The food is delicious, and fresh.The young guy and young lady are so nice and fun,I could swear I landed in Abj every time I hear Yopcity bonjour.I love their foutou(I order it every Wednesday).Great food,great customer service over the phone, only down side is the price. Lamb Shank, Braised Guinea Fowl, Couscous, Rice and Cocktail De Fruit drink were all delicious. Everything was beautifully seasoned and cooked just right. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

2022-05-30So delicious. I feel like I just traveled to Abidjan and my grandma cooked all of my favorite foods. This food is authentic, the service is phenomenal, and the owners are so sweet. If you’ve never had west African food, this place will make you wonder what you’ve been doing your whole life. GO IN THERE, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

2022-08-22I’ve never left a review before, but this special little restaurant is such a GEM that I want to give it the attention it deserves.Impression: Yop City serves a small menu of lovingly prepared West African dishes in a sweet little restaurant nestled between so many Italian spots along Arthur Ave. I wasn’t super hungry walking in, but I got the feeling from speaking with the owner that this is the kind of place that takes real pride in what they do so I wanted to try the food, hungry or not. I’m really glad I did. The meal and the vibe were on the money. We ordered the grilled lamb with white rice and the ginger drink. It was a beautiful dish… well seasoned and exceptionally tender chops (and an excellent portion) with an onion and pepper relish that added a good deal of heat and acid, perfectly balancing the richness of the meat and rice. It was a hearty meal but we devoured it all. This was an impressive dish and good enough to recommend the restaurant on its own. The ginger drink was made with lots of fresh ginger and citrus, just a little sweet with a hell of a gingery kick. They had African music playing that got us moving in our seats and laughing with the other customers (all west African but us) who couldn’t help but move to the music while they waited on their orders. We left feeling full, happy, and like someone’s mother had cooked a meal just for us.Recommendation: Make this a destination or check ‘em out if you’re in the neighborhood.

2022-04-22Absolutely delicious. One of the best meals Ive ever had. The main issue is that I ate too much because it was so delicious! Thats my fault, obviously. 🤣 The guinea fowl was like duck and chicken combined with a unique flavor. Sooo good. It should be a more popular meat. The lamb dishes were amazing. The best lamb shank Ive ever had. Its actually hard to make that really well. I liked the other lamb dish even more. It was cooked really well. The food was different than anything Ive ever tried. Very well seasoned/marinated. Already telling my friends about it and they want to go.

2022-03-21Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in the Bronx NY!!! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation.I went with my family and we had the lamb shanks, the dibi, and the fried fish. Everything was delicious. Everything tasted authentic and made me feel right in my mother’s kitchen in Yop City West Africa!!

2022-07-04Too salty, Too spicy. Save your money. Several times we told them about their food being too spicy it like they dont understand. The lamb and guinea fool most of the time is extremely salty. If you want to avoid hypertension and stomach ulcer stay away from this place.

2022-06-13I love their food for sure . But I didn’t like the service specially the online service. I have ordered two times online and I am always disappointed. My last order yesterday was the soup . Only the head I have received not the stomach as they stated same as my previous order and the side I order for fufu and they sent me attieke without even notifying me. So disappointed. You can do better .
