White Tiger in other cities:
Great food. Great place to hang out with friends.Loved Mandoo (Korean Dumplings). The sauce that comes with it is a HIT. A slightly tangy and acidic taste to the sauce goes really well with the sesame seeds.Fried rice with kimchi and pork was nice. Slightly sticky rice with a great balance of kimchi and spice.Veggie Ramyun: compilation of lovely ingredients. Beautiful flavors.
Small portions, and yet I managed to leave half the food untouched because it was completely tasteless. I ordered the Fried Chicken and their version of Spicy Rice Cake and I did not know that it was possible to mess these up. I’m possibly especially disappointed that the menu is supposed to be a white man’s version of Korean, as there is no item on the menu that comes even close to doing justice to Korean food. I would recommend only for the cocktails if you don’t mind spending $$$
As mentioned in some other reviews, the food is flavorless - it somehow manages to be flat and underwhelming even when served hot and spicy. The vibe is loud and fun, but again, it doesn’t compensate for largely average food. One person in our party was especially disappointed with the shrimp salad plate - which was a heap of wet greens and veggies with a few shrimp, all without dressing or flavor. Go elsewhere if you want authentic Korean.
We had delicious flavorful entrees: one of the crispy rice bowls and pork soups. However, the Deviled Eggs appetizer was way too fishy and put me off (and this is coming from someone who loves sardines and puts fish sauce in her omelette). Service was great and the place is adorable.
Came here on a Friday. My friend had made a reservation for two but I had assumed wed both be bringing our partners because apparently Ive forgotten how to communicate with people after being a hermit during the pandemic. I thought Id surely screwed the pooch on this one but the waiter was able to give us a four top at 6pm on a Friday, when things were pretty busy. I could tell the wait staff was eager for us to eat and order on the faster side of things but thats totally understandable. The food was delicious and super filling. I got the Eel Du Bap and absolutely loved it. Wonderful tastes and textures, with some of the most flavorful tofu Ive ever encountered. The JeJu DiNo was mandarin flavored and came with a plastic bone and dinosaur garnish. A quality spot and definitely worth hitting up should you find yourself in Prospect Heights.
I have lived in Brooklyn for 5 years and this is my favorite restaurant. Favorite dishes are the japchae, the jaryook gnocchi, and the pot stickers. The Seoul sister is my favorite cocktail but there are a bunch of options. Our server, Tuti, was very professional and super helpful when ordering. Lots of outdoor seating options!
Really excellent food, but pricey with relatively small portions. The inside of the restaurant feels more like a bar, with little room for individual tables, and the outdoor seating isn’t anything special. However, service is always great and the food is both unique and extremely flavorful. If you’re looking for a date spot in the area this is a good choice.
Amazing food, awesome creative cocktails, and the coolest, kindest owners in town!! The servers and bartenders also rock. All the food is delicious, but my kids particularly love the sesame gnocchi and the chicken bites. We absolutely can’t do without the pork bulgogi!!
The food was just ok. It wasnt real Korean food. I didnt see much Korean people in there. I had the Korean fried chicken which was more bread than chicken. The ramen was also not great. The drinks and service however was very good. The bartender who served us was the best part of this experience hence the three stars.
Wasnt fond of the chicken wings (which I think were frozen before they cooked it.) It had no seasoning at all. Then they smeared some spicy sauce on it. Presentation was horrible. And the chicken bites were no better. French fries were decent. Maybe, should have ordered the dimplings.
I came here for lunch on a weekday in October. I sat outside, because the weather was so nice. (The outdoor seating is right on Vanderbilt, which can be a little noisy at times.) I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which was way too large for me to eat, and came with Kimchi Fries and a small side salad. The sandwich was juicy and flavorful but not at all what I expected. The bread was very high quality. Im not sure why the fries are called Kimchi Fries, but they were delicious. The side salad dressing was perfect. The waiter (owner?) was attentive and had great suggestions. I would recommend this place, as it has great atmosphere inside and tasty food, with the caveat that it is a bit pricey. P.S. If youre like me, and prefer fountain soda, they serve canned sodas.
Korean(ish) restaurant using quality ingredients. Food comes out all at once - the bibimbap was hot and fresh, kimchi fries were tasty, lettuce wrap platter came with very tasty (and generous portion) of galbi.Sesame tofu salad was average, and you can skip the chicken wings.
Okay food...if you like to dine with cockroaches. Food was okay, service was less than mediocre, dining outside was disgusting. We sat outside, and killed two cockroaches while eating, not really acceptable..and the snide busboy said well its New York! He doesnt care, obviously not here for service.

2022-04-26Every dish I’ve tried at White Tiger I’ve absolutely loved! This time around was a post-Brooklyn Half Marathon celebration, so we went all out with the protein and carbs. It was wonderful, and being outdoors didn’t hurt.

2022-07-10The food and drink were great and our server Sylvia was the best! She recommended some of her favorite menu items including the frozen cocktail (served in a korean soda can!) and the jaeyook gnocchi! We also got the curry popcorn, kimchi fries, and chicken bites to share. The sauces are delicious, especially the spicy chili aioli.Definitely returning to try their other large plates!

2021-11-15One of my favorite Korean restaurants in nyc, The food here is amazing everything brought out is always quick, fresh and delicious. The menu has a lot of great choices, the Bibimbap is usually my go to.

2022-04-02Cool spot that is part lively bar part Korean restaurant.Definitely not ideal if you’re looking exclusively for Korean dining experience (no side dishes, more simple menu items). We got a soup and a bibimbop which were solid but not mind blowing.Would consider this more of a bar that offers Korean food than a Korean Restaurant.

2022-03-20How are you a korean restaurant if you don’t have free banchan(the wait staff are great though!!)

2021-06-02We had dinner outside at white tiger on a Friday night when Vanderbilt was shut down. It’s so great to go on the weekends when you can take advantage of the outdoor seating and the fun vibes on Vanderbilt. We ordered a lot of food to share including the chicken bites, kimchi fries, lettuce wrap platter, banchan, bulgolgi and kimchi fried rice. All were good but my favorites were the bulgolgi and kimchi fried rice. My boyfriend lived in Korea and complained that the flavors weren’t strong enough, the banchan wasn’t the best and that you had to pay for banchan. I thought it was a delicious meal regardless!

2022-06-11Delicious food, and really great service. We came with a big group, and they were very accommodating and made our experience very memorable. Will definitely be back!

2022-04-02The service was great. The white tiger cocktail and margarita were good. The tofu bibimbap and shiitake soup were bland and flavorless. The prices are very high for what you get, and the overall experience was disappointing.

2022-03-28You can’t charge this much for old pork and dry chicken! Everything was overly salty and garlicky (this is what dipping sauce is for, people); the waitress thought makgeolli was a brand of beer; and even in a mostly empty dining room, the servers were too busy chatting with each other to flag down. The bibimbap was okay although its rice didn’t crisp in the pot.
