Wolffs Biergarten in other cities:
Terrible service, received the wrong order and asked for another one, the waitress replied now I have to throw away and waste this one. When I received my order again she dropped it on the table and told me to order it myself next time. I dont appreciate the treatment I received on 12/3/21. I used my card to pay for my familys meal, which was $80 for food and $40 for drinks, so I think I shouldve been treated like a customer. Thanks.
Nice selection of beer! Dog friendly! They have large roll-up doors to let in the air on nice days.We tried the bratwurst and chedarwurst, with a pretzel sticks appetizer. The buns on the worst were really good! The pretzels were also nice with the dipping sauces. It was quiet when we visited. The bartender and kitchen staff where friendly, and didnt interact much with us at the table
I used to love this bar, but the current bouncer is extremely rude to women. I understand that there are stricter rules due to COVID-19, but the behavior that my friends and I have experienced is unacceptable. He frequently screams inappropriate remarks at customers when they have not been rude in the slightest. Additionally, one of the bartenders often makes obscene comments to young women, who are largely college students. These verbally threatening actions need to stop if the bar wants to maintain its female customers.
Awesome place! Brats and sides are great, and they have a great selection of authentic German beers. Rustic atmosphere with peanut shells on the floor. Great place to bring a dog on the patio, as well! The only thing I could hold against them is their Schleswig-Holstein flag was upside down. 😊
Mediocre at best. Beer is good but dont get food here. Took about 30 minutes to get food. The tomato soup tasted like ketchup from a microwave. Wurst sausages were not bad and so were the French fries. Was here on a Friday night and wasnt even that busy but there was only one person in the kitchen.
Awesome beer! Lots of Bavarian and European brands. Nice sturdy wooden tables with lots of games. Darts, table shuffleboard, giant Jenga, and pinball. They even allow dogs! They are extremely accommodating to our little critters and have a water bowl and treats available. Just have to watch out for peanuts on the floor!
Nice atmosphere family friendly I liked it. It is a sports bar and it served German and American food. They had a special the night I went for a bourbon blueberry chicken wing. They were pretty good. We also ordered potato pancakes which were good and soft pretzel sticks with chocolate ganache and raspberry sauce. We will definitely visit again without the kids.
Great selection of German and other beers served well. This manages to be a sports bar, a low-key social gathering spot, and a top-notch (mostly German) beer bar, all wrapped up in one. The only downside: the food situation is a little touch-and go, with weird hours and unexpected closures. But theres always peanuts.
Beers are fantastic. Bar tenders are good. However they are not set up on the food side for mare than a dozen customers at a time. Our lunch arrived cold after waiting nearly an hour. Several in our party had boneless wings and said they were cold and over fried. One guy in the kitchen both cooking and serving is not cutting it.
Love the atmosphere and mostly kid friendly.... a bit disappointed on mothers day this year though. Ended up in Schenectady instead of Albany and was very disappointed that the menu had changed and no longer offer much as far as German food goes, and those apple strudel pancakes!. They were also out of orange juice and a couple of ciders. The food service was subpar, had to ask for utensils, condiments, napkins, etc.... sandwiches served on burger buns.... well go back, but not for food☹
Stopped by with our kids after a hike; amazing beer selection and great pub style food options (limited options: sausage, waffles, fries). We ordered the sausage sampler and there was more than enough for all of us to snack on. Just an FYI for potential patrons, you order your food when you walk in and they bring to the table (not a full menu with a server taking your order). Definitely worth a visit!
Great atmosphere. Love the outdoor/indoor feel. Didnt love when I tried to order food for my family and the cook was waaaay more interested in his phone, said he was out of almost everything I tried to order and then when I canceled what I did order....his face lit up like Christmas morning.....its friday at 630pm...prime time to eat out..please stock up your kitchen and hire staff who WANT to be there...
Great selection of beers and authentic-feeling biergarten. nice outsde area for good weather days.Need to improve the food. limited selection and overpriced for what you get.I would go more often and have work get-togethers if the food was better since I dont want to drink beer here then go somewhere else for dinner.
Not impressed. Literally, no table service. No menu. Kitchen cook was snarky when she forgot item I ordered. Patrons around us were loud and drunk from a happy bday 21 party. Folks out front blazed up a joint with smoke floating into dining area. Food quality was moderate but poorly prepared. Never ever returning.
This was horrible, bad service all around. Whether food or beer, beer was good, food was good. Illusion of selection though, we tried ordering several things off the beer and food menu only to be told that they are discontinued and to order something else. 45 minute wait for a brat, 10 minutes for a beer even though no one else was ordering. Will only come back to watch soccer or maybe for Octoberfest
Grate place trivia night on Thursdays are so much fun lots of good beer and food is pretty good. It does take a bit to get out but its worth ithe wait there are usally only 2 people in the kitchen so give them a break lets be honestt you got to the bar for the beer anyway
I use to love Wolffs Biergarten. The beer selection is still amazing but the food has gone downhill. We ordered pretzels and received them overcooked 25 min later with awful beer cheese. We ordered a sausage plate and the sausage looked like it was deep-fried with an awful taste.
Very fun, love the in-shell peanuts to munch on and make a mess with. Went once so far, with my housemate. It was quieter than their Albany counterpart, but it might have been the newness or the weekday late hour. Servers when I was there were lovely, attentive, funny. One of them turned out to be the son of a colleague. Sam, the manager, is a terrific guy from England -- he and I met when he was in Albany, and liked each other on first exchange. Tried a thing called a Pickle Back Shot, which I was certain Id hate -- not being a shot drinker, for one thing -- but loved! A shot of Jamesons whisky followed by a shot of pickle juice. Weirdly tasty. One was plenty for me, though! Plan to go back now and again. I hope, hope, hope it flourishes.
Greeted by multiple cash only and peanut warning signs, I entered the doors of the Biergarten in Schenectady. Upon entering the quaint little bar on Erie Boulevard I was overwhelmed by the smells of freshly fried schnitzel and german sausages cooking on the grill. As I walked up to the bar I was greeted by a kind man who seemed to be a victim of the Benjamin Button disease. He claimed to be 40 but looked not a day older than 22. This mans name was Steven Rose. He offered me a liter of Hofbräu- one of Germanys finest beers. I watched as he masterfully poured the golden liquid straight from the tap into my handcrafted locally blown glass mug. I took the first sip and I felt the serenity and calm of the amber liquid wash over my body and fill me with joy and love and happiness.I then followed my nose until I reached the kitchen counter. I was greeted by a loud and boisterous young Mexican girl who not only took my order but also cooked my sandwich to perfection. The insides were juicy and delicious while the outer layer was cooked to a perfect degree of crispness. It was complemented by fries that had been tossed in the most delicious blend of seasoning. I was offered ketchup but immediately declined so as not to taint the spectacular flavor profile given to the fries by the gods of everything culinary.I was in bliss. The Biergarten was everything I had dreamed of and more. I immediately phoned my lawyer and asked him to edit my entire family out of my will and leave everything in my estate solely to Steven and his team at the Biergarten. If youre in the Schenectady area look no further than Erie Boulevard for the best food and beer in town!
We got a gift card for Christmas so went to use it. All was fine till we got food apparently where you order food you cant use gift cards. We got the pretzels with cheese. The pretzels were burned with no salt and the cheese looked like Apple sauce. We brought it back and form the spicy mustard which wasnt spicy at all.
I do love Wolffs for thier food and drinks. However I have had some pretty nasty bartenders while visiting. I even have seen them cheat on trivia nights to help their friends. Now everytime I go I dont sit at the bar, just so I wont be hit on or have to listen to the slander from the workers.
This is a REAL Biergarten! A VERY accurate recreation of what youll find in Munich. The beer selection is authentic, right down to the Hefeweizen and glassware. I may have missed it, but the only thing that was missing were the pickled herring sandwiches, and I have a feeling there werent too many people missing them!
BRING CASHOtherwise they have an atm. Partially why missing a star. It’s always a good time at Biergarten. If you say the “Wolf’s” before “Biergarten”, you sound ignorant, and people probably think you like martinis. Great selection of beer. If you enjoying jaunting with lads, sipping fine IPAs whilst discussing its flavor profile, then you can do so whilst tossing some shuffleboard. If you enjoy cheap beer and pissing the night away while listening to to drunk union college girls singing at the open night mike, then you can do so as well. They seem have it all.
Here is what I would suggest to make this a 5 star experience.1)More comfortable seating. Offer some ADK chairs around the perimeter or something.2)German Oompah Music should be heard non stop.3)The food could be better. Pork cutlet bun was burnt to a crisp. Potato pancake extremely salty and no sour cream given. German potato salad was more of a shake n bake than a traditional version. $10 for a hotdog without a side is pretty crazy. Go to the Euro Deli in Latham and order the food there to see what I am comparing it to.4) where are the German barmaids in dirndls???
Place sucks. Was completely unwelcoming. Walked in and it was unclear as to wait to be seated or sit anywhere. We walked in and stood around awhile. Bartender looked at us and what looked to be the manager looked at us but said nothing so we just left hungry and confused. 👎
Awesome environment their beer is delicious with great prices you are able to bring dogs to this establishment which is nice especially for the dog lovers out there that bring the dogs everywhere you can stop here for a drink and bring ur pet but all dogs must be on a leash

2022-03-06Great atmosphere, beers, cider. We did not eat, so I cant comment on that. There were several dogs and a pig (we LOVED this). Shuffleboard was fun and it seemed regulation length. Highly recommend!

2021-09-03Really enjoyed the trivia night, and the ambience. Not fancy, but comfortable. Food is order from the pizza place across the road.

2022-03-29Great watering hole, where you can usually find a nice conversation or a space in the sun, all your own. They have tasty fresh peanuts and all of the tasty German (and other) beers one could want. Stop in, grab a giant mug, play some shuffleboard and chill...

2022-02-01Unfortunately they dont serve food here anymore and this is far from a true bier garden. One bartender was constantly knuckle deep in his nose. Thats absolutely disgusting. Plenty of great places in Schenectady to go, this isnt one of them.

2022-05-28Wish theyd bring back food options, though since they never had good vegetarian options before covid Im hoping for a full overhaul. Great place to get a birthday boot! I miss the spaten optimator which also appears to have disappeared during covid times, however they have a great schwarzbier. I also love their patio since Im still nervous about going out during covid times. Their patio will keep me coming back!

2022-04-24The big bald headed white guy that guards the door ruined my night. I was out with a big group of friends, all of whom are white besides me, I am African American. I was picked out of the crowd and denied to be let in. He told my friends it was because my ID was fake and he could tell because we’re in NY, but I am from MASSACHUSETTS. He kicked me out and laughed at me, taunting me asking if I wanted my ID back. Fellow co workers actually apologized to my friends when they went back the next night, confused as to why he singled me out. I DID NOT go back that next night, I will never go back. I don’t know what else it could be other than that was 100% racially motivated, and I am disgusted you could have hired this guy. I was humiliated.

2019-11-10This bar restaurant is literally me in bar restaurant form. German in name, in Schenectady NY somehow, loves soccer college football and beer. It also clearly says UND WURST HAUS on the sign so they definitely have food and the wurst and wings are pretty good. Better wings than 20 North in my opinion since the sauce is lighter and the wings are crispier. If you don’t like the open air feel and peanut shells all over then you’re high maintenance.

2018-10-07I had Merlin Nitro in a size large. I ate the pretzel starter. It was so damn delicious! Then for dinner I ate their impossible burger. It tastes fresh & and taste like a regular burger but possibly better. I had a blast while enjoying the soccer game. Thank for the great atmosphere.
