Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown in Buffalo
This by far is another one of my favorite hotels in Buffalo, it’s always what you expect and the total experience makes you want to check out late or stay another day.Everyone is always friendly, the lobby is always bright and welcoming, breakfast area or tables are always clean, and there’s never any trash overflow outside or inside at the receptacles.
We booked this hotel because it boasted online of having a bar, restaurant and room service. There was no indication online that they were closed and not available. Upon check-in we were notified of the aforementioned being closed and there was a Grab and go. breakfast. We went to our room and the hallway leading up to our door had a vile sickly sweet scent that permeated the space and never subsided over the three days we were there. Thankfully, our room was not so retched smelling. Our room was booked for my husband and me on our anniversary. They were kind enough to leave a plush robe and slippers for one of us to use. When they cleaned our room, they didnt re-stock the coffee. Ultimately, aside from the stench outside our door, the stay wasnt bad, but for the price we paid, I expected more than Budget Inn style accommodations.
Positive: The Staffs were amazing except 1 lady. I dont judge but every staff was amazing except 1. I wish i knew her name. But other then that the hotel experience was amazing. I enjoyed much. Left a note with smily on the room. Negative: 1 staff at night who showed attitude when i tried to vallet my car, she just rudely responded ¿leave the key here¿ with an attitude. Happened exactly sunday night. Aug 1, 2021. around 9:30-11:30 pm.
The staff is so incredible. We had door dash delivered, and the delivery man dropped it off at the hospital near by instead of our hotel. The front man at the front desk said he’d call over to see if it was at the hospital, and i went back to my room to ask my husband to go get it since it was dark out. When he came back down the man from the front desk had gone to get it for us! Even ensured us that he was vaxed and has washed his hands and put on a clean mask. Very comfortable bed, and decently clean room. Not very modern, but the staff and comfort definitely made up for it. We will definitely be staying here again!
Positive: Room and bed were comfortable. Negative: There was dirt on the floor in my room, the safe was locked from a previous guest, the TV didnt work at first. They tried to check me out a day early on my prepaid 3-night reservation. My room was never cleaned at any point during my stay.
Fair - room was basic....but did have a refrigerator and microwave which is always appreciated. The fact theres a complete lack of self parking options anywhere around the hotel and basically that any and all parking must be handled through the valet at a charge of $18 a day. Wyndham Resorts and Hotels website mentioned NOTHING AT ALL about to lack of parking options for self parking and that all parking must be valet for $18 a day
The entire staff was warm and helpful. The hotel is fresh and clean, the bed comfortable. The restaurant provided a delicious, hot late nite snack of freshly cooked french fries the first night and a tasty Greek pasta salad on bed of fresh greens the second night. All was packed to take to my room after a long day waiting at the hospital. The shuttle to the hospital was a blessing.
The hotel is nice and very clean. It is downtown so not great walking distance to a ton of things. The hotel is surrounded by hospitals in terms in location. The hotel restaurant is closed down due to COVID (though its suppose to be a temporary thing) therefore they are offering a grab and go breakfast from 730a-11am. Its just your traditional continental breakfast. There is a microwave and full size fridge in the room. There is a shuttle that will take you within a 1 mile radius as well as to and from the hotel however be prepared to wait an hour or more to actually go somewhere utilizing the shuttle...again due to shortages from COVID. There is plenty of hand sanitizing stations throughout the entire hotel. The hotel also is only doing room service 3 days per week (as a result of COVID and shortages). The room offers many cable stations for viewing which is nice.
My family has stayed here several times over the past year. If you have business at Roswell Park, the location cant be beat! Service and amenities overall are fine for the price point. Grateful for staff accommodating late checkouts when our appointments run long. Also, shoutout to guest agent Randy for his first class hospitality! It truly makes a difference to the guest experience. While the breakfast offerings are nothing special, the overall value and convenience keep us coming back.
Check in had to be after 6 due to computer upgradeI had a procedure done at Roswell. Employees were slow on the new computer systemThe room was great, as usual.I am here with a caretaker in two separate rooms and they put us across the hall from each other. With the exception of the new computer system, it was great, as usual.
Positive: The people were friendly and helpful. Negative: The price for this hotel is ridiculous considering it was just a room. Nothing special at all about this room. It was nice. It was clean. It should be. No amenities. No parking without charges. No pool. No food. Nothing.
I stayed at the Wyndham Downtown for seven nights while my husband received treatment at Roswell. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I really liked the convenience of the indoor walkway from the hotel to the hospital. The staff is amazing. Randy checked us in and did his absolute best to meet and even exceed all or needs. Love him!! Everyone was so kind, thoughtful, and informative. The meals we had at the restaurant were great. I recommend the steak sandwich! The room was quiet, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is large and well equipped. Loved the kitchenette!
My stay was nice but they told me they gave me the best rate since my granddaughter is in the nicu at oishei childrens hospital well that was a big fat lie I still paid 134.23 while regular is 139.00 plus tax then I used my husbands card to reserve it and when I checked in the last was rude and told me if I didnt have a card in my name I couldnt get room
Stayed again 4-7-2021,same excellent staff and rooms are clean and nice. Stayed here for a week recently 2-2020. Unexpected surgery. Staff was GREAT with understanding and caring about issues. Didnt know day to day when we were going to be in the hospital still or checking out. They accommodated us with our flexible unknown booking. Wonderful staff and very helpful with everything. Went out of their way many times to help....We used valet here after using Buffalo General valet who lost our key. Well worth the extra amount....UPDATED 2-2021 Stayed again for some surgery overnight. My family and i will keep returning as the rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is clean and in good repair. The staff... Is... GREAT! The main thing that keeps us coming back is how we are treated and the friendliness and caring shown by the staff. Female at the front desk during daytime is an example for all hotels to follow. Friendly, courteous and caring all the time. The shuttle driver and other front desk staff were also prompt and friendly. THE STAFF IS why we stay here every time. Thank you all. ******** 100 Stars **********
Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Rooms was spacious, beds were comfortable. You pay for your stay at the end of the visit which I thought was a little strange. I prefer to pay upfront. My only hesitation about staying here in the future is I have been unable to connect with someone regarding a lost item. Two phone messages left and reached out to them on social media with no response. A quick response letting me know if the item was found or not would have been appreciated.
My sister and myself stayed a weekend at this hotel and had a wonderful time at this hotel. It was perfect being on the Buffalo medical campus as we had a family member in the hospital. It was very easy to walk across the street to visit our father and in the evening time was very nice to take the shuttle to the local casino. The most enjoyable part of our stay was all of the staff!!!!!! We felt like we were part of their family from the moment we walked in the door from the moment we left. Everyone Who works there is so very friendly! Kevin at the front desk and Scott in the restaurant area were very pleasant and stopped to talk to us whenever they saw us. Plus everyone else at the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping was always asking us how are we doing and do we need anything when they would see us. Food from the restaurant and drinks from the bar were absolutely wonderful! Great food and drinks made for a nice place to unwind after visiting in the hospital. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area either just for a vacation or if visiting relatives who are in the hospital located on the campus. Thank you again to all of the great staff and looking forward to returning even if its just for a weekend getaway stay!!!
This hotel was a mixed bag for us. On the positive side, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy across the street from the hotel. The room itself was nice, and mostly clean. On the other hand, the bed and pillows were not very comfortable, which is pretty much the two things we really wanted to use. We also found a very large spider on the bed itself, which needed to be removed.
Room was very spacious. We were delighted to find a large fridge in our room. Beds were comfy and bathroom was a good size. Would have been better if beds were queen sized instead of double (room 304).Just wanted to show our appreciation to the front desk staff. We had an emergency in the early hours of the morning (approx 12:30am) and they drove us to hospital via the shuttle (shuttle stops at 11:30pm). Once again we appreciate all your efforts and help regarding our situation.Highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent hotel experience. Beautifully appointed rooms, a lounge on my floor, and even the hallways were exceptional. The bed was very comfortable. I was able to get an incredible last minute rate WELL below their usual price, which meant I didnt mind paying for valet parking and dinner and a drink in the hotel restaurant. I would stay here again EVERY time Im in Buffalo if I could get the rate I had last week. Otherwise, Im staying elsewhere, unfortunately.
First off, I am laying on my comfortable bed after a LONG 22 hours of driving straight from Texas. I was greeted by the gentleman at the front desk who already had my reservation pulled up. I then went in to the bar with 15 minutes left before close. The bartender told me to take my time. There was no rush. He also gave me a solid rundown of the city and what to do. The valet driver came up to me as I was having a drink and brought my water from the front desk. He then told me how much he loved my truck. This place is amazing!
Not being familiar with this hotel chain I picked the Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown because of its close proximity to Buffalo General, where my mom was a patient at the Cardio Vascular Intensive Care Unit. I stayed at this location three times over the course of three weeks and I was very happy with the level of courtesy, professionalism and service I received. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the property and surrounding areas were extremely well maintained; and the staff made a very stressful situation bearable, especially Randy at the front desk, who always asked about my moms well being every time he saw. I live in NYC and will be returning to the Buffalo area several times over the next few months and I will DEFINITELY be staying at this location. Thanks so very much!
The cost is slightly too high, but the rooms are decent and the service is good. My biggest complaint is that there is not any free on-site parking, which I didnt see anywhere on the site and reviews I read. They do have valet parking, at $18/day, or you can pay to self park. That, and the bathrooms are a bit small. Otherwise, the rooms are very comfortable.
Had the pleasure of staying Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown while in town for a concert. The service was top notch and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, restaurant served a delicious breakfast and they provided shuttle service to the theatre district for our concert. Thank you Randy for your great service and hospitality. Your service was above and beyond. Great to see professionalism at its best!
First room reeked of smoke. Hotel front desk was extremely friendly and understanding. In two minutes we got a new room. Nice accommodations. When I asked valet about walking in the area, he said they are not supposed to discourage people from walking on the neighborhood and he walks home. We chose the frde shuttle service , which was awesome, and went to a further restaurant. No free coffee in the morning. Night desk clerks were great!!!
Rooms are very beautiful, clean and spacious, all amenities were present, morning breakfast was very good, even we had to catch flight in morning so they served breakfast around 6am..very good, one manager was there i dont remember his name but he was so nice and gentle. staffs were good. for evening dinner and all in the city-hotel itself provide free cab service to go and come to the cafe/restaurant. overall we had wonderful experience. Thanks
Rooms are really big! Front desk is super friendly and helpful. The area is not great, boring and sketchy. The bar at the hotel is small. Finally, the aircon is noisy (seriously loud) and kept my partner and I up. I would steer clear of youre a light sleeper. All rooms are the same, according to the engineer...
My boyfriend and I recently spent a weekend at this hotel. The staff was surprisingly very friendly and helpful. Anything that we needed, the staff seemed eager to help out. Our only issue was with the parking. It was difficult for us to find a parking space near the hotel. Our room was spacious and clean.
I had found the hotel as it was in proximity to my business function. While they are currently under some construction, it has been a great stay. Excellent service by the shuttle driver, front desk, and restaurant. Nice room with all amenities. And I can never say no to a delicious cookie on entry.
Good location - located near all the hospitals so you feel safe as someone from out of town. They offer valet parking for $18 a day, which we felt was worth it. Yes, you can get cheaper parking somewhere else, but valet offers in and out privileges and you know your car is safe behind the hotel in their private lot. You just call down 5-10 mins before you need your vehicle, and they bring it right up to the front. They offer a free shuttle as well for those without a vehicle. The hotel was close enough to all the shopping and restaurants we wanted, so we were happy. It was quiet and clean, and the staff were super friendly and even helped us decide where to go for the best non-tourist trap place to eat (Bar-Bill).There was a little hiccup with our shower, but they quickly switched us to another room on the same floor and checked in to make sure everything was okay.I took a star away because they could offer more amenities, like complimentary breakfast and a pool. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Wyndham Garden Buffalo.
This was my second time staying due to seeing a family member in Buffalo General. Im so thankful to the hotel staff for going above and beyond during both of my stays. Randy and the others surely showed patience and kindness during a very difficult time. The cleanliness of the rooms, accommodating shuttle service and restaurant were excellent ! I will definitely recommend Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown to others! Thank you!
Second time staying at this hotel. I was here back in 2016 when it was a Hilton Doubletree and had a great experience. I was hesitant to book here again because of brand loyalty, but Hilton HHonors points be dammed, I made a reservation. I could find hardly any noticeable differences besides new signage all around. On site restaurant and bar are still great, hotel was clean and comfortable. Slept like the dead for two nights. Staff was friendly and courteous. Only possible complaint would be that I need to spend $18 dollars a day for valet parking since there is no on-site parking lot.
My father had a medical emergency and my mom needed a place to stay for six weeks. The entire staff bent over backwards to make sure she had a room, was comfortable, and was very emotionally supportive for her. When your family is in trouble, to have total strangers start acting like family is a rare thing. These people are amazing. They would even give her grief when she tried to leave the hotel with out her cane (per my request) and the shuttle driver would drive her the 100 feet to the hospital door when it was clear she would struggle. I cannot express my gratitude to the staff. They are an amazing bunch of people.
Over all good experience. The staff were very friendly and glad to assist where we needed. The valet ($18 a night) service was prompt and had no hiccups with keys etc. The room was clean; fresh towels, clean bathroom and there was coffee/tea and water bottles and a mini fridge. The lotion and mini shampoo and conditioner smelled really delightful. There were charging ports in the lampshades next to the bed side. Only downside was how loud the wall ac/heater was. I am a light sleeper and anytime it kicked on it hummed really really loudly. I wasnt sure if it would be possible to switch it off because it was 31 degrees outside and figured I would rather be annoyed with sound than freezing my toes off.
Stay was ok other than a very rude person at the front desk upon your arrival to the hotel. Fire alarm went off in the early morning and no staff even bothered to come out and say it was ok to return to our rooms. Than after returning back to our room the cleaning personal decided to attempt to let them selfs into the room while I was sleeping thankfully I put the door stopper over or they would have just came right on in. Parking was a little costly, and I watched the person who dropped my vehicle off in the morning jump the curb with my brand new tires. All in all not really impressed with the hotel
The staff is great and the rooms are clean and just as described on their website. Its on walking distance of Allen st. The only interesting part of the area but lively after night hours, during the day its like a ghost town with only the homeless around asking for cash. There is no parking, no pool or entertainment of the kind so it makes you think if the money is worth I but I guess you pay for safety since its right in front of an hospital, so ideal if youre just passing by. 30 min drive from Niagara which is fine.
My family and I stayed here during our trip to Niagara Falls. It’s a newer hotel, not one that claims to be recently updated. It’s in close proximity to Niagara Falls. The drive over the bridge to the Falls was beyond beautiful. There’s plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel which is located in a good area. Staff was great during check-in and checkout. I’d definitely stay again.
Had a very nice stay here for a business trip. The rooms are spacious and clean. Decor is new/updated. Fitness center was standard for a small hotel - two treadmills, two ellipticals, one stationary bike, and some free weights. Theres a nice library on the second floor if you want to get out of your room and have a place to meet with your travel companions other than the lobby. Front desk staff were friendly. Hotel is centrally located near the downtown Buffalo hospitals, and a bit of a walk to local restaurants on Allen St. Overall nice place and good location, would definitely stay again.
We stayed at this hotel so we could attend an event at the Keybank Center. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had a late start to our trip and did not arrive until 1 hour before the concert was due to start. Randy, who was on the check-ins desk when we arrived, quickly figured out why we were there. He told us of several options to arrive at our destination, and we chose to go by cab. He asked if we minded sharing, to get us there quicker. We agreed, and the other couple agreed, and so he called us a cab and told us that they would be there in 5 minutes. It didnt feel anywhere close to 5 minutes, but he was already on the phone asking where they were. In the midst of this, there were several other customers taking the shuttle, and he was helping them also. Even though he was taking care of several other customers, he made every one of us feel like we were the most important. Neither the other customers who agreed to share with us nor us ever once said any negative word at all, Randy took over our issue with aplomb and authority, and soon had us on a shuttle to take us to the event. When we came back to our room, it was spotless and roomy, and those clean and crisp yet SOFT sheets were just what we needed! We came back too late for room service, and it seems Buffalo rolls up its sidewalks at 11 but the Wyndham has an awesome little convenience room with sandwiches, cheese and crackers, beer and wine, and all sorts of goodies to save the day. Our room was the quietest hotel room I have ever stayed in. We never heard anyone coming down the hall, or any noise from either of our adjoining rooms. In the morning, we went into the in-hotel restaurant for breakfast. Jessica was our waitress, and she was very friendly and personable. She told us to choose where we wanted to sit, and immediately came over to wipe down our table for us, and dry it afterwards. We ordered the omelets...fast, speedy, and well over an inch thick! And the price, for what we ordered, was extremely reasonable. All in all, a fantastic place to stay! We showed up in Carhartts and were quite clearly part of the working class, yet this hotel treated us like visiting royalty. And then we find out we had a free upgrade to a larger room....! Any other hotel would have pointed this out the moment we walked in. This place.... again, we felt like visiting royalty. Randy and Jessica were absolutely wonderful!!! Everybody we dealt with was great, but those two were really awesome! Valet parking (we drive a HUGE pickup truck) and to-the -door service.... Parking was not free, but a bargain compared to trying to find a place to park a way oversized pickup truck (Dodge 2500 with heave duty shocks, full size cab and full size bed.) I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Buffalo, and I know that next time I travel to Buffalo for an event, THIS is where I will be staying. Thank you, Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown, for making my trip memorable for all the best reasons!
Rooms could be updated. Its actually right across the street from the hospitals so during covid when I was staying there it was basically quarantined off and the road it was on was not open to traffic. When I booked the room there was absolutely no warning of this at all I thought that should be a main warning by staying here it seems one would more likely be exposed
Clean and comfortable quiet and accessible. Parking directly across the street which is covered. Shuttle service available. Rooms were very nest and amenities were what you would expect. The only lying complaint is that the entrance is a bit small considering the amount of traffic in the area, but no big deal.
Just excellent customer service..... Just like Vegas at the new New York hotel.... One problem breakfast is not complimentary... Its a payed menu.My room was clean bright wonderful bathroom and I had a great roomThe Christmas Tree in the front lobby just amazing.i will be back in the future
TL;DR: Cockroach problem exacerbated by woefully incompetent and rude service.Let me preface this by saying that I do not usually write negative reviews. Customers can be unreasonable and often exaggerate. However, I assure you, the following is all true.My stay at the Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown was scheduled for 3 nights. The stay was actually quite pleasant for the first two nights. On the morning after the third night I woke up in preparation to freshen up, pack, and check out. I turned on my bedside lamp and froze. There was a large cockroach right next to where my hand was (near the lamp switch). I was immediately sick to my stomach. How long had that thing been crawling around my room? Around my bed while I was asleep? How many were there hiding in dark corners? After I got over my initial shock I took a picture, because I was worried of not being believed. The cockroach soon skittered into darkness and obscurity behind the bed. I know that this hotel is not a 5-star hotel, but I dont think it is unreasonable to expect a 3-star hotel not to best infested with roaches (especially one that charged $280/night).After that, I packed up immediately and in a hurry. I didnt bother to take a shower - I just wanted to leave. When I arrived at the check-out counter there was no one else in the lobby and a lone employee working the front desk. He asked for my keycards and my room number and told me I could leave. He did not ask me how my stay was, which would usually be fine if it werent for the fact that my entire stay had just been ruined by this cockroach. So, I just told him directly - there was a cockroach in my room and I was upset. I was not looking for any benefit or room upgrades (as some people might when they complain at a hotel). I was checked out. My bags were packed. I just wanted to be taken seriously and treated like a human being. Even a mild sorry this negatively impacted your experience with us would have sufficed. I guess I expected too much. The desk clerk barely looked up from what he was doing and simply said mmhm, well look into it. End of conversation. Good bye. Dismissed. Four and a half words and not a glance. I can only conclude one of two things from this non-response: (1) the hotel was fully aware of this roach problem and this was not new information; and/or (2) me and my concern/experience were not worth taking seriously. Either way, horrible.I sat down quietly for a few minutes processing this interaction. I decided to approach the clerk again and express that I did not feel like his response adequately addressed my concerns. I told him if he did not believe me I could show him the pictures. He responded, I already told you wed look into it. But he did look at me this time, but only to facially express that I was being a nuisance. If this were a restaurant, and a customer just told you they found a cockroach at the bottom of their soup, would the adequate response be, mmhmm, well look into it. goodbye?Since he was not being very helpful, I asked to speak to a supervisor. He claimed he was the supervisor and would not get anyone else for me. I asked for his name and he refused to disclose it. That cowardice speaks for itself. Since I dont know his name, I can only say that he has shoulder-length hair and wears glasses. If you ever have the misfortune of staying at this hotel, at least save yourself some further suffering by avoiding this man. Unless of course you enjoy feeling like garbage. If this man truly is in management, well, I guess this only further reflects on the quality of Wyndham properties at all levels.Altogether it was a rather surreal experience. Kafka-esque even. I woke up and saw a roach, but if I didnt know any better, Id have thought the roach was me.p.s. cant seem to attach a photo of the roach here, but I plan on posting this on other review sites and attach it to those.
We stayed at Double Tree and we simply had an amazing stay. The man at the front desk (bald older man) offered us a medical discount that we didnt know about( we had a family member at Buffalo General). They also offer a free shuttle to take us downtown at no extra cost. Oh and they have the best cookies I ever tasted
I am currently staying here for my anniversary and all I can say is I am blown away at how amazing the customer service is. Everyone that works here is so kind and accommodating. I have never stayed at a hotel that has treated me so wonderfully. The hotel is also so clean and beautiful in side very updated. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and I will forsure be staying here again for any staycations I want to take. If I could give them 10 stars I would.
DON’T GO!! my friend and I stayed here for a a concert that was being held that evening. First of all no parking. But I’m theres valet and shuttles. Although being that it was the dead of winter didn’t help matters in that respect. So we came back to the concert very late. My friend woke me because next door it sounded like a full fledged party going on at 3am!!! We tried waiting it out for another half an hour before I finally took a stand and called down to front desk... 3 times! The front desk (whatever he was) NIGEL said he would go up and speak to them which never happened. Finally by about 4:30 we decided enough was enough. We got dressed and confronted the front desk. NIGEL sat passively as I explained the situation yet a 4th time and asked for the money to be refunded back to my friends card. He said he was unable to do this. I asked for a manager. He stated that he was it until morning. When I stated that the police needed to be contacted if he would not deal with the noise issue he said something to the time of “have fun with that” with a smirk! We left and stayed at a great last minute accommodation for the remained of our trip. When I called and spoke to a general manager in the morning she stated that she was surprised. That it was unlike NIGEL to act in that manor. I explained the situation and went back and forth between the hotel and the booking site that I reserved on trying to get a refund. The manager called back not too long after stating that the HOTEL was going to go ahead and comp is for that night. This never happened to this day. I have emailed her with no further responses. I wash my hands of the situation. I just hope that this hotel cleans house as far as staff if they can’t control partying guests.
Hotel and staff were EXCELLENT ! Very caring and attentive in all areas. Here for medical purposes .Parking is VALET only , no problem, vehicle available anytime you request it. Their restaurant was very good with attentive staff, rooms very clean and in order. Would return, inside connecting corridors well marked to ROSWELL PARK and BUFFALO GENERAL Hospitals !
Room was spacious and clean. The staff was amazing! I was there for a consult at Roswell Park and when that was done, the lady working that day asked me how I made out. She was genuine and caring. Good location to the RPCI and downtown! Wvwryone was ver accommodating!! Thank you!!
WORST STAY EVER!!!!!!! We were there because my twins were 3 mo. Premature and in childrens hospital. I just got discharged but had to deliver breast milk. The hotel wouldnt let me get valet parking without cash, Im cut from side to side and not allowed to walk. The tub didnt work, they did nothing. The man in the room next to ours blasted the tv til 2am while I had a 1 year old in the room who couldnt sleep, and they did nothing. The next morning we were refused breakfast, saying we couldnt put it on my room card which I set up the day before. The woman working the front desk this morning was the most ignorant, nasty, rudest person I have ever met. I had my 2 children with me and she was yelling at us telling us thats not the way things work around here. We asked to speak to a GM or owner and she claimed she was both and that she was firing Mike and Randy from the day before for setting that up. My mother called to get us breakfast billed to her and this woman cussed her out and hung up on her. Never in my life have I ever been treated so badly especially when Im going through alot right now. We even requested a refund and they said the would get back to us in a week.
This is the best hotel Ive ever stayed in. First, they give both of you a WARM chocolate chip cookie when checked in. Oh my gosh, so good. We were there for a bike trip around Niagara - there were 11 of us and we ALL felt the same way about this amazing hotel. In particular, Danny and Randy. Randy was extremely friendly, attentive, made things happen. He was a wealth of information. Danny, the driver who took us to restaurants, to our excursions, picked us up and was an amazing tour guide! Another wealth of information. The partender was great too - wish I could remember his name...It was a full name, not a nickname. James? Steven? Cant remember. But he was awesome...
Doubletree Crew at High St are very friendly, accommodating and informative. Definitely will go back someday!Im giving this hotel a 4 starsOnly cons I would like to share1. Paper thin walls. Can hear easily hear noises2. No pool. ( This is not really an essential part on our trip but it would be nice to have that option)
Randy was the consummate professional! He was accommodating, respectful, knowledgeable, and highly efficient with a great sense of humor!! In fact, everyone treated our party of 9 who came for a BSU graduation with respect, dignity, and high level hospitality.The. beds were so comfortable, room was clean, valet parking timely, watched great Showtime movies, the breakfast bar was delicious, and the price was very economical for that level of cleanliness and service. Wyndham Gardens Downtown is a great place to stay whenever you come to Buffalo!! Thank you Randy and crew!!!Tracey Sabree
I loved the complimentary hot wings on my pillow were a nice touch but the sauce stained my pillow. A balmy 11 degrees out made it far more cooling then the included bleu cheese for the pillow wings. I rate the rooms as extra spicy but would request a crisper side of celery next time.
Front deskman Randy what a star! From his kindness with the intial greet to getting us fully checked in quickly! A++ I have never stayed with Wyndham and will be back! Randy even called us after a few mintues of entering the room just to make sure we liked it and if we needed anything at all! Awesome! Thank you!
Im on visit to Niagara stayed in this hotel for a night which is biggest nightmare. Rooms arent clean, Carpet is gummy and wet, No coffee cups, bedsheets smells pissed. And yes main important thing here is the staff of front desk are very rude, they dont like customers coming its looking. Not only this Doubletree Ill never visit to any of this hotels and franchise.
I work at one of the hospitals nearby and have an hour lunch break. I like to come eat at Carltons sometimes because the food is tastier than what you can get at a hospital cafeteria or most of the lunch spots in the immediate area. Also Ive never had a problem with being back late from lunch, so thats a huge factor when picking a place to eat for lunch.
A solid choice for a Buffalo Hotel - by price, comfort, value, location and most of all, staff. They have access to a gym, a courtesy shuttle taking us around the city, and some incredibly accommodating staff. Hats go off to Wendy at the front. Thank you DTfor a great stay
Two nights before our stay we called and were told that we had two connecting room on the same floor. Upon arrival, we were told that the person in one of the rooms extended their stay so we would have rooms four floors apart. The rooms were nice but that was unfortunate.
Wish i had known they were doing renovations prior to my reservation. I was never notified of the construction and i only realized once my gf and i were in the elevator, where we noticed a sign stating the 3rd floor was closed to to remodelling. We thought no problem, we are on the 2nd, no huge deal. With this said why would you allow construction to take place anywhere else but the 3rd floor? I ask this because myy gf and i were woken up promptly at 730am Friday am to the sounds of individuals in the halls, not guests just passing by, but continuous chatter directly in front of our door. I woke to see what was going on when i realized they were c9 struction workers prepping to start their day. Then as soon as the clock turned to 8am, the sounds of power tools commence, grinding/cutting, etc. I completley understand the need for upgrades and a fresh new look. The least that could have been done is prior notice, is all i am saying. My gf and i went for a peaceful retreat and is was anything but. Had i known i could have made other arrangements.
Me and a co-worker went to this establishment for a drink after work. The bartender had a very nasty demeanor we asked for low ice so he flung some of it out of the cup and proceeded to tell us that you wont be getting any more liquor and we told him we know that we would just like less ice.
I actually posted this under double tree but is now wyndham gardens. Had procedures done at buffalo general and they gave a good discount staying there if you have things going on at the hospital. Plus can park in the ramp for 20 bucks and come and go as you need to! Great experience
Arrived on October 22, 2015. Pool not in good shape but you can drive to the airport and use the pool at there sister hotel. Oh well will just do my workout in the gym. But guess what, no gym! Its closed for reservations. What a 2nd rate hotel at a premium rate price! No option for gym! I honk I should tell the front desk that my credit card is under renovations and cant be used now!
Always stay here when in Buffalo, when we wanted to take in a movie on a rainy night, they drove us there and picked us up after the movie. Indoor connection to Roswell Park was nice. Helpful staff, clean room, treadmill and weight machine. Was connected to Au Bon Pain for a quick breakfast or lunch.
I stay in ALOT of hotels.I have spent a great deal of time in places like Disney resorts,Universal Resorts, beach resorts.I have stayed here a few times in the last 7 years and there is no comparison to the staff here. They are by far the most professional and courteous staff I have ever encountered. They go above and beyond for guests.I would give 10 stars if I could.

2022-04-17I have stayed at much more extravagant hotels in the past, but cleanliness is definitely not an issue at this place! The hotel itself would be 3-4 stars. But the staff truly make it 5 stars and above. Randy at the front desk, and all of his associates take pride in customer satisfaction. Everyone is treated like family, and they are knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions or info about the local area. The shuttle service they offer is also fantastic, and all of the drivers are prompt, courteous, and professional. What a fantastic experience! Wish every hotel was run with such valuable employees!

2022-04-12Positive: I loved the free shuttle to downtown. Parking has a fee but more than worth it with the shuttle. Our drivers Paul and Stefano were great. It was fast and reliable. I will stay here again just for the shuttle it is a great amenity. Negative: No we loved our whole experience. The restaurant was closed due to covid so 8 would love to have breakfast there next time.

2022-07-10Great place to stay. Friendly staff. Parking can be a challenge. They have a shuttle (minivan) that will carry you anywhere within reason and come pick you up. Driver super friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were good except bathroom. You could shower, use the toilet, and brush your teeth at the same time. Super small. Everything else pretty good.

2022-01-04Positive: I thought the staff were top-notch! The room was also fully worth the price but the staff is what made the stay even better. Negative: One tiny gripe I had was the price for parking. I wish it had been stated upfront a little more clear prior to us booking the room.

2022-03-25I dont know who hires or trains this staff but this place is a mess. They dont understand the difference between extending a stay and moving a stay. I think the front desk staff should start with some basic English language lessons. Or any language lessons, I cant imagine any of the other ones on earth would have faired better. Took me 10 minutes to get this guy to write an email down correctly. If you LOVE headaches in travel, stay here for sure. Dump.
