Whole Foods Market in other cities:
It was my first time in a Whole Foods store, and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely friendly, upbeat, and happy to be helpful. Food selections were definitely interesting, there were quite a few ingredients that I dont often see in local grocery stores, such as dragonfruit. They had a large variety of kimchi and pickled foods, and a lot of great frozen food options like different types of frozen rice. I went there because it was a location option for returning products I bought from Amazon, and the return process was very simple. At checkout I learned that if your card is linked to Amazon Prime, you may be able to save money with discounts and sales. Great store overall. The only downside, in my opinion, was that there werent any cart returns near the handicapped areas of the parking lot. I opted to walk mine back inside the store. Many people were leaving their carts because of the small number of cart returns.
Aisles are always messy. Staff never asks if you need help not even says excuse me when they bulldoze through you.Lol came again, had spiders in our fruit, tried getting an iced coffee but after waiting 20 minutes for a girl to make a latte we left. Such a shame.1 yr later....almost out of all good, skeleton crew running store, 1-2 cashiers max, food is almost double the price and half the selection as Wegmans, turning out to be an epic fail, poorly managed and run, such a shame... Just go to Wegmans and deal with the chaos
Was super pleased by the opening of this establishment. They have an incredible variety of good fresh produce and many of it is locally sourced too. The butcher station and the bakery were also incredible. Prices are actually on par with other local retailers and I noticed some produce was a tad cheaper! I was able to get a greater variety of Ingredients for my chili here than I could elsewhere, so I was super pleased about this. They have a prepared foods section, salad bar, coffee shop and few other gems as well. An absolute must go.
Nice grocery store, well organized and the staff is friendly. Fresh produce and good variety of regular household staples. Washrooms are clean, baby changer inside. There’s a bar within the store and a large sitting area to enjoy food items prepared in the store. I like that it has Amazon lockers so I can pick up my packages and do my grocery shopping.
Their croissant here is the worst. Dry, NOT buttery, NOR has crispy crust. Just tasted bland and cheap. Better buy croissant from local bakery if you want to eat REAL croissant. This location is the worst. I had better croissant at other Wholefood location outside of buffalo.
What a great store! Great atmosphere and they have such a great variety of organic and whole foods. Its bright, clean & well- stocked. Most of the staff are friendly & helpful. Their prices are pretty high on some things, so I only can afford to go here once in a while.
This place is like the Cadillac of grocery stores. So, to be sure, its very pricey and offers mostly specialty items...but they seem to be offering a certain experience. I went on a Friday night at 9pm and the parking lot was still packed; the place was still very busy. The hype will probably die down eventually, though.Everything is fastidiously organized and the whole place does look shiny and new with its coffee bar, Bocce ball court, bar/restaurant, butcher shop, etc. Everything looks beautiful. The bakery is full of lovely confections. The fruit is even neatly and perfectly stacked. Like I said, its a nice, aspirational experience. And if youre looking for a very specific kind of hummus, hey, theyve got a whole case to choose from. Also, yeah, it does seem to live up to the hype of super fresh offerings so thats part of what youre paying for.For those of you who said that Whole Foods prices are on par with local retailers LOL from those of us living paycheck to paycheck...No, just no. I spent $25 and got about 5 items (a small strip steak, some mushrooms, some peaches, apple cider vinegar, and small piece of cheese that was on sale). Had one peach left after a week. It had gone mealy.
Food is delicious, mostly organic and reasonably priced. Membership is free if you have Amazon prime. Just visited club 818 inside the store and who knew they had kubucha on tap! The elderberry flavored kubucha gave me the feel of having a alcoholic drink at lunch, without actually having alcohol. The food was great, during the hours of 4-7 they have 2 for 10 food specials! The staff was fantastic! This is a go to spot.
Roses drooped after 2 days.I purposely protected the flowers from the cold and wind when I was at checkout, took care of them to prolong their life when I put them in a vase with the packet of flower food. But they still flopped after 2 days.WTH? Great price for valentines day but not a good thing that despite my efforts they wilted much too soon. They were never exposed to the weather to or from my car either and I live only 2 tenths of a mile away. Again WTH
Excellent variety sold here. Must carry 12 different varieties of eggs and not just size! Considering the quality off the food sold, prices where reasonable and at times even cheaper than local supermarkets. Store was crowded but it had opened not too long ago. I will be back!
Ok I will start off by saying this. You shop here only because you enjoy a large assortment of organic and vegan products. With that being said, the prices which are high is not a factor. The saying goes, you get what you pay for. That saying is so true with this store. I enjoy the fresh produce, and meats they have. I also shop here for their Tessemaes salad dressing/marinades. If you dont know about Tessemaes, then you need to get a new network of friends. Lol because your missing out on some good dressing.
More trouble at the bakery. A few weeks back my husband, Joseph Valente, received poor and downright rude service at the bakery counter from a cake decorator who actually cursed at him. Today, I went to the same counter and was waited on by a woman who barely spoke English. I asked if I could get a half loaf of challah and she looked at me uncomprehendingly and said, No, I dont think so. She didnt explain why I couldnt get something I have purchased there many times. She didnt offer to find someone better able to help me. She wasnt motivated to do anything at all. The bakery, once the friendliest and most efficient department at this store has become a service nightmare.
So amazing!! Lots of vegan options in every single aisle! The bakery and sushi is amazing. The employees are nice, sometimes it’s hard to get help but wonder around 58 times and some one will come to the rescue. The best place to get help is in between the whole body and dietary supplement aisle, there is a tall fellow who’s always extremely helpful!! :)
I regret what has been happening at this Whole Foods store, which I have long patronized and valued. The employees used to be so gracious, so expert in thier area, and so considerate and efficient in the assistance they provided. But there has been a noticebe decline in customer relations in recent months. Today, there was noone in the bakery section capable of taking the simplest order for a birthday cake and confronted with her own incompetence one of these people (who actually seemed to be in charge) started cursing me out. I ultilmately had to place my order with the store manager. The bakery counter used to be one of the best run departments in the store--now an emblem of a downturn in service and even respect for the customer.
My 1st time even seeing one! I was impressed just from the exterior. Store was well lit and clean. Most prices were on the higher side, however, there shelves were well stocked, large variety of items, and very friendly people. I was able to get a item, selenium, which I have been searching for, for the last 2 months. That in of itself made the visit worth it.
Hot damn! I dont think much could change Buffalos loyalty to Wegmans, but this Whole Foods location is worth the visit. With all the criticisms about the prices of food here, when I visited, I saw all kinds of people shopping here. The selection of global produce and products, variety of meats and fish, and really outstanding ready to eat options was impressive. The environment was lively, fun, and fresh. You dont have to do all of your grocery shopping here, but definitely go enjoy a date night or two! Bonus points for the long handled baskets you can drag around the store for easy navigation and lightening the load!
Been to over 30 whole foods across our great country. Never has one stopped making pizza by 6pm when they close at 9pm. I asked several employees why? The response was its above my pay rate never got an answer. Waited for the team leader never came to speak to me. They make a great pizza which is consistent across all whole foods thats why we choose to buy it their. Hope they make a change to those pizza hours.
Whole foods is very nicely organized. It was easy to locate the meat alternatives, gluten-free, vegan, etc. However, the price point is a little high. I think its more a buy certain times here shop vs one stop for everything shop. Which, there is nothing wrong with that at all.
Not the cheapest grocery store in the area but THE PLACE TO GO if you are looking for healthy food and health products! Surprisingly knowledgeable staff given they have only been open for a few months. Watch for bones in the chicken at the hot bar, twice I have picked up saucy indian chicken dishes to discover at home most of what I purchased was sauce and bone and very little meat despite ingredient label saying chicken cutlet. Second time I complained and they offered a full return!Update : first time here in about 4 months and was very pleased to find every single item on my shopping list in stock!
No hot table dishes currently due to re-up of covid, but lots of tasty options from the chefs in the cooler section. Tasty mashed potatoes, tasty BBQ meatballs that needed more BBQ sauce, thus the 4☆ instead of 5! Clean, quiet, and quite delicious, so worth the Whole Foods price!
Came here to get some dinner and everything on the hot bar looked gross and old. Eventually decided to just grab some pizza cause I figured you cant mess that up... I was wrong, possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. Tasted like stale cardboard, I ended up throwing out my second piece it was so bad. The staff all seemed miserable as I walked through the store. Layout felt disjointed and a poor utilization of space. Horrible experience.
Love Whole Foods! Its a great place to get fresh produce and specialty items. Foodies, people with food allergies, and those with special diets alike will LOVE this place because they always have a unique selection of products that other stores in the area dont carry. Icing on the cake - the staff is friendly and ready to help at all times. Glad we have this food resource close to home. :)
Great store but the location is awful. really unfortunate because Wegmans quality has taken a cliff dive and Tops has been poor for at least 21 years but I really hate driving in this part of Amherst. I imagine that Ill hate driving in other parts of Amherst just as much in 5-10 years so maybe Ill make the switch by then.
I love Whole Foods! You can find some different kinds of foods here but they are a bit pricey. Why is it if you want to eat healthier and more organic it costs an arm & a leg??? This location is definitely big and is always clean and organized every time I have ever been here. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because they are a bit more expensive than a regular grocery store but if were comparing apples to apples Im sure that the grocery store is just as expensive for their organic products also.
Its Whole Foods. If your hoity toity then this is the place for you.I just bought salmon cause its about the same as the mail order stuff and its nice to pick what you like... ok ok so I love salmon. Its very clean and if you like that kind of shopping then Im sure it would be a 5 star place for you.For myself, over rated and over priced items keep me from venturing inside. I feel like I should drive a BMW or Mercedes just to park in the lot HAHA
Nice store to shop in, very clean (they even sanitized my cart as I entered) and there were a good day selection of items. The best prices are reasonable, I found some choices that I never saw in any of the other local shops. The staff is courteous, polite and sociable, overall a pleasant experience!
Not a store for POC the energy is dank and uninviting. Only come because I have a girlfriend who lives in the city and raves about it. Prices are very high fir the same products you can get at our local co-ops or Trader Joe’s even wegmans. Nothing is below $6 and maybe $3.99. This aid the type of store you go to when you want to feel better than others. No one greeted me no one asked how I was doing or did I find everything okay. Not to mention there were absolutely no persons of color working here. So it’s a NO for me.
It was my first time shopping there and this review is based on comparing it to Wegmans. They had a good selection of produce, much organic, which was great. Obviously the rest of the store doesnt have the huge selection that Wegmans has. I was not impressed with the bakery. We got a few different desserts and breads and the bread dont even compare with the softness and freshness of Wegmans bread. a lot of things had much higher prices than Wegmans too. The loaded baked potato soup was excellent though. Overall I would stop in there once in awhile to try some different things that they have that Wegmans doesnt have, but thats about it.
I was delighted with the array of fresh vegetables and fruits as well as fresh fish and a real butcher to talk to. Its out of my way to get to this store but well worth the trip. The young people were very pleasant and helpful to get me started using the Prime app. (Im 84). As always, you need to shop wisely. This is not the place to do your entire weekly shopping. It would be my fondest wish that a Whole Foods store would open in the Southtowns (Buffalo suburbs) where I live.
I’m very disappointed at their prices. They’re way to high for the same exact things that are sold just up the road at Walmart. For ex. The primal kitchen salad dressing $3.98 at Walmart, $6.99 at Whole Foods. That’s extortion.I do like that Whole Foods offers some products that you can’t find in other stores. I like their gluten free flour options. Overall I’d still shop there for somethings.
I like it here - my first experience was a little overwhelming, not seeing products that I am used to, but the simplicity of this establishment is what is so attractive. Ill be coming back here in the future - I was able to find duck eggs with no problem, and the staff is very helpful!
I love going to this whole foods. Even though the prices are a bit higher for certain items, I still love shopping here. They have extra discounts for Amazon prime members, which I am. The fruit is a great deal if you are an Amazon prime member, and the quality is superb. I only ever purchase my fruit from here now. Whole foods offers such a wide variety of items and is a great option for people who are vegetarian or gluten free. The desserts from here are delicious as well, but pricey. I love the mochi from here too! Overall, great store.
I really love this store. I’ve haven’t shopped at another Whole Foods location, this is my first. I come here about twice a week. I can’t afford to exclusively grocery shop at Whole Foods, but it’s wonderful when you need fresh herbs, special cheeses, hard to find ingredients. The staff is lovely, I’ve become friends with a couple of them!
Ive been going to this Whole Foods since the Buffalo location opened, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Theres plenty of space; the store is very clean; the employees are friendly and very helpful; and there are all sorts of products I can find here that I cant find at other locations. Also, their prepared foods are to DIE for!
Shopped here for first time to check out selection as I start keto type diet. Found they have special setup with glass gallon jugs and fill of reverse osmosis water which I wanted so I was pleased. Many prices run high so I wouldnt get all my needs here but overall beautiful store. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I like that I find things I need for my alkaline diet. What I don’t like is that when I come to this store the employees are constantly watching me like I am about to steal something and consistently asking me if I need help. It makes me feel very uncomfortable but I have no other choice but to go to this Whole Foods because this is the only one in Buffalo. Black people take care of their bodies as well. There is no reason to harass me. All I want to do is shop in peace.
Very clean and nice setup. I am not sure that I would drive out of my way for their selection but if I was in the area would return. They have a bocce court so I would love to play a game or two some winter night. Their prepared food selection is nice with a ton of healthy options. Next visit I will try their meats since they looked real nice.
Its absolutely great! Buffalo has definitely been missing a Whole Foods and its here! The fact that almost all of the items sold here is healthy and organic is just convenient. The store is small compared to other Whole Foods but still has a wide selection and different items to choose from. The people are super nice and overall a great price place in my opinion.
Whole food is my favorite supermarket to shop, the shopping experience is extraordinary. And it’s very convenient if you don’t like to go to shop in person you can always use your amazon prime to do online shopping and you get a lot of deals in store if you are prime member.
I am happy Whole Foods is in WNY, but this store is not the same as other Whole Foods. I feel when they opened this store they didn’t understand this market. There are a lot of nice grocery stores here and they seem to feel as if they don’t have to compete. The selection needs to improve and the prices need to reviewed. Trader Joe’s and Wegman’s have the same products for a lot less. Customer service is also lacking: I wanted a sandwich without an ingredient and the person behind the counter said she would take it off not make a new sandwich?? I have had employees put away my groceries while I’m still shopping? I returned a spoiled item and the person doing the return put in the return as I changed my mind? I didn’t even take the item home I tried it in the parking lot and it was clearly spoiled. The store is beautiful and I want them to be successful instead of disappointing.
I do like this store, but the employees at the food stations leave a lot to be desired. The coffee guy ignored me for five minutes and the meat guy couldnt understand when I requested he flatten a steak. Communication and attentiveness matter in customer service, IMO.
I thought Wegmans was the best thing that happened to groceries til I walked through this store. It has excellent seating if you wanna sit and have a latte or coffee. It even has a smoothie bar - literal bar (as in tavern). All the food is fresh, well prepared, and organized. They even make their own fresh pasta (they have a pasta bar).
I really like Whole Foods. The fresh bread is good, especially the 4 cheese bread. They have giant pretzels which are good. Wish there was some dipping sauce options though. They have multiple different mochi ice cream flavors. I buy my oatmeal here. I shop at Wegmans mainly but whole foods is a good switch up.
Honestly, I think Whole Foods is a lot more hype than its worth. Its definitely not a store I feel is worth driving out of my way to, as they often dont have what Im looking for, and theyre pretty damn expensive. Its not a horrible store by any means, but I think weve got a lot of other alternatives that are just better. Whole Foods is large, loud and super pricey!
They lost a star in my review to the fact that a lot of the cookies sold by weight are stale. Not just a little stale, but break a tooth stale. Specifically the chai shuffles, the enrobed crispy rice treats, and the black and white/half-moon cookies, all absolutely hard as rocks. When the baked goods arent stale, however, they are awesome, way better than the other grocery stores nearby. The staff are all really friendly and helpful, which is nice. The produce selections can be a bit limited (no bean sprouts?), but there are a lot of other non-produce items which they offer that are tough to find at conventional grocery stores, so thats a bit of a trade off. However, more and more it does seem like some of their better items are disappearing, like their store brand of jalapeno hummus.
Very spacious and clean store. Extremely pleasant personnel and well maintained and conveniently placed products. I am a student at UB so I am watching my price tags, however I usually spend less money at Whole Foods than I do at Wegmans for my weekly groceries. That being said I dont see it being as expensive as people say it is. The experience I get at Whole Foods always brightens up my day and make me do healthy choices. Definitely recommend!
Yes its a bit more expensive but well worth it. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Saw tomahawk steaks while here last week and came back to treat myself. Was disappointed when there were none to be had. The butcher quickly offered to do one up for me.... The gentleman at the seafood counter answered all my questions as well.Love this place and the staff
The food court is amazing. They have ramen now. They also have a bar inside, it looks pretty cool. The price is up there but the produce section is very appealing. Wide variety of meat and seafood.Staff are friendly and nice.Recommend if you dont mind the moneyGood for dates. Not food if you have a budget.
Huge selection for vegan items!!! We found everything we needed here and wished we had just stopped here first. Awesome take-out section as well. Lots of tofu options. The barbecue tofu is amazing. The grilled tofu we wont do again but would definitely come back here to shop and to eat.
I have never seen a place other then wegmans, if even that that help you like i had today. The help here for me was outstanding Ive only been there once, so I didnt know were to find stuff they went out of their way and helped me. 5 different employees were going out of their way for me. I hope management sees this and they should be proud of these workers!!!!!
If your into Organic... Its five stars all the way. If your looking for regular shopping, well... Not so good. Its certainly a beautiful store, lots of good for you foods, amazingly maintained, shelves stocked and filled with goodies for the health crowd. Seafood and Meat Department is top notch. You will be hard pressed to find better!
It is a pleasant experience to shop here, produce is good. I was just there the other day, got some food from the buffet bar, and decided to eat it there. I forgot my water bottle in the car, and when I asked the coffee/juice bar if they had a cup of water she told me there is a drinking fountain in the back! If you offer all of these places to sit and eat, plates and silverware to use can you at least have a water cooler?? Really, we pay top dollar at this store, a cool glass of water while shopping should be offered. Samples too please!
I guess I am not pretentious enough for this place. I understand you pay more for quality but there must be a reason there were more employees than Customers. Bocce court in front of the checkouts and bar is separate so I couldnt bring my drink out while I was playing if I chose to go to grocery store to play a game ? Store was clean and staff was readily available..again because it was empty.
Amazing food/ food quality/ and experience overall. The presentation alone is to die for. Bring your mom, bring your sister, bring your girlfriend, bring your pastor, bring dad, bring your pet squirrel impy they will all find something to do here. You will not be failed. The price of food is worth the price of admission. The quality of food will have you thanking your mother she gave birth to you through having sex thus making you have the ability to have the next level generational food. This place is for the savages.
Wow. Not entirely sure if this is a good wow or a bad wow. The store has an interesting choice of items but youve got to want to spend some serious green. This is NOT where youre going to do all of your weekly shopping. This will be the place where you pick up specialty items. If you want top notch organic then this is the place for you.I still like Trader Joes better.
Great selection of healthy products. Prices way too high though. Whole skinned animal carcasses on display in the back behind glass, to each their own, supposed to be appetizing I guess, but I think its sad, if not disgusting. They advertise animal welfare standards, which I respect, but not a fan of their display
Whole Foods is a blessing in disguise for me. It decided to open right around the time I started a rigorous plant-based diet to turn my health around and the availability/abundance of organic, quality produce at Whole Foods is very hard to find anywhere else. A bulk item section better than the one at Whole Foods is also nonexistent with the health food options to choose from. They even have amazing vegan options at the hot/cold food bars and machines now to make your own nut butters in bulk! I cant say enough about the knowledge of the staff there, who drop the cherry on top of the establishment.
Great store for meat, fish & produce but you have to watch your receipts. Many clerks do not know what the produce is & they start checks by you out while you are still putting things on the conveyer. Tonight I was too tired to check my receipt & now see I was charged $3.99 for an artichoke instead of conventional (ie not organic) broccoli crowns. Just going to have to be much more observant I guess
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat at the deli. Grabbed a delicious ready made Turkey sandwich that was huge and tasty! Also enjoyed a pasta salad. Theres always a big selection of healthy and flavorful salads and pastas for everyone. And yes theres pizza too, mmmmmm! Plenty of dining space for lunch, dinner, or anytime. Plus it has a bar with pool table inside. Check it out!
Whole foods, I really expected a much better produce section. Basics were all there were. Bulk foods really need to be bulked up in selection and options. Very pricey. Love the bread. Would travel just for the bread, oh and the mochi. Trader Joes has way better prices.
The Bakery is a religious experience. Who knew healthy food could be so good. Amazon bought them, so prices are coming down. Signup online for weekly ad, and download the app for additional savings. Amazing customer service, so youre in and out quickly with resolution. All this, plus the convenience of shopping online if you like with home delivery of your groceries.
I absolutely love this place. Every single staff member is ridiculous in such the greatest sense of the word. Ive never seen such passion for a job. Incredibly knowledgeable....... and so eager to help. And Im talking about every single person who works in the damn store. The whole place is squeaky clean!
Im finally posting my review and I must say this place is GREAT! I actually called corporate to complain because the So Delicious Cheese were almost always not in stock! The District managers got back with me and today I went in for some and the rack was empty I was ticked but decided to ask if they had any in the back anyway; to my surprise he brought out a box and started to restock it!!! So HAPPY!!! They listened and improved!!! If you ever have an issue call the number thats provided at the service desk to get in touch with the people in higher positions if the staff in the store arent helping or getting back to you (which is what was happening to me). Overall Im super happy with this store!!!
The store opened less than a week ago. Staff were great if they dont know theyre willing to find out. At least they were that way with me the two times I was there. As with anything else if you know what youre looking for and know prices will find deals. Parmesan cheese from Italy for $12. I bought other things that were cheaper at Lexington co-op. So, I learned something. I hope the competition is good for the consumers.
The staff is very nice and friendly. The foods are very good and theres a lot of items you can only get here and nowhere else!. Its a bit pricey and you usually cant leave without spending at least $20 but I guess its worth it! Im glad its in buffalo.if I lived closer Id prolly be there everyday and go broke! Lol🍎🍇🍳🍜🥗🍏🥕
Relatively new store that carries a variety of different items that may not be available in other supermarkets. Some things are pricy, but I found several things I had discovered when I was in the south that I didnt think Id find at home. The produce is attractively displayed, the deli items looked fresh and the store is very clean. All plusses!
My husband and I had Whole Foods make the cupcakes for our baby shower this last weekend, and they were AMAZING! We went with 35 vegan cupcakes, half vanilla and half chocolate, and had no idea what to expect. They were incredibly delicious—super soft, fluffy, and the icing wasn’t unbearably sweet like most store-bought cupcakes are (it tasted like they used a combination of sugar and vegan creamed cheese!). The vanilla was to die for and they put chocolate chunks inside the chocolate. I was blown away that the price for 35 was only $29.99...and they even offered to decorate them at no extra charge! I let them go with “decorator’s choice” and they surprised us with the cupcakes put together in the shape of a baby onesie that said “it’s a boy.” It looked like a cake from the top and everyone just pulled their cupcake from the bunch. All the non-vegan guests were shocked they were vegan, and every single cupcake was gone by the end of the party (we had 24 people show up). Definitely order more than you think you’ll need because everyone will want more!
The grass-fed NY strip steaks here are great, been $13/lb or so, works for me because these steaks are awesome! On the Grille! The building itself is a fantastic new build with modern synth-eclectic architectural styling. The picture of the grilled steak was one that I bought here and cooked up myself. Never, ever cut open a steak on the grill, take the steak off the grill and let it set for 5 to 10 minutes. I guarantee the best results possible!
First time Ive been there. Its new to the area. Its not designed to shop and leave, it is a nice place to grab lunch or an early dinner. Theres comfortable seating and public games to play, like Bocce and a pool table. There is also a Pub, with a well priced happy hour during the week.
Visited the store with my mom for the first time - it was nice and had a lot of unusual items. My complaint is that a lot of the stuff they sell is by the pound, but there are no scales anywhere to be found. I am hesitant to go to the register not knowing ahead of time what I should be expecting to pay - I found this to be a big turnoff for me.
Awful service from the management team!!!! I needed to return an item, they claimed they didnt see the receipt in the computer, and didnt offer a remedy. I even asked customer service for the person that oversee the manager to give me a call back, since I didnt get a resolution from the manager. This person never called me back....Furthermore management was very rude to me as if I am the dirt on the bottom of his shoe. Again he is not the owner of the store. He is a manager. I am a customer that purchase items out of the store so he can have a job....
I have been waiting for Whole foods to open its doors since I heard they were arriving in our area! Beautiful store and the service has been very good at each visit BUT. They have no number system at any of their departments! There is no way staff can ensure who is next to be serviced. I have been passed up numerous times in the meat department and deli. Not very happy about that and this will make the difference with the public shopping here. This needs to be something Whole Foods changes. Also twice now I have purchased produce , and it was moldy after a day and the watermelon was terrible. Hope to see some changes in the future!
They have a better selection of vegan items then any other store in the area, but they need to get more vegan desserts in the bakery-one cake, really? Also, some of the vegan stuff is way over priced! So if its an item I can buy at Target or Wegmans, Ill be shopping for it there instead.
If you plan right its not much different than going to Wegmans. Th problem is you can get in a lot more trouble because the price range can go way up! The best part about this place? You can go on a weekend at noon and you wont get hit my random carts controlled by crazy folks.
I have been to Whole Foods stores in California, Nevada, Nebraska, New Jersey and New York. I found this store in the Buffalo area , when I visited in November , to be really beautiful and laid out well. Good prices and delicious hot food bar. Kudos to WF for maintaining a high level of grocery service. Thanks!
First Whole Foods in Western/Central NY...very welcome. I love whole foods because I can get specialty items that I cant even get from Wegmans. The only disappointment was the bakery, which wasnt quite as complete/didnt offer the same selection as other Whole Foods Markets I have visited.
Not bad for speciality items. Way over priced on many items. Health & shopping ethically isnt something to feel superior about people. Also, if you go there dressed even a little urban or bummy be prepared to be followed around the store esp if you are a POC (my partner is & it happens almost every time). I spend hundreds in there & its irritating to be asked if I need help picking organic deodorant. If you arent going to smell me and scent match, back off!
Good selections. I just wish that they would run specials on things like pecans, almonds, walnuts, Lillys chocolate chips (sugar free) and Swerve. I am going to try to go back on Saturday, 1/13/2018 even though it will be through a snow storm, and see if I can afford to get the products. Trying to live Ketogenic is expensive but I need to get my weight down and heal.
The Bananas are great. Fast service. There was also this guy named Kavon who was really helpful. He managed to stay with me and talk me through the pros and cons of certain products there. He has always been willing to give the extra mile when it comes to service. If you need help he is one of the people to go to. Also the apples are ridiculously expensive. Maybe you guys should work on that some more.
Way, way over priced. I understand now why it has the nickname Whole paycheck. Buffet food was dried out and really overpriced. Cashier tried to over charge me by about double and I had to point out that she had to remove the heavy binder she had sitting on the scale with my food. Wont be returning.
Above avg. Beautiful new store. Impressed with the butcher area. Coffee kiosk. Gorgeous bar. Expensive. Prepared foods was nothing to write home about. 🍕 pizza was barely average, mushy, expensive. Florist area is a joke. The cheese Dept is barely there. The staff has along ways to go. Not even close to Dashs or Wegmans. If they improve they have the potential of being a solid #2 to Wegmans.
9 times out of 10 when I come here they are complete under stocked on most things I come here for, like bare shelves, mind you this is before pandemic fueled panic buying. I even called ahead to have them set aside one thing in particular I come out here for, they agreed and said no problem, then when I drive the 30 minutes out here they tell me they dont have it. This place is an over priced joke.

2021-07-27It’s so awesome to have a Whole Foods here in Buffalo. I don’t get to visit as often as I’d like but they have such wonderful stuff. If you have never been it’s a huge offering of healthy/ organic/ better for you food, drinks, gifts and personal care items. It’s super clean, organized and the displays are pleasing to look at. I don’t feel like I’m in a typical grocery store here, it’s more like a chic boutique that happens to have groceries. What’s also wonderful is that they have a large assortment of organic produce, meats and sustainably raised seafood. Depending on where you are living in this area a large assortment of these organic items can be difficult to find. Its convenient to have everything in a one stop shop. Also on site is a coffee bar, hot foods to go section and fresh made items including salads, sandwiches or things that are ready to heat and eat.Whole Foods also has a ton of ready made and frozen offerings that accommodate dietary restrictions. It isn’t hard to find out if something is gluten, dairy or nut free here which is helpful if you have allergies. There are also a good amount of cool specialty items that accommodate allergies, which is good to know since these items are often scarce in other stores.A lot of the products are a bit higher end so your total can add up quickly but I am always happy with the quality of the items I find here. They are happy to help you shop if you are short on time. There is a huge section for grocery pick up conveniently located at the front of the store. Most recently I picked up some organic fig spread for my charcuterie boards, heirloom truffle pipcorn and gluten free fresh fettuccini and gluten free frozen ravioli.

2022-03-31My first visit to this store was on a weekday, about 4:00PM through 5:30PM. Typically a loyal shopper at that W store I gave this a try. Impressions follow. The lack of diversity [stay tuned] in goods was problematic. I expected higher quality goods and Im willing to pay the obvious higher prices, but often youre left with their store brand or nothing. Some typical items didnt seem to exist. I searched several minutes for white eggs. I couldnt find any they were all brown... ironic. I say that because despite the store being overrun with seemingly friendly employees, NONE of them were people of color. Suspicious. Do my tax dollars subsidize this too? Hey Amazon, if you get up and apply yourself maybe one day youll get off corporate welfare.Anyway, all evening there were only a handful of customers there. More than a few looked like they hadnt seen a brown person since their grandparents bought one. Others went on mumbling about the high prices. One women exclaimed that she wanted a produce item but wasnt going to pay eight dollars... bleak, sad, bleak, sad.. and more distress. Speaking of that the produce were somewhat poor as well. I imagine with so few customers its hard to maintain a supply of fresh goods. So I wonder where one can go in Buffalo if you have money to spend and you want to temporarily forget youre in Buffalo (the segregation, depressed wages, depleted population, etc.). Probably not here.

2022-04-08Very nice. Very good. Very, VERY pricey. Who would have thought a sandwich alone could cost you a full hour of your minimum wage? You could save a couple of dollars if youre a member, but still.....There is no denying the quality of the products sold is there, especially if you are looking for a much healthier lifestyle. But if money is tight, which most of us are, this is not the place to shop - and why eating healthy can also be just as expensive.
