First time for my 6year old kid and what a disaster. “Coach” have no idea about coaching and leading the team, had all the kids out of control running around. he barely explained the kids about the class. Totally disappointed

My son (7 y/o) is really into soccer. He played in many clubs in Queens, but we found WSC to be by far the most rigorous program. All the coaches are really focused on actually teaching the kids about the game, which means sometimes they come off as harsh - but thats how learning works at this age. They train once a week and play a competitive match each weekend. As early as age 8, coaches keep track of goals and standings, and the teams play play-off matches based on standings. The children play outside on (artificial) grass, which teaches them to adapt to weather conditions like real soccer players. I understand that for parents who only want their kids to get a good exercise and be cheered on that may not be ideal, but for kids who are into the game, this club is great.

In general some parents get mad when the coach yells at their child. Its because they believe in the childs true potential but they are not using it. My coaches yells at me all the time, I know that he is not trying to shun me. It is because he knows what he expects of me and that I need to do better. I have been with him for almost 4 years and he is a father figure to me!

Hope this will help them to improve. Here is what I observed;1. They have good outdoor soccer fields. Kids get real field experience here--------------5 Stars2 . Some of their coaches do not seems to be physically fit themselves. This is required as you want to teach your kids fitness that goes along with Soccer ------------3 Stars3. They are very non-responsive replying customers emails and returning phone calls. -------------1 Star4. They have a lot of kids enrolled so your kids can be exposed to beginners to skilled mates.-----------5 Stars5. They have different levels and there is a growth potential.---------------4 Stars

I signed up my six year old daughter to play her first year of soccer at Woodhaven Soccer Club. This was my experience:1. I was never advised by W.S.C. they didnt have a separate league for girls - and that 98% of the league was made up of boys.2. The coaches assigned to each team were NEVER present during the practices. Teams do not practice alone to grow with one another - all the kids are lumped together with 1 coach to every 20-25 kids. Very unorganized.3. They do not provide referees for ANY of the games. Coaches yell at kids for not listening to the calls but never had a WHISTLE.4. Coaches/league do not call when games are being rescheduled or cancelled.5. Three games were cancelled last season and the league decided to let the kids play all three games the last day. Games were cut shorter and the kids were exhausted.6. The owner is not approachable or a nice person as others have indicated.I spent my hard earned money and figured out quickly thats all this league cares about. My daughter had fun and game day was the best day of the week for our family. We loved watching the kids play soccer. My daughter was asked to play on their travel team several times. Before committing to the travel team, I asked the owner about some of my concerns. I was shocked when he told me I was no longer welcome to bring my child down to play soccer and take my money and go elsewhere. This league cuts corners and collects from the people who are quiet and dont know any better. And when someone speaks up, they are threatened.I would not recommend this league to ANYONE.

This soccer club sucks, my child had to practice in blazing heat till he almost passed out, now they want to kids to practice in the freezing cold, all because they are too cheap to rent a decent gym so the kids can practice indoors and be comfortable in the AC and heat, so he uses the field for free and pockets all the money, does that seem right and the soccer skills they teach the kids totally suck, dont waste your money.
