Pretty cool wedding venue. I recently attended a friends wedding here and I liked the place. Everyone seemed pretty nice here and it was very clean(You’d be surprised that its not that common). The food was great and the bartenders were very good at their job. Plenty of parking right in front of the front door also(to the right). All in all I enjoyed myself at Whitby Castle the only thing I did not like is that you had to check your own coat and tag it yourself.
Nothing but class, professionalism and a willingness to make your day feel special - that is what we feel about the venue and staff of the Whitby Castle.From day one they took it upon themselves to meet the needs and wishes of two soon to be newlyweds. We had both the ceremony and reception at the Whitby Castle.First, they worked with our guest size and budget. Whitby Castle is a place for medium to large weddings however they were easily able to accommodate a wedding of 65 people (more on the small-medium side). The area never felt too big or small and the venue was able to use cocktail tables and other tricks of the trade to fill in the reception and ceremony.Secondly, they were able to work with our desired menu. Adding and subtracting from their standard menu- they added Golden Crusted Chicken Schnitzel just for us!!! Which was absolutely delicious! I am Austrian (born and bred) and even I was impressed! They also added a sundae ice cream bar along with a beautiful cake! Which was really good!!!Thirdly, the staff was AMAZING! Nice and cordial. The coordinator I was able to work with was Ralph, he was very nice and EFFICIENT! Which we absolutely love, no nonsense and straight to the point, providing advice and guidance when needed as well as suggestions where I didnt even know I needed to make a decision (he mustve been doing this for years!) We never felt pushed or coerced into anything but simply guided and helped. Truly appreciated. My wifes bridal attendant was Katie and she was always very helpful and knew exactly how to assist. She was able to help with the bustle and with the decorations. My wife wishes to send a special thank you to both Ralph and Katie, she feels like you two went above and beyond and she really appreciated it. The rest of the staff was also very supportive and cheerful. Excellent service. Absolutely no complaints. None.I would like to mention that I really appreciated the before ceremony snacks and beers in the grooms suite. Helped take off the edge :)And lastly do we even need to mention its a CASTLE! Talk about fairytale wedding ;-) the outside was exquisite and the inside was very well kept and just perfect (see pictures). We just loved it. Everything.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I wish I could provide more stars but from dealing with the unfriendly person at the castle, to having a poor set up for the event making it difficult for anyone to see the tvs and the walk in makes it difficult to do that. The food was eh so Id steer clear of spanish style foods. Ralph however was amazing on the evening of the event and this is a beautiful place.
My husband and I got married on July 29, 2021 at The Whitby Castle and it was perfect! Ralph and Niki were fantastic and made sure the night was amazing. Ralph is such a pro at what he does. He made sure that things ran smoothly and there was never a moment where I felt like I needed to do something myself, everything was already done, even before I had to ask. Our guests are still raving over the night, a week later. I would absolutely pick The Whitby Castle if you are looking for a place that is completely organized and wants to make your night perfect!

From the beginning stages of booking this venue for our wedding, our experience with Whitby Castle was excellent. We had to reschedule due to COVID, but they were so accommodating with re-booking us and even switching us from a Sunday night to a Saturday night wedding. Our guests had a great time, and so did we. Niki and Ralph helped us make our menu as vegan and gluten-free as possible, which we truly appreciated. They gave us so many great options and the food was fantastic! On the wedding day, Ralph was always there to see that everything went smoothly and help us with whatever we needed. Our bridal attendant, Rosa, also went above and beyond for us. When one of our guests had to urgently leave to catch a train, Ralph was there to help and Rosa literally drove her to the train station! We couldnt believe how generous they were. All of the staff were professional, friendly, and followed safety procedures like wearing masks and gloves at all times. We highly recommend Whitby Castle. You couldnt ask for a more beautiful venue or a more accommodating staff.
We could not have had a better experience for our wedding at Whitby Castle. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make sure our day was beautiful. Everyone at Whitby was sensitive and supportive in helping us take COVID precautions. We couldnt have had a better experience. Were incredibly thankful and will never forget the wonderful service we had on our wedding. And by the way — the venue is gorgeous and the food is good.
I had my wedding there on 03/27/21. In the middle of a global pandemic, The Whitby still made all my dreams come true. The venue itself is GORGEOUS. The food is absolutely amazing. All of my guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue is & they couldnt stop talking about how good the food is! If you want a fairytale wedding, book The Whitby Castle.
It truly is a castle when you pull up. Workers did a great job. Food was excellent.
The minute we drove up to the Castle, we knew that this was our venue. The scenery and setting are gorgeous, the food (and theres so much of it!) is spectacular, and the people are friendly and helpful. Leading up to the wedding day, Courtney and then Ralph were always available to answer questions and make our planning easier. Then, on the wedding day, all that planning paid off and everything was just perfect. Ralph was amazing - making sure we kept close enough to schedule and that nothing was missed (and keeping our anxious mothers sane!). Just seeing him around calmed our nerves because we knew he was on it! The rest of the staff was just amazing - we cant say enough about how attentive and friendly everyone was. And our guests are still raving about the food and how gorgeous the venue was. If you are trying to decide on a venue, rest assured that you cannot go wrong with Whitby Castle! They really do take care of everything - including you - so you can relax and enjoy your special!
Whitby Castle was just amazing! We couldnt have been happier with our wedding there this past December. We were impressed with the staff and venue (it is absolutely gorgeous and well kept) from our very first visit last March. Ralph and his team were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process and they executed everything perfectly the day of. I couldn’t believe how smoothly everything went! Our decorations were displayed exactly as asked, the food was delicious, and the flow of the evening was managed perfectly. We are still hearing from guests about how wonderful it was, and several have said it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to! One guest even recommended it to her recently engaged son. I would happily recommend Whitby Castle to others!
My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at Whitby Castle. The venue itself is truly magical and the castle was the perfect setting for photos. Both Ralph and Janet were fabulous to work with. They quickly answered emails, returned phone calls and were willing to fulfill every request. On the day of our wedding, everything was executed flawlessly. The ballroom looked stunning and all of our signage, candles and favors were set up perfectly. Because we were taking photos, we missed part of our cocktail hour. Ralph was thoughtful enough to personally bring us some of the food we missed during cocktail hour. The staff truly went above and beyond in every way and exceeded our expectations. Our guests raved about everything from the excellent service, the beauty of the castle, to the delicious food. Thank you to the staff of Whitby Castle for allowing our dream wedding to become a reality.
We got married at Whitby Castle in November of 2018. The castle and the grounds are amazing. Thru the whole process the staff was wonderful. From the day we booked until the wedding was over they worked to make sure everything was perfect. We used a lot of our own vendors and they were very accommodating and helpful. The food was amazing and the bar service was applauded. And for every problem that came up. And for every last minute change, there was Ralph. He took everything we wanted to do and helped turn it into a wedding. Then he was there to make sure we stayed on schedule and to do all of it. Thank you to all of the staff who helped make this such a special and memorable event.
Our wedding reception at Whitby Castle was absolutely perfect thanks to Linda, Ralph, and the entire staff at Whitby Castle. We booked our date over a year in advance, and it was a very easy and enjoyable process planning all of the details. We worked with Linda through much of the planning process, and she was always very quick to reply to my emails and very helpful. They were able to accommodate all of our requests, and everything down to the last detail was everything we hoped for and more. The cocktail hour out on the deck was so beautiful. The food was amazing, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Ralph kept everything running smoothly from start to finish, and was such a pleasure to work with. All of the different details/decorations I had brought in were set up exactly as I had envisioned. Ralph, Jasmine (my bridal attendant), and all of the staff went above and beyond to make everything perfect and were so organized. Several of our guests mentioned how friendly and professional Ralph and the staff members were. Thank you Whitby Castle for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. There is not a single thing we would change, I can not recommend them enough!!!
We are absolutely thrilled with how everything went for our wedding at the Whitby Castle this past July. Ralph and the staff went above and beyond with everything for the day. They were incredibly helpful throughout the planning process leading up to the wedding and helped to make changes to the menu and schedule of the day to suit our needs. Best day of our lives! I got married at Whitby Castle on 10/26/19 and had about 190 guests. Ralph the Maitre D along with Captain Will and my bridal attendant Rose were amazing. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious! All of our guests raved about the cocktail hour and entree selections. If you are looking to have your wedding at a not so typical banquet hall, great food, with beautiful views and a rustic vibe - Whitby Castle is the spot. Not to mention my photos on their spiral staircase and outside of the castle are to die for!
My new husband and I had our wedding reception at the Whitby Castle on August 18th - and it was nothing short of perfect! All of our guests continue to comment on how amazing the food was, how beautiful the castle/grounds were, and what a great time they had! Ralph was beyond wonderful to work with - anything that we asked for was taken care of immediately. We, along with our entire wedding party, showed up a little earlier than expected and still we were welcomed immediately into the chapel room and bridal suite and catered to with food and drinks. My husband and I would fully recommend this venue to anyone - its probably the best decision that we made in our entire wedding planning process! Thank you so much to Ralph and his crew!
My wife and I were married here on April 30, 2016, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff was attentive and thoughtful, and Ralph did an excellent job making sure that everything ran smoothly. Linda was a great help with the planning and preparation.The food was terrific, and drew rave reviews from my guests. The transitions from the ceremony in front of the castle, to the cocktail hour on the patio, to the dinner in the ballroom, were seamless.The view from in front of the castle for a wedding is one that simply cannot be beat, and the staffs overall performance really makes the experience a special one.
From the moment I looked up this venue, my wife and I fell in love with its beauty! Since the very beginning, Ralph and his team were ON POINT with everything!! He welcomed and treated us like royalty! He was excellent in meeting our needs and in re-arranging our itinerary to make the night flow perfectly. All of our guests are still ranting and raving about how the night was so perfect and how the services provided was excellent! For any bride that wants to feel like a princess with her own castle, I highly recommend this location. Also the food was delicious!!
My husband and I got married at Whitby Castle this past weekend and all we can say is RALPH IS THE BEST. From the first meeting with Ralph to our wedding day he made sure everything ran smoothly and that we were taken care of. Everyone told us we wouldnt eat at our own wedding but Ralph went out of his way to make sure we had a moment to eat in between everything. The whole staff was extremely accommodating from beginning to end we didnt hear a single bad remark. The venue was set up beautifully and it was almost like the staff was one step ahead of us the entire time making sure every aspect of the night was perfect. We cant even count the number of guests who told us how beautiful the venue was. You will not regret having your wedding at Whitby, Ralph and the entire staff are the best of the best. Thank you!!
My wife and I could not have picked a better place to host our day! The staff, especially Nicki and Ralph, made sure every aspect of our event was perfect. They were extremely responsive to all of our inquiries and concerns, and they ensured that we had the best possible experience for our wedding. Everyone was attentive to our needs on the day and kept us on schedule. Guests are still coming back to tell us two weeks later that it was the best wedding they ever attended.
I wish I could give this place 50 Stars. We had my daughters wedding there this past Sunday. Beginning with Ralph and right down the line, the staff were terrific. The food was delicious, it was a brunch wedding and I was nervous about feeding everyone. There were 162 people at the wedding and it was a buffet style serving. They did an amazing job and everyone got served in a timely fashion. I could not recommend a place more highly. Also, the setting is beautiful. It is on the grounds of Rye Country Club over looking LI Sound. The only minuscule draw back to the day was the fact that the weather was lousy, so there were no outdoor possibilites. Small nothing.
AMAZING! We had our wedding reception here on October 15, 2016 and it was absolutely perfect! We booked with Linda (who has since left, but was phenomenal) back in April 2015. From the moment we drove on to the property we knew that this is where we would have our reception. To be honest, I was a little fearful after Linda left because it took us a long time to get in touch with someone, but as soon as I got in touch with Ralph I was put at ease. We started working with Ralph about three months out and made sure that sure that he and I were on the same page about things that I had previously discussed with Linda. Ralph was great with getting back to me via email and all of our appointments went smooth. The day of the wedding went as planned and everyone had a blast! Ralph and the staff were great and made sure that everyone had what they needed and had a great time. Even my MC said that working with Ralph was a pleasure. Our bridal attendant, Katie was also great and she made sure that all of my needs were met. She was a pleasure to have around. Our cocktail hour was held outside on the back deck on a beautiful Fall evening with a full moon. Heating lamps were set up in some areas to help with the Fall chill. The ballroom was beautiful and the food exquisite. Our guests are still talking about it and saying that it was truly the best wedding they ever attended. We even got asked if we could do it again and we would totally do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone at Whitby Castle for making our dreams come true and for executing all of the ideas and details that I envisioned for our perfect day.
My husband and I got married at Whitby Castle on 10/21/18 and perfect isnt even a strong enough word to describe it!Ralph made sure that every detail was exactly as we requested, the staff was friendly and always smiling, the food was incredible, the drinks were strong and atmosphere was ideal!The weather was a little cold, but they stayed with our outdoor plan and I cannot thank them enough for all the set-up and hiding me before my reveal to my future husband.Our guests have not stopped raving about the views and venue, and I would recommend Whitby Castle to anyone that wants a one-of-a-kind wedding experience!
My husband and I looked at many venues within a month time span, and Whitby Castle was by far the most beautiful, unique and worth every penny! We planned our wedding long distance since we don’t like in NY, and they were extremely accommodating. For example, for our tasting we asked if we can come in July 4 and without hesitation they were flexible enough to say yes! Courtney was amazing and listened to our feedback when adjusting some of the food items. Planning with them was easy and they always responded within 24 hours of my emails no matter how big or small the question was. On the day of our wedding, we were blown away with the service they provided. Ralph, our contact and Maitre D, was phenomenal. He was so patient and kind. He kept the day moving smoothly, even when we started late. Rosa our bridal attendant was awesome! She showed me pictures of how she set things up (because I didn’t provided examples beforehand, which was my fault) and was open to feedback! I loved that she spoke Spanish and was able to communicate with my family. My family gave me lots of compliments on the wait staff for them being attentive and timely with food and drinks to the tables. Everything turned out beautiful and liked on dreamed about. This place is highly recommended
We had our wedding in June, and are so happy we picked The Whitby Castle as our venue. It was the perfect setting for our special day. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly accommodating, and really made my wife feel like a bride! My wifes attendant, Rosa, and our maître-d, Ralph, were absolute superstars. They came through quickly on every request we made that day. The bridal suite was the perfect size and the natural lighting made for great photos. Everyone loved the castle backdrop for our ceremony. The castle, lawn and willow tree provided the perfect setting our ceremony and photos. We did a first look under the willow tree. The ceremony went off without a hitch, being coordinated perfectly by the staff. The cocktail hour was perfect - Whitby brought my wife and I and our bridal party plates from the cocktail hour. All of the food was incredible and Whitby gives you a ton of cocktail hour pass out and station options to choose from. We brought in a specialty third party vendor for the cocktail hour and they gave him a great set up on the patio. The reception was well coordinated by the staff as well, the speeches and serving the food. The dinner was delicious, everyone complimented their meals as we went around. Whitby provides you will various options for the main course. We opted for salmon, stuffed chicken and filet mignon and it was all very good with generous portions. We brought home a plate of each and we enjoyed all of them after the wedding. The cake was also delicious and beautifully presented. The room was set perfectly and the tables arranged exactly as requested. They worked well with all of our vendors throughout the day so my wife and I had nothing to worry about regarding the venue or set up. Also- shout out to Courtney for facilitating EVERYTHING and always being quick to respond to our questions/concerns. Bonus, the location was easily accessible to all of our guests being near I-95. Overall, we had a great experience working with Whitby Castle and fabulous memories of a wedding day without worry! I would highly recommend having your wedding day or any other special event at Whitby Castle.
Our wedding at Whitby was EXACTLY what we envisioned for our special day! From the beginning, the team was professional, courteous, personable and just a pleasure to work with. Ralph, Niki, Courtney, Will, Tom (who was one of the awesome bartenders!!), Megan our bridal attendant and the entire staff at the Castle, made my husband and I feel like we were a part of their Whitby family. It was so nice to not have to worry about managing our event and actually enjoy it with our family and friends, because the team took care of everything for us the day of.Furthermore, the food was just as spectacular as the service. From the insane cocktail hour to the sit down dinner (the chateaubriand you can literally cut with a fork it is so tender), all of our guests havent stopped raving about how delicious the food was.Thank you all again for everything- we will never forget how wonderful you made us feel!!
We had our wedding on 7/20/19 and it was really the best day ever.PROS: -Ralph was very detailed oriented and ran the show seamlessly. We had a 20+ bridal party and he managed to keep everyone in line and organized from start to finish. - Food was to die for - since our wedding we have gotten a lot of feedback about how remarkable the food was, everyone says it felt like 5 star restaurant food rather than wedding food - You get a lot for your money, we were narrowed down to three venues, Whitby was about 10$ more a person, however it was worth it. The cocktail hour and what is included is like an entire meal in addition to the meal. - Service is amazing, every staff member is knowledgable on what to do, they are respectful and timely - Timing - our entire wedding 200+ people were all served within a 25 minute period, majority were served within 15 minutes. They can whip up seriously good food within short amount of time - Ceremony option - inside/outside up to the last minute. We ended up having the hottest day of the summer 100+ degrees and we ended up moving the ceremony inside. It was well air conditioned and everyone was comfortable. This was ultimately our biggest deciding factor, so many venues their rain plan included a tent rental and it is not something we were looking to do. Thank goodness we had Whitbys indoor option available, guests were very thankful. And the inside is just as pretty as the outside -You receive a bridal attendant who sets up all your decor and makes sure you have drinks/food the whole night. Rosa was a rockstar! - Planning - they are very organized with the planning and money leading up to the big day. They reached out to check in and assure that we were following the timeline. They were also great at answering my five million questions throughout the year leading up to the day.CONS - They were unable to provide a head table option without additional funds. They only provide round tables and a sweetheart table option. You would think as a major wedding venue, a head table with 4 rectangle tables connected wouldnt be a big deal. And it wasnt they happily accommodated it but we had to pay for it. For the amount you pay for the Whitby that should be included. It wasnt that much more money but still felt like they should have covered that. Hopefully it will be something they add for future brides. - Service charge - while the other two venues we considered did have a 20% service charge, it was their tip. As it was getting close to the end and of course you want everything to go right, spending every darn penny on little things... then you have to figure out tip for 15+ people. They really should work the gratuity into the contract like the other castle venues we looked at.Overall, cant say enough positives. The space if truly one of a kind. There are so many different settings that your guests get to experience. The cocktail hour is really unique on their wrap around porch and overlooks the golf course and water. Everyone says you dont eat on your wedding night, well we left there very full. We had a blast and the entire night went so smooth. Thank you Whitby for a wonderful evening.
Got married here on 8/11/17 - could not have asked for a better night. The venue was beautiful and the food was great, but best of all was the staff. Ralph and his crew are awesome, and they helped make everything better than we could have expected. Our guests had a great time, and we had the times of our lives. Highly recommend this place!!
We held our wedding reception this past weekend (June 10th) at Whitby Castle and can say this venue threw us a party nothing short of spectacular. From signing our initial contract almost a year and a half ago to food/cake tasting to our final meeting the week of the wedding, the staff at this venue were so attentive, responsive and organized. We mainly communicated with the maitre d, Ralph, who assured us that the day would run smoothly- and everything went off without a hitch! The ballroom is beautiful with its large windows overlooking the golf course, uniquely shaped room and dark wood floors and the outdoor deck for the cocktail hour is setup beautifully for guests to enjoy on a nice day. Part of the cocktail hour space is enclosed with a tent, which was a nice feature for guests who wanted to stay out of the sun. Ralph was amazing to work with, especially the week and day of the wedding. He personally called all of my vendors to confirm delivery times of the reception flowers as well as determine an appropriate time for the DJ to setup to ensure that the room would be clean/ready in time for vendor arrival. Ralph and his team worked extremely closely with our DJ and photographers to make sure that each vendors timeline for the day did not overlap with each other. I was provided a bridal assistant, Jasmine, who was so attentive and at my side for the entire evening, whether it was to re-fill a drink or to fluff my dress. The food was outstanding. We received numerous complements on the abundance and tastiness of the cocktail hour and reception food as well as the synchronized dinner service for the main course from our guests- hats off to the chef and staff! If you want a venue where the staff truly take care of you, your guests and vendors, look no further! After months of planning, it was a relief to be able to enjoy our reception and not have to worry about a thing! To Ralph and the staff at Whitby, Bill and I cant thank you enough for making our wedding spectacular.
There are no words to describe how amazing our wedding was at Whitby Castle this past August. Ralph (the maitred) and his staff when above and beyond to make our day so special. They helped make planning our reception stress free and fun. All of our family and friends loved the food, scenery, and music (we used their house DJ). They are still talking about how awesome our wedding was at Whitby. We totally recommend Whitby Castle for your special day. We cannot wait to go back every summer for their Lobster dinner.
Where do I begin?? From the moment we stepped foot into the castle we were welcomed with kindness and excellent customer service. Whitby was the first venue that we looked at before booking our wedding, and we only looked at two other venues before going straight back to the castle to leave our deposit and book our wedding date. Besides stating the obvious that the castle and the grounds are beautiful, the staff at Whitby Castle is what makes the venue so wonderful. The first person that we worked with was Courtney- she took her time showing us the grounds and the venue and spent quite some time talking over details with us, and determining what we wanted our wedding day/night to be like. She never made me feel like I was just a number, always made me feel comfortable asking as many questions as necessary, and made me feel confident that all of our wedding wants and needs were going to be met. The next person that we were introduced to was Will. Will not only makes a great cocktail, but he greeted us with a kind smile and was eager to please every time we stepped foot in the castle. The night of the wedding he was behind the scenes (and at the forefront of everything) making sure guests were accommodated, drinks and food were flowing, and really went above and beyond to see that my husband and I were happy and comfortable the entire day/night. He is an excellent asset to the Whitby staff!! Rosa was behind the scenes of my wedding day making sure that the bridal suite was stocked with drinks and snacks, and she helped to set up all of my personal decor in the entrance of the castle. At the end of the night she packed all of my belongings up for me, and she was a huge help- also very kind and easy to work with! Now last and certainly not least, we were introduced to Ralph. Ralph was awesome!! He was organized, straight to the point, and very matter of fact with us. He was the guy who put everything together for us right before the big day. He sat down with us and talked out all the details, gave us a timeline of the day and night, and really set our expectations high for the wedding. He was very easy to communicate with and promptly responded. He completely exceeded our expectations, and the day of the wedding he helped to keep us on track, and really made it possible for us to have every detail of the wedding that we wanted, happen. I cant say enough nice things about all of the staff at Whitby. They really are an excellent team, and I would highly recommend this venue to any special event, especially a wedding. ALSO, the food is EXCELLENT!!!!!! Our guests are still talking about our cocktail hour and all of the delicious options. My husband and I missed the cocktail hour and hardly got to eat during the wedding, and the staff put together 4 containers of food to-go for us, without even asking...... I really am beyond pleased with my experience at Whitby. Thank you all!!!!! I wish I could relive our wedding day there 100 more times!
We cannot say enough about Ralph, Courtney, and the entire Whitby Castle team. From beginning to end, our day could not have been any better thanks to the entire team. We had 8 guests drop out less than a week before the wedding and Ralph was able to accommodate an additional reception enhancement, no questions asked. This was completely unexpected as we thought we were going to have to eat that cost. Our guests are still talking about the food, service, and ambience and its a HUGE thanks to Ralph and the entire team that made this day so special. He even pre-sliced our first piece of wedding cake so we didnt have anything to worry about during the big cake cutting moment - now THAT is attention to detail!
We got married at Whitby Castle on June 18th and it was truly a dream wedding. The whole day was perfect! The beautiful bridal and groom suites were so great to have and made our getting ready experience so wonderful. We didnt have to worry about a thing, as the incredible staff made sure we were taken care of with food, drinks, and had everything under control with perfect timing. The ceremony was breathtaking! Walking out from the willow tree as my grand entrance, along with our bridal party, was absolutely magical. The staff directed everything with ease and paid attention to every detail. Our reception was so great. Aside from the gorgeous venue, we really cant say enough about the staff members. In particular, Ralph and Will were amazing!!! Every single staff member was wonderful, and they worked closely with us that day to ensure we were happy and taken care of every single step of the way. We really could not be more impressed with this venue and the staff. It was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more!!! We cant wait to return for dinner and reminisce about our magical day. THANK YOU to everyone at Whitby for making our wedding a dream come true.
I got married at Whitby Castle on October 8th, 2016, and there aren’t enough words to express how amazing the Whitby Castle team was. Ralph, in particular was exceptional throughout the whole process; he was instrumental in helping make my wedding the best day of my life. He went above and beyond with every aspect of my special day to make sure that my family was happy. With every request small or large, he made it happen. It really was a fairy tale of a wedding and Ralph and his team made sure we were happy, comfortable, and having a fantastic time. On the day of, the service was outstanding; they all made sure everyone was having the time of their lives. Our family is still raving about the food, from the cocktail hour, to the dessert, everything was perfect. I never had a worry, from beginning to end. Only wish was that I had more time to spend at the Castle; we didn’t want the night to end because they made sure it was magical not just for me but for my entire family and guests. I can write for hours on how amazing my wedding was because of the Whitby Castle team. The Castle is gorgeous itself, but Ralph and team made sure all my dreams came true.
My husband and I were married here in December 2019.There were so many reasons I was drawn to Whitby Castle - In a sea of cookie cutter Westchester waterside venues and halls with printed carpets and tacky chandeliers, it has a classic, elegant, and unique aesthetic. I had also heard from friends who had attended weddings here that the food was excellent, and I loved the fact that the entire venue was ours during our event. It is located beyond a long driveway on beautifully manicured grounds overlooking the Rye Golf Course.Whitby Castle, and especially Ralph - delivered. The weddings here are run like a well-oiled machine. Several guests mentioned that the filet mignon with bourbon glaze was the best wedding meal they had ever experienced. Portions were BIG. My husband and I made sure we actually got to eat our dinner, so we knew what our guests were tasting! Cocktail hour food and flow was also met with rave reviews by our guests. The main rooms floor plan IS something you dont see often - with the dance floor located adjacent to the seating rather than in the center - but we found this to be an asset. The main bar location on the side of the dance floor gave a reason for our guests to get out of their seats and dance, and our older guests were seated away from the loud speakers, but with views of the action. Due to the holiday season, wreaths and white lights were already outside and 5 white-lit Christmas trees were in the reception room, and these added a magnificent glow and complimented our seasonal theme.A few extremely minor cautionary notes: They allowed a certain level of customization (we brought in our own chargers, napkins, photo drop backdrop, bourbon bar, created signature cocktails) but they will not set up everything for you (i.e. the photo booth that was free standing and needed to be plugged in, connected to wifi), so we hired a day-of-coordinator to do the heavy lifting with setting things up - and breaking them down (all of your personal items must be out THAT night, so it was an important hire for us.) Also, because we had a day-of-coordinator, my bridal attendant paid me no attention and did not get me a drink the entire night - I think they just assumed my DOC would be doing this, but she was busy with other things. The dark hardwood floor (which I will admit was a selling point for me, as I despise gaudy carpeting and found this to be preferable) could use a tiny bit of sprucing up.OVERALL THOUGH: 5 STARS, Your wedding at Whitby is in excellent hands with Ralph and this venue and food are far and away better than most Ive experienced in the Westchester/Rockland area. Big shoutout to our captain for the night, WILL! We loved these guys & thank you for making our wedding spectacular.
Incredible! Whitby Castle is truly a gorgeous and special venue, but what is aesthetics without the incredible staff that brings Whitby its true charm. Our journey with Whitby Castle began last year and we were always met with impeccable customer service that truly made you feel as if you were their only bride and groom. Ralph was truly amazing and I cant speak highly enough about him and his staff. I had zero worries because the staff made me feel like they had everything under control and they really went above and beyond leading up to our wedding day. On the day of our wedding, I could not believe how seamlessly they coordinated the decor, the ceremony, the reception, and the clean-up! Our guests could not stop talking about the Whitby staff for about a month - honorable mentions were Ralph (our Wedding Coordinator and MaitreD), Brandon (our Captain), and Kate (my Bridal Attendant). Courtney was amazing and I wish she had been the maître d for our wedding. She was organized, prompt, and accommodating. Then, we met Ralph, who was condescending, rude, and no where to be found for pretty much the duration of wedding. I had typed out very clear instructions, templates, and directions for every detail of our wedding, of which very little were even followed. The only detail Ralph seemed to be concerned about was stopping my husband for his tip, as he stood there and watched us carry out boxes to our car. Instead of asking to help, he stuck out his hand and said, “No gratuity?” Beautiful venue and amazing sales representative, wish I could say the same about their maitre d.
My brother had his wedding here and it was amazing! Everyone had so much fun, the staff was awesome and the food....SO GOOD. I had their salmon dish and it was cooked perfectly. Any bride would feel like an absolute queen here!!!

I attended a bridal shower here and the saff was very friendly and helpful! The castle itself is cozier than it looks and very inviting. The views on the outside, inside, and the surrounding areas are pleasing and I would recommend this place to anyone. The food was great as well! They served a combination of breakfast and lunch options. Parking was easy and plentiful and the restroom were clean and spacious.
Very nice and pleasant place to host a wedding. Very vintage looking, and lots of history. The ballroom is very good size with lots of windows and outdoor views. Great place to host a wedding, with excellent service and food as well. The outdoor is a fantastic place to capture all those once in a lifetime moments.
As Easter Sunday was my first time at the castle. I found it to be beautiful inside and out. We went to brunch there at there last seating which was at 2:30.We found that they did not have a lot of selections to choose from and there no desserts were left.When we asked about the dessertsthe waiter did come back with 4 pieces of the same pie which we did not want.As we all knew that this was the end of there brunch time it would of been nice to have a little bit more selection out for the people that were still there enjoying there meal and who wanted dessert.Afterwards we did go outside to enjoy the beautiful view of the golf course and lake.
We had our June 2nd wedding here and Whitby Castle was the second venue we looked at and the second we walked in we knew it was it! When we first booked it was with a different operations manager, so when the manager changed I did get a little nervous but Janet and Ralph answered any and ALL questions I had. They were willing to make anything we wanted happen, and they accommodated not only my husband and I but our wedding guests as well. Ralph was unbelieveable the day of - he truly knows what hes doing to execute the perfect wedding. The food, service and staff was perfect and we couldnt have asked for a better wedding day. Thank you Ralph, Janet and the Whitby Castle staff for everything!
Our daughters threw us a surprise 30th Anniversary party on Saturday night, November 10, 2018 and I have to say it probably one of the most amazing parties we have ever been too! The place is absolutely beautiful, the food delicious and the staff was amazing. Thank you for being so great to my girls in the planning of this. We will definitely be back!
I had my bridal shower here because I just had to have a castle. The food was good the place was nice. They had an ant problem there were ants on the coffee cups and desserts. Service sucked no one went around to the tables and asked if anyone needs anything. The food was not getting replenished until a guest had to tell them. 1 server asked me if I needed A drink once. Also they only give you 3 hours it’s not enough time to open gifts. They also hit you over the head for all kinds of taxes and fees. The price says $45 for the bunch on line but it ends up being $70-80 a person with tax and tip. My guests said the bathrooms were never cleaned from the party the night before. If you don’t care about any of that You should deff book this place! It was a beautiful place.
The main room is quite attractive. Very bright with lots of natural light and very interesting architecture. The entryway and side rooms are not quite as attractive. The main room has a beautiful Vista over the golf course and down to the river. Seeing it in the peak Autumn foliage is quite stunning! That is, if you dont mind a couple of sand traps close to the building and in the view of some of your photos. The groundskeeping and Landscaping in front of the castle is subtle and very attractive.
Attended a wedding recently at this absolutely gorgeous facility. The wedding was outdoors and beautiful. The meals were lovely and the service absolutely excellent. The couple could not have been happier and the guest delighted.
Whitby Castle was absolutely incredible as our wedding venue!! My husband and I chose there because we wanted something unique - and a castle was just that. After reading great reviews about the food and service, we decided to go ahead and book it. I am so so glad we did - it was just phenomenal. Ralph - our maitred - was seriously amazing. He was so attentive and accommodating. He worked with us during planning - helped us switch out a few things we didnt want (the slider station) for some extras we did want (the drunken sundae dessert station). He also helped us out when we had only a 125 head count (we invited 190 and needed to guarantee 150) by absorbing the cost of linen rentals, giving us extra food packed up, and more. He really went above and beyond for us. In addition to that, on the day of the wedding, he really hustled and worked so hard to ensure everything was to our liking.Anything at all we needed, we would just tell any member of the staff (they all had ear pieces to communicate easily, which was a really great and organized system), and Ralph came to us immediately and took care or whatever we asked for. He was really a fantastic maitred. Additionally, the overall service at Whitby really exceeded our expectations. Not only did we notice that the staff was very efficient and friendly, but so many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the service. I cantt comment on the bridal attendant because unfortunately she had a minor accident and sprained her ankle on the stairs, but honestly with Ralph and the staff, we really didnt even feel like we were missing out on any service. One example of the great attention to detail we noticed was the presentation of the entrees - servers would surround each table at a time and would all place the plates in front of our guests in a synchronized fashion - which was visually impressive as well as a really nice touch.Finally, now that I have sung the praises of the castle itself, Ralph, and the service, I will talk about the food. The food was absolutely beyond incredible. At our tasting, we enjoyed the food, but the chef must have really stepped up their game on our wedding day because everything was delicious. My husband and I have very high standards when it comes to food and often eat in fine restaurants. When we tasted the food at our wedding, we were thrilled. We didnt get to taste every single thing at the cocktail hour, but everything we did try was fantastic and many of our family members and guests raved about the cocktail hour as well. Our entree choices were the seared duck breast, Chateaubriand with Port wine sauce, and herb roasted salmon. We opted for mashed potatoes and haricort vert as the accompaniments. We had a plate of all three at our sweetheart table, and the flavors were great. Everything was cooked to perfection, and as we walked around to all of our guests tables we noticed that this was consistent for all of the plates. We had multiple people tell us that the food was the best they have ever had at any wedding and that it was delicious and they couldnt get enough. This was truly a wonderful thing to hear. My maid of honor told me that even though she orders Chateaubriand and every single wedding she goes to, this was the best she ever tasted. Also, the wedding cake was off the charts. We chose vanilla cake with salted caramel filling, and it was out of this world. All in all, Whitby Castle gave us a PHENOMENAL wedding!!!
Went to a wedding here; it was classy without much stuffiness at all. Cocktail hour food was so-so, Dinner food was very very good. It was a fairly large wedding; I would say the place was almost at capacity (around 200 peeps perhaps)
What can I say that has not already been said about the Castle. My husband and I got married there on Oct. 28, 2016 and it was everything I wanted in the wedding and more. Ralph was the most amazing person ever; he listened to every weird question I had and made that night perfect by working with me. The moment the ceremony started to the last song played was made perfect by the staff there. Every one of my guests were very impressed by the beauty of the Castle plus the service they received while attending the wedding. So, to help others, we tried to make our reviews as details as possible. For the “Too Long Didn’t Read” crowd – everything at Whitby was amazing, classy, and 5 stars. We couldn’t be more thankful to Sean and Ralph for their unwavering commitment to seeing and executing on our vision!Planning: Throughout our 3 (yes, 3) years of planning our wedding, Sean and the rest of the Whitby coordinators were incredible. Everyone was flexible, accommodating, and eager to understand just what we wanted in a wedding reception. They were exceptionally willing to (and did…) tailor any aspect of our reception, from the menu to timeline to logistical formatting. If there’s something you want, but don’t see in their standard packages, ask. Chances are, Whitby staff will work with you to help make your dream come true!Execution: Understanding the vision is one thing – executing on it is another. Again, Whitby knocked it out of the park! While sitting at the dais, it was incredible to see how plates were served, with each guest at a table receiving their meals simultaneously. It seemed that every time we turned around, Ralph or one of his minions was there to offer a helping hand and a smile. Every detail was executed flawlessly, and our guests had the time of their lives thanks to Whitby staff.Food: The food at Whitby is beyond words. During our tasting, Ralph, Chef, and the kitchen worked closely with us to devise the perfect menu. Unique to Whitby is their on-site kitchen – no cooking your food at some centralized location and shipping it in. For us, this meant guests got their food fresh, to order, and exactly how they wanted it. People are still raving about the cocktail hour and seared duck breast!
Venue was great, their wedding was beautiful. Staff was helpful. Downstairs bathroom is a pain because of all the stairs.You should also know that if you have open bar until say 10, they stop serving 5-10 minutes before that. Bartenders will actually walk out from behind the bar and ignore the people. Clarify that this wont happen at your event. Worth getting it in writing.
Could not be more please with our decision to hold our Nov 2018 Sunday wedding reception at Whitby Castle. Many thanks to Courtney for helping us get squared aware over the months leading up to our event and answering our many questions - making us completely at ease before our big day. From the brochures, questionnaires, and food tasting, everything went incredibly smooth.Ralph (our evenings man of affairs) help us through a pre-planning conference call, which tactfully laid out the battle rhythm for the nights festivities, which we were able to clearly relay to our DJ & photographer.Our guests RAVED about the food - for WEEKS after our wedding. Despite of bit of snow a few days before and being a bit chilly outside, the wrap around enclosed patio was warmly filled with people and kerosene heaters. Definitely recommend maximizing all of the action station appetizers & platter food. (Hors Doeuvres: Lobster Bisque Shooters, crab cake w/ aioli, chicken satay, pumpkin ravioli, salmon tartare, blackened shrimped, bacon wrapped scallops; Action Stations: Penne pasta w/ pancetta & vodka sauce; rigatoni Bolognese, roast beef, roast turkey; Romaine Pear & watercress salad; Mains: chicken w/ madeira sauce, duck breast w/ orange sauce, angus shell steak w/ port wine reduction; Cake: Devil food cake - nutella buttercream - white flowers anew). Open bar also included with the standard package. Thankful that everything was included under one straightforward price and that Whitby was able to handle everything for us.Ralph kept everyone in check all night - everything was right on time and he ensure the bridge & groom were taking care of AND HAD A GREAT TIME!
Besides teeing it up for 18 at the Rye Country Golf, there are not many things Id rather be doing than saying a few words about the Whitby Castle. If you and your loved one are looking for a wedding venue, look no further. This is will put all your anxiety to rest when searching for the perfect venue.First a few words about the space itself. It is a castle. This is the real life Super Mario, Princess Peach scenario. While most of us grooms are arguing about whether the Mets or Giants will win the wild card, or what dumpster to get food out of, our beautiful wives have been planning for their wedding day since they were kids. I could not have been less picky when looking for our wedding location, but when we stepped foot onto the grounds of the Whitby Castle, we BOTH knew this is where we wanted to have our lifelong wedding memories. . The building itself is breathtaking. From the grounds surrounding it to the regalness of the inside, it is stunning.Ralph, the maitred is the person you want pulling you up by rope if you find yourself dangling over a cliff. He treated us with the upmost respect and graciousness. I have never seen such accommodating customer service, anywhere. He not only stepped up to the plate with delivering on everything he said he would, he sat back on a 3-2 curveball, and hit a walk off homer. He truly is a man of his word and made our special day that much better.His staff, particularly a young lady named Katie, who was unbelieveable at her job, were outstanding. They truly exhibited the 3 Es I live by: Efficiency, Empathy, Enthusiasm. The attention to detail was unfathomable.Our cocktail hour was above and beyond what was advertised. We had a party of about 160 friends and family, and all were satisfied with just this part of our wedding. The food was delicious, well portioned and the drinks were flowing. I had to check my pulse after having the baby lamb chops, they were outstanding. The views outside were breathtaking, we lucked out and it was a beautiful evening.The dinner options were incredible, with the waitstaff being the friendliest, most efficient I have ever seen. As the groom I did not have time to sit and enjoy as much as I had liked to, but they made sure my glass and belly were always full.I truly recommend you stop looking at other wedding venues and chose the Whitby Castle. Wedding venue shopping is very stressful, do yourself a favor and stop here. Your special day will be taken to the next level thanks to Ralph, his staff, and the Whitby Castle.
Terrible!!!!!!!!! We were married here 10 years ago, and had the most elegant and unbelievably beautiful wedding where the servers were professional and respectful. So for our 10th anniversary we thought we should have our special anniversary dinner here. When making the reservation, my husband had mentioned that it was a very special occasion dinner. When we arrived, and waited a few minutes to be greeted, we were escorted to an outside table. Bare bones service ensued. The food was a step below Applebees. The server looked confused when we ordered items directly off the menu, stating wow, that steak must be new! She never checked in to see if we were enjoying our food, as I was picking hair out of my green beans. After we waited in a very empty patio dining section, there was no offer to look at desserts or coffee. I am completely heartbroken I wasted my anniversary dinner on this place.
My husband and I had an absolutely incredible wedding at Whitby. I also want to thank courtney who helped in working with our guests who has dietary restrictions. We had an unbelievable time and everything went so smoothly thanks to the exceptional staff. Bartender in the hour before the wedding was overwhelmed and downright rude. He dressed like a slob. When asked if they could make a Bahamas Mama 🤣 (I like girly drinks),He said no then pointed to my husband and said What can I getcha? Instead of naming a few beers he told him to name one because they will probably have it. Yeah... Right. So my husband asked for a Michelob Ultra which they did not have. Not having it wasnt a big deal but having to play a guessing game along with his attitude put us in a mood before the wedding even started. Wait staff were pleasant but it seemed that they were a little short staffed. The trays for the dirty dishes were either full or missing entirely so people were setting their used and dirty plates on the same tables along with the food. GROSS! The good itself was fair as Ive had better and Ive had worse. The lines for the bathrooms that was something else entirely.
Absolutely beautiful! This venue was everything you could dream for! We are a photobooth company and were vendors for a wedding here. The food was amazingggg! We are constantly eating at venues and we can definitely validate how great it was. Really beautiful venue. This was one of the prettiest venues we have been in, we love castles!!
We had our wedding there in April 2017 and we couldnt have been happier in our venue selection.The entire staff there was very attentive, accommodating and enthusiastic. The grounds and ballroom are beautiful.
Went for Thanksgiving Buffet. Lovely setting, food plentiful though not delicious, but service was dismal! Horribly understaffed. Took forever to get drinks, or waitstaffs attention, lots of people were grumbling. Too bad. Not going back.
Went for a Santa meet and brunch. The location was amazing, a very beautiful castle and well maintained landscape. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely return for and event there
LInda And Ralph was absolutly wounderful to work with. We had our wedding there on November 1st 2015, they made it absolutly a perfect day form the Ceremony on the front lawn to the reception. Every single one of my guest said it was the best wedding they been to. Food was great and service was excellent! Great setting and OK food and drink selection but some employees need to improve attitude with customers. I am thinking about that lady who took our order then gave us only 10 minutes to enjoy our drinks outside on a sunny day.
As an event/wedding planner for MP Vanity Events, I am always looking for the latest and greatest. Withby Castle is by far a mix of old and new! Owned by parent company Lessings the tradition continues. Great food, great staff, one of the best management team any venue can offer! Ralph is by far very attentive and very knowledgeable. So if you are looking for the WHOLE package look no further, The Withby has it all!

Tried to have Sunday Brunch here and view the event space... stood in the lobby for 20 minutes without seeing a single member of the staff. Called a bunch of times from within their own lobby, no answer. Bizarre. Clearly lackluster management. Will dine and book event elsewhere.

2022-06-14I loved everything about this place. It was a beautiful property and a really elegant space. The food was excellent and the staff super friendly and professional. We attended a family wedding and truly enjoyed the ambiance and experience. It is definitely worth considering if you are hosting an important event.

2022-03-26My husband and I had our wedding at Whitby Castle on 3/19/22 and we couldnt be happier with our decision. From when we first met with Niki in October 2020 through our wedding, the staff was always prepared and professional. Whitby has all the options and answers to all of your questions and the staff pay great attention to detail. They met and exceeded our needs and always with a smile on their faces. Niki and Ralph work together like a well-oiled machine. The chef, Fernando, cooks with such love and care that you could taste it through his food and was enjoyed by all of our guests. Everything was artful while also delicious. Gabriel was so attentive to us during our tasting and the whole night of our wedding to make sure we were always happy. Gabriels smile can only be met with more smiles. We loved the space which has such natural beauty that you need not worry about budgeting for anything else. Youre not going to find another castle, on a golf course, on the Sound ever. This is the one. Its beautiful, the staff is excellent, and youll be happy with your decision to have your wedding or other event at Whitby. Thank you Niki, Ralph, Fernando, Gabriel and Whitby family for everything!

2022-06-02We had such a beautiful May wedding at Whitby Castle and could not be happier with our experience working with them. We looked at a lot of venues that left something to be desired – they were too small, hosted multiple events at the same time, etc. But when we walked into the ballroom at Whitby, we immediately fell in love and booked shortly after. Every room is beautiful, especially the ballroom and outdoor terrace, making it a great choice for a partially outdoor event. We had no problems postponing our date with them due to the pandemic, and they honored the original pricing even two years later. Niki was so friendly and always available to answer my (often very specific and anxious) questions. Ralph helped run our day to the minute, with a sense of humor. He checked on us throughout the wedding day to make sure things were happening when and how we wanted. We used an outside caterer and, from all we could see, they worked together seamlessly. Our guests were as happy as we were. Im so glad we found Whitby, and we would recommend it wholeheartedly, whether youre having a wedding or other kind of celebration.

2022-04-25My wife and I got married on 04/23/22 and had the most exceptional wedding experience. For starters we had to postpone our wedding twice because of COVID, Whitby was exceedingly accommodating of this and honored our original contract throughout the process. The staff at Whitby are exceptional, Niki was extremely responsive throughout the whole process. Ralph was fun and energetic, he made sure the entire night went according to plan and that we didnt have to worry about a single thing. The food was exceptional and the castle itself is stunning. Could not have more positive things to say about this venue

2022-05-25My husband and I had our wedding here in January of 2022. The food was amazing, the staff is amazing, the reception hall was perfect. Niki and Ralph are so easy to work with and accommodating, chef Fernando was brilliant, and we even had a staff member (Willy we are so thankful) pull us aside during cocktail hour to make sure we ate!!! My husband has a gluten allergy and they worked with us effortlessly. So very thankful to them !

2022-04-25From the moment my husband and I stepped into Whitby Castle and met with Niki, we immediately felt at ease. We had a sense of relief and excitement all mixed in one--we had found our venue! We knew it instantly. The venue and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The fact that its an actual castle built in the 1800s is amazing. You truly feel as if you are in England, far away from everything. Our guests are raving about the INCREDIBLE food from start to finish (the Chef Fernando is SO sweet and talented), the magic and romance of the day, the flawless team running it all--RALPH, our maitre d, was simply fantastic. He kept us on track the entire night. Hes fun and personable, yet professional, and you can tell he has done this a million times--but still enjoys every moment. My Bridal Attendant Stefanie was absolutely a godsent. We had the most perfect day, straight out of a movie. We were beyond elated to see our dreams come true. Everything you can think of--communication, help, professionalism, incredible food, gorgeous views, countless photo opportunities, generosity, talented & friendly staff, and a stunning place to get married--is found at Whitby Castle.

2021-11-17From start to finish, Niki, Ralph, and their entire team did an amazing job to make Whitby Castle the most perfect wedding venue we could have found. When looking for a venue, the castle hit all of our requirements - full weather protection, something unique, and no stuffy ballrooms without windows. The incredible staff was an added bonus! Starting with our venue tour, Niki was prompt with answering any and all questions we had about the castle, logistics of the day, and planning needs to coordinate with our vendors. A few weeks before the wedding, we met with Ralph to go over our day-of details and we immediately knew we were in good hands. We custom-made most of our decorations and Ralph and his team did an impeccable job making our vision a reality. Our guests and families are still raving about the food (which is to die for), the extensive cocktail hour spread, the amazing synchronized serving of dinner, and the attention to detail throughout the entire night. Were still floating from our wedding night at the castle and could not be happier to recommend an amazing venue with an even more amazing staff.

2019-12-05Whitby Castle was the first venue we looked at for our wedding and after a tour and meeting we booked that day. The attention and service the staff gave to us was simply unprecedented. Throughout our engagement, I would email with random questions (a lot) and they were always answered right away. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Ralph and his team were superstars - they made sure every single detail we wanted was achieved. The day and night of our wedding was absolutely perfect. We did not have to worry about anything. The food was incredible, the dance floor was the perfect size (214 people), and the service was 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend Whitby Castle to anyone who is looking to get married in Westchester.

2019-01-04I was recently married at the Whitby Castle, they did an amazing job! Our guest were WOWd from the beginning when they pulled in the driveway to the castle and amazing back drop. We were married outside on the lawn at dusk, the weather was perfect and the lighting on the castle. Our guests kept talking about the amount of food and top notch service from the staff. Ralph did an amazing job! From our first meeting he was on top of all the little details and had amazing suggestions. We are extremely happy we picked the Whitby Castle, we couldnt have asked for a better wedding. We cant thank Ralph and the whole staff on the event they put on for us. Thank you!
