Choose this place because my husband could get rehab and his dialysis at this facility. He got one dialysis treatment for the week. They had to send him to the hospital to get his dialysis, no reason why was given. He supposed to have 3 times at week! Nurse hung up on me when I asked to many questions. Place is very well kept but extremely disorganized to the point of jeopardizing my husbands health.
My mother almost died in this facility. Do not put anyone you love in this home. The employees are blasé about everything and do not care about their patients. The food was terrible. My mother was left to sit in her feces and urine for hours. Please shut this place down before people die in sad, sad place.
My grandmother was a patient at Workmen’s circle after a knee replacement. The facility is spotless and the staff go above and beyond to accommodate the family and the patients. This was a great experience and I definitely recommend Workmen’s circle. Thank you to the staff especially to the rehabilitation team for taking good care of her!!!!
My father is in there .they are giving him food he cant eat and too small of a portion. They are feeding him dry sandwiches. He has had mold in his room not to mention the poor care they show in this said place. Most of the staff are rude and inciderate to people. He has gotten infections due to lack of proper care in this facility. To be honest your facility needs to be investigated.UPDATE : 2 YEARS later still no improvement. Parent still not being treated right. Parent has lost his leg. Little to no food. Staff members not careing about the patients or family complaints.... Will just push you off on someone else that doesnt careUpdate has made multiple calls to administrator has never called back after number of messages left. Father has tested positive for covid wondering why when hes in a room alone. His stuff has been uncared for either stuff is missing or just thrown in bags. Put father in a room with other covid patents. Would appreciate a call back from administrator. Have been trying to get father out of there and after filling out numerous papers they still havent fulfilled my request.Another updateMy father passed away due to an illness thanks to the lack of concern from most of the staff. My father had stuff stolen from him in this place. From clothes to DVDs to the diamond out of his cross to his tv. Not once has workmans circle called to give condolences never mind compensation for what theyve stole from him. Im pretty sure they didnt even offer a refund for the half of month they have collected for my father to be there. The aids and what not up there very abusive and rude. Please dont let your family stay at this place.
I would give the place a (0) rating if I could, but I obviously cant. I told my brother who chose to go to this facility, cause obviously they over state everything they are about and dont go into reporting there mistreatment of patients while in their care. I told my brother, that if it were me going to this facility I wouldnt go because of so many bad reviews written about this place. First of all the majority of the staff were unprofessional. My brother lasted their ONE DAY ! Before he called our brother to come pick him up or hell leave in an Uber. The room they were going to put him in was filthy. The facility is kept up that way. The T.V. area was also filthy. They fed him a breakfast that was supposed to be hot. It was given to him cold and they dont warm up your food, (they state that thats policy). The last straw was when they were supposed to give him his so call dinner. He woke up to find out that they didnt have dinner for him cause he wasnt on their SO CALLED list. Some male worker sarcastically told him after that incident that they have a sale on sandwiches if he would like. And the administration is also a NO CALL NO SHOW, EVEN ON A WEEK DAY. No one in the administration office picks up the phone. Not the administrator or the assistant administrator. Now I say like so many have said of this place. DONT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS PLACE. THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY OUT FOR YOUR LOVED ONES INSURANCES PAYOUT, that is all. They dont care for human beings.
The experience that I had with Workmens circle staff was wonderful. They were accommodating and attentive. The only complaint that I have is that it is difficult to get the facility member on the phone. Other than that I had a good experience and was able to spend time with my mother.
I absolutely love this rehabilitation center! From the moment I viewed it to bring my mom here Ive enjoyed the energy! Its brighter than other facilities and the presence is always welcoming! The staff both administrative and medical assist and make time for any questions or concerns. The activities are fun and the beauty of the facility is amazing! Fish tanks and water falls, the modern gym is amazing! The mini home is amazing to practice basic skills before going home! I would like to thank the staff who plans the upkeep and decorations because the thought that goes in to the coloring, the paintings, the decor is impeccable and vibrant! Thank you womans circle for making it comforting that when I leave my mom behind I know shes in good hands!
My 91 year old grandfather was a short term resident at Workmen’s Circle in early 2021. The admissions department personally worked with us while grandpa was in the hospital and were with us every step of the way upon his admittance to the rehab. During his stay there the social work department helped and guided us to complete necessary paperwork and arrange for short and long term after care. Grandpa raved about the physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and staff. He said he felt safe and comfortable and he even gained a needed 15 lbs., as he had lost 30 lbs. during his hospital stay. With any experience there can be bumps in the road but the staff worked with our family to rectify them. Grandpa is now safely home, happy to be reunited with his family and dog, and above all, he is healthy and strong. Workmen’s Circle has been a blessing to us...they gave us our grandpa back!
I found the facility above standards for hygienic Covid-19 appearances from floor to ceiling and from the entrance to my fourth floor visitation ward. However, thats brick, mortar and equipment. Im also pleased with staff attentiveness and again, thats specific to the fourth floor east-wing. No place is without minor issues but the immediate staff response to an open refrigerator door in the pantry was prompt and communicative.Excellent efforts,Kojo
Im in their outlatient dialysis unit. The waiting area is tiny considering the have 21 chairs for dialysis. The people are all sitting on top of eschother openly flouting covid distance requirement. Theyre short staffed so its impossible to schedule access a ride pick up or dropping off. I do not recommend this place for outpatients. Its just too crowded and probably violating health department regulations.
Do not send your love ones to workman circle. My mother was neglected, they failed to give her liver medication for two weeks and no one noticed she was lethargic and confused. When I went to visit her she was not speaking and restless . I immediately called the ambulance myself. She was admitted to ICU, if I wasn’t there on time to get her help she would had been in a coma. This place is horrible with patient care. Rating is zero
The staff is professional, courteous and welcoming. The facility is beautifully designed with bright artwork, modern furniture and overall very clean. You can smell the delicious food coming from the dining room throughout the hallways. Most importantly our relative has received excellent care and feels respected.
My experience has always been pleasant when I visit Workman Circle. The front desk guard greets you and is very professional by making sure that you are directed in a timely manner. The staff are very friendly and has always made me feel welcome. There’s always a sense of warmth throughout this facility. The environment is also always clean. Although, I have never had a loved one admitted to this facility, I have visited clients time and time as a part of my job and my clients has never expressed anything negative about their stay and we’re always clean when I visited them. Each visit has always been the same for me.
My experience today proves what my sister has been telling me about how workmen circle is so unorganized and unprofessional . I got there a little earlier today and I was asked to wait until 630 so I can go inside then I was told that I could only visit for 30 minutes when the sign did not post that I could only visit for 30 minutes. When I arrived in my sisters room her food was sitting there partially eaten because they bring her food and have it open instead of covered and she refuses to eat the fruits because by the time it gets to her so much germs could enter the food because its not covered . I think someone should pop up unannounced and check this place out Is!
My mother had a heart attack and a major knee injury at the same time. She was hospitalized for a month and then needed to do rehab in order to be able to walk again. A friend of mine recommended Workman’s Circle and we took her there. She stayed there for 9 weeks and enjoyed her stay fully. The entire staff was amazing. The nurses, the health aids, the admin people and physical therapist. Everyone there has such big hearts and it was truly astonishing to see how much they all care and love what they do.Sonny, the director of the physical therapy department, and both her personal therapists Eddie and Kevin, were absolutely incredible with my mother. They were incredibly knowledgeable and patient with her throughout her time there. I seriously couldn’t be any happier with all three of these therapists and what they were able to do concerning my mother. She came in unable to walk and left being able to walk with confidence. She still has a long way to go but is encouraged to press forward based on what she learned while there.I completely recommend anyone considering Workman’s Circle. It was an amazing experience and I’m so grateful for what they did for my mother. I can guarantee you that you won’t regret choosing them. Thanks for reading,Kevin Swan
Mosquitoes all over the food, ants and roaches. My brother spent 3 weeks in this horrible place. The nurses barely answered the call bell and my brother would be yelling for the nurse, but they wouldn’t come.they lost his clothes and they even left him for an hour with the bedpan underneath him. Worst place ever!
These people lies to us and the state. They set us up to fail in taking care of my grandmother and now refuse to call me back. Ms. Patrick lied on my grandmothers assessment and now we cant get any kind of help or care for her. Its like they wanted us to fail so she would go back and they could get money for her from the government. They are a fraudulent facility.
I visited someone on 5 North and was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the ward and the courtesy and professional ism of the staff. Its inevitable to experience unpleasant odors at nursing homes and rehab facilities from incontinent patients , etc., yet this place was immaculately clean and odor free. The patients are clean, well clothed, hair done, and in good spirits. Excellent facility which is rare.
Everyone is friendly, helpful when it comes to asking questions, information about my moms or even things in general. Rooms clean and everyone that I have met so far have been helpful towards the patients. Which is a plus since they have to be there for one reason or another.
1st of all. When my mom got sick. I didnt want my mom in the bronx anymore!!!. Well Ms Nurije called me, sent me video, even made sure if I needed car service I could be picked up from the ferry. I live in staten island, she makes sure that I can see my mom every time I show up. Jorge that is security@the front desk makes sure everything i bring is given to my mom. Always ask me how Im doing. Just caring. I appreciate that. Jason from social services, Ms vivette from medical services. Don the nurse on my moms floor , They are all like a family unit. Im very Thankful for them all. From top to bottom my family and I appreciate you all !
A little bumpy start but all issues were resolved by a courteous and professional staff. I always find my grandmother clean, and happy. She seems well cared for. I live in another state so staff is always willing to take the time to speak with me and even put my grandmother on the phone. I am very satisfied with the service.
My mom has been there for a few days so far. We have met a couple of nice staff members so far. Yesterday my mom called crying and very upset because of the following:1. There was no one to help her out of bed until 11AM2. They seem to be short staffed ( the food gets to her cold)3. She was left on the bedpan so long that a mail visitor walked in on her4. She was put on the toilet even though her chart stated she was to use a bedpan- it took over 4 people to get her off the toilet ( she has very little use of her entire right side.Im not sure how I feel about this place so far.
My mother was transferred to Workmens 5/18/18 for physical therapy. On 5/25/18 an ambulance was called by staff and my mother was sent alone to Jacobi Hospital where she arrived semi unconscious. According to staff member she was sent because due to breathing difficulties. When I asked about her condition the staff member told me my mother was conscious and talking. However, when I arrived at the hospital the doctor informed me she arrived unconscious from low blood sugar, low blood pressure. Obviously she was not monitored or checked on, as she needed given her delicate state. She was put in a back room near the exit, where we seldom saw anyone come by. My mother was not speaking, moving or blinking when she arrived at Jacobi hospital. She passed on 5/26/18 at 4:00 am. BEWARE!
My mother was at this facility from Jan, 2014 until she passed in July, 2014. This facility is fantastic, from the administrators to the nursing staff to the physical therapist tthe kitchen and maintenance staff, as well. They took such good care of my mother, I could not have asked for a better facility to place her in (and she has been in others that I would not recommend anyone). They took time her especially when she stopped feeding herself. They actually cared for the residents as if they were family. I told my daughter that if I ever have to be in a Nursing Facility to please put me in WCMCC. Thank you for care you gave my mother and the family after her passing.
I have my mother at work mens circle and the staff has been very very good with her needs.they also keep her very busy on a daily basis. They also keep the facility in great condition and very very clean.everyone is friendly from the time you walk in until u leave.they also keep you inform of everything of the resident. I am very happy that I pick work mens circle for my mother.
Melissa Troches experience is very much what I went through with my mother. Once she was removed from the second floor to the fourth, it was a movement to a worse hell. She was moved because her room mate did not get along with her, (my mother did not speak nor could she move from her bed) and the other version was that she was deemed a short-term resident. I was never able to get a straight answer When being informed via phone about the transfer, I requested that they wait for my brother and that she be oriented by a Spanish-speaking nurse.. She was just transferred and when my brother reached, she was literally hoarse from trying to call for water. No water pitcher, no working call-button, and she was, it seems, simply ignored. On the second floor, she was across from the nurses counter and at least was in view. In this other part of hell, she was about five rooms away from the nurses station, she was wheeled to the eating area for breakfast and left there for lunch and dinner along with others who could not walk . It was an unbearable site seeing these old and fragile seniors bobbing their heads left, right, front, back for hours sitting in wheel chairs. The reason: they were considered bed-fall risks. As with my mother, they were not. They could not even turn in their beds, but making them comfortable would have required work on the part of the nurses that they just dont have. Also, when calling to check up on her status, no matter what time I called, the phone just rang for over 30 - 40 minutes and many times more. At one time the staff member, sounding exhausted, indicated that she was in charge of all patients in the dining area which included feeding, and also the reception counter.By the time I got there after a four day delay due the NY snow storm, my mother was so ill that she had to be taken to emergency. She was deemed dehydrated, had urinary track infection, kidney mal function, 400 + sugar level, stool back-up and other very serious problems. After the hospital stay, she was placed in another nursing facility where she received much better care, but never fully recovered. In terms of trying to reach supervisors and social workers, I faced the same situation as described by Melissa. Once the social workers were changed, the new ones didnt seem to know much about the case. When my brother made attempts to complain, he was given the run-around. The supervisor made some calls and indicated that the matter would be resolved. My encounter with this nursing facility is one that I will regret for the rest of my life.Be alert when checking these facilities. What they show you on the tours is not what you will get.
This place has told a bunch of lies to my family and myself. They reeled us in, than turned their backs on us. Peter, the nursing supervisor need more customer service training, as well as a lot of the other staff. Workmen circle is very short staff during the night hours,. i stay with my aunt as long as possible during those hours, because I know she will not get the attention she needs. As far as transportation PLEASE DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE. By them providing transportation for you, that gives them a heads up youre coming so by the time you arrive it looks as if your love one is being taking care of. Very Nice Clean Place, but what glitters on the outside isnt always pretty in the inside. Please look deep into the nursing homes when it comes to your love ones. Workmen circle isnt it. PERIOD!!!!!!!!
Horrible place. I went with a friend to see her aunt and it was heart breaking to watch as the staff ignored the patients who tried to get their attention for help. I have been here a few times with my friend and Im watching her aunt get worse and I truly believe its because she is getting horrible care here. For example once my friends aunt wet the bed and we kept trying to get someone to help change the sheets and no one would so we ended up taking the wet sheets off ourselves and cleaning her aunt. Im so scared that her aunt will end up with bedsores if they continue to ignore and treat her this way.
My grandmother fell out off bed and the staff kept telling us she was okay but we insisted that she go to the hospital. Turned out she had a fractured knee. Ever since she went here shes never been the same. I thought they would help her recover from an injury due to falling. Unfortunately, she has been unable to walk for months and must stay there long term. Were trying to get here out of there....waiting on Medicaid. She also got bed sores from lack of movement and was sent to the hospital for pneumonia. I feel bad for anyone that has to send their loved ones to this place. I hope that the administration would do something to improve the level and care and safety that these elderly people need. I wish they would put themselves in their shoes. There is but so much that a single nurse can do with so many patients yelling out for help. They need more nurses. Would the administration want to be a patient there? Would they want their loved ones to stay in a place like this? I dont think so!!!!
Worst service ever made several attempts to speak with the social worker Jessica hernandez voice mail every time static in the back ground, went to visit my love one and she takes chemo and they made her wait until 6pm to eat I had to go over to the nurse station and demand her food on top of that she had physical therapy and wasnt feeling to well that day because of the chemo the therapist told her if she didnt obey the rules of the facility they was going to ask her to leave the program who speaks to an elderly women like that she over 65 years of age. Please make sure you get every persons name thats handling your love one in this most disrespectful facility call a rehabilitation center.
Horrible place to leave your loved ones. Very unprofessional... From the so called Nurse, Mrs. Stern who has a disgusting attitude. I Im shocked this maggot of a person is allowed to be around families and loved ones. So rude, you talk to her and she wont even look at you. And when she does theres nastiness pouring out of her. To the half assed supervisors who continuously lie to cover their asses. If there is anything you could possibly do to assist your loved ones... Take them to another facility. And to top it all off Workmens Circle, is infested with mice. Do not leave your loved ones here if at all possible.
When my husband was moved from the second floor to the third floor his teeth and phone got lost and his glasses broke. He had a urinary tract infection that wentundetected for weeks causing him to be confused and disoriented. When his insurance ran out and he had to stay because I was in a rehab. When I took him home he couldnt even stand up! Hardly ever able to reach personnel or nurses station.
The staff was very nicr and welcoming, they had musoc playing and all the elderly were talking with each other and looked happy. My grandmothers room was very nice and clean the bed was made and the bathroom was clean. Everything was very clean. The only thing was the visitor bathroom smelled like pee and wasnt very clean but everything else was fine. Thank You
The worst experience ever lobby may seem ok but from service to care is another thing from lack of communication from all as the phone rings and no one seems to acknowledge or just pick up and hanging up extremely unorganized, lacking the we’ll care of patients to lack of security as employees walked around doing nothing with unexplained accidents of their patients… visiting hours is waisted on waiting with unanswered concerns
Very upset and angry disappointed with the way I find my dad when I go visit him. He is laying on the bed with dirty diapers smelling like urine his bed is Wet and The Staff never know what’s going on when you ask them about the conditions you find your love one in.i have to wash him and change his diaper myself and change his bed sheets because he is laying on urine. It is unacceptable and very unprofessional
So far the treatment of my cousin has been very good. She is sometimes difficult but the staff works well with her affliction. Only suggestion that I would recommend is that there should be a small refrigerator in the residence ‘s room so that they can have a little say so over their eating habits. My cousin likes to eat at night and it would help keep her space clean.
My sister is a resident there. I have visited numerous times in the mornings about 9 am, after breakfast. She is unable to stand. She sits in a dirty diaper all day, until she is put to bed . I have asked numerous times for someone to help and the assistants basically just ignore me. It is like that with all the residents. Their pleas are ignored. It is unfortunate that insurance and other factors determine where one goes for rehabilitation. In short, the residents do not get the care needed.
I can’t really rate this facility but I took a tour and the place seemed nice and clean. I was seriously contemplating transferring my grandmother to this facility but all of these recent negative reviews has me very hesitant. I want to feel comfortable transferring her to a nursing home better than her current one. Are these issues being addressed and rectified with the families?
Grandmother with Alzheimer has been here for 3 years and many things have occured. The place is understaffed especially on the weekends where I have come in at 11:00AM on Saturday and Sunday and see only 1 Nurse and 2 Activity Assistants in each wing on the 6th Floor. My grandmother has so far had her clothes, glasses, and dentures missing from her room. Some days my grandmother is not groomed properly and no dressed warmly since the air conditioners are on all the time and she cant take the cold. My mother pays over $1000 a month to have her kept there and they have yet replaced her glasses and dentures though the Nurse said the Doctor has ordered them and it has been two months. I come in at various times during the week, usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the mid-late Afternoon and I see my grandmother along with most of the patients sitting in the cafeteria with the television on but no activity to keep them occupied. Not even a newspaper or puzzle book or crossword puzzle. The place is decently clean and the staff are friendly but they are working with a skeleton crew almost all the time. Since the decision was my mother and not my own I would have to say for being charged so much money to take care of an elderly person I would expect at least more staffing and to have her glasses and dentures replaced as soon as possible since she cant see very well without them. But medication wise and treatment of her well being is very well. Still havent replaced her glasses or dentures 3 years later.Update as of May of 2014:After making a complaint to the ombudsman and state department about the facility in January after seeing her with two black eyes and the nurses stating she fell (apparently they couldnt get in contact when calling the family members). It appears that they transferred my grandmother to Bronx Park Rehabilitation after stating she got into a dispute with a resident. Although they told me this after they transferred her already without giving the members a chance to appeal as my mother(grandma daughter) was discharge from the hospital the day before. They stated that they she was a danger to staff and residences. My grandmother is blind in one eye and cant see past 6 inches on her good eye. On top of that she speaks spanish only and was only arguing about not getting her meds when she mistaken the residence as a nurse. I went to St. Barnabas Nursing Facility to see other places besides Bronx Park Rehab and although its a smaller facility I would prefer it since they have a CNA on every floor who job is to answer phone calls from doctors, staff, and family members 24 hours a day and on top of that its clean and connected to the main hospital by a walkway. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER HERE AS IF YOU COMPLAIN AGAINST THEM LEGALLY THEY WILL FIND A LOOPHOLE TO RETALIATE AGAINST YOU. Also the funny thing is when i questioned staff and nurses they seemed conflicted and on a personal note I work law enforcement and can tell nobody had their story straight of what occur and what reason.
Absolutely horrible place. My grandmother has been there for about 2 weeks and she has a Negative-pressure wound therapy which is like a vacuum connected through a tube on her leg for an infection that is not healing well due to her diabetes. This machine has to be on at all times as instructed by the doctor, yet every time we go to visit the machine is off. When my father confronted her social worker (Annette Williamson) about it she kept smirking so he asked her for her supervisor and she said she didnt know who her supervisor was again with her little smirk. Larry Adams, I see you respond to most reviews and I hope you do see this and know that my father and I are going tomorrow to have a very serious conversation because this is completely unacceptable.
This place was a disaster from day one in every way possible. On intake the billing department wanted me to sign away my fathers income to sign up for a Medicaid plan when my father had appropriate coverage for his stay. They had been supplied that medical insurance and had no record of it. Then when I spoke to the supervisor I was told they were looking at the wrong patient. His phone line did not work for the first couple of weeks and neither did his push button to call a nurse. He got stuck on a potty for hours because the button did not work and the nurses do not check on them for hours. His sheets were wet when he arrived. It takes days or hours to get nurses to act on anything like changing the wet sheets they placed on the bed. The nurses station was disorganized. They got my dad prepped for a wound care appointment that he had already had the day before. The person who handled the transport arrangements was unpleasant and never arranged payment or transport until I called her. Food was never hot which is discouraging when you are trying to get a man who just came out of a comma back on solid foods. His pain management was poorly managed. He went from Fentynl to motrin and when he was in poin still they denied him anything else. When the doctor finally agreed to change his meds it took an additional 24 hours for the pharmacy to dispense the meds. His surgeon recommended a 10 day stay and they extended him to 21 days which is what the insurance covered. When asked why we were told that the physical therapist recommended it. When I spoke to the physical therapist he advised he released my father from physical therapy. When I kept asking for help with the social worker and trying to understand I was ignored. When I finally heard from a social worker it was a new social worker assigned to my fathers case and was not familiar with any of our issues. At discharge they failed to order the proper equipment that he needed. He sat for 10 hours waiting to be discharged and no equipment. He had to stay an extra night which was billed to him. DO NOT LEAVE ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT HERE!
My mother 76, was at this facility for recovery post covid! How on earth is it humanly possible that social work discharged her home without home care services, no follow up and they are still billing her insurance a WHOLE month later after she was sent home!!!! Social Work has not reached out nor have they responded to numerous calls ...shut em down!!!!!!!!!
The place pretends to be a good place for rehab however it is a hell hole! I have had countless issues with my mothers care. I spoke with administration, direct of nursing, supervisors, nurses, cna, including social workers to no avail things did not stop or get better. I was told by the administrator hopefully the staff will get on point but I can not guarentee. do not send your relatives there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly, my grandmother has passed on but her last 2 years at workmens circle were awesome for both her and her family. We never had to worry that she was dirty or uncared for. there were plenty of arts and crafts and different activities every day. Her care was top notch and It was a beautiful place to bring our children to see her as well. Thank you for taking care of her till the end. I will always hold your staff in my prayers for being gentle and loving with her. Even with alzheimers and dementia, her eyes lit up when she recognised her favorite care givers. thank you!
My uncle is in there. He is wheelchair bound, blind in one eye, has diabetes, missing toes and goes for dialysis a few times a week. Staff there sees that he has visitors that brings him food, money, pain killers etc and they take advantage of that. He does stuff for himself and when hes away for therapy or dialysis the staffs go through his personal items. So far he had his pain killers stolen and clothes. Hes now had his little money we left him stolen for the third time. This place is a mess. Were planning to report this place if this continues. It isnt right to steal from those who cant help themselves but to be in such a place.
Worked there and to tell u the truth there’s way more wrong in that place than right...Too many supervisors and not enough supervision; some “regulars” (few nurses and 85% CNAs) definitely BOSS the “non regulars” around and it’s very discouraging at times. Besides , the point is I was actually doing great (3months in finally getting the hang of things) until my distress started to turned into anger. So instead of making matters worse. I simply went to get “help”(thought to quickly removed myself frm situation/insults) but I couldn’t find Charge RN. So I went downstairs for a “supervisor” as told during orientation and basically everything backfired...🙃😐🤯
Worst experience ever if u value your love ones lives dnt send them here my mom fell 4 times in 48 hrs even though they knew she was fall risk she ended up having a stroke within 5 days here an the list goes on she went in with Alzheimers but went for knee injury an developed way more health problems I wish someone would of warned me be careful with this place they are the nicest once they get them in their care it changes an when you want to take them out its like there held hostage like I said WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
This place is Horrible, the staff doesnt seem to know what they are doingMy brother was there for almost a month, even though he said some of them were nice, rest of them were rude and would ignore him,He would be calling for water or for some help and he would get ignored the whole time, This place should be Comdemed !!
Worst place to ever work. Its like a modern day plantation only thing leave for them to do is walk behind you with a whip like in the slavery times... Poor management and they over work their staff esp the rn they have to attend to 40+ patients hense putting their license that they worked so hard for at risk . Thats why they have a high staff turn overs. The name says it right they really WORK you in CIRCLE...
After reading the review I read a someone saying about cool food she is absolutely right, this every time I go see my mother her food is cold I have to go and warm up her food, another issue is these patient always smelling like piss because they dont even shower them some of these patient has dementia we family put them in their care trusting they going to take care of our love, but what I see Im going to transfers her some where that they care, this place should be investigated,ASAP
Worst one ever. I have a relative here and the type of care i saw her get from one of the nurses was heart breaking. I wont recommend this place to anyone. If something is not done to reeducate the staff here about clients right, then i dont know at which direction we are heading
Larry-you guys were great but every review regarding the transport is so true-and so unfortunate-admissions and Jessica are completely unforhcomiming rude and misleading ,and that was a major reason why i didnt bring dad back there-Larry-new families are NOT TOLD the truth about transport!!!thanks again for being our friend -while we were there-if you need to reach out-its Rebecca Mitchell
THE PHONE SERVICE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE SINCE 12/16/2018 IMAGINE IF YOU HAVE YOUR LOVE ONE THERE AND YOU CAN NOT CALL AND REACH YOUR LOVE ONE ALL THREW THE HOLIDAYS UP UNTIL RIGHT NOW THE PHONE SERVICE SUCKS YOU CAN NOT EVEN REACH ANY PERSONAL AFTER BUSINESS HOURS. AND THE SO CALLED SECURITY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE OPERATORS ALL THEY DO IS TALK ON THE PHONES THEY ARE NO HELP, THE NURSE STATIONS NEVER PICK UP.. ITS A SHAME YOU CANT CALL YOUR LOVE ONE TO SAY GOOD NIGHT. TO BE FAIR IF THIS PLACE DID NOT HAVE / ALLOW THIS PHONE PROBLEM TO EXSITS IT COULD BE A 5 OR 4 STAR RATING NURSING HOME IN NYC.. BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWING THIS BS TO GO ON HIRING SOME 2 CLOWNS TO UPGRADE THEIR PHONE SYSTEMS THEY NOW SUCK AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE SEND THEIR LOVE ONE THERE... PARTICULARLY IF YOU OR HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS OUT OF TOWN !
Worst place to have a love one in care of the one who is given a 5 star is because you work at this place so youre will rate it a 5 when deep inside your heart you know this is one of the worst place then u have Larry who answer your comments and write on call me I will fix your problem and he doesnt answer his calls so family dont take your live one here this place will be investigated
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM THE HOUR THEY TRANSFERRED MY MOTHER HERE... THEY HAD NO SUPPLIES ON TOP OF GHAT HER ROOM WASNT SET UP FOR HER. ( no feeding tube , trach sunction, gauze pads etc.) ON TOP OF THAT THEY LEFT MY MOTHER ALONE IN THE ROOM FOR OVER A HR WITH OUT CHECKING ON HERFAMILY WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS TRANSPORTATION FIVE DAYS A WEEK THEN FOR US TO GET THERE AND ITS ONLY 3 DAYS A WEEK FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. AND SOMETIMES YOU CANT GET 3 DAYS . THEY DONT CARE IF YOU GET TO SEE YOUR LOVED ONES.EVERYTHING MANAGEMENT EXPLAINED TO ME WHEN I WENT TO TOUR THE PLACE WAS A LIE‼️‼️‼️ DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE ‼️ THEY ARE FRAUDS THEY JUST WANT YALL MONEY‼️ TO TOP IT OFF CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS‼️‼️
My mother was visiting her father today and as she was leaving she encountered a nurse who she believed just started the evening shift my mother let her know that her father was ringing for oxygen the nurse was rude and dismissive and never even acknowledged my mothers presence..my grandfather has been in your care for three days and he has a couple of weeks of rehabilitation in your facility...is this unprofessional behavior is what is acceptable at this facility or was it hopefully just an employee having a bad day
My mom was just put in this facility for rehab and dialysis and the 1st night of Dialysis she had fallen and was left to wait for transport for over and hour after her Dialysis and she informed the staff she had to have a bm and No one took her to the bathroom and she went on herself .No nurse attended to her care a that time for her needs this is a shame and i made a formal complaint for this not a good feeling to have your mom in a rehab facility with care that is half ass!!
I am completely upset by the poor service they have given my dad..Since he has been totally ignored when he asked them for help telling them. That he feels a strong stomach pain and with vomiting for more than a monthWhere it has been so difficult to have communication with him just a week ago they gave me an extension number to communicate with him... when I asked them to please turn on their cell phone they never did when I called. The nurses never answerThere is no one to give information about him..today until I got a video call with my dad I was in a state where he vomited a lot and nobody was helping him, I asked a nurse and nobody ever came to help him..And I asked them to send him to a hospital and making excuses not to send him 😥..it turns out that someone already arrived by. My way of demanding 😥😥 to see a doctor. It turns out that they only checked a blood test and that evenThe moment. that I demanded it..They have horrible personalities and never answer the phones when they do. They give someone a bad answerSo if someone who is out of that place is treated badly. I can already imagine how they treat patients..My father is very ill when he enters. Even his way of speaking was very different. Already today his voice is too sad because of how bad he is and he has already lost a lot of weight..Its terrible how these people .think theyll never get to . Old or to be in a similar situation. This I promise you. That I will report them for negligence... and WHAT I SEE THAT MY DADS CASE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE THERE ARE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS HERE. LIKE THE SAME CASE OF MY DADS NEGLIGENCE. AND RIGHT THEY DONT CLEAN THEM BECAUSE MY DAD SAID HE SUCKED THAT IT WAS AN UNBEARABLE BAD ODOR..DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO THIS HELL..Dont let them send your relatives to this place.🔴🔴.🔴🔴🔴PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY TO THIS TERRIBLE PLACE I had bad experience with my Father ..😢😢😢😢

2022-05-13Its only been 2 days since my Mom was admitted to Workmens Circle for rehab and so far Im extremely satisfied and impressed with the treatment and services she has received. The administrative staff, medical professionals, assistants and therapists are all on top of their game. Everyone has been very patient, kind and compassionate. My Mom seems to be quite comfortable here and for that Im grateful.

2022-02-12There was an item given to my mother that was somewhat dirty. I reported it and IMMEDIATELY it was rectified, followed by sincere apologies. Otherwise, my mother reports that she is well taken care of. I absolutely love the gym in which she does her physical therapy, and the 2 therapist that take care of her are nice. Im not happy, however, that we kept replacing her combs and 3 of them are lost, including one of her hearing aids. My sister filed a grievance report and they will be taking care of that matter as well.

2022-03-28Hoodwinked! Do not use this place unless you are ready to get an attorney (like I had to do). Insurance stopped paying but my intellectually disabled uncle wanted to stay. He was not longer getting physical or occupational therapy but they let him stay as a cash pay, $600 a day. Mind you, no discharge planning was being put in place during this $10,000 excursion. Director, Abie Cooperberg was useless and didnt do a thing.... Until I hired an attorney. $1000 retainer. Workmens decided to discharge him... With NO discharge plan. The text in his paperwork was copy and pasted. It referenced a daughter-he has no kids, and referred to him as she. Violet tried to blame covid for their negligence but the city is back to businesses as usual. It felt like my uncle was being held hostage. I HAD TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO HAVE TO HAVE THEM BEHAVE ETHICALLY! Beware, my loved one was taken advantage of financially. Stay here and yours can be next.

2022-01-17I love the fact that a covid test and temp check is required before entry, because it makes it so much safer for everyone. The facility is clean and very warm. They feed them well usually, but I didn’t see anyone handing out food today for the afternoon to evening hours. However, the staff was super low with only 1 or 2 people checking on the patients. They were helpful but have got to be overwhelmed with that much work load. They need more people to see about the patients. The patients need more interaction and assistance, you can’t leave the patients that have minimal or parcial mobility to fend for themself for hours at a time. Everything else was decent.

2022-01-16My Grandmother is being kept at this place for going on 4 months now. She only went in for a broken leg which has been healed now but they’re keeping her there for longer than expected. The service for her is poor and they don’t tell her information instead they tell her daughter and son, when she specifically asked them not to. At this point they are just keeping her to run her money dry, I do not recommend this place at all.

2021-12-02Today i visited a dear friend at workmens circle. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. As i continued to the elevator there was one elevator not working and the other was used for dietary. Which left only one working for staff and visitors. Not good. It just takes a lot longer to see a resident. Than i learned about the south side elevators. They both were working. Good thing. One thing that needs improvement is some of the rooms are small and there are two residents in the room. I feel with a room that size one resident should reside there. Another thing is the TV is so small and sitting in an area where the closet is. it should be a bigger screen. I can not comment on anything else like staff, or physical therapy because i have not been there to run into anyone at this time. All in all it was an OK experience. Hopefully this review will help to make some improvements

2021-06-30This place is a tragedy. My father has been there almost a month and it has been a nightmare since he arrived. He has diabetes and they were giving him full starch means. Not to mention old food as well as raw food. The facility has roaches. The staff is deplorable. And they don’t give my father the medication he needs or the physical therapy they are supposed to be giving for him to recover from spine surgery. My mother and I bother have physical impairments as I was recently in a car accident that requires surgery on both my hips and shoulders and my mother has bone issues. Yet, one night the staff was so deplorable that we both had to get out of our beds at almost midnight to go there and raise hell just to get my father assistance with being washed. He was in the facility for a week and rather than wash him staff would come in the room to tell him that he stinks. And when we arrived the management team refused to come speak to us.My mother and I were both hung up on several times when we called to get updates on my father or to make a complaint. Most recently there was a flying cockroach in my fathers room. He asked for someone to get it and they didn’t. Eventually he had to kill it himself with his cane and still no one has come to clean it up.If you have someone you love that is assigned to go to this facility DO NOT SEND THEM. It’s terrible. All they care about is money. They are currently holding my father hostage and won’t transfer him out despite my mother, him, and myself saying we don’t want him there. It’s a horrible facility and no one deserves to be treated this way.

2022-01-16I have my mother at this facility and I am so pleased with the staff and the rehab she is receiving. Staff is caring and kind. The subacute rehab on the second floor is state of the art. Thank you to the team!
