Western Beef Supermarket in other cities:
This place costomers and employees don’t follow the rules of COVID 19, no masks and products are always expired, you have to be careful, breads always with molds, I usually go every week for shopping, I stopped due to the insane of employees and managers, as a physician I was exposed to get sick on that place.
Great place to shop for local products and a wide variety of International spices and produce. The staff is great and helpful. The meat section is excellent with a wide variety of options, cuts and low prices. This place was a haven during the peak Covid times, they followed all protocols and even kept groceries stocked and sanitized. They even have a glacier water dispenser kiosk; my go to place for refillable water.Nice supermarket with fresh veggies, low priced meats and local brands.
Worst super market I have ever been to. It’s filthy. Everyone’s rude. The quality of meat is so bad every time we make cutlets we have to throw them away. I passed by the dairy walk-in and they let moldy cheese just sit there in the open on the shelves. I bought Parmesan cheese and within a few days was getting moldy. The salad bags are always out dated. How do you expect anyone to buy anything at your store if it’s all bad? Never coming here again. I don’t care how convenient it is. Everyone go elsewhere. “Low prices” are not worth it if everything in your store is filthy.
A fairly large market catering to more Latin tastes, and thats just fine. Huge selection of fruits and veggies, big refrigerated meat market featuring lower end cuts of beef, no prime here but overall good quality. But the best kept secret................THE best Fried Chicken in Nassau County at the Deli Counter! Crispy, delicious and huge pieces, wings, thighs and drum sticks only........all the best tasting parts. Get there early, its gone by lunch, reheats perfectly!
Bad service, not to mention scammers from the cashiers and the manager, the products have a different price on the shelves and when you go to checkout to pay, the cashiers charge you double, and when you confront them the manager tells you that they will give you a discount, one time I can accept it, but more than two times, please. In these critical times taking advantage of people, sorry but I will not buy here again.
Looks like good produce and fruits. The prices are typically very good but the problem is finding a cart or hand basket for your items and getting checked out. No matter what time of day, there is always a line at the checkout and often the cashier is more interested in their cell phone then the customer. The female manager, usually works evenings, never has a smile and typically seem very unhappy to be there.
Everytime I come here their produce never looks good and once I saw them cleaning their displays and the produce was stacked in dirty shopping carts. Also their quality of meats are not the greatest, everything always needs a cleaning before cooking. Their Bakery section is pretty good though.
Pricing knowledge is key to knowing what value you are getting so I dont get upset about all prices and I buy just whats a good value at all stores I shop. In general this is a basic Latin leaning supermarket with items that are not sold at a regular stop and shop stores. So this place fills an important area for me so I will always come here for those specific needs. One thing that really disappoints me is the Deli service. Horrible people with horrible attitude behind the counter. I wont bother them anymore for deli items. Being bilingual I often understand that speaking English maybe an issue for some workers in stores like Western Beef. But ignorance to basic English followed by rudeness is just a bad lazy person.
They have the glacier water gallon refill machine. That was my main purpose for trekking there it has a large parking lot and tons of shopping carts. Its clean inside and there is a lot of variety.the produce department looks great as well. The staff is professional and friendly. I like the cactus uniform tshirts
Shopping here is the absolute worst. Many products are past their experation dates. The produce is NOT fresh here. Don’t even bother buying anything from the deli department the salads have been sitting there for weeks and the tuna was looking crusty and old.Just recently they had a huge price increase on all products in the store. You will pay almost double what Stop & Shop charges. This took effect after January 1st after the minimum wage went up in New York. They were hoping customers wouldn’t notice. The attitude of the employees is horrible too and plain rude. Also watch how the prices ring up at the register, caught them overcharging me a few times. They charge $7.99 for a jar of Miracle Whip. Really? Look elsewhere to shop and don’t get RIPPED OFF here..
100% not all sales and pricing is equal. This Western Beef store is priced higher than than the WB in West Hempstead and Elmont. In addition, they dont seem to stock the same quantity or variety of products reflected in the other stores. Once I saw the pricing was slightly higher on some items. I recalled what a manager said to me, when I questioned this. He said, the store manager is at liberty to set the price for his area. So, if the customers, who live in the area, can afford to pay higher prices. Then, they charge accordingly and make the necessary adjustments with sale items. I understand. But, I walked out as fast as I went in. I decided to go to Shop Rite and, Costco down the street, it was worth the gas and savings. Shop Rite has better meats.
This supermarket is really rude. My grandma asked if this cashier was open which wasn’t a bad thing to say. Then this lady I think her name was Bella was talking about that in English because my grandma speaks Spanish. She said “why wouldn’t it be open I’m right here” to the other cashier. I don’t like this supermarket in my opinion. Rude service.
Save yourself from going into this trash dump. Always crowded after work and never enough cashiers. If you go on a Sunday its okay. They keep all their cold stuff in a massive refrigerator room, which is horrible to go shopping in because your freezing so you dont even want to shop and Im not even sure its kept cold enough to keep the food from spoiling. Its relatively clean inside but theres flies everywhere and then the local bums cashing in on the deposits outside and inside.Save yourself and go to a real super market.
Not bad, but then again Ive never visited a Western Beef before. Im not from around here. We dont have them in Massapequa. Just stop 4 a minute get orange juice. It appeared clean and in order, however I did notice the princes are definitely lower then where I live, but too far to come for groceries.
Easy to see right off of 2nd Street servicing Mineola and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Nice staff. Credit cards accepted. Great for large meat orders. I was able to purchase an entire pig here back in 1999. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back.
I bought rice came home had bugs in it. Called they offered to give me a new bag. Came home. Went to open and again more bugs. Never coming again. Spent the whole day calling to tell then and no anwsers the phone. Go to stop and shop or shoprite never had a problem there.
The produce was pretty sad when I visited (herbs were all wilty). The meat locker -- there are some deals on meat to be found if you buy in HUGE packs / family portions but otherwise not much cheaper than Trader Joes. I got their Italian bread and it was really... Not dense. Not sure how to describe it. Basically good for parties but not something I would buy for myself. Finally, I did find some good nonperishables-- $2 for a jar of Manzanilla olives. Their sale price for canned beans was the regular price for the beans at Trader Joes. I guess I would come back for convenience (bike ride away) but its not my preferred grocery store.
The shopping carts are disgustingly dirty, they never have more than four lines open and the lines are ridiculously so long that you cant even walk through the store, the staff is virtually nonexistent. They do not help nor do they know anything about what theyre selling and they dont seem to care if you have a question or if your needs are met. The only reason I go here is that its close to my home otherwise youre much better off a waldbaums or King Kullin.
I love this supermarket, the only complaints I have is first the prices are extremely high, specially the meat, also, some of the cashiers are the rudest people that I have ever seen, some of them they are occupy in their cells, talking bad about the customer specially when they speak only English and they are (cashiers ) Hispanic they make fun of them, also, you say thank you and they don’t even say anything, now they have the self checkout, I hope it work, be the girl that is there it watch you like a hawk, you ca not put your food in the bag after you scanned it, she has a terrible attitude, these cashiers need training in public relations, so they can learn how to treat people, they don’t understand that the only reason they have a job is because of us , the customers.
Worse place ever...i went to the deli section at 6:30pm and i was told i had to wait 20min, cause the guy was in his brake....there was nobody else to help...i talked with the store manager and he looked at me with a face like if he was lost or something....what a bunch of retards..thats why this store is so poor..
I recently moved to this town and visited this supermarket, realized that the shopping cart were absolutely dirty and in an unhealthy manner, I spoke to the manager about it and ignored me I will never go back to this supermarket neither will recommend to someone to go
That seems terrible to me that not even a paper bag is given, if you dont buy more than 100 they dont give you a recyclable bag and apart from that you pay for the bags, they throw away your purchases and they dont expect you to pack to already have another customers things on top, lousy

2021-09-02I love to visit this place whenever Im in town. The abundance of exotic, domestic fruits and vegetables are always crisp and fresh. The store is never out of stock, and whatever bake goods, pastry, spices, meats, and coffee your looking for. I guarantee its there.

2021-05-19This is basically like a supermarket with a meat locker in back. Prices are always a bit higher than I expect. Decent sales. Some ethnic items, mostly Hispanic. Good bakery section with Italian bread and rolls.

2022-02-14I just had a bad experience with the person at checkout #1, she was rude... not only with me but with the person who was in line before me. Could it be that these stores focus more on doing business than on treating their customers well?

2022-03-05I come here for the fresh breads. It tastes really good. Breads are baked on premise. Good price too.

2022-06-09A bit pricey. I was in a pinch so I had to stop here. Their prices to me were kind of high maybe because of where they are located but $5.00 for a bag of popcorn....way too much.

2022-01-10If I could give a less than 1 star rating, I would. If you want to possibly get Covid, then come to the Western Beef supermarket in Mineola. The workers and managers rarely wear masks. On Christmas Eve 2021, I went to Western Beef with my daughter to buy a few things and we purposely use the self-service checkout to avoid maskless cashiers. The machine we used was glitchy, so we needed assistance from a (maskless) manager. He proceeded to cough on us WITHOUT A MASK ON OR COVERING HIS MOUTH AT ALL. HE DIDNT EVEN MOVE HIS HEAD TO AVOID US. HE COUGHED RIGHT ON US!? Also, some of the prices are ridiculous. $8.99 for organic oatmeal when I can get it at Stop & Shop for $3.50? And you have to constantly check your receipts because they frequently mistakenly overcharge. I live close by so its conveniently located but theres no point in shopping there.

2021-11-15This supermarket always has what I need at a reasonable price. Their store brand items are also very good. I bought their hot sauce for $1.00 and change, and its some of the best hot sauce Ive ever had.
