazed windows so the road noise levels are quite high. Bed was comfortable. The carpets and wall coverings were clean, but really showing their age with a lot of wrinkling and deformed surfaces. Bathroom seemed a bit newer, and was very clean. WiFi signal was terrible in our room, not enough too be usable so cannot comment on the speed. Breakfast was included, basic but ok. Only 15 minutes walking distance from some great restaurants in town.

My family and I were passing through and needed a place to stop for the night on a road trip. With this place, Keep in mind youre getting what you pay for. We requested a room on the first floor for a person on crutches when we booked, but the hotel person didnt seem to know anything about it. They did give us our requested room, but something to keep in mind if you need special accommodation. The rooms are in dire need of updating. There was no door latch on the door as it was broken (half the hardware was still on the door as if it was broken recently). The beds need new mattresses as both me and my wife felt we needed traction in the morning. The walls had screw holes in them from a possible remodel? The walls are also thin, so if your neighbor decides to watch TV at 2am you get to listen with them (yes this happened).In the morning I heard from other family that they requested a remote control from the front desk and never received it. The free breakfast was very underwhelming when you consider they have a restaurant/club attached. One bright spot is the cheesecake. If you stop by or choose to stay, try the cheesecake!
An upscale truck stop to say the least. I didnt stay after my friend and I saw the room and the guests that were around the facility. I lost the room cost but I didnt mind. Room renovation is a must and the bed wasnt comfortable at all.

The good: rooms have both a mini fridge and a microwave, and the bathrooms are pretty decent (good water pressure). The bad: the beds suck, its like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. I like a hard mattress, but I dont think you can even call this a mattress. Aside from that, its not so bad. The droning of cars on the highway didnt bother me like it did some other people, and the people working the front desk were friendly enough.
Ill start with the good, excellent breakfast. The price was steep and the room was old, smelly, and stained walls floors and bedcover. It wasnt dirty just old and stains(if that makes sense) beds were small. Staff was friendly but it was hard to get past the appearance and smell.
NOT worth $100+ at all. Our towels were clearly dirty with someone elses hair all over it and there was PEE left in the toilet from whoever stayed here last. I took pictures but dont have an option to post them on here. The night shift receptionist also gave us an attitude when we asked for a 1st floor room....seriously? The place wasnt even half occupied and she was mad because we wanted a first floor room? Give me a break. The only thing we liked was the breakfast...
This is the 1st review ive every wasted my time to write. Ive been staying here for years. Dude that works the over nites is on point. Super helpful. Rooms are nice for the price. Only issue is the older Spanish lady that works restaurant in mornings. She couldnt be any less courteous and rude. Acts like she despises her job and customers. Have had over a dozen encounters with her and always the same attitude. If food wasnt great, id never go back. Just try to avoid mornings nowadays.
For a quick stay 2 or 3 day it is great. Rooms are compacted but very Comfortable and clean. The big kicker is the diner downstairs where anything can be made for you eat 24 hour. Its also by New York State Thruway entrance and exit.
The rooms are nice, the location is right off the highway. The worst part was the parking because a band was playing at the bar. Spots were reserved for guests of the hotel, but the attendant wasnt around to let anyone in.
Awful! Future travelers beware! Last weekend we had to stay in Nyack for our business events. Worst hotel we have yet to stay in, where to start? We were greeted in our hotel room by a family of stink bugs(which after I got rid of them) upon further examination of the room we found mold on the bathroom ceilings, stains of the sheets & Towels, cracks in the walls and let’s not forget the phone didn’t work. What a disaster! Stay at your own risk.
Stayed there May 27th to May 29th to attend a weeding. The first room they checked us in was extremely dirty. The carpet was not vacuum, they was a smell in the room. The refrigerator was never cleaned which is where the smell was coming from. After i complained, they put us in a clean room, unfortunately the television and the microwave stopped working because a fuse was blown, the problem is we watch television but never used the microwave. That place should close down for renovation asap. Safe yourselves the headache and go somewhere else.
Theres cheap and then theres REALLY cheap. Room was too small to hold the two queen beds, so one was shoved against the wall. I drew the short straw which meant climbing in and out of the bed. The carpet was damp, the room smelled of some combination of smoke and cleaning supplies. There were holes in the wash rags. And then the noise from the highway... Before I tried to fall asleep, I made reservations elsewhere for our second night. I used to think Best Western was a safe choice, but not anymore.
Awful!! Room was above liquor store so noisy. When we checked in owner gave us a bottle of water. He said it was because sink under repair. Got in room and sign from Health Department said that water was Unsafe to drink. Mattress lumpy. Water stains on bathroom walls.
This was a horrible experience.The rug crawled with yuck. There was no hot water. There was no heat. It was cold.We could hear business several times through the thin walls.Food was disgusting.Here is the fun part: We asked to be comped or even get a discount, and the Manager said he couldnt do that. Room was ok.. Nothing special. Shower water temp fluxuated so much it was hard to enjoy a nice shower. Room has a funny smell so we used air freshner. Parking is an issue as they apparently get busy on the weekends in their ballroom/bar and there was nowhere for us to park as we drove around for at least 10 minutes looking. Finally the parking attendent got out of his car and helped. Overall, for the price, it was ok. Could be better but could be worse
Nice little room. Loved the king bed. Resturant staff seemed a little rude. The room I stayed in was super hot when I got there. Could have been a bit cleaner but I get that I can be a clean freak some times.
This has to be one of the worst places I have stayed, if I was best western I would take my name off of the hotel.The hotel is so old and very expensive. The shower is out of date along with everything else. Just because you church up the light fixtures and a flat screen televisions does not mean you can charge over $100 a night. I stayed at the double tree Hilton 2 nights ago 2 miles don the road for $85 a night. This place sucks I dont recommend that anyone stay here.
It was a great experience, great and friendly staff, clean rooms, good choices for breakfast. The only problem was Salsa night on Sat, difficult to get a parking. Overall, not bad if youre looking for a place to sleep plus it was a centre to most of the things i needed to go to.
My time at the West Gate Inn is what I would like to call my second home. I travel from Maine twice a week to Nyack for over 3 years for business. The hospitality of all the staff, cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and facilities, the service you receive and a safe and secure feeling exceeds any large chain hotel! The location is excellent! Also the cheese cake is the best I have ever had. The Palisades Mall is incredible close (around a mile away). There is a 24 hour convenience store with a gas station right across the street. The West Gate Inn also is very close to tons of great locally owned and operated restaurants and night time entertainment that I enjoy. If your planing a trip by yourself or with your family I would strongly encourage you to stay at the West Gate Inn!

My friend stayed here while visiting me at the college up the street. The service was kind, the free breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Overall I would say was a pretty good experience had a fairly good hotel. A nice bonus is that the restaurant is right there which is good for the price.
Dated lobby, but rooms are comfortable and beds are well made and comfortable as well. Theres also salsa nights every Saturday and a diner thats 24 hours. Only stayed one night, but its a solid spot

The staff is friendly the rooms are respectable, the only issues I had were some receptacles not working and the shower handles at least for my room. We could hear the squeak very loudly when the adjoining room turned the shower handles.

I typically visit West Gate Inn on Saturday nights when theyre having their Salsa night events, where they usually have a relatively big name in Salsa come perform in the event area. The hotel itself is in an area that isnt heavily populated, but its also fairly close to the Palisades Center mall. The rooms are fairly standard for what you would expect at this price point, but theyre also well kept and clean. Also make sure to try a cheesecake, as they have award winning homemade cheesecakes in the restaurant area.

BEAWARE THERE BEDBUGS ALL OVER!!!! My family of 4 stayed last week . We brought all of our lougage and including our pack n play for our 6 month baby. After a couple of hours I check on my sleeping 3 year old son that was on the other double bed only to find the horror of BEDBUGS ALL over my sons bed. I had to throw way everything including my pack n play . Then when I asked the management for a refund for my room and a refund to replace my pack n play they I can give a refund for the room but not for your items . I understand that normally there not responsible for your items but in this case it was not my fault my person items were damaged it was the management of the hotel. Now I have to take out of my pocket to replace items that were INFESTED with the hotel bedbugs. GO PAY A COUPLE DOLLORS AND GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL . ITS HORRIBLE
The decor is dated but for the price, always clean, comfortable, conveniently located, friendly staff and a really really good breakfast buffet. Its definitely a place to keep coming back to.

I got bitten on my lips by roaches. Sheets werent that clean. West gate inn is the only hotel I felled asleep after eating some greasy Chinese food, then I felt some bump on the side of my lip. I had a double bed. Spent two nights. Had obe free breakfast coupon. Breakfast was delicious. But late at night the vents connected to the rooms would ventilate cannabis.

I have never stayed at the west gate inn, but I have attended a couple of shows with the dancin machine in their lounge, the band was amazing, the room was packed with folks really enjoying the music, there seemed to be plenty of open tables to sit at, even though a lot of them had reserved signs on them, there is a floor level that is in front of the band, then there is another area that is off the floor with a bar and another dance floor, music is constant, when the band goes off the house system goes on, next door is a dining area where you can buy food and a cheesecake that is famous, I have enjoyed the atmosphere and music both times, parking can be a little difficult if you get there late

Reasonable priced rooms,clean,comfortable.Great lively night club as well as small restaurant serving dinner, bar foods and buffet breakfast which is better than most places.Fluffy French toast,pancakes fresh off the griddle,bacon,eggs, sausage,yogurt,cereal juices and great coffee.Right off the highway ,some rooms can be a little noisy due to traffic but not overly so.

2022-06-22Yeah I found this place by accident while on a bike tour. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but it turned out to be a great little place. Clean if a little bit worn in places but nothing terrible. It was comfortable and breakfast was included!Very friendly helpful staff. All of them!

2022-06-17Run away from this place and never look back!I used to live in the area and the place would always be packed on the weekends. So, when I needed to visit, I decided to try out the place! This was the WORST mistake of my!!! I think I’d rather spend the day in HELL! After a long trip, the first thing I did when I entered the room was use the bathroom, upon exiting the bathroom I noticed an odor that smelled like wet feet. When I looked at the floor their was mold. I snapped the attached picture to show the receptionist. She accommodated me with another room, which was worse! That’s when I realized this was a ROACH motel! I didn’t bother taking anymore pictures, I went back to the receptionist to get my money back. I was told that I couldn’t get a refund because I used the bathroom. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that there was no one to call, so I explained that hotels always have someone on call I’m case of emergencies and that person should be contacted, instead the security guard called the police on me! The cops arrived and agreed with me but said they couldn’t force them to give me a refund. Finally, the receptionist calls the person she claimed she couldn’t call and they said I would have to pay half price for the room and leave the premise. I NEVER received my money back and every time I called the person in charge he was never there and didn’t return my phone calls!I used my credit card to stay at the hotel directly across the road and I’m almost happy I had that horrific experience, but Hotel Nyack was more than a hotel, it was truly an experience. The rooms are like staying inside of an art piece, high ceilings, large windows, and innovative decor ( I would post pictures but I don’t want anyone confusing it with this ROACH motel). Unlike West Gare, whose lobby security guard attempted to give me advice about “making it in life” (I wonder why he assumed I didn’t make it!?), Hotel Nyack’s staff is pleasant and accommodating.DON’T STAY at West Gate, unless you’re looking to simulate what it would be like in HELL!

2022-03-28Stay was pretty good, reasonable rates. The front desk clerk was very nice and made check in very smooth. Nice touch to have the complimentary breakfast in the onsite restaurant. Ill be staying again Mothers Day weekend.

2022-04-15Let me just get straight down to the point, I’ve only been staying here for 2 and a half days and I already hate this place. I read some reviews that there were bed bugs and I’m not risking anything so I literally slept on a chair. The noises outside weren’t nice at all. I honestly didn’t have a bad time sleeping because of the noises it’s just that this place stinks. The bathroom is honestly disgusting and the lighting is horrible. This place is so unsanitary!!! The reason I’m giving it a 2 stars and not a 1 is because I’m not really staying in the hotel that much other than sleeping in it (which is what I was most afraid of before I even got here) there is dust everywhere but since I’m not staying here very much I’m gonna rate it a 2/5 If I chose to stay here or choose a different hotel I would definitely choose a different hotel but if I HAD to stay here I guess I would. If you’re planning on staying here… DON’T!

2022-06-13Stayed here for about 2-3 weeks due to circumstances. Kept being told talk to management for weekly rates. Management has been gone for over 3 weeks. Each time I’ve stayed in this location I’ve developed bed bug bites, respiratory illness’s, and attitude. As an hvac technician I looked in the drop ceiling, their filters are black along with the drop ceilings where there hvac systems are redkneckly installed. Brought the filter to front desk and get attitude and told “talk to management “ when I did bring the filter to the owner himself my last time prior all I was told is I shouldn’t go up in the drop ceiling. Had a contractor friend of mine come test for mold and wow no surprise. Littered with mold. The epa should close this place until they actually do something because people will and have gotten sick the only employee worth noting is Stuart! He’s genuine,kind, and goes above and beyond what his job requirements are. Otherwise the place should be lined with caution tape and a buyer beware sign too.

2022-06-25Disgusting place. Walked in and immediately noticed the sheets were stained and every aspect of the room was dirty. The air conditioner didnt work and the refrigerator didnt work as well. Immediately walked back to the front and signed out. Dont waste your time or money going here. Sleep under the highway and itll be cleaner.

2022-05-15I love this place. You cannot beat a family-run business. My husband I have stayed here and this is my third time staying here. This is my place to come to when Im going to visit my grandchildren here in New York thank you everybody here at Westgate Inn

2021-11-07This place was decently clean, comfy beds, and had friendly service. My only issues were the noises at night. Got back from Sleepy Hollow around 11.30pm to find a few of people talking loudly outside a few doors down, and lets just say the walls are thin. Could have just been bad timing, but not sure Id return.
