I had a wonderful experience at OConnor Chevrolet. I worked with Rob who was genuinely trying to help me and meet me where I was at. He was able to get me into a new lease with a cheaper monthly payment and was able to get into a new lease before mine was up. The whole process was smooth and easy. Horrible service!!! Long story short, purchased vehicle on Saturday, check engine light came on Monday morning... called service dept. on Friday, brought it in today Monday morning at 8:00, they knew l needed shuttle ride back to work, found out shuttle only goes 10 miles one way my work approximately 15 miles one way, so l am stuck here at the dealership until they figure out and fix the issue, meanwhile my plant manager called me and was wondering what was taking me so long to get back, because they are having maintenance problems at work... l have bought at least 5 $50,000 plus vehicles from them... This is the last!!!
The work was not difficult (a NYS Inspection) but the pace and convenience were appreciated. The work was roughly 30-40 while I waited. It didnt hurt that the inspection was free with a complimentary coupon I received in the mail. I also appreciate Christians help with replacing a broken license plate holder.
I had my truck in for warranty work. I was charged labor that I should not have been charged for.I had a bit of a run around with the service department and GM Corporate, so I spoke with Steve Dash, the general manager at O’Connor.Steve made it right! He apologized for the inconvenience and went above and beyond!Steve is a man of integrity and a good leader for sure!If you take your vehicle to O’Connor they will do a great job fixing it and if you have issues, Steve will do his best to make it right.
Have had my 95 pick up serviced here. The original owner was mother in law who loved Oconnor. The truck as always been maintained by Oconnor. They have a fabulous service department and friendly management. I would recommend checking them out for small town charm with big town professional service.
I think this will be the last time I bring my car to this location. In the past, service was okay but I said to myself, “Self…this is where you purchased your car and I’ll stay loyal to the brand”.Yesterday, I brought my car to get an INSPECTION done. My DMV INSPECTION was expired and I thought, “Self…you’re bringing your car in for the 25K required inspection and they would see that my sticker was expired.” I didn’t realize that I had to say to the guys there, “I need to have have my inspection done since I did the same inspection here last year.” I figured, “these are the pros…they see and do this stuff ALL the time.” But the dmv inspection was not done. Issue #1.And come to find out, I could have done the 25K at a much lesser value or free if I had my tires replaced. But none of these options were offered to me until after I paid almost $300 for a multi-point inspection and 2 filter replacements. Issue #2.Long story short…so very disappointed and you’ve lost me as a customer.
Wife bought a car from oconner. we have an issue that we tried to get fixed from another chevy dealer and was not fixed so i called where she bought the car. They did not want to do anything to help us fix this issue on a 2020 that we already replaced the $250 battery and a $350 wheel alignment and we just bought this car in late November. do not recommend going to this dealer.
I feel like I cant let this one go. So I orginally bought two vehicles from the dealer in 2014. Well since used car prices are through the roof and we have low milage on ours, my wife and I decided to buy from OConnor again. I picked out an RST Silverado that someone pre ordered but did not want and my wife was building her Traverse from scratch. I worked out a price for my truck(even though the dealer was giving me $2k less for my truck than another dealership) I was ok with the price we agreed to so I signed the form. So we had a signed agreement for a price for the Silverado. The next day the sales rep calls looking for my GM employee number, since I never worked with GM I didnt have one. Then he says we cant give you the price and it would be another $80 per month over the course of the loan. Needless to say I pulled my deposits for the two vehicles and took my business elsewhere. Mind you I work in a business where you make a mistake you own it, OConnor Chevy did not do that. Pointed out they couldnt give me the price and that was that. I get it people make mistakes, but I never mentioned anything about working for GM yet they gave me the discount and wouldnt honor a signed agreement. This would have been the second set of Chevys we bought from OConnor and I was talking with the sales person and saying how much I couldnt wait to buy a new Silverado Ev for my next truck. So by not honoring the deal they made for me they lost all future business of mine, anyone else I know in the area I tell them my story as a warning. OConnor Chevy does not stand by their word.
Bought a used vehicle which unknowingly had locking nuts on the wheels, no key was included in the car or provided. went to have them removed and had to pay for parts (and wanted to charge labor too!). i am absolutely floored by this and if you cant understand why i shouldnt have to pay extra money months later for something that is not my fault and could have been taken care of in 15 minutes before selling the vehicle, then it is plain you also dont understand the value of a long time family customer. for reference the cost of the service was around 50 bucks which is frankly insulting that this amount couldnt be waived, and it is equally insulting to charge 12 dollars a piece for a lug nut.
For 2 months I have been searching inside and outside of Rochester for a trailblazer and I keep hearing there already sold and thats very annoying when youre not trying to her that. So called OConnor chevrolet for the second time Brian answered the phone.I gave him specific details of what I wanted, low and behold in 10 days he had a brand new trailblazer with 3miles on it ready for me. Then it was time to talk money then along came Tom i call him smiling Tom🙂he was so helpful in helping me to get value for my money to top it off OConnor chevrolet Is the BEST. Nice advisor - not very well trained techs. The first time I brought my truck in with this problem they told me to wait until the weather improved. Weather improved - brought it in. The tech said he did not know what was wrong and said nothing they could do. Drove out - problem continues with the error message on the dash and this important safety function is still un-fixed.
They couldnt even find my car under the vin number to check if the paint touch-up on my car is available ........when they are the ones hounding me to trade my car in (when i purchased it from their dealership)...... Service department needs some work, now i have to drive all the way out tomorrow which WHO KNOWS if they even have the color in stock....
Excellent customer service. My car was a total loss in an accident and OConnor was the only dealership that could get into my desired vehicle. It hard to find a vehicle right now (December 2021) and everywhere I went said it would be four months minimum for the Tahoe I wanted. Rob got me into the exact vehicle I wanted within two weeks.
I actually had a issue with my Vehicle on my first day that I picked it up. I had to have it towed with less than 20 miles on it for misfiring and a blinking check engine. I was very upset at first but this is where a great family dealership can help soften the blow. Service manager jumped on it and the sales manager spoke with me from his home with his sick baby in his arms. He said he will make it right for me and it went from a horrifying situation to really getting to know what the dealership is all about and the family feel they give off! My salesman even test drove my Blazer after it was fixed too! Thank you I have already recommended Oconner Chevy to a few friends and family!
I had a horrible experience with Mindy. Very disappointed in the service this time. I did follow up with the General Manager and he was very understanding and apologetic. He was accommodating and listened to my experience and offered to help out. I am pleased with how everything turned out.
My experience with Brian Hartman was incredible. Very hands on from start to close. Walk me through every step and was very transparent with the whole process. He even kept in touch with me when we were waiting for the all clear. Very friendly, very patient and very understanding. I recommend him for all car buying needs
I had a great experience purchasing a used car (2012 Chevy Sonic, see picture) at OConnor with the help of Zach Blum. Very fair price, and they even let me trade in my old junker for a pretty generous amount. They didnt try to force any extras on me after I declined what was offered. Id definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a Chevy in the area. Zach rocks, and he can take quite a bit of hassling....
*MUST READ*I typically do not review businesses. Mainly because the business has to either be absolutely amazing or absolutely terrible for me to make a statement about them.I will be honest when it comes to large purchases, I am not an easy customer to deal with. The amount of detail/number of hoops (Austin Kelly my Sales Consultant/Justin Bailey Sales Manager) had to deal with/jump through to get my mom and I exactly what we wanted – they should frankly receive some sort of medal by the end of this. These gentlemen are the epitome of outstanding customer service. Not once did they get frustrated with my countless questions (and I mean countless), test driving multiple vehicles, mind changes, and the fact that I was getting quotes from other dealers. I eventually realized there was no point in talking to any other dealership because these guys deserve my business.These gentlemen went to extraordinary lengths to get me the vehicle I desired in a market where inventory is extremely low. Unfortunately, the particular vehicle I wanted was nowhere to be found in New York State. So, they expanded their search, worked diligently, and found the exact one. The best part is I never felt in the dark – Austin was in constant communication with me. I went there with my mom yesterday to pick up her new vehicle and we both left there feeling like we had just visited family. From the front to the back end everyone at O’Connor makes you feel like you are part of their family – It has truly been a unique experience. I mean…. don’t we all dread having to get a new vehicle? The owner should be proud of his/her team and I hope he or she reads this. Go see Austin Kelly and Justin Bailey – you will not be disappointed.I will end by sharing that I have been purchasing vehicles at another dealership in town for 10+ years. I don’t know what happened to their customer service, but I finally reached my breaking point. I am so glad I did because I am beyond happy with who I am giving my business to. Like I said earlier I shopped all over town. No one touched the level of service I experienced here. Not to mention the deal I got!

This is my third vehicle that I have leased with O’Connor Chevrolet. I have always had a great experience at this dealership. I just signed a lease for a 2021 Blazer and my Salesman Gene was absolutely amazing to work with. He got me the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted with no hassle. A few years ago my mom purchased an Equinox from this dealership for over $20,000. She paid with a check. Ever since purchasing, she has taken the vehicle back to them for certain repairs and paid with a check, even though I’ve told her they are WAY OVERPRICED. She remained loyal. This last time she went, 10/2021, again to get another rubber seal around her semi leaking sunroof. They quoted her $400 again, even though she just had it replaced a year or two prior. They picked her up from work when the work was complete, as usual. She went to pay by check. as she usually does. At that point, they told her they no longer accept checks. My mother doesn’t carry cash or cards and has always paid by check.She told them she could go get the cash but will need a ride. They refused to give her a ride to the nearest bank, wouldn’t allow her to take her vehicle and return and wouldn’t accept her check. She would have had to wait another hour before I could get to her. Eventually, another customer offered to pay her bill if my mom wrote the check out to her (the customer).Had they told my mother in advance, they no longer accept checks, she would have gotten cash the day before, before dropping off her vehicle. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They are shady, that’s why my husband stopped working for them years ago. They will take advantage and over charge you on the purchase of a vehicle as well as the repairs and service. They obviously don’t care about their customers and will not go out of their way to help. By the way, my mom’s banking institution was about a 5-10 minute drive straight down the street from them but about a 3-4 hour walk, one way. They could have taken her to the bank when they picked her up from work, which is in Irondequoit (about a 30 min drive from the dealership).Their customer service is HORRIBLE! Their prices for purchases and repair services are RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED and their communication and courteousness is nonexistent. I hate that my mom was left standing there for about 45 mins or more before calling me and before the other customer offered to help her. Awful service for such a high price.
Before I bought my SUV, I have asked many questions about the vehicle to buy in OConnor Chevrolet. The dealer was very honest, friendly, respectful. Hes answered all questions. This made me think about buying Traverse 2018. I love the vehicle so much. After about a month I began to notice that the side side mirrors werent matching with vehicles color. I want my vehicle to be a white in color, includes side mirrors. I love the design and all vehicles structure.
I was not expecting my first leasing experience to go so well or so smoothly. But Rob and the O’Connor Chevrolet team made it all a great experience. Other dealerships in the area cannot compete with the customer service I received. They helped me get every deal possible on my purchase and in a few short hours I drove away with my new vehicle. Our Salesperson was very easy to work with and understood the vehicle and options we needed. He found that the perfect vehicle was in transit and kept me posted on the delivery and coordinated test drives around my schedule. When we made the decision to purchase the transfer and trade in process was seamless as he and the finance office did all the heavy lifting and all I had to do was come in and sign paperwork. This is the second vehicle I have purchased and it was the same enjoyable experience 5 years ago.
I routinely bring my 2017 Equinox in for general maintenance to OConnor Chevrolet. They remind me of up coming service needs. They perform excellent service. They have friendly and helpful service advisors. The work is always done on a timely manner and I have never had any issues with any service provided. They also wash my car. Sometimes I can find valuable coupons located in the local penny saver. But their prices for my services are all very reasonable.
Rob has been working with me for several months to keep me informed on lease incentives that I would possibly be interested in. He called and left a message about a deal last week so I came in to check it out and ended up leasing another Chevy vehicle from OConnor. If Rob hadnt been in contact with me I probably wouldnt have leased another vehicle at this point. Also Rob was very easy to work with - straight forward, courteous and professional.
The entire staff at this dealership are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, down to earth, and hard working. For the last several years I have been shopping at OConner and I wouldnt consider another dealer in the area. If your looking for an easy and smooth transition into your next vehicle I highly recommend this dealership and their salesman Rob. My daughter broke down around August 22. I called around Rochester (4 hours away from my home.) To find a dealership to have it towed to. Most of the dealerships couldnt get to looking at it until sept. 18 or later. Including OConnor. So I was forced to go elsewhere. Two weeks later, diagnosis was ecm.My guy gets reman ecm. But had to send car to this shop for programming. They said a week... lie... took three weeks to hear chvrolet cant reprogram their own computers. Then two more weeks went bye. My daughter walked bye. Watching. That car never moved from its parked spot. I tried to get a loaner vehicle. Was told we have none. But they are out there. When I surprise showed up Tuesday, and griped. They got it fixed in the next 3 hours. Went to pay bill the next afternoon. 1998.00It included 2 ecm computers , one crankshaft sensor and 14 hours labor in 30 days time frame. At $140.00/ hour..... talk about robbery. Then the Tech has the nerve to tell me not to pay the other mechanic for his time... not very professional....
We are so glad that we decided to go with the Chevy. We had test driven the Ford Escape also. Our Salesman Alex Stone worked with us to make sure our experience was a great one. We look forward to the next 3 yrs and to referring Alex and OConnor Chevrolet to our friends.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX MY RADIO ? WHEN YOU START THE CAR THE RADIO SHOULD COME ON. WHEN IT DOESNT I HAVE TO PRESS THE RADIO BUTTON TO TURN IT ON AND VOLUME COMES ON AS HIGH AS IT CAN. I HAVE TO TURN IT DOWN AS FAST AS I CAN. THIS HAS HAPPEN EVER SINCE I LEASED THE CAR. GM TELLS ME WE DO NOT HOW TO FIX THIS.

I was in and out in 10 minutes with a new(used) Tacoma. Best experience I’ve had at a dealer. No pressure to buy some warranty. The salesman responded to any concern I had via text instantly. Everyone was very kind, even down to the title clerk. Highly recommend this dealer.

From the day I bought my Equinox to dropping it off yesterday for an oil change it was nothing but a wonderful experience. Very professional and worked in a very quick manor. I purchased this Dodge Charger not even 2 months ago and now most of the light on the dashboard are on (check engine,airbag,tire pressure) so I took my car in to get looked at and the guy I talked to said it was the after market starter messing everything thing up Well the funny thing is when I purchased the car it already had the remote starter on the key chain then he said “ohh” and still charged me 156 dollars and didn’t even help fix the problem I was told to go to dodge
Had OConnor do the rear brakes on 3/4. All fine except they ignored the parking brake of which is part of the rear brakes.I called on 3/5. They made an appointment for me on 3/8 at 9:00 am. Dropped the van off at 8:30 am.I never received a status call. I called a 3:00 pm and they just brought the vehicle in to the shop. I called back at 4:00 pm..almost closing time. They told me they could not do the repair until the next day.I had them take my van down and picked it up at closing, 5:00pm.Why was my appointment at 9:00am if they were going to look at it at the end of the day?Why wasnt the parking brake addressed while they had the brake assemblies off during the first repair?OConnor has been servicing my vans repairs up until now.I will be going to another GM dealer.
I stopped in at OConnor Chevrolet to check out a Chevy Traverse I saw online. I was met immediately in the parking lot by Chad Gaesser, one of the salespeople there. After checking the vehicle out, we went inside and talked about price and possible trade in. Chad was extremely friendly, personable and easy to deal with. We worked the numbers and the whole process was easy and fair, no pressure and never felt any need to walk. Chad was great throughout the whole transaction and enjoyable to talk to. This was probably one of the best car transactions I ever made and felt good when completing it. I have to say, Chad is a great asset at OConnor and treats you fantastic. Want to buy a car and enjoy it, go see Chad! Kudos
I went to OConnor to look at used vehicle. The vehicle was semi-fairly priced and was the kind of vehicle I was looking for. Unfortunately, the car ended up being out of my price range and I could therefore not complete the deal. My real issue with this car dealership is the incompetence of the employees. While the person that I worked with was nice, he was not very knowledgeable and did not have great answers for my questions. I had to wait to hear if I was approved for a loan until the next morning, and no one at the dealership ever called me to let me know my approval status. I called several times looking for an answer. I finally did get through, and I learned that they needed to completely alter the deal to fit with my finances and approval amount. I declined this new deal, and the employee told me that he would check to see if the price of the car could be reduced. I waited and waited to hear back about this, and again had to call several times to get an answer, only for it to be a no. Furthermore, the employee was fairly pushy and kept urging me to tell me parents to help me because the deal was such a great deal. After declining the offer again, I drove to the dealership to get a refund for my $200 deposit. When I arrived, I had to walk over to workers who were too busy on the computers to look in my direction. I explained that I was there for a refund, and a different employee very slowly did the paperwork for me to get a refund. I was then directed to the cashier who told me (not very nicely) that she was never taught how to do a refund. The employee told me that instead they would process the refund the next day and I would have the money back within 24 hours. I was not very confident in the dealerships abilities at this point, so I called the next afternoon to be sure that someone had actually processed my credit card for the refund. I had to call five different times to finally have an employee tell me that she would investigate what happened because every other person I spoke to or left a message for was either unavailable or had not heard anything about my refund, had never seen any paperwork and had no idea what I was talking about. Not only was this extremely frustrating, it was also very concerning because the paperwork that had been filled out and somehow had magically disappeared contained all of my credit card information, my full name and address. I was then promised a phone call from another worker for the following day that may have known what I was talking about. I finally heard from that worker this morning, who stated that she had processed my refund. I do not have the money back on my credit card yet. The customer service is just terrible, and it was a very stressful process to get a refund from this car dealership. I will never be returning, and I do not recommend this dealership for anyone who enjoys good customer service.
I have had only great experiences at O’Connor! I leased my first car from them, and I just leased my next! Shout out to Alex for going the extra mile to make sure I loved my new Trax...I do!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROME HERE!!!! sadly i can not give them zero stars. i purchased a vehicle threw them 2 years ago. with a life time drivetrain warranty it was a 2016 hyundai tucson. i gave sense put 30,000 miles on the vehicle. within the last few months the transmission started to go bad. whining at different rpm ranges shift points inaccurate hard shift from first to second so on and so forth. i brought the vehicle back to them with these complaints the service wrighter at that time told me i had a warranty on the vehicle but hyundai should diagnose it as it is a hyundai and not a GM. and that they have a factory 100.000 mile/10 year warranty threw hyundai. after speaking to hyundai because i bought the vehicle second hand threw GM that warranty is voided and only cover 5 years/60,000 miles (vehicle just rolled 65k). they said because i got it from GM they need to diag it. so i dropped it off at OConnor. of course they couldnt figure it out. once i went to pick the vehicle up the service wrighter tells me i dont have drivetrain for life that i only have engines for life. so if i (now bringing it back to hyundai) find out the transmission is bad it wont be covered. when explaining this situation the service wrighters response was thats above my pay grade followed by well i didnt sell you the car sure enough hyundai has just called me to tell me the transmission is bad (as i all ready knew) 3,000$ transmission job that i now have to pay out of pocket with a car i still owe 13K on and have put only 30K on since i purchased it. i called to speak to a manager at OConnor where they told me the same thing pretty much to go f*** myself (nicely) and open up my wallet because its not there problem. i wouldnt recommend ANYONE to buy a vehicle threw Oconnor. READ THE FINE PRINT! more then likely that life time warranty there selling you is a bunch of bulls***. customer service does not exist here. they could care less. best part is i took my mother to look at trucks yesterday (she wants a Colorado) told her she wasnt getting S*** from OConnor and we would go to a different GM dealer else where. 2 customers lost and i hope MANY more.
I came to O’Connor for my dream car and they delivered. The manager Steve, Tom in Finance, and Gene in sales were all nothing but nice and personable. I have nothing but positive things to say about my salesperson, Tom Griffith! He went above and beyond to find me the vehicle that I wanted at the price I could afford. Tom is very pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, and thorough. Aside from needing a new lease, my being a return customer to OConnor Chevrolet is largely due to Tom and the effort he puts forth in making a good deal without being a pushy salesperson. Was able to get my car in quicker than I expected from an on-line appointment. My service writer, Dave was extremely courteous when I came in. Even though I just needed an oil change, I had one other concern that needed attention. He saw to it that it was addressed and informed me what the issue was and was being resolved. Dave did a great job keeping me informed and getting me out in a timely fashion. Very satisfied with my experience.
Everyone at the dealership was friendly and didn’t try to push me into something I wasn’t interested in. Chris listened to what I was looking for and helped get me in the price range I needed to be in. He didn’t make me feel pressured to make a decision, and when I asked for a night to think it over, he didn’t try and talk me out of it. Overall a very pleasant experience
I bought my mom a 2012 Chevy Captiva from here in June for $12,000. It had 39k miles on it and came with a 60 day warranty. 63 days into owning it, it began to have electrical problems no longer covered. Some days it would start right up, some days it wouldnt, and then 35 seconds later start like nothing was ever wrong. The key would get stuck and we would have to jump it to release it. 4 months later unable to figure out what was wrong with it ,I brought it back to trade it in for a lease. They originally offered me $5800 on it, although said the problem was minor and just a dying battery. After great debate they offered $7300 for a trade. Thats a $5000 loss in a 4 month time frame. I would expect that from a dealership that hadnt sold me a lemon, but not from the place that had made a significant profit on it not even half of a year ago. The salesman I worked with was wonderful and tried to help me out and make it right the best he could, but unfortunately their used car people were not so helpful or remorseful. I understand this is a business, and they have to make money, but honesty and being trustworthy are 99% of the key to keep a customer. At the end of the day I would never buy a car from a place that just washes their hands of you once they get your money, and makes no attempts at a reasonable rectification.
Accommodated my schedule, finished the work very quickly (oil change and tire rotation), prompt shuttle service to and from. Plus, the shuttle driver, Frankie, and Dave, the service writer, were both very friendly. I know that their work might sometimes be difficult working with customers, but those two guys didnt let let that show for one minute. They are both the right people for the job, and they give OConnor Chevrolet a great personal face for your customers. Thanks for all that!

I went to OConnor for my first least which was a big decision.. salesman Zach Blum was a great help, making sure to leave no number unturned. Im not going to put details on this review but, this is by far the worst experience Ive ever had. All I have to say is keep track of what they do to your vehicle here every visit. Tried to get me for more than a grand on some things that didnt need to be fixed. When my husband asked about certain things, one service adviser said they probably didnt even look at it!! Omg seriously! How do you tell a customer that! Seems they try to get you after your car warranty expires. Especially me being a woman and not really knowing about these services. Gave them a 1 star because of the shuttle service. The guys who drive the shuttle are awesome! I was picked up & dropped off on time, every time! Unfortunately wont be coming back for services though.
It is now 2019.. Im still in complete AWE at the Excellent Customer Service at this location. I also overheard my coworkers talking about how great this place is. They provide the MOST EXCELLENT service I have ever experienced. They are very attentive.I purchased my car in September 2016. Ive also continued to take my vehicle here for regular service maintenance. They offer a free shuttle to work when I drop off my vehicle. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
I went in for my first oil change , waited for and hour and 30 minutes. Then I got to my truck and it had grease hand marks all over the hood. With a small less than fingerprint size chip in my hood. I was so annoyed and realized if I complained that I would be there even longer waiting for another appointment to fix the issue and then I would have to sit there at that appointment. So I will fix it myself. My truck was brand new and so was the SUV , I bought there . To bad your sales services can’t work the garage. For this reason I will never go back to buy a car at this branch and or have my oilChanged by this dealership. I think delta Sonic does it in about 25 minutes without me setting an appointment up
As someone whose owned a Chevy in the past, I was eager to get back into one. Theres no shortage of dealerships - but having a horrible experiences with Bob Johnson with both my previous Chevys (not the car themselves, the dealership), they were out of the question!!After visiting one early in the year, I was sure I was going to go with them until I walked into OConnor to see my options a few months later.I was greeted the minute I walked in with a Hi how are you today? Then as I am walking through the show room, several people walk up to me and the person I was with Are you being helped?, Is someone helping you? And not in a pushy, sale representative way, but a calm, welcoming, genuine way. The experience from then on was great!I would ABSOLUTELY recommend OConnor. I know every experience is different but give them a shot! I think youll be pleasantly surprised. :-)

I had a new sales person. He was great but seasoned sales people/managers did not help in thru the process. It made it LONG and difficult for both the sales person and myself. Managers should have help him through his first delivery. Both for his sake and mine. I was VERY frustrated in the length of the process. And mistakes that still need to be addressed
I wish I would have bought my car from this dealership. I got a flat tire only a few days after driving my newly purchased car. After getting a donut placed on the car, I drove to the dealer in hopes that my warranty would cover it. It wasnt a huge surprise when they told me the warranty did not cover my tire, but I was shocked at the $165 they wanted to charge me to replace it. I didnt have the money, so being the cheap person I am I declined the tire and set off on my donut in search of a more affordable option. As I was driving around looking for a new tire, my donut got a flat. I called roadside assistance which took 2 1/2 hours to get to me. When I finally reached OConnor they told me that they would not be able to replace my tire until the next day. I was tired, hungry and frustrated and was expected to be at my job in a few hours. In spite of the frustration but the service manager was so accommodating. He lent me a loner car so I could get to work FREE OF CHARGE, and found a tire nearly $50 less than what my own dealer wanted to charge me. These people were so caring to a non-customer. I definitely will be getting my service done here.
I just leased my second vehicle with O’Connor. The sales associate Alex made the experience so easy and I usually dislike the car sales/dealership experience. Not with Alex! I look forward to enjoying my new Blazer and when my lease is up I will be sure to reach out to Alex again. I am extremely pleased!!
My wife are very happy with our car buying experience. The car was better than advertised which is not always the case with used cars as we have been looking for a particular car for almost a year. I have over 22,000 Reward points and had to pay for a oil change and tire rotation? My truck is less than 1 year old , and when I bought it, I was told based on my points that I would get a few free oil changes? At the service counter they told me because my truck was a 2019 that I only get 1 free oil change ? I am not to happy with the mixed information.
My experience at oconnor was incredible! Everyone was welcoming and willing to listen to my needs. I worked with Craig and he was especially supportive. He sat with me and listened to my needs and wants along with my appropriate price range and made it work! I never felt pressured or rushed, he was patient and open-minded. We looked at a few vehicles and talked through my best options. I left feeling excited and appreciative, with a new vehicle!
I was ignored when I can Came in for about 30 min. I finally was approached by a nice young lady and she helped me with my purchase. They team work was horrible though. I picked up my car and it was dirty still and i had to wait two extra days to pick it up because they did not call my insurance company on Friday. They waited until the young lady that was working with me came back on Saturday to have her do it. I called before coming on Saturday and was hung up on I disturbed him with another customer. Then I was instructed to read the manual when I got home to help me figure out what the buttons jn the car were for. Again my sales lady was not available. I gave two stars because the young lady was awesome and I love my purchase. But the other customer service was horrible. I have to take my care here to be serviced because of the warranty. So I will be keeping an eye on them.
Austin was great to work with and got us the deal we were looking for. We were more than pleased with the service he provided.However, the employees at the dealership need some properly fitting face coverings and serious lessons in how to wear a mask. One employee had his mask on his chin for most of the time we were there, and the majority of them continually let their paper masks slip down over their noses. We were wearing NIOSH N95 masks, or I probably would have left. Not protecting customers is unforgivable. Millions of Americans have figured out how to follow public health guidelines and properly wear a mask that fits. Clearly this is not a priority at OConnor Chevrolet; I would recommend Austins services to anyone but not without the caveat that the organization as a whole does not prioritize the safety of its customers.

My car broke down and had no power. I had AAA tow it to OConnor Chevrolet because this is where Ive had work done in the past on my two Chevys. Even though they were very busy they got my car in. By the end of the day they called and said I had some metal break up in my Primary Converter and some got stuck in my Secondary Converter. Also my Engine light was on. Next day they called for me to pick it up. Runs great! It was covered under warranty. This is where I have my cars fixed. And where I will buy my next Chevy from. Thank you OConnor Chevrolet!

We had an outstanding experience with leasing our 2019 Silverado. Our salesperson Rob S. and sales manager Brian C. were great and worked very hard to provide a program that worked within our budget. There were no issues or problems with the entire experience. This was 5 stars all the way and I highly recommend OConnor Chevrolet.
I thought getting a new car would mean a lot of phone tag with the bank and insurance agency but O’Conner Chevrolet made it easy. They did everything for me. The sales associate and finance guy, Clay and Tom, we’re both very friendly and very helpful. They walked me through everything I needed to know about buying my car and explained anything I didn’t understand. In the end, they both made what I thought would have been one big headache easy.
From start to finish, leasing my new 2020 Equinox took less than 2 hours. I appreciate that Alex and Tom listened to what I was looking for, and did their best to deliver. I also like how they did not try to upsell me on bigger and better...unlike prior salesmen I have worked with.
My Wife and I had our inspections coming up so we brought in our cars to have them fixed and inspected. As expected, one car needed work due to check engine light. We didnt expect the second car to have multiple oil leaks. Neither of these cars were purchased from OConnor originally. We paid for the first cars repairs which came to about $650. We decided to wait on the second vehicle so that we could trade in and upgrade.My Wife went in and was told to work with ‘Gene’ (hopefully spelling the name right). He sat my Wife down, discussed options briefly, and left her alone at a table for over 40 minutes after telling her itd be 10 minutes. He proceeded to work with other clients. My Wife had to leave, so her trip to look at cars was wasted. I went in the next day, expecting it was probably circumstantial that her experience was so poor, I asked for Gene. Gene sat me down and told me to look at their website and left to help another client who had just walked in. I was really upset and went to the service center to see where the car was and if warranty work had been completed. When I got there at 530PM, the Service guy in charge of the paperwork for my car had left for the day. The other Service reps apparently couldnt tell me what was wrong with the car. I was ready to take the car home and fix it myself. Tim in the Service center who had been very professional over the course of 3 days I had been there, calmed me down and told me to ask for Brian in sales. Brian wasnt there and I got Chris Kist instead. Chris was great and thorough.We wound up with what we hope will be a great vehicle, first impressions and reviews indicate it will be good. The engine warranty O’Connor offers adds piece of mind but almost seems too good to be true. Time will tell. We wound up trading in both vehicles because I telework and don’t ever use my car anymore, and I feel like we got taken advantage of on trade-in value.KBB priced our trade in value for both cars in fair condition with mechanical issues and cosmetic damage at 4000 and 3500, we were offered 5400 for both combined and negotiated up to 5900. $1600 under a trade-in value that already is slightly low to leave room for the dealer to make a profit.During trade in, before it was official, we learned the oil leaks had been repaired on our vehicle despite us telling them to wait... so I wonder if we had a right to just leave with the car without paying for the repairs....Despite flaws in business practices, and one person with terrible customer service, overall experience was good-great. I mean, its hard to be mad when you have a new car right?!Lessons: Work with Tim in Service and Chris in Sales. Avoid Gene.
Clay Harris II was exceptional to work with. He was honest and upfront about the entire process. Really incredibly enjoyable to work with. Definitely made the whole process stress-free. I would recommend working with Clay to anybody looking to buy/lease a car from O’Connor Chevy.

Mike Salvatore is a great service guy. Always honest and the repair services have been fast, honest, and fairly priced. Surprising for a dealer. In fact I am calling Mike this morning to bring the car in for pothole damage!

Im downgrading my review. Originally it was a great experience but turned into not so great. I brought my husbands car in to get fixed and there was a recall on the wiper system so they fixed that while they had it. Once I picked it up the jet would no longer dispense fluid to the front window. ( An issue when you live here) I just wanted to bring it back so they could look at it originally but now Im upset. No Im sorry, no thats unusual just a bunch of questions like we had done something and then an appointment. I took it to a mechanic I trust and they had failed to reattach a hose. I will absolutely NEVER go back here. How can I trust the repair work when something that simple is ignored. Even better trying to make me feel like it was somehow my fault. Not cool.

Greatest experience ever with the service department. Bought my car out of state and OConnor has done all the work, including warranty work. I have moved all over the Rochester area and, even though other Chevy dealers may be closer, I always take my car to OConnor. I recommend anyone take the extra effort to pay this place a visit and give them a shot.Since the service was so great Ive been considering purchasing my next vehicle here.
I procrastinated and inventory got low. The team made adjustments and found a fit for me. Ended up being a better fit for my needs so I lucked out a bit. They could have just as easily told me to wait until inventory was able to be replenished but they looked at other options and put pieces in place to get a new truck in our driveway.
I walked into O’Connor Chevrolet in hopes of turning in a lease that still had some time left on it, I was unsure this was even a possibility but with very limited time in town I had my fingers crossed we could work something out. Alex immediately greeted us at the door asking how he could help. I explained my situation, gave him all the details, and told him I was interested in the Equinox. We had not talked budget initially and he came back with a number that was slightly too high for me. I expressed to him that it was out of my budget and he with no problem went back to his manager to see if there was any way to make it work within my budget. I don’t know what kind of magic they worked but Alex and his sales manager Steve were able to get me in the exact car I wanted (even the right color) for the perfect price. They both made the process unbelievably easy, and it was such a pleasure to work with them. If you’re in the market for a new car I would highly recommend anyone to Alex and Steve over at O’Connor Chevrolet!
COVID COVID COVID...OConnor convinced me I had to LEAVE my car in the morning, and they would shuttle me home and then pick me up when done, they shuttle me home, what happened after that - any way you slice it - it is wrong, wrong wrong. Their shuttle may be a courtesy, but to go one way and leave someone stuck? Had they told me , I would have made different choices.They CLAIM, because my sister, tested positive for COVID [after 2 vaccines] who i repeatedly stated I have not been physically around.people can not get COVID virtually, and if someone knows someone who has COVID, by knowing them [when not in physical contact] does not expose those not in physical presense to COVID,That said... it came to light because there was not end insight or indication WHEN they might get me my car [I mean days, not hours].. and i was upset if there is an emergency... I need my vehicle.If they want to CLAIM there is a risk of COVID, then if they were socially responsible and really believed that, then why are the still open and the same employees there? Why did they not close down, clean and have employee tested? Do they really believe it and do not care about the health and safety or their employees and customers? OR or was that a tactic to deflect from what they did wrong ?Given how they treated me, I would love to call the COVID police and have them shut down for COVID, it would feel like a small justice and a little balance for what they did wrong. Their wrong doing, had nothing to do with COVID and yet made it about that. wThe General Manager [GM] I a spoke to [S.D] told me he did NOT care, about what they did wrong it was in the past; and also made it about COVID. If they are so concerned why are they NOT quarantine ? I questioned for clarity he did not care. In fact, he said he thinks they were right [OMG - the person who created this mess [M.W] should definitely be in sales - well selling her co-workers snow - I am not convinced]If someone did you wrong and you had a way to get justice would you? I certainly would, [again would love to report exposure, (taste of their own medicine) if it were true] but I am not going to sink the the level of lies, slander and all that goes with it - I am responsible for me, I control me. I do not control them, but I certainly can write about it here and spread the word in so many different ways. People , I know, will not patronize their business, based on thisNo matter how much good is there, who wants to encounter the bad and deal with Super Drama [lies, being YELLED at (M.W). I mean yell, NOT calm, NOT respectful]??Word limit so summary ...in addition to not looking at car, when had to be there in the am. claimed did not get e-mail, created a mess, that as TOTALLY irrelevantThe words, accusations, lies, drama [worse than high school mean girls] made it about COVID. I was expecting the worst when the ABS, Stabilitrak, power steering, AWD and brake warning lights all lit up within a half hour. I was relieved to find all the issues were due to a problem with the wheel hub. the problem was resolved and the car has been running fine.
Recently I went to OConnor Chevy to purchase a vehicle and had an absolute wonderful experience. The staff was professional, polite and just all around awesome. My family and I personally dealt with Corynne. She was a superb saleswoman. She spent countless hours accommadating our needs with a vehicle. She spent long work days and even came in on her days off to find us the best deal. Furthermore, she was never pushy about the sale, everything was on our familys time and at our own pace. I cannot say enough great things about the experience she gave us. I recommended her to other friends and family members and I believe they would agree with the wonderful service she provided to everyone with their purchases.
The last time I visited your dealership I was definitely underwhelmed by the level of customer service I received. This visit definitely made up for that and then some. Not only was my car still under warranty, which I thought had expired, but I was extremely impressed by the customer service I received from the gentleman checking me in to the way the mechanic took care of all of my issues, including tightening my bumper which had come loose due to something I admitted to doing. The best part? I wasnt charged extra for that added service, which I truly appreciate. Thats the kind of WOW customer service thats missing in this day and age, and thats the kind of treatment that will keep me coming back to OConnor Chevrolet! Italo was my salesperson, and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took his time to get to know me and my familys needs, and I never felt any pressure to try and get a sale. The dealership practices social distancing and wearing of masks, which was extremely important to me because my wife has COPD. I had a great experience. Angel Webb was GREAT! He is the best dealership salesman Ive met. He did push any car on me base on the car. He actually took the time to get to know my family and our expenses. Im so happy that he approached me first. We had an awesome time yesterday with him! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. I will be referring my friends and family to him!
It was a terrible experience overall. I was in tears by the time I left, even though I did purchase the vehicle. If I could return my new car and get my old car back, I would. I never had such a terrible experience buying a car. I should have not purchased the vehicle but felt I had no choice. We agreed on a price and then after the insurance was organized and my credit check was complete (which was really good), the price was raised with no good reason or explanation. Just rude answers when questioned. I got a poor price on my trade-in, and no one discussed my options with me at the time. I also wanted a hitch and there was none in stock. I am not happy with the car or price I received and felt like things were changed last minute and I was forced into it because at that point, everyone was in place, it was late, and a 4 hour drive home. I will never go to this dealer again and I will think twice before buying from your company. I discussed my concerns with the dealership. They said they would call me to make things right and they never did. They dont care about their customers
It was such a pleasure working with Italo to get our car. He made the process extremely easy. He was always on top of our file and assisted quickly with any issues we had. Brian the sales manager who was not the used sales manager jumped in and stayed with us to make sure our numbers worked and gave us a good amount for our trade. Trevor in finance was awesome to work with as well and he even was able to get our interest lowered by 4% which we were EXTREMELEY happy. Thank you O’Connor!
Absolutely best customer service you can find. I travel to this dealership from over an hour away due to the relationship I have built with the sales manager Brian over the years. They do not play games or gimmicks, They will always treat you with respect and will steer your in the right direction, even if that means coming back at a different time because today’s deals aren’t good for you. I would STRONGLY recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone.
Experience couldnt have been any worse. There seems to be a huge lack of organization and communication internally. First, their trade offer was a couple thousand lower than 3 other local dealers. Then the documents needed to finance were collected by the sales associate. They didnt make it to the finance department and my loan was declined because they didnt include an income source. My credit was run about 6 times instead of once like most dealerships. After FINALLY getting financing nailed down, which was like a 2 day process, we went to pick up the vehicle. They had switched the Borrower and co-signer information on the loan docs. Now all my bank payment information is going to my co-signers address. They called for weeks after I bought my car requesting more information, copies of ids that they already had, ect. Now 4 months later Im getting calls because they sent title into the state without putting the lien holder on it and the bank is requesting it to be updated. According to OConnor Chevrolet I should have received this title. I have not. I am beyond frustrated and would NEVER purchase another vehicle from there. Their pricing us average as well as their inventory. Only reason we chose to go there was for a warranty. SAVE YOURSELF! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!
This dealership is my dream job. I wish I was working in the service department right now but couldn’t because of the two accidents on my record, and I’m under 22. I got an alignment done on my 2008 Impala earlier this week. I must say I’m impressed with the service here. Didn’t try to up sell me or anything. They noticed the problems in my car that I already know, way better than that garbage dealership across the street, Garber Acura (which they tried to rip me off of stuff I didn’t need, and damaged my exhaust). But here, they have nice people I just don’t recommend the complimentary car washes. I already washed my car the day before and when another guy washed my car, I think he did leave a few small scratches on my driver front door. That’s why I did 4 instead of 5 stars. But otherwise, great experience.
Emailed Alex a few weeks back to see if I could get out of my current lease a few months early and into a new vehicle. We went back and forth over my options and I stopped in on 5/17I test drove my two options and we talked about the differences in numbers. I made my choice and told him Id like to pick it up the next day. Stopped in today and he had the paperwork ready. We filled it out and I have a new Equinox.Alex is super knowledgable and personable. Hes easy to work with and Ill be reaching out to him at the end of my next lease.
10,000 routine service - oil and lube appointment. Also requested a technician drive my truck to see if they noticed any vibrations or shuttering with the torque converter and transmission after a 5000 mile replacement had been made. They said no problems were noticed. They also found a TCM update was available and did the upgrade for me. Friendly service people and nice waiting area with free Wi-Fi. Perfect experience.
Following moving back to the area in 2017 and feeling apprehensive about the car buying process. I now realize we have found a gem of a dealership in O’Connor. We just completed purchase of our second family vehicle from O’Connor. Alex and Tom are both extremely professional, gracious, very nice and top notch at what they do. They both took weight off of our shoulders during the process and set us up with two great vehicles. I look forward to a long standing relationship with OConnor and many more Chevrolet’s in our families future.

We worked with Tom Griffith and could not have asked for a better experience. We have purchased vehicles from him in the past and have never been disappointed. Even having said that, the last purchase for my daughters, I decided to go to another dealership. I just want to make sure there isn’t something out there I’m missing. All I can say is that I am very glad to say we have come back to Tom and will not try another salesperson again!!
I had a troubling situation- my car had been totaled in an accident and there was a lot of navigating with insurance and the bank, etc. Alex and the whole team were extremely helpful and now I am made whole. I highly recommend OConnor Chevrolets body shop. The estimate was lower than expected, the repairs were quicker than expected, and the car came back in excellent condition. Shawn was incredibly straightforward with me, which has rarely been the case in my experience with auto repair shops.

You guys are awesome! I been to another dealer Chevy dealer in Rochester...BJ Chevy and they have they have worst customer service. You guys really know how to treat your customers and do not try to make money off of us. I am definitely coming back to OConnor when my lease is up to get my next car. Hands down one of the best places to get a car if you live in Rochester. The staff was excellent and not only were they very attentive to try and find exactly what I wanted, but they also made the grueling process go by smoothly and much quicker than the last place I bought a car. Brian and Dakotah in particular had superior levels of customer service and basically did everything for me (besides me signing my name and writing my initials on the signing papers) Ive recommended OConnor to my family, friends, and also strongly urge everyone here to visit this place before going somewhere else.
I unexpectedly found that I needed major service for a Chevy Cruze and was anxious going to O’Connor as I havent had good experiences with dealers in the past. These guys blew me away with their courtesy and communication throughout the entire ordeal. John was knowledgeable, regularly updated me on progress, provided a loan vehicle, and facilitated a fast turnaround. The car even came back washed! I rarely write reviews, but this is stand out service. I highly recommend these guys.
I had to drop my car off so the technician had time to figure out the issue, which is difficult since I work full time and have 2 small children. But they made sure to offer their shuttle service, even though I did not have to use it, and they made sure to keep me updated with each step. Everyone was really nice and helpful.
I had an offer from another dealership for the same car but a less desirable color... Was told over the phone I HAD to come into the dealership but they could match the price. Offer was higher than what they told me over the phone! Not a good way to do business these days...

2022-02-02Not a big review-writer but here I am to give my honest opinion about this dealership, Ive never met more helpful and honest people. Ive bought two 1-ton trucks from them, a used Sprinter and also an equinox for my wife, and they have been amazingly helpful and easy to work with on each occasion. Today I purchased a truck from another dealer, but only because OConnor helped me find it when they couldnt come up with a truck that would fit my needs, in the time that I needed one. Thats customer service.. and these folks truly care. Will be back very soon!

2022-05-04I typically don’t write many reviews unless I feel the need to warn others about a bad experience, or in this case to give props were props are due. My purchase at O’Connor Chevrolet was probably one of the nicest, I worked with Austin and he was very personable and helpful. I have had other dealers that I’ve worked with and once the deal is signed you become less important and that was not the case with Austin and O’Connor Chevrolet. They helped make me feel just as important from the 1st phone call to the last (weeks after the purchase), following though with every detail. I do and would highly recommend this dealer to anyone, even outside the area (as I am). Thank you Austin for a great experience!!
