The library is a nice place to visit but there are two issues with this library... The women restroom is always dirty but my biggest concern is there are alot of homeless people from the shelter in the area. As a parent I would not feel safe letting my children visit alone because I do not feel safe.
First of all this place has 4floors!!!It’s really spacious and well organized. The staff is incredibly polite and respectful (on a Saturday morning! So you know they’re always this nice!)On the 4th floors where the adult area is, is very quiet. High cealings. Open concept room. The view is beautiful. The studying area is well distributed with group tables and a few individual desks each with charging station. The bathrooms are super clean! They actually smell pleasant. The 2nd floor is the kids floor where they have all of the kids books and computers where kids can actually play on the computers! They also have a few studying rooms, which is pretty impressive. They have a TV with announcements, children activities during the week.I was very impressed by this library. I will definitely be coming back and bringing my children to the activities!PS. They do not have parking. Street parking is $1/hr and the traffic police does patrol frequently.
Its located in Getty square! What else is there to say??? LolIts a very welcoming study environment. Everything this library is close to perfect except the freaking computer room. Its a complete mess. Looking at the size and beauty of the library, you would be expecting the computer room to be at least decent. But thats not the case. The computers are dated. The whole room is like the size of walk in closet. The chairs happen to be most uncomfortable thing I have ever encountered. If youre gonna go to this library please dont go the computer room. Its quite scary!!! Roar!!!
Registration for a new card was a sweet no-hassle snap at the main branch. A reprise visit to one of the branches also welcoming and all facilities including computer automation center a no-hassle experience to access (after reservation successfully completed) to all databases. New and other staff recommended offerings, some incredible selections (must-reads) also well presented. Public notices neatly posted, including learning and other opportunities and community info with sister organizations and institutions. More than adequate parking and access to public transit. Complete, warm, and, we overheard others say, a radical experience, to be return again.
An awesome Yonkers resource. This is a beautiful space. The offer such a variety of quality activities for all ages. A movie theater- are you kidding me? Its great to know that on a lazy rainy day you get go to this branch and feel like you have had a worth while day. This library has extended weekend hours and children have free access to cool perks like abc mouse, lego club, and art classes. If its warm when you visit, take advantage of the area. Go for a stroll by the waterfront, visit the science barge, and grab a bite to eat.
I use the Will and the downtown libraries which are so much more than the word suggests. Our libraries are active community social and educational centers that are vital to those they serve. The staff at both of these libraries are dedicated, hard working caring and personable. All the libraries in Westchester County are very fine but I am particularly proud of the Yonkers libraries because of all the services they provide that truly help our world become a better place.
Bad place, bad organization. They said my child will be at the school with transportation, and now they said that school don’t have transportation 😡😡😡my child doesn’t need attendees to the school yet !!!So they don’t care if your child go to school or no!!! And when you call them, they said speak to the supervised and he never pick up the phone
While the library is me and quite large I am unimpressed with the selection of materials, I always end up going online to pout books on interlibrary hold. I prefer the Will branch, but then again, putting books on hold is the way to go if there are specific books you want to read
Great library, offers the community a variety of events and services. However the computer room is a bit scary and usually smells. The computers are to close to one another and you have no privacy. The computer chairs look like ppl may have urinated on them. The women’s bathroom is usually dirty.Parking is a challenge and very expensive. If your attending an event or a class you can’t finish it because your meters up.And as far as allowing my children to visit alone. No way!
The library still has restrictions, even though restrictions have been lifted throughout the state. All people need a place to study and do their work. All the computers must be put back where they were before the pandemic started. We are not dragging this on any longer or else the library system will collapse
Definitely reading a good book is the best one can do, apart from the fact that the people of the place are friendly, and you find all kinds of books, this place was suitable to let the imagination fly, and that of the children too, I did. I recommend because it is never too much to be able to read a good book, and grow in many aspects, apart from the fact that the location offers many options you can read both inside the library and outside it, since there is a beautiful park, with trees, a river , so you have many options, this place is located in front of the train station, and very close to the Hudson River😉

2021-05-26It was way to get my library card today and Im so glad I did it! All you need is an ID and proof of address. There are also a nice array of activities that the library seems to sponsor including summer stem programs, grab and go crafts and tutoring! Theres also a literacy solutions program which provides reading and language comprehension for community members! There are computer labs to use for those with library cards and the art exhibit by Elvira Clayton on the fourth floor was awe inspiring and thought provoking (and open to all). Im excited to continue visiting my local library! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me find the books that I need. They communicate throughout the floors too to make sure youre getting the books you need. There are four floors; in the fourth floor staircase you have a beautiful view of the running river below.

2022-05-24There are nice librarians that provide good resources. Also they do a lot of educational programs for children and teens. This is the library where you can have study groups in study rooms. They are very conscious of others for the rooms as well.Update: The libraries are very helpful and they help you with whatever technical problems you are having. The have a good Tech Drop program every Mondays and Fridays take advantage of that.

2021-08-05My 5-year-old son got his first library card and he loved the experience. My nephews were also in tow. Theyve never been to the library. We explored and read books together. They are looking forward to visit again.

2021-11-20The study area is NOT quiet. It hard to be concentrated. People are talking on the phone. Even the front desk people in the study area are loud. But it is a very clean and spacious place.
