Whole Foods Market in other cities:
Come prepared by bringing a book, or better yet an audiobook to keep you entertained while youre waiting to check out. Shopping at this Whole Foods market at best reminds me of waiting in line forever at the post office. Or even worse, the many accounts that Ive heard of people waiting in endless lines while shopping in the former Soviet Union ... The items youre looking for are frequently out of stock.I often go to Whole Foods to grab a few items thinking I just want to run in get what I need and get out of there, but it can easily take 30 or 40 minutes or longer to get out the door. Out of 25 cashier stations on the ground floor, there are only four to five cashiers actually working. Consequently you end up waiting in line forever. And out of the four automated cash registers on the second floor, one is not working.
I used to love the store but quality of service is not comparable with before. The checkout line has only 2 cashiers on average. Many items are out of stock, the supply chain crisis has already past, this is not acceptable any more. It is sad since few blocks a way at traders Joe there appear to be no shortage of staff. This branch has a totally different vibe now in comparison with when they first opened up this branch and it seems that management does not even try to make it better. To night just before I write this review I called the store to talk to the manager multipletimes , noone picked up the phone ,they used to pick up immediately. The cashier attitudes have also changed , they seem not to be happy. Such a pity since the selection of the vegetables and organic food and meat is much better than traders Joe. Hope the management of this branch takes our complaint seriously and makes an attempt to run this store with great healthy organic products better. Lets start by having more people at the check out line...hopefully with a smile
I walked in today on February 10, 2022. Mask mandate is now removed. Some Mexican male employee near the amazon returns was telling me to put a mask on. I could barely even understand what he was saying. Anyway, stop enforcing this stupid piece of cloth when the governor says we don’t need it anymore!!
Just came back. Everything on my list in stock. No wait to check out. Prices are pretty good. No change at this time. Theresa checked me out. Shes the best. Helped me pack and taped my prepared food containers. We had a lovely chat but she never missed a beat. Was out in very little time. Hoping to see her again when I go back next week.
...having food problems...tried their non-u.s. shoulder roast, all pieces wrapped together, some tender some notsogood...lastly, 42$ for boneless nz leg of lamb...had to trash, maybe its me, my stomach, or the nz grass, 😜 have to check with the m.d. people, not eating very much anymore anyway; its nice losing weight 🙃.
This store has become the shopping store for thewhole food pantry on-line personal shoppers. They are out of everything all the time, or the produce can be over ripe. The ice cream freezers are always breaking and the ice cream is often moved upstairs. The elevator to go upstairs to scan and get out quickly is always full of the personal shopping staff, that go on first. Its a disgrace. One good thing is the regular working staff is lovely to deal with when you ask for help. And yes they are understaffed and the wait to check out on the main floor is long, long , and longer. They need customer based management .
This place is very poorly managed. Nobody will believe that Jeff Bezos is the owner by the way this place is run. Sometimes look like it is almost ready to go out of business. Some aisles are empty , products that disappear for weeks or take for ever to be restoke. They have also plenty of problems with their refrigerator system in different areas. In addition, their cashier system is very inefficient, and sometimes can take you for ever to check out.
Something bad happened to this location over the last few month. I’m ok with long lanes, but you can clearly see location understaffed. What I’m not ok with is being changed twice for the same item at register or discovering empty bottles in the pack of soda.Furthermore I don’t like rude customer service when I complain about these issues. Roel, called himself a manager, and acted like selling empty bottles is new normal for Whole Foods.
So I usually never had an issue with whole foods when I lived in Los Angeles but I find the 2 different whole foods Ive been to since moving to NY the bake goods and fruit are only good for a few days before going bad or the bake good way over cooked or undercooked.... yet prices are a lot higher in NY then Los Angeles.... extremely annoying and the bakery needs to get better on their baking and if something like a pumpkin pie which is way over priced is over cooked, DONT PUT IT OUT THERE FOR CUSTOMERS TO BUY. For bulk shopper, everyone do themselves a favor and used instacart for Costco and get your bake goods there and whatever else you need. Whole Foods has really gone down hill.
I love this place. I should have took some pictures. I had a few dishes that were pre-prepped, and I just had to take them home and pop them in the oven: salmon with pesto sauce and tomatoes, lime and cilantro shrimp empanadas, and jumbo coconut shrimp. I did just that and they were delicious. I also bought vegan brownies and we enjoyed them- they were rich, moist, tasteful and a decent size that allowed you to enjoy it but not feel too guilty. I also purchased vegan chocolate chip cookies---- ahhhh man, they melt in your mouth. Weppaaa... Compliments to the bakers- theyre magnificent. Also had the cut up watermelon which were juicy. That sums up the food part... theres no parking lot for this establishment, you have to park on the street with meters.
Beware of fish from here!! My boyfriend and I both got horrible food poisoning from salmon we bought here and cooked the same day. Throwing up and shaking profusely for about four hours. Called the store directly to tell them that and the person on the phone said “I’m sorry to hear that” in a very sarcastic voice. I then asked if he could please let the fish department know so they won’t sell that specific fish anymore and he said “Thanks for letting us know” and hung up. Very odd and horrible customer experience. Will not be shopping here again!
The lines at the register are so long, you comfortably can catch up with your friends around the world, send your mother in law a nice WhatsApp and prepare your Holiday shopping list. You can also help them to clean up the store. Any NY deli is cleaner than this place.
A little dirty and chaotic on our visit. Shelving disorderly and no lights in many of the display cases making the place seem derelict. Trash on the floor. A long check out. Everything a bit of a mess. Id fire the manager if I was Bezos. Otherwise it was what youd expect from WF in terms of product. UPDATE - Rotisserie chicken was dry. This place needs a refresh.
Bad customer service at this location. Man working the fish station was very rude and short with me, I asked him for 7-8oz of tuna steak and he refused to do it. Saying he could only give me a big piece, seems crazy considering it’s relatively expensive. Never had such issue at other whole foods or citarella.
I keep trying...Bad ice cream (Talenti brand), frozen, defrosted, and refrozen.Bad mussels, frozen, shriveled, but still sold.Salmon, Bad tastingWild caught frozen scallops, defrosted, refrozen, Bad.And frozen pineapple, again defrosted and refrozen! You have to close this location! Before you incur law suits! It is a shame. PLEASE ADDRESS! 57TH STREET, OFF OF SECOND, NYC.
I could not get our of this store fast enough. I walked over from my apartment to return 3 Amazon items at the customer service station. The main floor was packed with shoppers, no set traffic pattern, no social distancing to speak of. It took me a moment to locate the customer service station, it was not conveniently located, I did not see any directional signs and I was unable to locate an associate for directions. Finally found it and returned my items. One redeeming factor - the customer service associate was terrific. I think I left via an illegal exit, but I had to get out of there, even though my intent was to shop for groceries after I completed my Amazon returns - not a chance in Hell.
I really want to write this review. This place is not safe and it is very dangerous under the current situation. I hope people can pay attention, especially its management team. This store is way too crowded, even in an early Sunday morning (around 8:00AM) with 20 F outside. The store should limit the volume inside the store coz we are under pandemic period. The store should also open more checkout stations or use self service checkout stations to allow minimum contact. The checkout line right now is extremely long. If we have to wait, it is better wait outside.
Great whole foods with tons of selection and very convenient location.Produce is the usual stellar stuff that you probably already expect, but I have to say that their meat section is wonderful and very wide in its available types.Service is fine and most of the rest of the store is representative of whole foods elsewhere.
Amazing grocery store! It offers wide selection of healthy food which is affordable and so delicious. Price wise - its pretty expensive, but thats because the food quality is good and everything is always fresh. The staff is kinda slow some times and there is busy hours and this store is so full. If you come here I would recommend to avoid the rush hours.
Excellent whole foods location. The cashiers can be a teensy but slow and frankly not the friendlier versions at other locations (although there are exceptions) but other than that I give this one super high marks.Produce is always excellent and so is the meat department. Bakery has great desserts and while it doesnt appear that they make any fresh bread here they have a wonderful selection. Also great hours... open to 11pm
Great location but horrible customer service.Tried to use my QR discount code but the app was just opening the screen “oops, something went wrong on our side”. The cashier refused to acknowledge the issue is on Whole Foods side that I can’t use my discount and I’ve been told “it’s your fault your phone is not working “
AVOID! Not up to what a Whole Foods market should be. I have found advertised specials too commonly not available (“sold out”), and customer service and employees’ attitudes towards customers greatly lacking. The upstairs area now seems to be an employee lounge and delivery prep area. Common to have lengthy check-out lines in the afternoon, even with fewer people in Midtown now. Union Square store is a much better option for available product and happier, pleasant employees.
Its always a decent experience, the usual Whole Foods urban employees but in a East Midtown commonplace sense. Its smaller than some you may enter but definitely large enough and has two separate lanes for cash or non cash.. no self service, but usually a fluent shop.- Raya
Good store majority of their products are fresh just be mindful of buying the beef and the fish in the meat area it look like it been sitting a little to long behind glass and their fish. The other day i smelled spoiled meat a very terrible smell for an upscale supermarket. I will often experience that if i go to other supermarkets that are poorly kept. It could be a little pricey compare to a regular supermarket. To buy a membership card to save money is way too expensive. Other than that the supermarket layout is nice and majority of their food is fresh. Some of their cashiers were very nice. Very clean store and nice eating area and clean restrooms upstairs.
Good Whole Foods location, small, but a decent selection of pantry goods, nice variety of fresh produce, good seafood and meat counter. Better prices on staples like eggs, milk, juice than most grocery stores in midtown east. Just dont expect to check out in a hurry after 5pm - the lines are long and slow.
What can you say about Whole Foods? Good place to find the organic options but this area is a central location in the neighborhood. So many people, lines are always long and it’s hard go find the stuff you need without running into more people. I’m not a big fan of this location.
We went there today, and we bought four pizza pies. Mayra made delicious pizza, and she was very helpful. Grandpa uses a wheeled chair, but the elevator was out of service today. Mayra took us upstairs using the stores special elevator... Thanks, Mayra. We wanted to leave a positive feedback, but we could not find a comment card box. Other staff were nice too. Great customer service.
Whole foods is a great market. Staff is helpful and friendly! Store is super clean including the bathrooms. The only downside of this particular location is that its always packed. Upside of that is if that many people are there its probably a good place. Pass by if you havent ever been.
Very good market. Prices have improved since their association with Amazon. Prime members get special prices! Dont know how I feel about that. They do have a good checkout system, with one line devoted to 10 items or less, and have several registers dedicated to same.
With covid numbers rising again, Im frustrated by my experience with this store. They were limiting the number of patrons in the store at once and now that seems to have gone away for some reason. Additionally, I saw multiple customers not wearing their masks, including ones that employees had explicitly asked to put their masks on. If these people cant wear their masks (properly) they should be removed from the store. What is being done to support workers when customers do not listen to them? I highly recommend avoiding this store until things change.
Extremely poor management in the store, it appear to be run by a kid and not a professional. They never stock some products and they love restocking the vegetable and fruits during rush hour, doing to stroll in the area a very unpleasant experience!! In addition the people who work as cashier are extremely rude, specially if you are Hispanic as myself. They make you feel not welcome in the store. I have been shopping there very frequently because I live in the neighborhood, but I can not put up with their attitude anymore.
I love this whole foods, great cafeteria section with low prices and fresh tasty food. They have a great bakery where you can get fresh breads and baked goods such as cakes, cookies and pastries. They make the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had and in multiple flavors like tequila lime and herb chicken. They also have great sales and specials daily.
Extremely crowded during weekends and it seems they’re not implementing any restrictions for COVID. No one was maintaining a safe distance, and there are lots of prime now grocery delivery workers roaming the aisles, which made everything worse. Only saving grace is that there are lots of employees around to potentially help people. If you’re one of the people who doesn’t care about COVID-safe environments then maybe you’ll like this place since you can walk in without any waits.
This is my favourite whole foods in Manhattan. Clean and always stocked well, it tends to have a great hot food bar and plenty of stuff in the deli.I usually stop on my way home when I dont feel like cooking or grubhubbing. Always a quick in and out, although lines can be long if you go before 7pm
Spacious overall. The cafe area is a good place to enjoy their ready made food or a coffee with pastry. The bakery staff is attentive too. Somehow the great apple strudel is offered not very often. I was alarmed that I asked for pasture eggs and I got a blank, deer in the headlights looks from an associate. Other staff members do not seem to be on the ball either for example having almost a shouting match in the second floor cafe oblivious to the customers. The produce has local NYC and LI lettuce which is good. But I was shocked how sloppy they were with the orange display. Having a big sign for Cara Cara oranges directly over the blood oranges.I like the Whole Body sections with many good items to choose from like French hand soap. Also liked their herbal extracts and sleep aids.Seems like Whole Foods is beginning to lose its edge. More bad experiences and I will have to change the rating to three stars.
Good selection. Sometimes very crowded. I saw a fistfight here once. The baked goods are pretty good. And deli items I usually stop at the deli to pick up a few things. hard to find if you re not familiar with the area - you have to go into the shops of columbis circle and then down the escalator. they have some tables so if you want to eat here you can.
I absolutely love the new whole foods prices! Ever since purchased by Amazon and merged with Amazon Fresh, this store is no longer ridiculously overpriced! I found everything I was looking for, and when an item on sale was rung up as full priced due to store error they said it meant I get it for free! Its very pleasant when store offers that without me mentioning a thing. All I said was oh ok, I mustve mixed up the prices, we ll skip this one and the double checked with management, they said she gets it free of charge due to error.
This was my first time at this whole foods location. I love that theyre open super early at 7:00 am so Im able to stop there on my way to the office. Also Im able to have first choice at the stocked salad bar before anyone else picks at it! Also I love that I can use my Amazon prime account for discounts ...make sure that you download the whole foods app and link it. Then you can use it and then at that point use the app or then you can be use your phone number linked to the app
Never ever a bad thing to say about wholefoods! If you need to shop somewhere that youll find good, healthy, fresh food, this is the place to go. Yes, lines may be long at times, but thats because everyone loves this place. Get there as early as it opens and youll get out early :) like I said, never ever a bad thing to say about you wholefoods!
The Whole Foods on 57th has to be awarded the worst grocery store in America. Nothing is ever in stock, any product you enjoy is discontinued, healthy items like cereals are organic but loaded with sugars, they penalize you with long lines if you buy more than 10 items, and the produce is often wilted and in poor condition. If you are looking for a headache and love wasting your time head on on over to the Whole Foods on 57th.
The well known tidy & ordered market but in a small location. Food selection is very good. Check-out system is excellent though I recommend visiting out of the peak hour. Racks for colds/dairy lack products the whole time. Cheese selection is more snob than useful. Some products bit pricey IMO.
Generally has a good selection but it a little smaller than some other stores. However this location has occasional bizzare droughts of empty shelves and basics totally missing. Its possible to show up and there be no tomatoes. Additionally its pretty crowded and the lines are fairly long.
Love Whole foods but this location is not managed well. Recycle machine doesnt work. Staff stand by chatting and not attending. The worst part is cashier careless about her job and throw my eggs into the bag!! Whole foods staff used to be so careful about the egg. They will tape around the egg cartonage and carefully place it into a bag.
Smallest compared to other Whole Foods Ive been at but that is not a disadvantage. The food is fresh though I find it a bit overhyped and some times overpriced but I guess it finds its customers. The cheese shop and the fresh fish is the biggest draws in my book but that is not the only thing available.Overall I think its a good place to shop but I cant see myself shopping there every day since a shopping like that puts a significant dent in a family budget.
A relatively new addition to the community but the response to them has been more than overwhelming. Catered to an educated consumer who desires healthier food selections. Without question though, there is something for everyone as is to be expected from a Whole Foods shopping experience.
Awesome friendly staff, always smiling and go above and beyond to help out. The 11:00PM close time is perfect for evening grocery store runs to pick up high quality items. The fruit selection is great, much nicer than I expected for midtown Manhattan. The pizza is good, but its not NYC pizza.
Butcher staff not friendly. I go to this WholeFoods every week simply because its the nearest one and I need organic grocery for my baby. I like it overall but today was upset about how the butcher staff. Not like fairway or other store, who gives out tickets. Theres no ticket given. So i expect them to pay attention to which customer arrived first. Thats not the case! They just ask whos the next and every one said I am. In that case they just pick the nearest one and serve. So I just kept in waiting for 10 min and end up leaving without buying. I didnt want to argue with senior citizens but feel it should be the staffs responsibility to keep in mind the order.
**UPDATE: Whole Foods: Jennifer at Customer Service is AMAZING ! So pleasant, informative, and kind. She displayed EXCELLENT customer service on my most recent visit. So much so- I added TWO more ⭐️⭐️She is really helpful !This location is decent sized- but super chaotic when busy. They SERIOUSLY need a dedicated 10 Items or Less line. Also- customer service workers at the front desk are RUDE- especially the fake blonde- with the condescending attitude. Altho they tend to have my fave yogurt- the shopping experience here is primarily UNpleasant- E. 86th is WAY better !
Love most of the wholefoods on NYC, yes they are busy and yes they are more expensive than most. But thats not the issue, this place is tiny! Barely any room for produce, and there is hardly any of the variety between shelf products like you see at other stores. They need to take over the corner of 57/2, and create a bigger space. Staff are helpful, not sure what the fuss is about on other reviews.
Today I went to my nearby Whole Foods on E 57th St. I wanted to purchase coffee beans. The selection was awful, the machine all gummed up and filthy.A very nice employee came and helped me but the whole experience was unpleasant. One of the coffee bags broke and I had to put the ground coffee in plastic bags. I will never again purchase coffee at this particular Whole Foods. It is the least pleasant of all their stores in the city. The one up by Columbia University is far and away the best-in terms of service, variety of offerings, cleanliness, and outstanding prepared Indian dishes. The one at Columbus Circle is next for excellence in service.
Awful produce quality.I finally stopped shopping at Wholefood and supporting big corporations. These are my local alternatives:Westerly (8th Ave and 54th St),Eataly (23rd St and Broadway),A Matter of Health (1st Ave and 72nd St),China Town street market,Health Nuts (2nd Ave and 63rd St or 2nd Ave and 44th St)
The worst cashiers quality I have seen! Sometimes I don’t even know what makes them so unhappy and careless doing their job. I shop there at least 3 times a week, I have to say there are still some good cashiers, but very few! I think I am going to find some other sources nearby, cannot stand the bad attitude I’ve been given at the cashier anymore!
I love the fact that this place has warm inviting environmentUpstairs is a nice big area to unwind. From the hustle and bustleI notice people playing cardboard gamesNick the barista is awesome creating interesting fresh juices and amazing tea combosDownstairs salad bar is always changing the menuOver all it has a nice inviting feelHope you agree with me :) PS. Nice cakes love the strawberry short cake
One of the best part of coming here is the location and having a lot of space to seat and eat your meals. (Upstairs) The prices of the meals are reasonable and there is a large selection for beers and beverages. If your looking for hot meals this would be the place. They have sushi and already made sandwiches as well.ConFor the people that are new to this area avoid the lunch hour times during 11-2pm. It will get crowded very quickly and the lines are very long. There is not enough ice cream selections and the space is a little tight with your cart.
Great variety of products. You can find whatever it suits your tastes in matter of healthy option starting from groceries to supplements and body products. The place is clean and not that crowded irregardless the time of the day. Plus, the staff are very efficient and respectful.
Not a big fan of this Whole Foods, it has a very strange smell in the freezer section although the freezer section is almost always empty- not sure what thats about 😂. Its a really full whole foods compared to all of the others in the city but- its okay I suppose 🤷🏽♀️.
We are regular shoppers at 57th street Whole Foods. Wednesday Macrh 11 evening I was frightened to see customers clearing out the fresh vegetables and fruits and the only thing left was remnants. This morning, Saturday March 14 , I see the vegetable and fruit department absolutely overflowing with nice fresh produce. Kudos to management for keeping the store well stocked!
I wonder what is going to happen to this store as the population rises in this neighborhood. This small store, with some employees who have poor customer service skills, has shelves that are too high and very narrow aisles. Products inconsistently come and go, they are constantly changing the placement of products in a very poor way (you can find chocolate, crackers, cookies, dried fruit, and nuts in three different places in the store, why? Its very inconvenient, but marketers say its good for buisness), and products prices are positioned in a way that confuses customers and employees. Honestly, it seems as this store has been overlooked by management, or corporate for that matter. I wont come back until something is done.
This is the best Whole Foods I’ve ever stepped inside. Not only is it super organized, you know where everything is so if you need to grab one thing you get out instantly. This one, unlike ones in NJ sells stuff I’ve never seen. They sell coconut yogurt here, so whenever I go I have to get like 4 containers so we have enough for everyone in the house to eat.
This Whole Foods location has made strides in improving their customer experience. 2 years ago when I moved to the neighborhood, I routinely experienced errors in checkout, abrasive staff, and recurrent conflicts arising in the checkout lines. Over the past year, I cant recall any such issues and have been happy to see staff members anticipate ways to prevent or de-escalate traffic-related conflicts that inevitably arise in a busy Manhattan store. Theyve also gotten better at restocking their quickly depleted shelves. Theres still room for improvement, especially in efforts toward waste-reduction, but its great to see responsiveness to feedback from the community and customer.
Whole Foods Market East New York. What can I say? You guys are top notch. The best of the best with the best. I go in there on a mission to cook as a private chef and I am in and out in under an hour on the regular. Seriously though Im not worried about giving away my secret because I know they could handle 10 of me and I would still get out on time. Please get better avocados, you know you will sell all of them. I have to get them in Brooklyn, why cant you?
I was there yesterday Thursday 5 around 9 pm. I was standing on line and basically saw a mouse. It was by all the products, before checking out. I told someone and they were going to take care of it. It’s not the first time. I’ve seen mouse drops all over some products. This is something you shouldn’t be seen while buying for, “fresh » products.
This place has the worst service of any Whole Foods I have ever been to.I stood in line at the juice bar for 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me, I asked employees to find someone to serve me and they acted put out. I asked for a manager and was told they were too busy and I would have to go find one myself. After 15 minutes someone showed up to take my order who seemed like they had no idea how to make a Matcha Latte.Horrible experience, so unlike Whole Foods or Amazon.
DELIVERY :: Ordered delivery for a corporate event. I work literally 5 blocks away and the food was an HOUR and a HALF LATE. A delivery time was previously scheduled but the food took FOREVER to finally get here and getting in touch with the driver seemed helpless. NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE. We were still charged.SUPERMARKET :: Great array of items. Ive purchased my first can of avocado oil from here and they have many other great variations of spices, oils and foods.
Great Whole Foods for the locals. There is a lot of upstairs seating on the second floor and the coffee bar isnt to far! Downstairs has a great assortment of the food for when your on the go, plus its not overrun with tourists like the Union Square and Bowery Whole foods locations! Great place to study since they have free WiFi!!
The workers at this location joke around all the time. Never helping customers. When I asked if they had a certain item, I person told me it’s in the baking isle. Once in the baking isle another worker told me it’s in the Italian section, in which I responded that I checked and it’s not there.Oh but apparently they didn’t have a huge selection in the first place (yes they did three days ago)One workers said they don’t carry it anymore.Once I started talking away the workers then found a big selection of brands.Purchased somewhere else.On top of that people at the cash registers are very unfriendly and slow. Thanks Whole Foods for hiring quality workers who care about their job!
Ive lived in the area for the past couple years, and I will tell you that Whole Foods is by far the best grocery store in Midtown East/Lenox hill. Sure there might be better Whole Food Markets in the city, but if you live close by, this is should be your go to grocery store. Considering its Manhattan, the prices are very reasonable and the quality of food is outstanding.
I have had the heirloom caprese sandwich from another whole foods in midtown, and wanted to show my hubby how awesome whole foods was and it was a bit of a disappointment. My heirloom caprese sandwich was just ok. The mozzarella was dried out at the edges and the bread was dried out. I should have picked it up earlier. But my hubby did pick up the makings for a sandwich and I got some seltzer water, $34.00 later. Ouch.
I was very pleased when this location opened just a few short blocks from my apartment; instead of making a weekly trip across town, I visit this location a few times a week to stock up on all of my favorite organic, non-GMO items. This location is much smaller than other locations that Im familiar with - for example, the floral department is adequate but doesnt have the variety of other locations, and many items that are available in multiple sizes or brands at other locations are only available in one or two at this location. Additionally, stock rotates quickly; an item that Ive been buying for weeks may suddenly disappear, but a request at customer service brings the item back on the shelves within a few days. Sales associates are always friendly, as at other WFM locations. I highly recommend using this locations catering option; we had success with Thanksgiving and Christmas orders.
The check out cashiers are a mess in the mornings, customer service desk reps are in over their head, meat and fish selection is ok, produce selection is inconsistent (no shallots one day, no cucumbers another).Ive seen much better managed Whole Foods Markets. Someone from management should come over and spend a whole day or week in the place, a lot of problems to fix.
I dread grocery shopping here. The employees are rude and the store constantly looks like the entire population of New York City is stocking up for a hurricane. As a result, a lot of essential items are out of stock so its very hit or miss as to whether or not the groceries youre shopping for will be in stock or not.
Spacious Cafe, welcoming Body section although could be more guidance or displayed logic as to how sections are categorised. The prices are on par with Amazon if on sale. Like with other whole foods I object to the plethora of sugar-based crack when you walk in and placed around the store so it is inevitable one must grapple with their existence which is difficult for someone addicted to sugar which I suppose much of America and possibly the world, is. im perplexed that for no other reason than profit motive they know wheat is not really good for you unless sprouted, yet their baked goods first ingredients are unbleached wheat flour and/ogoods theyThey do offer low sugar and whole grain options. They tend to be less popular so watch they dont fall apart or on the floor. I took my fallen half biscuit and went to buy it anyway since I wasnt about to put it back-- and the checkout girl saw It and said I didnt charge you for that. Most of the employees are personable and understanding and that goes a long way. This Cafe is probably the best although a little wide open so it can be distracting. Not as bad as union square or Columbus circle though. :-)
I used to love whole foods but other than visiting their hot bars / preprepped foods, I begin to shop more at trader Joes now. I find trader Joes to be similar / better quality with most produce and items and at more competitive pricing. And I live closer to trader Joes. And trader Joes got many unique snacks that are pretty darn good. The gorgonzola crackers, the cheese it sandwich mini crackers, dried broccoli, and etc
After touring Lowline, my friends and I decided to drop by Whole Foods. We dropped our bags and coats at the table on the 2nd-floor food court area while our friend watched our belongings. Downstairs, we brought dishes we can all share. One gal brought a slice of raspberries cake ($4). Another one purchased a box containing pulled pork and sweet potato fries ($6). I brought half a loaf of olive bread ($3) and two slabs of butter (0.25 cents each). The gal who saved our seats brought a bag of purple tortilla chips. Under $15, we shared a delicious meal and talked about how our month went. This Whole Foods market has an amazing window view of Lower East Side. Also, the food court area is always clean. While chatting with my friends, I noticed people typing on their laptops, sipping coffee or just enjoying the view while munching on their grubs.Come here, if you want a place to hang out with your friends.
As anonymous employee currently working here daily I see so much nonsense that definitely wouldnt fly if we had a different management team. I mean lots of team members really suck at their jobs. And no Im not saying Im perfect but when I first started I could recall the most important thing is customer service. And plenty of these new hires and old employees definitely dont have that.Just the other day we had plenty of cashiers (finally thats rare) also I understand its the summer so the company is cutting hours. But anyway we had plenty of cashiers but yet we had a long line. Hmm I wonder why...maybe because for every two cashiers you pass theyre talking about their business out loud in front of the customers. Not only that they are taking forever to call the next customer because theyre so caught up in their phones (either under the register near the bistro bags or in their apron) something to think about. They either playing Pokémon Go or just normally checking a text like they cant live without their phones. People are so caught up in technology that it distracts them on whats really going on around them.
Too many rude people in a small area. I have never seen a group of people that will just bump you out the way without an excuse me to let you know they are coming. I was raised to have basic manners, the more I wander into higher income neighborhoods, the more rudeness I start to experience. The store itself is just that, a store. They sell products and I buy products. Im not really expecting anything more than for them to have items in stock.
Whole Foods and Wegmans. The ONLY places one should shop for there groceries at. Whole Foods is pricey but you do get what you pay for there. Theyve got a large selection of organic items for pretty much anything youre looking for e.g. produce, frozen entrees, even soapsThe food here isnt half bad either. I think Wegmans food overall is better and cheaper than While Foods but its not bad. Again, this portion is solely on the dining in portion of the store that I think Wegmans is better.
I LOVE ALL THE WHOLE FOODS STORES BUT THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR IS A MESS. EMPLOYEES SPECIALLY AT THE REGISTER ARENT GREAT AT ALL (SOME OF THEM). THE STORE IS ALWAYS CROWDED AND CIRCULATION IS SPECIALLY TERRIBLE. The selection of food it isnt as great as the Columbus Circle store. And to honest in Miami they make better job with the crowd
Yesterday I bought 3 pounds Lamb Shldr Chop around 7 pm and I asked if it was fresh and the employee said yes. I got home around 8 and I put it in the fridge. Today I opened the bag to cook it, I found it smells, also some pieces their color have been changed to purple. I dont recommend this place for meat at all. I throw the whole thing in the garbage because I live im Long Island. Its not worth it to get to the city for 30 dollars.
Poor customer service - wish there was a trader joes nearby...Came here in the morning when it was not busy, and maybe it was just this particular cashier, but I brought my own bags and after I placed them on the counter, she just looked at me and then proceeded to watch me while I packed all of the groceries myself. She then asked me if I needed another bag because apparently I wasnt doing it fast enough. I dont mind packing my own groceries but the poor attitude of the cashier was unnecessarily unpleasant.
I have mixed feelings about this place, on one hand they have great food and now better prices due to the amazon takeover, but on the other hand Im always left on edge by the staff. No one is ever professional or courteous, and I find myself constantly wishing I had never gone back...
I ordered catering for a school event in October and everything arrived fresh and on time. But I havent been able to get a receipt despite calling repeatedly and sending multiple emails. Now their phone number redirects to the 87th st location. I live out in Queens or else I would have stopped by in person to sort out this problem.

2022-07-16The service here was exceptionally poor. When I was in line to check out, there was 1 cashier working and 4 hanging out and chit chatting with each other. Finally they disbanded and Endy rang me up. She packed my grocery bag completely haphazardly - it looked like a child had thrown everything in there at random, so that items were hanging out the sides and about to spill over the top. I had to remove everything and repack it myself so that I could carry my groceries home. This was in stark contrast to the last time I was at Trader Joe’s and the cashier packed my bag with the utmost care and efficiency.

2022-04-24My significant other and I had a negative experience shopping here on 4/24/2022.When we entered the store, there were no available carts at the entrance. We typically carry groceries in our own bags, so this was no big deal. However, right after we self-checked out and as were about to leave the store, a non-masked worker, who was literally standing behind us the whole time during the checkout process, instructed us to put away a cart we didnt use (because there were no carts to begin with). Put away your cart were the exact words that were spoken to us. I refused and my other half explained that the cart was not ours. All the worker did was repeat his instructions several times in reply. Thus, my significant other obeyed the workers order. I had to seriously bite my tongue today. This is probably an isolated incident, but it has made me wonder why we dont just go to the TraderJoes thats closer to us.

2022-06-16This was the worst Whole Foods salad bar I have ever seen. There was no lettuce and when I asked for some it was big deal and the brought out a tray of wilted and soggy lettuce. Almost inedible. Staff was less than helpful. Would never come to this one again.

2022-04-11This Whole Foods is like any other. My only complaint is that their seafood section is located right at the entrance, so the first and only thing you smell when you walk in, is fish. And its quite offensive.

2022-01-21I love this store! Theres a good variety of items offered, although some are out of stock...maybe due to delivery problems. Also, the line check-out system needs to be redone! Two lines right next to each other is causing confusion for many people, and it is also blocking an aisle. Still, I love your store!
