Nice bar, good drinks, friendly, mindful staff. Had two cocktails and beef tartar for 66 incl. Tips. One cocktail is 17. Beef tartar is 18. Prices drop during happy hour! 3-6pm. Beef tartar was ok. Portion on the bigger side with generous amount of thinly sliced dark bread. Although I love dark break I would have preferred this dish with white toast bread and butter, the meat less minced and seasoned (strong taste of vinegar, oregano). Views are nice too!
I have eaten here for no less than 5 times already. Each time, the service, food and setting were all great. The food was fresh and delicious, and the wines were fine and reasonably priced. The only suggestion for improvement is that there could be more seasonal food choices. After eating here for a while, I have tried pretty much everything on the menu.
It’s nice that Nordstrom has their own restaurant. You can shop then eat or eat then shop, it’s a win win. Good food at reasonable prices with excellent service. We got the prefix and it was nice. The space is luxe and service is attentive. Cool happy hour, the fried polenta fritters are amazing!
Booked a last minute business lunch. Our group was seated in a quiet corner, had attentive and friendly service, and the food was excellent. Note that plates are tapas style sized, good for sharing. The pasta dishes are lush and al dente, with a small manageable portion. One plate and one pasta dish would make you full. (Our group underordered but we were also trying to not be too bougie.) The tables overlook 57th St and Broadway, so you get some good people watching in on a good day. The bar is very long and inviting for a slow cocktail brunch event. Wolf is trendy/minimalist, delicious, and youll completely forget youre in a department store.
I wanted my first review this year to be about the fantastic dining experience that my husband and I had during our end of 2019 date, at Wolf. Eversince I heard about the upcoming collaboration with Chef Ethan Stowell, a really celebrated and James Beard multiple nominee from Seattle with the Nordstrom NYC flagship store, Ive bookmarked it and waited for the right occasion to try it.First off, we were welcomed warmly and led to a table by the window, which is always my preference. I always like having some sort of a nice view. I forgot the name of our server but she was great, knowledgeable, and attentive. We started off with brut rose for me and a good Cabernet Sauvignon for him.We planned ahead and decided we would have their Prime Burger for appetizers. They use beechers cheese and it was just delicious. Easily one of my favorite burgers in the city now. We definitely knew we wanted to try their pasta and it was difficult to choose with so many wonderful options. Ultimately, we decided on Spaghetti with Uni butter for me (Heavenly!!) and Paccheri with Prawns for the hubby. Both excellent! We of course just had to have desserts given the choices were all delectable so we tried their Lemon Zeppole with chocolate dipping sauce. This is the only thing that didnt really live up to our expectations. Our bar for this is still Don Angie, and it holds such a special place in our hearts too given it was served during our wedding reception there. The server went out of her way and brought us the malted chocolate budino, which was wonderful. I think they could use some additions and would love to see an improved dessert menu.Overall, worth the money and even if youre not necessarily shopping at Nordstrom (we were, so it just makes it very convenient too!), this restaurant is worth the dining experience. Would love to come back! ✨
What a lucky find this place was. We needed somewhere close to our hotel that could accommodate a group and provide great food to celebrate a birthday. This exceeded any and all expectations. Our waiter was phenomenal and very friendly. The menu is concise and easy to digest. The food is as good or better than any fine dining Italian I’ve had in NYC or Las Vegas where we live. If you’re in the area do yourself a favor and give “Wolf” a go! You won’t regret it.
Dinner was fantastic....all 4 pasta dishes we tried were delicious. Wine choices were good. Enjoyed 3 of the desserts and couldnt decide on our favourite as all very tasty.. doughnuts, cheesecake, and bondino. Staff are attentive, friendly, and professional. We loved it. Highly recommend!
The food was okay, not as good as I was expecting based on other reviews. The ambiance was nice and its definitely a trendy spot, interesting location but very nice. Service was fine they messed up our dish and instead of clearing the side dish that went with it we had to eat that cold. The side dish was chicken and extremely dry, was not impressed. The pasta was pretty good. Buratta was probably the best thing we had, the desert was very disappointing.
Let me start by saying some of the best food I’ve ever had, but sadly will not return due to terrible service. Beware that if you book a reservation for two they are going to tell you that they will have to seat you at the bar! All tables are booked by other guests is there excuse, but we had a reservation for a table. This is very much them just trying to maximize profits and fill tables with larger parties. We overhead this from several couples and nobody was thrilled. Surprisingly after hearing all tables where full a table magically appeared after voicing our displeasure. From there the service just went downhill. Saw our server at the start of the meal and the end. Nobody ever offered to take a drink refill order and service just seemed nonexistent. Very sad, because the food was amazing!
The restaurant is located inside the shopping mall on the second floor. The view from there is just amazing and so is the quality of the food and the staff. It is a bit expensive but thats definately worth it.Best dining experience Ive had yet!Extra credits for the friendly and professional staff.
Im not sure what I expected eating at a department store (even Nordstom), but I was so much more than pleasantly surprised. The hostess was so welcoming the second we stepped off the elevator. COVID precautions were taken (temp taken, masks worn, etc) but it didnt feel like a sterile environment. She was warm and welcoming. We got little paper bags for our masks so when we were seated, we didnt have to put them on the table, we could put them in a clean little bag. I thought that was a nice touch.Al was our server and was very attentive from the start. He pointed us in the direction of the QR codes at the table so we didnt have to touch menus. Eric, the manager, also made sure we were comfortable at our table and had what we needed so far. We had such a lovely view, and the service from everyone there was really over the top without being over done. You can tell that service like this is a top-down priority. If management is poor, the waitstaff and servers will be miserable. This was NOT the case here.Drinks...I had a margarita and my friend had a martini. Both drinks came out quickly and were delish. Im picky about my tequila and even though I didnt specify brand, I could tell they used a decent bottle and didnt use a mix. Everything so far was on point. For appetizers we share three small plates, which was really too much for the two of us but we couldnt narrow it down to just two. We had the Bourke Street Bakery Baguette, the burrata and an asparagus dish that was recommended by Eric. We sat and enjoyed our drinks and apps and were not rushed, but Al was sure to check on us periodically to make sure we had what we needed.Once we were ready to order dinner, once again we couldnt decide what to order so we ordered the Prime Burger and Paccheri and split them. One thing that Eric said that stuck with me was that the chef takes great care to put dishes together with a purpose, with all of the flavors combined thoughtfully and with reason. He urged us not to disqualify anything on the menu because we didnt like onions or something, but to trust the chef and his magic. He wasnt wrong. The flavors of both dishes melded perfectly with each other. The burger was cooked perfectly to our taste. While Im not usually one to order aioli on my burger because most places over do it, this was done with perfect balance. The Paccheri was wonderful as well. The prawns were cooked nicely and the pasta was cooked al dente. I had no idea what gremolata was before I sat down, but Im glad I found out. It was the kind of night where you didnt want to stop eating because it all tasted so good.As if all of that wasnt enough to make us stop, we couldnt decide between two deserts and asked Al and Eric to choose for us. We ended up with BOTH the Milk Chocolate Budino and the Cheesecake. The budino wasnt like anything else Ive ever tasted and it had these little pearls of heaven layered under the whipped cream. Think an elevated, sophisticated version of the chocolate crunchy things in an ice cream cake. YUM!All in all, Id say our night was perfect. The service, which can ruin the best meal, was great. The food was amazing and drinks were well balanced. Thank you to everyone who made a weeknight dinner feel like a special occasion!
They are back!!! Nice to sit down and dine once again at this quiet spot inside Nordstroms NYC. What can be more pleasant and relaxing to shop and just steps away get a delicious taste of Italian fare prepared with a Northwestern flair.Never disappointed by what finds its way to the table. Great service! Time to have the best New York has to offer for shopping and dining all in one place.
I went to an event at Wolf and would not normally consider writing a review based solely upon the food and service at the event, but I have to make an exception here. I tried so many different foods at an American Express sponsored event here, I think I have some idea of what Chef Ethan Stowells kitchen can turn out and it was all superb.I really enjoyed the excellently seasoned prime rib. Very rare and superbly seasoned. There was also some excellent, tender (I think it may be been poached) salmon that had a wonderful mouthfeel and taste.Excellent fingerling potatoes. Same for the brussels sprouts. The squash (or at least that is what it seemed like) was sublime. Many other excellent treats. Superb chocolates too. Great cookies, although I far preferred the double chocolate to the chocolate chip, the snickerdoodle or the shortbread, but I am a chocoholic. On top of that the service was just so friendly and helpful. I realize that everyone must have been on their best behavior given this was a special event, but it just seemed as if everyone really cared.I hope to get back there sometime soon to taste a regular meal there and might update my review accordingly.

2022-04-25Great spot located on the second floor of Womens shoe department in Nordstorm. Very fresh and minimalistic dining area with sleek decor and furniture.Food was good, portions were on a smaller side, prices were reasonable. Definitely a good place to test when in the area.

2022-01-29Im so glad I found this hidden gem inside of a department store located on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom. The place is very trendy design with floor to ceiling windows, they have two types of seat settings with window seats with street view, and counter seating facing bar or open kitchen. The service is perfect our waiter was super nice to take care of us.We are here for the restaurant week menu. Its $39 dinner for three courses meal, with 3 items to choose from appetizer and main, and two dessert options. The grilled octopus is a must, so delicious. The cod fish seared perfectly and dessert is what you are dying for. The best surprise is their bread, its not free bread like most Italian restaurants they dont offer bread at the beginning. But for $8 you get their bread still warm on your table, with homemade butter and garlic they are just divine, totally can eat that all day.If not for restaurant week, I would still come back, perfect for date night.

2022-01-03This is the only place in New York where Id like to willingly pay a large amount of tip. Great food, convenient atmosphere, above all very pleasing service. Andrew made me and my wife feel very much delighted on the first day of 2022! Thanks!

2022-05-12Wow! The happy hour menu is from 3-6 throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar. They had an 8 dollar glass of Barbera which was great. The pastas on the menu were fantastic, cacio e pepe and a sausage in red sauce. We god the polenta fritters and a yummy dessert. Serraphina was so pleasant and attentive, she’s a fantastic waitress! This treasure on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom is truly wonderful.

2022-03-07Enjoyed a lovely meal here… shared the small plates and pasta with my friend… dessert too! The burrata and polenta plates were pretty good… the potato gnocchi was perfect… it is the softest gnocchi I have had… plus the sauce was good. The lemon doughnuts dessert was a big disappointment though… nothing lemony about it. I would just take it out of the menu. Not a great way to end the experience. I give it 4 stars only because of this!

2022-05-02The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom. I ordered the paccheri pasta dish. Nice texture, delightful flavor, nice surprise with the citrus zest and bit of spice... However is was a tad too salty. And for a shrimp dish I was disappointed at the bite sized chopped shrimp pieces. The amount probably equated to 3 large shrimp. The ambiance is classy, views are nice, and service was very good.

2021-12-29The Nordstrom flagship store is amazing! One of the reasons is Wolf. I’m a Seattle native and love that Nordstrom chose to bring amazing local chefs to the Big Apple. Wolf is consistently good - we’ve never had a bad experience. The food is delicious, the pasta is always perfectly prepared and I love the Salumi - from Anthony Bourdain’s favorite Seattle deli. Also, the weekday happy hour is a fantastic deal!

2021-11-06Fantastic food, service, and ambiance. We ordered the Cabernet, duck egg and burrata appetizers, black truffle ravioli, and the special of the night - ribeye steak. All were wonderful and cooked to perfection.
