Weve been to the original Haeundae in Busan, S. Korea and had a wonderful time there, so we knew this one had to be good.Quality of meat was very good, service was just as good, but the best part - was enjoying their delicious bbq meat with their cold noodle (nengmyun) and the potato noodles.Their dessert however lacked instruction and execution. For example, I think the pear sorbet should have been shaved finer, I ran into a lot of big ice chunks. The sujunggwa that came with it, I wasnt sure if it should be poured over, drink it separately, it didnt cleanse my palette.Their floor is surprisingly super slippery so be careful.Overall, I think their Americanized version lacked their original Busan version, but the quality of meat was still there. It is pricier than typical KBBQs in K town, but again, no one else serves the potato noodles, so there is that.
Although we were disappointed that we wouldnt be able to cook the meat in front of us, however, I was super excited for the amount of food that was brought out so that somewhat made up for it. We decided to go for the marinated shortribs and they were soooo good and flavorful. For the appetizer I decided to try the steamed dumplings and they also were sooo good and hot to the point where i burnt my mouth lol. Would definitely recommend this place though, it was very cool trying some new items.
I normally regret going to Korean bbq because you walk out smelling like beef - but for Yoon I’d go everyday. So worth it. My cousins and I ordered the Prime Package at Yoon that came with fresh short rib, wagyu boneless short rib, brisket and dry aged ribeye. perfect for a group of four and we also added galbi dumplings (so so crispy and delicious) and the potato noodles that were cooked perfectly in a sweet soy sauce. You know the service is 10/10 when your waiter knows the camera has to eat first. Very clean restaurant and your waiter does all the cooking for you. Highly making a reservation and going ASAP!
Absolutely fantastic! Amazing service, super accommodating, delicious food and great ambiance.I think this is the best K bbq spot in New york. Drink selection is good as well. This restaurant is historical back in South Korea, handed down by generations and this is their first location in the city. What I like about this restaurant is that they keep the traditional bbq style yet their salad and other dishes have modern touch.Yes, they are bit pricey but you can’t compare their quality to any other K-town restaurants. We came for the friends/family celebration and Manager Henry was very professional and kept our company happy. Also the long hair bartender (forgot his name) was very nice. Bar is sorta separted from the restaurant, we had great time while waiting for our parties to arrive. This restaurant is must try in the city.
Our party of 5 made a reservation via Resy for a Sunday at 1 PM. My friend had requested KBBQ for her birthday lunch - this place had good reviews, and it was one of the only places that accepted reservations for lunchtime, so it was a done deal.Since KBBQ is very shareable, we ordered a BUNCH of dishes. Here is everything we ate (FYI, they dont have a lunch menu during the weekends - its just their dinner menu):Busan Neighborhood Pancake (scallion, galbi, shrimp, egg) - the flavors were nice but the texture was a bit too soggy for me. However, it was a nice change from the typical Korean scallion/seafood pancakes.Japchae (glass noodle, marinated short rib, bell pepper, mushroom, onion, chives) - really cannot go wrong with japchaeKorean Fried Chicken (boneless thigh, homemade sauce, pickled radish) - this was really good. The chicken was fried perfectly and the sauce was good. But, it was a little bit too salty for meSeafood Ricecake Tteokbokki (fried vegetable, crab, shrimp, manila clam, little neck clam, baby octopus, rice cake, fried egg) - they gave a lot of seafood so if you love seafood, this is the dish for youPrime/Mari Package (marinated short rib, beef belly, dry aged ribeye, wagyu flat iron) - honestly, I dont remember which cut was which but I just remember it all being good. We went with this package because we did want some of it marinated but not all because in my past experiences with KBBQ, all the marinades pretty much taste the same. Plus, if its quality beef (which it definitely was), you wouldnt need the marinade anyway - just a little bit of salt and youre good to goFor drinks, I had the W.A.P. Whiskey and Pomegranate (Bourbon, Pomegranate, Blood orange) - this was pretty good. I must say, their cocktails are pretty creative. Im glad its not just like other KBBQ places where they just have soju and beer (which they do have of course). Youll likely find a cocktail for every tastebud.Overall, it was a great KBBQ experience and I would love to come back!
Went here for a birthday meal. Loved it!! The wagyu is absolutely amazing. Everyone who works there is super nice!! One thing I would suggest is that they serve the wagyu last instead of first - we had it first and after that all the other meats just couldn’t compare. 😂 But honestly such a great meal, would definitely come back again for a special occasion!
Cant think of anything bad to say about this place. All the pros:* Food and service are great* Tables have dividers between them so youre not on top of each other* Small side dishes have free refills* The server cooks the food for you* The meat packages (we got the prime package) easily fed three peopleI recommend the prime meat package with the brisket for $136. The mochi ice cream was also great at $8 for two pieces.
I had a lunch at this jewel.Ordered the Uni-Mentaiko bibimbap for lunch. It is pricey but, you get what you pay for.Uni was served with generous amount, so as mentaiko. That perfect balance of creamy & salty was on point. Also the sorbet is fantastic along with the cinnamon tea.Highly recommended.Im coming back for the bbq now.
This is the branch made by the son of a famous galbi restaurant in Busan, Korea. If you are curious about Korean food or miss it, I strongly recommend this place.Usually, Korean restaurants in the U.S. have westernized the taste of Korea, so they do not feel the unique taste of Korea, but this place does not.
One of the best, Korean BBQ (no pork) experiences. It was a company dinner with 25+ at the room setting. Great accommodations with helpful manager and servers! Good wines for sure! If you plan to have 20+ ppl, you need to call ahead and plan. I definitely come again for the double date with my mate. Hidden gem!
We ordered the marinated package, salt and pepper chicken, marinated short ribs, and one sorbet. All in all, the meat was extremely delicious and fresh. The salt and pepper chicken was juicy and it was a large portion for the price. The sorbet was fine, but it was free because it was a birthday dinner. I do want to warn you though that we had 6 people, and this amount of food was enough to keep us satisfied, but not filled. For over $250, I expected to be more than satisfied. Unlike other similar restaurants I went to, the waitress cooked all of the food for us instead of us cooking it ourselves. The waitress worked with us closely to pick what was best to the table.
This place is really personalized and cute. I have been here two times and each time, I had an amazing dining experience. I can’t wait to go again and experience this with more people. I love the ambiance and the staff. Bernard Is very kind, and on a random day of the week was thoughtful enough to talk to us and other patrons about their favorite cuts of meat and talk dessert. Our waitress, Inyung was also very kind and took the time to talk NYC restaurants. Thanks for a great dining experience in NYC!
Good food, great service, reasonable price. Went with 5 people for a work dinner and everyone left full. Everything was great and the service was top notch. Drinks were always coming, water always full. Meat ordered was always being cooked and on rotation (unless we needed a break from all the food). They even spilt up apps and entrees we ordered since we were splitting everything. Definitely will go back again.
I had the prime rib eye and persimmon arugula salad. The rib eye was of the good. It had a good texture and taste. The composition of the persimmon arugula salad was good, but the amount of sauce was not adequate. There was too much sauce, and the sauces flavor was so strong that I couldnt feel the taste of the other ingredients.
The food here is always good and consistent. We had the meat combo where it was half marinated. The beef belly was probably our least favorite item otherwise it was another great dining experience here. One thing to mention is the bartender had his mask off the whole time we were at the bar waiting to be seated (about 15 mins). Hoping the restaurant can do a better job at enforcing the masks for all staff.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is of superior quality. Always fresh and prepared with care and expertise. Everything is delicious but our favorite is the marinated galbi. It just melts in your mouth! Very authentic delicious Korean food and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Why did I choose Yoon Haeundae Galbi? The first thing that caught my eye is the story of this restaurant. It was my birthday I booked a table for 5 people, but later on some of my friends could not make it so I had to change it for 3 people. I received a text from the restaurant with some guidance and there was an option to text back if I want to modify my reservation. So I did and a few minutes later I got an email confirmation with changes. I could not update my reservation by myself online as I passed due time. We came on time, we checked in, our table was ready for us. We ordered Prime Meat Package with Lettuce Ssam Set, Crispy Potato Pancake and Korean Fried Chicken. We were not sure if the meat package would be enough for 3 of us, but at the end we were full although we did not even try fried chicken. For drinks we got Wicked Pfizer, Hummy (White Peach) and Draft Beer. The food was not just good, it was delicious and tasty. They brought everything fast enough, although it was quite crowded. The staff of nice, very prompt and friendly. The place itself is very cozy, the design is pleasing to the eyes, the light is slightly dimmed. Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures, but with no doubts I can say it is my favorite Korean restaurant at the moment.
Highly recommend! I’ve tried a handful of Korean bbq restaurants and this one has been my favorite! All bbqs have their own specialities but this place was impressive in all aspects. My friend and I came in for lunch an hour before closing and were taken right away. I appreciated the service. Hostess and waiters were kind, attentive, and very helpful. It was a welcoming feeling. The servers cook the meat for you to perfection, I appreciated their tips. The cuts they put in the meat helped cook it all perfectly. I can’t stop thinking about how good it all was! We loved the drinks, dumplings, short ribs, and bulgogi. The lettuce made all the flavors come together beautifully. Next time I probably wouldn’t get all the sides, felt like it was a little wasteful. I’ve been here for dinner and felt a bit rushed, not the best experience you can have from here. The couple times I’ve come for lunch have been absolutely incredible thanks to Shirley. You can be confident that your going to have the best experience if she’s your server. Looking forward to coming back!
Its the best Korean BBQ and I have been to spots in LA and in Seoul. Their signature diamond cut adds incredible texture which is amplified in their marinated galbi.Do try their other dishes such as naengmyeon and busan pancake. Those are delicious as well. Add to it a great ambience and excellent service; its truly a fine spot!
The best Korean BBQ I’ve had in a while. The meat quality is superb and the servers cook them for you. But having been here a couple of times by now, I definitely noticed they are quite strict about the timing of your table. The server checked on the table too often making you feel pressured to order food or pay the cheque, unfortunately that really undermines a pleasant dining experience.
I’ve been to Yoon several times before covid. Their bbq and soy bean stew are great. Recently, I tried their takeout menu. Ordered four different dishes, and everything was too salty. Oyster Manila Clam Bibimbap had too much sauce, which overpowered all the other ingredients’ flavors. I had to add my leftover rice, but it was still salty, so I couldn’t finish them all. Octopus over rice also had too much sauce - they should have given the sauces separately. Main dishes came with mini soups, and those tasted like salted water. I gave 3 stars since I liked their food when I dined at the restaurant, but I won’t order pickup again.
The food was usually good. However, I was surprised by the poor service. The food I ordered arrived just before I left. Also, the staff did not apologize when they dropped their chopsticks on my clothes. It was the first time I was treated like this and it made me sad. I will never go back.
One of the best Beef Korean bbq in town (at least from these I visited)Very modern and not too busy inside. The cocktails served are very original, using Korean liquor, and extremely yummy. The meat options are very varied and price remains decent despite the great quality of the meat offered. The staff is gentle and not pushy, and most important they cook the meat at perfection for you. So you only need to seat back and enjoy.Would 100% recommend this place for a nice dinner date
Had a pleasant time here. The quality of meats were excellent, they actually tasted like butter. My friend and I ordered the prime lunch package which included short rib, brisket and ribeye and they were all amazing. They came with typical korean side dishes which were good. I loved the Busan Neighborhood Pancake as an appetizer -- probably the best scallion pancake Ive had in Manhattan. It had galbi in it which are beef short ribs, a must try!The decor was also cute and whats surprising in the end of our meal was the reasonably priced bill for the quality we received! Hey it was a lot for lunch but worth it.
The selection of meats is incredible here. They offer marinated and fresh beef cuts for korean bbq. There are also many appetizers and main dishes to choose from. The soy bean stew is rich in beefy deliciousness. The decor is modern and clean, and there is a nice bar area out the front. Their bbq grill has many vents on the side so our clothes still smelled fresh when we left :)
Terrible experience! They placed the 2 of us in a over crowded tiny room with no ventilation! So loud and stinky! I asked for other table but they said they have “a private party” which wa snot where to be seen. I saw two people sitting at a 4 people table just having drinks. And we orders the whole thing, the bbq, drinks and all… and.. btw… they kick yog out after 1h30min 😳!!! For the price you pay you better go somewhere else. Food ok, but the ambiance terrible!! Will never go there again! And would recommend to waste your money somewhere else? Many options in the area!
Yummy food and great service. Good for a date or after work gathering with coworkers. They have korean bbq that you cook yourself which seemed like a massive amount of food for 2 people to share so we shared a different option that comes already cooked from the kitchen. We tried the avocado and shrimp salad which was refreshing but the avocado wasn’t fully ripe, I believ it would have been tastier if it.All the food was fresh and flavorful.
Visited this place again and unlike the last time I visited 2 years ago, the quality of food really impressed. Their mung bean pancake was tasty and big without being doughy. Their soybean paste stew had a rich broth that was thick and full of flavor. Their marinated kalbi was top notch with its generous portions. The service is great and they take their COVID restrictions seriously. Their ambiance is OK. We were in the back of the restaurant in this separate room and it was a bit weird because we were so close to the kitchen.
Fantastic K-BBQ of the main strip! If the crowd on the main strip of Ktown gives you anxiety, fear not! This will not disappoint! A more up class restaurant but it’s worth every penny!Food 5/5On point! We sat outdoor so they brought a portable gas stove and bbq our meat in front of us. Delicious! Fresh flavorful meat. Got the short ribs, it melted in our mouth. My favorite was the fried chicken. OMG, crispy, juicy and coated with this heavenly seasoned sauce. The fried rice cake was soooo good. Rice cakes are usually so dense, but after deep frying, its so fluffy and crunchy. Simply amazing. And what I love most is the quality of the free side dishes. Really tasty, high quality food and guess what... free refills and no need to ask, they refill by themselves when they see it’s empty.Service 5/5So very helpful and friendly. Super attentive. Everyone was wearing a mask and following covid protocolsAmbiance 5/5Well built outdoor dining structure, beautifully decorated with flowers. Indoors was great too, but it was quite busy so we opted for outdoors. We made reservations and we were seated immediatelyWe left feeling soooo full!
This is the best Korean BBQ place in Manhattan, and cannot emphasize more that this place should be receiving a star from the Michelin Guide. They have great meat, but the marinated beef (Galbi) is their signature, and you must try it.If you are in Manhattan, enjoy Korean food, and do not know a decent place, this is the place to go!
The staff was very kind and when I ordered I got a few tastings in the smaller cups. Every single one of them tasted good! I had a steak with asperges, shii-take and soybean sauce and it was amazing. The beef was incredibly tender and tasty. Highly recommend it to anyone!
I like yoon haeundae galbi. They have long experience in South Korea. It’s Legend Galbi place in Busan. It’s very hard time to serve inside dinning, but, they serve best dish for take out customers.I ordered sets of two galbi, yoon chicken and mulhae(calamari). Every dishes were so good. I’m so happy.I’m strongly recommend here.Try this Galbi.
Server need to many more trainings. We order duk galbi and when we ordered mentioned my kid have nuts allergies and waited over 30mins ( it was wait too long) food came with nuts toppings. This is not all. They said will make again. Another 20mins waiting then food came and the server mentioned that moments “ nuts inside” LOL. Finally my son can’t eat the food after waiting 50mins. I can’t believe this can be happened in USA. still use nuts ingredients and didn’t know nuts is inside or not. They will high chance of big trouble later. The food also even not good at all.
Top Korean BBQ Experience!High quality meat with service from staff! There are many Korean BBQ place but this place is BEST. Been open for little less than two years. Go for “Saeng Gal Bi”. They only prepare a limited amount of this meat and once they are out it’s off the menu for that night. I will try other menus next time and review but Five star for ambience, staff and quality of “Saeng Gal Bi”
Came here for lunch and we got lunch specials.Got the premium bbq for two with wagyu beef, a seafood pancake, cold noodle, two sets with grilled fish and marinated short ribs. Tofu soup and kimchi soup. The portion was small and the seafood pancake was quite far from the conventional seafood pancake. I guess that’s why they didn’t name it that way. The cold noodle was fine, though of small amount. The meat was ok, but the sauce was bad since you only got salt and a tasteless oil.No refill of side dishes. (I did asked once)High prices even for lunch. Not worth the money. Would give three stars if it is cheaper.
The $105 meat combo was a little pricey but the meat was of great quality. The banchan was very very good as well; three of us finished five portions of kimchi. Of the meats, my favorite was the raw steak because on their deeper-in-the-table grills with proper grill management, medium rare ribeye pops in your mouth. Also the service was top-notch, from the bartender who took care of me to the hostesses who ensured my party was taken care of to the waiters who took care of me.
Went here on a date night with my hubby, and it was delicious! We ordered a meat platter with Wagyu to share and it was more than enough for the two of us. You can refill the appetizers, which is a plus! Also - their selection of Korean soju is pretty awesome! Great cocktails - I sure did feel tipsy pretty soon after my first drink.
I’ve been to both this and the original location in Busan - and the galbi quality is always perfect!!! The meat feels like it is melting in your mouth - I think it has to do with the way they cut the beef. The service is always on point as well - there are always 2-3 people watching over your table to ensure great service. They also have some other really standout items: pajun is topped with egg for added flavor/texture, their galbi soup dumpling is supposed to be eaten in one bite and it literally explodes with flavor, and you can add potato noodles at the end of your meal, cooked in galbi broth. After experiencing the galbi here, I don’t know how I can go back to any of my former ktown usual spots!
Officially my go-to spot for Korean BBQ in NYC. The set packages are reasonably priced and represent a good range of grillable goods. Not to be overlooked, the bonchon is fantastic as well. Staff here are attentive and friendly, ready to answer questions if youre less familiar with Korean fare. They also expertly prepare the meat so you can throw back some shoju and enjoy the evening. Will be back, hopefully soon.
Pretty decent. The tables are waaaay too side though making it impossible to talk with your guest or date. Us and many others crammed over to one small side of the tables so you could actually talk. The food was decent quality but with some tougher cuts of steak that were frankly hard to chew.Staff is very attentive though which is appreciated. Overall fine.
Second time trying. Pretty good all around especially for takeout. Clam bibimbap was good. Fried chicken is not greasy or dry. I had the galbi last time which was also good. Soups and banchan were great both time. Knocked off a star because the bulgogi was weirdly just boiled meat with no sauce? Maybe skip this set.
Fav bbq spot in NYC!Due to covid19, the server takes temperature check when seated and give sanitizer. For bbq grill, a waitress brings portable grill to grill for everyone.Galbi was really great quality melted in my mouth. Delish! 비빔밀면 is my summer favorite. I would definitely come back for 비빔밀면 anytime.
Used to love this place when it first opened but the quality and taste of the food seem to have deteriorated. The kimchi stew isn’t as flavorful as it used to be when it first opened, the meats are of average quality when compared to other Korean BBQ places nearby, the cold noodles are just meh in recent times as well. It does have a modern/chic vibe, and the staff is generally well-trained and friendly, which is why I’m giving it a 4-star rating.
Came here with my family. We got one of the meat platters and bibimbap. The food was great and I loved the side dishes. For the most part the service was very good although they never refilled our side dishes which was sad. A bit on the pricier side but very delicious.
Saw this as a recommended kbbq place on Instagram and it did not disappoint! Get the prime package and youll get all the good stuff! They cook the meat for you and its a plus that they grill the meat for you. Sides are tasty as well! Service is really good. The price that you pay is worth it!
Place is nice and clean. Galbi was really good it just melts in your mouth. My girl thought it was just okay and said orginal Busan spot in SK is better. The Soybean stew was tasty but a bit too salty. Price is fair for NYC and I would definitely comeback. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Ive grown in haeundae so i missed the real galbi though. Our family was looking for the best korea bbq in usa so it was not to our family. It was like focusing on the various peoples tastes. If you like to have a little salty food, maybe will be good though. In my opinion, the banchans of all was salty and the food was also salty. I just want to have fresh banchan with sanggalbi. But it was not my taste. My main server was a little busy and not good at baking meets but kind. The atmosphere was clean and good. Im literally favor of bbq eater in usa, i hope to be better Korean food in here.
Service 5 star. We plan to order 2 packages for 3 people , the waiter strongly recommend not cause one package is pretty much (although we turned out to order 2 packages)Taste 5 star. The meat is good quality, especially recommend cold noodle - its the best cold noodle in NYC.Environment 5 star. Its clean and quiet. Unlike most Korean BBQ with loud noisy music, people dont need to shout to get heard. Its a little pricy (the meat package is not that much) but def worth it.
Ordered various dishes, the place looks clean and fancy...and thats the best thing I can say about this place..food was expensive, and small in portion, not an authentic Korean ( Im Korean)- you would not like it if you are looking for authentic style.the waitress appears to speak in fluent semi-Korean/semi-English.which I could not understand.the bean paste casserole(duan jang jigae) did not come with a bowel of rice...that means you dont know how eat the casserole.it was basically salted soup. it was impossible to eat the casserole alone. never meant to.considering the tip was already calculated into the check, it was too expensive and not enjoyable to eat at that place. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants around there that are worth you money and enjoyable.
Truly fantastic Korean food. The lunch is streamlined and is not cooked at the table as dinner is, but it’s a great deal with tons of food displayed beautifully on large individual trays. The beef is unreal, sliced in intricate ways and cooked perfectly. It melts in my mouth. This place…!!!
I liked the quality of beef. Good was tasty for the most part. We got the dinner meat package and liked most of it. But they did not have certain cuts of beef packages even though it was pretty early in 6/7pm AND substituted everything they didn’t have with this oily cut of beef that was just bubbling with a lot of fat. The place was packed and the main waiter gave me attitude (a small dose nothing crazy) after I asked a simple question about the meat cuts they substituted. I really love Korean bbq bc it’s kind of like a fun activity you can do while talking and eating but this place has a stuffy environment with the waiters coming and doing all the grilling while you watch and stop your conversation. Also seating is a bit weird with you being too close to other people (they checked vaccination cards thank god) and the plastic things they use to separate tables is kinda useless and prevent you from getting out easily. For a restaurant that’s a lot pricier then other places, I guess I expected more.
First time trying this ever in New York. I was not disappointed. By far the absolute best Korean BBQ I spot. Very sophisticated. Great ambiance and service staff. They took us on short notice without any reservations. Never been to a BBQ place where the beef was that tender!! Please give this place a try. Its totally worth the money.
I came here with my hubby and we ordered a meat platter with Wagyu to share and it was more than enough! You can refill your appetizers, win! Also, their selection of Soju is pretty awesome. Followed by a happy hour with cocktails that will definitely get you going. Awesome place for a quiet dinner (thanks to the high ceilings and generous amount of space designed into the restaurant’s layout!).
I went to this restaurant on 5/16/21 with three girlfriends to celebrate the birthday of one of them. The food was great, but the customer service was poor. We brought a surprise homemade cake but each of us had to pay $2 for a CAKE FEE. Yes, for real. However, they didnt bother to take out the cake of its steel pan or to come to sing happy birthday. Moreover, the waiter basically threw the plates and cutlery on the table; Even my Asian friend thought this was disrespectful and unprofessional.
Delicious KBBQ — a bit surprising that there isn’t ssamjang among the side dishes.Docking a star here for service, especially with an included gratuity for large parties. We had to ask each time for side dishes to be replenished, which seemed a bit unreasonable after the first or second time.
We tried the prime package and the marinated package. Both were amazing. Besides the steaks, the must-try is the Galbi fried chicken; the group I was with agreed it was among the best chicken we’d ever had. The drinks are great too, and the service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
Drinks are strong just how I like it. However, they dont have any non spicy rice entrees although it states (non spicy) so just had to order white rice. That was a waste of money since I dont do spicy. The packages are reasonable however the last selection we got was just straight fat I wish they didnt have it on the menu. But I did like the experience overall.
-FoodBeautifully marbling beef. Generally high quality and good portion. Ordered Galbi mandoo for appetizer and prime package for main dish, then spicy noodles for cleaning our palate. It was the perfect portion for 3 people.-ServiceServer was nice and very attentive. He provided tips on how to enjoy Korean BBQ and happy hour info. It was really useful and appreciated a lot. There was one bad part about the entire experience. Is there anything more unpleasant than going to a restaurant and find yourself in the hands of impolite hostesses? Two hostesses there both were not friendly at all and seemed like they tarnished the restaurant images.Definitely I will visit again. But next time I hope to have a great experience from start to finish.
This restaurant has a bipolar attitude. The first time we ate here, we were impressed by the quality of food and conviviality of the waitress. Therefore we returned to dine here after about a month. And it was a totally different experience this time. The staff was obnoxious and kept us under stress, waiting for us to gobble down our dinner and be gone. Now, we all understand that there is a curfew of 10pm imposed by the city during covid19, but this weird attitude was on display even at 8.30pm. Why? .... If customers are braving this cold weather and pandemic-induced difficulties and still coming to your restaurant, at least show them some respect and hospitality.
Way over priced. $200 for two people with tip included. Steak was fatty. Ordered two captain Morgans and they came in shot glasses. For this it was $30. Basically paid $100 for the salad. Which was delicious to be fair. Very nice staff. Much better places to go to at much better prices.
Even though my party and I were a bit late to our reservation, the people working were incredibly nice and making sure we got to our seats and were warm. The food is probably some of the best korean food Ive had! Whenever Im in NYC, I always make sure to stop by here!
Usually I never bother to leave a review, but this restaurant truly deserves my time of day to leave one. I stumbled upon this place on accident, while my girlfriend and I were looking for a good Korean BBQ place in K-Town. We first sat at the bar while we waited for our table. Our bartender Andres was awesome, he took care of us and recommended us to try the short rib patty and dumplings which were full of flavor. When we got sat, we had the Prime Package, which was more food than we anticipated. The steak was great quality and full of flavor. We also had some Japanese Whiskey and cocktails with our dinner. Our waiter Henry was on point throughout the service. The place was far more impressive than we ever expected. Having tried many restaurants in the city, definitely would top one of our favorites, and will come back again. Phenomenal experience and would highly recommend this place.
I ordered here via Uber Eats for pick-up. I got Galbi Bibimbap and Soy Bean Stew. The Galbi Bibimbap is good, but I can barely eat the meat because its not tender enough. But the flavor and seasoning, its good. It would be perfect if the meat is tender. The Soy Bean Stew is also good and savory with a kick; a bit spicy.About the service, I cant say much because we didnt dine in. But as soon as I entered I was greeted with a smile. Will be back to try out their other menu items.
They keep trying to charge me cancellation fee when I had to cancel because of my group had contact with COVID patients. I called and explain we had to cancel out of safety concerns for their staff and customers, they still had the audacity to charge me two days later.
Yoon Haeundae Galbi is one of our favourites for KBBQ in the city, possibly because weve been fortunate to have been able to go since before the pandemic. However, for this review, we were able to participate in indoor dining for the first time since it was allowed, and we were able to reserve a seat at Yoon! For reference, we have had a lot of KBBQ experiences in Toronto and had a really high bar for either the quantity of food, or the quality of food. We have had the spectrum when it comes to food, drinks, and service.Yoons is one of our favourites for KBBQ, and thats a tough spot to get in our list! The banchan is fantastic. The potato and fish cakes in particular are ones that I was crushing (and not sharing), but we were eating them all pretty equally. Shout out to the pickled radish and broccoli banchan, as well.We ordered the Prime Package, for two, and were greeted with an excellent platter of some very fresh beef. The server started the cooking, and the smells of the meat cooking on the grill in front of us (with us doing none of the work!) only made us hungrier.Gotta say, all of the different cuts available in the Prime Package were amazing, and cooked perfectly (again, without us doing any work) within minutes of being put down. Which leads me to my last point, which is that the service here is impeccable.I have had the privilege to have eaten here numerous times before COVID, and then once more since the pandemic hit, and their service is always on point. They attend frequently, but also stand back to allow you and your fellow diners to converse and enjoy each others company, while making sure everyone is able to eat constantly until the food runs out.Always an excellent meal at Yoons. Really hope to come back soon!
Best Korean BBQ we have ever had. The restaurant manager, Adrian, is beyond friendly and great for a chat. Our first visit, the owner, Bobby, happened to stop by the table and buy us a drink. The food is awesome, the people are even better. After living in NYC one year, this is our favorite restaurant.
Meat was high quality, tender, and delicious. Had both soups and they were extremely rich but went well as a compliment to the meat. The side dishes were a bit lacking though. Would expect a little more variety from a korean bbq spot to be honest. Service was great although a bit slow because we were a big group. All in all a positive experience
The server (young lady) messed up the order 3 times. We ordered 2 cold noodles, and there were 15 minutes time delay after we received 1st noodle. I basically got mine when my girlfriend was done eating. I also asked when we will get the appetizer after we cleared main dishes (Kalbi) server was being rude and said “Oh.. do you still want it?”What kind of attitude is that after messing up the orders 3 times and got my meal when my girlfriend was done eating.I should’ve been fine if there was an apology, but not a single apology, keep saying “I gave you extra sauces” when I told her we haven’t received our 2nd order.. Rude attitude and can’t even communicate.
I just ordered short rib soup and it took two hrs to get it delivered to my house. But the real problem was when the little scallion that came with the soup went bad but I already dumped it in my soup not knowing that so my soup was not edible. I smelled the rotten/old scallion as soon as I put it in my soup. The soup is ok but if they can’t maintain the quality and the freshness of the food, I would never order from here again.
We reserved a dinner for two (my fiancé and I). I am African American and my fiancé is Indian. We walked in the front at 8:25, 5 minutes before our reservation and eager to eat. We were ignored for the first few minutes until I said “hello?? We’d like to check in for our 8:30 reservation?” Still we were ignored. My fiancé then asked one of the MANY servers walking by us who we speak to and the guy says (very obnoxiously) oh that’s the server he’ll get to you”. Next we are asked for our name and and I tel the server and ask if we could please be seated inside. “Yeah I know that...you already have an inside table just give me a moment (again VERY RUDE!) then we’re sent upstairs. Everyone (including servers) start staring at us as if they’ve never seen an interracial couple before?? Then I realized that this isn’t where I want to eat and spend my money. If you are a person of color DO NOT EAT HERE. Please save your money and try a different location as there are many options just a few blocks away.
Got the prime lunch package for two and the marinated package for two. Overall the quality of the meat is very good. I felt a little jipped on the brisket (chadol) - it felt like we only got 10 pieces of that. But I must admit the soybean stew may have been one of the greatest things Ive ever tasted - I would come back just for that. It definitely has me curious about some of the other items on the menu besides the bbq.
This is a more upscale Korean restaurant then the usual places in Koreatown. Its spacious and theres no line of people at the door being asked to give their order before they even sit down. It is a little more expensive but the quality, presentation and creativity of the food is better. We opted to have the $90 meat combination which was really interesting. Ive never been to a Korean restaurant that demonstrated cooking four cuts of beef so clearly. The dumplings were delicious as well but there werent enough of them. Id rather pay more to have an order of 6 rather than 3. They are bigger than your usual mandoo and beautifully presented. The Korean pancake is much thinner and crisp year than Ive had in other places. Once you finished the barbecue of meats definitely get the potato noodles to finish it off. They served a very refreshing shaved ice dessert with cinnamon drink at the end which was a palate-cleansing way to finish the meal.
My friends and I came here because all the other kbbq places were too packed and the wait were hours long. I think there was no wait here because it’s not all you can eat but wow were we SUPER glad we came here. The quality of their meat is excellent! It was probably quality we weren’t going to get at the other kbbq places. They give you good quality and a good amount too! The meat melts in your mouth
If you are looking for the best Korean restaurant in New York, this is a must-visit place. Yoon offers a legit Korean barbecue (especially the Short-lib is to die for!) and the traditional dishes in a modern and cozy environment. I have visited Yoon several times with my family, friends and co-workers, and it was always satisfying. This means that Yoon’s authenticity works for both Koreans and non-Koreans. The service is also worth mentioning because all staffs including the owners Bobby and Elaina truly love the restaurant and are willing to listen to the customers feedback carefully. Great job guys!
I cant say enough good things about this place. The servers are all very attentive, but not in an annoying way. We had 10 different things of the menu and they were all delicious. The owner greeted us as well as the hostess when we entered. He came over during the meal to make sure everything was good and I even saw him cook for two tables. I will definitely be going back
Love this place. They execute Korean BBQ perfectly. The Bulgoki mando is unbelievably good. The banchan is some of the best in the area. The meat is of excellent quality and tastefully seasoned. The best part is that the place very clean and the service is extremely professional unlike most places in k town. Very nice job!
Alright, so if you’re like me, you’re unimpressed by the caliber of Korean food in Ktown. It’s no mama’s cooking let’s say that. BUT, Yoon Haeundae Galbi is excellent. It’s definitely on the pricier side for the meat combos, but the quality of the meat, sides, service, atmosphere more than make up for it. The bar upstairs is also fantastic. Loved the Korean Billionaire (stronger side) and the Pink Love (strawberry cocktail). The bartenders are also great!
Not perfect, but would definitely go back. This place has something that most of the other Korean restaurants are missing - DEPTH. Korean food is all about depth. Its all about bringing out the flavor of each ingredient by investing lots of time and effort. Many Korean restaurants use MSG and sugar to mimic the depth because they dont care about the integrity of Korean cuisine.-Plain (not marinaded) short rib was very good. Flavor of the meat was rich and beefy. Quality was great. They cut the meat in a special way to enhance the texture.-Marinaded short rib was good. It was sweet but bearable. The marinade tasted more refined and sophisticated than other Korean BBQ joints.-Bulgogi was bad. It was just sweet (too sweet). I decided not to cook noodles in the broth after tasting it. It was basically sugar water and disgustingly sweet. They need to improve on balancing the flavors.-Soy bean paste soup was slightly sweet but there was depth in the broth. Wonder if they put sugar in the broth (hope not) or the sweetness came from onions?-Spicy beef noodle soup was very good but the broth was also kind of sweet. The noodles werent handmade like how I would like them to be, but the texture wasnt bad at all.-Kimchi fried rice was nicely acidic and flavorful but I think they put too much sugar when they were stir-frying kimchi. Wish it wasnt too sweet.Glad to find a Korean restaurant that Im willing to go back multiple times.
Best Korean bbq restaurant! They have only 3 kinds of meat, but it was just right. I’v never tried galbi and bulgogi like this in my life. The meat price was from 32 to 40. I know it sounds little pricy but it deserves it. Their cut of galbi looks very special to me, nothing like i have seen from other k-town restaurants. i don’t know why it was just so good. Also, the potato noodle was very brilliant! They use marinated sauce and cooked on the same grill which has lots of flavor on the grill after the meat. They cooked longer than i though, so it was little bit a musy and chewy at the same time! That was actually my favorite menu.
Absolutely great service. We arrived quite earlier than a reservation we had made so we were expecting to wait, but the reception gentleman handled it very smoothly. Both main dish and banchan tasted good. A bit pricey for the portion to be honest, but for the ambiance and quality of food, worth it.
Outdoor area built into a fairly busy road, which gives the place a buzzy energy. Temperatures taken and hand sanitizer provided as soon as we sat down. They are doing outside BBQ, which they bring to the table, though our party didnt order it on our visit. Food and drinks on point. Come earlier in the evening to avoid the garbage truck pickup!
I came here with my friends last weekend, I liked their bus an style pancake, and I also loved their meats. Drinks were more reasonable price than other places. Service was great too. Definitely recommend this place who is looking for a cool place to eat with friends or family.
Overall good experience and good food. Staff do the barbecuing for you, so all you have to do is choose the meat and then sit back to enjoy. The fresh kalbi and marinated kalbi are both good, but the marinated kalbi is a bit more flavorful and tender. Recommend following the barbecue with potato noodles cooked in broth from the fat/residue of the meat.
The first time —— amazing. Amazing food and amazing service. It is a little more expensive but it worth it.Second time —— okay. Perhaps we changed the meat which was not the style we like.Totally speaking, you do really want to try this place. You will be impressed if you are the first time.
Fantastic place. The owner is wonderful the service very attentive and the food is phenomenal. You have to try the fried chicken. Yes I said try the fried chicken. The mixed marinate and steak kit when there is waygu as the manager special is the way to go. I have been there a number of times and love it.
I highly recommend the Korean BBQ place. The food quality and service are amazing ! I recommend you to try Galbi dumpling, meat, and the signature potato noodle. All foods are delicious, but those three dishes are amazing!!!! If considering a Korean BBQ place, you should to visit Yoon Haeundae galbi. You will not be disappointed!!!

2022-04-03I love Korean barbecue! This place is nothing but a treat. All the meats, except one I tried, were nearly perfect. I constantly love the experience of Korean barbecue. If you’re a lover of meats, you can’t miss out on this! 😍😍😍😍 the short rib dumplings (fried) were super delicious as well.

2021-09-24This is without a doubt my favorite Korean restaurant in all of America. My wife and I randomly chose this spot as we were craving cold noodles. Didnt have that much expectations. When we first got to the restaurant you had to show your vaccination card, photo id, and then temperature check. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance and the staff very professional/courteous.The short rib dumplings was absolutely amazing. The cold noodles is probably one of the best I ever had. We decided to come back the next day for the Korean BBQ and it was outstanding. The quality of the meat was top notch and the portions very fair. The side dishes was also fresh and tasty.I was surprised this restaurant got a 4.5 average stars rating on google, in my opinion it should be higher.

2022-02-11Pretty good Korean barbecue. We got the prime package, a soup and rice. It came with wagyu which tasted great. The side dishes were delicious. The service was okay though. They cooked the meat way too fast and it felt rushed.

2022-05-17Everything was wonderful except the service. I have to try multiple times to get the servers attention when she walks right past our table multiple times. We sat at a table by the bar area, so the service suffers since they are also working the bar and it is a hassle to work both the bar and walk around the tables. Reservations are recommended if you want to do BBQ. The hostesses were very nice and accommodating. The marinated short rib ssam set is superb and great for parties of 2-3 people to share. The wagyu wrap and busan pancake are not to miss!

2022-01-17Upscale Korean BBQ. Good stuff!Definitely a worthy Korean BBQ place in Ktown. The meat itself could be improved. The main stars are the side dishes that you can order. The Neighbor Pancake and the Busan noodles were both great. You have to order the ssam separately, which is unusual for Korean restaurants, however, the ssam comes with special sauces. The banchans were on point.Highly recommend this place!

2022-05-03The service here is superb. We sat at the bar since they were booked (best to make reservations) but still received great service. The bar tender was attentive and helpful despite juggling a lot of drink orders. The food menu was explained thoroughly and they really look out for any allergies. I got the Korean fried rice which came with multiple small sides and 5 pieces chicken. It was filling and delicious. They also have a great selection of Soju.

2022-04-17Had dinner at Yoon last night and had a great experience. The Korean bbq including steak, short rib, pork belly & other meats were all delicious. The massive seafood dish (pictured below) was tremendous, as was the kimchi fried rice. The cocktails were enjoyable, including several classic martini’s that weren’t on the drink menu. I’d highly recommend you grabbing 5 friends and having dinner here, I know I will again soon!

2022-02-25Very pleasant experience — excellent service, nice decor, and a pretty damn good bbq. I found their marinated short rib to be not as butter-soft and tender as, say, Baekjong but bulgogi and beef belly were delicious. The place is less rowdy than most of the other k bbq ones in the area which is nice if you’re looking for a quieter atmosphere. Bonus for an excellent selection of soju and rice wines.

2022-03-06Ive eaten here a couple of times and both were delicious, the first time we did bbq at the table and the second time I had one of the ssam dishes. Both were amazing, so if you miss out on a bbq table, fear not, because the other menu is just as good.
