Staff members are friendly, attentive and helpful...especially the Asian lady at the cash in the front. Food is excellent. I often order the spicy tuna roll but the large succulent ribs are definitely delicious and so is the shrimp salad, the pad thai and everything else. Parking is super easy.
Glad to have found a place to sit down and have a nice dinner on a holiday like Christmas day. It was a gift finding it open. Customer distance is being respected. Food was promptly served. Good selection of wines and spirits if you want. Very popular. Phone ringing was off the hook for delivery orders. I had general tsos shrimp which was delicious. Spicy with Peppers so check with server if you dont want spicy. Will come back to try other dishes.
I normally don’t eat from restaurants with a rating below 4.6. However, I was in the area and decided to try the General Gso chicken since one commenter said it was the best he’s ever had. My take: BEST GENERAL GSO I’VE EVER HAD!!! The flavors are pure and out of this world. I didn’t experience dine-in and ordered to go. I’ll try sesame chicken next time.
This place used to be excellent. Maybe new management? Food was atrocious. Flat Diet Coke. Wonton soup was cold and tasteless. Edemame was soft and mushy. Sushi was horrible. I hate when sushi places put lettuce in their sushi. The fried whatever was inside the roll was scary to look at. The fried rice was literally white rice with some vegetables. The menus were old, ripped and dirty. The tables were sticky. The floors need a major sanding and re-painting. I’d recommend this place to no one.
Good place. We order food for delivery from there all the time. Usually it takes 15 minutes what is very quick if you hungry. Love that they have our profile with phone number & address what help to make a phone order Easier. But l wish they can remember that we don’t like to have nothing extra like sauces, sticks, forks, cookies 🍪 in our orders. Good place to eat anyway.
Poor costumer service!!!!Please donot waste your time and money.I have been going to wild ginger for so long now..this is our time at this location.Food was awful... Red thai curry was all dry. When asked for more gravy..2 waiters ignored and said RVC location is under different management.I thought Wild Ginger was Wild Ginger.Poor poor poor food and service! The place was not even crowded!!
Food and drinks are good. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous. Parking, which other areas of Great Neck are limited are numerous as its in a shopping plaza. The Asian cuisine they serve is tasty, but not exciting. For the more adventurous eaters, there are better choices, but the dishes we ate were all done well.
I came here for dinner with a party of 10 and every single one of us left happy and stuffed! If you like seafood in particular, you will love this place. I highly recommend getting a dish with shrimp in it: the shrimp are huge and perfectly cooked. I had a dish with shrimp, scallops, and lobster tail in it. I couldn’t believe how much seafood was included in the dish, especially considering the very reasonable price.
We went to Wild Ginger for my birthday last night. It was a total of 6 of us. We have been here several times in the past. There seems to be less Thai food on the menu than I remembered. Overall, the food was good. It was tasty. However the service lacking. The waiter kept forgetting our rice and a fork. My cousin sat with her meal in front of her for several minutes unable to eat it, because she did not have a fork. At the end of the meal the waiter told us how much tip to give him. He said it with a laugh, so we took it as a joke and laughed too. I thought that was pretty low class but I brushed it off as a joke. We paid the bill and left a tip we thought was appropriate. Our tip was more than the recommended. The waiter then asked for more tip. I was dumbfounded. I couldnt believe he was demanding more tip from us. Hell no. We did not give it to him. We did not think he deserved a bigger tip. We refuse to be bullied by him. We would never go back to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone else. I have never experienced such rude and low class behavior from a waiter, ever!!!!!
Nice place to go and eat, great location with a good feel and nice, thematic decor. Food was good and prices werent unreasonable. Portion size was also pretty good, I was full at the end, but not stuffed. Pad Thai had a lot of flavor and I absolutely recommend you ask for any food here extra spicy, as they generally keep all dishes on the milder side.
The food was good. Staff was friendly. It wasnt crowded but my waiter had a very large party so when he was busy another waiter checked on us and got our left overs ready to go. I thought that was really nice. The menu isnt as extensive as Id like but you can certainly find something good.Ill go back.
I had coconut curry for lunch the other day. It was awful! They are cutting back too much on so many of the ingredients they used to have in this curry dish that the taste and the quality of this dish are suffering big time. It is too much sugar and grease and too little coconut and curry. The bill for the dish (with chicken) was charged three dollars more than what it should have been. They corrected it but without any apology. The waiter needs to be trained professional mannerism. We used to love this restaurant and came here often until a few years ago. What happened? Why such a decline in quality of food and service? We will not be coming here again any time soon. Thats for sure. Cant recommend it.
I have only sat down at this place once and when I did I was acceptable. I always order from this place. I mean all the time. And when I do I get a very large portion. But that one time when I sat down there it seemed as if the portion was much smaller. As a matter of fact, I just ordered from this place and I ordered beef teriakyi. And they call me back to tell me that they have no more. I mean seriously. But I take it easily and just order the sesame chicken. But I really love their food it tastes really good. I would definitely recommend this place highly to order from and sit down at.
This site is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I I need a superb supper, this place comes first to my head. superb and diverse food and a rich menu.trained staff, and great spirit. Not less important, the expence is fair. I praise this spot with no hesitation.
This place has the best General Tsos Chicken Ive eaten in my entire life (breaded sesame chicken is also perfect). Miso soup, fantastic, dumplings - heaven, stir fry selection - amazing. Service is friendly and responsive, but not overwhelming. The interior of the restaurant is really nice. It is also not expensive, and me and my girl can go there once or twice a month without spending a fortune.
We went for lunch last Saturday. The food was good and the prices are fair but the service was very slow. Our server disappeared after taking our order never to be seen again. There was no manager looking after the floor. It could have gotten another star if someone would have just come over to us and checked on us as we needed refillls on beverages that we were never able to order. I dont think we will going back.
The quality of food was good but the service was mediocre. The staff was a little rude as well. I was asked if we will be ordering soon and to get the order in before 10 oclock when the kitchen closes and it was only 7:15 p.m. I found that rude It also took on long time to get a refill on my drink I had already finished eating when the waiter came to ask if everything was OK. Good food though
Wild Gingers menu has been heading downhill over the years. The Thai selection is getting smaller and smaller, and the taste of their food is getting weirder and weirder. They are super fast when preparing food for take-out but when dining in, they seem to forget a lot of things. The mix of Chinese, Japanese and Thai food items may be too broad and stretching the abilities of the cooks there. Because nothing is stellar there, nothing stands out... like eating at some buffets. Everything starts just tasting so-so. But as there are not that many options for Asian cuisine in Great Neck so I guess they will still be able to stay in business.
Terrible service. The waiter kept forgetting the cocktail I had asked for about 3 times. We ended up ordering about 4 appetizers and the waiter decided to move one of the order of appetizers to the main course because he forgot to order it with the rest of our appetizers. Also My wife ended up slipping on her way back from the bathroom because it was slippery by the bar with no sign provided and she fell pretty bad. And the last straw was that the waiter demanded we leave him a big tip after the horrible service he provided because 24$ wasnt enough.
Came in today and all I can say is “How do you BEG for tip and did a poor job as a server?” I wish I knew the waitresses name, but she sucked big time. Not to sound racist or anything because I’m not but she was the Asian lady with the ponytail; that’s how I can remember her. I watched her as she went from table to table with a nonchalant “I’m only doing this for my tips” attitude. She’s probably one of the reasons why the restaurant has the rating it does. She needs to see the door fast so we can enjoy our food without her and her attitude. The food is DELICIOUS nonetheless.
At 6pm, on a Sunday night, in such a roomy restaurant, my friend and I entered a nearly vacant Wild Ginger. We were seated by a waitress immediately adjacent to an elderly couple. Awk. What about that other- nope, she was adamant we sit at the one she pointed out..The food was okay - pretty good actually (flavorful & well-cooked). We ordered the Garlic Shrimp and a Beef dish, which came with a small scoop of rice on the side. But what we ate amounted to $40. kinda pricey, no? They were medium sized plates of food.Service wasnt the friendliest (aka they were pretty cold). They dont speak English well either. Looking around, I think my friend and I were the only Asian customers in the entire restaurant (even with more ppl who had rolled on in). There are no chopsticks provided. and when we asked for hot tea, we were served hot water in glass cups normally used for milkshakes err... The place is a tad odd...
I dont want to give this place any stars!!! An absolutely horrible establishment! My friend paid for his food over the phone then I get there and they told me he hadnt paid for his food.. turns out my friend indeed had paid before so now they charged us twice and on top of that it was two different prices!! How could it be the same meal but different prices?! Then I bring my friend his food and of course its the wrong order!!! They blamed it on me for grabbing the bags and leaving in a hurry but how was I in a hurry if I had to pay for the food that you already charged my friemd for?! Never going here again!!!!
Good atmosphere for conversation. No overbearing noise. Soup and avocado salad or good only complaint might be that when I asked soup to be brought with everybodys food and the waiter brought it out early you seem to have a disgruntled attitude when asked to bring it back with everybody Else s overall a nice experience
Very bad service. I order from there, all hungry and eager, and i live barely 10 mins away. They were 40 mins late, I called them three times for them to tell me the order was 5 mins away and they didnt even apologize. When I finally received it, one of my order was missing. Once again I call them and they told me that is was there, I ended up picking it up. It took me over 2 hours to finally eat.. thanks..... PS , they arent even that good..
Variety of dishes, but to me it tasted like generic asian-inspired food. This restaurant came up on a google search for Thai food, but the cuisine is far from Thai, and is hardly authentic Chinese either, which is surprising given the increasingly asian influence of Great Neck. I had the duck dumplings, duck fajitas, and chicken and broccoli. All were well cooked (e.g. broccoli was firm, not flaccid or drowned in sauce), but lacked flavor.Pros- good atmosphere, friendly staff, variety of dishesCons- uninspiring flavor and not authentic

2022-04-09Great restaurant. Lovely people. Amazing service. Sushi good. I really enjoyed my time here at Wild Ginger in Great Neck, Long Island. It was splendid. The food however was my least favorite thing, I got something sweet, which was on me. The sushi however was good. There’s a huge parking lot available and the restaurant is pretty nice in the inside. I had a good time.

2022-03-25Well, this is not an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant. They advertise Hong Kong style dim sum, but in reality it is frozen microwave dim sum, and it is the cheapest frozen dim sum. Please see the difference in the poster and the actual Siumai. My salmon has a thick layer of salty sauce on it, and thats just wrong. If you dont know what authentic Hong Kong food are, then it is just a bad restaurant. But now it is a bad restaurant pretending to be something else. Will avoid after.

2021-08-08The food here is really good, especially for the price. Ive come here on many occasions for lunch and dinner. I usually give the food a 5/5, but yesterdays food was a little subpar compared to the normal. As usual, the entrees were great; however, the appetizers and rolls were not that good. Quite possible they were having am off day, so I still highly recommend.

2021-11-12This is my local go to wherever I want Asian Fusion and it satisfies everyone in the group. Best dish is the Chilean Sea Bass as always. The favorite in my clan. This visit, I opted for sushi and enjoyed the meal. Portion was satisfying as it was the sushi sashimi combo. Green Tea is great and I liked the Fig and Lychee Martini I got. Great cocktails here every time. Sadly during Covid they are not as busy as before but pre-covid, it was packed! Do patronize your local restaurants if you want them to succeed.

2022-03-09Listen ive been coming to wild ginger for about 3 years now. The location at Rockville center is much better . If i cant get there I go to the one in great neck which is much different. I ordered sesame chicken and beef lo mein. I was eating my lunch in my car and came across a bandaid n I discovered it whilst eating the chicken . I was not going to post anything but im still nauseous just thinking about that i might have ate some one elses blood. Ive realized that day when comjng in the restaurant my throat felt itchy and i kept coughing a lot as if i couldnt breathe . This place smelt of mold as well. When i confronted the cashier that said their is no manager managing the restaurant and they dont have a manager she only gave me half of my money back and offered me free food . I wanted all my money back . I threw up when i got home . She didnt give me all my money until i told her i was going to report this . Anyway worst experience at a restaurant ever . Worse then fast food . I wont eating out for a very long time after this .

2021-11-02I’ve been to this restaurant several times and have ordered many times as well. Sadly, the quality of food with every order is getting worse but I never bothered to write a review until now. I ordered Singapore thin noodles with vegetables and chicken and broccoli, for appetizer I’ve got chicken satay. Appetizer was burned on the outside, noodles were dry and cold like someone’s left over from yesterday. Vegetables in the noodle were dry and tasteless. Broccoli wasn’t washed properly so I could feel the sand or small rocks in between my teeth. Very disappointed with this order and this isn’t the first time. I’m not going back there and not ordering anything anymore. :(

2022-05-01Several dishes stand out compared to other Thai places Ive been to - the seafood bowl and duck selections are excellent. They also have sushi. Atmosphere - five stars, level of noise - minimal, privacy - yes. Ability to hear each other - five stars. Staff attentiveness - five as well. Ive been there several times and will be back again.

2022-06-02My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal—we kept saying it was the best meal we’ve had in awhile! The sesame chicken was the best we’ve ever had, and the Philadelphia & Great Neck roll were super fresh and soft. Nice job Wild Ginger!
