Good size supermarket for things you need but be ready to be on the check out lines for hours. Management dont seem to care and the cashiers are on their cell phones. I was on the line for 20 min and it didnt move I left at exactly 30 min being on line and still hadnt move. I would had been there more than an hour if I would had stayed to pay for 2 items I had.
Great, perfer intelligent employees working there as well as less digital, better fung shway and seperation of chemicals from food products. Caps expand and compress based on various environmental factors. Less lights would be great and lights off after closing hours would be nice.
No cashier - manager dont care. Taking her time to assist shopper. If I didnt say something she wont called for a cashier. I waited over 29 minutes in express lines with Jennifer (manager) on cashing out shoppers. Over 20 people in line and no cashier on Saturdays morning. Thats a normal person customers.
Absolutely the worst. There is always a line, especially on the checkout with 10items or less. They usually only have 3 cashiers total when they have about 25 cash register lines. They dont even acknowledge youre there when they ring you up, I guess because theyre overworked and underpaid. I only shop here because theres nothing else around. Avoid this place of you can.
This store has came a long way and gets better I was there when it was horrible the staff is awesome and for the most part fast!!! Thanks to you all cause I live across the street and now we can walk in there with confidence my grandmother loves the store great job cashiers people will complain cause they always will but us here and the schools have been happy lately!!!!! I will be happier if the guys that’s the cabs stop hounding people
I’ve been shopping here since 6 months ago and it has been a big change since the new manager SAMMY has came he is so helpful and always smiling!!! He goes above and beyond to help us and he also keeps the flow going I’m glad the old manger left And he is there cause they almost lost me thanks so much for keeping the shelves stocked and the lines moving I gave this place 5 stars🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Im forced to go to this supermarket because its the only one close by, but if there were another supermarket close to me i would never step inside this unorganized and mismanaged establishment. It doesnt matter what day or time you go, the lines are always out of control!I have waited approx an hour on line for 4 items on an express line. This is a disgrace and a waste of everyones time. Not even if they were giving stuff for free would i wait on a line for this long and being a paying customer im forced to contend with this.if lets just say for some divine intervention they open another cashier line, its survival of the fittest and hope that you dont get hurt, cursed or killed getting there! Not to mention that every time I go therepeople are always arguing because the lines are so out of control that you dont know if you are standing in the right line! Cashier line 1 and 2 actually turns into one line because on one knows where it starts or ends!If this problem were resolved it wouldnt be so bad! This is my only compliant!Its not the employees, its management that has to re-evaluate this on going problem!
I recommend people to check the expiration date of yogurt that are sometime expired and should smell the chicken before to buy it. Mine and up in garbage 2 times. So I decided to never ever buy chicken from there since its a waste of money. That my experinces. However they are fast enough at th cashier
The least I can give is a star because I have no choice. I havent been here in more than a year because of the same reason I will not come back. Please go to food bazaar near this location. The lines are quicker. Give your money where its well deserved. Life is too short for you to waste it on a line.
I purchased a store brand pack of meat, (chicken) which smelled so badly that I had to toss it immediately. Thought this was a one time thing, so days later I decided to return and purchased a Perdue brand pack, which was even worse, it truly smelled spoiled. I checked the suggested sale date and they were up to date. Needless to say I am disappointed, disturbed and worried about the goods being sold.
I gave this western beef 5 stars because the last 5 times I have went there it was a great experience the cashiers was friendlier and the manager the lady with the light eyes always helpful she is always quick since the new managers been there I have been happier going to my local market the MEAT IS HORRIBLE IT SMELLS but the store is clean and the new manager his name is SAMMY he has been on point unlike the others before him thanks for making me wanna come back and keep u the AWESOME WORK!!!!!
Wow this western beef is nothing compare to the one on bruckner Blvd. The manager was busy eating and talking about how she hates the store. Shes glad she is leaving in front of customers who does that. I needed assistant and the cashier had to shout 5 times before she dragged her self to his direction. All in all her attitude was horrible . She shouldnt be working with people. Put her to stock shelves.
I never write reviews I just had to for this western beef since the new management have arrived the store has made a tremendous turn around I was so satisfied when I went back to the store the manager the front end and all the employees are very helpful and mindful of they customers I actually have a western beef closer to my house I will be going here from now on I appreciate u guys keep up the GREAT WORK AND SERVICE
Every manager currently working there (September 2017) is HORRIBLE. I went to get my daughthers wic and there was one with an orange shirt just talking on the phone the whole time and another one named Shantee which the guy at the register called over for assistance. She made him wait for really long and then another girl behind him calls for assistance like 7 minutes later and she goes to the girl first and the guy is left with no choice but to pass two people in front of me. When the manager Shantee ( I saw her name tag) goes to the other register first; mind you we called her a very long time ago and before the other girl did; the guy asks her what should I do with wic? and she says wait, hold on and goes some where else. Then when shes finally done she finally comes to the register and takes her sweet time scanning four half gallons of lactaid milk. Im just saying... work at a paced manner. Even if things are slow on a Tuesday afternoon at 5pm; theres no reason why you should be working that slow. Customers have things to do. And if one register calls you and then the next calls you, dont go to which ever one you want first. It is rude and inconsiderate.
Today i was there and while i pay for my food. This worker (dont know her name) . i guess she was on her break . Dark skin ,skinny , with afro style hair n wearing glasses. She was sitting on one of the nestle 5 gallon water (the one that u use for the water dispenser). Her legs was between the bottle neck. That disgutting, unhealthy unapropiate n unsanitary. If im one of those person that buy that water, believe me i will stop buying from u guys.And in top of that she was talking with the manager( the dark skin heavy one) and the manager didnt say nothing to her. THERE BETTER PLACE TO SIT DOWN
Warning to all those people that are winning/ buying poultry and/or fish from @westernbeef. After purchasing these items several time and getting spoiled meat I brought this situation to the managers attention, the manager assured me that this was a one-off situation. I challenged him to go to the fridge and check to see if other chicken was spoiled, which we quickly discovered that several other chicken were spoiled. Just to make sure that I was not accusing them wrongfully I went back several other times after that event and bought other chicken and had the same situation happen.... #Unacceptable #shameful #poeplecoulddie

I went today with my friend she bought some clams,I almost die after I eat them they give me some bad reaction I got cold starting sweating chaking and I have nausea I think they dont have a person that knows in the seafood dept that knows if some of those clams are fresh or old I was thinking to go to hospital and sue the supermarket.
If youre in a hurry to get your groceries done and over with within a reasonable time, this supermarket is not for you. I have never seen, a place with such poor customer service. They are absolutely SLOW. They get me aggravated with their lack of opened check outs and their constant, override, bill check, manual requests from employees to floor manager. The place is clean. Items are quite expensive compared to other supermarkets in the area. However, the selection of items is vast. Inside theres a little fish market, a deli department, which I must say, has greatly improved in the past months, thankfully after they disposed of a few rude and lazy employees. They have a store bakery area, which offer customers a great variety of freshly baked goods, such as muffins, breads and pies. They also sell BBQ chicken and cold salads. I would recommend ONLY if you have time to waste! Located near buses Bx5 and Bx27.
Be careful, check your invoices, they will give you less than 10 pesos, do not check, but when I went to pay the taxi driver who took me to the house I was missing 10 pesos, I am called and they tell me to return to the supermarket for them to find out it was my mistake not to check correctly but I trusted the cashiers of the supermarket but no, Im going back more taxi to go there and the weather is strong even though I live nearby but walking too cold Wester Eef Rosedale wont come back anymore. Best cashier in the clineja if you ask me for 10 pesos, I give it to you but dont steal from the customers.

2022-04-13I bought this salami yesterday at the Western Beef, and when I opened it this afternoon I found mold on it. It’s absolutely disgusting, they need to follow FDA guidelines to ensure customer safety. This is unacceptable.

2022-04-26My wife and I have been shopping here for some time. Lately weve been noticing items on shelf that have already expired. Examples are a can of soda crackers dated 2021. Mayonnaise dated 7/4/2021. Bread dated a year ago. I am highly disappointed that management has not been diligent in inspection of their outdated inventory. Perhaps a visit from the DOH and FDA are in order. To the consumer reading this PLEASE CHECK THE DATES ON ALL THE PRODUCTS YOU ARE BUYING! If Western Beef management is not going to responsible for addressing this issue then you have already lost this customer.

2021-09-18Been going there for years back when the manager was Izzy love it then grandmother used to love shopping there before she passed nice people especially the deli and also did me department Western beef has the best fresh meat a little pricey but for the fact that it doesnt come covered in pneumonia and its usually fresh its perfect nice for all Western beef in the Bronx and when I go I usually have no problem talking to the people in the meat department because some of them do speak English however if you are rude to them they will pretend as if they dont speak English and I dont blame them for that be respectful and be treated with respect this is a great place and establishment it gives a sense of walking into the family butcher or Mom and Pop grocery store everyone is helpful ask and you will be helped but be respectful

2021-10-01This place is always selling rotten fruits and also expired items I tried to go back to give them the benefit of the doubt but once again putting my groceries away I noticed the juice looked funny sure enough i check the date and of course the juice expired from now on i will continue to go to ShopRite at least they dont sell expired merchandise and the place is better organized

2018-11-01This Supermarket has a variety of things to buy including a fish & meat section with variety. Their Deli section is good too. They only have 1 person working when 2 would be much better. My Major Problem with this supermarket is at the cashier. You can have a supermarket full of customers & only 2-3 cashiers open & 5 stations closed. They have 2 cashiers that are express saying 10 items or less and the other 15 items or less. More than likely one of these cashiers are open & you have customers in the store with a lot more than 10 items. It causes customers to be fed up & get on express lines with a cart full of items! They wont open up the cashier lines unless a few customers start to make a ruckus because of aggravation. If Western Beef on Rosedale would get that problem fixed with the cashier lines, it would be a pleasant place to shop..

2020-04-10I was disturbed to see how laxed the supermarket operated during this time of crisis (Corona Virus). They were not monitoring the number of people entering and/or observing social distancing. Management should have had staff helping to maintain order in this regard to protect shoppers and staff alike from contracting and/or spreading the virus. They need to do better, not simply have markings on the floor for shoppers to see.

2019-08-19Its ok but the problem is, they should hire more cashiers. Its always only two lanes open when there are more than 7 lanes. Also please teach your staffs how to talk to people, they shouldnt be using profanity even around customers because not only is that very disrespectful but also completely unprofessional.
