I definitely LOVE the place! Kevin is actually the MOST professional hairstylist Ive ever met, no exaggerating at all. He offers the best advice, and do prefect haircut. I have been doing my hair with him for 2 years. The price he offered is much cheaper than my former hairstylist, and indeed, he does a way better job. Highly recommended!
I came in pretty late in the day, only an hour and a half before closing time. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, and showed a picture to Vivian. She only had to take a quick look before knowing exactly what to do. She carefully styled my hair all the way until past closing time, ensuring my cut was perfect. My hair turned out just the way I wanted. The hair wash was also very soothing--free head massage included!
My experience from the moment I made the appointment to getting my hair colored at the salon was completely professional. I was there for a total of eight hours and Vivian made sure my hair was always attended to and she did not let me leave without me being satisfied with my color. I will definitely be coming back because the services was affordable. Thank you Vivian for a great experience!
I came here because I desperately needed a haircut and it was close by. I got a dry cut done by Kevin and it ended up being $28 (my hair was medium long for reference). Not only does Kevin ask what you want, but he also gives suggestions based on what suits your face. I loved my haircut so much that I recommended this place (and Kevin) to my friend, and she loves this place just as much. We came together for her haircut and Kevin recognized me just from my one visit! The salon is also very clean, and social distancing was well maintained. I wish my hair would grow out faster so I can get another haircut with Kevin lol.
This is my first time going to this hair salon and I am extremely pleased with my decision. I showed Kevin a picture of how I wanted my hair and he did exactly as I asked. I am extremely satisfied with the service and attention. My hair looks beautiful and already received so many compliments. Will make this my new hair salon.
Vivian did a beautiful job and has great spirits. Everyone there who were working on other clients also did a great job so I feel comfortable knowing everyone is experienced. Affordable hair cut and great customer service. What else do you need?
Started coming here recently due to my husband’s recommendation and Kevin has been taking care of us very well! He pays attention to detail and is very passionate about teaching others on proper hair care and styling techniques.(Now I can style my hair at home like a pro! :) )The whole staff is friendly and welcoming! It’s a very clean salon and would definitely recommend others for their hair styling needs!

Sharon has been color, highlight and cut my hair for the past few years, she does amazing job. My teenager son will not go to anyone besides Sharon. I brought few friends to Sharon to try out, now they have moved to NJ, they would still go back to Sharon to do hair..
Always have my hair cut here. The hairstylist is pretty patient everytime.
This should say beauty salon & barber! A couple of my friends (girls) go here and they said they also do mens hair so I tried them out. Ive gone to all the barbers on bell and this salon has consistently done the best job so far.

2022-02-13Please stay away from this place. I went in for a body wave for my daughter and possibly a keratin treatment for myself. Kevin quoted me $120 for my daughter’s perm. He said a keratin would be $280 or $360 depending on the treatment I chose. I decided not to do the keratin treatment but for the rest of the time I was at the salon, Kevin kept pushing me to do the keratin, showing me videos and pictures and continually lowering the price (lunar new year special, he said) to a rock bottom $220. I said no thanks. It was very uncomfortable.When my daughter was done, her hair was moderately wavy. Although it didn’t look anything like the pictures we showed him, we left satisfied that she had some waves. I tipped Kevin and the shampoo guy generously. When we returned home, the waves had loosened; a few hours later, it loosened even more (see first 2 pics). The day after, it was only slightly wavy (3rd pic). After washing on the 3rd day as Kevin instructed, all the waves were gone and her hair was rougher and frizzier than before the perm (4th pic). I brought her back to the salon the following week to show Kevin. I requested a refund for her perm ($120) because her hair was in worse condition and appearance than before I brought her to his salon. He refused, rolling his eyes at me and raising his voice. He offered to redo her hair and I declined, seriously afraid of the further damage he would cause. I genuinely regret coming to this salon.Upon further examining their licenses, it turns out they are licensed in cosmetology only. They are not color specialists or truly understand the chemical processing of hair. The shampoo guy that was applying chemicals to customer’s hair has a temporary license that is soon expiring. Please look for another salon. There are better options in the area.

2022-01-02This salon is a trip from our place (from Long Island to Bayside Queens) but me and my wife always make it a point to have our hair done in Y-F Beauty Salon. They are always warm, enthusiastic and really really awesome in their trade. Kudos to Kevin and his crew !!!

2022-06-20I went to the hair salon today. It was my first time going there. I was welcomed and they did a great job. I did solid hair color and and hair cut. Both was done beautifully. I will definitely go back to the salon next time. I wish I got their name but definitely they are very friendly hairstylist

2022-04-06I went for a Balayage and they did amazingly good. Vivian is an artist. Everyone was very nice and polite and the salon is very pretty. Whatever you pay here is worth it 👌. 100% recommend it. Vivian matched the haircut I wanted exactly how I wanted to look. She even recommended some features because of my face structure and hair color I chose. She is very dedicated to her final results. I left absolutely happy and definitely will return.

2022-07-24Love my new hair! Kevin and coco recommended that I do a single process to get rid of balayage highlights (I got tired of balayage). I got exactly what I asked for and in love with this darker color.

2021-07-06I found Y-F Elegant Beauty Salon on a whim and went in because they are highly reviewed. I was able to book same day and Vivian my hairstylist chatted with me about my hair and needs. She was very informative and took her time to make sure I was happy with the cut. She gave me recommendations on the style I wanted based on my hair type as well. Overall I was very impressed and look forward to coming back.

2020-12-29$45 for wash, cut, dry, and light style with Kevin (you can’t beat that!). He is extremely talented in what he does and you can tell he generally wants to give you something that you like and that suits you as well. He is also honest which I really appreciated - we both knew my hair was in bad condition. Nonetheless he worked his magic and my hair feels SO healthy. I can’t stop touching it. Kevin took his time to make sure everything was perfect. I’ll be back here again, and yes, it’s a 2 hour drive for me!!!!! See pics before washing (my hair in bad state) and how amazing it looks after he worked his magic.

2021-05-08This is hands down the absolute best place for haircuts and coloring that Ive ever been to, and Ive been to numerous salons in Queens and Manhattan over the years!I was first introduced to Kevin by mom, who followed him from another salon because she swore he always gives the prettiest haircuts, and now I completely agree. Kevin is not only extremely knowledgeable, but he listens so well and explains everything about your hair so you know what youre getting into before he makes a move. One time I asked for bangs, but after he explained the texture of my hair we were able to make a better decision about what works specifically for me. Every haircut Ive had from him has been perfect and easily maintained.This last time I went for a balayage. Vivian handled the coloring, and honestly Ive never had better results. She guided me well through the process and corrected years of bad coloring in one visit. I couldnt be happier! Vivian has years of experience in Manhattan and I could immediately tell from her personality and artistic results. The pictures speak for themselves (Ive posted before and after pics)!I will follow these two wherever they go as long as I can!

2021-04-05Very satisfied! My mom and sister love this place so I decided to give it a try to get my hair permed. I can see why they love it because everyone is super nice and genuine. They really listen to what you want but also give you their professional opinion but aren’t pushy about it; it’s very helpful. I was worried about my hair being too curly but Kevin walked me through everything and reassured me that he knew what I wanted and it won’t come out that way. He was right! It was exactly what I wanted and I’m super happy with my hair! Even though it’s an hour away, I’ll be coming here from now on.
