Big thank you to the courteous and knowledgeable woman who helped me out today, first I called in to ask about a brand of food my cat adores called Acana and she informed me that they were out but that they had their sister brand Orijen, so I went to the shop to pick it up, and found so much more!! Biodegradable poop bags, calming treats, and she introduced me to a new brand of cat food I have never heard of but has amazing quality ingredients from New Zealand called Maori ( I believe the name is changing soon though) and the prices were so reasonable for the canned food I snapped up three to try for my cat.The lady helping me was super helpful and we had a great chat, she was also very sweet and loving to my cat who was in her cat backpack and had started growling (because shes a cat!), you can tell she truly loves animals!I want to point out that they have well stocked isles, plenty of options but everything here is healthy! Well sourced, no additives and fillers and junk, youre going to find healthy options for your pet, cat or dog or bird or rabbit. They have toys, clothes, leashes and harnesses, and grooming products too. They are also holding a raffle to help homeless pet shelters this Halloween and thanksgiving! This place was miles above any other pet store in this neighborhood, maybe in all the city! They also have a points program for regular clients - so do sign up! Big thank you Whiskers!

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I bought some cat food and had a problem with it, no fault of theirs, and they gladly and happily made it right. They spent time educating and helping me find a better product.

This place is AMAZING!!!! Chris is the best help you could ask for, with all the knowledge! They have incredible food, great prices, and we not to mention they had Radiohead, the XX, the Beatles, and Beck on while we shopped :) best pet store ever!

2020-09-15OK so apparently Google did not update our store hours on their Google Maps page. Our 1800whiskers.com website does have our correct current store hours which are Mon-Fri. 12-7:00pm NOT 8:00PM, Sat. 11-7pm and Sun. 12-6:00pm. thank you! also there are some reviews regarding buying animals at Whiskers Holistic Petcare. Please note: Whiskers does not sell animals nor do we do grooming. Im not sure where these reviews are coming from but they are fake news for sure.

2020-08-21The website states the Astoria store closes at 8pm. I arrived at 6:52pm today. The reason I know the exact time is because the woman at the register immediately told me as I entered the store that I had only 8 minutes to shop before her register “automatically” closes at 7pm. I shopped really quickly, but the woman kept looking at me, as if to say, hurry up. It was so uncomfortable that I put my items back and left the store. First, their website needs to be updated to say this location closes at 7pm. Secondly, this woman needs to be trained to have better customer service skills. I refuse to spend my money in any establishment that can’t have these basic needs met. Rather shop locally, but I’ll be shopping online tonight. On a positive note, the store is always clean and organized.

2020-10-01I love their Pet ID tags there are a lot of designs to choose from and also materials. I ordered and it arrived pretty quickly the quality of the tag is amazing. I highly recommend it.

2019-07-15Whiskers is the finest pet shop in Astoria by leaps and bounds. The staff is great, the selection is fantastic, and I live that they lean towards natural and holistic products. I feel safer shopping here. They alsi deliver if youre purchasing a heavy item. Its a good neighborhood business to support.

2014-12-29We purchase all of our pet food and pet supplies here! The staff is the kindest, and remembers your name and what you purchase. Even when I occasionally call for deliveries they remember who I am. That type of service cannot be taught. Not to mention they offer only holistic and healthy products. I feel very lucky to live so close to such an exceptional pet shop!

2019-02-20Nice staff, who take the time to get to know you and your pets. If they dont have it, they will order it. They also offer delivery throughout the area. You can even adopt a cat here. Great place. Parking is usually available nearby
